~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~********DARK*********~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She stalked the night. The full moon watching high above her head as she bound across roof tops and building ledges. Her body covered in black leather holding the weapons she used for her hired tasks. In a way she was a killer but in her mind she was more of a protector.
Growing up alone in the streets of New York wasn’t exactly fun. Living in the sub-way tunnels and doing odd-jobs to get a little food. Once she turned 15 things had a turn for the worst. Alone in the darker part of the city she was raped, but escaped barely.
At 18 a close friend of hers was murdered on the streets and revenge was issued. Lucky no one saw her again kill for the first time in her life. And growing up in the streets made all the easier escape.
A year and a half later, she found herself in a interrogation room under heavy questioning. A trial came month later and she found herself stuck in a position that was a bit integrate or rather complex.
She had no name until that point as she stood in the court room. When the judge asked her what her name was she just shrugged. The officers that questioned her couldn’t even figure out her name. The judge had leaned over the podium and looked her up and down.
Years of living on little food and soft bits of sleep had kept her looking a unhealthy pale and an even unhealthier weight. ‘Do you even have a name?’ He had inquired. She had only shrugged again. He growled. ‘If not then what does everyone call you, I’m sure you have a name other people call you since you are so famous.’ The judge had all but snarled at her.
He called her famous. She had smiled at that. She was a protector of the people. Families called out to her as the mourned a loss and she would come. She had a list. A list of names of people who had killed...well, people. Names with more than 5 marks were killed. She left warnings and most laughed at them but cried mercy as she stood over then waiting for the moment to end their pitiful lives.
‘They call me many things, sir.’ She had seared back. The ‘sir’ was a mock rather than respect towards the man. He had waved his hand towards a officer who stumbled his way over to her. She recognized the youth. Some time ago his family had asked for help. He only nodded to her and lead her back to her cell.
Days later three men dressed in black suits stalked down the small corridor. To stand in front of her cell. Looking at the floor, her hands clasped in front of her knees.
‘You are the ghost that kills the evil?’ One asked, his eyes covered by sun-glasses.
‘Maybe? Who told you?’ She cast a short glance towards him.
‘You saved my brother. I sang to you and you floated to our help. My boss. He is interested in what you have done. He paid you bail and would like for you to join him.’ He smiled at her and she looked up to meet his face.
‘You employer, what is his name?’ Thought she could care less but what the heck.
That’s when he smiled and the cell door opened. ‘He only allows us to call him Inu. Now please follow us and we’ll escort you to the car outside.’ Standing in a smooth motion. Not one jerk in motion. The man smiled and stepped out of the way so she could go. Walking down the empty halls and into the office. From there out into the evening.
Outside sat a long limo. The door was opened by a man wearing black. He looked out into the distance as she was ushered in.
The drive was silent and keeping her head bowed, hair covering all view of her face.
‘I believe these belong to you.’ The young man from before handed her a hand full of belts. Reaching out, grabbing them and fastening to the areas the belonged in silence. It was nice to have the 30 some knifes, daggers and swords back against her flash.
Two belts strapped across her back to hold a total of six swords in different positions along her spine. Four smaller belts fastened to her thighs to hold two set of four throwing stars and two 23' daggers. Four more belts strapped to her forearms to hold four knives in wrist sheaths. Three normal belts tied around her waist holding more throwing weapons and an uncountable amount of different length blades.
In truth it had taken most of her poor life to get most of them, using job and donation money. Each time she got a new addition she would work throughout the week working on a series of moves to use with it.
The limo stopped outside a skyscraper. New York was famous for them and she know all to well how high some could reach. Being led up to the near top floor and into a office the size of the building.
No one seemed to be in the room at the time. Walking down the five step entrance she looked around memorizing the room and every detail possible. One down fall to the room; one exit.
One door to the right of her open and a tall man walked out. He was white, no tan just white but not pale. He had amber eyes and high cheeks. Firm body...yes. But the most stunning was the silver hair. In the end he was handsome but walked with an aura of wealth. One thing she could care less about.
‘Hello’ he had introduced with a smile that touched his eyes. Looking her over with admiration and a small tint of lust.
Rolling her eyes. She held up three fingers; thumb, forefinger, and middle finger. Flicking them in a wave to the side. She said no words and showed no emotion.
‘Your are free to go whenever you want; however, I wish to ask a....favor.’
She could tell that ‘favor’ wasn’t the word he wanted to use. Looking him up and down once again with trained eyes before taking a step forward and flopping down sideways into a leather chair, feet handing off the left arm rest, back on the right.
‘A business man on the other side of town has made attempts on my life many a time. He has killed over 20 of my workers.’ He took a seat behind a glass desk and clasped his hands. ‘I am mayor of this city, and own Scorpio medical plants. So you see I have money and power.’ Once again she rolled her eyes. ‘I want you to kill him and any other person I ask, in return for living quarters, food and utilities. Do we have an agreement?’
She looked around the room. Sure that would be nice but she didn’t do this for money, she did it for the satisfaction of knowing someone’s death was avenged and the families could live in peace. Locking her eyes with his she looking deep down. None of it was a lie, that was for sure. One brow rose up a little. ‘And the people?’Her voice was neutral.
‘You can still service them when ever but must service me as I call for you.’ He pushed a folder towards her, on top was a set of keys and a sticky-note with a address wrote on it.
Grabbing the folder not touching the keys she flipped through the fuzzy pictures and papers on a man. She read the name and reached into her shirt top to extract a crumpled piece of paper. Reading down the list she located the name less than half way. Four marks.
‘Do you wish for his head or anything? A...trinket?’ Watching the man as she asked.
‘No, leave no trace however.’ he leaned over the desk trying to look at her paper. Folding it she slipped it into the shirt before he could see anything.
‘I will need armor and 16 hours.’ Scanning the file again.
A large box was pulled from somewhere behind the desk and slid towards her. ‘It fits, I hope.’
She looked at the box and tossed the file to the ground and pushed the lid open in a smooth motion. Inside sat a pile of leather. She pulled it out and looked it over. Just by first look she could tell the chest held a bullet-proof vest or something similar. It was full body. On the bottom of the box held matching boots and a hair thong.
Standing in one motion with hardly any movement she undid all the weapons and kicked off her shoes and the worn pants. Slipping on the leather and then removing the shirt to pull it over the chest. However, her bra wasn’t meant for it. Sighing she pulled it off to and slid the leather over her arms reaching back to zip it up.
‘Wait I’ll get it.’ She had watched him leave the desk from the corner of her eye. He had moved behind her and she could feel him thought he was far from touching her. His hands grabbed the zipper and it moved easily up her back. His hands moves over her shoulders and down her back. Sliding to the front of her hips so the tips of his fingers rested dangerously close to the junction of her legs. Never once did she move or twitch.
‘I take it your not a virgin.’ He whispered.
‘No.’ She offered no explanation or clue to the story.
His hands slipped slightly lower. Within hardly a second she turned and had her hand firmly around his neck. ‘Now, I will take my leave.’ She growled low and quickly fastened the belts back in place with trained practice. Taking the thong and tying her knee length hair up.
Taking a step away from the man she turned and left.
The run to the far side of town took almost an hour. Luckily she could run for days. A building exactly like the once she had left loomed ahead of her. Looking at it’s glass exterior she smiled at the light on the top floor. The entrance was blocked by two guards. Running into a dark alley she stopped at one of the may power and sewer man-holes. Climbing down the filthy ladder and trekking toward the building. Another man-hole was above her and she climbed the ladder. And came up in the basement of her destination.
The elevator climbed up the floors silently as she pressed herself closer to the top of the metal box. It came to a halt and the doors slid open. Looking down slightly she saw no one. Jumping down without a sound she crept forward. Ahead of her stood a door with a plaque. On it was inscribed the name of her target. Grabbing the door handle with a gloved hand she opened the door with ease and crept in shutting it quickly. It was quiet, the large room was empty but she smiled noting their were no cameras and the room was sound proof.
A man short and obese walked out from a side room. ‘Who are you?’ He jumped startled.
‘Who are you?’She questioned back.
‘James C. Mortermer.’ He waddled towards her and held out a hand.
‘Nice to meet you.’ She made no move to take his hand.
‘Now who are you?’ His eyes looked her up and down growing slightly larger at the mass amount of weapons.
She unlocked one of the daggers at her thigh and slid it out of the sheath with a ring. The man in front of her stepped back and fell to his rear with a thunk.
‘Lets take a walk shall we?’ She fingered the blade edge. Grabbing him by his shirt she pulled him out the door and into the waiting elevator.
Traveling into the basement she led him to the man-hole. ‘You were warned now it’s time for your end.’ The dagger pressed against his back behind his heart.
‘Please I beg of you.’ He cried tear slipping down his face. The dagger went through the cloth suit and slightly into his skin. ‘Please.’ She drove her weight forward and the dagger slid through his ribs to his pounding heart. Drawing out the blade she wiped it off on his suit coat and pushed him into the sewer. He landed with a splash and went under.
Climbing out of the man-hole she replaced the cover and began running back to her new employer.
Two men opened the doors for her and nodded. She walked to the elevator and took it up the 11th floor. She walked soothly to the door and just walked in. If he didn’t like it, too damn bad.
Her employer sat at his desk. She walked up and tossed a large diamond stud onto the desk in front of him. She had slipped it out of her victims ear earlier.
He looked up at her. ‘What’s this?’
‘What’s left of my target.’ She took her chair sitting like she had earlier and drew out the dagger. Helping herself to a Kleenex she wetted it with her tongue and cleaned off some of the old blood.
‘What target?’ She looked up to his smiling face. The man never existed. That was fine with her.
Smiling to herself and snorted softly.
Happy that her dagger was once again clean she arched her body up and slid it back into place locking it there.
‘You said 16 hours.’
‘And I got it done in less than 4. Got a problem?’ She growled staring at his eyes with no fear.
The man laughed, he laughed. ‘Not a problem doll. Call me Inu Yasha.’
‘I’m no ones doll.’ She stood in a smooth step and walked to the window, throwing her gloves into the chair, staring out at the city. From this view she could see across the whole city. Below cars honked and drove around like ants.
Arms wrapped around her waist and a hot breath of air floated across the shell of her ear. ‘I want you.’ She gave no response and continued to stare out at the city.
‘I may work for you, but I doubt you’ll ever have my bed.’ She finally responded.
‘Oh come on.’ He pulled her closer to him and she fought back the instinct to plunge a knife in his gut. ‘Please?’ His tongue licked at the nap of her neck. One hand left her waist and undid the thong holding up her pitch black hair. It hit the light and gleamed blue for a second. Inu Yasha let her hair fall out of his hand and stuck his face on the side of her neck taking a deep breath.
‘What are you?’ He whispered.
She didn’t answer but just turned her head to the side. There was no harm in letting him play a little. He smiled in triumph. Inu Yasha took and wrapped a arm around her and tilted her head a small amount before biting down hard but not to draw blood. The woman gasped and by the look of her body he could tell she liked it..a lot.
‘You’re a hanyou.’ She panted as he sucked at the bite.
‘Yes I am.’ He bit again next to the last.
This time she moaned and wrapped an arm above her around her neck. ‘Again.’
He chuckled and dropped the cover spell. His ears shifting to small triangles on his head covered in fine silver hair. The once dull nails shifted to sharp claws and his dull teeth to fangs.
‘You might just get into my bed.’ She panted leaning her head against the cool glass.
‘What are you?’ He whispered.
‘Alone.’ Standing straight up she stepped to the side and his arms turned her roughly into his body. She looked at his new changes and let the edge of her mouth twitch with a smile.
‘No, what are you?’He growled.
‘A witch, a miko, whatever you wish to call it.’ She turned her head to avoid his gaze. Most people were scared of her but he made no move to push her away like the rest of the world.
‘So you know what it’s like.’ He took her chin in one hand and forced her to look at him.
‘The hate, the fear, the loneliness?’ She whispered.
‘Leave us.’ He roared not letting his eyes leave hers. She knew of the two men standing in the room and listened as they left. The door shut and silence continued.
Staring into the amber eyes of her employer she couldn’t help but see relief.
He kissed the corner of her mouth and let go. ‘I am hundreds of years old. Born in the feudal era of Japan. My mother died after my birth in a fire and my father died protecting her. The only family that was left was a half-brother that despised me. I grew up slowly hiding from the world. Working and saving. Far below this city is a vault of every kind of metal thought of. In it is my life savings. Billions of dollars in gold and paper.’ He took his seat and held his head in his hands. ‘A few years ago my half-brother took a mate or wife as humans call it, and left to somewhere unknown.’ She took her seat but sat proper watching every move he made. She would listen cause he was just like her. She felt connected to him.
His story stopped there and silence stretched.
