Epilogue: Will You Be Ready
After the light had faded, Kane collapsed onto the ground. Bending her knees to catch herself with her hands, she bowed her head low in sadness. Tears plopped onto the soil as she cried in sorrow. `Why does it hurt so much? Setsuna's gone, yes, but…it shouldn't hurt like this.'
A warm hand lay on her back. “Kane, are you okay?” Mika crouched beside her as she asked her question.
“No, I'm not!” Kane cried out. “He's dead, all because of me! All because of my foolish trust in others!”
Michi and Yuki looked around as the once deadened forest returned to life. They saw Kane as she cried and Mika comforted her. “Is something wrong?”
“Yuki, look!” Michi gasped and pointed at Setsuna as he lay lifeless. “Setsuna…he's…oh poor Kane.” She let a tear fall from her eye as she looked towards the west to see Ori, Nakura and Myrako walking towards them. “Oh Ori!” Michi yelled out as she ran over to the Thunder Brother.
“My, my! Michi, you look stunning!” He opened his arms as she rushed into his chest.
“Baka! You almost died and your giving me compliments?!” She cried into his chest, grateful to have him with her in her time of sorrow. “I just wish…I just…”
“It's okay, love; I'm alive and well.” He reassured her, giving her a gentle squeeze and a light kiss atop her head.
Nakura stood behind the wolf demon as she comforted the hanyou. Sensing his presence, she turned around and looked up at him. Blushing only slightly at his appearance, she said, “What does it take to kill you? An army?” Her voice carried a tiny amount of concern, but she hid it well.
“Such concern you show for me. I'm touched.” He stated nonchalantly. Then he saw the reason for Kane's tears. “Is he…”
“Dead? Yes, Nigiyaka's poison got the better of him. By the time she sang, he'd been gone for a while.” Mika said sadly as she rubbed her friend's back lightly.
“But her power saved me and Ori, whom had died himself of poison. Shouldn't he be saved as well?” Nakura asked, just as a shallow groan was heard from Setsuna's body. It was so quiet though that it went by unnoticed.
“You died too you know.” Ori stated. “Last time I checked, you had described yourself floating up to the heavens and then being pulled back down suddenly.”
Setsuna sat up and blinked away traces of cloudiness. `What happened to me?' He thought groggily as the earth spun without him. `Oh man, I think I'm gonna be sick…' He closed his eyes and put his head in his hands. Still, nobody noticed the Neko who was now alive and moving again.
“Hey you guys, this isn't really the time to argue about who died and who came back because somebody obviously didn't return.” Mika silenced Ori and Nakura. “You need to realize that you're the lucky ones.”
Kane sniffled lightly and finally looked up. “I'm fine Mika; really I am.”
`Is there something wrong with her?' Setsuna leaned forward to listen.
“No your not. You've lost somebody you loved and he's never coming back.” Mika closed her eyes as Michi and Yuki came forward to add support and comfort for their depressed friend.
`She's lost somebody? Who though? I'm right here!' Setsuna stood on shaky legs, which caught the attention of Nakura at least. His eyes widened and he was going to say something, but decided against it.
The girls were crowded around Kane, who had her back to Setsuna, as she sat on her calves, crying only lightly. Ori was the next to look over to Setsuna and see him clumsily start walking over to the group. He opened his mouth to speak, but Nakura nudged his ribcage. Mika then looked up from the position she was in front of Kane. Seeing him nod, she stood again. Yuki and Michi simultaneously looked at him, and backed away from Kane slowly. Surprised that her comfort had suddenly left her, she glanced up at them. Then she looked at Yuki and Michi's eyes and how surprised they seemed, like they were looking at a ghost. “What are you guys looking at?”
“Kane, who did you lose?” Setsuna inquired. Kane started at the sound of his voice. Tears glistened on her eye lashes as she slowly turned around. And there he stood, favoring his left leg to lean on as he gazed down at her. “'Cause I'm right here.”
More tears gathered in her eyes as she continued to stare at him. Realization hit her and she stood to run into his arms. “SETSUNA---!” Kane cried out as her arms wrapped tightly around him and his gently rested on her. Her face burrowed into his chest as she sobbed. “Oh Kami, Setsuna. Please don't leave me again.”
“I never did leave you. Don't you remember in the dark depths of your mind? That's where you found the song.” Setsuna brought her back and held onto the silver dragon he wore around his neck. “Besides, I couldn't die until I returned a gift to you.”
“You don't have to…” He placed a finger over her lips.
“Do you remember what we were doing before all of this began?” He brought his nose down to touch hers.
Kane nodded, and then closed her eyes to accept the gentle kiss. Tasting strawberries hand picked and bathed with sunlight, she savored the tender kiss as they parted.
“Get a room!” Mika stuck her finger in her mouth, pretending to gag. “No PDA's please!”
Kane wiped away some stray tears and looked over at Mika. “Tell Michi and Ori that.” Glancing over at the two, Kane giggled as the two passionately embraced. Michi faced forward, her neck craned up as her and Ori exchanged a hard kiss.
“Ugh! That's even worse!” Mika turned away, skulking away and almost knocking Nakura down. She blushed a bright red and stomped off to his left with a “Keh!”
Koya approached Kane. “My gratitude, Kane-Sakura. You may have started this whole thing, but you finished it with grace.”
Setsuna laughed mockingly at his older brother. “It's quite rare to hear compliments come from your mouth.” He sneered. “Thanks anyway.”
“They weren't meant for you, you baka. Last time I recalled, it was you that had lied on the ground as a corpse as she sung the song.”
“I still helped! If I hadn't died she might not've found the song!” Setsuna got in his face.
“Boys!” Kane quickly got in between the two. “Knock it off! Just be thankful that Nigiyaka is dead, okay?”
Sparks flew between their eyes, but they shut up at least. Kane drew away from them slowly and walked over to Ori and Michi. “Hey Ori, how're you feeling?”
He hugged Michi tightly. “Very well, Lady Kane. You killed Nigiyaka just in time”
She smiled slightly as the shadow of a person made her notice that someone was standing behind her. Turning around quickly, thinking it was an enemy, she punched whoever it was that had snuck up on her. Once he was on the ground, she withdrew Teretsu from its sheath. “Okay, who the hell…?! Oh, InuYasha, heh, hi brother…”
He held his bruising cheek in his hand as he looked up in momentary fear. But his trepidation was fast replaced by anger. “What is your problem?! You act like I was a damn demon planning on killing you!” He stood and brushed himself off.
“Warui. I'm just jumpy.” She smiled as she dropped Teretsu into the scabbard at her hip. “Besides, you shouldn't sneak up on me like that.”
“Your ears must be broken or something. And where the hell have you been?! Me, Kagome, Miroku and Sango have been looking everywhere for you and your group!”
Kane shrugged. “Here, there; basically everywhere.” She drew her arms up behind her head like she was lying on a pillow. “Not that we were in any danger…”
“Yeah, if you had been, I wouldn't be talking to you now would I?” InuYasha boasted.
“Are you calling me weak?!” Kane pointed an angry finger into his chest. “Because I just defeated an ancient demon called Nigiyaka who had me under control! Of course, if it hadn't been for my good friends and Koya, I might not've made it, but still!”
As the two inu-hanyou's argued, Mika slapped her forehead from a distance as she looked at them and then at the two still-angry Neko demons. “Those kinds of sibling rivalries are so pointless.”

