Here’s 23 people . . . just some closure and some fun stuff next chapter.
Seiya had just watched his new mate disappear in a sudden blur, and after turning onto the road he realized just how pointless it was for him to drive to Kagomes home, but for some reason his gut told him that it was important to drive rather than use the subway. Stopping at the light, Sei clicked on the radio and shuddered violently with disgust as the words, “I’m a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world,” hit his delicate ears. Hitting the play button, Sei let out a huge sigh of relief as he heard the heavy sounds of Led Zepplin thrum through the speakers of the car.
As the song continued to play, Seis mind went back to what had happened earlier that morning, due to Sesshomarus blatant disregard for clothes. Of course, Seiya could have cared less about the demons marble like body passing before his eyes, but with the door wide open and his father on the other side watching a naked man exit his sons room, only to grab a bottled water and return to the back of the apartment. His father’s reaction had been close to what was expected, and Seiya was beginning to realize the errors of his decisions. Hell, Seiya would have done exactly the same thing if his child had done what he had done.
Thinking about all of this Seiya was beginning to feel disgusted with himself for lying to his father, and as he parked outside the stairway of the shrine, Sei said, “I’m gonna have to apologize for the next ten years for what I’ve done to him. But, first I have to get this hellish visit over with.” Getting out of the car, Sei put a good three-hour worth of money in the timer and headed up the stairs to find Shippou and Inuyasha going at it . . . again. Leaning against the wall, Seiya said, “Okay, Inuyasha, I’d let him live lest you want Sesshomaru to gut you for denying Rin a mate.” Stopping his attack Inuyasha looked over at the wall and said, “Mind your own damn . . . ” but the final comment never came as Shippous fist collided with his face and a triumphant shout said, “Don’t get distracted or you’ll end up dead!”
Growling at his loss in focus, Inuyasha turned and was about to swipe at the fox, but just as his eyes focused on the foxes location, the hanyou was infuriated to find that Shippou was already standing next to Sei and asking, “What’s up with your scent today?” Smirking at the kitsunes curiosity, Sei said, “Let’s just say your scent will be a bit off if you and Rin mate.” Arching an eyebrow, Shippou asked, “Wait are you saying what I think you’re saying?” Locking eyes with the sitting kitsune, sei asked, “Well that depends on what you’re thinking two tails.” Standing to his full height, which happened to be just below Seis shoulder, the young demon asked, “Did you and Sesshomaru mate last night?”
Patting the demons head, Sei said, “Good boy, do you want a treat for being so smart?” Slapping the hand off of his head, the demon said, “That’s sick!!! I know that males don’t have female organs so how the hell did you guys mate unless . . . ye gods!!” Choking back a laugh at the fox’s disgust, Sei said, “Don’t think about it if it sickens you. But, on a serious note, do you actually care that Sesshomaru and I are mates?” Quitting his dance of pretend nausea, Shippou straightened up and said, “It’s gonna take awhile to get used to knowing what the two of you do in bed, but other than that, I could care less.” Smiling at the acceptance, Sei was about to talk to say something when Inuyasha asked, “Who was the uke?”
Banging the back of his head against the wall at his friends question, Sei asked, “What the hell does that have to do with anything?” Stopping a few feet from his ‘brothers’ body, Inuyasha said, “Well it sort of sets the course that your mating will go. Obviously, with me and Kagome, in terms of the demon stand point, I’m the male so I’m superior, which is a massive lie if you look at what’s on my neck. But with you two, I’d say if you were on bottom then you’re the submissive.” Snickering at the hanyous reasoning, Seiya said, “Well last night I was on bottom, but something tells me your brother will be a bit more receptive.”
Feeling like he was going to wet himself, Sei stifled his laughter as the two demons began turning green in the face at the image he had put into their heads. Well, in Seiyas mind, it was the truth in terms of Sesshomarus actions in bed. He knew the demon had to be on top a bit more in terms of pride, but for some reason Sei couldn’t shake the suspicion that if he was a demon, Sesshomaru would be putty in his hands. Realizing that he had an odd look on his face, and his friends were staring at him, Sei blinked a few times and asked, “So do the two of you have any other questions that are related to my private life?”
Looking at each other with some strange faces, the demons reached an unspoken agreement as Inuyasha said, “Not that I have, except that I need to see what kind of mark you have and where.” Staring at the demon like he was asking him for a date, Sei said, “What the fuck do you need to do that for?!” Rolling his eyes the hanyou said, “Don’t worry about it.” Then after a moment of thought, Inuyasha asked, “Wait where did he bite you?” Straightening up, Sei said, “He bit me on the left shoulder.” Nodding the hanyou said, “Well then you have nothing to worry about. If you let me see yours I’ll show you mine since it’s on my neck.” Sighing loudly, Seiya said, “Fine, but you first.”