‘I was abandoned. At the age of two, when my powers started to show and my grandfather stole me from my mother and dumped me. A elderly woman took me in and sent me to school, fed me and clothed me. But she died from a mugging gone wrong. I took and sold all she had at 12 and found a teenage boy to buy me my weapons. I practiced day after day in the subway tunnels. At 13, I started helping at a small store in the dark side of town and got 12 dollars a week for food. That continued till I was 15. Walking back to the subway to my little home the boy who bought me my weapons came out of the shadows and grabbed me. He raped me behind a building and pulled out a gun and shot me. I woke up in the hospital and snuck out that night. I returned to my home and stayed there till I healed more. During that time a girl moved in farther down the tunnel from me. She and I became friends. The night after I turned 18 she was shot in alley by a drunk man. Taking 6 bullets she died there on the sidewalk. That night as midnight came I tracked him down and killed him to avenge my friend.
People called out to me and I came. Some families paid me back with money, food, clothes, whatever they could.’ She looked up and the ceiling feeling her employer’s eyes burn into her. ‘I started a list a few years ago of people. I can’t say that I wish my life was better, but I know that people can rest knowing that someone will do something for them since no one else will.’
‘Can I see the list?’ He asked.
She reached into the tight area of her collar and pulled out the crumpled paper. She gently handed it to him and watched as he unfolded it and read it.
He folded it and handed it back to her. ‘My name is on there but its to the side.’
Looking at the list she nodded. ‘I’ve heard people talk of you, the great Inu Yasha Takashi.’ She smiled and replaced the paper in it’s place.
‘Ah.’ He smiled. ‘What is your name you never said.’
‘I don’t have one, will at least that I know of.’ She stared at the burgundy carpet.
‘Oh, well come here.’ He moved back from the desk and motioned her back. She stood and walked slowly around the desk. He offered a hand and pulled her into his firm lap. She turned sideways and looked at his face. His hand snaked around her waist and he rolled them closer to the desk opening the top drawer to the right. Extracting a needle he shut the drawer again.
He had one for purposes. He heard one time that his demon blood would control him. Each week he drew blood and would send it to his scientists hoping that there was no change in the balance. So far he had been lucky.
She tensed in his lap and fisted her hands. He wouldn’t hurt her, she knew it because he had waited for someone like her but, that didn’t stop her from pulling a 7' blade from her wrist sheath.
‘If you put that in me I won’t die.’ He muttered watching her.
She began shaking with the force to not do it.
‘Take of all my weapons.’ She whispered feeling pathetic. He sat the needle down and began slowly to do as told.
Once the last belt was removed his hand clasp over hers holding the knife. She placed her other hand over the blade and squeezed. The metal bit deep.
‘Do whatever you were going to.’ She hissed.
Inu Yasha grabbed the needle and took off the protective top and plunged it quickly into her arm drawing out some blood and replacing the lid. Her grip lessened and the blade fell to the floor with a thunk. She cradled her hand as the blood ran down into her armor.
Setting the full needle on the desk he grabbed her hand and examined it. Growling he unzipped the back of her armor and motioned for her to slip her arm out. She slid her arms out of the top and shook her hair forward to hide her breasts. The blood ran to her elbow.
Growling again he stood with her cradled in his arms. He walked to the door she saw him come out of the first time she was here. He kicked open the door.
She was laid down on a king size bed covered with satin sheets. He walked over to a large oak dresser with a mirror and pulled out a shirt. It was red and large. Tossing it to her she slipped it on and pulled her hair out of the back. The blood dripped off her elbow and her bent her head licking the blood up and back up her arms to keep it in her palm rather than other places.
Inu watched her with interest. ‘What? Better to keep it in the body.’ He smiled at her and walked into another room she guessed was a bathroom.
While he was gone for a second she slid off the rest of her suit and tossed it on the back of a chair. She settled in the middle of the bed licking at her cuts. The cool sheets were nice after having the tight leather on for hours.
Inu Yasha came back with a wet cloth and bandages. ‘You have two choices; I clean and bandage your hand and you not use it for two weeks or I heal it and you sleep with me.’ He grinned.
She growled at him. ‘Whatever.’ She held out her hand and looked away from him. His cool hand touched her slightly warm one and she felt him start wiping away the blood with the wet cloth, sitting a foot or two from her. It was soon replaced, however. She snapped her head to watch him as his hot breath raced over the cuts. She flexed her hand, the cut along the web of her hand and down shifted and stretched painfully. The second cut along the bottom crease of her fingers scrunched and skin stuck to skin with fresh blood. Inu Yasha grabbed her wrist and held it still as his other hand extended her fingers. She watched as his tongue probed the first cut and licked at it. He lifted his head, cracked his neck and started on the second one.
She looked at her hand in amazement. There were no scars, no sign she had cuts. She flopped back on the bed and stared at her hand flexing it and examining the skin.
Inu laid down beside her and wrapped a hand around her waist tugging her back into his chest.
‘Sir, may I get a shower first?’ She whispered.
‘Ya, give me a minuet.’ He kissed her neck and stood. He grabbed a towel and a toothbrush and took them to her. ‘Help yourself to whatever is in there.’ He smiled and she took them with a thank you.
She scrubbed herself red under the burning hot water. Steam filled the air making it hard to breath. She scrubbed her head with shampoo twice. Shaving her legs quickly before getting out. Brushing her teeth and using what she guessed was his brush she redressed and hung up her towel on a rack next to his.
She stepped out of the bathroom and to the bed where Inu Yasha lay watching TV. He looked over at her and gasped at the woman.
‘I brought your knives and stuff in here. There are two under the pillow, a sword under the bed and a couple in the drawer. The rest are in my closet.’ He smiled at her as she crawled into the bed next to him.
‘Thank you again.’ She whispered pulling the covers up around her.
‘Your welcome.’ He turned off the TV and clapped so the lights went out also.
She closed her eyes. A arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her to a firm body. She snuggled close to Inu Yasha he laughed a little and kissed her neck. She found herself falling asleep in his arms. It felt right.
Inu Yasha smiled as her breathing evened out and she relaxed against him. He kissed her lips for a moment and slipped off to sleep holding her small frame against him.
The sun rose over the horizon as Inu Yasha woke. Beside him the phone was ringing. He reached over and put it to his ear. ‘What?’ Information was spilled out to him as he sat up and wiped sleep from his eyes. ‘Ya thanks.’ He hung up the phone and looked over at the woman at his side. Her hair was in every direction on the bed. She lay tangled in sheets and one arm was flung off the bed. He smirked and pulled her, sheets and all, into his lap. She groaned and wiggled closer to him, head resting on his shoulder. When she was awake she was very unemotional and cautious, but now as she sleeps he could only see an angel.
Her eyes fluttered open and looked up into his. ‘Morning.’ He kissed her head and smiled.
‘Morning.’ She yawned and snapped her head towards the office door. Before Inu Yasha could see she had a blade in her hand. A knock echoed through the room seconds before the door opened. A man dressed in a purple suit walked in his black hair tied into a ponytail at the back of his neck.
She flipped the knife and with little motion threw it. It embedded itself into the door frame next to the mans head. She drew another from air and threw it before Inu Yasha could stop her. This time the knife flew between the visitors legs and into the floor. The man gulped and raised both hands as two closed around her waist and arms.
‘Now we don’t want to kill Miroku, he’s safe.’ Inu laughed. ‘Miroku this is my new assassin, Kagome.’ Her head jerked to look into his eyes. ‘Blood tests came back this morning; your name is Kagome Higurashi, born; March 19th, mother; Kieko Higurashi, father; died 10 years ago from cancer.’
Kagome nodded. ‘Thank you.’ He smiled and lifted her out of his lap.
‘Miroku out.’ The man at the door took one more look at the knife embedded in the door and left. Inu crawled out of bed and walked to the dresser. Kagome watched as he pulled on a pair of baggy jeans and a tight shirt. He started lifting out pair after pair of jeans and finally tossed on to her along with a belt. He replaced the pants and opened another drawer and sorted out a white undershirt. He tossed it to her. Kagome wiggled out of the bed sheets tangled around her and pulled on the jeans, She threaded the belt on and tightened it to fit. Looking up at her boss she looked around, ‘where are my old clothes?’
‘I had them taken.’ He continued looking through the drawers.
‘What am I suppose to do for clothes then?’ She pulled off the night shirt and slid on the tank top.
‘I’m taking you shopping.’ He looked her over and shut the dresser moving to the closet. She crept over and looked in. It was fair size. He looked over at her again and tossed a hoodie to her. She pulled it on and watched as he nodded in agreement. He led her out and into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and her hair with him. Inu Yasha took her hand and pulled her towards the office door.
‘Are you hungry?’
‘A little.’ She confessed but the little was given away by a large roar from her stomach. Inu laughed and pulled her out into the large office. The man so called Miroku sat in her chair spinning around.
‘Oi, is Sango here?’ Inu Yasha growled as they walked over.
‘Ya she’s talking with someone on the second floor.’ He waved a hand and spun again.
‘Well come on.’ He pulled Kagome to the exit and Miroku followed moments later.
‘What about my weapons?’ She tugged at her wrist to go get them.
‘They’re fine in my room. Besides you don’t need them.” They climbed into the elevator and down the second floor. A tall woman with brown hair and slim figure got in with them.
‘Kagome this is Sango.’ Inu Yasha said still holding her hand. .
‘Hello’ Kagome extended her hand. Sango took it and gave a firm handshake. Kagome returned the firmness and they met gazes.
Sango slung an arm around her shoulders. And smiled.
Kagome changed the hold on Inu Yasha’s hand taking and threading their fingers together. He looked over at her and smiled. Kagome nodded to him and walked out the doors as they opened.
Breakfast was first, then shopping. Kagome watched as Sango held shirt after shirt up to her. She crossed her arms and stood around.
Inu Yasha leaned over to her ear, ‘bored?’
Kagome turned and glared at him with a look that could kill. He laughed and caused many people around them to look at them. Kagome slapped his chest and he grinned showing fangs. Miroku stood to her other side. He had his hands in front of him at Inu Yasha’s orders. Sango held another shirt up, this one pink with some lace and beads.
‘Ok I draw my line, no way in hell an I wearing that.’ Kagome growled.
‘But its cute.’ Sango protested.
‘Do I look cute?’ Kagome’s brow raised.
‘But pink is your color. It makes your skin look tan not white.’ Sango countered.
‘My color is black and blue, my skin is white because I don’t like the sun. And for and extra note, I’d rather wear men’s cloths then girls, only because of my job. Girls clothes are too tight and I can’t move in them.’ She tucked her shirt in her pants and tighten the belt to the last hole. She gathered the extra material of the hoodie and tied it in a knot. She stomped to a clear main aisle. Inu, Sango and Miroku followed and stood back from her.
Kagome twisted and leaned hand doing a 180 back bend into a one hand handstand. She placed the other hand down and turned to face the three watching her. She changed hands again and spread her legs to do a wide split. A couple on the other side of the rack turned to watch her. Kagome closed her legs and turned to face the long aisle. No one dared step in it as they watched her.
Kagome flipped backwards and hopped forward spinning in the air and flipping holding her body in and landing to do a series of flips with no hands her legs walking her along in a left, right, flip, left, right, flip pattern. The store’s customers and workers all lined the aisle to watch. Kagome stopped as the road turned and ran doing a series of forward flips. Right before the aisle ended she turned and her body spun sideways. She landed and spun doing one last flip onto one of the racks. Amazingly she wasn’t out of breath.
‘That’s just air, ground is a bit faster and tighter.’ She addressed Sango. Inu Yasha grinned and nodded ushering to the aisle. Sango turned to him her mouth slightly wide. Miroku was shocked as ever.
Kagome flipped off the rack and walked to stand in front of her small group. She lowered herself to the ground in a split move. She had never done this outside of a real fight or practice. Her arms reached back to pull her into a handstand. She started moving her hands in a circle as her feet spin in a whirlwind. She closed her eyes and dropped her body closer to the ground as her legs dropped to a ground kick that would drop a person to the ground. She stopped spinning brought both legs to the out side of her arms holding them above the ground. She jumped and her feet shot out and behind her and she landed in a push up position her lower body inches off the ground. A drop of sweat fell and she lowered her body to the ground and whipped out with a leg and the force spun her around, she raised up slowly, now usually she would do a roundhouse kick, but instead she extended a socked foot and stretched it out to the said of her, her body moving smoothly as every as she spun again and dropping low and kicking out before rolling to her back and to one knee. She pushed with her toes and stood in a clean motion.
Her clothes falling back into place and she untied the hoodie. Slipping on the skater shoes she had, Kagome crossed her arms and looked at Sango.
‘I refuse.’ She smiled.
Miroku dropped to the ground and Sango’s mouth dropped another few inches. Inu Yasha just grinned.
Clapping around her snapped her back to the reality of the mall. The store echoed as people clapped. Kagome turned and bowed once before returning her gaze at the woman.
