The forest was buzzing with life as Ayame walked silently, mulling over Koga’s latest rejection. It obviously wasn’t Kagome anymore. She was pretty wasn’t she? Of course she was!! She was the princess of the northern tribe! She was strong and fast, considering you had to be if you wanted to live by a huge group of Birds of Paradise. She paused to listen to the shrieks of the near by birds. They didn’t bother that much anymore, but if they had the opportunity to kill you they would, no doubt. It was because of them that Koga had saved her and promised to be her mate.

She sighed and frowned as she paused again at a field that divided her forest from another one. She had always been told that if she waned live a long life to never walk into the forest. But she was always so curious as to why the only person who encouraged her to walk in was her father. He seemed to know something that scared his mother. She knew that her father hated her for some reason, his red eyes scorching her. She knew that his first mate had died, so he mated her mother, whom had loved him from the start, so that he would not die with her.

She looked like the exact copy of her mother red hair with bright green eyes. Her father had black hair with haunting red eyes. All she got from him was his charming smile. But the only time he smiled at her was when he knew something bad would happen to her. But he didn’t want her to die, obviously because he had saved her from death many times before.

She sniffed the air and almost jumped out of her skin as she noticed at least 15 pairs of red eyes staring angrily at her. There was a haunting laugh and Ayame didn’t even realize she was running in the other direction, faster then any time before her heart beating at a wild pace.

Red haunting eyes, so familiar, smiling evilly at her in her mind.

“Inuyasha.”

“Sango.”

&# 8220;Shippo.”

“Izumi.”

“ Katsu.”

“Soten.”

“ Kohaku.”
“Miroku.”

“Izayoi!”

They all looked at her, confused.

She smiled sheepishly, “Well everyone was saying each others name‘s!!! I felt left out!” she pouted.

They all laughed, Izayoi looked out the window and her jaw dropped.

“ Rin!”

“What?” they all asked at once. She jumped of and pointed excitedly.

“RIN!”

“Izayoi!!”

They all looked at each other, “RIN!!”

Inuyasha was the first out and tackled her as she held onto him tightly. She sobbed silently into his chest and refused to let him go. A warm breeze blew their hair in the other direction before there was a loud, grumble of a snort. Inuyasha paused as the huge snout jutted out from the forest. The dragon scuffled backwards and shot himself up into the air. Rin looked to the sky and waved bye as he spun in circles slowly.

Inuyasha nuzzled and purred into her neck as her scent assaulted his keen nose. She sighed as she held him tighter.

“ Come on Inuyasha, we would like to say hi too.” Miroku chuckled.

With a pout from Inuyasha and a blush from Rin he let her go and she greeted everyone else. She smiled as they all squeezed her and threatened to kill her if she ever ran away again. She gave everyone a big smile and they all dragged her into Inuyasha’s hut. They all sat her into a corner, Inuyasha carried her so that she was sitting on his lap and nuzzled closer to her, everyone else gave her glares.

“ Why did you run away?”

“ Does it matter? She came back…” he sighed into her neck.

“Yes it matters…you had us so worried Rin.” Sango sighed as Rin looked away.

“ Idunno…it just felt like the thing to do…I mean the argument me and Inu had wasn’t that bad…but it felt like I had done it before and I turned out okay…I’m not sure…sorry…I didn’t mean to make you worry.” she looked down and Inuyasha hugged her tighter.

“ It doesn’t matter.” he grunted.

“ To you.” she whispered.

“ To everyone.”

“No. You don’t have to lie to me you know. It’s okay.”

“ No. it doesn’t matter, it’s okay…”

She sighed and frowned at the others who had turned to smile at her.

“What?”

“ Just happy to have you back.”

Rin smiled and nuzzled Inuyasha’s chin, “Happy to be back.”

“Where to now?” Luna asked as they traveled to the north.

“ I think I have to speak to Ami, considering she’s closer then Vicious.”