Shrugging like it was no big deal, Inuyasha took a couple of strides forward before pulling down the collar of his haori to reveal a small slash of red going from one side of his neck to the other. Staring at it for a moment, Sei asked, “Kagome got the same exact mark?” Putting his collar back up, Inuyasha shook his head and said, “Not exactly, hers goes from her collar bone to the end of her right shoulder.” Nodding his understanding, Sei said, “I guess it’s fair to do this. But I’m warning you that what you’re about to see is a bit weird.”
Watching the humans movements, Inuyasha and Shippou had to hold back some gasps as Sei rested the whole of his shirt on his wrists as he revealed his scarred chest, shoulders and arms. Feeling a pang of guilt Inuyasha was about to apologize for not doing his patrol, while Shippou kept his eyes on the ground out of shame for not keeping Seiya and Rin from getting hurt. Smirking at his friends silent message, Sei said, “Don’t worry about it guys. I’m dealing with it, and besides my mate could care less about these things. In fact I think he finds them kind of sexy, which is flattering, but at the same time seems a bit unusual.”
The two gave a violent shake of disgust at the comment and once their disgust decided to subside, Inuyasha stepped forward and gave a small grunt before saying, “So he bit you right about here?” Feeling the demons claw on the edge of where the mark began, Sei nodded and said, “We pretty much got each other in the same spot.” Snorting, Inuyasha narrowed his eyes as he said, “It looks exactly like the rest of the marks I’ve seen on that bastard.” Putting his shirt back on, Seiya chuckled before saying, “I thought the same exact thing, it’s kinda odd though since the only marks on Sesshomaru are the ones on his face and hands, but now he’s got this one running down the left side of his chest.”
Not saying anything, Inuyasha put his hands in his sleeves before saying, “Kagome won’t be back for another hour, so we may as well go inside.” Looking to Shippou, Sei asked, “What’d you think about my mark?” Keeping to his actual height, Shippou said in a slightly low voice, “It’s a bit weird to see one on another person.” Knowing what the demon was getting at Seiya said, “I don’t blame you Shippou. You did what you could and you protected Rin. I may be scarred and require a cane to walk, I’m happy and I have a new ‘daughter.’” Scratching his head, Shippou smirked and said, “I guess the good outweighs the bad, but just so you know, Rin is still a bit sensitive about her face but she’s getting over it.”
Opening the door, Sei removed his shoes before saying, “Well after an event like that, who wouldn’t be sensitive about their looks. But, I think she’ll be just as pretty as she was before the attack.” Blushing furiously, Shippou coughed nervously and said, “Yeah, well I uhh sort of learned just how sensitive she was about her scars one night.” Stopping in his tracks, Sei turned to his friend and asked, “What did you do to her, Shippou?” Scratching his head the demon said, “I just kissed her and when I tried to stroke her cheek, she freaked out and ran off into the village.” Rolling his eyes, Sei pounded the demon’s head with his cane and said, “You idiot! Why did you go and touch her there?”
Rubbing the lump on his head, Shippou growled and said, “It’s not like I wanted to! She just wanted to know what a kiss was like and well we got into kissing and when we were done I stroked her cheek and told her how beautiful she was and she ran off crying! I caught up with her and told her I was sorry and she just shook her head and said that it was her fault for being so sensitive about it and after we talked about it for a while, we thought it best not to do anything like that for a while.” Stepping into the kitchen door way, Sei said to the distraught fox, “Don’t worry about it. I’m sure she’ll be less sensitive in a few months, just remember she’s a young lady and with humans, the ages of eleven to about twenty or so are a very trying time on our emotions and bodies.” Not saying anything, Shippou headed into the living room to play a video game with Souta, while Sei found Asami standing at the stove making some tea.
Clicking his cane bottom against the floor, Sei said in a polite voice, “Mind if I join you, Asami?” Turning her head, the woman placed a bright smile on her face and said, “Of course you can join me. Sit down and I’ll get us some mugs after this gets done boiling.” No sooner had the words left her mouth, the tea pots sharp whistle reached their ears, along with Inuyasha’s voice shouting about the high-pitched noise. Shaking her head, Asami took down two mugs and grabbing the pot said, “That boy is such a complainer. He’s been coming back and forth for nearly ten years and he still gets shocked and mad about the slightest modern conveniences.” Laughing, Sei grabbed the pot and poured the water as he said, “You still love him though.”
Taking her mug and laughing, Asami put her tea bag in the water and said, “There’s no doubt about my feelings for him. He’s made life much more interesting and after slaying that awful demon, he’s made Kagomes life more fulfilling. Granted I don’t like violence, but I can see why Kagome and the others had to do what they did. And I can also sympathize with Sesshomarus reaction to . . . ” Her voice trailed off as she began to discuss what had happened and setting down her glass she said, “I’m sorry dear. I didn’t mean to bring that up, but I just can’t believe such a horrible thing happened to one of my kids.” Sipping his own tea for a moment, Seiya set down the mug and said, “It’s all right Asami. I’m not over it but I’ve come to terms with it and there’s no use fretting over it. Although sometimes, the nightmares are a bitch. It wasn’t violent or overly painful, in the physical sense, but what it did to my mind and heart is the worse part of the whole ordeal.”
