Shopping for Kagome
The phone rang and then again. Kagome walked into the kitchen and picked up the receiver to her ear.
“Hai. Moshi moshi?” she answered. “Oh. Hi, Yumi.”
“Kagome! Is it true that you turned Hojo down?” the girl's voice shouted from the earpiece.
Kagome let out a sigh before replying. “Yumi, you know I'm with Inuyasha. I can't be with two guys. Plus I don't even like Hojo that way.”
“But isn't he two-timing you?”
“Yes, but I think I'm ok with it.”
“What?! You're not serious are you? You just can't let him walk all over you!”
“No, Inuyasha's not like that. It's complicated on his part. He made a promise to his ex to be with her in the future and she's holding him to it. The main problem is that I'm with him.”
The phone was silent for a moment before she got a response. “So like, you're the other woman?”
“Hai. I guess you can put it that way,” Kagome said.
“Oh, wow! Go Kagome! Oh my gosh, you are my new idol!” Yumi squeaked. Kagome only smiled and shook her head. “You've got to bring him to our Christmas Party tomorrow night and show him off. Get him in some hot clothes and make all the boys jealous up to their ears! I'll see you at eight tomorrow night! Ja ne!” Click. Inuyasha? At a party? Kagome wasn't sure if she liked that idea. `Wait.' Kagome thought. `Where is Inuyasha anyways? I haven't seen him all day. He's probably mad at me from before.'

The hanyou sighed and stretched his arms behind his neck. He had is red hakama on, but just a white shirt and his hat to cover his ears. Sota, beside him, was just about covered from head to toe in winter clothes. Inuyasha didn't feel the need to have his whole outfit since he liked the cold and can tolerate it better than humans can.
“How about you get her a pretty necklace?” the boy asked. “Girls like pretty jewelry.”
“Nah. I want to get her something that she can use, not just look at,” Inuyasha said. `And something good,' he added to himself. `I hope I can make it up to her for what I did.' He mind flashed back to the image of Kagome under him on the couch. She looked so beautiful, slightly exposed with her hands rubbing his ears and her arousal reaching his nose.
“Inuyasha, are you ok? Your face is red,” Sota asked.
“Feh. It's nothing.” Of course he just brushed it off. After all, he forced her that way. “See anything good yet?” They walked down the busy street, glancing at the stores as they passed.
“Do you think Kagome would like something customized?” the boy asked.
“Customized?”
“Yeah. Something made especially for her. They're won't be any other copies of it.” That said, Inuyasha glanced over in s carpenter's workshop.
“That's it! I'm gonna get her a bow made. She keeps having to use the ones the villagers make and they break all the time. That arm of hers is getting too strong for those wimpy ones. Come on, runt. Let's go.” He walked into the workshop with Sota following close behind.

Feudal Japan:
Shippo lied on his stomach as he colored on the paper with the crayons Kagome gave him. He hummed a little tune.
“What are you drawing this time, little one?” Miroku asked startling the poor kitsune. Shippo jumped up grabbing his drawing from the monk's eyes. “What's wrong? Can't I see it?” Shippo glared at him while shaking his head side to side. Miroku kneeled down to him and extended out his hand. “Why are you hiding it? Please, Shippo. I won't tell anyone. Monk's honor.” Shippo hesitated and glanced down at his drawing. His cheeks filled up with color as he placed it in the monk's hand.
“It's not very good,” Shippo said.
“No, it's wonderful. Shippo is this supposed to be Inuyasha and Kagome?” He asked. Shippo nodded. “I thought you didn't like Inuyasha around her.”
“I don't! He's a big jerk!” Shippo shot up.
“But he's holding you're hand as well as Kagome's.”
“Shut up!” Shippo snatched the paper from him. “I knew I shouldn't have shown you this.”
“It's ok to think Inuyasha and Kagome as your adoptive parents. Kagome treats you like a son. I'm sure with a little work, Inuyasha would be a father to you.” The monk said.
“Hmmmm…” Shippo looked down at the paper in thought for a moment. He then crumpled it up and tossed it in a corner. “That's stupid!” The little fox walked away sticking his little nose up.
“Well, he's certainly developed Inuyasha's attitude,” He said to Sango who was sitting in a corner, brushing Kirara's tails.
“It seems that he likes Inuyasha more than he liked to admit. I'm sure he got the stubbornness from both of them,” She said. They both laughed at that thought. Miroku sat down next to her and glanced down at his cursed hand.
“Sango, if we defeat Naraku. Do you think we can live in this village? I have no doubt that Inuyasha and Kagome would be around to help Kaede here. I don't like the feeling moving away from are friends.” He said. Kirara jumped off of Sango's lap. The warrior placed a hand in his cursed hand.
“Miroku, I would love to live here with you. But what about Kohaku?” Sango asked.
“I'll make sure to build a big hut for you and set aside a room for him a long with ten others.”
“TEN OTHER ROOMS?!” SMACK.

Kagome poked her head through the door to the woman reading a book in a chair. “Mom, do you know where Inuyasha is?” she asked.
“I do,” she answered simply.
“Well, are you going to tell me?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“He told me not to.”
“Come on, Mama!”
Mrs. Higurashi just chuckled and turned her eyes back to her book. Her daughter let herself in and sat in her lap. Kagome wrapped her arms around her neck and gave her the lip.
“Don't you think that that's going to work, now. You're too old to be doing this.” Kagome continued the lip and batted her eyelashes (pathetic I know).
“Please?” She asked sweetly. Mrs. Higurashi let out a sigh.
“He's out shopping with your brother,” she huffed out. “He's getting you a surprise Christmas present. Don't tell him you know because he'll know I told you.”
Kagome looked at her a little shocked in silence for a second. “So that's why he was working at the mall?” Her mother gave her a nod. “He's getting me a present?” A little blush coated her cheeks. “But why would he wanna do that?” Her mother sat her book down.
“Kagome, why don't you just tell him that you love him?” She bluntly asked.
“What?” Her blush darkened. “What are you talking about?” Her mother gave her a look.
“You seriously think I'm stupid enough to not notice my daughter's falling in love? Ever since you met him, you've been happy. And it's obvious that he's head over heels for you, too. I know true love when I see it, Kagome. It's my sixth sense. I've been waiting for you to ask me if you could stay with him in his time. You have my blessing.”
“Wow,” Kagome paused. “Well, it's not like anything is going to happen soon. We still need to collect all the jewel shards. Not to mention Naraku. And Kikyo. Plus I don't know it's possible for us to be together. They're just no room for it. We're too busy traveling and fighting.”
“I understand that, dear. But promise me that you'll tell him your feelings. He needs to hear it from you. It doesn't have to be soon. And it doesn't have to be in the hope of a future with him. He just needs to hear it. Promise me, Kagome.”
“Hai, I promise,” Kagome said with a nod of her head. She hugged her tightly. “Arigato, Okas-san.”