Miroku stood and brushed himself off. ‘Well Lady Kagome, let us lead you to more...suitable clothes.’ He smiled and elbowed Sango who only nodded dumbly.
Inu Yasha reached out and grabbed Kagome’s hand leading her to the mens section. Him and Miroku helped her pick out clothes. Sango got over the shock and started helping as well.
They checked out and Inu Yasha led her deeper into the mall. Sango and Miroku trailing behind a few stores looking through the windows at stuff.
‘How did you learn all that?’ He looked at a store they passes.
‘I snuck into one of the art schools in the evening. I hid in the shadows and watched girls do the moves and later did them myself. But I train harder than all of them, I strengthened my arms and legs so I could to the push up with out my feet, so I could knock someone into a wall. They had safety I didn’t.’
Inu Yasha looked over at Kagome and nodded. He too did the same thing.
‘Would you be mad if I took you blades to be sharpened. I was looking at them when you were in the shower and some are a bit dull.’ Inu watched her face.
‘No, but I would feel weak.’ She admitted looking at him.
‘I understand. That’s why I want you to stay with me until they are done.’ He looked into her eyes and smiled.
‘I guess.’ She continued walking and staring ahead of them.
He grabbed her hand and tugged her into a store and watched as Sango and Miroku strolled by. Kagome watched until they passed and finally took a look at the shop. It was small but everything was black. She smiled and began looking around. She came to a wall of jewelry.
‘I never thought you this type.’ She looked back at her boss as he watched her.
‘What type?’ His brow raised and she smiled.
‘You are a business man and the mayor, I never thought you would be into goth and punk.’
Inu smiled and let out a sigh. ‘I may be rich and over 500 but I’m only like 19.’ Kagome laughed and continued looking at the wall of jewelry. ‘That one would look good on you.’ He pointed to a half ring with a green ball on one end and a chain with a dog bone on the other.
‘I like it but don’t have pierced ears or stomach. My life means more than jewelry and nice clothes.’ She turned and looked at him. ‘Im sure you know what that’s like.’
‘Ya I do, life before anything else. I have a question.’
‘Shoot.’ She looked a more of the stuff.
‘How are you with pain?’ He whispered in her ear.
Kagome stiffened and turned slowly to meet his eyes. ‘It depends.’ She stuttered.
He grinned and led her to the counter. He covered her ears and whispered to the clerk who nodded. She was led into the back and to a reclining chair. The door shut and locked. Kagome’s hand went to her back and found nothing. Her instinct for protection went out the door and turned to fear. Inu Yasha’s arms wrapped around her and felt a little safer. He pushed her gently to the chair and she laid down on her back breathing hard. The man came from the shadows holding two needles and a silver half ring. She wiggle on the chair and Inu Yasha was right there over her hand on one side of her face making her look at him.
He looked at the stranger and nodded and returned his gaze to her.
Kagome felt a cold hand lift up her shirt and the needle seconds later as it pressed into her skin. The pain came as hot fire through her veins to settle in the bottom of her stomach. Inu Yasha placed his hands on her shoulders and leaned down pressing soft kisses to her face and neck. She bit back a moan as a second needle pressed against her skin. Inu Yasha nipped at her neck.
‘Don’t do that.’ She gasped so only he could hear. He laughed and stopped. The sliver half ring was pushed into the small hole and the end was snapped on.
‘Done.’ The man muttered standing up. Inu Yasha nodded thanks and the man left.
Kagome lay panting and sweating on the table. She looked down at the ring now on her stomach above her belly button. Inu Yasha watched as she laid there. The smell of her arousal assaulted his nose and it was taking a lot of control to not take her then and there.
Kagome blinked and turned her attention to Inu Yasha. She offered a weak smile and closed her eyes falling into a light sleep.
Kagome woke up in the arms of someone in a room. The sun was to the east and the sky was a warm orange and pink. She groaned and turned her head away from the sun. A husky chuckle made her look back towards the offending light and into amber orbs.
‘Hello.’ Inu Yasha smiled and leaned back against the head board of the apartment. Sango and Miroku had left hours ago right after dropping her stuff off with him.
Kagome snuggled closer to him and wrapped her arms around him as she buried her face against his neck. He breath causing waves of pleasure to settle at his groin.
Kagome cracked an eye as something pressed against her rear. She blew air on his pulse point and the thing pressed harder. He heard him whimper and his arms around her waist tightened.
Someone knocked on the door and the moment was ruined.
Inu Yasha growled and let Kagome up to answer the door. She came back holding a letter she tossed it to her boss and busied herself looking around her new apartment.
‘I have to go to the office, if you want you can join me and afterwards we can go sharpen your weapons.’ Inu Yasha walked into the kitchen barefooted. Kagome turned to look at him.
‘Let me change.’ She smiled and shut the cabinet. He watched her walk to the room and sort through her new clothes. He watched as she took off his and slipped on a bra and new underwear. He watched as she pulled on a tank top and a baggy pair of jeans like the ones she had just taken off. She pulled on a pair of socks and pulled her hair from the shirt and walked back out to him.
Inu Yasha took a breath and grabbed her hand taking them to the door and out. Kagome tied her shoes as they rode to the building.
‘Kagome?’ Inu Yasha looked out the door and watched as the town passed slowly.
Across from him she looked up. ‘Yes?’
‘Will you go out with me? Dinner and something?’ He continued to stare out the window not wanting to see her face if she said no.
Kagome stared at him and noticed his ears droop a little when she remained quiet. She felt a tug in her chest and looked down. They were so much alike and he understood. For the first time in her lame life she found someone who understood the pain. ‘I would love too.’ She whispered. She looked at the carpet of the limo floor.
Inu Yasha didn’t miss a word and smiled finally looking at her. ‘We didn’t buy you anything formal.’ He grinned. He watched as her mouth dropped. Kagome crossed her arms and snorted. Inu Yasha laughed and reached out for her hand. Kagome accepted it and was pulled into a strong chest.
‘Your beautiful.’ He whispered into her ear.
‘If you don’t stop treating me I’ll get soft and can’t do my job.’ She replied seriously.
‘Now we don’t want that.’ His lips pressed against her neck and moved down to her collar bone.
‘No we don’t.’ She tilted her head and let him continue.
Inu Yasha smirked. Mine. He bit gently and slid a hand to the inside of her thigh.
The car came to a halt and a minute later the door was open. Inu Yasha growled low and let Kagome crawl out of the car. He grabbed her hand as they walked into the front doors and to the elevator.
They walked into the office and Kagome growled seeing yet another person in her chair. Inu Yasha looked her and tugged her forward. The two chairs spun to face the new arrivals.
‘Hi Inu Yasha.’ A perky girl addressed him. Kagome looked from the girl to her boss.
‘Rin! It’s nice to see you...brother.’ He nodded to the second man in the room. They we defiantly related. The man sitting in her chair had silver hair and amber eyes. Four purple cheek stripes and a crescent moon on his forehead marked himself as a full demon. Kagome could smell poison in his aura and wanted nothing more than to put a knife in his heart.
Inu Yasha felt the woman next to him start to squeeze his hand. He pulled her back a few steps and leaned in close to her ear. ‘Under the bed is your two swords, on my side of the bed is my sword if it helps you can put them on and come back out. Though I think it would be a good idea to put on a couple of blades on under your clothes.’ Kagome stepped back, nodded and headed to the bedroom without a word to the guests. She felt a pair of eyes burn into her back. Shutting the door once she was safely in the other room.
Finding the three swords, she fastened hers to her back in their place and Inu Yasha’s to her hip where she guessed he wore it. She quietly moved to the night-stand on her side of the bed and opened the drawer without a sound. Inside lay two of her thigh knives. She picked up the pillow and found one of the long daggers. The two knives she threw at Miroku this morning had been replace and set in the middle of the bed. She strapped them on her forearms and pulled each checking for draw speed. Inu Yasha’s was the only new one and she got use to it in seconds, then again she didn’t have much of a choice. However she found the left side of her body heavier and headed to the closet. Inside, behind a bunch of clothes, she located her other weapons. It took her seconds to put the many belts on. She jumped and was happy with the weight. Smiling to herself she headed back to the office. Inu was sitting in his chair looking very aggravated. She entered the room silently and walked to the group. She came into view and stood behind her boss leaning against the window. Two sets of eyes settled on her. The woman who was address as Rin was plainly scared. Her eyes showed it all. However, the demon was a bit unsettled at the sight of her.
Inu turned his chair to look at her and motioned her forward. She leaned her hip against the glass desk and waited for any kind of orders. He had after was paying her for a somewhat type of protection, though she doubted he would need it being a half demon.
‘Kagome this is Sesshomaru, my brother I told you about, and Rin, his mate.’ Inu looked at her and silently gave his approval of her choice.
‘What is the meaning of this?’ The demon growled.
Kagome eyes locked on him but she never moved her body.
‘She is my new assassin. A guard if you will.’ Inu motioned towards Kagome his voice was normal and held nothing.
‘But she is human!’ The demon stood in rage.
‘Excuse me!’ Kagome turned and stared at him with her own rage.
‘Speak when spoken to wench.’ He countered.
Kagome had a knife drawn and was on the other side of the desk pressing it to the offending man’s throat before anyone blinked. Sesshomaru’s hand glowed green and he lashed out at her.
Kagome was out of reach and crouched close to the ground.
‘I figured as much.’ She growled, one that could rival any dog.
‘If you plan on fighting my I request you take this upstairs.’ Inu spoke up.
Kagome relaxed and snorted standing straight. ‘I’ll fight dog breath.’
‘Insolent woman.’ Sesshomaru growled. Kagome’s brow rose and she walked smoothly to the group again.
‘Idiotic man.’ She smirked. Mouths dropped and the demon’s eyes flashed red. Walking behind Inu Yasha she ran her hands up his back and over his shoulders to his chest, she pressed her body against his back and kissed his clothed body. ‘Im going upstairs to mess around.’ She cast and evil glare at Sesshomaru and walked causally out.
‘What. Is. The. Meaning. Of. This?’ Sesshomaru ground out. His eyes flashed red again.
‘She is the best in this city.’ Inu shrugged and took his seat again. Rin relaxed into her seat. Sesshomaru however stayed standing.
‘I come back to New York and find you with that! She’s a street slut.’ His voice was near a yell. Inu Yasha lowered his ears.
‘Do you know her rep.?’ He asked matching his brother’s glare. ‘The whole city knows what she does. She’s killed 16 people. Nine of which were mob bosses. She killed Mortermer last night in less that four hours. We’ve been trying for 13 years!’ Inu Yasha stood and slammed his hands on the desk. ‘I’ve kept her from death row. The cops are scared of her but, they are grateful she’s killing the deadly people. The humans have hope. They look up to her as a guardian. Yes she came from the street but she’s just like me. A survivor.’ He took his seat. ‘I like her. I like her a lot.’
Sesshomaru smirked. ‘You’ve fallen as I have.’ He laughed. A toe curling laughed echoed off the walls and Inu cringed.
‘I think I have. Yes, it is true however, she may be human but she is a miko. She is as well train as you if not better.’ Sesshomaru growled. ‘We went shopping today and Sango pushed her to wear something cute. Kagome turned around and said no that men’s clothes were better and flat out showed the whole damn store why. I retrieved the video later.’ He pulled a tape from a desk drawer and slipped it into a VCR. The TV coming smoothly out of the desk. He flipped the screen around and grabbed the remote. He moved to the side with his brother and sister-in-law. Sesshomaru sat finally.
The tape started and Inu Yasha pointed out their group. Sango held up the pink shirt and Kagome crossed her arms. They watched as she told Sango off and stomped into the aisle. Inu watched as her shoes were discarded not noticing it the first time. She started her moves and could only be amazed again watching from a different view as the girl twisted in ways not possible. Kagome stood on the clothes rack and Inu Yasha stopped the tape.
‘She is standing very balanced on a metal clothes rack 4 feet from the ground, half her flips were higher than that. As she stood on that rack she stated very clearly that what she just did was just air.’ He started the tape again. ‘This is some of her ground. These are most likely her fighting moves because...’ he pointed as Kagome extended her foot, ‘that was suppose to be a kick, I saw it in her form as she set up for it. Surprisingly she’s very hard to read.’ Kagome stopped and the group disappeared from the camera view.
‘That’s not possible for a human.’ Rin gasped. ‘I took gymnastics for 11 years, I can’t even do a quarter of that.’ Her hand pointed to the screen.
‘I’ll tell you the thing that shocked me is a move that even I can’t do. She holds her whole body off the floor un a push up position.’ Sesshomaru’s head snapped to look at his brother who was leaning down next to him between him and Rin.
‘Impossible.’ He stated in disbelief. He couldn’t even do that.
