******Blah Blah Blah*******- Dream
"Ichigo....your staring off into space again" Kai sighed as she swept the floor of the store room.
Ichigo fiddled with her Jade necklace, turned and smiled at her sister, her fangs making her look like a cat. "Sorry I was just thinking."
Kai laughed "About what,"
"Dad," Kai abruptly stopped what she was doing and took on a sad gaze.
"What about him?"
"Well,.....I think he knew he was gonna go yanno, like certain things I remember him saying."
"I don't remember much, I was only six when."
"Yea Kai I know..." Ichigo sat down on a crate as she gazed off into space. "You should be glad you don't really remember that night......I wish I didn't."
Kai went to go say something when suddenly there was a violent shaking of the ground.
"What the..Ichigo?" Kai yelled. There were faint screams heard from the village. Ichigo and Kai looked at each other frightened.
"Haku!" Ichigo got up and ran as fast as she could, with Kai following.
"Haku! Haku where are you?" Both girls screamed as loud as they could over the chaos in the village.
"Kai go left try to find him, met me in the middle in two minutes got it?" Ichigo ran at her sister's nod of understanding.
"Haku, Haku!" Ichigo looked around in vain, she couldn't find her brother anywhere. She started to panic. "All right, All right Ichi, don't panic...Don't panic, you'll find him." She looked around. "Oh god he's probably screaming my na-" An idea hit Ichigo. "That's it...I can listen for him." She concentrated, focused on the demon blood within her and twitched her ears. "Come on Haku scream, tell me where you are," Nothing she was getting nothing. She was about to give up when a faint sound caught her attention. "THERE!" Haku was yelling her name! Without a second thought she ran off toward the source.
Haku was hunched down, hiding from a large fire and a giant mantis demon. The behemoth insect knelt closer and closer to Haku, only to be disappointed when Ichigo ran and grabbed him out of the way. He could barley breathe he was crying so hard.
"Shhh Shh" Ichigo rubbed his back "It's OK Haku it's OK." She turned to face the demon. "Oh boy... Haku, stay here all right." She slowly stood up and faced the insect. They just stood there suddenly the Mantis lunged it's giant claw at her and the boy. "Shit Haku outta the way!" Ichigo didn't wait for the boy to respond, she shoved him as hard as she could, getting clocked on the side of the head instead. She slammed into the tree behind her.
"Ichigo!"
"Haku stay there and shut up!" Ichigo yelled as she got up slowly. She only got half way when she realized that here hair was stuck in the tree. Somehow it got wedged in the bark. She couldn't move! She stared helplessly as the claw came closer. She had a choice, be scalped or be sishkabobbed. She chose scalping. She got as far as she could from the tree and braced her self for immense pain. What she didn't expect was to feel some of her hair, terribly shortened, hit her neck. She blinked and looked behind her. Her hair was hanging from the tree and the mantis was rearing for another attack. This told her two things. One the mantis was kinda stupid and can't readjust its aim, and two...those claws were really sharp. Determined now, she turned back to face the demon. "Haku get behind me." She flexed her right arm. She wasn't used to using it, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Feeling that Haku was grabbing onto her leg for dear life, she raised her arm. "All right Ichi you can do this." With a hesitant gesture, Ichigo tore the beads off of her hand and released her wind tunnel. It felt strange, there was only three times she had used the wind tunnel. She couldn't help it, she screamed at the surge of the demonic aura in her body. When the demon finally was all the way in her arm, she hurriedly put the beads back on and promptly collapsed.

The night was deathly quiet. Not a single sound could be heard. A lone figure walked down the outside hallway, a great sense of erie clam projecting off of him. He walked slowly towards one room, gently opening the door. He stared down at the twelve year old girl. He felt terribly guilty, he was leaving her with a fate she shouldn't have to have. A responsibility that he had hoped and prayed for that she would never get. He knelt down at her bedside and kissed her forehead softly.
