(I'm sure that the heart I left behind

still lies hidden in the heart of the deep, deep forest.)

 

*Snore* “…mumble… Sesshoumaru…mumble…” Mary said as she slept in her bed. In her dream, she was alongside Sesshoumaru, fighting some evil youkai. “…mumble…aaaahhh!…mumble…” She rolled over as her alarm went off “I wish… I wish on everything, that my dream were true.”

 

Sagasu hodo no chikara mo naku tsukarehateta

Hitobito wa eien no yami ni kieru

(Exhausted, without the strength to search

people vanish into the infinite darkness.)

 

Sesshoumaru rolled over in his sleep. As a youkai, he had no need for it, but for the past week, some unknown force had been drawing him into the dream world. There, he fought alongside a girl with amazing powers for a mortal. He had come upon her battling a horde of evil youkai, and saved her from the one sneaking up behind her. Normally he wouldn't have cared, but he had to admire a mortal that could stand up to that many youkai alone. He opened his eyes as he felt someone poking him. “I… wish that I could fight with her for real, it would be a pleasure.”

 

Chisai mama nara kitto ima demo mieta ka na

(If it's so small, I wonder if I can see it even now?)

 

“Another day, more pain. The same never ending routine.” Mary said as she readied for her college class. “Japanese economics, how boring. Why can't today be Tuesday?” She grabbed her laptop and bookbag and headed out the door.

 

Boku-tachi wa ikuru hodo ni

Nakushiteku sukoshi zutsu

Itsuwari ya uso wo matoi

Tachisukumu koe mo naku

(As we live on,

we lose a little bit more.

Shrouded in falsehoods and lies,

we stand frozen to the spot, unable to cry out.)

 

Sesshoumaru slashed away at another demon as he walked through the horde. Once he slew the last demon, he walked back to where Jaken lay on the ground, a large foot imprint on his back. “What are you doing? Get up.” He said as he walked away.

 

Aoi aoi sora no iro mo kidzukanai mama

Sugite yuku mainichi ga kawatte yuku

(The days pass by and change,

without us even realizing how blue the sky really is.)

 

*Yawn* “I'm so sleepy!” Mary said as she lay down in her bed “I wish…” she whispered as she fell asleep. The normal blackness came, as Mary waited for the dreams to begin. There was nothing for the longest time, then a door appeared. She walked through it, and came out in a field of green grass. She lay down in it and stared at the sky above her. “Kirei! I never noticed how blue the sky is.” “It is quite blue isn't it?” A voice beside her said as a shadow fell on her. “Sesshoumaru-sama, konba… Ohayou! I'm so sleepy! I hope that I don't have anyone to fight today, I just want to sleep! My class was really hard today, and I need to be awake for my class tomorrow. We're going to some old shrine, for my ancient lore class. I love that class, it reminds me of these dreams, because of all the evil youkai and such.” She curled up into a ball *Yawn* And fell asleep. Sesshoumaru sat down next to her and whispered “You're right, the sky is pretty.”

 

Tsukurareta wakugumi wo koe ima wo ikite

Sabitsuita kokoro mata ugokidasu yo

(Overcoming that made-up scheme, we live the present,

and our rusted hearts begin to beat again!)

 

*Snore* “Lord Sesshoumaru, wake up!” Rin said as she shook Sesshoumaru's shoulder. He rolled over, and kept on snoring. She pulled out the sheathed sword that Sesshoumaru had given her for a 17th birthday present. She slowly stood up and swung the sword down, and a hand stopped it. “Lord Sesshoumaru, you sleep like a log these days. This is the third time I've had to wake you up with a death threat!” Sesshoumaru sat up. “And you're getting a real attitude, Rin. I've half a mind to make you train with Jaken today.” Rin made a pouty face. “But… Last time I trained with him, it took a long time to fix my hair and clothes after he singed them. I have to go to the village today, did you want to come?” Sesshoumaru shook his head and Rin walked off.

 

Toki no RIZUMU wo shireba mo ichido toberu darou

(If we can find the rhythm of time, we can fly once again.)

 

“Konnichi wa! My name is Kagome, and this is Hojo-chan. Welcome to the Higurashi shrine!” Their guide said as she welcomed them at the gate. She began leading them around the shrine, pointing out all the important things.

 

Boku-tachi wa samayoi nagara

Ikite yuku doko made mo

Shinjiteru hikari motome

Arukidasu kimi to ima

(We live our lives

wandering to the ends of the Earth.

Believing, now I begin my journey with you

in search of the light.)

 

Sesshoumaru stretched and yawned as he walked through the forest. “You were right again, those dreams take a lot out of you. One dream of rest was nice.” He kept on walking through the forest, until he came upon an old well. Seating himself on the side, he caressed the wood, remembering.

“And this is the ancient Bone Eater's Well. There is a legend that a girl once fell down this well, and had a most mysterious adventure on the other end of it.” Kagome said as she led them inside the little building that housed the well. Once everyone had a chance to look at it, she led them out again, but Mary stayed behind. She sat down on the well and whispered “An adventure…” “Mary, what are you doing? Trying out that old legend?” A sneering voice said from the door. Mary looked up to see one of her classmates, Subaraki-kun in the doorway. “If you're trying to find out if that old legend is true, let me help you!” He said as he shoved her into the well.

 

Boku-tachi wa samayoi nagara

Ikite yuku doko made mo

Furikaeru

Michi wo tozashi

Aruiteku eien ni

(We live our lives

wandering to the ends of the Earth.

Closing off

the way back,

we walk on for eternity.)

 

Sesshoumaru was knocked backwards as a bright light shot out of the well, and a high pitched screaming echoed in his ears. He stood up, walked over to the well, and stopped when he saw someone lying face down on the ground. He rolled the body over and stopped when he saw Mary. He began shaking her, and yelling “Wake up! Mary-san, wake up!” When she blinked her eyes and looked up at him, he stopped and sat back. She stared at him for a minute then said “Sesshoumaru-sama… Am I asleep? The last thing I remember was Subaraki-kun pushing me down that old well… Oh no! I'm not dead am I?” Sesshoumaru shook his head and said “No, you're not dead. And you're not dreaming either, because I know I'm awake. Besides, this well was used for time travel at one time.” Mary looked at him “So the legend Kagome-san told my class was true? Someone really did travel through the well?” Sesshoumaru snorted. “Of course someone did, that Kagome you spoke of was the one who did it.” Mary gave him an odd look then pinched her arm. “OW! I guess I'm not dreaming! Yay!… Uhh Sesshoumaru-sama, when exactly am I?” He thought for a second, trying to remember what Kagome had called this time, and said “If I remember correctly, Kagome called this time, the feudal era.” Mary's eyes widened. “I traveled 500 years in the past? Sugoi! I never want to go home… home. Sesshoumaru-sama, what am I supposed to do until the well lets me go home?” Sesshoumaru thought for a minute and said “I guess you can come with me, considering you do need a little work on your fighting skills.” Mary grumbled, but followed him anyway when he walked off.

 

Tachisukumu koe mo naku

Ikite yuku eien ni…

(We live our lives standing frozen to the spot,

unable to cry out, for eternity…)

 

 

Konban wa minna-san! SailorOokami is back once more! The song is from the second season of Inuyasha, and the first time I heard it, I fell in love with it.