Grabbing the boys hand, Asami sniffled and said, “I can’t say I know what you went through, but you’re my son and I can’t help but feel sad.” Appreciating the gesture, Sei squeezed her hand and said, “Don’t worry about it. I consider you a mother and Michelle as well, so I’m lucky to have had three great mothers in my life.” Snorting, Asami took her glass and said, “Kagome told me that you had a busy night last night.” Choking on his tea and splashing some down the front of his shirt, Sei coughingly said, “What is this? Tell everyone Seiya Got Laid Day?” Laughing loudly, Asami said, “She didn’t come out and say it, all she said was that it was an important time for you last night, and by process of elimination I figured it out.”
Wiping his shirt off, Sei said in an exasperated voice, “She’s got a big mouth sometimes. But yeah, you’re right about last night and I have the proof of it.” Covering her mouth, Asami said in an excited voice, “Let me see! I know it’s a bit weird but I know about Kagome and Inuyasha so I may as well know what you’re mark looks like.” A bit uncomfortable with what she was asking, Sei said in a nervous voice, “Mine goes from left shoulder to the left pec, but are you sure you want to see what’s on my chest?” Realizing what she was asking, Asami sat back and said, “I forgot about those, so just a peek will do.” Chuckling, Sei grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled it down a bit,
Leaning forward, Asami smiled as she saw the purple mark and said, “I expected just such a mark, although why on that part of the body? Isn’t it a bit obvious?” Putting his collar back in place, Seiya shrugged and said, “I could care less about what others think of this. But, it’s not the mark I’m worried about, it’s the comments about my scars that are terrifying.” Clicking her tongue, Asami drained her cup and said, “Don’t worry about that now dear. I’m sure your family won’t force you to take off your shirt if you’re uncomfortable with it. But how far do the scars on your left arm go?” Holding up his left arm Sei pointed at his wrist showing the three huge slashes that now profiled his arm.
Shaking her head, Asami was about to say something when Souta said, “Mom stop bugging him and let him hang out with the men!” The two adults burst out in laughs as Sei got up and gave the woman a small kiss on the cheek and headed into the room to find, Souta sitting on the couch with one of the controllers next to him while his game was kept on the character select screen. Taking a seat next to the young Higurashi, Sei looked around and asked, “Where’s Shippou gone to?” Picking his character, Souta said, “He’s in the bathroom, a.k.a. outside in the bushes.” Selecting a character of his own, Sei began pounding into Souta as he asked, “How come your game’s off?” Snorting, Soutas character, snapped Seis neck and kicked him in the back before rushing forward to continue the assault as he said, “I’ve been on the receiving end of way too much personal information lately.”
Chuckling, Sei initiated a ten hit combo and finished off the round as he said, “Yeah, umm I hope they didn’t scare you into not talking to me or Sesshomaru.” Shaking his head as his character finished off a combo, Souta paused the game and said, “No, besides the relationship between me and your husband is of tolerance rather than actually liking each other. So I could care less about you two banging each other.” Dropping his remote, Seiya looked to the teen and said, “Well that’s a nice way of putting it.” Snorting a laugh, Souta looked at his friend and said, “It was a joke man. My sisters finally ‘wed’ Inuyasha and now you’re with someone so it doesn’t really matter to me what way your swinging.”
Clapping the younger shrine dweller on the shoulder, Seiya was about to pick up his control when the phone rang. Picking it up, Souta groaned as he saw the number and said, “What is it Kagome?” Listening to the teens voice, Sei knew that his friend wanted him as Souta said, “We’re playing a game right now. So can you call back or is this really that important?” Hearing a loud screech, Sei burst out in laughter as Souta juggled the phone before throwing it right in Seis face and said, “Dude, answer it she’s going nuts!”
Making sure that his laughter was under control, Sei picked up the receiver and asked, “What is it Kags?” Hearing her panting, Sei was worried about her but when she spoke he knew she wasn’t the one in trouble. Finally recovering all of her breath after that recent outburst towards Souta, Kagome said, “Not much, it’s just that there’s somebody here at the hospital who needs to talk to you, so I’m going to put them on okay?” Making sure that he was able to fight against Souta while on the phone, Sei shifted the phone and said, “No problem, put the poor sap on the line. And just out of curiosity, shouldn’t you be home?” Breathing deeply, Kagome controlled her anger and said, “Don’t worry about that and talk to this person.”
Hearing the sound of the phone exchanging hands and what seemed to be Kagome explaining something, Sei nearly broke the remote as a deep voice said, “Seiya can you hear me?” Catching the remote before it hit the floor, Sei paused the game and stood up saying, “What the hell are you doing on the phone? I thought you hated these things?” Snorting loudly at the question the voice said, “Don’t worry about why I’m using this contraption I have a message about Michelle.” Heading into the hallway, Seiya sat on the stairs and asked, “Is she okay, Sessh?”
