AN: NOW~!!! PLEASE DON'T BE ANGRY WITH ME OKAY~~~ about Kagome's misadventure in the last chapter…*backs away, hands up as if to say, `I surrender!'* but the good and happy part comes in this chapter and it's actually the reason why I updated this one along with chp6, pt3 at the same time as this one...^^ (Also, this is an edited version from the first chp7 because it had lots of mistakes in it, but you won't find much difference in it so if you have read the one before then don't bother to read it again...)

Chapter 7 - It Time to Go Home

"Come and face me coward!" Sesshoumaru shouted inside the city fight through Toujin's force.

"I'm no coward."

Sesshoumaru turned towards that voice to see a man with long wavy hair.

"So you're Toujin I presume." Sesshoumaru said, his anger rise at the sight of him.

"You presumed correctly Sesshoumaru. I will not let you win this so easily and don't even think about leaving with your wife or your father." Toujin smirked as he saw Sesshoumaru anger increased. "I can have Inutaishou dead at my command and I'm sure you wife won't be too happy to see you at present."

"What do you mean she isn't too happy to see me at present?" Sesshoumaru asked curiously. Suddenly, the mixture of Kagome's heavenly scent was on Toujin. "What have you done to Kagome?!" He demanded started an attack at Toujin but stopped suddenly as she saw Kagome in front of him. "Kagome!" He went to embrace her.

"I don't think so, Sesshoumaru-sama. You don't seem to use your sensitive nose cleverly enough." Kagome said coldly. What's going on? Kagome had never been like this before, unless....- A suddenly stab of pain in the stomach as Kagome's face disappeared and turned into Toujin's smirking face.

"It's you!" Sesshoumaru said, clutching his wound. This person must have learnt a few spells up his sleeve. "That proves you no power but weak. Dirty tricks won't work but I suppose it won't hurt if I do it too so make us even." Sesshoumaru said, his eyes turned blood red and a suddenly transformation of the Warlord into a giant demon dog appeared. The citizens screamed and tried to run away from the poisonous saliva dribbling from Sesshoumaru's mouth.

Sesshoumaru began to make his move against Toujin, running here and there yet somehow he was able to dodge his attacks. But it was useless, Sesshoumaru's toxic fumes were roaming the battlegrounds and Toujin already seems affected by it.

There he was, Toujin, trying his best to keep his focus but was unable to do so.

"Don't be such a dog Sesshoumaru, fight me with a sword why don't you." Toujin shouted into the air. No reasons.

"You really don't know when the end is don't you?"

Suddenly, a sharp blade came out of Toujin's chest.

"You?!"

"Yes, I, Sesshoumaru has killed you. "Seems like you weren't able to stand my poisonous fumes." Sesshoumaru told him coldly and Toujin's body drop dead onto the ground. "Now, where is Kagome?!" He demanded.

"Your wife's mine." Toujin whispered. "She-" then his life ran out.

`Stupid idiot. Never knows when to shut up. Now, to find Kagome.' Sesshoumaru thought, the last words of Toujin were taunting him.

Finally, Kagome was able to drag herself into the bathroom wash herself and out again, dressed in a plain kimono of ivory colour. She sat on the bed, went under the pillow and pulled a bag, which she had kept the kimono Sesshoumaru had given her. Funny enough that Toujin didn't find this.

(AN: Um, Kagome was wearing this when she first got to the castle..^^)

`No! I don't want to think about him again! Never again!' "Sesshoumaru..." She whispered then broke into tears once more.

"Sesshoumaru..."

`Kagome's voice!' Sesshoumaru told himself. He quickly turned towards the way he heard it from. He ran around the castle as fast as he could, following the weeping sound of his beloved wife. As the smell of salted tears got stronger, he knew he was getting closer until finally, he stopped in front of a pair of shoji doors. He could smell the sweet flowers scent of Kagome, her tears and the stink of Toujin strongly behind those doors.

Slowly he opened the doors to view inside, his heart lifted at the sight of Kagome.

"Kagome!"

Her hair was washed not so long ago but it was all messy. Surprise by his voice, Kagome got a jump and looked up slightly.

"Kagome!" He said again and walked towards her.

