A/N: I have a little suprise for you in this fic.... Guess who'll Kagome and Sesshomaru meet? *grins evilly* I just could let the cutie beaten up and alone, now couldn't I? *smiles*

It's had been a week since Seshomaru had brough Kagome in to his castle, to live with him. The young miko felt glad, but was also very sad, because she missed her friends very much.

' Sango, Miroku, Shippo...I wonder what are you doing right now... Are you hunting the shards or are you trying to find me?'

She thought quietly her blue eyes closed, but she opened them soon, as she felt a familiar youkai aura nearby, she turned around and saw Tikari on her doorway, smiling at her.

"Yô," Kagome smiled. [in english yô means hi!! ^__^]

"Yô, Kagome-sama, I'm sorry to come so late at night here, but a servant brough a letter, that was directed to you. She said it was very important," Tikari explained and bowed.

"It's okey, I wasn't doing anything important anyway..." She sighed as the servant friend of hers gave the letter to her.

Kagome curiously opened the letter, reading it quickly and then suddenly gasped in great suprise.

"What is it Kagome-sama, may I ask you?" Tikari asked.

"I...it's a invitation for a masked ball. It's at next month at the Eastern Lord's castle, even you are welcome to come," She told, making Tikari's eyes grew wild.

"M..me too?... Who would want a low servant to come over there, a great masked ball?" Tikari asked in great suprise.

"Sesho," Kagome answered.

"Who?"

"Sesho, he is my secret adreamer, who don't give me any clue of himself. He send me a tiara and most beautiful kimono ever last week, before I came here!" She told her, smiling a real smile for the first time over a few days.

Tikari nodded, giving her a small smile, "If you excuse me, I must to go and have my works at the kitchen done before midnight," She told and bowed.

"Of course, Good night Tikari-chan," Kagome smiled and bowed to her.

"Goodnight Kagome-sama," Tikari smiled and bowed, walking out of the room, leaving Kagome alone into her room to look out the window the sky and it's beautiful stars....

He watched her face as she looked out the window to the sky, sighing quietly to the beautiful night. 'Kagome... Oh god you look so beautiful tonight. I hope you got my letter of love,' He thought, casting his cat like eyes to the sky and then back to Kagome, who-he noticed- was reading his letter.

"Gosh how much I wish to hold you near me," He whispered, before disappering into the night...

It was over past midnight. All the servants were in their bedchampers sleeping quietly, with no clue a person, who walked quietly through the castle hallways towards a room, where he knew the beautiful woman, Kagome slept as peacefully as all the servants in the whole castle.

Quietly as possible, he opened the door of her room and walked inside, leaving the door a little open. He walked over to the bed and looked at the sleeping woman, smiling softly, as he ran his clawed fingers gentlenly against her cheek.

'God Kagome, you're so beautiful,' He thought still smiling as the girl leaned her cheek for his touch.

He leaned down and pressed his warm lips against hers, giving her a quick kiss, before he got up, taking a red letter from his pocket, leaving it under her pillow. He looked at her one more time, before he walked away from her room, smiling to himself happily.

The breakfast went quietly as usual. Kagome sat otherside of a long dinning table and Sesshomaru on the other. Both of them in their own thoughts. The young miko was thinking about her family and friends, while the youkai lord thought about nothing so important.

Once is a while they both would look at each other and then turn their gaze way as the other one caught she or he stearing themselves. This went on about the whole breakfast, until Kagome excused herself, after eating enough.

Sesshomaru just nodded and then quietly sighed as he was sure she was out of the dinning room. After eating few more minutes alone in the same silent, until he got tired and got up, walking into his study to read letter's from other lords of Japan...

Kagome sat at the castle's beautiful rose garden, feeling lonely. She wished she would have someone to talk to, someone like Sango. Kagome sighed. She knew she could go and seek Tikari and speak with her, but knowing her, she had too much work to do.

She sighed again and closed her eyes, leaning against a beautiful cherry tree, "God, I'm so bored!" She thought out aloud, not noticing a familiar youkai lord looking at her from a window of his study.

Sesshomaru looked at her from the window of his study. He had heard her words, as she had spoken them out of her mouth to herself. And truth to be told, he was bored too. There hadn't been lot's of letters, like usually, when he step into his study, there was only one and that was about masked ball at Eastern Lord's castle next month.

Suddenly he got an idea, a great one.

"Jaken!" He yelled and the toad servant ran right away over to him.

"Hai, Sesshomaru-sama?" He asked, his head bowed down.

"Is there any festivals nearby towns at my land tonight?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Hai m'lord, there is... at Kobanko's town, only hour walk from here... There should be a late summer festival," Jaken answered and bowed deep. [Jade Garden: I don't know any Japanese Festivals, but I would love if some of you kind reviewes could tell them to me... ^__^ Plewse?]

'Sounds intresting...' The western lord thought and nodded his head, "You're dismissed Jaken,"

"Hai M'lord," He said and bowed once again before walking out of them room.

Sesshomaru cast a one final look out of the window, before he went to tell a servant to put his and Kagome's clothes ready for tonight.

"We are going WHERE?" Kagome asked that night after the servants had helped her to dress into a beautiful, but simple light blue yukata.

"To the village nearby. It takes only a one hour to walk," Sesshomaru told her. He was wearing a dark blue haori and hakama pants.. Both of his swords were resting against his right hip and his fluffy tail was resting on his shoulder.

"B...Bu why are we going there?" She asked her blue eyes showing her supriseness.

"Just wait and see," He told her and quickly put his tail around her small torso, bringing her close to his cheast.

Kagome blushed lightly as they flew towards the village...

At the Kobanko's town people, mostly humans and youkais, were busily walking on the street.

