Chapter 20
"What the hell are you doing here, Mizutani?" Stopping his typing, Seiya looked up from his computer to find his editor staring at him, and pulling off his glasses said, "I'm trying to meet a deadline." Snorting at the remark, Seis boss looked at him and said, "I thought you were told to go on vacation so your leg could heal?" Glancing at his right leg Sei said, "I can't walk but ten feet without any sort of support, so taking time off to let it heal is pointless." Glancing at the cane the guy said, "Fine, but if you feel like leaving go ahead. I'm sure an accident like that isn't one you'll forget in a short amount of time." Muttering something under his breath, Sei went back to his work while his boss left. It'd been about a month since he'd been abducted and he was getting somewhat back to normal, he still had to occasional nightmare which made him wake up in a cold sweat, and he was starting to miss the warm body next to him.
Sesshomaru had kept his word to give him time to recover, but that didn't stop Inuyasha from bringing him some sort of word or gesture from the demon. Sei adored the fact that Sesshomaru was keeping his distance while trying to be comforting, but Sei was still self concious about being around the demon. Each night he sat staring at the wall while he let his mind wander at the memories of how he ended up in the hands of that bastard, Polong. But he figured that no matter how long he lived and tried to forget, he would always have reminders of those hellish hours under that demons touch. As he stared at the computer screen his hand subconciously began to trace the scars running along his left arm, as he recalled the battle that nearly cost him and two of his friends their lives. Finally after an hour of trying to figure out the rest of his article, Sei closed his laptop and shoved it into his bag before grabbing his cane and heading towards the door.
With his now familiar limp carrying him to the door, Sei felt a huge outburst of relief at almost making it to the door without being stopped, but as luck would have it somebody had spotted him. As he swiped his card through the reader, Sei reached out for the handle when he heard a friendly voice say, "Need some help?" Looking over his shoulder, Sei smirked and said, "I'm fine, Mia. All I have is a bum leg, nothing more, nothing less." Smiling the girl opened the door and said, "I bet you hate everyone giving you all this sympathy, huh?" Looking at his friend, Sei scratched his head and said, "Trust me, it would be even worse if you could see the rest of the damage." Tilting her head in a concerned manner, Mia asked, "You know who didn't have anything to do with this, did he?" Shaking his head, Sei said, "He was nowhere around at the time the accident occured so you can't go blaming him." Raising her eyebrows in a disbelieving manner the girl said, "Well, how are things on that front anyways?" Groaning Sei said in a low voice, "We're fine, but we are taking a small break at my request." Furrowing her brow Mia asked, "Why are you doing that?"
Smacking her head, the twenty-two year old said, "Stop by my house later and I'll show you okay?" Blushing the girl said, "What time shall I arrive?" Rolling his eyes at her weird behaviour Sei said, "Say about quarter to eight?" Nodding, Mia let him through and as he headed to the elevator said, "See you later honey bunny." Nearly gagging at her overly saturated sweetness, Sei hit the button for the elevator and after climbing in he hit the button for the garage, and just as it stopped on his floor his cell went off. Removing it from his pocket and checking the number, Sei hit the talk button and asked, "What's up pops?" Chuckling at his sons lack of formality, Robert Mizutani asked, "Well I'm taking off a bit early and was wondering if you'd like to come to the house for a late lunch?" Checking his watch Sei saw that it was only three and in a tired voice said, "Okay dad, but let's just say I look a bit different."
Almost choking on his water the older Mizutani asked, "What the hell did you do to yourself?" Laughing inwardly at his fathers worry Sei said, "I'm fine dad. I just got hurt a while ago and need a cane to walk because of the way my hip healed after I got hurt." Hearing a glass break, Sei realized this was a bad thing to say as his father asked, "Was it a car accident or something?" Making a calming sound, Sei said, "No, I just pulled something playing basketball with some friends and popped my hip out of alignment but I'm fine and I just need some extra support to walk." Shifting the phone the older Mizutani said, "Okay, okay. I'm just worried but I'll trust your judgement on your health." Setting his bag in the passenger seat and strapping himself in, Sei said, "Okay dad, I'll see you at the house soon." Nodded on the other end Robert said, "All right, son. See you in a few."