“ So we’ll go to Ami then Vicious?”

“ yup.” she sighed as she looked at the thick tress.

“ Do you think her father will be there?” she asked in an excited tone.

“ No, he only goes to hunt on the full moon.”

With a pout she watched as the dragons body cut through icy clouds.

Her golden eyes drooped slightly as she thought of her poor lover at home with out her. She flopped onto her back and imagined his face, the sharp angle of his jaw, his sweet dimpled face, his warm yet icy blue eyes, his long eyelashes, his lips, his slightly pointed nose, and his black markings. The wind whipped her hair around a little as the moved faster up past the mountains.

Their was a sharp shriek and both Anna and Luna winced. Jiro made a coughing sound as a flock of half demon looking human and bird things appeared. Jiro cleared his throat and opened his mouth, the smell of smoke appeared as a huge fire ball was being created in his mouth. He took a big breath through his nose and blew the fire ball out harshly. The blast fried every one of the birds and they smoothly passed threw the mountains.

The passed a tribe of wolfs as Jiro curled up on a forest on the other side of them.

“ Are you going to stay out?” Anna asked as he opened one sleepy eye in her direction.

He snorted in approval and she patted his snout. Luna rubbed the side of his face and he purred causing the ground to shake lightly.

Red eyes peered cautiously from the brushes of the forest. Anna got down into a crouch and huge wolfs came rushing to her all at once wagging tails and happy licks of delight. There came a chuckle and Anna looked above the mass of wolfs to find her friend smiling at her.

“ I see you remember about me.”

“ How could I forget?” she teased as she stood up the wolfs coming above her waist.

“Lady Luna” she gave a small bow.

“ Lady Ami.” she responded as Ami rolled her eyes.

Her soft expression turned into a smile, as she rubbed Jiro’s chin.

“So what’s wrong?”

“ Ken is up to something and I need you to keep an eye out for me up here.”

“Sure…”

Anna gave her a strange look, “What happened? Your usually grumpy about something, your acting strangely mellow…”

Ami pouted her red eyes scorching Anna’s skin with an angry glare.

“ I saw my little sister…” she gave her a pleased smile, “She ran away so fast, my puppies didn’t even notice at first.” a fang popped out from her full lips as she smiled mischievously.

Anna rolled her eyes, “ I could just place a hex on her if that would make things more interesting for you.”

Ami chuckled, “ I think someone beat you to it. She seems obsessed with the prince of the east. But he just rejects her all the time.” she wrinkled her nose in delight and wagged her tail.

“ You mean king of the eastern tribe?”

Ami shrugged, “ I guess, but I don’t think I’ve ever met him before…”

Anna gave her a confused look, “ Yeah you have. Koga.”

Ami’s back stiffened as a low angry growl ripped through her throat, “That’s not possible.” she hissed.

Anna gave her an amused look as slowly all the young pups picked up on her mood and reacted with her. Hackles up, lips pulled back, circling her in agitation.

“ Apparently he absentmindedly said he would be her mate when she was young after saving her from those creepy birds of yours. Now she’s obsessed with trying to make him do what he promised her.”

Ami sighed and removed her short hair from her face. Her hair was short on the sides but long on the top, her bangs covering her left eye. She had haunting red eyes, pale skin, plump pink lips, a sharp jaw and a small pointed nose. Her body was long and slightly thin, though her breast were on the big side. She was beautiful and graceful, yet was out cased.

“ I guess I should kill the little whore now.” she pouted her eyes cooling over as she pet and calmed all the young pups.

“Hey… where are the older ones?”

She wrinkled her nose and stuck her tongue out, “ They went out to mate. I swear I got all the horny ones.”

Luna laughed and Anna rolled her eyes.

“ Well that’s it I suppose. Give me a howl if you need me.” she scoffed.

“Pfft, hoe, don’t forget your species are a lower version of mine!” she laughed and disappeared in a flash.