"Brat! Did I not tell you to stay out of the village while the festival?"An angry voice of a midle-aged man could be heard to yell at a poor, hungry and abused little girl, no older than six or seven.

The little girl looked at the man with tears in her brown eyes. The girl wished she could talk and beg the man to give her something to eat.

"Oh no, little gaki! Those eyes does not effect me," The man told and nodded his head to a two men, who came over to the girl, dragging her out of the village.

The girl tried to struggle free, but the men were stronger than she and she was simply too hungry and tired for eating nothing for three days but starberries and blackberries at the forest and not sleeping because she feared that youkai would come and hurt her.

Violently, the men throw the girl on the cold forest floor, leaving her all alone in the dark forest to cry out for her helpness, tiredness and hungriness...

Sesshomaru landed into the dark forest after flying half an hour. The village was now only ten or fifteen minutes walk away. The youkai lord put the young miko down, taking his tail around her body and putting it around his right shoulder.

"Come, the village is on this way," He told her. Kagome nodded and followed Sesshomaru close behind for a while, until she suddenly stopped.

"Do you hear that?" She whispered and looked at the youkai lord, who had also stopped walking. He nodded and sniffed the air, smelling a salty tears and blood of a young human girl.

Sesshomaru pointed to left and felt Kagome unconsciusly taking a hold on the sleeve of his haori, as he started to walk towards the sound.

When they step into a small clearing, they saw a small cute girl, laying on the cold forest floor, sobbing quietly.

Sesshomaru, being a youkai, could see the burses, cuts and notice her broken leg in the dark. He could also hear her stomach growling for food.

"Ohmygod!" Kagome's gasped and startled voice came behind him, as she ran towards the beaten girl, who had stopped sobbing for a while. Her brown eyes looked at him and the miko next to her. The little girl's eyes were wildly open by suprise and fear.

'Why does she fear for us? I could understant if she feared for me, but Kagome too? And who has caused those burses, cuts and her broken leg to her?' He thought as he looked at the girl, who tried to back away from Kagome.

"Clam down, we are not going to hurt you. My name is Kagome and this is Sesshomaru. What's your name, little one? Why are you all alone at the forest? Where's your family?" Kagome asked from the girl.

The girl looked first at Sesshomaru, then Kagome, before her eyes fill up with tears and she begun to cry again.

Gentlenly, the miko took the little girl into her arms and picked her up to sit down on her lap, trying to clam her down by gentle words.

"Be careful with the girl. Her leg is broken badly and she has many cuts and burses on her body," Sesshomaru told her, as he walked over to them.

"What?" Kagome blinked.

"I'm sure you heard me,"

"B... But who could be so cruel to do something like that to a little girl?" She pondered out aloud.

"Youkais... But she doesn't have any youkai's scents over her, only a musky smells of the village men," He told her.

Kagome nodded and noticed the girl now sleeping in her arms. Gentlenly, she put the girl on the floor, putting her hands against the girl's stomach. Closing her blue eyes, she called her miko powers to heal the little girl. A familiar blue light surrounded both girls for a while, before it faded away, showing a smiling Kagome.

"Do you feel tired or dizzy? Should we go back to the castle?" Sesshomaru asked.

"No, why would I?" She asked, picking the girl up into her arms and wondering why the lord of the west was so nice to her.

"When you healed me with you miko powers, you fainted down," He answered.

"Oh... I remember something like that, but let's not care about it. I'm feeling just fine. Let's go to that town you wanted to so much to go," Kagome smiled, holding the little girl in her arms.

"What are you going to do with the girl?"He asked as the continued their way towards the town.

"I'm going to take her to the town and see if someone is looking for her,"

"What if there isn't no one looking for her?" He asked rising his eyebrown.

"We'll see then," She just simply answered, smiling a small smile...

"Her parents are dead. Had been past two years. She lives alone at a small crappy thing she would call "hut or "home" if she would speak," A riseballs selling man told Sesshomaru and Kagome.

"Might do you know her name? Or anything else about her?" Kagome asked.

"Her name is Rin. That's all me and the other people at this town know about her," He told them.

Kagome nodded and thanked the man for the information.

"So, what are you going to do about the kid?" Sesshomaru asked as they walked around the village.

"I don't know yet... But one thing is sure,"

"Hn?"

"I'm not going to leave her here to get beaten by the people," She answered truthfully, giving Sesshomaru a small smile.

The youkai lord nodded," The girl is waking up. I'm sure she is hungry. Let's go to find some place to eat," He told and walked over to a hut where was wroten at the door with Kanji "Noodle Palace".

The little girl in Kagome's arms opened her brown eyes and looked around, her eyes growing wild by the fear. She started to struggle to get free and away from Kagome and the town.

"Clam down Rin-chan. No one's going to hurt you no more," The miko from future told the girl in her arms, making her stop the struggling and looked at the miko questionally.

"Are you hungry?" Kagome asked.

Rin nodded.

"Good. We were just going to in that noodle shop. C'mon, let's go!" The miko smiled and step inside the noodle shop with the girl in her arms and Sesshomaru walking silently behind her...

The three of them sat around a small but old Japanese dinning table eating noodles and drinking tea.

Rin finished her six bowl of noodles, giving them a cute smile.

"Are you still hungry Rin-chan?" Kagome questioned.

The girl shook her head, stood up and bowed. She walked over to the youkai lord -who was looking elsewhere meanwhile- and gave him a big hug, then walked over to Kagome and gave her a hug also.

"Rin..." The girl tried to say, but stopped as if to think about something," Rin is... thank...thankfu..."

"Thankful?"Kagome helped with the word. The girl nodded her head happily and smiled.

"Rin... Do you talk?" Sesshomaru asked, after being silent turning the whole meal.

Rin looked at him and then shook her head sadly," ...lit...littl...little," She answered.