"I'm sorry," He whispered as the child stirred gently. "I'm so sorry." He got up and traveled to the next room which housed a six year old girl this time. He repeated the kiss on the forehead and walked to another room. His heart broke as he saw his wife, sleeping peacefully. 'Probably for the last time,' He though to himself. He wanted to cry as he saw the very noticeable bulge in his wife's belly. One more month to go, why couldn't it wait for one more month. He started to tear up as he thought about the child he would never get to see. Not being able to stand it anymore, he quickly left the room. He walked to the front porch and collapsed to his knees. He started crying hard as the pain in his right arm grew worse. He knew this was it, it was time, it was what he had been dreading since before he could remember, so he cried. Not for the pain, that he was used to by now, but because he had hoped it would never come. He foolishly hoped that he would never have to put his wife and kids through the same pain he had when he was younger. His sobs grew louder and louder the more he thought about the life he was going to leave behind. He choked back more tears as he recalled the happiness of that day he thought it was all over. He grabbed his wife and swung her around, kissing her deeply. He found himself truly looking forward to his future. Now he had wished he hadn't. Pretty soon, the pain got to be too much, he couldn't keep quiet. Screaming he grasped his right arm, hunching in on himself. This is it.

Pretty soon, the pain got to be too much, he couldn't keep quiet. Screaming he grasped his right arm, hunching in on himself. This is it.
Sango's eyes burst open, and she hurriedly looked to her left where Miroku usually slept. She was out like a flash upon seeing he wasn't there. Something told her something was seriously wrong. Hearing another scream of pain from the front yard, she ran as fast as she could in her state. When she reached the door way, her heart plummeted. She felt the wind pick up more speed. He hand was at her mouth as she saw Miroku hunched in the middle of the yard, grabbing his right arm, screaming in pain.
"No...This....This can't be happening.....No." Another loud outburt of pain smaked Sango out of her shocked daze. Sadly it also woke up the two children.
"Mom...?" The terrified twelve year old whimpered, clutching tighter to the younger one in her arms. She couldn't take her eyes off of her father in the yard.
"Mommie?" The six year old huddled closer to her older sister who was carrying her, and looked at her mother with fearful eyes.
"Go back inside Ichigo, take Kai too." Sango said, trying to make it sound like nothing was wrong.
Ichigo looked her mother straight in the eyes. "Something's wrong," She confirmed.
"Ichigo, I don't want to argue, just take Kai and go back inside." Sango almost yelled.
Ichigo looked to her father in the yard as he screamed yet again. Her eyes grew wide as she pieced everything together. "The wind tunnel! Something's wrong with the wind tunnel!"
"Ichigo, God dammit take Kai and get back inside now!" Sango did yell this time, "This is nowhere for you to be!"
"Mommie!" Kai yelled, starting to cry at the yelling. Ichigo gave a determined look to her mother and promptly shoved Kai in her arms, before running out into the yard.
"Ichigo get back here, It's not safe!" Sango went to go run after her, but Kai clutched tighter to her, halting her movements.
"Dad!" Ichigo called, pushing through the winds now even faster and stronger. She finally reached Miroku and grasped his shoulder. "Dad!"
Miroku jerked his head up, eyes swollen from tears and filled with immense pain. "Ichi..." he grunted.
Ichigo's eyes couldn't stay on her father's face. They kept trailing down to the gaping hole that was consuming her fathers hand. She felt herself be pulled toward him as she watched the hole get even bigger. " Daddy?"
"Ichigo? What are you doing, get the hell outta here!" Miroku screamed.
Ichigo blinked, her father never yelled at her, or even cursed at her, that meant something was really wrong. She paused, she was lost, she didn't know what to do. "Daddy?" She said in a tiny voice. A voice that jerked Miroku's memories of that horror filled afternoon, waiting for her to wake up from the deadly attack that left her tainted. He was never so scared or nervous in his life, and never so unbelievably happy to her a tiny voice say one word. Miroku shook his head. No, this wasn't the time, he had to get her out of there. He went to go push her when suddenly the pain in his hand grew to immense for him to ignore.
