chapter 14 is here so let's get this thing started.

Chappy 14

Sei yawned loudly in the faint setting lights of the sun that signalled the beginnning of the night. He stretched a bit and looked out the window and saw all the people heading home for the evening and cursed himself for taking this internship at a local paper. He was really only in college to get the family off his back but at least he had a career waiting for him in case his chosen path didn't turn produce the desired results. Glancing at his watch he cursed the editor for making him write such an "important" story for the political section. Apparently some ambassador was under investigation for some bribe scandal and for some reason a third month intern was better equipped for the task instead of a senior writer. Rubbing his eyes he saw that he was on the last paragraph that need some revisions and hastened through them.

When he saved and printed the file Sei hurriedly placed it on his editors desk and headed back to his little hole of a cubicle, shut of the computer and grabbed his bag and coat before turning around to find one of his fellow interns smiling at him. The intern was Mia, who Sei now considered somewhat of a friend since she never gave anybody problems and was always nice to you even if you made a huge mistake on something. Taking a breath out of surprise Sei said, "Don't do that again, Mia." The girl snorted a laugh and said, "Sorry Sei, I just thought I was the only one here right now." Feeling a bit nervous Sei said, "Oh well, I had to do something for the editor even though me getting the job was major bull shit." Mia raised her eyebrows and nodded saying, "I guess he figures by giving you important work you'll give him some family dirt." Sei snorted and said, "No such luck since we really don't have any so he can kiss my ass."

Mia let out a small laugh and took a step closer and said, "Yeah he is a bit pushy. Hell the guys been hitting on me a bit." Sei noticed an odd look in his friends eyes and said, "Really, well maybe you should report him. Has he done anything in appropriate." Mia stepped in a bit more and shook her head saying, "No he just asked me to dinner. He was very polite about it and it's not like he's ancient. He's only seven years older than me but I like men my age." Sei gulped loudly as Mia pressed herself against him and started to try and get into his shirt while kissing his neck. He lifted his hands and pushed her gently away and said, "Listen Mia, I like you as a friend and that's it all right?" Grinning Mia said, "Oh come on. Don't tell me you have a girlfriend?" Chuckling nervously Sei said, "Well did you see that mark on my neck during your inspection?" Nodding Mia said, "I thought it was just a scratch or something. What is it one of those weird markings that says you're with someone?" Shrugging and making that weird, "yeah it does," face Sei said, "Yeah I am with somebody."

But instead of just backing off Mia came in closer and said, "Well if she's kinky enough to do that, then maybe she'll like to have some experimenting happen later on, hmmm?" Sei backed away from his friend and said, "Mia the person I'm with isn't a woman." That stopped the girl right in her tracks. Looking up Mia scoffed and said, "Is that supposed to be some sort of sick joke?" Shaking his head Sei pulled out his wallet and showed a picture that was taken by Kagome of him and Sesshomau lying curled up in the bed the morning after they started courting. Snatching the wallet Mia stared at the picture and said, "Oh dear god. I am so sorry, I mean I didn't....Christ I'm an idiot." Taking his wallet back Sei stuck it in his pocket and said, "You aren't an idiot. You didn't know and frankly hardly anybody else knows, so I need you to keep this quiet all right." Nodding Mia said with a slight choking noise, "Yeah, you have my word. I guess this is that dirt the boss wants huh?" Nodding Sei said, "Yes it is a nice piece of journalism. But that's why I don't let it out to keep my dad and myself out of the spotlight."

Mia chuckled and said, "Well at least let me get you a drink or something as an apology." Shaking his head Sei said, "No, it's cool just keep it quiet and we're even, deal?" He stuck out his hand and was glad to feel Mias firm grip in his and shook it twice before saying, "See you Monday?" Nodding Mia said, "Yeah, I'll see you then and hopefully your article gets good reviews." Sei snorted and said, "Yeah right." before heading out the building and hopping into his car.

