From demons to dementors
“Miko powers, holy powers can't harm humans…” souta trailed off when he saw Sirius's glare. Lupin helped the wounded Sirius to his feet.
“Well then why did he get burned?” Harry asked, supporting Sirius's other side.
“Yes, tell us, why were you burned?” a sarcastic voice said from behind them.
They all jumped, turned around and there was kagome, smug as a cat, lounging on the stairs, eyes narrowed at a growling Sirius. The wizards were silent, now somewhat used to kagomes…. unique way of getting around. Kagome stood up, a few stairs higher than the wizards, giving her the high ground; with a sigh she gave a slanted look to Mrs. black, who in return looked a kagome with a sort of awed look.
“You were right” Mrs. black said to kagome
“Yes” kagome said quietly. She then turned her attention to souta.
“How much do you care for this man?” she asked nodding in Sirius direction. Harry immediately snapped to attention
“What are you going to do to him!!??” he yelled, standing in between kagome and Sirius. Kagome gave Harry an almost bored look
“Kill him,” she said simply.
“WHAT!!?” all the wizards were active now, scrambling about trying to decide what to do
“You cant do that!” Harry yelled at kagome.
“And why cant I?” she took a step down one stair, watching bemused as most of them took a step back.
“Well…well because he is my godfather, I love him!” Harry fought back.
“So?” kagome took another step down
“So? Doesn't that matter to you?” Harry tightened his grip on his wand
“No” kagome shrugged at their open mouths
“Souta?” she said in question. Souta frowned.
“Please don't kill him kagome” souta said directly into her eyes. Kagome lowered her head
“As you wish” she said softly. They all relaxed, just what kagome wanted. She leaped down the rest of the stairs and lunged for Sirius, dodging the too slow wizards who yelled in surprise and protest.
“Good bye” she whispered, thrusting her hand out and grabbing Sirius by the neck, slamming him down, backwards so he was lying on the ground with kagome crouched over him. Her right hand was wrapped around his neck and her left hand was grasping her right wrist. Power crackled around her hand and Sirius began to scream, the wizards tried to reach them but were repelled by a wall of power.
“A barrier” lupin said quietly, peering intensely at kagome and Sirius, trying to see what was happening even though he knew that he would most likely not understand much of that was happening.
“How long have you known?” Sirius gasped
“Come now, it's me were talking about…I have know about your filthy presence before I even opened that door” kagome hissed. Sirius's eyes narrowed
“Ahh, but now they think that you are attacking their dear friend” his eyes turned and looked towards the wizards still frantically trying to save him.
“I care not what they think of me and you know it, why are you here?” kagome's hand crackled in power
“Why? Cant I visit my one and only….” Kagome tightened her grip and growled
“What do you want now?” kagome reeked power
“I just wanted to grace you with my presence…” kagome slapped him across the face
“You are just like your father” she growled in disdain
“I'm hurt, really I am, to think that you see me as just a shadow of father” she slapped him across the face again, this time drawing blood
“Temper…temper, you see, my dear, there is a slight difference between father and I…I actually have the power to go through with all the horrible schemes I have spinning around in my head, whereas father, he was just talk” he smirked
“You are young and foolish to think so” kagome said reasonably
“Because no matter how strong you become, no matter how old you grow, no matter how may people you kill…. I out rank you in everything” she whispered into his ear with a deadly grin. She then leaned back with a cold look of interference. Her power spiked, licking at the walls of her barrier, surrounding her and Sirius' prone form. The wizards gasped and stood still, never had they before felt such power…they realized it then, she could really kill them all if she wanted, them along with voldermort, she could take out thousands, no, millions in a single blink and no one would know, no one would be able to do anything to stop her. Sirius screamed, thrashing uselessly under kagome, blood bubbled up from his mouth, cutting off his screaming and turning it into more of a gurgle. It was horrific, it was graphic…it was torture. Kagome's expression never changed, she was used to this, it was just a duty now, just like brushing ones teeth, you just do it because it is necessary.
“I told you before, never to show your face to me again…most beings heed my warnings, but you never seem to learn do you?” kagome said coldly, inwardly glaring at the black mist that was starting to leak out of Sirius's bloody mouth.
“I always had a special place in your heart” the black mist condensed above Sirius's head, drifting leisurely around kagomes body. Kagome released Sirius's neck, watching his head drop to the ground with a dull thud, he was unconscious, luckily his mouth was open, so the blood just trickled out of mouth, instead of clogging his throat and suffocating his unconscious form. She wiped her hands on her pants and stood up. To the wizards out side of the barrier, it obviously looked like she had just finished killing him.
“My time with you has ended, sadly, I have other places to go, people to kill” the mist rubbed up against kagome's cheek lovingly
“Give father my regards” he chuckled
“You'll be with him soon enough” kagome spat
“Now, now, that wasn't very nice” it twirled around
“I'm not a nice person” kagome took a step towards him, hand radiating power, the black aura turned, trying to make its escape quickly. Even he knew his limits when it came to purification powers, and what kagome was producing in her hand was defiantly past his limits. Kagome frowned at his retreat, not relaxing until his aura had completely disappeared. She sighed and lowered her hand, wishing desperately that time could stand still for just a moment, so she could think, meditate, get rid of her damn headache with out worrying about what might attack her or the ones shoved under her protection. Kagome looked down at the pitiful creature known as Sirius black, still unconscious on the floor, luckily, for him that is, the blood had stopped flowing and was now drying down the side of his face, mouth and head. Judging by the muffled voices on the other side of her still erected barrier, the wizards thought she had gone against her word and killed the man she had vowed not to. Kagome sighed again; some days she just hated humans.
“He's dead…he has to be…” Harry's nose was pressed up against the barrier; he seemed to be in shock. Lupin was speechless, he didn't know what to say, he didn't have the answers. A shuffle from his other side brought his attention to souta, hmmm, he didn't seem to be too concerned. Souta was quiet, patiently watching for any sign that kagome would come out and give him some answers.
“He's dead” Harry moaned pathetically, collapsing to his knees and bowing his head to hide his tears.
“Dead, dead, dead, dead….” He chanted. Souta glanced over at him.
“He's not dead” he said simply, lupin's attention was now back on him.
“Kagome promised that she wouldn't kill him…she may be powerful and she may be emotionless at times but she is a woman of her word, Sirius lives!” souta said without tearing his eyes away from kagome, who was now crouching down to examine Sirius's condition. Kagome glanced back at souta, having heard his little speech, she shook her head almost smiling.
“Now Mr. black, lets see if your soul is still intact” she laid her hand on his chest, unusually happy when it moved up and down with his breathing. A few moments of assessment and she stood back up, turning fully to the crowding wizards. With a small flick of her hand, the barrier fell…and with it, her peace and quiet.