Letting out a shallow breath the demon said, “She is doing well, apparently she’s getting ready to give birth and according to these ningen fools, your brother should be born by tomorrow afternoon.” Holding back some tears Seiya wiped his eyes and said, “Do they need me there?”Speaking to someone in the distance for a moment, Sesshomaru came back on and said, “Yes, your father wants you here and the doctors say that we’re allowed to stay until the child is born. Apparently the man who runs the child care part is an old friend of your fathers and he said we can sleep in the waiting room I believe he it’s called.” Coughing a laugh at his mates lack luster knowledge, Seiya switched ears and said, “I’ll see you in a few koi. What floor are you on?” After a moment of silence, Sesshomaru came back on the line and said, “We’re on the third floor in a room one hundred and seven.”
Writing it down on a scratch pad, Sei got to his feet and said, “Okay, I’ll be there soon.” Grunting his acknowledgment, Sesshomaru said, “I don’t tell you this enough...in fact I’ve only said it a couple of times but you mean everything to me, so be careful and get here soon.” Knowing that this was a serious occasion, Sei felt his heart tighten as he said, “I know koi, and don’t worry I’ll be there soon.” Clicking the button, Seiya peeked into the living room and said, “I gotta go, Souta since Michelle’s in labor.” Dropping their remotes, Seiya noticed Shippous green eyes staring at him from the couch next to Souta as the two said, “Okay, just tell her we wish her luck.” Chuckling at the twos lack of excitement, Sei went to the kitchen and said, “I’m gonna have to call you later Asami since I’m about to be a brother.” Screeching with excitement, Asami rushed forward and hugged the young man tightly before shoving him out the door and tossing his shoes after him.
Slipping his shoes on, Sei headed to the car and turned onto the road leading to the hospital and screamed as yet another car accident kept him from being where he needed to be. Thankfully the cops were on the scene quickly, for once, and soon he was in the parking structure that was connected to the hospital. Paying the twenty-four hour fee, Seiya headed into the elevator and hit the third floor button and as his luck would have it he hit every floor. Keeping his cool, Sei did his best to not break anybodies bones as he quickly headed out onto the third floor. Walking up to the desk he asked a nurse, “Which way to room one-hundred seven?” Checking her list she asked, “Are you a friend of family member?” Nodding he said, “I’m Robert Mizutani’s son.” Looking at Seiya in disbelief she asked, “Can I see some valid identification?” Pulling out his wallet and muttering to himself, Sei removed his license and after checking her list she smiled and said, “You can go. I didn’t mean to cause a problem, it’s just that some weirdos have been trying to sneak into the rooms lately and we’ve been taking extra precautions. But Ms. Morgan and your father are down this hallway and take the left second left and they should be the fourth door on the right” Giving her a quick thanks Sei headed off down the hall and once he took the turn he let out a sigh at the sight he saw.
Outside the door, Sei saw Sara and Sesshomaru sitting on a bench talking in hushed voices. Walking forward, Sei said in a low yell, “What’s going on over there?” Getting to her feet Sara said, “She’s doing fine. The nurse is checking her dilation and stuff so we got sent out here for that.” Hugging his cousin, Sei asked her laughingly, “I hope she didn’t hurt you when she started going into labor.” Giving an embarrassed shrug Sara said, “Not really, she just got an attitude and snapped at me to head upstairs and get her bags.”
Rolling his eyes, Sei said, “Lucky you, I take it she didn’t give Dad any problems?” Instead of Sara replying, Sesshomaru said, “She screamed at him for a few moments and told him that this was the last time he’d ever do that to her and threatened some odd procedure that stops men from reproducing.” Snorting a laugh, Sei sat next to his mate and said, “It figures she’d threaten him with a vasectomy.” Grabbing the humans hand and rubbing it with his thumb, Sesshomaru said, “I talked with your father.” Looking at his cousin, Sei gave to look requesting for some privacy and winking she said, “I’m going to get a soda, need anything?” Shaking their heads the girl headed off to the vending machine as Sei asked, “What’d he have to say about us?”
Removing his hand from Seiyas, Sesshomaru wrapped it around his mates waist and pulled him close before saying, “He doesn’t care about you preferring men. He feels betrayed and hurt, but he doesn’t hate me or you and he wishes us the best. And at my discretion, he knows what I am and what the result of us being together is.” Feeling his chest clench, Sei asked quietly, “I wish you didn’t do that. But as long as he can handle what’s going to happen with me I’m fine. Although I think I should talk to him soon.” Nipping his mates jaw line, Sesshomaru rubbed his cheek against Seiyas and said, “That would be the best thing to do koishii.”