Exiting the parking structure, Sei got onto the highway that headed towards his fathers house, but he met with a bit of a problem. Apparently somebody thought it was funny to cut across two lanes of traffic and after sitting for over an hour, Sei was back on track and risking a hefty ticket fine, made it to his fathers house in little over half an hour when it would have taken him nearly an hour from the way traffic was going. Getting out of his car, he was yet again attacked by his faithful friend,Tater. But the dog seemed disappointed that his master was alone, and with a loud bark seemed to ask, "Where's he at?" Scratching the dogs ears, Seiya said, "He's at his home but he'll be around soon enough." Giving off a sort of barkin-slash-grunt the dog ran back up the small stone staircase leading to the front door, plowed through his dog door and started barking madly.
Shaking his head at his dogs antics, Sei unlocked the door, entered and asked, "Anybody alive in this place?" Hearing footsteps he saw his cousin Sara heading down the steps with huge smile planted on her face. Waving up at her he asked, "What the hell are you doing here?" Hopping down the last couple steps, the girl threw her arms around the guys neck and said, "I just thought I'd pop in for a quick visit to see my favorite uncle and cousin." Kissing her cheek he said, "You're looking terrific, but what about your work?" Smacking his arm the woman said, "I think the practice can handle a few days without me." Rubbing the spot on his left shoulder where she'd hit, Seiya said, "Well, I can see being a pediatrician hasn't stopped your work out schedule." Pumping her arms mockingly the twenty-four year old said, "Hey, just 'cuz I'm a genius doesn't mean I have to be a wuss." Sei rolled his eyes and was about to take a step forward when his leg buckled slightly. Catching her cousin before he fell Sara asked, "So, I guess what your dad said was true." Nodding Sei said, "I'm fine so don't worry about me."
Clicking her tongue the girl said, "If you need help, I have a friend who can check it for you." Shaking his head after regaining his balance, Sei headed started towards the kitchen and said, "It's fine, Sara. Besides I'm going to have more than enough help with this leg soon enough." Letting out a small giggle, the female Mizutani said, "That's right, Michelle told me about that Sesshomaru guy. I hear he's quite the looker and that you two forgot to change the sheets after you two spent the night awhile ago." Blushing as he entered the kitchen, Sei spotted his step-mother and asked, "Do you have a problem with keeping things to yourself?" Looking up from her plate of carrot sticks, the very pregnant woman asked, "What did I say?" Pointing his cane at his cousin, Sei said in a flustered voice, "Apparently you found something in my bed a few weeks ago." Giggling the woman said, "Oh it's not like she didn't know about you anyways. But honestly dear when are you going to tell your father?" Sitting at the counter Seiya said, "Very soon, I feel that it's almost time and I'm sure Sesshomaru does as well."
Beaming excitedly the woman said, "Thank god about that. I feel bad about keeping this from him but it's your life and only you can decide." Taking one of the sticks, Sei said, "Wasn't this little bastard supposed to be out by now?" Smacking the boy on the head with a mallet, Michelle said, "Don't mention your brother to me right now. I'm already scheduled for a C-section for the end of the week if nothing happens, which is another reason for Sakura to be here." Looking at his cousin, then at his step-mother, Sei said in a sarcastic voice, "Good thing I'm not a breeder." Snorting, Sara was about to make a comment when, Robert came in with a plate of sandwhiches and other sides before saying, "Since you all seem to be congregating in here we may as well feast on the counter."
Over an hour later, Sei was sitting out on the hood of his car with Tater in his lap, while he waited for his father to come out and say goodbye. Lunch had been enjoyable, his father asked nothing of his leg and made no signs of being worried about his baby brother. And Michelle was actually a bit more stable than the last time he'd seen her, save for the occasional angry mutter at the baby inside of her stomach to hurr the hell up and get out of her. Sara had talked a mile a minute about how her practice was taking off and that she might be able to add more space to the building she and her medical partner were currently using. Finally after twenty minutes, Mr. Mizutani came out with an embarassed look and said, "She just fell asleep, the poor woman. I honestly think this ones going to be more stubborn than you were." Glaring at his father Sei said, "Tater, get him." The dog jumped off the hood and began to jump up the elder Mizutanis leg and barked playfully.
