Kathryne-San: (quickly) Nothing.
Starrilight-Hotaru: I distinctly heard the words “Fluffy-sama”. Is Sesshoumaru there!?
Kathryne-San: No, Inuyasha is, though...
Starrilight-Hotaru: But the random lady in the background said Fluffy-sama was coming! Screw this, I'm coming over there!
Kathryne-San: No, no, no! WAIT—
Starrilight-Hotaru: (hangs up)
Kathryne-San: DAMN YOU, RIKKU-SAN!
Rikku-San: (not paying attention) Fluffy-sama, Fluffy-sama, Fluffy-sama...
Ruby-san: Inu-sama better find him.
Kathryne-San: He'd better, or I'll sit him into next year.
Inuyasha: (walks into room) Well, are you happy?
Kathryne-San: What, did you find him?

Ruby-san: Tell me about it. With Rikku-San and Starrilight-Hotaru coming...
Inuyasha: Sesshoumaru will be in a living hell. (wicked grin)
Kathryne-San: Well, he might as well suffer, then. That or we'll have to chain down Rikku-San and Starrilight-Hotaru or something...

Rikku-San: (suddenly alert) What did you say?
Kathryne-San, Ruby-san, and blueangel326: Nothing!
Kathryne-San: Well, while we're trying to figure this out, I'll show you the first chapter of the fanfic. Once again, I don't own InuYasha, but Rumiko Takahashi does.
Ruby-san: So don't sue Kathryne-San!
Kathryne-San: Exactly.
Inuyasha: (wicked grin) Heheheh...

Chapter One: Feudal: A Hanyou's Broken Heart
A true immortal love will not die. It thrives in two hearts, and in this case, the hearts of a human and a hanyou. An honourable love in some eyes, and despicable in the eyes of others. A simple token of affection, accepted or not, can mean so much in time. But love seems to be the last thing on their minds where we start this tale. Destroying a life long enemy is the goal here.
“Kaze no Kizu!”
The mighty blade that was the Steel-Cleaving Fang, the Tetsusaiga, slammed down. A yellow light burst from the edge of the sword, tearing through the sky.
A lone arrow, glowing purple, followed the yellow light. It streamed next to the yellow light.
Both hit their mark.
The target, a hanyou with black tendrils coming from every part of his body, screamed as his blackened soul was torn from his mismatched body. As he died, however, white Shouki burst out of his every pore. His curse at his assailants died in the noise of his screams.
The wielder of the Tetsusaiga heard screams directly to his right.
“Kagome!” he screamed. “Kagome!'
Soon his own voice was drowned as pain ripped through him, erasing his senses.

The lake lapped at the shore, red blood mixing with its blue waters. The water touched the unconscious form of a hanyou with silver hair, wearing a red haorihakama. Green and black gore was scattered everywhere, some floating on the surface. The figure snorted, and opened his golden eyes.
Inuyasha awoke, pain pulsing through his every vein. He groped for the Tetsusaiga and sheathed it. Amidst the blood and blackish-red gore, Inuyasha formed thoughts.
Naraku...he's dead! Wait...am I the only survivor?
And Kagome...
“Inuyasha?” Another voice broke the silence.
“What?”
“You're, you're alive!” the voice said.
“Who's that?”
“It's me, Inuyasha! Shippou!”
Inuyasha opened his golden eyes to stare at the kitsune's green eyes, where he was now standing on his stomach.
“What about...Miroku? Sango?”
“They're alive too.”
“And...Kagome?”
Shippou bowed his head. “I didn't see her, Inuyasha.”
He scrambled up to stand while Shippou leaped off of him. “What? Where is she? Kagome! Kagome!”
“She isn't here,” said another voice. Sango stood up with help from her Hiraikotsu as Kirara turned back into her smaller form. “Damn Naraku!”
“But she was right next to me!” Inuyasha protested. “When I used the Kaze no Kizu-“
“It must have been Naraku's handiwork,” said another voice next to Sango. Miroku stood up, picking up his Shakujou. “That Shouki was unlike anything he has ever thrown at us before...”
“Kagome!” he called. “Kagome!”
“She can't have gone far, Naraku's Shouki could not have been that powerful...”
“She's not dead!” Inuyasha yelled.
Shippou's voice was very small. “There isn't a body...she can't be dead...”
“Damn it! Damn Naraku!” Inuyasha cursed. “Kagome! Kago...”
Inuyasha's voice drifted off to a whisper as he saw the completed Shikon no Tama shining on the ground. He picked it up, speechless.
“Kagome...she...had the Shikon no Tama last...” Sango trailed off.
“But...where could she have gone?” Shippou's voice was panicky. “Where? It's like she...vanished.”
“Vanished with the Shouki,” Miroku said.
“Naraku is dead, how can she have—” Inuyasha started, then stopped.
“What is it, Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha did not answer for a while. “Nothing.”
He placed the Shikon no Tama into his haori.
Sango brushed gore and remnants of Naraku from her Hiraikotsu. “Normally, Naraku's Shouki is not that powerful. I'm sure we'll find her if we look around...”