Pressing his head against the demons, Seiya whispered into the demons ear, “You didn’t tell him about the abduction did you.” Shaking his head, Sesshomaru ran his claw through his mates hair and set the boys head on his shoulder and continuing to massage his mates head said, “No, that is something for you to do on your own. Although I’m certain that he will learn about your scars at some point.” Closing his eyes he nuzzled Sesshomarus neck and kissed it a split second before a voice said, “Seiya, you’re hear already?” Accidentally head butting Sesshomarus jaw, Sei rubbed it apologetically before standing and saying, “Yeah, umm listen can we go somewhere for a second?”
Looking at Sesshomaru for a second and then back at his son, Robert put his arm around his sons shoulder and once they were a good distance away he said, “Sesshomaru told me a lot of things today.” Breathing deeply, the human said, “Yeah, I know he told me about discussing our mating and things. And I take it that thanks to Uncle, you know what this means about my life.” Taking a seat, Robert grunted as he said, “It means that the two of you will live as long as the other one does, and should one of you die, it’ll take less than a year for the other to follow.” Leaning against this cane Sei rubbed his temple and said, “That’s about the gist of it pops. Only don’t expect any grand kids from me.” Giving his son a curious look, Robert was about to say something when Sesshomaru came out of nowhere and said, “Michelle-san is asking for you.”
Feeling horrible about not divulging the useful information he had to his son, Robert headed back to the room while Seiya and Sesshomaru followed back to the door and before his mate could say anything, Seis eyes grew heavy and his head fell to Sesshomarus shoulder as he snored lightly in the hallway as an odd dream entered his mind. It was weird that he couldn’t hear anything in the dream but all he could make out was Rin and Jaken shouting at each other and as it was coming to a crucial moment a loud scream hit his ears as Robert said, “We’ll see you in an hour!”

Obviously, with me and Kagome, in terms of the demon stand point, I’m the male so I’m superior, which is a massive lie if you look at what’s on my neck. But with you two, I’d say if you were on bottom then you’re the submissive.” Snickering at the hanyous reasoning, Seiya said, “Well last night I was on bottom, but something tells me your brother will be a bit more receptive.”
Feeling like he was going to wet himself, Sei stifled his laughter as the two demons began turning green in the face at the image he had put into their heads. Well, in Seiyas mind, it was the truth in terms of Sesshomarus actions in bed. He knew the demon had to be on top a bit more in terms of pride, but for some reason Sei couldn’t shake the suspicion that if he was a demon, Sesshomaru would be putty in his hands. Realizing that he had an odd look on his face, and his friends were staring at him, Sei blinked a few times and asked, “So do the two of you have any other questions that are related to my private life?”
Looking at each other with some strange faces, the demons reached an unspoken agreement as Inuyasha said, “Not that I have, except that I need to see what kind of mark you have and where.” Staring at the demon like he was asking him for a date, Sei said, “What the fuck do you need to do that for?!” Rolling his eyes the hanyou said, “Don’t worry about it.” Then after a moment of thought, Inuyasha asked, “Wait where did he bite you?” Straightening up, Sei said, “He bit me on the left shoulder.” Nodding the hanyou said, “Well then you have nothing to worry about. If you let me see yours I’ll show you mine since it’s on my neck.” Sighing loudly, Seiya said, “Fine, but you first.”
Shrugging like it was no big deal, Inuyasha took a couple of strides forward before pulling down the collar of his haori to reveal a small slash of red going from one side of his neck to the other. Staring at it for a moment, Sei asked, “Kagome got the same exact mark?” Putting his collar back up, Inuyasha shook his head and said, “Not exactly, hers goes from her collar bone to the end of her right shoulder.” Nodding his understanding, Sei said, “I guess it’s fair to do this. But I’m warning you that what you’re about to see is a bit weird.”
Watching the humans movements, Inuyasha and Shippou had to hold back some gasps as Sei rested the whole of his shirt on his wrists as he revealed his scarred chest, shoulders and arms. Feeling a pang of guilt Inuyasha was about to apologize for not doing his patrol, while Shippou kept his eyes on the ground out of shame for not keeping Seiya and Rin from getting hurt. Smirking at his friends silent message, Sei said, “Don’t worry about it guys. I’m dealing with it, and besides my mate could care less about these things. In fact I think he finds them kind of sexy, which is flattering, but at the same time seems a bit unusual.”
The two gave a violent shake of disgust at the comment and once their disgust decided to subside, Inuyasha stepped forward and gave a small grunt before saying, “So he bit you right about here?” Feeling the demons claw on the edge of where the mark began, Sei nodded and said, “We pretty much got each other in the same spot.” Snorting, Inuyasha narrowed his eyes as he said, “It looks exactly like the rest of the marks I’ve seen on that bastard.” Putting his shirt back on, Seiya chuckled before saying, “I thought the same exact thing, it’s kinda odd though since the only marks on Sesshomaru are the ones on his face and hands, but now he’s got this one running down the left side of his chest.”
