Kagome smiled and looked around, glad to be out of her boyish facade for now, and into her natural female figure. She frowned though as she looked up as they passed through the alleyway short cut to some figures in front of them. "Inu Yasha... is that...Kouga?" she whispered.

Inu Yasha focused his eyes onto the figures before him. "God damn it. Yeah, that's him; just stay close to me and don't worry," he said as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close as they walked.

Kouga watched Inu Yasha come his way and smirked. "Leave the boyfriend at home and get you a girl, did ya mutt face?" the raven haired boy asked as he stepped out of the shadows.

Kagome stiffened slightly and looked up at Inu Yasha, tightening her arm around his waist supportively.

Inu Yasha glared at Kouga. "Jealous?" he asked. "I mean I know you wanted me Kouga,but I mean damn.No means no."

Kouga's temper flared."Watch it you little bastard,or you'regoing to end up in the hospital."

Inu Yasha laughed."Hey I like it rough but not that rough.How about you and your little buddies go and play somewhere else;this isn'ta place for little boys."

"Inu Yasha, come on," Kagome mumbled, tugging him through the rankings of Kouga's cronies.

"Yeah, Inu Yasha, run on home," Kouga said in a mocking tone. "So she can wipe your nose for you and tuck you into bed."

Inu Yasha scowled. "Keep running your mouth Kouga, and I'm going to tuck you six feet under."

Kagome whipped around, finally fed up, and whapped Kouga with her clenched fist in the exact same spot where she pegged him with the volley ball in gym. "Next time, it's gonna be your sac again, Romeo, now shut your trap!" she growled.

Kouga glared at the girl and grabbed her by the arm."You dare to hit me,bitch?!"he seethed."You must not have a brain in that pretty little head of yours."

Inu Yasha rushed forward and grabbed Kouga's wrist and pressed a few pressure points there causing him to let go of Kagome and fall to his knees."Touch her again,and I will break every bone in your body,"he threatened as he looked around and sawKouga's gang closing in.Inu Yasha applied more pressureto the raven haired boy's wrist which caused him to cry out."Stepon step closer I break his arm,"Inu Yasha said as he stared the others down.

One of Kouga's cronies snatched Kagome up and whipped out a switch blade holding it to her neck. "Let him go, or your bitch gets it," the boy growled. Kagome swallowed as she felt a thin trickle of blood trail down her throat from where the super fine blade of the knife sliced her tender skin.

Inu Yasha snarled and wrenched his hostages arm harder. Kouga yelled. "Let that bitch go!" he ordered. Inu Yasha wrenched it once more causing Kouga's arm to crack. "She's not a bitch," he warned. "Fine, fine, let the girl go!" Kouga screamed. "Fuck, he is breaking my arm!"

The grip on her neck that the boy had was making Kagome woozy, and her eyesight swam in and out of focus. All of a sudden she felt herself being shoved to the ground and she groaned, not wanting to move, but slowly dragging herself up to look up. She looked at the agony on Kouga's face and then up at Inu Yasha. "Inu Yasha, let him go!" she said hoarsely.

Inu Yasha let the boys arm go and let him fall face first into the pavement and walked over to Kagome. He knelt down and helped her up to her feet.

Kouga also got to his feet and rubbed his aching arm. "You and your bitch are going to pay, Inu Yasha," he growled in warning.

Golden eyes looked at him smirking. "Any time, buddy, just tell me when and where."

Kouga smirked "Tomorrow I will tell you where tonight." Inu Yasha nodded "Sounds good to me."

Kagome leaned against Inu Yasha, looking up at him in deep worry. "Inu Yasha, no..." she whispered.

Inu Yasha turned and led her towards a bench so she can sit down. "Let's sit down so I can take a look at your neck."

She sighed and let him lead her to a place to sit down and leaned back. "Please don't go and get hurt..." she murmured.

He chuckled. "He couldn't hurt me if he wanted to," Inu Yasha said as he tilted her head to the side and cleaned the cut.

Wincing slightly at the stinging sensation, she looked at his shirt collar. "I'm sorry..."

"For what? You did nothing wrong,"Inu Yasha said as he pulled back to look at her."So I don't want to hear that leave your mouth again."

Kagome looked up into his eyes and breathed in deeply. "Alright," she said quietly.

Inu Yasha smiled. "Now, that's a good girl." He reached up and brushed the bangs from her eyes. "Do you want to go back to the dorm?"

A sinking feeling generated deep in the pit of her stomach and she looked down. "Sure, I guess," she mumbled.

His brows furrowed. "What's wrong?"

The girl looked at him, biting her lip for a few moments, then looked away. "Nothing." She stood up, and flashed him the best smile she could muster. "You ready?"

Inu Yasha stood still. "No, I want to know what is wrong first."

Kagome sighed and looked down at the ground, then turning her head up towards the sky. "I guess... I just like spending time with you... ya know?"

Inu Yasha's eyes lit up as he smiled."I like spending time with you,too, Kagome,"he said as he took her hand."Some where else you would like to go?"

The girl looked down at her hand in his and then up at his face, with a warm glow in her eyes. "I don't know. Someplace with a good view." She looked over her shoulder towards the alley where they had run into Kouga and the boys. "And quiet."

"I know just the place," Inu Yasha said as he led her towards the park. "It's peaceful and pretty."

The girl smiled and shivered as a cool wind blew by, walking a bit closer to the boy, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Sounds like home..." she said softly and wistfully.

They walked through the gates of the park to see kids running around and playing ball and people walking their dogs. Inu Yasha glanced around as he spotted a vendor near the path way. "Hey do you want something?" he asked as he looked at Kagome. "Hot chocolate maybe?"

The girl looked up at him, and then laughed. "Sure, why not?" Dodging a dog bounding after a squirrel she stepped into Inu Yasha's chest. Lifting her face to look up at him, she felt a bit of a blush stain her cheeks, but she carefully looked back down.

He smirked. "Hey did you know you look good in red?"

Kagome looked up at him again sternly. "Inu Yasha, Can I ask you something?"

Inu Yasha blinked. "Uhhhh, I guess...what is it?"

She leaned closer to him and looked deep into his eyes. "Since I'm not dressed as a guy, can I kiss you?"

He blushed and leaned his down to hers. "Please do; I have wanted ask for one all day," he muttered as he pressed his lips to hers.

Kagome felt her breath catch and her hand traveled up to the nape of his neck, tangling in the back of his hair. She melted against him and wrapped her other arm around him as well, to brace herself, planting her feet firmly in the ground.

He tightened his arms around her waist as he pulled back from the kiss and leaned is head on her shoulder. "How about that hot chocolate now?"

The girl nodded slowly. "And Inu Yasha?"

"What Kagome?" he asked as he led her over to the vendor.

She smirked up at him. "You look good in red too."

Inu Yasha coughed and then rubbed his red face as he ordered their hot chocolates.
