A sigh passed over the girl's lips as Kagome leaned back and groaned. "Dammit…"

Inu Yasha walked out of the bath room with a towel over his shoulders and grey sweat pants on. "What?" he asked as he looked over her way.

Kagome shook her head and brushed her hair out of her eyes. "Nothing."

Inu Yasha raised a brow and shrugged as he walked over to his desk and took a seat. "Well you will tell me when you feel like it I guess," he said as he opened his history book.

The girl leaned over her book and just ignored the boy.

Inu Yasha sat there doing his history homework and growled because of the silence. "What wrong with you? Why are you so quiet tonight?" he asked as he spun around in his chair to look at Kagome.

Kagome lifted her eyes to look at Inu Yasha. "Guess I'm just not in a talking mood I guess."

He growled. "Why? You act like your mad or something."

"Why would I be mad at you?"

Inu Yasha threw up his hands. "I don't know, you tell me.You have been acting weird since we got back today."

Kagome looked over at him, her eyebrow twitching. "I've been acting weird?!"

"Yeah, weird! Like you're pissed or something," Inu Yasha said and turned back around to his desk "Never mind, forget I asked."

The girl blinked. "Do you want to go out to eat?" she asked suddenly, out of no where.

Inu sighed "Yeah Im kind of hungry.Where do you want to eat?"He asked as he closed his book.

The girl slid off the top bunk and landed softly on her toes. "Hmmm...." she said thoughtfully, pushing her previous thoughts out of her mind. She leaned forward, resting her arms on his shoulders and her chin on his head. "Something inexpensive."

Inu thought for a minute "Burgers and fries sound ok?"

Kagome nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him excitedly. "Sounds wonderful!" she exclaimed as she released him and danced away to tug some shoes on.

The young man stood up and rubbed his eyes "I need a break anyway."He walked over and pulled on some boots "Just make sure you act like a guy Souta." he said as he smiled and looked over her way "No grabbing my ass or anything."

She stuck her tongue out at him and huffed. "Fine."

He laughed "Ok are you ready?"

She nodded and followed him out of the dorm only to see Kouga heading their way straight off the bat. "Oh great," she mumbled under her breath.

Inu rolled his eyes "Dont worry about him he doesnt have the balls to start anything."Kouga glared as he approached the pair and as he passed he stuck his foot out and purposely tripped what he thought was the young man that was Inu's room mate."Excuse me..I didnt mean to do that."he said with a smirk.

Kagoe tossed her head back and glared up at him. "You bastard!" she spat out, her irritation had been growing all day and it was only through force of habit that she had been cheery moments ago, but this was just too much. She jerked herself up and charged at Kouga, grabbing him by his ponytail.

Kouga reached back grabbing the young boy by the arm and flipped him over his shoulder.He smirked down at the boy as he raised his foot to kick him in the ribs when Inu Yasha tackled him from behind and began to beat Kouga into an unconcious state.

Kagome looked up, horrified to see the two boys pummeling each other and threw herself onto Inu Yasha, dragging him back off of Kouga. "Come on, Inu Yasha!" she pleaded. "Please stop!"

Inu pulled against her hold "Let me go damn it I have to repay him for this afternoon!"He yelled as Kouga sat up and wiped the blood from his mouth "You bastard I hope you know you just declared yourself a dead man!"

Kagome wrapped her arms around his waist as she struggled to hold him. She pressed her cheek firmly against his back. "Please don't. He's not worth the time it would take to swing another punch!"

Inu Yasha growled as he broke free from her hold and stormed off to get some food.

Kagome stood there for a moment, staring down at the floor. She then turned a glare towards Kouga and raced off after Inu Yasha, falling in step behind him.

Kouga licked his bloody lip "that bastard is dead."

Kagome walked into the store behind Inu Yasha. He hadn't spoken the whole walk there. She sighed and looked towards the back of the place. The girl looked up at him. "I'll be back in a second, bathroom break," she said as she disappeared.

Inu nodded as he ordered to burgers and two orders of fries.He then blinked as he realized where she was going "Oh please tell me ...oh god I have a bad feeling..."he muttered to himself as he turned to order their drinks and pay for the meals.