Flicking the dogs nose and saying, "Get in the house." The older Mizutani looked at his son and said, "You were stubborn after birth, but this one is stubborn before which is making me worry about disciplining him." Rubbing his temples at the old mans remarks, Sei looked up and asked, "Why does, Sara allow Michelle to call her by her given name?" Being broken from his thoughts about his new child being late, Robert looked at his son and said, "How the hell should I know? Maybe it has something to do with your cousin recommending her doctors. But, hows Kagome and Inuyasha?" Stretching his leg out by getting off the warm metal, Sei said, "They're doing all right I guess. I haven't really talked to them in awhile." Giving his son a curious look, the elder man said, "Really? That's a bit unusual for the two of you isn't it?" Letting out a small cough the younger of the two said, "Not really, since she's got her nursing license to get through along with some finals and I'm stuck working for the paper all the time, while trying to get that stupid thesis done." Snickering at his sons complaints about school, Robert said, "Well tell them I said hi, and bring Inuyashas brother around again. I want to challenge him to a game of pool."
Giving his dad a hug, Sei said, "I'll run that by him. But it's a bit hard to get in touch with him sometimes, but I'll leave a message with one of his fathers people." Clapping hisi son on the back, Robert gave the young man a quick squeeze on the shoulder and said, "It was good to see you again, but you better hurry or else your friend will get mad if you don't show up soon." Checking his watch he saw that it was already four-thirty and once he learned what time it was he hurried to the drivers side, climbed in, and got onto the highway. And just as he suspected, he hit rush hour traffic 15 minutes away from the apartment. Cursing to himself, Sei stared off into space as he waited for the cars infront of him to move. Unfortunately it took him nearly an hour to travel fifteen miles and once he parked his car it was already a quarter after six and not only was he mad about getting stuck in traffic, but he was now sweaty from his air conditioner breaking half an hour after sitting in traffic.
Unlocking his door he headed straight for the shower and throwing all his clothes to the side he climbed into the cool water. Normally he would have liked it warm or hot, but after sitting in traffic with no air, and ninety degree weather with high humidity he wanted cold water. Well, he thought he wanted cold water to clean himself with, but after a few minutes some of his scars started hurting from the icy water and he had to turn it up and sighed in relief as the muscles started to relax. Grabbing the soap and spreading on his wash cloth, Sei began to massage his scarred body and as he washed each area a flash of the battle came to his mind as he touched each and every scar. First his left arm, brought the memories of when the battle first started, then to his chest where other demons had slashed at him while he stood next to Shippou and chased after Rin. Then there were the scars on his right upper thigh, which he didn't dare touch because of what they brought back to his mind.
When he finished cleaning himself, Sei leaned his head against the shower wall and silently cried at those events, events he knew he would never get over or forget. He felt disgusting and he couldn't even stand the sight of Sesshomaru looking at him. It was killing him to stay away from the demon, he knew he needed Sesshomaru to hold him and comfort him, but how could that be allowed to happen when Seiya felt like he shouldn't even be in the demons presence. But, he knew he couldn't stay away, because the only one who could make it better was Sesshomaru. Those strong arms holding him, the soft voice whispering in his ear that he would be all right and that he was loved, lips kissing him. Wiping his eyes Seiya knew what he needed to do, for both his sake and Sesshomarus, it was something that he'd decided on before the attack. In fact he'd decided it just after he'd finished getting dressed the day that he was taken, but the only problem was the what he'd decided was done by that bastard Polong.
Cleaning his hair, and shutting off the shower, Sei stood there naked and dripping wet as he said, "Sessh, I'm ready to finish this." But it was pointless to say such a thing since the demon was five hundred years in the past while he was standing in a shower naked in the year 2005. Stepping out he grabbed a towel and dried himself before walking into his room to find that the clock read seven-fifteen. Letting out a frustrated growl at what he'd just done to his heat bill, Sei got into his pajamas and headed out into the living room where he pressed play on his cd player and headed into the kitchen. Fixing himself a glass of Bacardi and Coke, which was ninety percent Coke and ten percent Bacardi he headed back into the living room to listen to the heavy sounds of Sabbath. After only three songs and the whole of his drink, Sei heard a light knock on his door just as the clock hit seven-forty-five.
Grabbing his cane and heading to the door, Sei checked his peep-hole before opening and saying, "I guess you can now see why me and my boyfriend are taking a break, huh?" He chuckled to himself as the girl took in the sight of his bare chest and asked, "What the hell happened to you? I thought your leg had just turned to shit." Letting her in Sei said, "Well that's what I wanted people to think, but let's just say my partner had some very dangerous people following him and they paid the price for messing with me." Plopping onto the end of the couch, Mia watched as Sei put on his shirt and asked, "Is he Yakuza?" Letting out a barking like laugh, Sei said, "No, he's not Yakuza. It's just that his old man got some enemies in the business he was in and that's all I know." Watching as her friend took a seat in his arm chair Mia asked, "So what'd he do to the guys?" Shrugging, Seiya said in a well practiced voice, "It happened out side this country so it's not like I'm going to know, so there's no point in asking."