Somewhere Only We Know
By: Keane
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand.
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me feel complete.

Oh simple thing where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on.
So tell me when you're gonna let me in.
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin.

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me.
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh simple thing where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on.
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin.

And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go somewhere only we know?

Oh simple thing where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on.
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything.
So why don't we go, so why don't we go?

This could be the end of everything.
So why don't we go somewhere only we know
Somewhere only we know somewhere only we know.

I hope you all enjoyed the first movie of Hidden Past Hidden Self. Yes, you heard me correctly. That was only the first movie. The second movie isn't made yet, but I have ideas for it. I plan on putting it on MM.org much further into HPHS, so don't worry about it for a while. My idea will be greater than the first movie, I swear.
I'd like to thank my friends Stephanie (owner and creator of Mika and Nakura), Nicky (owner and creator of Michi and Ori) and Danielle (owner and creator of Yuki and Myrako) for listening to me read Freak Out to them and giving me advice and ideas. Danielle, I know you couldn't hear all of it, so I promise to try and send you a copy from the internet. I'd also like to thank my former teacher, PD, for, while he was here in Wisconsin, encouraging my skills as a writer and being curious. I owe you a lot PD! Finally, I'd like to thank all of my readers (if any) for reading my story and putting up with some of my mistakes and slow updates. Especially Queen of Cuteys for writing the only reviews I have thus far for Freak Out.
I'll be updating as much as I possibly can over the next few weeks or months, how ever long we're without internet. The library will become my friend again. With a second job in my near future, that will also hinder my updates, just be patient. I'm also going to try and edit the current chapters I have uploaded because I read over them on the net and I've found that I made a ton of mistakes.
Arigato!!
