Chapter 14

The Garden

Kagome rested her head on the cool gym floor. Practice was over and only Sango and her were left. I can't believe he was up there.

Sango bent down next to Kagome. "I still don't know why you wanted to jet out of that bar so fast. The guy on stage was hot."

Kagome turned to look at Sango. "I guess he was."

"You guess? He was smoking."

Kagome smiled and decided to not to tell Sango about InuYasha.

"I can't believe that Hojo's father is so hot. I wonder where he gets his genes from."

Kagome's eyes widened as she turned to Sango. "How'd you know?!"

"The way you were acting and the fact that his last name Taisho."

Kagome blushed. "I bet you think I'm a horrible person."

"I did.....until I saw how gorgeous the man was. Go, Kagome!"

"Thanks?" Kagome said not really knowing really what to say to it.

Sango smiled and stood up. "Alright, let's go before we get kidnapped or something."

Kagome shot up. "Kidnapped?"

"Calm down, princess. We're not going to get kidnapped. Not after I took all of those karate classes.

Sango and Kagome laughed as they walked out of the gym doors and into the dark hallways of the school. Their laughing seized as they realized the hallways were pretty creepy.

"You know these hallways are pretty creepy." Kagome said hugging herself to get some type of comfort.

"Yeah, they never look this scary during the day." Sango said digging her hands into her pockets.

Then Kagome saw a dark shadow fly pass them. "Aaah! Did you see that?!"

"Yeah, what was that?!"

"I'm scared!"

"Me, too!"

"I thought you knew karate."

"I'm only a yellow belt."

"We're done for."

"Maybe it was the janitor."

Kagome sighed. "You're right. It's probably the janitor."

Then a figure came out and jumped out in front of them. Sango screamed then took his arm and flipped him on the ground.

"You got him!" Kagome cheered.

"Yeah, I did. I can't wait to tell my sensei."

The perp on the floor began to moan holding his back. "Damn, girl you're strong."

Kagome immediately recognized the voice. "Miroku?! What in the hell are you doing?!"

Miroku got up holding his side. "I was tryin to scare you guys, but I guess that plan backfired. Did you have to flip me like that?"

Sango put her hand on her hip. "You shouldn't have tried to scare us like that."

"You're too beautiful to be manhandling people."

"And you're too old to be playing childish pranks on people."

"Miroku, what are you doing here this late?"

"We had a late practice."

"So, that means Hojo still here. He could give me a ride."

"No, he left early. I hear he got really sick."

"Is he okay?"

"I'm sure he's fine."

"Well, can you give us a ride?"

"Sure, Kag."

They all walked out into the parking lot. "That's your car." Sango said pointing to the silver chrysler 300c.

"Yep." He said as he walked over to it and got into the driver's seat.

"His car is so nice." Sango said turning to Kagome.

"It's alright. It's nothing special. His parents are getting him something better for his birthday."

Nothing special?! I wouls dream of a car like this, let alone an actual car!

Miroku stuck his head out of the window. "Could you please hurry up ladies. My dad's wanted to take me to Garden tonight."

"The Garden! The highly exclusive restaurant where a sald is like fifty dollars!" Sango exclaimed.

"Yeah. You never been?"

"You guys just go to the Garden like it's nothing."

"Of course. It's our usual hanging out spot." Kagome said non-chalantly.

"Hanging out spot?!" Sango took in a deep breath. "I don't think I should be hanging out with you, Kagome."

"Why?"

"You're not my style. I'll walk." Sango then turned around and walked away.

"Sango, wait!" Kagome just gave up when Sango was out of her sight.

Kagome walked over to the passenger side of the car and got in.

"What happened to Sango?" Miroku said as he drove off.

Kagome shrugged. "We were the best of friends earlier. I don't know what's gotten into her."

"I hope it wasn't anything I said."

"It couldn't have been, dispite your perverted ways, you were pretty civil to her."

"Hey, I didn't do anything perverted! That's gotta be a record."

Kagome smiled. "Yeah. Anyways, can you do me a favor?"

"Yeah, anything."

"I believe that Sango thinks we're stuck up or something. So, I was thinking maybe you could take her out and show her that we're not."

Miroku grinned. "I can definitely do that."

"And keep your hands and dirty comments to yourself."

"Of course. Maybe I should invite her to dinner with my dad."

"That wouldn't be a bad idea."

Miroku parked infront of Kagome's house. "Thanks, Miroku." Kagome said getting out of the car.

"Anytime, Kag." He said as he drove off.

Later on that night Kagome waited anxiously on the couch. She wore a sexy little red number she knew InuYasha would like. She left a note on the refrigerator so her mom wouldn't get worried. Kagome then heard the door knock she ran to get it. She opened the door to see InuYasha in a nice black suit, but Hojo wasn't there.