Inu Yasha rewound the tape and froze the frame where Kagome was holding herself up. He pointed to the woman. ‘There.’ At the angle of the camera you couldn’t see it but the look of her body she was in push up position but there was no way of telling if she was off the ground or not.
‘I must see this for myself.’ Sesshomaru stood. Rin stood after him and Inu straighten himself leading them to the elevator and up to the top floor.
Inu Yasha, Rin, and Sesshomaru walked in to the cement room to see Kagome stretching her leg at an impossible angle behind her head. She looked up and lowered her limb. The lights overhead laminated the room in a bright glow. In the corner a stereo blared out some kind of techno music. A pile of weapons next to it.
‘Can you show us what you dd in the store this afternoon. But do your kicks and everything.’ Inu Yasha requested.
Kagome bit her bottom lip. ‘I don’t know, it’s my practice routine. I guess I can.’ She looked over at Sesshomaru and Rin.
Stretching one more time quickly she jumped up. Leaning back twisting she did a 180 into a one handed handstand. She shifted for a better grip. Her legs split to form a more than full split. She closed her legs and flipped backwards and hopped forward spinning in the air and flipping holding her body in and landing to do a series of flips with no hands her legs walking her along in a left, right, flip, left, right, flip pattern. She ended feet from the wall. This was the same thing she did in the mall. Kagome stopped and ran doing a series of forward flips. Right before the wall came she turned and her body spun sideways. She landed and spun doing one last flip Amazingly she wasn’t out of breath....again.
Sesshomaru watched with a trained eye. Rin’s mouth had dropped open.
Walking to the middle of the room, Kagome lowered herself to the ground in a split move. Her arms reached back to pull her into a handstand. She started moving her hands in a circle as her feet spin in a whirlwind. She closed her eyes and dropped her body closer to the ground as her legs dropped to a ground kick that would drop a person to the ground. She stopped spinning brought both legs to the out side of her arms holding them above the ground. She jumped and her feet shot out and behind her and she landed in a push up position her lower body inches off the ground. A drop of sweat fell and she lowered her body to the ground and whipped out with a leg and the force spun her around, she raised up slowly, doing a roundhouse kick, her body moving smoothly as every as she spun again and dropping low and kicking out before rolling to her back and to one knee. She pushed with her toes and stood in a clean motion. Her clothes falling back into place
Sesshomaru held him emotions but was amazed. A human could do what he couldn’t. He, in person, had witnessed her holding her body off the ground.
Kagome sat down with a almost silent thunk and stared at the group. Inu Yasha was the first to move, he walked over the her and sat down behind her, his hands messaging her muscles.
‘Your not tight, or tired.’ He said shocked.
‘Am I suppose to be?’ Kagome looked back at him confused.
Inu Yasha looked at her a second and then to his brother. Sesshomaru walked over and Inu Yasha moved so the demon could kneel down. His hands continued what Inu Yasha’s had been doing. A hand moved and the other pressed to the middle of her back. She continued breathing normally and looked back to see what was going on.
‘Her heart isn’t even fazed.’ Sesshomaru lost his mask and the emotion if shock was very clear on his face. ‘You have a spell on though, what is it?’
‘A cover spell.’ She mumbled look back and at the floor.
‘Drop it.’ It was a command and she flinched . Her knees pressed into her chest and she shook her head.
‘No, I can’t...I won’t.’
A cool hand touched her cheek and she pulled away from it. ‘What are you hiding?’ Inu Yasha whispered. He kneeled down in front of her and tried to look at her face but she hid it from him.
‘The pain.’ She whispered back.
‘Drop the spell. Please. For me.’ Inu Yasha pressed.
‘Take her out of the room.’ Kagome looked at Rin. Sesshomaru asked Rin to leave. The girl looked confused but left anyways saying she would be waiting in the office.
Time ticked by and Inu Yasha was about to talk again when Kagome stood and rip her shirt off. Sesshomaru watched.
The spell wrapped tightly around Kagome dropped and she felt naked under their eyes. Her body was covered in dark scars. Her left eye had one reaching from hair line to jaw. Her back was covered as if damaged by a whip. Her arms also covered as if she had at one time cut herself. Her legs were covered in marks that looking like they had been blown up in small areas to only heal with darker skin. Kagome’s arms were wrapped around her stomach but from what Inu Yasha could see she had even more there, they looked more like stab wounds. On her shoulder though stood out 3 bullet wounds.
‘What happened?’ He breathed reaching out to touch one.
‘You can’t live on the streets all our life and expect to be safe. I kept falling into the wrong hands and use for anger. You can’t walk down the street and not run into someone not in the same problem as you and not get mugged, most of the time you get cut up. My line of work includes getting down and dirty, some of them are from people who fought back. The bullet wounds on my shoulder are from when I was raped. Some are from glass also that was used in fights.’
Her throat tightened and she wanted to cry but no tears came. Her body grew cold. Inu Yasha lunged forward and held the girl close to him. She held on to him and took in the feeling of safety.
Someone pressed against her back and she welcomed the extra warmth.
‘No one should suffer as you have.’ Sesshomaru whispered.
Kagome laughed but it sounded bad. ‘I have many weaknesses but this is not one. I hide because there is nothing I can do.’
The door opened and shut. Three sets of eyes turned to look at Rin. ‘Uhh...I’m hungry.’ She stammered looking at the group.
Sesshomaru moved over to her. ‘Would you like to join us?’ He looked at his brother and Kagome.
‘Kagome?’
Kagome shrugged and placed her spell back on. When Inu Yasha looked again there were no scars to be seen. She left his embrace and turned the music off and strapped on all the blades again.
‘Wait, Kagome show me some moves with my brother’s sword, usually it won’t let anyone touch it and yet you are wearing it.’ Sesshomaru turned back and all eyes were back on Kagome. Inu Yasha has noticed it too.
Kagome drew the blade and started swinging in a trained motion. After a minuet the blade began to sing and she sped up twirling and spinning the blade. The ancient sword sung a soft tune and both demons were mesmerized. Kagome came to a stop and sheathed the blade cleanly. She walked over to Inu Yasha who was breathing heavily. He smiled at her and she smiled back unsure of what had happened. Sesshomaru shook his head, that song was still in his head.
‘If she did that! I wanna see what she does with Tensega and Tokijin.’ Inu Yasha composed himself and wrapped and arm around Kagome’s waist. They walked to the other couple and headed out with them to the elevator.
At they stepped into the night air Kagome’s head snapped to the south. She stopped and closed her eyes. Inu Yasha looked at her with concern.
‘I got to go.’ She untied his sword and handed it to him. ‘Someone’s calling for me.’
‘Your armor is in the apartment. I’ll be there when we’re done eating. I’ll grab something for you too.’ Kagome nodded and started running down the street.
Inu Yasha watched as her form disappeared into the night.
~Now~
Kagome bound across roof tops and ran across ledges. Her leather protecting her from the night’s cool air. Her weapons ready for draw. She stalked the night one last time before returning to her new apartment. All night she had been thing about the last few days. Inu Yasha was probably done eating and was now waiting for her safe return.
Her apartment was just around the corner it had been a quiet night. She had put another mark on the list for some gang. She had all the gangs on her list and most of them had close to 9 marks, but it was a group thing and she et to figure out how to deal with a gang.
She dropped down in front of her door and yawned. Walking slowly up the stairs she entered hall. There were only two doors, one for her room and another for someone she didn’t know.
She stopped in front of her door and it opened before she could knock or open it herself.
Rin tackled her into the wall behind her. Kagome was to shocked to move. She was to tired to really do anything.
“Thank god your safe. Inu Yasha told us why you had to leave. We picked up food and came straight here.” Rin let go and looked Kagome up and down. Kagome’s arm was wrapped around her stomach. Rin looked at it and pulled her into the apartment.
Inu Yasha was at her side as soon as she cleared the door. Sesshomaru looked up from the couch.
“I smell blood.” He growled. Kagome gently moved her arm.
“I had a run in with some robbers. I had to wait for the cops to show up. Lucky for me the first cop of scene was a friend’s brother-in-law.” Kagome dropped her body into a chair.
“Is the bullet still in there?” Inu Yasha told Rin to get the first aid kit and where it was.
“No, I took it out.” She tired to stand again but fell back in the chair. “Damn this to hell.” She growled, unbuckling her belts she dropped then to the side of the chair.
Sesshomaru looked at her again and continued to type something on a laptop.
Rin came back with the first aid kit and a change of clothes. Kagome reached back and unzipped her armor and slid the shirt over her head, then removed the top of her suit. She placed her arms in the t-shirt sleeves and moved to pull off the rest of the armor.
The blood had dried and had smeared over her stomach coating her new belly ring in a thick layer of blood. Rin handed her the cotton night shorts and Kagome pulled them on. She was to weak to hold the cover spell.
“If I scare you Rin im sorry.” Kagome dropped the spell and the scars slowly began showing. Rin bit back a scream and let tears run down her face.
Inu Yasha pushed up Kagome’s shirt and inspected the dry wound. The shot had taken her in the right side but with the direction of the wind and running the blood had smeared to the left. Rin handed Inu Yasha a wet rag and she wiped it all away and opened the wound against taking the dry blood off so it bled fresh. Kagome hissed and sucked her stomach away from him causing blood to flow faster. Inu Yasha wiped more of it away and used his free hand to open the first aid kit, drawing out a bunch gauze pads.
He moved the rag and pressed the pads to the wound and reached back for gauze wrap. He started wrapping the wound after Kagome relaxed. He tied it off and pulled her shirt down.
“That will have to work since you won’t go to the hospital and they won’t do much more than that.” He stood up and looked down at the woman. “Hungry?”
Kagome nodded and tried to stand but only managed to fall into Inu Yasha. He caught her and placed her back in the chair.
“Stay here. I’ll get it.” He left the room with everything and Rin stood by staring at Kagome’s scars.
“Did they hurt?” She whispered after awhile.
“Some of them. But you get use to ignoring them all together.” Rin’s hand shook as she reached out. Her fingers lightly touched Kagome’s arm tracing the scars.
Inu Yasha came back holding a steaming plate holding what looked like a medium rare steak and some rice.
“I noticed you don’t eat much, there’s more though if you want it.” Kagome accepted the plate and took a bite.
Kagome finished eating and placed the plate on the floor. “I don’t expect you to stay all night and worry of me.” She said to Rin and Inu Yasha. “But I’m going to bed. Thank you.” They looked at her as she walked to the bedroom.
“Are you ready Rin? We can come back later in the week and check up on her if you want.” Sesshomaru stood closing the laptop. Rin looked at Inu Yasha.
“I’ll watch her.”
Rin and Sesshomaru took their leave and Inu Yasha went to the bedroom. Kagome was under the covers passed out. He smiled and took off all but his boxers and climbed in next to her. He pulled her to him minding her wound. He kissed her gently and went to sleep.
The sunrose high outside and was into the afternoon when Kagome started to wake up. Inu Yasha lay beside her watching her. She smiled at him weakly and buried her face in his chest.
Inu Yasha stroked her head and purred. Kagome fell into a light sleep again.
It was dark when she woke again and Inu Yasha was still beside her. She looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back and pulled her closer to him. Kagome watched his eyes shut and took a chance. She stretched up and pressed her lips to his softly. Inu Yasha was shocked and was unsure of what to do. Kagome pulled back and hid her face in his chest.
Outside thunder crashed and lightning lit up the room though the blinds. Kagome groaned. Inu Yasha recovered from the kiss and took her chin and tilted it up to look at him. Kagome looked at him and her crashed his lips to hers licking her lip she opened up a little of him. He took his chance and slipped his tongue in, playing with her own.
Kagome found herself on her back with him on top of her grinding his hips into hers. Kagome gasped as another crack of lightning tore through the night.
“We can’t do this, not till im healed.” She whimpered. He growled and dropped his head to her chest.
“Your right.” He rolled to her side and pulled her to his body again. “But your scent is driving me crazy.” Kagome blushed thankful he couldn’t see. It was the stupid storm. The rush of a storm was a turn on and she almost wanted to let him but with her wound she couldn’t risk losing any more blood.
“Inu?” She whispered.
“Ya?” He moved her hair and kissed her neck.
“Is there something between us?”
His kisses stopped and he thought hard. “You can say that.”
“What’s between us?” She turned in his arms and looked him in the eyes. Inu Yasha took a shaky breath.
“I have fallen in love with you, and my sword answers to you. My demon side is calmed by you. Even freaking Sesshomaru says it. The whole damn world is setting us up so that we are mates.” Inu Yasha growled. “It’s not a bad thing but I don’t want to move to fast and end up losing you. As a friend, a lover, or a safe zone.” He held her tight and never wanted to let go.
