Chapter 3

Sakura looked at Sesshomaru with confusion swirling in her emerald eyes. She didn't know of anyone that would try to harm her except the one person InuYasha was trying to destroy. It just didn't add up.

"Whom did he team up with Sesshomaru? Unless he suddenly teamed up with Naraku, I have no clue who it could be." Sakura asked. Sesshomaru sighed and looked at the wind demoness.

"I was told by your older sister Rhigama that it was your other sister Serenity whom wishes you slain." He replied. Sakura looked at the ground. Her sister? That made even less sense than the thought of having an enemy other than Naraku. She had never met Serenity before. They were separated by two different worlds. Serenity had clung to the demon world and her pack, while Sakura had clung to the human world in order to protect the mortals whom had raised her since birth.

"That cannot be true! I have never even met Serenity! Why would she wish to harm me?" Sakura asked. The emotional stress from yesterday and now today was quickly gaining up on her. It was getting to be too much. Yet Sakura still held her composure. Her demon heritage would not allow her to show any more weakness than had already been released today.

"Sakura perhaps it is best if you remained in your room while the other demon lords and ladies gather today." Sesshomaru suggested not liking how much pain the young demoness was suffering.

"No, I will be fine. Plus I have a feeling that you will require my services today." Sakura said, smiling slightly. Sesshomaru could only nod as Sakura left to find Rin and to help the little girl dress to meet with the children of all the demon lords and ladies.

InuYasha was ready to leave way before daybreak. However Kagome insisted he wait till daybreak since the castle was only a two-hour walk away for a human and InuYasha wasn't even expected to arrive till mid-day. The group would walk with him part of the way as they searched for Serenity's village.

At daybreak they left. Sango was determined to stay between Serenity and Miroku the entire time. `Someone's jealous.' Serenity thought as she watched the demon exterminator from the corner of her eye. However Miroku somehow ended up between the two women. His hands couldn't resist the temptation. SLAP!!!!!!!!

"Hentai!!!!!!!!" The two girls yelled at the same time. Kagome and Shippo started to laugh. Miroku had two identical handprints on both sides of his face. Serenity suddenly realized what she had done.

"Oh no. Miroku I'm so sorry. You surprised me. Are you okay?" Serenity asked kneeling beside the `poor' monk.

"I'm fine now. Thank you Serenity. You're concern means so much to me." Miroku said, taking her hands in his own. The girl blushed slightly at the contact.

"Serenity, would you do me the honor of bearing my child?" Miroku asked.

"Miroku, it would be my honor, but I'm afraid that this is not the right time for such things." Serenity replied. Her heart was doing flip-flops in her chest. Serenity was falling in love with a monk from the feudal era. Miroku looked at her. He was disappointed at first, but then realized that Serenity had almost said yes.

"Then I will wait until it is time." Miroku replied. Serenity smiled.

"Hopefully you will not have to wait too long." She whispered. Sango felt as though she were about to throw up. Kagome smiled at the couple, but then thought of how poor Sango must feel.

"InuYasha you go ahead. When the meeting is over, come and find us. Right now I think us, girls, are going to take a break at the hot springs." She said. InuYasha nodded and turned to leave.

"Be careful, Kagome. I'll see you in about a week." He said. Suddenly he left. Kagome watched him leave with an empty feeling in her heart.

"Well let's go to the hot springs. Monk, don't even think of peeking on us." Sango warned with a rather cold glare. Serenity gave Miroku a sweet smile.

"Please stay here with Shippo and Kirara. I promise we won't be long." She said, giving the monk a quick hug before following the other girls.

*****At the Hot Springs*****

Sango slipped into the warm water and sighed as her muscles slowly began to relax. Serenity was a little surprised at how tense she had been as well. Perhaps it was because of her uncertainty when it came to her feelings or the possible death threat from her sister. Who knows? However so far she knew that she liked the Feudal era. Except she did miss her other sister a little bit.

"Serenity, are you really going to bear Miroku's child?" Sango asked breaking the silence between the three. Serenity nodded.

"When I feel the time is right." She replied. She slipped down under the hot water, letting it consume her for a time. This was heaven.

Sakura watched as the demon lords and ladies began to arrive. She saw a few of their children and already feared for Rin's safety. After all humans and demons didn't get along very well. She finished brushing Rin's hair and then stood to look through her wardrobe for something nice to wear.

Sakura decided upon a black and silver kimono with a silver dragon design that wrapped around her. She quickly pulled her hair into an elegant twist, leaving her bangs down to frame her face. Sakura added silver eye shadow and was done.

Sesshomaru waited for Sakura to emerge from her room to help him greet his esteemed guests. When she finally did, Sesshomaru had to work really hard not to lose his emotionless façade. Sakura looked breathtaking in that outfit. It fit her curves nicely without giving too much away so that your imagination could wander.
