InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Happy Holidays Inuyasha! ❯ With Friends Like These... ( Chapter 16 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

AN: Ok. Now I've read an interesting review. And you know who you are so I'm just gonna say it. I appreciate your advice and very open minded to suggestions. However, I cannot change my whole plot just based off what you said. I have a great ending planned out and don't intend to change it. I will take in consideration for your advice to keep the protagonists in character. I see your point and will try to keep it in check for future chapters. Overall, thank you! You gave me awesome feedback and I look forward for more. Alright, enough blabbering…

With Friends Like These…

“Damn it!” Inuyasha paced back and forth while Kagome sat looking annoyed at him. He's been pacing around for almost an hour now. It was driving her nuts.

“Will you give it a rest already?!” She hollered. She was rather irritated with him. Not only because he was pacing quickly like a lunatic but he acted like nothing happened the night before. Absolutely nothing…

“Well he asked us to meet him here then keeps us waiting! I don't even know why I bothered to come,” he remarked harshly.

“You bothered because he knows where Naraku is,” she stated.

“Keh. I think that's a load of dragon piss. Why would he be interested in Naraku? He barely has a connection to that bastard. And better yet, why would he even want to tell us about it?”

“Maybe he's starting to like you!” She said and laughed.

“Oi! That's not funny, wench!” he stopped his pacing and growled.

“Geez, Inuyasha. I was joking with you…” she said eyeing him. He glared at her.

“Don't even-“

“Kagome-sama!” a little girl wrapped in an orange kimono ran out of the vegetation of the forest to hug her friend. The miko smiled and returned the girl's embrace.

“Rin! It's been a while. How've you been?” she asked.

“I've been great. Lord Sesshoumaru is great, too!” Rin said. Of course she had to mention the creature that she would never tire of. Sesshoumaru entered the lake's shoreline shortly after Rin with his servant, Jaken, not far behind him.

“Feh, it's about time,” Inuyasha stated and folded his arms as he sat down on a rock.

“My Rin you are getting tall!” Kagome noted with a smile. “You'll be a young woman in a few years.” Inuyasha watched as his half-brother stared and tensed at Kagome's prediction. The hanyou smirked. Rin becoming a young woman probably never probed into the demon's mind until now. How would he react to her? He had absolutely no experience with human females.

Sesshoumaru's jaw stiffened. This would be a pressing challenge. She'll go into heat and bleed afterwards. She'll surely be confused about the changes she'll go through and that means questions. She'll ask him questions about her body and perhaps about his body and the differences they have. He already has a hard time answering her normal and sometimes annoying questions about everything. How was he going to handle this?

“You think so?” Rin asked with hope and smiles.

“Oh, I know so,” Kagome assured.

“Good! Because I want to be big like you, Kagome-sama. So I can be tall enough to touch Lord Sesshoumaru's nose!” the girl cheered excitedly.

“His nose?”

“Hai. He has such a pretty nose. Don't you think?” she said as she glanced over to Sesshoumaru in admiration. Kagome laughed a bit.

“Yes, it's a very nice nose,” She said, earning a piercing glare from the hanyou and a cold, blank stare from the youkai but she didn't care.

Sesshoumaru floated over to across the way and exchanged a glare with his brother. Jaken, however, settled down on a grassy patch with the staff of two heads tucked snuggly in his folded arms. A silent moment passed by before Inuyasha's patience ran thin again. Just before he could let out a growl, Sesshoumaru interrupted the quiet.

“Naraku had changed his position again. Do you know of the fortress which stood at the west side's shore?” he asked.

“Of course I know that place. You think I'm that stupid? It used to be our old man's place. So what of it?” Inuyasha implied.

“I've planned to claim it's residence in the near future, but when I reached the location it was gone. Not destroyed, it's vanished. That despicable waste of flesh and air had stolen it.” The youkai announced.

“You mean he moved an entire fortress? How do you even know that Naraku did it?” Kagome asked.

“I have my sources…” Sesshoumaru said and shifted his gaze to the miko. “I know of Naraku's exact location.”

“So you're going to tell us?” She asked. The lord didn't respond making the point of that he had no intention in relaying his information.

“Keh. I get it. You want me to break through Naraku's barrier for you so you can get your precious castle back. Never knew you'd stoop this low in asking me to help you.” Inuyasha snorted with amusement.

“On the contrary, half-breed. I would never ask for the assistance of a worthless mutt such as yourself.” Sesshoumaru stated with a cold glare. “Besides, I could easily have a fortress build on my own accord.”

“Then what the hell is this meeting all about, huh? Don't tell me that I wasted my time to play your pathetic games.” The hanyou spat as he launched up from his seat in anger.

“Temper, little brother. You forget this little gathering is Rin's idea.” Sesshoumaru said grazing his hand over the hilt of his Tokijin. Rin ran up between the rivals and faced the younger.