Review and let me know if you have any ideas you think would be good in the story. I know it’s moving at bit fast, however; if this story goes for a long time and gets over 40 chapters then I don’t want to be stuck in a week time frame. Review and I’ll update as soon as I can. Plus, I might need a person to read it before I update to check on my spelling, punctuation and grammar :P I may be in high school but im not perfect.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~********DARK*********~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She stalked the night. The full moon watching high above her head as she bound across roof tops and building ledges. Her body covered in black leather holding the weapons she used for her hired tasks. In a way she was a killer but in her mind she was more of a protector.
Growing up alone in the streets of New York wasn’t exactly fun. Living in the sub-way tunnels and doing odd-jobs to get a little food. Once she turned 15 things had a turn for the worst. Alone in the darker part of the city she was raped, but escaped barely.
At 18 a close friend of hers was murdered on the streets and revenge was issued. Lucky no one saw her again kill for the first time in her life. And growing up in the streets made all the easier escape.
A year and a half later, she found herself in a interrogation room under heavy questioning. A trial came month later and she found herself stuck in a position that was a bit integrate or rather complex.
She had no name until that point as she stood in the court room. When the judge asked her what her name was she just shrugged. The officers that questioned her couldn’t even figure out her name. The judge had leaned over the podium and looked her up and down.
Years of living on little food and soft bits of sleep had kept her looking a unhealthy pale and an even unhealthier weight. ‘Do you even have a name?’ He had inquired. She had only shrugged again. He growled. ‘If not then what does everyone call you, I’m sure you have a name other people call you since you are so famous.’ The judge had all but snarled at her.
He called her famous. She had smiled at that. She was a protector of the people. Families called out to her as the mourned a loss and she would come. She had a list. A list of names of people who had killed...well, people. Names with more than 5 marks were killed. She left warnings and most laughed at them but cried mercy as she stood over then waiting for the moment to end their pitiful lives.
‘They call me many things, sir.’ She had seared back. The ‘sir’ was a mock rather than respect towards the man. He had waved his hand towards a officer who stumbled his way over to her. She recognized the youth. Some time ago his family had asked for help. He only nodded to her and lead her back to her cell.
Days later three men dressed in black suits stalked down the small corridor. To stand in front of her cell. Looking at the floor, her hands clasped in front of her knees.
‘You are the ghost that kills the evil?’ One asked, his eyes covered by sun-glasses.
‘Maybe? Who told you?’ She cast a short glance towards him.
‘You saved my brother. I sang to you and you floated to our help. My boss. He is interested in what you have done. He paid you bail and would like for you to join him.’ He smiled at her and she looked up to meet his face.
‘You employer, what is his name?’ Thought she could care less but what the heck.
That’s when he smiled and the cell door opened. ‘He only allows us to call him Inu. Now please follow us and we’ll escort you to the car outside.’ Standing in a smooth motion. Not one jerk in motion. The man smiled and stepped out of the way so she could go. Walking down the empty halls and into the office. From there out into the evening.
Outside sat a long limo. The door was opened by a man wearing black. He looked out into the distance as she was ushered in.
The drive was silent and keeping her head bowed, hair covering all view of her face.
‘I believe these belong to you.’ The young man from before handed her a hand full of belts. Reaching out, grabbing them and fastening to the areas the belonged in silence. It was nice to have the 30 some knifes, daggers and swords back against her flash.
Two belts strapped across her back to hold a total of six swords in different positions along her spine. Four smaller belts fastened to her thighs to hold two set of four throwing stars and two 23' daggers. Four more belts strapped to her forearms to hold four knives in wrist sheaths. Three normal belts tied around her waist holding more throwing weapons and an uncountable amount of different length blades.
In truth it had taken most of her poor life to get most of them, using job and donation money. Each time she got a new addition she would work throughout the week working on a series of moves to use with it.
The limo stopped outside a skyscraper. New York was famous for them and she know all to well how high some could reach. Being led up to the near top floor and into a office the size of the building.
No one seemed to be in the room at the time. Walking down the five step entrance she looked around memorizing the room and every detail possible. One down fall to the room; one exit.
One door to the right of her open and a tall man walked out. He was white, no tan just white but not pale. He had amber eyes and high cheeks. Firm body...yes. But the most stunning was the silver hair. In the end he was handsome but walked with an aura of wealth. One thing she could care less about.
‘Hello’ he had introduced with a smile that touched his eyes. Looking her over with admiration and a small tint of lust.
Rolling her eyes. She held up three fingers; thumb, forefinger, and middle finger. Flicking them in a wave to the side. She said no words and showed no emotion.
‘Your are free to go whenever you want; however, I wish to ask a....favor.’
She could tell that ‘favor’ wasn’t the word he wanted to use. Looking him up and down once again with trained eyes before taking a step forward and flopping down sideways into a leather chair, feet handing off the left arm rest, back on the right.
‘A business man on the other side of town has made attempts on my life many a time. He has killed over 20 of my workers.’ He took a seat behind a glass desk and clasped his hands. ‘I am mayor of this city, and own Scorpio medical plants. So you see I have money and power.’ Once again she rolled her eyes. ‘I want you to kill him and any other person I ask, in return for living quarters, food and utilities. Do we have an agreement?’
She looked around the room. Sure that would be nice but she didn’t do this for money, she did it for the satisfaction of knowing someone’s death was avenged and the families could live in peace. Locking her eyes with his she looking deep down. None of it was a lie, that was for sure. One brow rose up a little. ‘And the people?’Her voice was neutral.
‘You can still service them when ever but must service me as I call for you.’ He pushed a folder towards her, on top was a set of keys and a sticky-note with a address wrote on it.
Grabbing the folder not touching the keys she flipped through the fuzzy pictures and papers on a man. She read the name and reached into her shirt top to extract a crumpled piece of paper. Reading down the list she located the name less than half way. Four marks.
‘Do you wish for his head or anything? A...trinket?’ Watching the man as she asked.
‘No, leave no trace however.’ he leaned over the desk trying to look at her paper. Folding it she slipped it into the shirt before he could see anything.
‘I will need armor and 16 hours.’ Scanning the file again.
A large box was pulled from somewhere behind the desk and slid towards her. ‘It fits, I hope.’
She looked at the box and tossed the file to the ground and pushed the lid open in a smooth motion. Inside sat a pile of leather. She pulled it out and looked it over. Just by first look she could tell the chest held a bullet-proof vest or something similar. It was full body. On the bottom of the box held matching boots and a hair thong.
Standing in one motion with hardly any movement she undid all the weapons and kicked off her shoes and the worn pants. Slipping on the leather and then removing the shirt to pull it over the chest. However, her bra wasn’t meant for it. Sighing she pulled it off to and slid the leather over her arms reaching back to zip it up.
‘Wait I’ll get it.’ She had watched him leave the desk from the corner of her eye. He had moved behind her and she could feel him thought he was far from touching her. His hands grabbed the zipper and it moved easily up her back. His hands moves over her shoulders and down her back. Sliding to the front of her hips so the tips of his fingers rested dangerously close to the junction of her legs. Never once did she move or twitch.
‘I take it your not a virgin.’ He whispered.
‘No.’ She offered no explanation or clue to the story.
His hands slipped slightly lower. Within hardly a second she turned and had her hand firmly around his neck. ‘Now, I will take my leave.’ She growled low and quickly fastened the belts back in place with trained practice. Taking the thong and tying her knee length hair up.
Taking a step away from the man she turned and left.
The run to the far side of town took almost an hour. Luckily she could run for days. A building exactly like the once she had left loomed ahead of her. Looking at it’s glass exterior she smiled at the light on the top floor. The entrance was blocked by two guards. Running into a dark alley she stopped at one of the may power and sewer man-holes. Climbing down the filthy ladder and trekking toward the building. Another man-hole was above her and she climbed the ladder. And came up in the basement of her destination.
The elevator climbed up the floors silently as she pressed herself closer to the top of the metal box. It came to a halt and the doors slid open. Looking down slightly she saw no one. Jumping down without a sound she crept forward. Ahead of her stood a door with a plaque. On it was inscribed the name of her target. Grabbing the door handle with a gloved hand she opened the door with ease and crept in shutting it quickly. It was quiet, the large room was empty but she smiled noting their were no cameras and the room was sound proof.
A man short and obese walked out from a side room. ‘Who are you?’ He jumped startled.
‘Who are you?’She questioned back.
‘James C. Mortermer.’ He waddled towards her and held out a hand.
‘Nice to meet you.’ She made no move to take his hand.
‘Now who are you?’ His eyes looked her up and down growing slightly larger at the mass amount of weapons.
She unlocked one of the daggers at her thigh and slid it out of the sheath with a ring. The man in front of her stepped back and fell to his rear with a thunk.
‘Lets take a walk shall we?’ She fingered the blade edge. Grabbing him by his shirt she pulled him out the door and into the waiting elevator.
Traveling into the basement she led him to the man-hole. ‘You were warned now it’s time for your end.’ The dagger pressed against his back behind his heart.
‘Please I beg of you.’ He cried tear slipping down his face. The dagger went through the cloth suit and slightly into his skin. ‘Please.’ She drove her weight forward and the dagger slid through his ribs to his pounding heart. Drawing out the blade she wiped it off on his suit coat and pushed him into the sewer. He landed with a splash and went under.
Climbing out of the man-hole she replaced the cover and began running back to her new employer.
Two men opened the doors for her and nodded. She walked to the elevator and took it up the 11th floor. She walked soothly to the door and just walked in. If he didn’t like it, too damn bad.
Her employer sat at his desk. She walked up and tossed a large diamond stud onto the desk in front of him. She had slipped it out of her victims ear earlier.
He looked up at her. ‘What’s this?’
‘What’s left of my target.’ She took her chair sitting like she had earlier and drew out the dagger. Helping herself to a Kleenex she wetted it with her tongue and cleaned off some of the old blood.
‘What target?’ She looked up to his smiling face. The man never existed. That was fine with her.
Smiling to herself and snorted softly.
Happy that her dagger was once again clean she arched her body up and slid it back into place locking it there.
‘You said 16 hours.’
‘And I got it done in less than 4. Got a problem?’ She growled staring at his eyes with no fear.
The man laughed, he laughed. ‘Not a problem doll. Call me Inu Yasha.’
‘I’m no ones doll.’ She stood in a smooth step and walked to the window, throwing her gloves into the chair, staring out at the city. From this view she could see across the whole city. Below cars honked and drove around like ants.
Arms wrapped around her waist and a hot breath of air floated across the shell of her ear. ‘I want you.’ She gave no response and continued to stare out at the city.
‘I may work for you, but I doubt you’ll ever have my bed.’ She finally responded.
‘Oh come on.’ He pulled her closer to him and she fought back the instinct to plunge a knife in his gut. ‘Please?’ His tongue licked at the nap of her neck. One hand left her waist and undid the thong holding up her pitch black hair. It hit the light and gleamed blue for a second. Inu Yasha let her hair fall out of his hand and stuck his face on the side of her neck taking a deep breath.
‘What are you?’ He whispered.
She didn’t answer but just turned her head to the side. There was no harm in letting him play a little. He smiled in triumph. Inu Yasha took and wrapped a arm around her and tilted her head a small amount before biting down hard but not to draw blood. The woman gasped and by the look of her body he could tell she liked it..a lot.
‘You’re a hanyou.’ She panted as he sucked at the bite.
‘Yes I am.’ He bit again next to the last.
This time she moaned and wrapped an arm above her around her neck. ‘Again.’
He chuckled and dropped the cover spell. His ears shifting to small triangles on his head covered in fine silver hair. The once dull nails shifted to sharp claws and his dull teeth to fangs.
‘You might just get into my bed.’ She panted leaning her head against the cool glass.
‘What are you?’ He whispered.
‘Alone.’ Standing straight up she stepped to the side and his arms turned her roughly into his body. She looked at his new changes and let the edge of her mouth twitch with a smile.
‘No, what are you?’He growled.
‘A witch, a miko, whatever you wish to call it.’ She turned her head to avoid his gaze. Most people were scared of her but he made no move to push her away like the rest of the world.
‘So you know what it’s like.’ He took her chin in one hand and forced her to look at him.
‘The hate, the fear, the loneliness?’ She whispered.
‘Leave us.’ He roared not letting his eyes leave hers. She knew of the two men standing in the room and listened as they left. The door shut and silence continued.
Staring into the amber eyes of her employer she couldn’t help but see relief.
He kissed the corner of her mouth and let go. ‘I am hundreds of years old. Born in the feudal era of Japan. My mother died after my birth in a fire and my father died protecting her. The only family that was left was a half-brother that despised me. I grew up slowly hiding from the world. Working and saving. Far below this city is a vault of every kind of metal thought of. In it is my life savings. Billions of dollars in gold and paper.’ He took his seat and held his head in his hands. ‘A few years ago my half-brother took a mate or wife as humans call it, and left to somewhere unknown.’ She took her seat but sat proper watching every move he made. She would listen cause he was just like her. She felt connected to him.
