AN- I have had this chapter sitting in my computer, collecting dust for a little over a month now, but my beta is away in Canada T_T so I felt bad for you guys and decided to just post the un-edited version….mainly to calm down the crazy reviewers who are quite upset with my long absence. So here you are guys, the completely un-edited version of chapter 28.

 

From Demons to Dementors

Once the mirror had absorbed the entire soul it dropped to the ground, looking like a normal, every day, harmless mirror.

“well…that's not something you see every day…”harry blinked

“then you must live a pretty sheltered life, human” a cold, emotionless voice reached their ears.

“huh?” they looked at what they thought was kagome's soulless body but what they found was much, much more shocking. Now all the warnings kagome had given them made sense.

Shit!

“kukuku” kagome laughed, slowly starting to get up from her collapsed position on the ground. She was moving in jerky, uncoordinated movements, symbolizing nightmares long since forgotten.

“kagome?” souta called scared, when she stood up straight and started to drag herself towards them, shuffling her feet on the dusty ground. All he could think of was that movie he watched with kagome a long time ago called “the ring” at the time he thought it was funny because of the whole well thing…but now…

“that's not your sister souta” lupin walked slowly to the front of the group, frantically trying to come up with a plan that protected both kagome and the group behind him.

“how astute of you wolf, it seems to be a rarity amongst your kind, it really is a shame I will have to kill you” kagome raised her head, shocking the group with her blood red eyes filled with hatred.

“you know, she once had a wolf friend…but I killed him…I wonder if she sees him in you, if she sees only a fragment of the memory of him?” kagome chuckled, her head was tilted to the side in an unnatural angle

“kagome…” souta whined pitifully

“I am not kagome, yet, she is part of me… she is mine” kagome smirked, her voice lowering to a deeper, rougher pitch. Lupin's eyes widened…he recognized those eyes…that voice.

“NARAKU!!” lupin roared, his wand pointed at kagome's heart.

“huh? Naraku?” the wizards questioned amongst themselves, feeling quite put out. Souta froze with disbelief and fear.

“I can taste your fear boy, its delightful…I see you both remember me eh? That makes this much more exciting…kukuku” kagome's red lips moved but a man's voice came out of them.

“you're the bastard that hurt kagome!!”lupin growled

“na..na..nara…naraku…” souta stuttered, falling backwards with a thump, trying to crawl as far away from him as possible, hatred towards himself grew strong. `I wanted to help kagome and this is how I act the first time I actually come face to face with one of her enemies, I'm a failure…'

“souta? Lupin?” the wizards were confused.

“I'm so very glad your sister obviously spoke so highly of me” kagome smirked

“how…how is this possible!? Your dead! She killed you!!” souta screamed. Kagome ran her hands through her long silky hair in a way that was so much like the way the real kagome does.

“that bitch did kill my body, but my soul….my soul she kept all for herself, she always did hate to share” the male voice said in a sensual way, giving every one chills up their spines. Lupin's mind flashed with all the hints and clues kagome had given them over the past few days and he didn't even notice.

“I'm just a silly little girl who knows nothing about anything, I just happen to know some fancy tricks with my swords and trick people into believing I can drink poison, but, that's just circus tricks”

“your knowledge is pitiful, little wizards”

“his name has been forgotten to all but a few, the few left alive that bathed in his blood. He was much more powerful then this voldermort guy you all seem so paranoid over, let me tell you… there are more scary things you humans should be worrying about, you are very fortunate to be ignorant of these horrors”

“I have not been miss kagomefor a very…very long time mr.lupin”

“you have no idea how deep and how dark my mind is”

“n..no..don't come near…n..not sa.fe”

“you're not the only trapped voice in my head!”

“I told you I had a dangerous profession”

“when you fight, fight to kill, not to win… only to kill, and don't let the thought of death get in your way. Abandon all fears and just kill. Granted it's dangerous, in the end, it's worth it…knowing that he's dead, and not coming back”

“dead…what is dead?”

“if you mean, has his heart stopped beating, and his body died…then yes he is dead but if you mean, has his soul moved on, has his presence left this world….then no, no he is not dead”

“his name is Naraku and if you wish to live, I wouldn't repeat that name aloud…ever”

“as for where he came from and where he went to, it's none of your concern, all you need to know isthat he is gone from here, and if you are lucky, you will never have to see his face again”

“if I rest, if I sleep, if I take the day off….you will know, and you will regret it”

“my body won't be without a soul”

“Understand that the person in this room once I leave is not me! Do not listen to a single word that they tell you! Be careful! Don't trust them!”

