Haunted House, Haunting Past ch. 5

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. He was ‘The demon boy’ from her dreams. His expression was so content and peaceful..

The wind picked up, Kagome’s raven hair streamed wildly in the breeze.

The arrow through his chest was old and weathered and looked as if it would crumble into ash at even the slightest touch. Was he dead?

Kagome went up to the huge dead tree the boy was pinned to. She stepped up on the protruding tree roots that emerged from the hard soil.

She was still having doubts that this was all real, even as she stood merely a foot from him. Her eyes traveled up to his white triangular dog ears that sat perched atop his head. ‘He looks just like he did in my dreams’

Kagome reached for the dog ears; half expecting to wake up at that very moment, yet she never did. She fingered the soft furry triangles not believing they were real. They were so soft and realistic, but Kagome still refused to believe it.

Just as she was about to remove her hands, the dog-like ears twitched.

Kagome jumped back. He was alive?

“Who the hell are you?” A rough, harsh voice came from behind her.

Kagome gasped and turned around, but she didn’t see anyone.

‘That was weird.. I could have sworn I heard someone..’ she thought confused. Kagome focused harder on the spot before her. A figure began to appear. Kagome stood frozen. Her breath caught in her throat and she was finding it hard to breathe.

The same demon boy stood before her, but his appearance was slightly transparent. Kagome could see through him.

His arms were tucked into his sleeves of his red kimono and his fierce golden eyes glared at her angrily.

She turned her gaze back to the tree. He was still there, pinned to the tree. How could there be two of him?

His hard gaze intimidated her and sent chills down her spine. She was scared and her feet seemed frozen in place. She was feeling light-headed. Swirls of shapes blurred together. Color faded to black and she fell to the ground unconscious.

The see-through figure stood mildly surprised before his scowl returned. He scoffed. “Wench..”