"Where's Hojo?"

"He couldn't make it. He's sick."

"Why are you here?"

"To take you to dinner."

"But...."

InuYasha put his hand up. "Before you say anything, Hojo insisted I take you."

Kagome smiled. "So, where are we going?"

"Suprise."

"I like suprises."

He gave her a grin. "I like that dress. It's red."

Kagome spun around for him to get a better look. "I know."

"Well, let's go."

Kagome smiled as she stepped out of the door then locked it. They walked to the red jaguar that was parked in front of the house. InuYasha walked over to open the passenger side door for her.

"Thanks" she said as she got in.

InuYasha shut the door as he walked over to the other side to get in. He looked Kagome over.

"You know you look gorgeous tonight."

"Thank you." Kagome said as she smiled.

InuYasha nodded as he drove off.

InuYasha parked in an alley. "InuYasha what's out here?"

"Come on" He said as he got out and Kagome eagerly followed.

"It's dark out here?"

"Scared?"

"I wouldn't say scared, but I am pretty freaked out."

They wallked up to a shiny door. InuYasha knocked on it a huge man opened it.

"What'd you....InuYasha?"

"Hey, man."

"What's up! I haven't seen you in a while. Come on in." The man let them enter and Kagome was a little shocked that it was the Garden.

"The Garden?!"

"Yeah, you don't like it?"

"I love it! Why didn't we park in the front?"

"I told you it was a suprise."

Kagome marvled at the greek themed restaurant. It had white colums and green and plush vines. Inuyasha and Kagome sat at a nice table in the middle of the restaurant. Then a waiter came and took their order then left.

"I'm so glad that you brought me here."

"Your welcome."

"I have a question that I've been itching to ask you."

"What is it with you and questions?"

Kagome giggled. "Well, I was wondering if you kew about The Velvet Room."

InuYasha stayed quiet for a second before he spoke. "What about it?"

"I saw you up there yesterday."

InuYasha looked at her nervously. "Well, what had happened was...hold up. Weren't you suppose to be in school?"

Kagome fidgeted with fingers. "What had happened was...Hey! Don't change the subject. You never told me you wrote poems and performed them at that."

"I only got on that stage once."

"I always wanted to go up there, but my poems aren't ready."

"Let me hear one."

"No, I couldn't."

"Come on. If you're going to get up on stage your gonna have to learn how stop being shy."

Kagome sighed. "Alright, but don't laugh."

"I won't"

''By the waters of that lovely lake
we stood and watched the storm.
Our eyes upon the blackened sky,
as the rain began to fall.

With a gentle sigh you took my hand
and pulled me in, so close.
Our pulses, beating a rhythm of passion
as the lightning split the sky.

You gazed into my eyes, so bright
and gently caressed my face.
Your soothing touch entrancing me
as the thunder rumbled above.

And while the storm raged in the heavens,
we kissed, our hearts aflame.
Our lips, warm with the heat of desire
as the wind tore through the trees.

And by the waters of that lovely lake
our lips embraced once more.
Two souls aglow with passion and love,
as the rain began to fall.''

It was quiet for a while between the two. Kagome shook her head. "I know it stupid, but it was my first actual poem....nevermind."

"No, it was wonderful. What's your inspiration?"

Kagome looked around the restaurant not really wanting to say the answer. Then her eyes settled on InuYasha.

"That's what happened when me and Hojo first kissed."

"Well....um....that's romantic."

"That was when I felt something for him, but let's forget about him."

"Kagome, I'm going to go the bathroom." He said getting up and walking away.

Kagome frowned. "I had to open my big mouth."

Then Kagome felt someone approach her and she turned around to find Sango in a black strapless dress.

"Sango?!"

"Hey, princess."

"What are you doing here?"

"Funny thing happened. Miroku invited me to come with his father. You were right he's not that bad of a guy."

"So, you're considering dating him."

"I didn't say that. I'm still not really comfortable with the lifestyle. By that way, your dress is nice."

"Thanks. Your dress is, too."

"I don't need you to tell me that for me to know it." Sango said spinning around.

Kagome giggled.

"So, who are you here with?"

Kagome blushed before she whispered. "InuYasha."

"Really? You hanging out with your sex buddy."

"Sex buddy?"

Kagome and Sango turned around to see InuYasha standing there.

Sango smiled nervously. "Ooops."

"Um..I can....explain." Kagome stammered

"I think I should...go. Bye, Kag. Bye, Hojo's father....I mean...damn." Sango then quickly walked away.

"So, you're telling your whole fucking school about me."

"No! It's just...that...what had happened was...."

"Save it. I knew getting involved with wa a bad idea. Your just a little kid." InuYasha then stormed out of the restaurant

Shit!.