Nodding, Mia said, "Well that's fine and I won't look into it because I don't wanna get killed." Chuckling Seiya said, "Don't worry about it. Nothing bad will happen to you because he doesn't mess with my friends." Letting out a sigh of relief, Mia said, "Well thank god you have him on a leash because he does look rather threatening." Placing his hands and chin on the top of his cane, Sei said, "He's a big softy when you actually spend time with him. Only problem about that is he only acts like that with me and this little girl he's the guardian of." Getting off of her seat, Mia said, "Well now that I know what happened, I think I should be going now. You know, just incase somebody decides to drop by." Smirking, Sei said, "Don't worry about it but you know what he said." Nodding at her friend, Mia said, "Don't worry I keep my mouth shut so don't worry. Hell, I've been quiet about your relationship so I think I can keep quiet about this."
When she was gone, Seiya leaned back in his chair and hit play on the stereo and just as it was getting to a good song another knock came from the door. Letting out a frustrated growl, Sei paused the CDs yet again and headed to the door and asked, "Who is it?" Hearing the humans anger a voice said, "Open the damn door, Seiya it's me." Unlocking the door, Seiya asked, "What are you doing over here?" Brushing his silver hair out of his face, Inuyasha said, "You think you would be a bit nicer to me after what happened, but that's what you get when helping friends." Glaring at the hanyou, Sei said in a softer voice, "I'm sorry all right. I'm just a little tired and annoyed lately. I haven't been getting a whole lot of sleep." Hearing the fatigue in his friends voice, Inuyasha said, "I can't say I know but after some of the things I've been through I know what it's like not being able to sleep."
Snorting at his friends comment, Sei said, "Out of the whole group I think you're the only one who ever really has that problem." Smirking, the hanyou said, "Sango sometimes has problems, but with Kohakus memory starting to come back I think she's coping a bit better." Looking at his friend, Sei asked in a quiet voice, "How's he doing?" Chuckling, Inuyasha said, "Took you long enough to ask. But, you need to get to him soon because he's staying at the village all the time and taking away all my responsibilities as its protector." Smiling at his friends annoyance, Sei asked, "How're Rin and Shippou handling things?" Sighing and taking a deep breath, Inuyasha said, "Rins fine although her right cheek now has three huge scars on it. And Shippous not letting her out of his sight when she goes out with the girls, despite their protests." Seiya began to chuckle when he felt a tear well in his eye, and no matter how he tried to hide it, he was caught and was a bit mad when Inuyasha said in a less than comforting way, "Just hurry it up and see him all right. I'm getting sick of being the messenger boy."
Lifting his head up Sei looked into the hanyous eyes and said in an unusually serious manner, "I have one more message for you to deliver, if you want to?" Tweaking his ears at the tone behind his friends voice, Inuyasha said, "I'll tell him, but this is the last time I do this errand boy crap." Hoping to crack the boys face, Inuyasha was a bit surprised that his face remained set in stone as he said, "Tell, Sesshomaru that I'm ready." At those words, Inuyashas face became like Sesshomarus as he asked, "Are you sure about this?" Nodding, Sei said, "I've been ready for awhile, but after that I just needed time to cope with things, and I thought I could do it alone. Yet, I can't, I need him here Inuyasha. I just need him to help make it better." Inuyasha clasped his friends shoulder and looked it his reddening eyes before saying, "I'll tell him, and I just want you to know that I'm still uncomfortable with this." Snorting, Sei said, "It's because he's your brother right?" Shrugging Inuyasha said, "That, and because I've known you for five years and have seen what's happened to you when people figure out that you like men." Clasping the hanyous shoulders, Sei said in a confident voice, "I'm alot stronger than I used to be so don't worry." And without another word the two separated and went back to their lives, Sei to his couch, while Inuyasha headed back to the well.
