get behind me and do not move." yelled Kagome as she was once again surronded by Naraku's youkai. She immediately surronded herself and the kit in a strong barrier. All of the approaching demons were purified on contact. When the air cleared of the dust caused by thier passing. Kagome exited the barrier she began to send jolts of her power to her enemies. They came in a relentless torrent. Wave after wave fell on her and her companions. She could see Sango and Miroku fighting back to back. A short distance to thier left Inuyasha was trying valiantly to get to Naraku who was at the back of the fighting watching his minions try to rip the inu-tachi to ribbons.

At one time she would have been petrified to be alone and fighting by herself while trying to save her kit. Now she was stronger thanks to Sesshomaru and his training. He had trained her well in all that he knew. She wished desperately for a sword. Sesshomaru had taught her kendo and she was very good but she would not accept a blade for herself. She still jealously guared thier friendship from all but Shippou. Scared that the others would not understand. Especially Inuyasha. Inuyasha was one of her very best friends now. She had long ago given up on her love intrest in him. In her heart she had known that even if Inuyasha had turned from Kikyo to her that it would still be Kikyo that he turned to. No matter how hard he tried Inuyasha always saw some part of Kikyo in her. So she had let her love of him as a man fade to the love of a dear brother. He was as Sota to her now. But even though he loved her and thought of her as a little sister he would never understand her relationship with Sesshomaru. So she had not taken a blade that would require explanation to the others as to its origins and how she had learned to use it. It was hard enough to hide her abilities in hand to hand fighting along with her increased control of her expanding Miko abilities.
a loud cry of "Mother behind you" broke from the kit causing her to spin quickly around and face the new attack at her back. She quickly crouched into a low sweep kick knocking her attacker off his feet. The tiger youkai jumped to his feet quickly and began to slash at her. Kagome executed a quick backwards flip to avoid the sharp claws aimed at her chest. The tiger kept advancing along with some low level snake youkai. Kagome purified as many as she could but was steadly pushed away from the now panicing kit. She could see Shippou trying to yell something to her but she could not hear him over the sounds of the battle raging around her. As Inuyasha's shout rang out to her she knew that she was in trouble. In that split second her mind processed the fact that she could not create another barrier to protect herself. She was still holding the barrier to protect her kit and at the same time putting the rest of her power into fighing the youkai at her front. As her head came up she could hear Inuyasha shout "Sesshomaru". Her eyes met his one time as she turned Naraku's tentacle pierced deep into her right side in the exact same spot that the shikon jewel had been ripped from her so long ago. At the same time the tiger youkai slashed deeply down her back trying to rip her in pieces. As Kagome fell she could dimly hear her kit screaming her name and she knew that this was the end. She would never be able to tell them all how much she loved them. Never be able to tell Sesshomaru how much she had come to love him. With those thoughts her world went white.
don't get mad. There is still more coming. This is my first fanfic and my poor brain is playing this by ear. It is making me create a plot and a story. Just bear with me as none of this story has been planned. I am just making it up as I go. Now I would like to thank:Adult Fanfiction.
