Chapter 3: Child of Power
So, the child, Hana was born. She was a curious little child, seeing as how see hardly ever cried. See was usually giggling or whining. She never really cried unless Kagome or Inuyasha left her sight. It was rare, seeing as how they really never left her.
She was rather…bald headed too. She had but a spoon full of hair; and no teeth. Kagome struggled to keep her happy, though at the time, she didn't know it wasn't hard to please her.
As time started to go by, she was already a month old. It was hard to not tell her family and friends that she had a kid, but…she ended up telling them—well her family anyway. Her mother was shocked to find out why Hana was born, but was happy her grand child was okay. She was also happy about the child's happy moods. She was barely ever sad, or grumpy. Very intelligent, she was always pointing for what she wanted. Remarkable for a month old, isn't it?
Now, two years have passed, and for the sake of luck, every thing was going well. Kagome finished her studies, and was in collage with average grades. Inuyasha still hadn't finished the house---seeing as how it was fairly large. He was just about done, getting all the furniture and such. He had hired a couple of servants, to make sure was fine. Sango and Miroku had finally gotten married, and were expecting their first child in a couple of weeks. Shippo, who was amazingly handsome(for his age) was discovering girls, so Inuyasha was watching him with a careful eye and the village had been turned into a bustling little town, Sango and Miroku were leaders of.
Sesshomaru still hadn't accepted Hana, and banned her from his castle. Kane bitched all she wanted, with threats and everything, but Sesshomaru wouldn't change his mind. Even with there small child, Hajime, the heir to the western lands, had wanted to see his older Cousin. All seemed right in the world for Kagome and her little one.
But there was a problem. Hana was beginning to get angrier, wilder, and louder. She was really, just a normal human girl, and her hair was beginning to turn brown. But since Kagome had school and Inuyasha had to finish up the last things for the house, she was beginning to show signs. Her hair, after on night, had turned to a deep, jet black color, getting thicker and longer. It now reached her butt, and was consistently growing. When she'd get mad, you could sense Miko energy reaching out to everyone—especially Shippo, who she didn't get along with.
Hana hated to be neglected and ignored. She had plenty of friends, and played with them all the time. But she wanted Inuyasha and Kagome to pay attention. Mostly, she had small fangs. No one seemed to notice how she was changing---except, the young boy Jin. He was the child of a half breed---one like Inuyasha, which was why she was accepted. He was a silent child, but strong Bat demon. He had a slight crush on Hana, but valued their friend ship more. Now, this is where it all begins…..

Hana sat quietly under the large sakura tree. She was petting Kilala, who would never let her go anywhere by herself. “Kilala, do you know where mommy goes every few days?” She said to the demonic cat. Kilala was too engrossed with Hana who was rubbing her ears; so she only let out a small `meow'. Hana sighed, and looked up at the night sky. “I wonder why I am here.” Hana truly felt out of place here. She knew she wasn't normal--- was she like papa?
“Hana!” Shippo's voiced went through the forest. Hana jumped. “Oh man, I'll get into trouble…” She had been out to late; she knew auntie and uncle were worried. She didn't want to think about Inuyasha. “HANA!” Inuyasha's voice boomed through the night.
“Hana…”
Hana turned to see Jin, standing there. He was always so dark and secretive, but tough. Secretly, she liked him. “……..run...” He fell, blood coming from his side. She let out a cry, and Kilala went into full form, growling at something. Hana went for Jin, and tried to pick up. She was so scared. Kilala jumped in front of them both and attacked something. She could still hear her name being called. She sobbed slightly, as she dragged Jin's body slowly.
Kilala was thrown back far away, hitting a tree. Hana let out a scream. “DADDY!” she was so scared. Never once had she been so distressed, helpless……weak. Inuyasha had come into the clearing, his sword drawn. “Hana, run! Leave now!” He yelled, but hana refused to leave with Jin. She hugged his body as she saw a large shadow come over her. Deep inside, she was so scared, but there was something else. Anger. She and Jin were consumed by shadow, and disappeared.
`I wish we were some where safe....'
Hana opened her eyes. But when had she closed them? Looking around, she saw A Tall, Angry full-blooded Inuyasha, looking down at her. He grunted, and ran towards the demon she rather not look at. Jin move slightly. “Hana….run… go...” Hana looked around, to see Shippo coming into view with Miroku. They seemed a little pissed--- and hana shook her head. She didn't care. Jin was her friend.
“me….ow…” Kilala came over, with a limp. Hana frowned. This was bad. That thing just hurt her friend! “'Lala...” Storming past Shippo, she stood to watch the fight. Her blood boiled, and she felt…different. “You, you thing, you hurt my friends!” The demon paid no attention to her. “Listen to me!” Once again, she was surrounded by a dark shadow. She reached out her hand, pointing at the demon. “I hate you! You're such a meanie!”
`I want to show it a lesson...'
A bright pink light shot out from her palm, and instantly purified the demon, ashes only left. The light exploded from Hana, and reached to the stars. Suddenly, hana regretted this. She was feeling woozy… “Stop!” the energy expanded, then disappeared. All the energy, the shadow and pink light.
She looked around, petrified. Everyone was looking at her. She, on instinct, tried to Inuyasha. But he stepped away from her. “Daddy?”
Miroku stepped in front of her, shaking. “What…Hana….how'd you do that?” Hana looked at her uncle.
“……… I dunno…..”
“……You're……lying…”
Inuyasha stepped in front of her, growling. “Get away.” Hana looked at her father. “Daddy-" “I'm not your father.”
Hana eyes blurred with tears, she just ran away, into the village. As she ran in the streets, she noticed the stared of the once friendly village. “Mama! Mama!” Hana ran into Kagome's leg. “What?” Kagome looked confused. Who was this girl? “Dear I'm---“
“Mommy!”
Hana sounded like herself. Kagome's eyes widened in horror. Her baby looked like……..him.
In Miroku and Sango's home, Hana sat in the corner, as Inuyasha, Miroku and Kilala were being healed. She sniffled, and Inuyasha glared at her. “Stop that,” He hissed. Kagome hit Inuyasha. “Shut up,” she nearly yelled. She gave an unhappy look to Hana. What happened to her precious child?
Sango looked at Hana. “Hana, tell me, what happened?” Hana looked up to see her aunt. “I just wanted the demon to leave...to teach it a lesson about being m-mean…” she sniffled, hiccupping. “Then, something pink came out. I didn't mean to….do what I did….” Shippo sat near the door, looking at her, “Liar. Didn't you say you want to teach him al lesson?” He said playfully. Hana looked up and glared.
Kagome looked at Hana. “Its okay baby, mommy is here…” She reached out to Hana, and she ran to Kagome's arms. “Mommy…..” Kagome gave a soft smile. “Me and Daddy are here.” Hana started to cry. “…he's not my daddy…” Kagome stiffened. “Why do you say that baby?” Hana looked up, face red, cheeks wet
“'Cause he said so…” Kagome looked up. Inuyasha glared out at the door. “He's just playing, dear,” kagome soothed. “Keh,” Hana looked at Inuyasha. “Rweally, daddy?” Inuyasha looked at her, and sighed. “Yes.” Hana smiled. “Mommy, is Jin okay?”
Kgome looked at Hana. “Jin? Oh!” She remembered the little boy who she returned to his mother. “Yes, he is with his mother.” Hana nodded with approvement, and soon, was sleep.
