Goin' Under

Chapter six

Hold On

AN: sorry for the REALLY long wait. Recently I have had a lot of places to go and all my teachers thought it would be kewl 2 give us all projects at the same time. But now it's finally over. YES!!!!!!!!! Anyway begging forgiveness!! Lets get on with the story.

Inuyasha trudged into his house. The house was always so quiet now, until Sess or Inuyasha started a fight with `him'. The house had been a lot better before, only Inu and Sess fighting and rarely his father/mother and Sesshomaru. But the house was uncomfortable with everyone. His father was such a Bastard for doing what he did. And Inuyasha had at least had a little respect for his father before. Before he saw all the unfamiliar girls. But now he had the gall to bring one of those whores into his family's house, walk up to his wife (with the other girl still clinging to him), and tell her to just leave.

He was lucky Inu was out with Kagome, otherwise the man would be in a whole in the ground where he belonged. Inuyasha had still felt like murdering his dad when he found out what had been done.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FLASHBACK~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inuyasha trudged into the house after seeing a movie. Kagome had fallen asleep in the car and he had had to carry her to her room. But afterwards it began to rain. The specks of liquid had soaked completely though his light white T-shirt to the point where it was practically see-through.
Slipping off his tennis shoes so that the water wouldn't get all over for his mom to have to clean up, he headed up the winding stairs. Once at his door he heard voices down the hall. One his father's the other was unfamiliar but unmistakably a female.
They were talking low and it sounded as though they didn't know he was home. Creeping up to his father's door, he heard more of the conversation. But only small bit were heard like; "…at least she's finally…" "…Never really loved…" "…Come on, please..." and then he heard the girl giggling as his father chuckled slightly.
Inuyasha scrunched up his nose in disgust. Well, it was it was easy to figure what was happening. His father had found yet another woman to bring home, and she was probably too young to even be considered a woman. Well, at least that other wench was gone. He was just praying fervently that no more girls would move in. It was really uncomfortable.
Ignoring the continued noises from his father's bedroom, Inuyasha sulked down the hall to his own room. (I don't think I've ever really described Inuyasha's room so here it is. If I have sorry for this.)
He pushed open the door to his room and found the other woman there. The red haired woman with which he was still trying to get used to, was sitting on the edge of her bed with her hands covering her face.
Her body was shaking uncontrollably and Inuyasha felt sorry for her. Actually, she was the least slutty bitch he'd ever brought home. And now she with tears dripping between her fingers as she sat pathetically on the young boy's bed.
Inuyasha knew he was being weak that day when he had escorted the woman home. But at least his summer break couldn't be worse. Or so he thought.
***One month later***
Kagome sat quietly in her room, she was currently on her knees rummaging through old cardboard boxes and pulling some things out every once in a while. She had also moved things around in her room. Her bed was now positioned so that her head was near the window. Her desk was now against the wall behind her headboard. On it were things she usually kept hidden, but decided to set out, things from her mother. There was a black shirt that was now much too small to even try to fit into. On the shirt was a chain necklace with two signs; female and male. Next to these was a small oak wood box. It was I bit dusty and it had never been unlocked. At least not by Kagome.
When she had first found it, three days ago, she had tried and tried for hours to pick the silver lock on it, but to no avail. It was sealed shut and Kagome wished she hadn't stashed all of this stuff before, if she had paid more attention then maybe she could have asked her mother if she knew how to open it.
Now it sat with a bunch of crumpled school reports and papers all over it. There were also letters from her mother to her when she was younger and mom had visited America.
Kagome was sad, but she was too used to it and could get over it in seconds. She stopped her rummaging to glance at her watch. It read 4:47. Inuyasha would be over at 5:00 to take her to the movies again and then they would go to a concert for most of the rest of the night. She moved to her now half-empty closet. She changed into a pair of baggy black and dark green pants and a black tank dress. She wore her mom's chain necklace and a necklace with the Evanescence symbol on it.
After applying more eyeliner and blood red (almost black) lipstick, she returned to her room and looked through some more boxes. She found a thin hard backed book with the words: Takashi High School 1973-1974. In it were pictures of several senior students, including her mom. The strange thing was that her mom seemed much happier and on the next page was a picture of her and a tall, black-haired boy. They were voted cutest a couple and Kagome had to admit that they did make a cute couple. But what bothered her, was that her mom had her hand on her belly. It was slightly bulging Kagome knew immediately…she was PREGANANT!!! This made no sense. Of course she had never known how old her mother was, or how old she was when she had Kagome. But this was not her father. He did look a bit younger than her mother. But he seemed happy. The whole picture seemed happy. But Kagome just got a huge knot to form in her stomach from looking at it.
Maybe…maybe this was why her "father" had hated her so much. It wasn't as she had thought or been told. It was because she wasn't even his child. He had treated kinder than her mother had. So what had happened, why wasn't this man her father. Maybe he left her, or maybe he had died. Maybe her mother just didn't love him anymore.
Suddenly a shrill honk resounded through the air. She peered out her window and saw Inuyasha standing outside his car. He was retracting his arm from the window and making his way towards the door.
She smiled sadly; she had no more time for her previous thoughts. Now she was focusing completely no Inuyasha. She dashed down the stairs and flung the door open to find Inuyasha leaning against the railing. He wore an outfit much like hers but with an overly large navy jersey. "You ready to go?" He asked and held his hand out.
She lightly laid her hand in his and he curled his hand tightly around hers. She gave him a small smile as he dragged her to the convertible that was in her driveway. "Wait…is this yours?"
He nodded and chuckled as her eyes widened slightly. The couple got into the car and had some fun with the roof.
Kagome took Inuyasha's hand as he helped her out of the convertible, she looked much more flushed than normal due to her excitement at the concert. It made her look like almost a different person.
"Thanks," she muttered once they had reached the door.
He hugged her in the pale light of the lamps by the door. As he pulled away he leaned in and gave her a chaste kiss no the lips. She watched contently as he pulled the car out into the street and waved before speeding down the street.
Quietly she crept through the empty house. (Her grandfather was at a conference and didn't trust Souta alone with Kagome. Sibling problems.)
She made her way upstairs and sat heavily on her bed, letting out a yawn as a sign of fatigue. She looked over her cluttered floor and her eyes landed on the pictures she had been studying earlier. The book was open and the pages fluttered every-so-often in the breeze from the window.
Maybe it was going to turn the pages, thought Kagome. She was always big on Omens and taking them pretty seriously. But that was just a movie gimmick. It never really happened. Kagome dragged herself over to the book and began flipping through the pictures again. This time she found a picture of who she thought was her dad. He had his hair all messed up and was in a football jersey, several other boys were behind him. And one looked oddly familiar. He had hair that seemed lighter than the others (it was black & white) and he had pointed ears. He looked like Inuyasha's father or brother. But, then again, his father would be about the age of her parents. She also saw one of her parents' friends.
She turned again to the `cutest couple' and left it there after several minutes of staring. Changing into a long black shirt, she crawled into bed and stared out the window. She loved the stars; there were bright and dim ones, all netted into one sky. It was beautiful.
Suddenly a huge burst of wind rushed through her window and she heard a loud BANG! Making her jump. Turning to face her room, she saw that everything seemed to be fine. Just as she readied to roll onto her side, she saw that her mother's yearbook had slammed close, so that the blank white back cover faced up. Kagome knew that this was another omen, but for once she didn't listen to the omens, only her intuition.