“Inuyasha-sama, Lord Sesshoumaru speaks the truth. I wanted to ask you and Kagome-sama something.” Rin said and then continued. “That fortress is like a home to Lord Sesshoumaru and we hoped to have live there one day. I never had a home to call my own. Please help get it back for us! I know my lord says he can have one built but who knows how long that will take? Do you honestly don't care about Naraku taking your father's home?”

“It is a disgrace to the Great Inu Family! That fortress stands on generations of great ancestors! You must reclaim it, Lord Sesshoumaru!” Jaken squawked and jumped up, flinging his arms at his lord who was turning away from the conversation. “Please reconsider, your grace! Your mother would have wanted it so!” Until this day, Jaken never truly begged Sesshoumaru of something like this before. He was sensitive on the subject of the demon's mother. Jaken have served his mother for five hundred years before she passed away, making him promise his unmoving loyalty to serve her son and respect the family line of powerful youkai.

“That is enough, Jaken,” Sesshoumaru coolly said. “I can't stand and watch as Naraku makes a fool of the Inu no Taisha line. Inuyasha, I still despise the fact that our father's blood runs through your veins but I never thought of you as a plain fool to let our lineage be disgraced. You've proven your loyalty by Sounga. How can you turn your back now?”

Inuyasha stood shocked and stiff as he watched his rival turn and disappear in the shadows of the forest with his servants following. Surely Sesshoumaru wasn't actually asking him for help was he? Thousands of thoughts purged into his head all at once. The memory of seeing his father for the first time after Sounga was destroyed flooded his senses. He remembered how he stood magnificently in the blue light and how he took time to memorize every detail from the hight of his stature to the simple jagged, purple marks on his cheeks because he knew it would have been the only chance to see him.

“Inuyasha?” Kagome placed a hand on his shoulder causing him to snap out of his flashback. He glanced over to her. “Are you alright?” He nodded.

“Damn, Sesshoumaru,” he growled.

“You know, he's right,” She said. “I know it's kinda shaky on where he stands with you but we haven't seen Sesshoumaru since he helped you destroy Sounga. Maybe he's had a change of heart?”

“Keh! Not likely! He's probably just trying to play dirty with me again and try to use my Tetsusaiga! The bastard's piles up his debt to me faster than you can say `Shikon jewel shard'. See what I care about his precious castle!” The hanyou turned and walked over to the lake to wash his face with the cool water.

“Inuyasha!” Kagome pouted and placed her fists on her hips. “We're helping him whether you like it or not! And that's final!” Inuyasha turned his glance back with an angry look.

“You wanna run that by me again, wench?!” He straightened up and faced her.

“You heard me! Or are those fluffy ears of yours deaf?” she asked. He stomped over to her. Kagome's mind screamed at her to back down but her pride got the best of her. She raised her chin as she glared back at his face that was just inches away from her. She tried to stop her face from heating up to how close he was. Geez. I'm pathetic. I'm even turned on when he's mad at me. There is something certainly wrong with me!

Inuyasha's nose did a dance to the sudden change of her scent. He `keh'ed in amusement and brought a claw up to the collar of her haori. He moved the cloth to the side to expose her neck. The hickey he left there last night stood out strong and dark against the paleness of her flesh. He smirked in pride and grazed the bruised skin. Kagome shivered.

“I guess I'll have to punish you then,” he said. “Females are supposed to obey their alpha males.”

“Well too bad for you! I don't have an alpha male!” She rang with a smile and headed to the forest. “I guess I'll have to take Sesshoumaru for a run. I hear he's good with kids unlike someone else I know.” She giggled as she headed towards the youkai's direction until Inuyasha swept in front of her with a glare on his face.

“You wouldn't dare…” he growled. She spun around and faced her back to him, smacking him in the face with her ebony locks.

“Hmm, I think I might,” She said thoughtfully. “Besides, males are supposed to obey their alpha females, Inuyasha.” Inuyasha stepped up behind her and brushed her hair off her bruised neck. He then brushed his cheek against her skin and pressed his mouth against her ear. He let out a rumbling growl of approval that made her scent spike higher. She swallowed hard as she felt his hand make its way down her back and even lower. He was going to pull the lecherous monk move! His claws finally reached the rounded of her bottom and paused.

“I think a good, hard spanking is a fair punishment,” he breathed. She glanced over her shoulder and glared at him.

“You wouldn't dare…” she said.

“Hmm, I think I might,” he chuckled. A gust of wind reached the opening, blowing dust into Inuyasha's eyes, causing him to wince them close. As soon as the wind subsided, he reopened his peepers to find Kagome missing. “What the?! Kagome!” He took a whiff of the air and growled out and leaped off towards the stench he hated the most. The stench of wolf.
