From Three Worlds Forged
Ch 1: Hunted
In the corner of a western theme bar in Tokyo Japan sat a woman with a black leather hat tilted down hiding her face as she rested against a wall after her performance was over. She also wore tight blue jeans, worn black leather boots, a white tank top and an old unbuttoned black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up past her elbows. A wooden acoustic guitar that looked well used lay lazily across her lap. In the background can be heard the attempt that a Japanese man made at "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." A man in similar country wear with brown eyes and brown hair that hung wildly in his face, walked over next to her, his boots clanging with spurs and pounding the floor as he took each step and pulled up a seat next to hers against the wall.
"Hey West, you gonna come join us at a bar for a few drinks?" Asked the Man with an amused smirk as he saw her hat rise to reveal dishwater blond hair and emerald green eyes, one of with were twitching. He was trying to keep from laughing at her apparent agitation from the man singing on stage.
"No thanks James" she sighed, " I can't take much more of this." She nodded towards the stage. Both of the two spoke with a slight southwestern accent.
"Aw, don't be to harsh. They barely even speak the language and I think he's doing pretty good considering."
"Pretty good! James, he's mutilating it." She said exasperatedly "And almost every other song done since they started karaoke is the same way."
"Well, we can't all be as good as you and just remember that to them you would sound just as bad trying to sing one of their songs."
She smirked at him and pulled his brown hat down over his eyes playfully. " Your probably right." Her tone sounded less agitated now. "All the same I'm goin for a stroll, I'll meet yawl back at the hotel."
He smiled at her again as he pushed his hat back up. "I'll let the boys know for ya."
"Thanks" She said as she stood up and headed out the door.
West and her band "Last Dawn" had come to Tokyo after their agent said that a country song trend was sweeping across Japan. She loved seeing the new sights and visiting the old historical places when she had the chance, but that had been difficult with her demanding performance schedule. She wasn't complaining though because it was nice to get away from home for a while, the hunter was getting to close to her. With this trip she was positive that she had thrown him off her trail. At least that's what she thought…
As she walked passed a particularly dark alley she thought she heard something and peered into the shadows. With her keen sight, she saw him even before he stepped out to show himself. As he stepped into the light of the street his features seem to retain the darkness of the shadows from whence he came. He was dressed in all black with a long trench coat that almost reached the ground and had dark hair hanging in his face. He had his hands behind his back as he looked up at her and began to speak.
"You are quite troublesome demon." He said with a smirk.
"Your one to talk. I go half way around the world to get away from you and you still follow me." She growled out with hate laced in he voice. She was covering up her fright with anger. She knew that he had killed every demon that he had ever faced, he was Lucian, the great demon slayer. His sole purpose in life to hunt down and kill all the remaining demons left on earth. Her mind raced to find something to fight with seeing as how she left her sword in her hotel room not expecting him to come after her. Yeah she could use her claws, but advanced weaponry skills would be needed against this master assassin.
"Well, I think you have evaded me for quite long enough. It's time we ended this." His face turned stone cold and a murderous look flashed in his dark eyes. "Now show your true form you filth." One of his hands came up from behind his back and he threw a glass ball at her and she reflexively knocked it away before it hit her face. This caused the strange ball to break and a powdery mist flew onto her.
"What the…" She stopped mid sentence as a agonizing bolt of pain shot threw her trying to disable something. It quickly completed it's task as she saw her disguise barrier fading. First her nails lengthened into razor sharp claws, then her ears pointed, and a tail matching her blond hair appeared at her rear. She growled furiously at the man before her. How dare he take away my barrier. She thought to her self.
As she seethed at him he brought his other hand around to show the Claymore sword that had been hidden from behind his long trench. "If it's a fight ya want you betta be prepared to keep up." She smirked at him as a violet glow emanated off of her for a second. As she did this, from her point of view, the world slowed to almost a stop. If one took in the surroundings they would see a newspaper that was being blown by the wind, only it was moving in slow motion. The water in a near by puddles had ripples, caused by a leaky fire hydrant, that almost stood still. She ran behind him and was about to bring a claw around to the front of his neck, but to her surprise he moved as fast as she did, bringing his sword towards her stomach. She jumped back just in time, lucky that being caught off guard hadn't gotten her killed.
As she looked at the man who now had a beady smirk plastered to his face she noticed a pendant around his neck that glowed red. The pendant seemed to be some old English talisman to ward of demon powers.
"What, did you really expect me to not have a defense against such attacks after all the time I have been doing this. Tisk Tisk. I thought you to be smarter than that." He laughed mockingly.
She wasn't one to back down from a fight. She was to proud a female to do that, but that doesn't mean she couldn't trick him into thinking she was running scared. She knew that he would follow. She only hoped she could get enough of a lead to hide and make a surprise attack on him. With this thought she bonded off down the street looking for somewhere to lay in wait.
Lucian saw her intent easily and would play to her game and draw her into believing she had out smarted him.
