4 Regrets
bright flash of white light ran across the battlefield as Sesshomaru hurriedly made his way to where he had seen Kagome fall. His Youkai screaming to be let loose in his true form. Amber eyes flashing into a bloody scarlet as he watched the tiger youkai be purified and his ashes scattered as Narku surronded himself in thick viscous miasma to make a quick retreat from the battle. His mind racing with thoughts of blame. Telling him that he knew that something was going to happen. The fates had conspired against him in this one instance. His mind flashed quickly to all that had happened this day.
had arisen with a vague sense of disquiet in his soul. He lay still upon his futon and tried to pinpoint what was making him so uneasy. After several minutes he gave up and passed it off as restless sleep which he had much of lately. There had been many threats to his lands in the recent days. Many lower youkai had been invading his lands destroying anything in there path. Much of his time and energy had been put into defending his property against the growing invasion. He was assuming that Narku was somehow behingd this new threat. But he put such matters from his mind as he lazily rose from his bed to face the day. On silent steps he crossed the room to the screen leading out onto his private garden. Soundlessly he slid the screen open and gazed out at the new dawn. As the first pink rays touched his form he stretched into it's loving embrace. The light touching upon his nude form and making the stunning perfection of his body utterly blatant. He stood for many moments enjoying the solitude before he made his way back across his room to the bathing chambers.
his bath he had made his way into the more formal east gardens to have his breakfast with Rin. He still felt tinges of the nagging feeling to his soul but Rin's constant chatter pushed the matter from his mind rather quickly. They had walked through the gardens for awhile as Rin picked her flowers that she so loved before he decided that he would make one more patrol of his lands. If all was clear then he could check on Kagome. As soon as he thought of her the unease again touched him making his heart give a violent start. "Kagome is in danger." were his thoughts as he opened up his senses. As he did he could feel Narku's many youkai passing quickly to the east. In the instant he felt the direction that all the youkai were headed in he knew they were headed to Kagome. Quickly he made his way into his palace where he strapped on his armour and grabbed his swords. Jaken was charged with keeping Rin from harm as he made his way swiftly after the youkai headed towards his miko.
FLASHBACK~~
only he had let his senses expand upon waking he might have felt the approaching jaki of all the oncoming youkai. Instead he only felt close to his home and gave no passing thought to what might befall his miko. He thought her safe in the area they were in. Narku had not been present for some time and last anyone heard he was to the south. Now due to his stupidity his friend, his miko might be dead.
the thought of dead Sesshomaru's heart gave another violent jerk in his chest as some of the red bled from his gaze. As he neared Kagome he could feel something powerful coming from around her as he got close he was thrown violently back. Upon hitting the ground he caught the smell of her blood on the slight breeze. Immediatley the scarlet hue took over his gaze as he made his way back across the field to try to get through the barrier. As he approached he noticed that a now milky white barrier surronded his friend. He could feel the hanyou, tajiya, houshi and kit all running over. All the other youkai on the field were dead or had fled with Narku. So the only presences he should have felt were that of Kagome , Inuyasha and there friends. So why then did he feel another presence inside the barrier?