His story stopped there and silence stretched.
‘I was abandoned. At the age of two, when my powers started to show and my grandfather stole me from my mother and dumped me. A elderly woman took me in and sent me to school, fed me and clothed me. But she died from a mugging gone wrong. I took and sold all she had at 12 and found a teenage boy to buy me my weapons. I practiced day after day in the subway tunnels. At 13, I started helping at a small store in the dark side of town and got 12 dollars a week for food. That continued till I was 15. Walking back to the subway to my little home the boy who bought me my weapons came out of the shadows and grabbed me. He raped me behind a building and pulled out a gun and shot me. I woke up in the hospital and snuck out that night. I returned to my home and stayed there till I healed more. During that time a girl moved in farther down the tunnel from me. She and I became friends. The night after I turned 18 she was shot in alley by a drunk man. Taking 6 bullets she died there on the sidewalk. That night as midnight came I tracked him down and killed him to avenge my friend.
People called out to me and I came. Some families paid me back with money, food, clothes, whatever they could.’ She looked up and the ceiling feeling her employer’s eyes burn into her. ‘I started a list a few years ago of people. I can’t say that I wish my life was better, but I know that people can rest knowing that someone will do something for them since no one else will.’
‘Can I see the list?’ He asked.
She reached into the tight area of her collar and pulled out the crumpled paper. She gently handed it to him and watched as he unfolded it and read it.
He folded it and handed it back to her. ‘My name is on there but its to the side.’
Looking at the list she nodded. ‘I’ve heard people talk of you, the great Inu Yasha Takashi.’ She smiled and replaced the paper in it’s place.
‘Ah.’ He smiled. ‘What is your name you never said.’
‘I don’t have one, will at least that I know of.’ She stared at the burgundy carpet.
‘Oh, well come here.’ He moved back from the desk and motioned her back. She stood and walked slowly around the desk. He offered a hand and pulled her into his firm lap. She turned sideways and looked at his face. His hand snaked around her waist and he rolled them closer to the desk opening the top drawer to the right. Extracting a needle he shut the drawer again.
He had one for purposes. He heard one time that his demon blood would control him. Each week he drew blood and would send it to his scientists hoping that there was no change in the balance. So far he had been lucky.
She tensed in his lap and fisted her hands. He wouldn’t hurt her, she knew it because he had waited for someone like her but, that didn’t stop her from pulling a 7' blade from her wrist sheath.
‘If you put that in me I won’t die.’ He muttered watching her.
She began shaking with the force to not do it.
‘Take of all my weapons.’ She whispered feeling pathetic. He sat the needle down and began slowly to do as told.
Once the last belt was removed his hand clasp over hers holding the knife. She placed her other hand over the blade and squeezed. The metal bit deep.
‘Do whatever you were going to.’ She hissed.
Inu Yasha grabbed the needle and took off the protective top and plunged it quickly into her arm drawing out some blood and replacing the lid. Her grip lessened and the blade fell to the floor with a thunk. She cradled her hand as the blood ran down into her armor.
Setting the full needle on the desk he grabbed her hand and examined it. Growling he unzipped the back of her armor and motioned for her to slip her arm out. She slid her arms out of the top and shook her hair forward to hide her breasts. The blood ran to her elbow.
Growling again he stood with her cradled in his arms. He walked to the door she saw him come out of the first time she was here. He kicked open the door.
She was laid down on a king size bed covered with satin sheets. He walked over to a large oak dresser with a mirror and pulled out a shirt. It was red and large. Tossing it to her she slipped it on and pulled her hair out of the back. The blood dripped off her elbow and her bent her head licking the blood up and back up her arms to keep it in her palm rather than other places.
Inu watched her with interest. ‘What? Better to keep it in the body.’ He smiled at her and walked into another room she guessed was a bathroom.
While he was gone for a second she slid off the rest of her suit and tossed it on the back of a chair. She settled in the middle of the bed licking at her cuts. The cool sheets were nice after having the tight leather on for hours.
Inu Yasha came back with a wet cloth and bandages. ‘You have two choices; I clean and bandage your hand and you not use it for two weeks or I heal it and you sleep with me.’ He grinned.
She growled at him. ‘Whatever.’ She held out her hand and looked away from him. His cool hand touched her slightly warm one and she felt him start wiping away the blood with the wet cloth, sitting a foot or two from her. It was soon replaced, however. She snapped her head to watch him as his hot breath raced over the cuts. She flexed her hand, the cut along the web of her hand and down shifted and stretched painfully. The second cut along the bottom crease of her fingers scrunched and skin stuck to skin with fresh blood. Inu Yasha grabbed her wrist and held it still as his other hand extended her fingers. She watched as his tongue probed the first cut and licked at it. He lifted his head, cracked his neck and started on the second one.
She looked at her hand in amazement. There were no scars, no sign she had cuts. She flopped back on the bed and stared at her hand flexing it and examining the skin.
Inu laid down beside her and wrapped a hand around her waist tugging her back into his chest.
‘Sir, may I get a shower first?’ She whispered.
‘Ya, give me a minuet.’ He kissed her neck and stood. He grabbed a towel and a toothbrush and took them to her. ‘Help yourself to whatever is in there.’ He smiled and she took them with a thank you.
She scrubbed herself red under the burning hot water. Steam filled the air making it hard to breath. She scrubbed her head with shampoo twice. Shaving her legs quickly before getting out. Brushing her teeth and using what she guessed was his brush she redressed and hung up her towel on a rack next to his.
She stepped out of the bathroom and to the bed where Inu Yasha lay watching TV. He looked over at her and gasped at the woman.
‘I brought your knives and stuff in here. There are two under the pillow, a sword under the bed and a couple in the drawer. The rest are in my closet.’ He smiled at her as she crawled into the bed next to him.
‘Thank you again.’ She whispered pulling the covers up around her.
‘Your welcome.’ He turned off the TV and clapped so the lights went out also.
She closed her eyes. A arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her to a firm body. She snuggled close to Inu Yasha he laughed a little and kissed her neck. She found herself falling asleep in his arms. It felt right.
Inu Yasha smiled as her breathing evened out and she relaxed against him. He kissed her lips for a moment and slipped off to sleep holding her small frame against him.
The sun rose over the horizon as Inu Yasha woke. Beside him the phone was ringing. He reached over and put it to his ear. ‘What?’ Information was spilled out to him as he sat up and wiped sleep from his eyes. ‘Ya thanks.’ He hung up the phone and looked over at the woman at his side. Her hair was in every direction on the bed. She lay tangled in sheets and one arm was flung off the bed. He smirked and pulled her, sheets and all, into his lap. She groaned and wiggled closer to him, head resting on his shoulder. When she was awake she was very unemotional and cautious, but now as she sleeps he could only see an angel.
Her eyes fluttered open and looked up into his. ‘Morning.’ He kissed her head and smiled.
‘Morning.’ She yawned and snapped her head towards the office door. Before Inu Yasha could see she had a blade in her hand. A knock echoed through the room seconds before the door opened. A man dressed in a purple suit walked in his black hair tied into a ponytail at the back of his neck.
She flipped the knife and with little motion threw it. It embedded itself into the door frame next to the mans head. She drew another from air and threw it before Inu Yasha could stop her. This time the knife flew between the visitors legs and into the floor. The man gulped and raised both hands as two closed around her waist and arms.
‘Now we don’t want to kill Miroku, he’s safe.’ Inu laughed. ‘Miroku this is my new assassin, Kagome.’ Her head jerked to look into his eyes. ‘Blood tests came back this morning; your name is Kagome Higurashi, born; March 19th, mother; Kieko Higurashi, father; died 10 years ago from cancer.’
Kagome nodded. ‘Thank you.’ He smiled and lifted her out of his lap.
‘Miroku out.’ The man at the door took one more look at the knife embedded in the door and left. Inu crawled out of bed and walked to the dresser. Kagome watched as he pulled on a pair of baggy jeans and a tight shirt. He started lifting out pair after pair of jeans and finally tossed on to her along with a belt. He replaced the pants and opened another drawer and sorted out a white undershirt. He tossed it to her. Kagome wiggled out of the bed sheets tangled around her and pulled on the jeans, She threaded the belt on and tightened it to fit. Looking up at her boss she looked around, ‘where are my old clothes?’
‘I had them taken.’ He continued looking through the drawers.
‘What am I suppose to do for clothes then?’ She pulled off the night shirt and slid on the tank top.
‘I’m taking you shopping.’ He looked her over and shut the dresser moving to the closet. She crept over and looked in. It was fair size. He looked over at her again and tossed a hoodie to her. She pulled it on and watched as he nodded in agreement. He led her out and into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and her hair with him. Inu Yasha took her hand and pulled her towards the office door.
‘Are you hungry?’
‘A little.’ She confessed but the little was given away by a large roar from her stomach. Inu laughed and pulled her out into the large office. The man so called Miroku sat in her chair spinning around.
‘Oi, is Sango here?’ Inu Yasha growled as they walked over.
‘Ya she’s talking with someone on the second floor.’ He waved a hand and spun again.
‘Well come on.’ He pulled Kagome to the exit and Miroku followed moments later.
‘What about my weapons?’ She tugged at her wrist to go get them.
‘They’re fine in my room. Besides you don’t need them.” They climbed into the elevator and down the second floor. A tall woman with brown hair and slim figure got in with them.
‘Kagome this is Sango.’ Inu Yasha said still holding her hand. .
‘Hello’ Kagome extended her hand. Sango took it and gave a firm handshake. Kagome returned the firmness and they met gazes.
Sango slung an arm around her shoulders. And smiled.
Kagome changed the hold on Inu Yasha’s hand taking and threading their fingers together. He looked over at her and smiled. Kagome nodded to him and walked out the doors as they opened.
Breakfast was first, then shopping. Kagome watched as Sango held shirt after shirt up to her. She crossed her arms and stood around.
Inu Yasha leaned over to her ear, ‘bored?’
Kagome turned and glared at him with a look that could kill. He laughed and caused many people around them to look at them. Kagome slapped his chest and he grinned showing fangs. Miroku stood to her other side. He had his hands in front of him at Inu Yasha’s orders. Sango held another shirt up, this one pink with some lace and beads.
‘Ok I draw my line, no way in hell an I wearing that.’ Kagome growled.
‘But its cute.’ Sango protested.
‘Do I look cute?’ Kagome’s brow raised.
‘But pink is your color. It makes your skin look tan not white.’ Sango countered.
‘My color is black and blue, my skin is white because I don’t like the sun. And for and extra note, I’d rather wear men’s cloths then girls, only because of my job. Girls clothes are too tight and I can’t move in them.’ She tucked her shirt in her pants and tighten the belt to the last hole. She gathered the extra material of the hoodie and tied it in a knot. She stomped to a clear main aisle. Inu, Sango and Miroku followed and stood back from her.
Kagome twisted and leaned hand doing a 180 back bend into a one hand handstand. She placed the other hand down and turned to face the three watching her. She changed hands again and spread her legs to do a wide split. A couple on the other side of the rack turned to watch her. Kagome closed her legs and turned to face the long aisle. No one dared step in it as they watched her.
Kagome flipped backwards and hopped forward spinning in the air and flipping holding her body in and landing to do a series of flips with no hands her legs walking her along in a left, right, flip, left, right, flip pattern. The store’s customers and workers all lined the aisle to watch. Kagome stopped as the road turned and ran doing a series of forward flips. Right before the aisle ended she turned and her body spun sideways. She landed and spun doing one last flip onto one of the racks. Amazingly she wasn’t out of breath.
‘That’s just air, ground is a bit faster and tighter.’ She addressed Sango. Inu Yasha grinned and nodded ushering to the aisle. Sango turned to him her mouth slightly wide. Miroku was shocked as ever.
Kagome flipped off the rack and walked to stand in front of her small group. She lowered herself to the ground in a split move. She had never done this outside of a real fight or practice. Her arms reached back to pull her into a handstand. She started moving her hands in a circle as her feet spin in a whirlwind. She closed her eyes and dropped her body closer to the ground as her legs dropped to a ground kick that would drop a person to the ground. She stopped spinning brought both legs to the out side of her arms holding them above the ground. She jumped and her feet shot out and behind her and she landed in a push up position her lower body inches off the ground. A drop of sweat fell and she lowered her body to the ground and whipped out with a leg and the force spun her around, she raised up slowly, now usually she would do a roundhouse kick, but instead she extended a socked foot and stretched it out to the said of her, her body moving smoothly as every as she spun again and dropping low and kicking out before rolling to her back and to one knee. She pushed with her toes and stood in a clean motion.
Her clothes falling back into place and she untied the hoodie. Slipping on the skater shoes she had, Kagome crossed her arms and looked at Sango.
‘I refuse.’ She smiled.