Not saying anything, Inuyasha put his hands in his sleeves before saying, “Kagome won’t be back for another hour, so we may as well go inside.” Looking to Shippou, Sei asked, “What’d you think about my mark?” Keeping to his actual height, Shippou said in a slightly low voice, “It’s a bit weird to see one on another person.” Knowing what the demon was getting at Seiya said, “I don’t blame you Shippou. You did what you could and you protected Rin. I may be scarred and require a cane to walk, I’m happy and I have a new ‘daughter.’” Scratching his head, Shippou smirked and said, “I guess the good outweighs the bad, but just so you know, Rin is still a bit sensitive about her face but she’s getting over it.”
Opening the door, Sei removed his shoes before saying, “Well after an event like that, who wouldn’t be sensitive about their looks. But, I think she’ll be just as pretty as she was before the attack.” Blushing furiously, Shippou coughed nervously and said, “Yeah, well I uhh sort of learned just how sensitive she was about her scars one night.” Stopping in his tracks, Sei turned to his friend and asked, “What did you do to her, Shippou?” Scratching his head the demon said, “I just kissed her and when I tried to stroke her cheek, she freaked out and ran off into the village.” Rolling his eyes, Sei pounded the demon’s head with his cane and said, “You idiot! Why did you go and touch her there?”
Rubbing the lump on his head, Shippou growled and said, “It’s not like I wanted to! She just wanted to know what a kiss was like and well we got into kissing and when we were done I stroked her cheek and told her how beautiful she was and she ran off crying! I caught up with her and told her I was sorry and she just shook her head and said that it was her fault for being so sensitive about it and after we talked about it for a while, we thought it best not to do anything like that for a while.” Stepping into the kitchen door way, Sei said to the distraught fox, “Don’t worry about it. I’m sure she’ll be less sensitive in a few months, just remember she’s a young lady and with humans, the ages of eleven to about twenty or so are a very trying time on our emotions and bodies.” Not saying anything, Shippou headed into the living room to play a video game with Souta, while Sei found Asami standing at the stove making some tea.
Clicking his cane bottom against the floor, Sei said in a polite voice, “Mind if I join you, Asami?” Turning her head, the woman placed a bright smile on her face and said, “Of course you can join me. Sit down and I’ll get us some mugs after this gets done boiling.” No sooner had the words left her mouth, the tea pots sharp whistle reached their ears, along with Inuyasha’s voice shouting about the high-pitched noise. Shaking her head, Asami took down two mugs and grabbing the pot said, “That boy is such a complainer. He’s been coming back and forth for nearly ten years and he still gets shocked and mad about the slightest modern conveniences.” Laughing, Sei grabbed the pot and poured the water as he said, “You still love him though.”
Taking her mug and laughing, Asami put her tea bag in the water and said, “There’s no doubt about my feelings for him. He’s made life much more interesting and after slaying that awful demon, he’s made Kagomes life more fulfilling. Granted I don’t like violence, but I can see why Kagome and the others had to do what they did. And I can also sympathize with Sesshomarus reaction to . . . ” Her voice trailed off as she began to discuss what had happened and setting down her glass she said, “I’m sorry dear. I didn’t mean to bring that up, but I just can’t believe such a horrible thing happened to one of my kids.” Sipping his own tea for a moment, Seiya set down the mug and said, “It’s all right Asami. I’m not over it but I’ve come to terms with it and there’s no use fretting over it. Although sometimes, the nightmares are a bitch. It wasn’t violent or overly painful, in the physical sense, but what it did to my mind and heart is the worse part of the whole ordeal.”
Grabbing the boys hand, Asami sniffled and said, “I can’t say I know what you went through, but you’re my son and I can’t help but feel sad.” Appreciating the gesture, Sei squeezed her hand and said, “Don’t worry about it. I consider you a mother and Michelle as well, so I’m lucky to have had three great mothers in my life.” Snorting, Asami took her glass and said, “Kagome told me that you had a busy night last night.” Choking on his tea and splashing some down the front of his shirt, Sei coughingly said, “What is this? Tell everyone Seiya Got Laid Day?” Laughing loudly, Asami said, “She didn’t come out and say it, all she said was that it was an important time for you last night, and by process of elimination I figured it out.”
Wiping his shirt off, Sei said in an exasperated voice, “She’s got a big mouth sometimes. But yeah, you’re right about last night and I have the proof of it.” Covering her mouth, Asami said in an excited voice, “Let me see! I know it’s a bit weird but I know about Kagome and Inuyasha so I may as well know what you’re mark looks like.” A bit uncomfortable with what she was asking, Sei said in a nervous voice, “Mine goes from left shoulder to the left pec, but are you sure you want to see what’s on my chest?” Realizing what she was asking, Asami sat back and said, “I forgot about those, so just a peek will do.” Chuckling, Sei grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled it down a bit,
Leaning forward, Asami smiled as she saw the purple mark and said, “I expected just such a mark, although why on that part of the body? Isn’t it a bit obvious?” Putting his collar back in place, Seiya shrugged and said, “I could care less about what others think of this. But, it’s not the mark I’m worried about, it’s the comments about my scars that are terrifying.” Clicking her tongue, Asami drained her cup and said, “Don’t worry about that now dear. I’m sure your family won’t force you to take off your shirt if you’re uncomfortable with it. But how far do the scars on your left arm go?” Holding up his left arm Sei pointed at his wrist showing the three huge slashes that now profiled his arm.