Once he had left the apartment, Inuyasha headed back to Kagomes at full speed and without stopping into the house to tell his mate he was back, Inuyasha bounded into the well and once on the other side, jumped out and started sniffing. It took him a few moments but once he got his brothers scent he headed off in search of the youkai. After a few minutes, Inuyasha came to a halt under a tall pine tree, and looking up he saw his brother staring at the shining full moon. Pouncing up to the branch, Inuyasha nudged his brother with his foot and said, "Why the hell aren't you at the village." Keeping his eyes on the bright orb, Sesshomaru said, "I needed to be alone for awhile, so I came here."
Setteling down on the branch, Inuyasha said, "I have a message for ya?" Slightly averting his gaze from its focal point, Sesshomaru asked, "How is he doing?" Tweaking his ears at the question, Inuyasha let out a light huff and said, "He's in pain, alone, and feeling disgusted with himself." Letting out his own sigh, the full blooded demon said, "I want to be there to tell him he has no reason to feel any of those things but I respected his wishes to give him time and that's all I can do, no matter how much I despise it." Letting out a small laugh, Inuyahsa said, "I don't want to tell you this but I promised I would." Removing his eyes from the moon, Sesshomaru asked, "What did he say?:" Glaring at his brother, Inuyasha said, "I swear that if I tell you this and you cause him any more pain, I will remove your heart and make you eat it." Sneering the demon said, "Tell me what he said you worthless fool or I will take your soul from this plain." Smirking at his brothers threat the hanyou said, "Your honor won't allow you to do that. Not with what the two of us know about Kagome. But, his message is this, 'I'm ready,' that's all he had to say."
Keeping his gaze on his brother, Sesshomaru asked, "Are you certain that this is what he wants?" Nodding the hanyou said, "He said he's been sure of it for some time, but after what happened he just had to rethink some things. But, that is what he told me, he's ready to claim you and vice versa." Dropping from the tree, Sesshomaru said, "Thank you." before speeding off towards the village, leaving Inuyasha alone in the tree. However, Sesshomarus journey was cut short, because as he approached the well a small voice asked, "Sesshomaru-sama, are you going to see, Seiya?" Turning at the voice the demon looked to Rin and said, "Yes, but when I come back, we are going to have a talk with you, do you understand?" Rubbing her eyes and yawning the girl said, "Yes, sir. And tell him I miss him." Nodding, Sesshomaru grasped her shoulder before saying, "Head to the house and get to sleep." before being absorbed by the blue and once outside of the well he took to the roofs and headed towards the apartment.

Giving off a sort of barkin-slash-grunt the dog ran back up the small stone staircase leading to the front door, plowed through his dog door and started barking madly.
Shaking his head at his dogs antics, Sei unlocked the door, entered and asked, "Anybody alive in this place?" Hearing footsteps he saw his cousin Sara heading down the steps with huge smile planted on her face. Waving up at her he asked, "What the hell are you doing here?" Hopping down the last couple steps, the girl threw her arms around the guys neck and said, "I just thought I'd pop in for a quick visit to see my favorite uncle and cousin." Kissing her cheek he said, "You're looking terrific, but what about your work?" Smacking his arm the woman said, "I think the practice can handle a few days without me." Rubbing the spot on his left shoulder where she'd hit, Seiya said, "Well, I can see being a pediatrician hasn't stopped your work out schedule." Pumping her arms mockingly the twenty-four year old said, "Hey, just 'cuz I'm a genius doesn't mean I have to be a wuss." Sei rolled his eyes and was about to take a step forward when his leg buckled slightly. Catching her cousin before he fell Sara asked, "So, I guess what your dad said was true." Nodding Sei said, "I'm fine so don't worry about me."
Clicking her tongue the girl said, "If you need help, I have a friend who can check it for you." Shaking his head after regaining his balance, Sei headed started towards the kitchen and said, "It's fine, Sara. Besides I'm going to have more than enough help with this leg soon enough." Letting out a small giggle, the female Mizutani said, "That's right, Michelle told me about that Sesshomaru guy. I hear he's quite the looker and that you two forgot to change the sheets after you two spent the night awhile ago." Blushing as he entered the kitchen, Sei spotted his step-mother and asked, "Do you have a problem with keeping things to yourself?" Looking up from her plate of carrot sticks, the very pregnant woman asked, "What did I say?" Pointing his cane at his cousin, Sei said in a flustered voice, "Apparently you found something in my bed a few weeks ago." Giggling the woman said, "Oh it's not like she didn't know about you anyways. But honestly dear when are you going to tell your father?" Sitting at the counter Seiya said, "Very soon, I feel that it's almost time and I'm sure Sesshomaru does as well."