The newspaper wasn't that far from his office but tonight it seemed to take forever and with what had happened Seis hand never left his scar and he cursed himself for not getting out of there sooner. He also was beating himself up over the fact that he had divulged his secret to a person who really wanted to be a reporter and she could blackmail him if she wanted to. But he figured if she did it wouldn't really matter since he never really did anything that would attract unwanted attention. He didn't go to clubs, no drugs, and didn't go to anyplaces that were known for letting people have sex so he deduced that he was safe from any scandal, in fact he was just afraid of his father and knew that he had to break the news to the old man soon.

Pulling into his space Sei got out of the car and hurried up the steps and once inside he ran to the bathroom and got out of his clothes and began washing himself furiously. He just felt dirty for allowing that to happen and although it was as innocent as possible he still felt like he'd betrayed Sesshomarus trust by allowing her to kiss his neck and come onto him. Blasting the water Seiya screamed at the temperature of the scalding liquid, yet stayed under for as long as he could stand it before shutting it off and banging his head against the shower wall. When he was done beating himself up he stood there breathing heavily and let the water fall his body. Content with his shower he dried himself off and shivered as he walked to his room and got out a fresh set of clothing. He decided that he may as well dress in his modern clothes since he had a plan to try out this evening and if it didn't work, he at least had some extra clothes stashed at Kagomes house for emergencies.

Once dressed he checked the phone and was glad to see there was nothing on the machine nor Caller ID and headed to the subway. Checking that his car was locked he headed into the subway and was glad that the train was still on the platform and took a seat near a door and was glad that the train reached the stop in record time. He hadn't really planned on stopping for anything but he decided to be a little bit romantic and grabbed a rose from a street vendor and headed out into the evening sunlight. The April sunlight eased his heart and felt his spirits lift at the maroon sky and he breathed a deep sigh of relief as he headed up the steps to the Sunset Shrine and knocked on the door of Higurashi residence.

Glad to hear someones footsteps, Sei hoped it was Kagome wasn't disappointed when Asami opened the door. Smiling she asked, "Going through the well this evening Sei?" Sei grinned embarassed and said, "Uh yeah I am. Why did you think that?" Asami smirked and said, "Because Kagome let slip something at dinner a few nights ago about a silver haired demon." Falling face down on the floor Sei said, "Why does she have to blab everything?" Asami chuckled and pulled the poor guy up and said, "Don't worry about it Seiya. I don't mind you falling for him, in fact I'm happy that you've found somebody." Sei felt a small blush appear on his face and said, "You're opinion is one of the few I trust." Asami kissed his forhead and said, "You're my second son and I trust your judgement. So if you ever figure out how to bring him through stop by so I can meet this Sesshomaru." Seiya hugged his "mother" and said, "Thanks Asami, but just for the heck of it where is Kagome?"

Asami hugged him back and said, "She's doing her internship at the hospital this evening and won't be able to go through the well for awhile, but Inuyasha is hanging around and leaving her small gifts and stuff." Sei scoffed and said, "At least he's handling it okay." Asami chuckled nervously and said, "He's getting a bit antsy about her working like that all night so he's also taken to skulking around the hospital to watch her." Sei sweatdropped and asked, "He been caught yet?" Thinking for a moment Asami said, "Not as far as I know. But he never really does anything to attract attention just watches through some windows for a couple hours then comes back here." Nodding Sei said, "Good, well say hi to Souta for me and Jii-san as well." Asami nodded and the two said good bye before she went back in and headed into the kitchen while, Sei hopped through the well as he had become accustomed to over the past few months.

On the other side of the well Sesshomaru was waiting patiently as he watched the sun set behind the hills of the village. He was growing a bit tired of these weekly meetings, he wished that he didn't have to do this but he knew he had no choice since he couldn't pass through the well. But what could he do but spend as much time as possible with the boy until they fully mated, but even then he couldn't keep Seiya in the past. He had a family on the other side and had a young brother or sister on the way and needed to be there for them. Sesshomaru let out a deep breath and was about to turn around when a pair of arms were thrown around his neck and had a red flower shoved under his nose. Taking the flower he turned and asked, "What is the meaning of this?" Chuckling Sei leaned in and kissed Sesshomarus neck before saying, "It's just a gesture of love is all. Do I need a reason to do anything like that?"