Kagome came out of the bathroom a few seconds later, her breasts unbound and her only in her undershirt, which was a white tank top and her pants. She carried the bandage and shirt waded up in a ball under her arm. She shook out her hair and smiled at Inu Yasha before she sat down. "I feel better."

Inu grabbed their meals "You dont listen do ya ?"He asked as he walked over to a table to sit down.

She shrugged. "No one saw me."

He shrugged and took a bite of his burger and pushed her food over to her across the table.

Kagome smiled and picked up the burger. She chewed her food quietly as she listened to the soft sad music droning through the speaker system. "You know..." she said softly. "I really thought you were going to kill him back there."

Inu took a drink of his soda and the spoke "I had planned on it."

Kagome just shook her head and sighed and went back to eating in silence.

"No."

"Then what?"

Kagome just shrugged.

Inu quickly polished off his hamburger and started on his fries.He sighed before he spoke "I dont like anyone calling me a bastard and him hitting you just made me see red."

The girl paused in her eating and looked up into his eyes. "Really?" she asked softly, as her heart pounded a bit louder in her ears.

He nodded slowly "it strikes a nerve to see a man hit a woman."

Kagome mentally locked her heart in a safe. 'Baka! He was just doing what he'd do for anyone else. 'the hell you getting so worked up for?!' she thought snappily at herself but forced a smile on her face. "Well, I'm not a woman anymore, remember?

He gave a lopsided smile "Looks like you are to me at the moment."

Before she could keep it from slipping loose, a blush stained her alabaster cheeks. She peered up at him through her full dark lashes and then shifted her gaze and coughed. "Yea I guess I look kinda femalish in the upper department."

"You are a rather pretty girl Kagome."inu said as he popped a fry into his mouth.

The girl ducked her head and studied the remainder of her burger. "I guess so," she mumbled.

"I know so ."The young man responded.

She scowled. "Oh yea, when did you become the expert?"

He shrugged "i have seen plenty of girls in my time."

Kagome rolled her eyes. "Yea and I'm just passing through, don't mind me," she muttered as she shoved another bite of burger into her mouth.

Inu rolled his eyes "I didnt mean it that way .Geez I meant I have seen alot of pretty girls out in town."

She stuck her tongue out at him and shrugged her shoulders slightly. "Whatever, not like I'm your ball and chain, no need to clear it up."

Inu smacked his hands down on the table "God damn it will you stop?! If I didnt care I wouldnt save you."

Kagome blinked and shrunk back a bit. She blushed shamefully and looked down. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to act ungrateful..." she said quietly.

Inu sat back and closed his eyes "im sorry for acting like that.Lets just say my temper runs in the blood line."

She smiled. "I'm an ex-slave remember? I've seen worse tempers."

He shook his head "I know what you went through I have seen what happens to prostitutes first hand ."

Kagome offered him the rest of her burger. "I can't eat anymore, I dont know where my appetite went."

He shook his head surprised she didnt ask what he meant "No thanks not hungry."

She looked at him. "Inu Yasha?"

"Huh? What?"he asked .

"What did you mean just now?"

He blinked as he shook his soda cup "My ...my mom was one."Inu said quietly.

"So what?" she asked indignantly. "She loved you, didn't she?"

"Yes she did but I am a product of it."He said as he picked at a napkin "Thats why Kouga said what he did."

Kagome rolled her eyes. "So what? You aren't any better or any worse of a person just because of who your parents are." She shook her head. "Kouga doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground anyway."

Inu smirked "Thats true."

The girl shot him a brilliant smile from her seat across the table from him. "See?" she said as she stood up brushing off her pants. "Let's go for a walk, it's too nice to stay inside."

Inu nodded as he got their tray and threw away the trash "I guess some fresh air wouldnt hurt."

She smiled and linked her arm. "Come on, Dorothy," she said, giggling. "We're off to see the wizard!"

Inu laughed "I see we are in a good mood now."

The girl looked up at the night sky and took in a deep breath, enjoying the night air. "Yea, it happens every now and then," she said smirking.