Beaming excitedly the woman said, "Thank god about that. I feel bad about keeping this from him but it's your life and only you can decide." Taking one of the sticks, Sei said, "Wasn't this little bastard supposed to be out by now?" Smacking the boy on the head with a mallet, Michelle said, "Don't mention your brother to me right now. I'm already scheduled for a C-section for the end of the week if nothing happens, which is another reason for Sakura to be here." Looking at his cousin, then at his step-mother, Sei said in a sarcastic voice, "Good thing I'm not a breeder." Snorting, Sara was about to make a comment when, Robert came in with a plate of sandwhiches and other sides before saying, "Since you all seem to be congregating in here we may as well feast on the counter."
Over an hour later, Sei was sitting out on the hood of his car with Tater in his lap, while he waited for his father to come out and say goodbye. Lunch had been enjoyable, his father asked nothing of his leg and made no signs of being worried about his baby brother. And Michelle was actually a bit more stable than the last time he'd seen her, save for the occasional angry mutter at the baby inside of her stomach to hurr the hell up and get out of her. Sara had talked a mile a minute about how her practice was taking off and that she might be able to add more space to the building she and her medical partner were currently using. Finally after twenty minutes, Mr. Mizutani came out with an embarassed look and said, "She just fell asleep, the poor woman. I honestly think this ones going to be more stubborn than you were." Glaring at his father Sei said, "Tater, get him." The dog jumped off the hood and began to jump up the elder Mizutanis leg and barked playfully.
Flicking the dogs nose and saying, "Get in the house." The older Mizutani looked at his son and said, "You were stubborn after birth, but this one is stubborn before which is making me worry about disciplining him." Rubbing his temples at the old mans remarks, Sei looked up and asked, "Why does, Sara allow Michelle to call her by her given name?" Being broken from his thoughts about his new child being late, Robert looked at his son and said, "How the hell should I know? Maybe it has something to do with your cousin recommending her doctors. But, hows Kagome and Inuyasha?" Stretching his leg out by getting off the warm metal, Sei said, "They're doing all right I guess. I haven't really talked to them in awhile." Giving his son a curious look, the elder man said, "Really? That's a bit unusual for the two of you isn't it?" Letting out a small cough the younger of the two said, "Not really, since she's got her nursing license to get through along with some finals and I'm stuck working for the paper all the time, while trying to get that stupid thesis done." Snickering at his sons complaints about school, Robert said, "Well tell them I said hi, and bring Inuyashas brother around again. I want to challenge him to a game of pool."
Giving his dad a hug, Sei said, "I'll run that by him. But it's a bit hard to get in touch with him sometimes, but I'll leave a message with one of his fathers people." Clapping hisi son on the back, Robert gave the young man a quick squeeze on the shoulder and said, "It was good to see you again, but you better hurry or else your friend will get mad if you don't show up soon." Checking his watch he saw that it was already four-thirty and once he learned what time it was he hurried to the drivers side, climbed in, and got onto the highway. And just as he suspected, he hit rush hour traffic 15 minutes away from the apartment. Cursing to himself, Sei stared off into space as he waited for the cars infront of him to move. Unfortunately it took him nearly an hour to travel fifteen miles and once he parked his car it was already a quarter after six and not only was he mad about getting stuck in traffic, but he was now sweaty from his air conditioner breaking half an hour after sitting in traffic.
Unlocking his door he headed straight for the shower and throwing all his clothes to the side he climbed into the cool water. Normally he would have liked it warm or hot, but after sitting in traffic with no air, and ninety degree weather with high humidity he wanted cold water. Well, he thought he wanted cold water to clean himself with, but after a few minutes some of his scars started hurting from the icy water and he had to turn it up and sighed in relief as the muscles started to relax. Grabbing the soap and spreading on his wash cloth, Sei began to massage his scarred body and as he washed each area a flash of the battle came to his mind as he touched each and every scar. First his left arm, brought the memories of when the battle first started, then to his chest where other demons had slashed at him while he stood next to Shippou and chased after Rin. Then there were the scars on his right upper thigh, which he didn't dare touch because of what they brought back to his mind.