Letting out a small grunt Sesshomaru kissed Seiyas lips before saying, "No you don't, koi. I've just never had this happen so I was curious." Sei smiled and kissed the demon again and turned to press Sesshomaru against the well. A bit caught off guard at his chosens forceful advances Sesshomaru didn't complain when Sei snaked his tongue into his mouth and moaned as he pulled Seiya to the ground with him. Following Sesshomarus lead Sei threw the flower away and broke the kiss and whispered heavily into his kois ear, "Caught you by surprise didn't I?" Sesshomaru kissed Seis lips again and said, "A little, but why are you so forceful this evening?" Sei put his arms around Sesshomarus neck and said, "No reason. I just missed you this week." Sesshomaru leaned his head in and nibbled on the scar he had placed on the boys neck and relished in feeling his koi shiver before saying, "You smell a little like lavender koi."

Sei groaned and placed his head against the well side and said, "I thought I got rid of that smell." Lifting Seis head back Sesshomaru asked, "What happened?" Feeling some tears in his eyes Sei said, "I let someone kiss me at my job today." Growling Sesshomaru asked, "Who was it?" Letting a tear fall down his cheek Sei said, "A girl she sorta forced herself on me and I could have stopped it but I just froze but I stopped her before anything serious happened." Still glaring Sesshomaru breathed loudly and placed a hand on Seis lips and said, "You let her kiss these lips?" Shaking his head Sei moved Sesshomarus neck to his mark and said, "She kissed me here and I don't know but it just felt like part of me was dying. I mean if I were in any other sort of relationship I'd probably feel bad about it but with this it felt like complete betrayal."

Hearing the boys voice break Sesshomaru took his face in his hands and kissed away the stray tears and said, "It's all right koi." Blinking his eyes Sei asked, "You aren't angry?" Kissing his kois mouth Sesshomaru said, "You were not responsible for it so don't worry. And I'm glad I know the reason behind that pain I felt in my heart earlier as well." Chuckling Sei said, "What do you mean pain in your heart?" Keeping his cool gaze Sesshomaru said, "A couple hours ago my heart felt like it was being cut in my chest, and I guessed that it could only have been from your pain." Nuzzling Sesshomarus neck Sei said, "Well I'm glad you're not mad at me." Chuckling Sesshomaru put his arms around the human and said, "I'm not angry with you but I wish to deal with this girl." Snorting Sei said, "You may get your chance soon koishii."
Pushing Sei back Sesshomaru asked, "What are you getting at, Seiya?" Grinning Sei said, "Inuyasha came up with the idea that since he, Kagome and the others are able to travel through the well the same may apply to us and the people in our lives." Running his hand through Seis blonde hair and said, "My baka of a brother actually thought of something intelligent?" Sei laughed and said, "I guess he has the ability to come up with some good ideas every now and then." Sesshomaru thought about what his koi had said for a moment and said, "I will make the attempt before you just in case." Snorting Sei said, "I figured you say as much. Well what are we waiting for?"
Standing up Sesshomaru climbed on the edge of the well and dropped in. Rushing forward Sei was sure that it would remain dark but as soon as he looked into the well a flash of blue took the demon away from him. Smiling to himself Seiya threw himself into the well and after a quick free fall through the blue Sei landed on the ground to find Sesshomaru waiting on the other side waiting. Grabbing the demon Sei embraced him and said, "I can't belive Inuyasha was right." Sesshomaru let out his typical grunt and said, "Don't expect me to thank him for this." Laughing Sei kissed the demons cheek and said, "I never planned on it." Stepping away from the demon Sei said, "Kagomes house is just through the well so you can change into some clothes I have up there and we can go to my house." As he started to climb Sei felt a rush of air and glared up at Sesshomaru who was now standing on the edge of the well and staring down at him.

Grumbling to himself Seiya continued his climb and once he'd climbed out he smacked Sesshomaru and said, "Why didn't you bring me up?" Staring at the human Sesshomaru said, "Because you would have hit your head on the side of the well." Looking at the well Sei realized just how small of a fit it would have been and said, "I see your point." Tilting his head in the direction of the house Sei said, "This is where Kagomes family lives. I wasn't planning on this tonight but we might as well." Following close behind the human Sesshomaru noticed the massive change in the air and scrunched his nose at the stench and noise around him. When he exited the building he saw that there was no forest around him and grew angry at what humans had done to the land.

