From DemonsTo Dementors
AN- argggg I know I know another AN, this is just to tell you that chapter 10 has been flashed forward 2 days. This is because I don't want to go into too much detail of Souta's training but I'll give you an idea as to how well he is doing, In two days he can now defend him self against a……butterfly that's right people a butterfly, but you know butterflies are more aggressive in Japan! so any ways I just wanted to get on with the plot so we will skip that training session and other than that nothing has changed so on with the show!
Souta was sweating all over as he tried to defend him self against Kagome, of course Kagome was going easy on him, she wasn't even panting let alone sweating.
How does she do it? He wondered but he loved the way she taught him, she was unlike most trainers he had heard about. Instead of telling him what to do she would show it to him then do it with him. For example if she told him to strike a pose and then defend 20 times she would do it along side him. All and all he loved it and he wished it would never end but human limitations were a key factor in this and a major flaw in his plan of never ending training with his sister. Strangely enough human limitations were not key factors in kagome's training or if it was she was sure as hell good at hiding it. As for their mother, well she was still a little pissed off and was not so happy about the whole arrangement.
~flash back~
“I don't want my baby to end up like her” she would say
“The world doesn't need another Kagome” and his all time favorite lecture from his mother.
“If you really want to learn how to use that…thing… then I'll send you to a professional. Not some silly girl who thinks she knows what she's doing just because she thinks she played hero for 5 years” Souta got really angry at that comment. He had never before lashed out at his mother but this was the last straw for him
“Some girl! SOME GIRL! Mother this is Kagome, your daughter, my sister not just some silly little girl! You may not love her like you did five years ago but I still do maybe even more than before. You may be my mother and I love you very much but I will not tolerate you badmouthing Kagome like that!” he was about to storm off when he turned back around to face her and said
“But your right I do need professional training from someone who knows what there doing” he watched his mother's face as it turned into a smug, smart look like she had won some kind of game.
“I'll call….” She began
“No need I already found one” he smiled as he watched his mother's confused face turn to that of delight
“Wonderful! I'm glad your taking this seriously so where is it? How much do I owe? When do you start? And who is he?” his mother asked
“Here, free, now, she not he and me…besides, I'm the only one alive who knows how to use that thing as you so wonderfully called it” Kagome said walking down the stairs with their training gear in her arms. It took their mother a couple of seconds to comprehend what she said but when she did she was not happy and by the time she had a retort to kagome's answer they were already out the door.
~end flash back~
So here they were now, out by the goshinboku putting all of our stress and frustration in his training.
“Hey Souta want a lunch break?” Kagome asked
“Sure I'll go get us some ramen” he called running into the house
“Don't forget the tea!” Kagome yelled back. She jumped up into one of the lower branches of the goshinbuku and started to clean her swords.
“So what do you think? Will he be any good with swordsmanship?” Kagome asked herself
“He will make a fine young swordsman” the female praised
“Puhh he'll need a hell of a lot more training to become a swordsman” the male laughed
“I know…so much to do, so little time to do it in” Kagome sighed
“I never thought I would hear you say something like that, my sad little miko,, it is very strange coming from someone with all the time in the world and more” the malesaid with a smirk
“Will you tell him any thing today?” the female asked
“Yeah probably” Kagome shuddered thinking about the upcoming chat they were about to have. A couple minutes later Souta reappeared with two bowls of ramen, two cups and a pot of tea on a tray.
“Well aren't you efficient” she smiled at his antics. Since she had come home he had done every thing in his power to make every thing perfect for her, she thought it was cute but she didn't like to be treated special.
“Come on down so we can eat” he yelled up the tree as he started to pour the tea perfectly in to their cups. Kagome smiled and jumped down from the god tree. They walked over to the stone bench next to the Goshinboku. Souta passed her bowl and cup to her.
“thanks” she said digging around in her all black training out fit (AN- all most all of her outfits are a female version of Sesshomaru's except all black and red, also no visible armor so unless I say differently or describe a different outfit this is what she is wearing all the time)
“Ah here it is” she smiled pulling a red vial out of one of her many hidden pockets. She licked her lips and pulled the top off. She then put three drops of the thick, crimson liquid in to her ramen and her tea, she waited about 30 seconds and smiled as black smoke rose up from her meal, she blew it out and then started to dig in.