When he finished cleaning himself, Sei leaned his head against the shower wall and silently cried at those events, events he knew he would never get over or forget. He felt disgusting and he couldn't even stand the sight of Sesshomaru looking at him. It was killing him to stay away from the demon, he knew he needed Sesshomaru to hold him and comfort him, but how could that be allowed to happen when Seiya felt like he shouldn't even be in the demons presence. But, he knew he couldn't stay away, because the only one who could make it better was Sesshomaru. Those strong arms holding him, the soft voice whispering in his ear that he would be all right and that he was loved, lips kissing him. Wiping his eyes Seiya knew what he needed to do, for both his sake and Sesshomarus, it was something that he'd decided on before the attack. In fact he'd decided it just after he'd finished getting dressed the day that he was taken, but the only problem was the what he'd decided was done by that bastard Polong.
Cleaning his hair, and shutting off the shower, Sei stood there naked and dripping wet as he said, "Sessh, I'm ready to finish this." But it was pointless to say such a thing since the demon was five hundred years in the past while he was standing in a shower naked in the year 2005. Stepping out he grabbed a towel and dried himself before walking into his room to find that the clock read seven-fifteen. Letting out a frustrated growl at what he'd just done to his heat bill, Sei got into his pajamas and headed out into the living room where he pressed play on his cd player and headed into the kitchen. Fixing himself a glass of Bacardi and Coke, which was ninety percent Coke and ten percent Bacardi he headed back into the living room to listen to the heavy sounds of Sabbath. After only three songs and the whole of his drink, Sei heard a light knock on his door just as the clock hit seven-forty-five.
Grabbing his cane and heading to the door, Sei checked his peep-hole before opening and saying, "I guess you can now see why me and my boyfriend are taking a break, huh?" He chuckled to himself as the girl took in the sight of his bare chest and asked, "What the hell happened to you? I thought your leg had just turned to shit." Letting her in Sei said, "Well that's what I wanted people to think, but let's just say my partner had some very dangerous people following him and they paid the price for messing with me." Plopping onto the end of the couch, Mia watched as Sei put on his shirt and asked, "Is he Yakuza?" Letting out a barking like laugh, Sei said, "No, he's not Yakuza. It's just that his old man got some enemies in the business he was in and that's all I know." Watching as her friend took a seat in his arm chair Mia asked, "So what'd he do to the guys?" Shrugging, Seiya said in a well practiced voice, "It happened out side this country so it's not like I'm going to know, so there's no point in asking."
Nodding, Mia said, "Well that's fine and I won't look into it because I don't wanna get killed." Chuckling Seiya said, "Don't worry about it. Nothing bad will happen to you because he doesn't mess with my friends." Letting out a sigh of relief, Mia said, "Well thank god you have him on a leash because he does look rather threatening." Placing his hands and chin on the top of his cane, Sei said, "He's a big softy when you actually spend time with him. Only problem about that is he only acts like that with me and this little girl he's the guardian of." Getting off of her seat, Mia said, "Well now that I know what happened, I think I should be going now. You know, just incase somebody decides to drop by." Smirking, Sei said, "Don't worry about it but you know what he said." Nodding at her friend, Mia said, "Don't worry I keep my mouth shut so don't worry. Hell, I've been quiet about your relationship so I think I can keep quiet about this."
When she was gone, Seiya leaned back in his chair and hit play on the stereo and just as it was getting to a good song another knock came from the door. Letting out a frustrated growl, Sei paused the CDs yet again and headed to the door and asked, "Who is it?" Hearing the humans anger a voice said, "Open the damn door, Seiya it's me." Unlocking the door, Seiya asked, "What are you doing over here?" Brushing his silver hair out of his face, Inuyasha said, "You think you would be a bit nicer to me after what happened, but that's what you get when helping friends." Glaring at the hanyou, Sei said in a softer voice, "I'm sorry all right. I'm just a little tired and annoyed lately. I haven't been getting a whole lot of sleep." Hearing the fatigue in his friends voice, Inuyasha said, "I can't say I know but after some of the things I've been through I know what it's like not being able to sleep."