"NO! Stay away from me!" She shouted and grasped the front of her kimono; tears running down her bruised and slightly bloody cheeks.

"Kagome?" Sesshoumaru asked in a softer tone. Her reaction suddenly brought all the weight on his heart again and sent millions of daggers wounding his heart and another scent caught his nose. `She's scared me?' "Why are you scared of me? It's just me. Sesshoumaru" Then Toujin's words rang out loud in his head again. `Kagome? Please don't tell me you...'

"Don't even speak! You freak! Stay away from me!" Kagome covered up her ears and knelt down. Sesshoumaru was shocked, why? Doesn't she want to see me? At least she doesn't love Toujin...

"I'm sure you wife won't be too happy to see you at present..."

Sesshoumaru's brain clicked. As the reality brought more sadness and regret over him. `He forced himself on to her in my image!' He thought, his eyes wide open. Then he glazed over Kagome. He had come too late; too late to save her from being violated by...Toujin! So that was why he had Kagome's scent all over him and the reason why Kagome is so afraid of him is because Toujin must have raped her in his image! It all fitted perfectly as he understood what has be bestowed upon his wife and tried to explain.

"Kagome please listen to me, I AM really Sesshoumaru. Toujin no longer exists on this earth any longer. Please listen to me." Sesshoumaru begged her.

"No, you're just trying to trick me!" Kagome shrieked at him.

It was no use, she was too rebellious. `It's best I let her calm down.' Sesshoumaru thought regrettably.

"Then I shall leave, if that is your wish." He turned around and left the room, looking back to see her huddle up and cry again. Seeing her so badly hurt made Sesshoumaru feel it tenfold. `Toujin has not just done a physical damage to Kagome but mentally as well. Making me Kagome's worst nightmare, what can I do?!' He asked himself, annoyed, as he reached the doors out to the castle's garden, a little damaged from the previous battle.

"Sesshoumaru-sama!!" One of his men came running towards him.

"What is it?" He asked them. He could smell two other humans with them.

"Sesshoumaru?!"

`That voice!'

"It is you! My boy! You have found me again." The figure came towards him.

"Father!" Sesshoumaru realised and bowed down slightly.

"No, no...you are a Warlord now, Sesshoumaru. You bow down to no-one." Inutaishou told him in a very proud way. "Have you found Kagome? She hasn't come back to our house since two weeks ago." Now he said with a more worried tone.

"Yes I have." Sesshoumaru face looked downwards slightly.

"You have?! Where is she?!" Said a high pitched voice.

"Your wife's mine, she is mine "Who are you?" Sesshoumaru asked the woman next to Inutaishou.

"Oh, sorry Sesshoumaru-sama, I'm Sango. I'm Kagome's friend here." She bowed down at Sesshoumaru.

"I think you two show go and talk to Kagome. She won't hear a word from me." Sesshoumaru told them.

"What? Why not?" Inutaishou asked him.

"You know when you see her." Sesshoumaru replied in a very, I don't want to talk about it tone and they followed Sesshoumaru to where Kagome was.

"You two go in, I'll wait here." He told his father and Sango who both nodded and went inside.

"Kagome-chan?" Sango called to her as she saw a figure cuddled up on the floor. At the sound of the familiar voice, Kagome sat up and saw her dear friend.

"Sango? SANGO!!" She stood up and they ran to each other. "I missed you soo much!"

"Me too! What happed to your face?" Sango asked worried.

"Lets not talk about that for the moment can we?" Kagome spoke, Sango can feel her body trembling.

"Kagome? Are you alright?"

"Inutaishou! Thank goodness your safe!" Kagome said relieved.

"Why shouldn't I be?" Inutaishou asked her. Kagome was going to hug him too but then stepped back. "What's wrong?"

"No, please, I don't think you should touch me. After all, you are royalty and I'm all...dirty, unclean and-and..." Kagome began to stutter and the memory of the past event not so long ago came back to her.

"What happened Kagome? Sesshoumaru said -"

"Don't say it!" Kagome said suddenly, looking scared at the sound of his name.

"Don't force her." Sesshoumaru finally came into the room. Kagome went behind Sango in fear and cover her ears and closed her eyes.