Feeling Sesshomarus anger Sei said, "There's no point getting angry because we're going to have to live through it. But this is just one city there are alot of areas in the country that aren't like this so don't worry because we can go there anytime we want." Grabbing Seis hand Sesshomaru said, "I prefer my time but your point is well taken. The land will change and there's nothing to be done about it." Squeezing Sesshomarus hand in a reassuring manner Sei knocked on the door and heard Souta yell, "Hold on a second!" Smirking at Sesshomaru, Sei turned his head around to find a gaping Souta looking at them. Knocking the kids head Sei said, "Don't you know it's rude to stare?" Souta looked between the two and said, "That wasn't on this evenings event list." Laughing Sei was about to speak when Asami said, "Oh my lord! Seiya is this him?" Scratching his head Sei said, "Yeah this is Inuyashas brother Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru this is Kagomes brother Souta and her mother Asami." Removing his hand from Seis grasp Sesshomaru bowed and said, "It's an honor to meet you." The two humans bowed in response and after they walked in and removed their shoes Souta asked, "Why are you here?" Glaring at the boy Sesshomaru said, "That's between me and Sei so it's no business of yours." Sei sweatdropped, while Asami giggled and Souta glared at the demon and said, "Jerk." before walking back into the living room and played his game.

Looking to Asami, Sei said, "Sorry to stop by again so quickly but, I was wondering if we could keep his clothes here for the weekend?" Nodding Asami said, "Of course, I'll take him to where they are." Sei leaned in and said, "She'll take you upstairs and give you a set of my clotes and keep your armor and everything safe,okay?" Looking at Seiya, Sesshomaru said, "Fine but if anything happens..." Chuckling Seiya said, "Don't worry her fathers a priest and will set up some barrier sutras for your armor." Not wanting to argue in the womans presence Sesshomaru followed Asami upstairs while Sei sat at the played some fighting game with Souta
Upstairs Sesshomaru stripped from his clothes and changed into some of Seiyas while Asami stood outside the door and said, "I'm glad that Seiya has somebody to love. I've been like a second mother to him his whole life so I'm very defensive of him." Snorting Sesshomaru said, "You need not worry Asami-san, I plan to stay by his side forever and never stray." He heard her cough lightly before saying, "Good, because I wouldn't want to have Kagome purify you." Not sure of whether or not she was serious Sesshomaru finished putting on the clothes and said, "Do not worry, I'm sure that there will be no need for your daughter to have to fight me." Asami let out a small chuckle as the demon came out dressed in a tee shirt and shorts and said, "Well I'm sure that is a form of clothing you've never worn." If ever there was a time to blush Sesshomaru found it.

Meanwhile downstairs Souta asked, "What do you see in that guy?" Letting out a triumphant yell as his guy body slammed Soutas, Sei said, "He's really a sweet guy Souta. He's just not very sociable." Grunting as his guy planted Seis characters head into the mat Souta said, "Whatever, he still didn't need to snap at me like that." But before he could say anything Asami said, "Sei, he's ready to leave now." Giving Souta a quick noogie Sei said, "I'll be back on Monday and then we can beat each other into a bloody pulp." Muttering a goodbye Seiya hugged Asami and asked, "Did he find the shoes and everything?" Asami nodded and said, "Yes, he found everything but you might want to hurry since he seems a bit anxious to leave." Sei gave her another hug before slipping his shoes on and ran outside.

Looking around Sei found Sesshomaru waiting at the entrance to the shrine standing with his back against the wall, staring out at the cars driving by. Walking up Sei noticed that Sesshomaru was dressed in a pair of his shorts and teeshirt and blushed at seeing Sesshomaru dressed like that. Walking forward he kissed Sesshomarus lips and said, "You look extremly alluring in those clothes." Kissing Seis lips, Sesshomaru said, "I guess I do since some girls walked by and started pointing at me and making some remarks about these clothes." Seiya pulled him in and said, "You're mine so they can just go ahead and talk about you since that's all they'll be able to do." Sesshomaru grunted and said, "How do we get to you home?"