Snorting at his friends comment, Sei said, "Out of the whole group I think you're the only one who ever really has that problem." Smirking, the hanyou said, "Sango sometimes has problems, but with Kohakus memory starting to come back I think she's coping a bit better." Looking at his friend, Sei asked in a quiet voice, "How's he doing?" Chuckling, Inuyasha said, "Took you long enough to ask. But, you need to get to him soon because he's staying at the village all the time and taking away all my responsibilities as its protector." Smiling at his friends annoyance, Sei asked, "How're Rin and Shippou handling things?" Sighing and taking a deep breath, Inuyasha said, "Rins fine although her right cheek now has three huge scars on it. And Shippous not letting her out of his sight when she goes out with the girls, despite their protests." Seiya began to chuckle when he felt a tear well in his eye, and no matter how he tried to hide it, he was caught and was a bit mad when Inuyasha said in a less than comforting way, "Just hurry it up and see him all right. I'm getting sick of being the messenger boy."
Lifting his head up Sei looked into the hanyous eyes and said in an unusually serious manner, "I have one more message for you to deliver, if you want to?" Tweaking his ears at the tone behind his friends voice, Inuyasha said, "I'll tell him, but this is the last time I do this errand boy crap." Hoping to crack the boys face, Inuyasha was a bit surprised that his face remained set in stone as he said, "Tell, Sesshomaru that I'm ready." At those words, Inuyashas face became like Sesshomarus as he asked, "Are you sure about this?" Nodding, Sei said, "I've been ready for awhile, but after that I just needed time to cope with things, and I thought I could do it alone. Yet, I can't, I need him here Inuyasha. I just need him to help make it better." Inuyasha clasped his friends shoulder and looked it his reddening eyes before saying, "I'll tell him, and I just want you to know that I'm still uncomfortable with this." Snorting, Sei said, "It's because he's your brother right?" Shrugging Inuyasha said, "That, and because I've known you for five years and have seen what's happened to you when people figure out that you like men." Clasping the hanyous shoulders, Sei said in a confident voice, "I'm alot stronger than I used to be so don't worry." And without another word the two separated and went back to their lives, Sei to his couch, while Inuyasha headed back to the well.
Once he had left the apartment, Inuyasha headed back to Kagomes at full speed and without stopping into the house to tell his mate he was back, Inuyasha bounded into the well and once on the other side, jumped out and started sniffing. It took him a few moments but once he got his brothers scent he headed off in search of the youkai. After a few minutes, Inuyasha came to a halt under a tall pine tree, and looking up he saw his brother staring at the shining full moon. Pouncing up to the branch, Inuyasha nudged his brother with his foot and said, "Why the hell aren't you at the village." Keeping his eyes on the bright orb, Sesshomaru said, "I needed to be alone for awhile, so I came here."
Setteling down on the branch, Inuyasha said, "I have a message for ya?" Slightly averting his gaze from its focal point, Sesshomaru asked, "How is he doing?" Tweaking his ears at the question, Inuyasha let out a light huff and said, "He's in pain, alone, and feeling disgusted with himself." Letting out his own sigh, the full blooded demon said, "I want to be there to tell him he has no reason to feel any of those things but I respected his wishes to give him time and that's all I can do, no matter how much I despise it." Letting out a small laugh, Inuyahsa said, "I don't want to tell you this but I promised I would." Removing his eyes from the moon, Sesshomaru asked, "What did he say?:" Glaring at his brother, Inuyasha said, "I swear that if I tell you this and you cause him any more pain, I will remove your heart and make you eat it." Sneering the demon said, "Tell me what he said you worthless fool or I will take your soul from this plain." Smirking at his brothers threat the hanyou said, "Your honor won't allow you to do that. Not with what the two of us know about Kagome. But, his message is this, 'I'm ready,' that's all he had to say."
Keeping his gaze on his brother, Sesshomaru asked, "Are you certain that this is what he wants?" Nodding the hanyou said, "He said he's been sure of it for some time, but after what happened he just had to rethink some things. But, that is what he told me, he's ready to claim you and vice versa." Dropping from the tree, Sesshomaru said, "Thank you." before speeding off towards the village, leaving Inuyasha alone in the tree. However, Sesshomarus journey was cut short, because as he approached the well a small voice asked, "Sesshomaru-sama, are you going to see, Seiya?" Turning at the voice the demon looked to Rin and said, "Yes, but when I come back, we are going to have a talk with you, do you understand?" Rubbing her eyes and yawning the girl said, "Yes, sir. And tell him I miss him." Nodding, Sesshomaru grasped her shoulder before saying, "Head to the house and get to sleep." before being absorbed by the blue and once outside of the well he took to the roofs and headed towards the apartment.