“Kagome? Why do you always do that when you eat? And what is it?” Souta asked
“I put it in all my food and drink because it helps me…kind of like medicine and it's one of the many forms of protection and caution that I take in my life” (takes a bite of her ramen) “oh but just a heads up though Never, EVER! Eat or drink anything that you see me put this into or any thing of mine for that matter, I won't eat or drink any thing that doesn't have this in it but it could kill you if you consume it so watch out!” she said seriously
“well how come you can eat it then?” he asked
“that's all you need to know for now” she smiled at his frustrated look.
“It's good to have you back sis even with your weird little ways” Souta smiled
“Thank you souta… it's good to be back” Kagome smiled back, taking a sip from her tea.
“Think you can tell me what happened in the past now?” Souta asked hopefully
“…..hm…well alright but just a little” she cringed but hid her frown behind her tea cup
“Well it began like ….
(AN-here we go guys, the moment of truth, you finally get to find out what happened)
…this, it was a normal day…well normal for some one like me, when all of a sudden…”
“HOOT!”
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?” Souta jumped up and off of the bench spilling his tea.
(AN- hahahahah you should have see the look on your face! What! You think I'm going to reveal my secrets to you now? Hahaha you've got to be kidding this is way too much fun, I think I'll hold off a bit longer to tell you while I watch you squirm HAHAHAHAH (evil laugh with fire in the back ground) have fun my kiddies )
“That would be a bird Souta” Kagome said dryly. He gave her a deadly glare that was suppose to intimidate her but what he didn't know was that she had lived with the lord of all death glares for many years and she was his only equal when it came to death glares that scare people shitless. They looked up and saw a large snowy owl on the lowest branch of the Goshinboku.
“Hey it's Hedwig!” Souta laughed
“What's a Hedwig?” Kagome asked for as far as she knew it was an owl
“Not what, who… Her name is Hedwig!” he said as if it was common knowledge
“Ok….” She said taking another sip of her tea. Hedwig hooted again then flew down and landed on Souta's arm eying Kagome warily. She hooted again and then scooted down to the furthest way possible from Kagome while still on Souta.
“Don't worry bird I don't like you either” Kagome glared at it hoping it would burst into flames………no such luck…...damn
“Hey, what's th…ouch!...little demon” she muttered sucking on her finger where Hedwig had bitten her
“oh Kagome are you alright? I don't know why she is acting like this, I've never seen her like this before!”
“I'm fine but the bird wont be if it doesn't leave me alone” she glared again at the bird
“there's a piece of parchment tied to it's leg” Kagome pointed out sucking out the blood and spitting it out on the ground to clean out the wound for any infection she might have attained. Souta got the parchment with out any trouble from the owl. he was baffled to say the least
I've never seen Hedwig so edgy around any one except Malfloy before……I wonder what that's all about? Well I guess I'll ask Hagridor maybe professor Lupin, yeah he might know
he then watched as Kagome growled at the bird and glared at it. Startled, Hedwig, flew up to the higher branches of the god tree.
“damn bird! That's my tree!” she scowled at Hedwig one more time before settling back down with her tea. Souta ripped open the seal and read the letter while Kagome ate her ramen, respecting her brother's privacy. She gave Hedwig one last glare before pouring some more tea into her cup and adding three drops of the crimson liquid to her tea.
“There are you happy now Kagome? You managed to scare away a little bird” the female scolded
“I think residing in you mind for so long has taken a toile on you mental state if your fighting with a bird!” the male
“great, just great, even the voices in my head think I'm crazy” Kagome sighed
“ahh but my miko, you should know by now that we are not justvoices” the male purred
“fuck off” kagome growled in her mind
“so what was that paper attached to the blasted birds leg?” the female asked trying to sway the conversation to some thing more important and to give kagome a break form the males attentions.
“a letter I think, but I have never heard of letters being delivered by owls, maybe pigeons and hawks but never have I heard of owls, they areusuallynocturnal but this one it out at noon, well any way Souta seems to know what's going on so I'll find out sooner or later” Kagome went back to eating again
“sooner I would hope” the male mumbled
“hmmm so your brother has secrets of his own does he well we can't have that now can we?... you'll have to read his mind Kagome” the male whispered into kagome's mind
“WHAT? No I wont read my brothers mind, I will leave it up to him to tell me when or if he wants to…and if you remember,, we also have secrets that we haven't told anyone” Kagome sighed again damn my ramen's cold now! She thought angrily. Kagome looked over at Souta waiting for him to speak, she watched his face and wondered why she saw joy in his eyes but sorrow in his aura.
“sooooo” Kagome started him off
“umm…well how do I start?” Souta
“well how about from the beginning where most stories start” she gently pushed
“ ok…ummm guess what sis?...I'm a wizard!...”