Inuyasha stayed silent for the rest of the trip. As he walked down the road, a man with a patch over his right eye said, “You seem weary, travelers. Would to seek to stay at my home?”
“Fuck off,” Inuyasha replied rudely.
“Inuyasha!” Sango scolded.
“Thank you, sir, but we are fine,” Miroku said. “Thank you for your concern.”
The group then started to walk away, but the man wasn't finished.
“I hear you're looking for the Higurashi girl.”
All four stopped dead in their tracks.
“WHAT?!” Inuyasha yelled.
“What do you know?” Shippou said quickly.
“I know much. I'm well aware of what you've done. You've killed the hanyou Naraku, the nemesis of all everywhere.”
“What do you know about Kagome?” Miroku said calmly.
“I know a lot. But, evidently, you aren't willing to listen, so I say nothing.”
Inuyasha unsheathed Tetsusaiga in a flash and put the tip of it to the man's throat. The man did not even respond in fear of the mighty sword. He simply lifted his head and let the tip brush his neck, almost daring. His black hair fell off of his face, revealing his remaining brown eye.
“Tell me!” Inuyasha growled. “Or else my Tetsusaiga will be down your throat!”
He smirked. “Your threats do nothing to me. I am not afraid of any weapon. Besides, that Fang cannot hurt humans.”
Inuyasha was rather taken aback by that comment, but recovered quickly. “I don't need to use the Tetsusaiga, bastard,” he said. “Tell us!”
“Let's not be so hasty, Inuyasha,” Miroku said calmly.
“Who are you?” Sango said, channeling the question all of them wanted to know.
“I am a shaman,” the man said. “A soothsayer. A sorcerer. Call me what you wish. But I know about this miko you call Kagome. I know where she has gone. If you stay, I will tell you.”
“Should we trust him?” Shippou said, turning to Miroku.
“I cannot sense anything evil in him,” Miroku said. “I think he is a friend.”
“I expect nothing in return,” he said. “I will tell you and help you in any way.”
Inuyasha sheathed Tetsusaiga. “All right…but if we find out you betrayed us...I'll rip you to shreds.”
The man stood up, ignoring Inuyasha's threat. “Come with me.”

