Chapter 22: Torn

Author's P.O.V

I was so sure I was ready to face InuYasha, but once I saw him my knees began to buckle and I was so scared. Once I looked over his khaki pants and green Lacoste shirt covered frame, and his long silvery-white hair flowing freely down his back like a moonlit ocean I then knew he was a god among men.

InuYasha sighed as he checked the papers of his class. He looked out of his window staring at the Monday afternoon sky. Then Inuyasha let out a frustrated sigh as he was still shocked because of the weekend and how it ended. He hated to see his son shoot death glares at him and he hated to have to avoid Kagome. InuYasha couldn't blame Hojo if he wouldn't forgive him. I was so stupid. What in the hell was I thinking?! "My son's fiance?! I should've never...." InuYasha then slammed his hands on his desk.

Did he really regret having been with me. "You should've never what?" Kagome said in a pain filled tone

InuYasha head whipped around as he saw Kagome in her schoolgirl outfit. "K..kagome." he whispered low. They never saw each other for three days, but to them it was like seeing each other after millions of years.

"InuYasha, I've called and...well...I guess...."

"I know you called." InuYasha said trying to keep an emotionless demeanor.

Kagome slowly walked into the classroom shutting and locking the door behind her. InuYasha could hear her small footsteps until they seized long enough for her to take a seat. "InuYasha, I know you're have to think things over, but...."

"I don't have to think things over, Kagome. It's over between us."

Kagome shot up from her seat. "You don't really mean that do you?."

InuYasha remained silent and looked over to the window again trying to avoid her glare.

Kagome bit her lip and put her hand on her hip waiting for a response. "InuYasha?"

"You're my son's fiance! How could you ever think that we could stay together?" InuYahsa outbursted.

The steamy tears began to gather at the brim of her eyes. "So, just like that....we're through. I'm not important anymore."

InuYasha remained quiet again. He bit back tears that were dying to fall. He couldn't believe he was getting so emotional, he should've never fell for this girl.

"I am talking to you, Yash!"

No answer.

"Am I nothing to you? Do you care about my feelings."

InuYasha clenched his teeth and shot up from his seat. "You knew what this was before you got into it." he said pain clearly etched in his cracking voice.

"But..."

"Get out, Kagome." he said softly, but just enough for Kagome to hear.

This time her tears spilled over. "No!" Kagome then ran to his side and wrapped her arms around him.

"Get out, Kagome." he said painfully. It's for the best. It's for the best. InuYasha kept repeating to himself but he knew it wasn't what he wanted.

"Not until you tell me you don't love me. If you don't love me I'll leave."

It was as simple as that to just say he didn't love her, but once he tried to get the words out he knew he was like Jim Carey in Liar Liar and InuYasha couldn't possibly tell a lie like that. "Just leave." was he could say.

Kagome dropped to her knees and hugged his waist crying in his stomach. "I love you, InuYasha. Don't you know that?" Kagome said looking up hopefully in his eyes.

InuYasha looked down at the woman before him and almost came to tears. He didn't want his eighteen year old beauty on her knees crying. But she loves! She loves me! "Kagome, you promised....you...." InuYasha couldn't believe the emotionally cracked sentence that came out his mouth.

"I know! I know! I couldn't help it, but I love you!" Kagome said letting her tears flood her eyes. She sniffed and wiped away her pain. "And I'll show you that." Kagome then took the belt out of his khaki pants and began to unbutton.

"Kagome, what the hell are you doing?"

"I'm showing how much I love you, InuYasha." She then slid his pants and boxers down to his knees. Kagome began stroking his now hard dick.

InuYasha couldn't believe what she was doing. He knew it was wrong, but he couldn't bring himself to stop her. Damn, he wanted this to happen.

InuYasha grabbed her shoulders and looked deep into her eyes. "Listen, Kagome. I've been cheated on before and I felt like shit for a five years. I don't want my son to go through that. Please, try and reconciliate with him."

"InuYasha, you're asking the worst of me. Being with Hojo made me sick to the stomach and I...I just can't. You gotten over Kikyo so Hojo can get over me."

"Kikyo cheated with some college kid, not my father. He's not going to get over it that quickly. Kagome, I was scared to love again and I'm thankful that because of you I able to, but I can't love you."

Tears started to fall down from Kagome's eyes. "I hate you." she whispered.

"What did you say?" InuYasha said painfully knowing exactly what she said. "I said, I hate you!! I hate you! I hate you!" Kagome said shoving InuYasha against his desk and ran out of the class.


InuYasha wanted to follow her, but it was best that she did hate him. It's okay that she hates me. As he thought this his stomach twisted into knots. He hated to admit that what she said made him sick inside. He didn't want to admit the thruth that he loved this woman to death and probably couldn't live with the fact of Kagome hating him.



Sango saw Kagome running out of the building crying and she immediately knew what went down. Kagome jumped into the car and started went into a crying fit. Sango rubbed her back, trying to soothe her. "It's alright, Kagome. It's alright."


"He doesn't love me." Kagome cried.




Kagome looked up at the ceiling of her room as she laid on her bed. "InuYasha, doesn't love me." Kagome whispered to herself trying to see the good in it, but there wasn't. She then rolled to her side and began to cry again before she heard a knock at the door. "It's too early for mother to be home." Kagome then walked down her stairs until she reached the front door. She opened only to be face to face with the one man that was in the back of her mind.

"Kagome, we really need to talk."