"Don't let him come near me! Please!" She began to cry again.

"What?! I'm confused. What happened?!" Sango asked.

"Kagome, she...she was raped by Toujin." Sesshoumaru finally said it, on the edge of tears himself. "In my image and voice."

"Can he do that?!" Sango asked, very shocked.

"HE WHAT?! HOW DARE HE!!" Inutaishou screamed on top of his lungs. (AN: Obviously he is very angry..) Sango turned around to hug her shaking friend to comfort her the best she could.

"Don't worry Kagome, this is the really Sesshoumaru, the one that you care and think about everyday, the one that you talk to me about everyday at work, remember?" Sango talked to Kagome softly.

"Are-are you sure?" Kagome looked behind Sango to see the image of her lovely husband but immediately looked back at Sango, her eyes cast down. "I-I can't!" Kagome shouted, frustrated.

"Do you have something to prove yourself?" Sango turned around and mouthed to Sesshoumaru. Think through his mind, he landed on one thing. The necklace that Kagome gave him! Quickly, he brought it out from underneath his clothes and pulled it out.

"Kagome, look!" Sango told her friend pointing at the necklace Sesshoumaru was holding. Slowly, Kagome raised her head to see what Sango was pointing to and froze when she saw it.

"You-you are Sesshoumaru..." Kagome whispered, then she fainted into Sango's arms.

"Kagome!" Sesshoumaru rushed to help Sango support her.

"She's breathing." Sango told him as he supported Kagome's body. He carried her to the bed and laid her down. Crouching above her, he wiped away the hair in her face and put it behind her ears. He could see her bruise marks very clearly now, even the out lines where Toujin's hand had hit her. Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes as his anger towards Toujin grew. `If he was still I live, stabbed him a million times to death.' He though to himself. He turned away from Kagome as his eyes looked around the room.

"We should let her rest before going away, Sesshoumaru," Inutaishou told him. Sesshoumaru nodded in response.

"Do you have anything that you need that is still at where you lived?" Sesshoumaru asked him and Sango.'

"Well there are a few little things I have..." Sango began.

"Then go get it now while Kagome is still asleep." Sesshoumaru said in an orderly tone.

"I'll go with her and get my things as well." Inutaishou told his son, who nodded, and they left. Alone now with a unconscious Kagome in a room. Sesshoumaru began to walk around to see that the place was pretty much full of future, paintings and instruments.

`The things that women do in their spare time.' Sesshoumaru thought, and saw that Kagome was the one who had painted a few of the paintings. He strummed the cords of the koto lightly with his fingers and then walked to the table. On the table, he was a piece of writing and upon recognizing that is was Kagome's handwriting, he picked it up and read it.

"Trapped in a cage, unable to fly,

My wings unable to move.

Trapped in a cage, sorrow fills my heart

Shearing my tears, for my loved ones.

And here I am, stuck here only with a ray of hope,

That one day soon, you will find me."

He paused to comprehend the poem his wife wrote then he understood, it was how she felt when she was alone.

"To be able see the one I care again,

That will be my only wish.

But if it costs me to keep them safe,

Then let me be in my cage and set my loved ones free.

And here if my life shall be,

Inside this cold lonely cage.

I shall think of my family, my loved ones

Free and happy and I shall be happy.

If it costs me my life then let it be,

But remember, keep my loved ones safe and happy."

Sesshoumaru let one drop of tears run down his cheek and looked at Kagome.

`She has must have given up so much just for me.' He thought sadly. `Why?! Why must she end up like this?! Why would someone with such a kind and caring heart?' he question to kami. (AN: kami = god. And in this case in Cantonese we would say `teen ar' or mandarin/Chinese `Tein ar'!! ^^)

Then, on the table was a painting of a beautiful blue bird in a cage while others that was silver flew around near a blooming tree. The blue bird has tears coming down from it's eye while a weak smile, just obvious enough to be seen on it's beak.

Slowly, Kagome began to stir awake from the unconscious state, Sesshoumaru stay were he was, quite a small distance away from her so she won't be alerted. When finally she was fully awake, she sat up and at the sight of Sesshoumaru she jumped.

