From demons to dementors
“Kagome, you have given us much to think about…but I think that this answer is an obvious one” Lupin looked into Kagome's cold eyes, finally understanding what it is that he saw in them, that special little glimmer that made her different from the rest of them.
He saw a survivor
“we sure as hell need your help” he smiled, the wizards reluctantly nodded. They too had realized that they were nothing compared to her, she almost felt proud of the humans, coming to that realization must have taken a lot of inner understanding.
“they are starting to see just how useful it is to keep you around kagome” souta joked
“anything for my fellow human” she placed her hand on her heart giving her best miroku impression
“pwhh! Sure you are…you just here because you get to kill things” souta snorted
“why souta! I'm positively hurt, I only have your best interests at mind” she gasped at being accused of such a vile deed.
“best interests my ass” he mumbled But kagome heard him, smirking she wacked him with her sword sheath
“AHH! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?” souta rubbed his abused head
“language dear brother” she chided, finally taking notice of the other people in the room. They were all staring at her with awe and horror.
“what?” she growled, trying not to show how pissed she was that they saw her being so weak.
“nothing” they looked away, smiling slightly
“now about this room…” she addressed moody, hoping he would just tell her where it was without question.
“ah yes! I had almost forgotten…now, what is it that you will be using it for?” moody limped his way to the stairs, motioning for her to follow him. Kagome cursed they always ask questions don't they?
“You could just kill him before you have to answer”
“Baka! Her brother is fond of the man”
“So?”
“So….so, we can't kill him”
“Weaklings and your stupid human emotions”
“Bastard”
“Wench”
“Prick!”
“Bitch!”
“SHUT UP!”
“SHUT UP!” kagome yelled, not realizing until everyone looked at her strangely that she said it out loud as well.
“sorry, ignore that” she mumbled before following moody, frowning when they all got up and followed her, Mr. and Mrs.Weasly had taken it upon themselves to carry Sirius to his room. They seem to move in packs…I guess it makes sense, survival instincts…strange humans. Moody limped over to one of the empty rooms, facing west bound like she had requested. Kagome followed, looking around the room and nodding when it reached her requirements.
“thank you” she said, walking over to the middle of the room and surveying the ceiling. Unfortunately for kagome, every inhabitant in the black house was now watching her, waiting for an explanation. She sighed
“I need to get some information from some…friends…but to do that I need to leave my body somewhere safe” she glanced at them, frowning when they just stared back at her in confusion.
“really, you call your selves magical beings…I need to detach my soul from my body, my soul will then travel to my allies and I will receive the information I seek, then I will come back and reclaim my body” she smiled
“see, easy” she wiped some imaginary dirt of her hands and gave the room one last glance.
“ahhh…” harry opened his mouth, but no words came out
“what I think he means is, what?” ron tilted his head to the side in complete confusion, he looked to Hermione for answers
“ho..how is that possible, to detach ones soul from their bodies, that is if you even believe in a soul…and…and even if you did, the only way to do that is in death” Hermione frowned, she just didn't understand and she didn't like it, she never really had to be in a situation where she didn't understand something.
“first of all, yes it is possible, second of all, I'm a master of soul removal” she felt her inner selves smirk with her outer self.
“and lastly, I couldn't care less what you think is real and what's not, it's really none of your business to begin with” kagome straitened up letting her full height intimidate the much shorter, younger girl. Souta made a face, he didn't like the way kagome was treating his friend…special friend. Kagome reached into her haori sleeve and pulled out an antique looking mirror.
“there is just one problem with my soul leaving my body….” Kagome trailed off, wondering if it was such a good idea to leave after all
“what could possibly be worse than guarding a soulless body?” lupin joked, chuckling lightly.
“oh no! my body won't be soul less, just not my soul” she smirked, pulling out a few sutras and slapping them on every wall, door, window and ceiling in just a few short heartbeats.
“wh..what?” they sputtered. Kagome threw the mirror into the air in front of her, surprising the wizards when it stopped falling midair to freeze in one position, facing kagome.
“a word of warning, don't open the door into this room while I'm gone, you don't want to end up dead do you?” she smiled, quickly holding out her hand towards the floating mirror.
“kanna!” kagome summoned, the wizards jumped when a little girls face appeared in the mirror.
“kagome, what a ….pleasant…surprise” the little girl named kanna spoke with an eerily empty voice.
“fuck off you little albino dwarf from hell” kagome grinned
“unwanted, cursed bitch” the small girl also cracked a small smile
“it's good to see you kanna” kagome said in a softer voice
“and you too kagome, what have you called me for?” kanna's face went emotionless once again.
“I have been having some family issues as of late and I wanted to talk some things over with you guys” kagome glanced back to see souta's confused and slightly hurt expression.
“this does not bode well for us kagome” kanna warned
“I know, just get me out of here” kagome sighed
“are you sure you want to leave you body, is it safe” kanna actually looked slightly worried
“yes…no…will it ever be safe?” kagome lowered her eyes
“I have warned the wizards of the risks, they are not to open the door, and there is no way they would make it past my barrier anyway” kagome motioned to the crackling sutras place all over the room.
“very well” kanna disappeared from the mirror.
“remember what I said, do not come in her under any circumstances! Understand that the person in this room once I leave is not me! Do not listen to a single word that they tell you! Be careful! Don't trust them!” kagome warned quickly, already feeling the pull on her soul. The wizards could only stair at her as she started to glow a soft bluish white color. Soon a small glowing orb gathered in front of kagome's chest, forming an almost complete circle. What frightened them the most was the dark color of the orb, was a soul suppose to be that dark red color? They didn't have much time to examine it as it flew towards the floating mirror, connecting with a loud cracking noise. Once the mirror had absorbed the entre soul it dropped to the ground, looking like a normal, harmless mirror.
“well…that's not something you see every day…”harry blinked
“then you must live a pretty sheltered life, human” a cold, emotionless voice reached their ears.
“huh?” they looked at what they thought was kagome's soulless body but what they found was much, much more shocking. Now all the warnings kagome had given them made sense.
Shit!