“I am Fukazawa Kanaye,” the man said as they entered his home. It was littered with all sorts of shaman-like objects and smelled of the many incense candles he lit in his home. He gestured them to sit.
“May I have the honour of knowing your names?”
“Kariudo Inuyasha.”
“Enpukuka Miroku.”
“Anrui Sango.”
“Shinkirou Shippou.”
Kanaye bowed. “It is an honour.”
“Enough with the introductions,” Inuyasha sneered. “Tell us about Kagome!”
“Patience, Inuyasha,” Miroku said.
“Kanaye, how do you know about Naraku?” Sango asked.
His remaining eye glinted with sadness and it turned down to the floor, as though it was afraid of making the tears visible. “He...Naraku and his two incarnations, they came to my village...they attacked when we were unprepared... my son, he...lost his soul. He killed many...then himself...even his mother...”
“I know how you feel, Kanaye,” Sango said. “The same thing happened to my brother.”
“Kohaku?”
She froze. “You...how do you know?”
“A boy named Kohaku passed by a few days ago,” Kanaye said, “That looks like you. He told me that if someone named Sango came, to say not to come after him.”
“Why?” Shippou said.
“His memory is still gone. He says he wants to find it by himself.”
“So...you know about Naraku...he's hurt you too,” Miroku said.
“I became a shaman to heal my own pain. It was hard, but now I seek to heal others' pain. Which is why I will help you.”
“Well?” Inuyasha demanded. “Tell us! Where is Kagome?”
“Kagome is in her own time.”
“She went back to the present?”
“That is the effect of the white Shouki. It was the curse on Naraku's dying breath that sent her back.”
“Is she alive?”
“Barely, but yes. She is in a state of sleep. She is not dead, for her heart still beats and her mind still functions. Yet she is not alive, because she cannot walk or talk or eat.”
“And...will she come back?”
Kanaye paused. “No.”
“What?” Inuyasha said. “Why not?”
“Her memory has been erased of this time,” he said.
“Erased?”
The shaman stood up. “I am a shaman, but I am also a clairvoyant.”
“A what?” Shippou asked.
Miroku smirked. “Ah...clairvoyance. That is the ability to see the future, is it not?”
“Close,” Kanaye said. “Clairvoyance is the ability to see something that cannot be interpreted by the immediate senses. In my case, I can see different places at the same time. Using this gift, I tracked Naraku, as well as you. Forgive me for my intruding. Anyway, that white Shouki was Naraku's revenge should he be killed. I think he saw it as a final curse before going to hell. Kagome's memory has been erased. She cannot remember anything of this time.”
“Not even us?” Sango said.
“No. She doesn't even remember you.”
“DAMN HIM!” Inuyasha shouted, standing up, his fangs bared. “DAMN NARAKU!”
“Calm down, Inuyasha,” Miroku said.
“Are you sure about that?” Sango asked hesitantly.
“I am very sure,” Kanaye said. “Naraku had tricks up his sleeve to haunt those he hurt, even after his death. He haunts me, even, reminding me of the fact that I failed to save my son. He was well aware of my clairvoyance...he wanted to absorb those powers, as a matter of fact...I have a scar on my chest to prove it...”
The entire group went silent.
“Do not despair, though.”
Everyone looked up.
Miroku turned to Kanaye. “What do you mean?”
Kanaye's remaining eye glinted, but not in an evil way. “My powers are limited, but in very few ways. If you wish it, I can transport you into her time. It will take a long while for the spell to take effect, though, so if you do not wish to...”
“And how will we know it's not an evil spell you're putting on us?” Inuyasha demanded.
“You may kill me if I do anything wicked-hearted. Believe me, I've waited to die many times and it has never come.”
“He seems rather confident,” Shippou remarked in awe.
“Are you sure that you will be able to?” Sango asked, petting Kirara.
“I am very sure.”
“Let me ask you something,” Inuyasha said. “Are you a real shaman?”
“Yes.”
“Prove it.”
Kanaye put two fingers to his lips and traced a circle on the ground. He started saying something softly, while the traced circle glowed. The circle glowed, and the image of a wolf appeared. Outside, a wolf howled at the moon that was now shining. The image of the wolf grew and grew, until it became the size of a real wolf. The wolf seemed to be made of mist, with a pair of glowing blue-grey eyes. Kanaye held out his hand for the wolf, and it responded by rubbing its head against his palm.
“What the hell are you doing?” Inuyasha demanded.
“It seems there is something only he can see,” Shippou observed.
“You're right,” Kanaye said. “Only I can see it...unless I will it to become visible to others.”
The same wolf then appeared solid in front of them.
“Only a true shaman can summon animal spirits,” Miroku said. “He is real, then.”
“How do we know that you're not after the Shikon no Tama?” Inuyasha was still very skeptic and refusing to believe.
“I do not seek the Shikon no Tama,” Kanaye said. “The search for those shards nearly ended my life. I do not seek such a power.”
The group went silent again.
“Do you wish to go to her time?” Kanaye asked again. “I am willing to help those that have defeated Naraku.”
“I think it sounds like a good idea,” Sango said.
“What do you think, Inuyasha?” Shippou asked.
Inuyasha stayed silent until he said, “I don't know quite yet...I think we should think about it...”
“I respect your wishes,” Kanaye said. “But come back to me with a response, Inuyasha.”
I'm still skeptic about him...he seems too confident... Inuyasha thought. But he promises that if he does anything evil we can even kill him...that's real confident...