Miroku dropped to the ground and Sango’s mouth dropped another few inches. Inu Yasha just grinned.
Clapping around her snapped her back to the reality of the mall. The store echoed as people clapped. Kagome turned and bowed once before returning her gaze at the woman.
Miroku stood and brushed himself off. ‘Well Lady Kagome, let us lead you to more...suitable clothes.’ He smiled and elbowed Sango who only nodded dumbly.
Inu Yasha reached out and grabbed Kagome’s hand leading her to the mens section. Him and Miroku helped her pick out clothes. Sango got over the shock and started helping as well.
They checked out and Inu Yasha led her deeper into the mall. Sango and Miroku trailing behind a few stores looking through the windows at stuff.
‘How did you learn all that?’ He looked at a store they passes.
‘I snuck into one of the art schools in the evening. I hid in the shadows and watched girls do the moves and later did them myself. But I train harder than all of them, I strengthened my arms and legs so I could to the push up with out my feet, so I could knock someone into a wall. They had safety I didn’t.’
Inu Yasha looked over at Kagome and nodded. He too did the same thing.
‘Would you be mad if I took you blades to be sharpened. I was looking at them when you were in the shower and some are a bit dull.’ Inu watched her face.
‘No, but I would feel weak.’ She admitted looking at him.
‘I understand. That’s why I want you to stay with me until they are done.’ He looked into her eyes and smiled.
‘I guess.’ She continued walking and staring ahead of them.
He grabbed her hand and tugged her into a store and watched as Sango and Miroku strolled by. Kagome watched until they passed and finally took a look at the shop. It was small but everything was black. She smiled and began looking around. She came to a wall of jewelry.
‘I never thought you this type.’ She looked back at her boss as he watched her.
‘What type?’ His brow raised and she smiled.
‘You are a business man and the mayor, I never thought you would be into goth and punk.’
Inu smiled and let out a sigh. ‘I may be rich and over 500 but I’m only like 19.’ Kagome laughed and continued looking at the wall of jewelry. ‘That one would look good on you.’ He pointed to a half ring with a green ball on one end and a chain with a dog bone on the other.
‘I like it but don’t have pierced ears or stomach. My life means more than jewelry and nice clothes.’ She turned and looked at him. ‘Im sure you know what that’s like.’
‘Ya I do, life before anything else. I have a question.’
‘Shoot.’ She looked a more of the stuff.
‘How are you with pain?’ He whispered in her ear.
Kagome stiffened and turned slowly to meet his eyes. ‘It depends.’ She stuttered.
He grinned and led her to the counter. He covered her ears and whispered to the clerk who nodded. She was led into the back and to a reclining chair. The door shut and locked. Kagome’s hand went to her back and found nothing. Her instinct for protection went out the door and turned to fear. Inu Yasha’s arms wrapped around her and felt a little safer. He pushed her gently to the chair and she laid down on her back breathing hard. The man came from the shadows holding two needles and a silver half ring. She wiggle on the chair and Inu Yasha was right there over her hand on one side of her face making her look at him.
He looked at the stranger and nodded and returned his gaze to her.
Kagome felt a cold hand lift up her shirt and the needle seconds later as it pressed into her skin. The pain came as hot fire through her veins to settle in the bottom of her stomach. Inu Yasha placed his hands on her shoulders and leaned down pressing soft kisses to her face and neck. She bit back a moan as a second needle pressed against her skin. Inu Yasha nipped at her neck.
‘Don’t do that.’ She gasped so only he could hear. He laughed and stopped. The sliver half ring was pushed into the small hole and the end was snapped on.
‘Done.’ The man muttered standing up. Inu Yasha nodded thanks and the man left.
Kagome lay panting and sweating on the table. She looked down at the ring now on her stomach above her belly button. Inu Yasha watched as she laid there. The smell of her arousal assaulted his nose and it was taking a lot of control to not take her then and there.
Kagome blinked and turned her attention to Inu Yasha. She offered a weak smile and closed her eyes falling into a light sleep.
Kagome woke up in the arms of someone in a room. The sun was to the east and the sky was a warm orange and pink. She groaned and turned her head away from the sun. A husky chuckle made her look back towards the offending light and into amber orbs.
‘Hello.’ Inu Yasha smiled and leaned back against the head board of the apartment. Sango and Miroku had left hours ago right after dropping her stuff off with him.
Kagome snuggled closer to him and wrapped her arms around him as she buried her face against his neck. He breath causing waves of pleasure to settle at his groin.
Kagome cracked an eye as something pressed against her rear. She blew air on his pulse point and the thing pressed harder. He heard him whimper and his arms around her waist tightened.
Someone knocked on the door and the moment was ruined.
Inu Yasha growled and let Kagome up to answer the door. She came back holding a letter she tossed it to her boss and busied herself looking around her new apartment.
‘I have to go to the office, if you want you can join me and afterwards we can go sharpen your weapons.’ Inu Yasha walked into the kitchen barefooted. Kagome turned to look at him.
‘Let me change.’ She smiled and shut the cabinet. He watched her walk to the room and sort through her new clothes. He watched as she took off his and slipped on a bra and new underwear. He watched as she pulled on a tank top and a baggy pair of jeans like the ones she had just taken off. She pulled on a pair of socks and pulled her hair from the shirt and walked back out to him.
Inu Yasha took a breath and grabbed her hand taking them to the door and out. Kagome tied her shoes as they rode to the building.
‘Kagome?’ Inu Yasha looked out the door and watched as the town passed slowly.
Across from him she looked up. ‘Yes?’
‘Will you go out with me? Dinner and something?’ He continued to stare out the window not wanting to see her face if she said no.
Kagome stared at him and noticed his ears droop a little when she remained quiet. She felt a tug in her chest and looked down. They were so much alike and he understood. For the first time in her lame life she found someone who understood the pain. ‘I would love too.’ She whispered. She looked at the carpet of the limo floor.
Inu Yasha didn’t miss a word and smiled finally looking at her. ‘We didn’t buy you anything formal.’ He grinned. He watched as her mouth dropped. Kagome crossed her arms and snorted. Inu Yasha laughed and reached out for her hand. Kagome accepted it and was pulled into a strong chest.
‘Your beautiful.’ He whispered into her ear.
‘If you don’t stop treating me I’ll get soft and can’t do my job.’ She replied seriously.
‘Now we don’t want that.’ His lips pressed against her neck and moved down to her collar bone.
‘No we don’t.’ She tilted her head and let him continue.
Inu Yasha smirked. Mine. He bit gently and slid a hand to the inside of her thigh.
The car came to a halt and a minute later the door was open. Inu Yasha growled low and let Kagome crawl out of the car. He grabbed her hand as they walked into the front doors and to the elevator.
They walked into the office and Kagome growled seeing yet another person in her chair. Inu Yasha looked her and tugged her forward. The two chairs spun to face the new arrivals.
‘Hi Inu Yasha.’ A perky girl addressed him. Kagome looked from the girl to her boss.
‘Rin! It’s nice to see you...brother.’ He nodded to the second man in the room. They we defiantly related. The man sitting in her chair had silver hair and amber eyes. Four purple cheek stripes and a crescent moon on his forehead marked himself as a full demon. Kagome could smell poison in his aura and wanted nothing more than to put a knife in his heart.
Inu Yasha felt the woman next to him start to squeeze his hand. He pulled her back a few steps and leaned in close to her ear. ‘Under the bed is your two swords, on my side of the bed is my sword if it helps you can put them on and come back out. Though I think it would be a good idea to put on a couple of blades on under your clothes.’ Kagome stepped back, nodded and headed to the bedroom without a word to the guests. She felt a pair of eyes burn into her back. Shutting the door once she was safely in the other room.
Finding the three swords, she fastened hers to her back in their place and Inu Yasha’s to her hip where she guessed he wore it. She quietly moved to the night-stand on her side of the bed and opened the drawer without a sound. Inside lay two of her thigh knives. She picked up the pillow and found one of the long daggers. The two knives she threw at Miroku this morning had been replace and set in the middle of the bed. She strapped them on her forearms and pulled each checking for draw speed. Inu Yasha’s was the only new one and she got use to it in seconds, then again she didn’t have much of a choice. However she found the left side of her body heavier and headed to the closet. Inside, behind a bunch of clothes, she located her other weapons. It took her seconds to put the many belts on. She jumped and was happy with the weight. Smiling to herself she headed back to the office. Inu was sitting in his chair looking very aggravated. She entered the room silently and walked to the group. She came into view and stood behind her boss leaning against the window. Two sets of eyes settled on her. The woman who was address as Rin was plainly scared. Her eyes showed it all. However, the demon was a bit unsettled at the sight of her.
Inu turned his chair to look at her and motioned her forward. She leaned her hip against the glass desk and waited for any kind of orders. He had after was paying her for a somewhat type of protection, though she doubted he would need it being a half demon.
‘Kagome this is Sesshomaru, my brother I told you about, and Rin, his mate.’ Inu looked at her and silently gave his approval of her choice.
‘What is the meaning of this?’ The demon growled.
Kagome eyes locked on him but she never moved her body.
‘She is my new assassin. A guard if you will.’ Inu motioned towards Kagome his voice was normal and held nothing.
‘But she is human!’ The demon stood in rage.
‘Excuse me!’ Kagome turned and stared at him with her own rage.
‘Speak when spoken to wench.’ He countered.
Kagome had a knife drawn and was on the other side of the desk pressing it to the offending man’s throat before anyone blinked. Sesshomaru’s hand glowed green and he lashed out at her.
Kagome was out of reach and crouched close to the ground.
‘I figured as much.’ She growled, one that could rival any dog.
‘If you plan on fighting my I request you take this upstairs.’ Inu spoke up.
Kagome relaxed and snorted standing straight. ‘I’ll fight dog breath.’
‘Insolent woman.’ Sesshomaru growled. Kagome’s brow rose and she walked smoothly to the group again.
‘Idiotic man.’ She smirked. Mouths dropped and the demon’s eyes flashed red. Walking behind Inu Yasha she ran her hands up his back and over his shoulders to his chest, she pressed her body against his back and kissed his clothed body. ‘Im going upstairs to mess around.’ She cast and evil glare at Sesshomaru and walked causally out.
‘What. Is. The. Meaning. Of. This?’ Sesshomaru ground out. His eyes flashed red again.
‘She is the best in this city.’ Inu shrugged and took his seat again. Rin relaxed into her seat. Sesshomaru however stayed standing.
‘I come back to New York and find you with that! She’s a street slut.’ His voice was near a yell. Inu Yasha lowered his ears.
‘Do you know her rep.?’ He asked matching his brother’s glare. ‘The whole city knows what she does. She’s killed 16 people. Nine of which were mob bosses. She killed Mortermer last night in less that four hours. We’ve been trying for 13 years!’ Inu Yasha stood and slammed his hands on the desk. ‘I’ve kept her from death row. The cops are scared of her but, they are grateful she’s killing the deadly people. The humans have hope. They look up to her as a guardian. Yes she came from the street but she’s just like me. A survivor.’ He took his seat. ‘I like her. I like her a lot.’
Sesshomaru smirked. ‘You’ve fallen as I have.’ He laughed. A toe curling laughed echoed off the walls and Inu cringed.
‘I think I have. Yes, it is true however, she may be human but she is a miko. She is as well train as you if not better.’ Sesshomaru growled. ‘We went shopping today and Sango pushed her to wear something cute. Kagome turned around and said no that men’s clothes were better and flat out showed the whole damn store why. I retrieved the video later.’ He pulled a tape from a desk drawer and slipped it into a VCR. The TV coming smoothly out of the desk. He flipped the screen around and grabbed the remote. He moved to the side with his brother and sister-in-law. Sesshomaru sat finally.
The tape started and Inu Yasha pointed out their group. Sango held up the pink shirt and Kagome crossed her arms. They watched as she told Sango off and stomped into the aisle. Inu watched as her shoes were discarded not noticing it the first time. She started her moves and could only be amazed again watching from a different view as the girl twisted in ways not possible. Kagome stood on the clothes rack and Inu Yasha stopped the tape.
‘She is standing very balanced on a metal clothes rack 4 feet from the ground, half her flips were higher than that. As she stood on that rack she stated very clearly that what she just did was just air.’ He started the tape again. ‘This is some of her ground. These are most likely her fighting moves because...’ he pointed as Kagome extended her foot, ‘that was suppose to be a kick, I saw it in her form as she set up for it. Surprisingly she’s very hard to read.’ Kagome stopped and the group disappeared from the camera view.
‘That’s not possible for a human.’ Rin gasped. ‘I took gymnastics for 11 years, I can’t even do a quarter of that.’ Her hand pointed to the screen.
‘I’ll tell you the thing that shocked me is a move that even I can’t do. She holds her whole body off the floor un a push up position.’ Sesshomaru’s head snapped to look at his brother who was leaning down next to him between him and Rin.