Shaking her head, Asami was about to say something when Souta said, “Mom stop bugging him and let him hang out with the men!” The two adults burst out in laughs as Sei got up and gave the woman a small kiss on the cheek and headed into the room to find, Souta sitting on the couch with one of the controllers next to him while his game was kept on the character select screen. Taking a seat next to the young Higurashi, Sei looked around and asked, “Where’s Shippou gone to?” Picking his character, Souta said, “He’s in the bathroom, a.k.a. outside in the bushes.” Selecting a character of his own, Sei began pounding into Souta as he asked, “How come your game’s off?” Snorting, Soutas character, snapped Seis neck and kicked him in the back before rushing forward to continue the assault as he said, “I’ve been on the receiving end of way too much personal information lately.”
Chuckling, Sei initiated a ten hit combo and finished off the round as he said, “Yeah, umm I hope they didn’t scare you into not talking to me or Sesshomaru.” Shaking his head as his character finished off a combo, Souta paused the game and said, “No, besides the relationship between me and your husband is of tolerance rather than actually liking each other. So I could care less about you two banging each other.” Dropping his remote, Seiya looked to the teen and said, “Well that’s a nice way of putting it.” Snorting a laugh, Souta looked at his friend and said, “It was a joke man. My sisters finally ‘wed’ Inuyasha and now you’re with someone so it doesn’t really matter to me what way your swinging.”
Clapping the younger shrine dweller on the shoulder, Seiya was about to pick up his control when the phone rang. Picking it up, Souta groaned as he saw the number and said, “What is it Kagome?” Listening to the teens voice, Sei knew that his friend wanted him as Souta said, “We’re playing a game right now. So can you call back or is this really that important?” Hearing a loud screech, Sei burst out in laughter as Souta juggled the phone before throwing it right in Seis face and said, “Dude, answer it she’s going nuts!”
Making sure that his laughter was under control, Sei picked up the receiver and asked, “What is it Kags?” Hearing her panting, Sei was worried about her but when she spoke he knew she wasn’t the one in trouble. Finally recovering all of her breath after that recent outburst towards Souta, Kagome said, “Not much, it’s just that there’s somebody here at the hospital who needs to talk to you, so I’m going to put them on okay?” Making sure that he was able to fight against Souta while on the phone, Sei shifted the phone and said, “No problem, put the poor sap on the line. And just out of curiosity, shouldn’t you be home?” Breathing deeply, Kagome controlled her anger and said, “Don’t worry about that and talk to this person.”
Hearing the sound of the phone exchanging hands and what seemed to be Kagome explaining something, Sei nearly broke the remote as a deep voice said, “Seiya can you hear me?” Catching the remote before it hit the floor, Sei paused the game and stood up saying, “What the hell are you doing on the phone? I thought you hated these things?” Snorting loudly at the question the voice said, “Don’t worry about why I’m using this contraption I have a message about Michelle.” Heading into the hallway, Seiya sat on the stairs and asked, “Is she okay, Sessh?”
Letting out a shallow breath the demon said, “She is doing well, apparently she’s getting ready to give birth and according to these ningen fools, your brother should be born by tomorrow afternoon.” Holding back some tears Seiya wiped his eyes and said, “Do they need me there?”Speaking to someone in the distance for a moment, Sesshomaru came back on and said, “Yes, your father wants you here and the doctors say that we’re allowed to stay until the child is born. Apparently the man who runs the child care part is an old friend of your fathers and he said we can sleep in the waiting room I believe he it’s called.” Coughing a laugh at his mates lack luster knowledge, Seiya switched ears and said, “I’ll see you in a few koi. What floor are you on?” After a moment of silence, Sesshomaru came back on the line and said, “We’re on the third floor in a room one hundred and seven.”
Writing it down on a scratch pad, Sei got to his feet and said, “Okay, I’ll be there soon.” Grunting his acknowledgment, Sesshomaru said, “I don’t tell you this enough...in fact I’ve only said it a couple of times but you mean everything to me, so be careful and get here soon.” Knowing that this was a serious occasion, Sei felt his heart tighten as he said, “I know koi, and don’t worry I’ll be there soon.” Clicking the button, Seiya peeked into the living room and said, “I gotta go, Souta since Michelle’s in labor.” Dropping their remotes, Seiya noticed Shippous green eyes staring at him from the couch next to Souta as the two said, “Okay, just tell her we wish her luck.” Chuckling at the twos lack of excitement, Sei went to the kitchen and said, “I’m gonna have to call you later Asami since I’m about to be a brother.” Screeching with excitement, Asami rushed forward and hugged the young man tightly before shoving him out the door and tossing his shoes after him.