The night swiftly came down around the house where Kanaye lived. Inuyasha was outside, up in a tree, thinking to himself.
Finally, Naraku was dead...yet Kagome was gone to her own time. “In a state of sleep”, as Kanaye put it. Even in death, Naraku's threat hung over them...and his curse would never stop, as much as they wanted to.
Keh! Inuyasha thought. Didn't she always want to go back to her own time? Constantly! “I have a life in present time too, you know!” Well, now you have! Happy now, wench?
A voice that was very similar to Kagome's said to him, Inuyasha! How can you think that when you know how you feel for her?
I feel nothing. Leave me alone.
You're wrong, Inuyasha, and you know it. Admit it.
No.
Inuyasha opened his golden eyes to look at the moon. He took out the Shikon no Tama from his haori and looked at it. Finally completed. The group had laboured endlessly to find all the shards, and they had found them...
It seems kinda strange that youkai aren't coming after it...wonder why?
The voice once again returned to haunt him. Kagome nearly gave her life for that jewel, and that is how you treat her? Happy that she is half-dead and will never wake up?
Who the hell are you?
That's not important. Inuyasha, I know what is in your heart. I can see emotion from you. Admit it. The truth will set you free.
No. I will never admit it.
Inuyasha put the Shikon no Tama back in his haori and looked at the moon. She wanted to go back, and I wouldn't leave her alone...hmph. Hope she's happy now...now that she's back in her own fucking world!
Then something struck him like a Hamaya through his heart. Wait...Kanaye...he said that Kagome was almost dead! Dead!
KAGOME!
“I...” Inuyasha said out loud. “I...”
Admit it, Inuyasha.
No matter how much he fought, the voice returned and said it once more. He couldn't take it anymore!
She did everything! Everything to keep the Shikon no Kakera from enemy hands!
“AH!” He screamed finally, so that all the birds in the tree flew away. “I LOVE HER! KAGOME, I LOVE YOU!”

Kathryne-San: What a way to end a chapter, ya? Inuyasha confessing his love for Kagome...heheeh! (insert fangirl-ness here) Another thing: I've decided to update three chapters at a time. Oh yes, here are the translations I got for the names:
Kariudo: Hunter
Enpukuka: Ladies' Man (quite appropriate for Miroku, don't you think?)
Anrui: Silent Tears
Shinkirou: Mirage
Kanaye: Japanese boy name meaning “Zealous One”
Fukazawa: Common Japanese Surname
And after doing a little bit of research (as I am making a Inuyasha costume), I have to come to the conclusion that Inuyasha's outfit is a haorihakama, not a kimono. I also think that because most English-speakers do not understand what exactly a haorihakama is or how it is worn, translations just use kimono, which actually is wrong. Please read and review for my fanfic!
