Chapter 2

Sesshomaru returned to his own time, where he was the lord of the western lands. Sakura smiled up at him as he gently placed her on the ground. Jaken emerged from Lord Sesshomaru's estate, shouting greetings. A little girl in a checkered kimono soon followed him. She was sweet and innocent.

"Welcome back, Lord Sesshomaru. Oh and Lady Sakura. I didn't expect to see you." Jaken greeted as he bowed.

"It was empty here without you my lord." The little girl said.

"Rin, this is Lady Sakura. She will be staying with us for a while. Treat her with respect." Sesshomaru introduced. Rin bowed in reply. Sakura knelt beside Rin so that it would be easier to talk to her.

"It's nice to meet you, Rin." She greeted with a smile. Rin grinned, then turned to Sesshomaru.

"My lord, which room will Lady Sakura be staying in?" she asked.

"Lady Sakura will be staying in the room next to yours and across from my own. Please show her the way." Sesshomaru answered. Rin took Sakura by the hand then led her through the castle to her living quarters.

"This is your room, Lady Sakura." Rin said.

"Rin, please don't call me Lady. It's way too formal for me. Just call me Sakura." Rin smiled. She already liked the wind demoness.

The room was absolutely gorgeous. It was dressed up in red and gold. The room was elegant yet simple in a way. It looked as though the room had been designed for her. The closet was filled with both beautiful formal and informal clothes that were more suitable for that time period.

At that moment Sesshomaru walked in. Jaken followed him a minute later. Sakura smiled up at him with total appreciation.

"Sakura, tomorrow all of the demon leaders will be gathering here. I suggest you wear something formal. Do not get into too many fights either. I advise that you be very discrete when it comes to your abilities." Sesshomaru suggested.

"Don't worry. If I must I will try to keep my powers under control. However if someone were to cross me that would be an entirely different situation." Sakura said.

Serenity had been talking with the group for hours, and night was slowly creeping up on them. InuYasha stared at the sky. Tonight was the new moon. He would become human.

"Guys, tomorrow I can't go with you. Unfortunately I must go to my brother's for a special meeting. I'm one of the only hanyou alive, and I have to go." InuYasha explained.

"Oh. Koga told me about the meeting. He said all of the demon leaders are attending. I think he already left to go there." Kagome commented.

"I don't understand why that wimpy wolf is going. He isn't strong enough." InuYasha grumbled.

"Actually Koga has great speed and power even if he did not carry jewel shards. He is a great warrior." Serenity whispered.

"Have you met Koga before, Serenity?" Miroku asked.

"Yes, it was an accident though. I watched as he fought many demons." She answered. The sun finally set. InuYasha's hair grew jet black, and his demon features were exchanged for human ones. No one seemed at all disturbed by his transformation.

"Serenity, you're welcome to stay here for a while." Kaede offered.

"Thanks that sounds great." Serenity accepted. As the night went on, everyone got comfortable and went to sleep.

Rhigama watched like the distant goddess as her sisters got closer and closer to meeting up with each other. She smiled in thought of all the fighting that would break out over the two. InuYasha's group defending Serenity, and Sesshomaru defending Sakura from each other.

Rhigama smirked. A war would then break out. Sweet blood would flow, but never enough to satisfy the demons' thirsts. The thought brought forth blessed memories of the death and destruction that had been her childhood.

A portal appeared before her. Rhigama seemed to become the very darkness as she stepped through it. The portal took her to the past and right in front of Sesshomaru's mansion. She casually walked right inside. Her sister was asleep, and Sesshomaru was in his study.

Rhigama walked right into his study and sat down on the desk. Her red eyes glowed in anticipation of what was to come. Sesshomaru growled at the intruder.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Lord Sesshomaru. I am Rhigama. In the future, I am the leader of the fire demons and the sister of Sakura." She introduced.

"So you are her sister. Why are you here? If it is to see Sakura, she is already asleep." Sesshomaru growled.

"Actually I came to warn you. Tomorrow Sakura will be slain by Serenity, our other sister. Unless she is protected, it is certain to happen." Rhigama warned. As Rhigama finished speaking, she once again became the darkness and disappeared.

Rhigama reappeared just outside of Kaede's hut a few moments later. She watched as the young monk woke from his fitful slumber and walked outside only to see her standing there. Immediately Miroku slipped into a fighting stance. Her demon aura was incredibly strong.

"Why are you here demon?" he asked.

"I came here to warn Serenity about something. However I doubt that she would believe anyone though." Rhigama said with a practiced voice.

"What about Serenity?" Miroku asked.

"Soon she will be attacked by her own sister, Sakura. I do not want to see that happen."

"Why would a demon care about a human's safety?"

"I have my reasons." With those words, Rhigama once again disappeared completely. Miroku eased out of his fighting stance. Then after making sure that she was really gone, he went into the hut and woke Serenity.

"Serenity I need to talk to you outside." Miroku whispered. The two slipped outside without waking anyone else up. Serenity sat on a rock and looked at the sky,

"What'd you want to talk about?" she asked. Miroku explained the situation with Rhigama and the future attack that was to occur. Serenity sat in actual shock. Sakura? They may have been sisters, but they had never met each other. Now they were enemies? This just didn't make sense.

"Lady Serenity, don't worry. I will protect you to the very end." Miroku comforted. Serenity hugged Miroku and then laid her head on his shoulder.

"You do not know what this means to me." She whispered. Miroku wrapped an arm around her and comforted her.

As the sun began to rise, Sakura awoke and walked onto her balcony. The sight was beautiful. In her time there was always pollution or something interfering with such a thing. However Sakura yearned to be in her own time with the other wind demons; with her kin. Yet she quickly brushed off the feeling and walked back inside to change. It was way too painful to think about presently.

Sesshomaru sat in the dining hall, thinking of how to tell Sakura about her sister. It would be difficult for her to take especially with all that had happened in the last twenty-four hours. Sakura walked in to the dining hall with Rin close behind. She wore a kimono that was decorated with the flower that she was named after.

"Good morning, Sesshomaru. Did you sleep well last night?" Sakura greeted.

"Sakura after breakfast, I need to speak with you about something important." Sesshomaru said. The wind demoness nodded slowly.

They quickly finished eating then Sakura joined Sesshomaru in his library. The demoness felt uneasy. Sesshomaru was too tense for her taste.

"Sakura as you know today the leaders of each species. InuYasha will be there and unfortunately he has teamed up with someone whom only wishes your demise. You must remain on your guard."