“how could I be so blind…so deaf?” lupin muttered to himself. Inwardly beating himself up for looking at the pretty face and not the warnings behind it.

“the soul of kagome's enemy has possessed her body” lupin explained to everyone

“WHAT?!”

“almost little wolf, but not quite kukuku…it seems I overestimated your intelligence, how very disappointing” naraku laughed. Lupin just glared at kagome in frustration `I can't actually do anything, her body isat risk….damnit!'

“what's the matter? Can't fight me because you see kagome and not me? KUKUKUK” kagome threw her head back and laughed a hearty laugh. Lupin just growled

“oh, I do believe it's time to play” kagome smirked, licking her very red lips. Every one took a step back, still looking at souta's terrified face

“souta, how strong is she?……he?” moody asked gruffly, limping to lupin's side

“ru…run…we have to run…RUN AWAY!!!” souta stood up and started to run for the door. `I have to get away, the sutras are just over there!'

“now where's the fun in running?” kagome disappeared and reappeared in front of the exit, causing souta to run right into her chest.

“ooff” souta fell backwards.

“oh what a surprise I will have planned for my mate when she comes back from those traitorous bitches! I think I will paint the house red, red with her friends blood, starting with her dear little brother” kagome tilted her head to the side, her bangs swept to the side, covering her face…but his eyes shown through, those red eyes

“SOUTA!” the wizards yelled, running to his side…they wouldn't make it in time. Kagome plunged a clawed hand through souta's chest.

“NOOOOOOO!” souta coughed, spitting blood down the side of his face, not hearing his friends cries. He looked up, tears falling from his eyes, at kagome's form hovering over him. He fell to the ground at her feet. Blood started to pool around him.

“ka…kago…why?” his vision blurred, darkening. Kagome brought her hand to her face and slowly licked he fingers clean of her brothers blood.

“good bye brother” kagome raised her hand, preparing to finish off the rest of them.

“souta….” Hermione wimpered

“no..why?” harry cried. Kagome grinned, flexing her claws. She slowly walked towards the remaining members of the group.

“damnit!” lupin cursed, screaming every binding spell her knew and aiming at kagome. She just smirked at the colored beams of light seemed to melt off of her, leaving her totally unaffected by the magic.

“tisk tisk tisk, don't you silly wizards learn anything?” kagome was getting progressively closer, still favoring her claws, lupin noticed.

“why don't you use her swords naraku? Not strong enough?” lupin taunted, desperately grasping to any idea that came into his head. Naraku frowned, kagomes eyes flashed in anger.

“would I if I could human” he spat, glaring at the two swords on her waist.

“oh, so the all mighty naraku cant even handle a piece of metal but a mere woman can? That seems rather pitiful don't you think” lupin tried not to shake in fear, but it was rather hard not to when you are taunting one of the most powerful beings he had ever come across.

“you really do know nothing, those damn swords are soul bound, pitiful humans” naraku shook kagomes beautiful head in disgust. He continued walking towards the defenseless wizards until they were all pushed up against a wall. Naraku grinned a feral grin and chuckled.

“it seems your time has run out little humans, or do you wish to play more?” he ran his hand through kagome's hair again, giving a full view of kagome's familiar features.

“kagome is going to kill you” harry yelled boldly, flinching when her head turned towards him, locking him with her red gaze.

Naraku snickered “is that what you think? What unintelligent beings you truly are…”

“when kagome comes back she WILL kill you and you're going to pay for killing souta, you bastard!!” harry yelled, throwing a punch at kagome's face. A loud slurp could be heard over the many shouts of “harry!” and “NOOO” blood splattered on the floor, joining with souta's and mixing as if in some kind of grotesque dance.

“foolish child, running up to someone who can kill you without question and attacking them is not wise for someone so weak”kagome's words or warning haunted them all

 

AN- I know it's short, but when my beta comes back from Canada, things will fatten up a bit. So what do you guys think? 2 characters possibly dead……many more to go. Then again, most people probably won't get this e-mail alert for a few days because they are too busy reading the new HP book >_<