Taking his hand Sei pointed at the subway and said, "Those stairs lead to a train that will take us to my apartment." Sesshomarus gazed at him questioningly and asked, "What exactly is a train?" Sei smirked and said, "Don't worry you'll see in a minute, koi." and took him up to the cross walk and explained how it all worked. As Sei spoke Sesshomaru listened intently at Sei telling him the purpose of all the devices around him and asked if there was a place where he could read about all of these things. Sei smirked and said, "Don't worry I have some books on cars and electronics at my place and you can read all about them." In the station Sesshomaru asked him about the money he had, and what all the writing on the walls meant and why it all changed every few seconds. Sei felt like he was with a little kid and said, "It's a schedule and it tells you about when the trains arrive. And I use this to pay for the ticket that will take us through this gate to the train."

When they reached their platform Sesshomaru was about to ask Sei what a train was when all of a sudden the subway came to a screeching halt infront of them to let people off. Forcing their way through the crowd Sei grabbed his typical seat next to the door and had Sesshomaru sit next to him despite the odd looks they were getting from Sesshomarus hair and markings. Sesshomaru felt the people gazing at him and was about to frighten them when he felt a pulse from Sei say, "Don't do it. They're just curious." Settling back Sesshomaru resisted the temptation to grab Seis hand out of fear that more attention would be drawn to him and was glad to be away from all those humans as he and Sei left the station and headed to his apartment.

When they got there Sesshomaru questioned the structural integrity of the building and was about to ask Sei why he lived there when a girl said, "Excuse me, Sei!" Turning around the two men saw Mia approaching with an envelope in her hand and when she caught sight of Sesshomaru she blushed and said, "Sorry for interuppting but I thought you might like these as compensation for earlier Sei." Taking the envelope Seis eyes bulged as he asked, "How'd you...." Mia smiled and said, "Mom's got season theater tickets and she gave me these since she couldn't make it so I thought you may like them instead, because I've seen your CD collection." Laughing out of embarassment Sei said, "Thanks, but ummmm this is Sesshomaru the guy I told you about." Turning, Mia blushed and said with a deep bow, "Pleasure to meet you."

Sesshomaru inclined his head and said, "The same to you. Are you the one who kissed him?" Sei was about to say something when Mia said, "Yes, I'm sorry for doing it, I didn't know that he was with someone." Sesshomaru snorted at the girls apology and said, "Apology accepted, but make sure that you stay quiet about this or you'll have me to deal with." The girl remained in her position and said, "I give you my word that I'll keep your secret." And without another word she ran off in the direction of the station.

The two remained silent as they entered the apartment and when Sei turned on the lights he gave Sesshomaru the grand tour. "Okay this room right here is the living room, this is the tv, stereo, game system and movies and stuff." Grabbing the demons hand he said, "This is the kitchen. This big white thing is the fridge and freezer where perishable food is kept and in the cupboards and drawers are plates, glasses, and utensils to eat with." Glancing at the sink Sesshomaru asked, "What is that for?" Chuckling Sei grabbed the knobs and said, "This gives you water. Right is cold, left is hot." He turned each one in succesion before leading him into the bedroom and said, "And this is where I sleep." Sesshomaru came up behind him and said, "I expect we'll be spending alot of time in here?" Feeling Sesshomarus arms around his waist Sei said, "Not tonight, koi. Tomorrow night but not tonight, I just want to hold you and besides we haven't finished the courting." Grunting Sesshomaru kissed Seis scar and said, "Okay now what's this other room?"

In the bathroom Sei showed him how to use the toilet and shower before taking him to the living room and said, "Care to watch a movie?" Shrugging Sesshomaru walked to the holder and took out a black case and read aloud, "The Punisher? This sounds like a an excellent choice. Although I do not know what a movie is." Chuckling Sei said, "You sit down and I'll set it up." Sesshomaru looked around and saw that the couch was open and laid with his back against the armrest. When the movie was ready Seiya laid down next to him and began to watch the movie, but about halfway through it Sei heard Sesshomarus breathing deepen and he smiled as he saw the demons eyes resting peacefully. He got up and pulled a blanket over the two of them and held the demon so hard that he knew that not even god could take his koi away.