Slipping his shoes on, Sei headed to the car and turned onto the road leading to the hospital and screamed as yet another car accident kept him from being where he needed to be. Thankfully the cops were on the scene quickly, for once, and soon he was in the parking structure that was connected to the hospital. Paying the twenty-four hour fee, Seiya headed into the elevator and hit the third floor button and as his luck would have it he hit every floor. Keeping his cool, Sei did his best to not break anybodies bones as he quickly headed out onto the third floor. Walking up to the desk he asked a nurse, “Which way to room one-hundred seven?” Checking her list she asked, “Are you a friend of family member?” Nodding he said, “I’m Robert Mizutani’s son.” Looking at Seiya in disbelief she asked, “Can I see some valid identification?” Pulling out his wallet and muttering to himself, Sei removed his license and after checking her list she smiled and said, “You can go. I didn’t mean to cause a problem, it’s just that some weirdos have been trying to sneak into the rooms lately and we’ve been taking extra precautions. But Ms. Morgan and your father are down this hallway and take the left second left and they should be the fourth door on the right” Giving her a quick thanks Sei headed off down the hall and once he took the turn he let out a sigh at the sight he saw.
Outside the door, Sei saw Sara and Sesshomaru sitting on a bench talking in hushed voices. Walking forward, Sei said in a low yell, “What’s going on over there?” Getting to her feet Sara said, “She’s doing fine. The nurse is checking her dilation and stuff so we got sent out here for that.” Hugging his cousin, Sei asked her laughingly, “I hope she didn’t hurt you when she started going into labor.” Giving an embarrassed shrug Sara said, “Not really, she just got an attitude and snapped at me to head upstairs and get her bags.”
Rolling his eyes, Sei said, “Lucky you, I take it she didn’t give Dad any problems?” Instead of Sara replying, Sesshomaru said, “She screamed at him for a few moments and told him that this was the last time he’d ever do that to her and threatened some odd procedure that stops men from reproducing.” Snorting a laugh, Sei sat next to his mate and said, “It figures she’d threaten him with a vasectomy.” Grabbing the humans hand and rubbing it with his thumb, Sesshomaru said, “I talked with your father.” Looking at his cousin, Sei gave to look requesting for some privacy and winking she said, “I’m going to get a soda, need anything?” Shaking their heads the girl headed off to the vending machine as Sei asked, “What’d he have to say about us?”
Removing his hand from Seiyas, Sesshomaru wrapped it around his mates waist and pulled him close before saying, “He doesn’t care about you preferring men. He feels betrayed and hurt, but he doesn’t hate me or you and he wishes us the best. And at my discretion, he knows what I am and what the result of us being together is.” Feeling his chest clench, Sei asked quietly, “I wish you didn’t do that. But as long as he can handle what’s going to happen with me I’m fine. Although I think I should talk to him soon.” Nipping his mates jaw line, Sesshomaru rubbed his cheek against Seiyas and said, “That would be the best thing to do koishii.”
Pressing his head against the demons, Seiya whispered into the demons ear, “You didn’t tell him about the abduction did you.” Shaking his head, Sesshomaru ran his claw through his mates hair and set the boys head on his shoulder and continuing to massage his mates head said, “No, that is something for you to do on your own. Although I’m certain that he will learn about your scars at some point.” Closing his eyes he nuzzled Sesshomarus neck and kissed it a split second before a voice said, “Seiya, you’re hear already?” Accidentally head butting Sesshomarus jaw, Sei rubbed it apologetically before standing and saying, “Yeah, umm listen can we go somewhere for a second?”
Looking at Sesshomaru for a second and then back at his son, Robert put his arm around his sons shoulder and once they were a good distance away he said, “Sesshomaru told me a lot of things today.” Breathing deeply, the human said, “Yeah, I know he told me about discussing our mating and things. And I take it that thanks to Uncle, you know what this means about my life.” Taking a seat, Robert grunted as he said, “It means that the two of you will live as long as the other one does, and should one of you die, it’ll take less than a year for the other to follow.” Leaning against this cane Sei rubbed his temple and said, “That’s about the gist of it pops. Only don’t expect any grand kids from me.” Giving his son a curious look, Robert was about to say something when Sesshomaru came out of nowhere and said, “Michelle-san is asking for you.”
Feeling horrible about not divulging the useful information he had to his son, Robert headed back to the room while Seiya and Sesshomaru followed back to the door and before his mate could say anything, Seis eyes grew heavy and his head fell to Sesshomarus shoulder as he snored lightly in the hallway as an odd dream entered his mind. It was weird that he couldn’t hear anything in the dream but all he could make out was Rin and Jaken shouting at each other and as it was coming to a crucial moment a loud scream hit his ears as Robert said, “We’ll see you in an hour!”