`No, that is really Sesshoumaru! He has the necklace I gave him.' She tried to tell herself. "W-why are you still here?"

"Because I want you to rest and get well a little before we return home, if that is what you want." Sesshoumaru spoke to her softly. Hearing his gentle voice and they way he spoke he knew it was Sesshoumaru.

"It really is you." Kagome said it soo quietly that even Sesshoumaru barely heard it.

"Kagome," Sesshoumaru began to approach her.

"Don't touch me!" Kagome suddenly gave a scared response which only sadden Sesshoumaru thinking that he must have scared her somehow. "I'm...so...dirty..." she said to him.

"No you're not, to me, you are not." He walked to her and embraced her tightly. "I missed you soo much..." He said next to her ear. Kagome felt the warmth of his words entering her cold heart, exhausted from the heat of love she once had and moved away to look at him in the eyes to see them also fill with caring, respect and love. She hugged him tight, her hand on his back, her face in his chest and began to cry again.

"I missed you so much too!" Kagome cried out. Sesshoumaru held her and kept silent as he leaned back against a wall and his chin on top of Kagome's head.

Slowly, Kagome's weeping ceased. It was then when Sango and Inutaishou finally came back. Sango smiled when she saw her friend hugging Sesshoumaru firmly, fast asleep.

"How is she doing, Sesshoumaru?" Inutaishou whispered.

"She has just gone back to sleep." Sesshoumaru replied in the same tone.

"Then perhaps we should stay till morning." Inutaishou said. "Sango, do you want to find a room, maybe next door to sleep for tonight? I still need talk with Sesshoumaru a while longer. Sango bowed obediently and left the room.

"Are you going to talk to her about you second wife?" He asked him quietly.

Sesshoumaru looked straight ahead for the moment then replied.

"Later, I don't want to give her soo much thoughts at the moment."

Kagome stirred again, and this time blinked a few times and looked up.

"Oh, sorry Kagome, did we interrupt your sleep?" Inutaishou asked her kindly.

Surprisingly, she smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'll just -" She began to sit up again but Inutaishou insisted that she continued her sleep.

"No, you should sleep now since be have a long journey to begin tomorrow." And he left the room. When Kagome looked back at Sesshoumaru, she knew that he would eventually get tired with his shoulders resting against the wall

(AN: You know, like the bottom of the spine isn't against the wall and you bum really hurt~~ ^^).

"Sesshoumaru, you don't have to do that, you'll get a sore back. She pulled him down to laid down flat on the bed then rested herself next to him. "Hugged me close? Please?" She asked him, she wanted to feel safe. Sesshoumaru pulled Kagome to sleep his chest while he hugged her tightly, as she snuggled closer to him and fall asleep again.

Morning finally arrived, the rays of light shining through the windows. Sesshoumaru woke to find a scent that he had smelt a long time ago of roses and blueberries surround him intoxicating.

(AN; hehe~~ Sorry oor, but I really like blueberry smells, they're soo sweet, in smell that is. You know, you sometimes get from pens?!)

`Kagome's scent, I've missed this soo much.' He thought to himself as he gently rolled them to the side. Looking down on to his wife, he finds her sleeping peacefully and when he moved away a little, he could see a light smile on her face. But Kagome noticed that his strong arms around her had loosened and that his warm body was drawing away, she snuggled and hugged him even tighter. Sesshoumaru laughed silently at this and the little movement caused Kagome to stir.

"Hm..." Kagome lifted her head to look at Sesshoumaru.

"Ohiyou Kagome." Sesshoumaru said to her with a smile.

"Ohiyou. It's seems like it has been forever since every said that to each other." Kagome said, thinking about the past but when her thoughts caught up to Toujin she hugged him firmly, her face in his chest.

"What is it?" Sesshoumaru asked her at her sudden embrace, yet he could smell her fear. "Don't worry my love, I know you're scared but I will never let him hurt you again." Sesshoumaru vowed and with that, her huge became loose.

"Than I guess...it's time to go back, ne?" Kagome said, suddenly all bright. Sesshoumaru nodded.

"Please come back with me." He pleaded her.

"When did I say I wasn't, silly?" Kagome patted his head playfully.

"Well then, it's time to go home."