Anna smiled and poked Jiro to get up.

“ Time to go to our leech, Jiro.” Anna smiled.

Jiro nodded and let them climb on first before he shot himself into the air once again.

Koga walked threw his forest leading to a small pond that was filled by a waterfall that hid his den. The air had an electrical charge, and it excited his nerves. He took a small sniff of air and recognized the sent and groaned.

“Koga!” Ginta and Hakakku announced in unison.

“ Yo.” he said and warily walked into his den.

“Koga-sama. Lady Ayame seems to be terrified of something. She wont speak to anyone. She only asks for you my lord.” a young wolf demoness said.

Koga’s brows frowned, that wasn’t something Ayame made up everyday. He walked with the young girl, not seeming to remember her name, to another divided den.

He walked in and many older female wolfs sat around a pale and trmbling Ayame.

“Lord Koga.” they all said at once.

Koga bowed, “ Ladies.”

“Koga.” Ayame’s dull voided voice called out to him.

He frowned and kneeled in front of her and touched her cheek lightly. She pressed her face into his warm palm.

“ She went to the edge of the forest my lord.”

Koga clamped down on his tongue, to keep from cursing in front of the elders. No one really knew what exactly was in the forest of darkness, but the story goes that a princess gone bad lived there. She was a perfect princess happy and happy to be around others. Sweet and kind to all she met. But one day her mother died and her father out of desperation mated another. The elders of that tribe striped her of her crown banished her and gave the position to the first born of the new mate of her father. Her father had fought, but was out numbered an could not win against the whole tribe. The called her a hell hound and left her to fend on her own. She disappeared into a forest with no name. years passed and anyone who entered never came back out. Enormous wolfs with red beady eyes and foot long fangs could be seen at the edge of the forest that divided the too. Only a few people have seen the princes and lived and even fewer heard her angel like voice and stayed sane. The princess had some how managed to find raise and tame wolfs from hell. Or so the story went.

But everything seemed to be correct, and the only way to fix the problem was to kill the princess. Many have tried, but none have succeeded.

“She heard the laugh and saw the eyes of the dark princess my lord. She keeps talking about red eyes and a haunting laugh.”

“Ayame?”

She turned her dull, watery eyes towards him and smiled, “ Koga?” she sighed.

“ What did you see in the forest?”

“ Eyes, lot and lots of red eyes. They were so angry Koga. I didn’t do anything, I just was thinking to myself, I promise, I didn’t go in. I wanted to, but I didn’t.” she whimpered and the pain in her head grew.

He touched her hand and the pain grew worse, “ Don’t touch me” she whimpered and pushed his hand aside.

He didn’t remove his hand but hugged her instead. But the pain moved from her head to her whole body, where ever he touched her.

She let out a heart breaking yowl and pushed him off, “DON’T TOUCH ME!!”

Koga let her go instantly and the pain instantly went away. She backed her self farther away and the pain disappeared the farther away she got from him.

Her eyes watered, he wanted to be close, but now it hurt her. It hurt so bad.

“ Koga. I would listen, the curse of the angry princess isn’t exactly something one can get rid of easily. Let me take her away and I’ll give her…back…when she’s feeling better.”

Koga stared at Ayame’s father in confusion. He knew for a fact that he did not like Ayame.

“My lord, I don’t think that is wise.”

The man glared, “ And having her in unbearable pain because your with her is? Please,” he scoffed,“ I’m her father, I wouldn’t hurt her.”

Koga sighed and gave up. He moved to the farthest corner of the room and Ayame bounced into her fathers arms. He easily caught her and was gone in flash.

One of the elders let out a terrified gasp.

Koga looked at the old woman in concern.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

She handed him a small scroll of paper:

“ To anyone who cares,

We’re off to kill the princess…Wish us luck!

Your Friend
Katsuo ”

Koga growled viciously and ran straight out of the den.