"Gahh!" Miroku let out a blood curdling wail of pain, clutching his arm. His tears came out even harder as he sobbed in pain and misery. He turned toward Ichigo, who looked unbelievably terrified " Ichi.........get...out...of here.......as...far.....as.....you...can .....run....now....hurry..." Ichigo was frozen at the spot. " MOVE GOD DAMMIT, I SAID HURRY!" With his left hand he shoved Ichigo as hard as he could. Ichigo gave a look back, she saw her father, the strongest person she knew, crying and gasping in pain. The man who was always patient with her, shoving her and screaming at her. With tears welling in her eyes she ran as fast as she could in the monster winds back to her mother.
"Ichigo! What were you thinking?" Sango yelled, relived her daughter was back safe. Ichigo ran up the her, with tears streaming down her face.
"Mom, oh god mom, what's gonna happen to daddy?" Ichigo clung to her mother, crying while staring at Miroku, a lone figure out in the yard. "Why? Why aren't you helping him?" She sobbed.
Sango, also crying, grabbed her daughter hand. "Cause I can't."
Miroku's screams got harder and harder to bear. They echoed throughout out the whole forest, into the town. The three girls on the porch could do nothing.
"I can't take it anymore...I don't care what he says!" Ichigo exclaimed as she ran off the porch. Total shock stopped her in her tracks. With a giant gust in wind, and one final scream, he was gone. Miroku, her loving father, the monk, was gone. Instead was a large crater. She just stared, too shocked to feel anything. She jerked around when she heard her mother's faint cry of help. Watching her mother faint, clutching her stomach, Ichigo went to go run to her side. She stopped however, when a large pain surged up her right arm.
"AGAHH!" She screamed falling to the ground. Cradling her arm against her chest, she felt she could get up again but the second she moved, the pain increase ten fold. " AHH!" Kai just stood there, not knowing what to do, her mother was out, her father gone and her sister screaming in pain. She started to cry.
"Kai?" Her sister grunted from the ground, " Kai listen to me....ahh..... stop....crying....Engk!.....Just stop and run as....fast...as...you...can...to..the..vil...age. Get....help." Ichigo screamed in pain again. " Kai Hurry get help!"
The little girl decided to listen to her sister, and with child's determination ran off to the woods that led to the village, only to be stopped by a man in red.
"Watch it." Her jerked her back and pushed her out of his way. Kai watched helplessly as she watched him run up to Ichigo.
"Ahh shit...." He exclaimed as he noticed the crater. He grabbed Ichigo. " Hey listen, I need you to work with me on this all right." Ichigo just nodded in pain, tears flooding down her face. " Where's your parent's room?"
"Kai." Ichigo's voice croaked out. "Ask....Kai..."
"Kai?" Ichigo jerked toward the little girl. " Hey you get over here fast!" When the girl got there he jerked her hand and started walking to the house. " Where's your parent's room? and run fast." Finally reaching the room, he ran straight for the small chest of drawers Miroku had. "Shit where are they....where are they..AHA!" He exclaimed as he pulled out a small purple cloth and some beads. He promptly ran back out to Ichigo, who was now screaming in pure agony.
"Help.....oh god....someone help.." Suddenly a surge of pain, that Ichigo couldn't even scream, it knocked all the air out of her, hit her hand. As soon as it started to subside, the winds started picking up, but before they had much time to gather any force, they were stopped by the man shoving a purple cloth and beads onto Ichigo's hands. She promptly collapsed into the man's lap.
"Hey not now, I need to help your mother," He looked over to Kai. " Hey you, watch over your sister, make sure that stuff stays on her hands, I'll be right back." He grabbed Sango in his arms and ran off faster than a human eye could follow. The last thing Ichigo remembered before passing out were sliver ears.
"No...This....This can't be happening.....No." Another loud outburt of pain smaked Sango out of her shocked daze. Sadly it also woke up the two children.