‘Impossible.’ He stated in disbelief. He couldn’t even do that.
Inu Yasha rewound the tape and froze the frame where Kagome was holding herself up. He pointed to the woman. ‘There.’ At the angle of the camera you couldn’t see it but the look of her body she was in push up position but there was no way of telling if she was off the ground or not.
‘I must see this for myself.’ Sesshomaru stood. Rin stood after him and Inu straighten himself leading them to the elevator and up to the top floor.
Inu Yasha, Rin, and Sesshomaru walked in to the cement room to see Kagome stretching her leg at an impossible angle behind her head. She looked up and lowered her limb. The lights overhead laminated the room in a bright glow. In the corner a stereo blared out some kind of techno music. A pile of weapons next to it.
‘Can you show us what you dd in the store this afternoon. But do your kicks and everything.’ Inu Yasha requested.
Kagome bit her bottom lip. ‘I don’t know, it’s my practice routine. I guess I can.’ She looked over at Sesshomaru and Rin.
Stretching one more time quickly she jumped up. Leaning back twisting she did a 180 into a one handed handstand. She shifted for a better grip. Her legs split to form a more than full split. She closed her legs and flipped backwards and hopped forward spinning in the air and flipping holding her body in and landing to do a series of flips with no hands her legs walking her along in a left, right, flip, left, right, flip pattern. She ended feet from the wall. This was the same thing she did in the mall. Kagome stopped and ran doing a series of forward flips. Right before the wall came she turned and her body spun sideways. She landed and spun doing one last flip Amazingly she wasn’t out of breath....again.
Sesshomaru watched with a trained eye. Rin’s mouth had dropped open.
Walking to the middle of the room, Kagome lowered herself to the ground in a split move. A drop of sweat fell and she lowered her body to the ground and whipped out with a leg and the force spun her around, she raised up slowly, doing a roundhouse kick, her body moving smoothly as every as she spun again and dropping low and kicking out before rolling to her back and to one knee. She pushed with her toes and stood in a clean motion. Her clothes falling back into place
Sesshomaru held him emotions but was amazed. A human could do what he couldn’t. He, in person, had witnessed her holding her body off the ground.
Kagome sat down with a almost silent thunk and stared at the group. Inu Yasha was the first to move, he walked over the her and sat down behind her, his hands messaging her muscles.
‘Your not tight, or tired.’ He said shocked.
‘Am I suppose to be?’ Kagome looked back at him confused.
Inu Yasha looked at her a second and then to his brother. Sesshomaru walked over and Inu Yasha moved so the demon could kneel down. His hands continued what Inu Yasha’s had been doing. A hand moved and the other pressed to the middle of her back. She continued breathing normally and looked back to see what was going on.
‘Her heart isn’t even fazed.’ Sesshomaru lost his mask and the emotion if shock was very clear on his face. ‘You have a spell on though, what is it?’
‘A cover spell.’ She mumbled look back and at the floor.
‘Drop it.’ It was a command and she flinched . Her knees pressed into her chest and she shook her head.
‘No, I can’t...I won’t.’
A cool hand touched her cheek and she pulled away from it. ‘What are you hiding?’ Inu Yasha whispered. He kneeled down in front of her and tried to look at her face but she hid it from him.
‘The pain.’ She whispered back.
‘Drop the spell. Please. For me.’ Inu Yasha pressed.
‘Take her out of the room.’ Kagome looked at Rin. Sesshomaru asked Rin to leave. The girl looked confused but left anyways saying she would be waiting in the office.
Time ticked by and Inu Yasha was about to talk again when Kagome stood and rip her shirt off. Sesshomaru watched.
The spell wrapped tightly around Kagome dropped and she felt naked under their eyes. Her body was covered in dark scars. Her left eye had one reaching from hair line to jaw. Her back was covered as if damaged by a whip. Her arms also covered as if she had at one time cut herself. Her legs were covered in marks that looking like they had been blown up in small areas to only heal with darker skin. Kagome’s arms were wrapped around her stomach but from what Inu Yasha could see she had even more there, they looked more like stab wounds. On her shoulder though stood out 3 bullet wounds.
‘What happened?’ He breathed reaching out to touch one.
‘You can’t live on the streets all our life and expect to be safe. I kept falling into the wrong hands and use for anger. You can’t walk down the street and not run into someone not in the same problem as you and not get mugged, most of the time you get cut up. My line of work includes getting down and dirty, some of them are from people who fought back. The bullet wounds on my shoulder are from when I was raped. Some are from glass also that was used in fights.’
Her throat tightened and she wanted to cry but no tears came. Her body grew cold. Inu Yasha lunged forward and held the girl close to him. She held on to him and took in the feeling of safety.
Someone pressed against her back and she welcomed the extra warmth.
‘No one should suffer as you have.’ Sesshomaru whispered.
Kagome laughed but it sounded bad. ‘I have many weaknesses but this is not one. I hide because there is nothing I can do.’
The door opened and shut. Three sets of eyes turned to look at Rin. ‘Uhh...I’m hungry.’ She stammered looking at the group.
Sesshomaru moved over to her. ‘Would you like to join us?’ He looked at his brother and Kagome.
‘Kagome?’
Kagome shrugged and placed her spell back on. When Inu Yasha looked again there were no scars to be seen. She left his embrace and turned the music off and strapped on all the blades again.
‘Wait, Kagome show me some moves with my brother’s sword, usually it won’t let anyone touch it and yet you are wearing it.’ Sesshomaru turned back and all eyes were back on Kagome. Inu Yasha has noticed it too.
Kagome drew the blade and started swinging in a trained motion. After a minuet the blade began to sing and she sped up twirling and spinning the blade. The ancient sword sung a soft tune and both demons were mesmerized. Kagome came to a stop and sheathed the blade cleanly. She walked over to Inu Yasha who was breathing heavily. He smiled at her and she smiled back unsure of what had happened. Sesshomaru shook his head, that song was still in his head.
‘If she did that! I wanna see what she does with Tensega and Tokijin.’ Inu Yasha composed himself and wrapped and arm around Kagome’s waist. They walked to the other couple and headed out with them to the elevator.
At they stepped into the night air Kagome’s head snapped to the south. She stopped and closed her eyes. Inu Yasha looked at her with concern.
‘I got to go.’ She untied his sword and handed it to him. ‘Someone’s calling for me.’
‘Your armor is in the apartment. I’ll be there when we’re done eating. I’ll grab something for you too.’ Kagome nodded and started running down the street.
Inu Yasha watched as her form disappeared into the night.
~Now~
Kagome bound across roof tops and ran across ledges. Her leather protecting her from the night’s cool air. Her weapons ready for draw. She stalked the night one last time before returning to her new apartment. All night she had been thing about the last few days. Inu Yasha was probably done eating and was now waiting for her safe return.
Her apartment was just around the corner it had been a quiet night. She had put another mark on the list for some gang. She had all the gangs on her list and most of them had close to 9 marks, but it was a group thing and she et to figure out how to deal with a gang.
She dropped down in front of her door and yawned. Walking slowly up the stairs she entered hall. There were only two doors, one for her room and another for someone she didn’t know.
She stopped in front of her door and it opened before she could knock or open it herself.
Rin tackled her into the wall behind her. Kagome was to shocked to move. She was to tired to really do anything.
“Thank god your safe. Inu Yasha told us why you had to leave. We picked up food and came straight here.” Rin let go and looked Kagome up and down. Kagome’s arm was wrapped around her stomach. Rin looked at it and pulled her into the apartment.
Inu Yasha was at her side as soon as she cleared the door. Sesshomaru looked up from the couch.
“I smell blood.” He growled. Kagome gently moved her arm.
“I had a run in with some robbers. I had to wait for the cops to show up. Lucky for me the first cop of scene was a friend’s brother-in-law.” Kagome dropped her body into a chair.
“Is the bullet still in there?” Inu Yasha told Rin to get the first aid kit and where it was.
“No, I took it out.” She tired to stand again but fell back in the chair. “Damn this to hell.” She growled, unbuckling her belts she dropped then to the side of the chair.
Sesshomaru looked at her again and continued to type something on a laptop.
Rin came back with the first aid kit and a change of clothes. Kagome reached back and unzipped her armor and slid the shirt over her head, then removed the top of her suit. She placed her arms in the t-shirt sleeves and moved to pull off the rest of the armor.
The blood had dried and had smeared over her stomach coating her new belly ring in a thick layer of blood. Rin handed her the cotton night shorts and Kagome pulled them on. She was to weak to hold the cover spell.
“If I scare you Rin im sorry.” Kagome dropped the spell and the scars slowly began showing. Rin bit back a scream and let tears run down her face.
Inu Yasha pushed up Kagome’s shirt and inspected the dry wound. The shot had taken her in the right side but with the direction of the wind and running the blood had smeared to the left. Rin handed Inu Yasha a wet rag and she wiped it all away and opened the wound against taking the dry blood off so it bled fresh. Kagome hissed and sucked her stomach away from him causing blood to flow faster. Inu Yasha wiped more of it away and used his free hand to open the first aid kit, drawing out a bunch gauze pads.
He moved the rag and pressed the pads to the wound and reached back for gauze wrap. He started wrapping the wound after Kagome relaxed. He tied it off and pulled her shirt down.
“That will have to work since you won’t go to the hospital and they won’t do much more than that.” He stood up and looked down at the woman. “Hungry?”
Kagome nodded and tried to stand but only managed to fall into Inu Yasha. He caught her and placed her back in the chair.
“Stay here. I’ll get it.” He left the room with everything and Rin stood by staring at Kagome’s scars.
“Did they hurt?” She whispered after awhile.
“Some of them. But you get use to ignoring them all together.” Rin’s hand shook as she reached out. Her fingers lightly touched Kagome’s arm tracing the scars.
Inu Yasha came back holding a steaming plate holding what looked like a medium rare steak and some rice.
“I noticed you don’t eat much, there’s more though if you want it.” Kagome accepted the plate and took a bite.
Kagome finished eating and placed the plate on the floor. “I don’t expect you to stay all night and worry of me.” She said to Rin and Inu Yasha. “But I’m going to bed. Thank you.” They looked at her as she walked to the bedroom.
“Are you ready Rin? We can come back later in the week and check up on her if you want.” Sesshomaru stood closing the laptop. Rin looked at Inu Yasha.
“I’ll watch her.”
Rin and Sesshomaru took their leave and Inu Yasha went to the bedroom. Kagome was under the covers passed out. He smiled and took off all but his boxers and climbed in next to her. He pulled her to him minding her wound. He kissed her gently and went to sleep.
The sunrose high outside and was into the afternoon when Kagome started to wake up. Inu Yasha lay beside her watching her. She smiled at him weakly and buried her face in his chest.
Inu Yasha stroked her head and purred. Kagome fell into a light sleep again.
It was dark when she woke again and Inu Yasha was still beside her. She looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back and pulled her closer to him. Kagome watched his eyes shut and took a chance. She stretched up and pressed her lips to his softly. Inu Yasha was shocked and was unsure of what to do. Kagome pulled back and hid her face in his chest.
Outside thunder crashed and lightning lit up the room though the blinds. Kagome groaned. Inu Yasha recovered from the kiss and took her chin and tilted it up to look at him. Kagome looked at him and her crashed his lips to hers licking her lip she opened up a little of him. He took his chance and slipped his tongue in, playing with her own.
Kagome found herself on her back with him on top of her grinding his hips into hers. Kagome gasped as another crack of lightning tore through the night.
“We can’t do this, not till im healed.” She whimpered. He growled and dropped his head to her chest.
“Your right.” He rolled to her side and pulled her to his body again. “But your scent is driving me crazy.” Kagome blushed thankful he couldn’t see. It was the stupid storm. The rush of a storm was a turn on and she almost wanted to let him but with her wound she couldn’t risk losing any more blood.
“Inu?” She whispered.
“Ya?” He moved her hair and kissed her neck.
“Is there something between us?”
His kisses stopped and he thought hard. “You can say that.”
“What’s between us?” She turned in his arms and looked him in the eyes. Inu Yasha took a shaky breath.
“I have fallen in love with you, and my sword answers to you. My demon side is calmed by you. Even freaking Sesshomaru says it. The whole damn world is setting us up so that we are mates.” Inu Yasha growled. “It’s not a bad thing but I don’t want to move to fast and end up losing you. As a friend, a lover, or a safe zone.” He held her tight and never wanted to let go.
Review and let me know if you have any ideas you think would be good in the story. I know it’s moving at bit fast, however; if this story goes for a long time and gets over 40 chapters then I don’t want to be stuck in a week time frame. Review and I’ll update as soon as I can. Plus, I might need a person to read it before I update to check on my spelling, punctuation and grammar :P I may be in high school but im not perfect.
