Chapter 28

“The bastard! All he could do was stand there and not even say anything in his own defense for what he did.” Wiping some tears from his face, Seiya swerved a bit to avoid hitting a pedestrian as he made his way through the city. His mind was a mess while he drove, which made him extremely dangerous to anybody not paying attention, despite the angry mans efforts to remain calm. It’s not as though anybody could blame him for being in the condition he was in.

He’d been having a great day until he’d eavesdropped on conversation that he was now wishing he hadn’t heard. Sesshomaru was somehow bearing his child, a hanyou with both his and Seiyas blood flowing through its veins. Seiya had no way of describing how he felt at the moment, but the emotion that was most present in his mind was that of anger. He remembered the night after he had taken Sesshomaru for the first time, the night when he asked the demon what he thought of them adopting a child later on.

The demon had remained silent, which Seiya took to mean that he didn’t want anything to do with them. Maybe he had taken the silence the wrong way, but the fact was the demon never stated his position on things, and when he didn’t want anything to do with something his answer nine times out of ten, silence. So, his feelings of sadness about taking the demons silence the wrong way were justifiable, even if he was a bit harsh at the house.

“He deserved it though.” said Seiya as he subconsciously took a left. As he drove down the street Seiya suddenly realized where he was heading. “Shit, this isn’t where I wanted to be.” Groaning loudly he was about to do a U-turn when he saw a very familiar car parked in a bars parking lot. Judging by the state of the lot, it appeared as if the night just started for the regulars. Turning in he found a spot, grabbed his cane, and headed towards the familiar automobile. When he reached it, the limping man let out a small smirk when he saw the license plate. He never really got personal plates, but he liked this one. “Hu G Rctn.” Shaking his head at the sophomoric reasoning behind the vanity plate, Seiya turned around to head into the bar.

He’d been to this bar before, it wasn’t a bad place despite the area it was located in, but thanks to the slightly unusual amount of bouncers stationed both inside and outside the club, he knew his car was safe. After getting past the security, Seiya looked around for a few moments until his search resulted in lack of finding his quarry. Giving up his search, Sei found a small booth in the corner, took his seat and waited for the server to come by pulling out a book he’d left in the car with him.

Bringing out this book wasn’t exactly the greatest idea, since if he was spotted he may get the odd stares he normally got when reading in public. If there was anything he hated more than being stared at, it was being judged for trying to expand his knowledge beyond what the boringly mundane and unoriginal world around him. Opening the book he began to flip through the pages lazily, until he found himself thinking about the child growing inside his mate. He didn’t want to think of it, but for some reason the names of people seemed to pull his thoughts towards what to name the kid once it was born.

Each name that was at least speakable always made him imagine what the kid would look like with the genetics he and Sesshomaru had. Taking out his pen, he marked a few names with a crescent moon for later reference, when out of nowhere a voice said, “Well, well, well! What on Earth are you doing down her with us paupers?” Snorting, Seiya closed his book as he said, “Good to see you to Tommy.” Looking up he gave a sad smirk to his friend. It’d been awhile since he’d seen the either Tommy or Maya and he felt bad at not hooking up with them since he and Sesshomaru had mated, since he was busy making up all the classes he missed.

Pointing at the seat across from his friend, Tommy asked, “Mind if I join ya?” Shaking his head Sei motioned for his friend to sit before asking, “What time is it?” Sipping at what was in his glass, Tommy looked at his watch before holding it out to his friend. Looking at the device, Sei let out a deep breath as he saw that it was already nine at night. He’d been driving around town for nearly three hours before he’d ended up at the bar. Sitting back in his chair, Seiya asked, “Does Maya know you’re here?”

Smirking, Tommy pointed up at the bar. Following the finger, Seiya was surprised to see Maya flaring like there was no tomorrow. She was tossing bottles, mixing drinks, and doing it all to the beat of some extremely fast music. Not letting out a hint of surprise Seiya turned to his friend asking, “Please tell me you aren’t taking advantage of her working here.” Setting his glass down, the older of the two men pushed it towards his friend, picking up the amber liquid, Sei sniffed it, gave it a small sip before saying, “You’re drinking apple juice in a bar?”

Nodding the older gentleman said, “Don’t worry about what I’m drinking now. I told you before I cut back on my drinking. Besides the night just started so I have a few hours to get my max amount in for the month.” Arching a brow Seiya asked, “And what is your maximum for the week?” Thinking for a moment, Tommy snapped his fingers before saying, “Well I’m allowed either ten shots of strong liquor or a few pints of any beer of my choice. So, I think I’ll go with the beer tonight. Which leads into my other question.”

Sitting against the dark wall, Sei asked, “You want to know why I’m at a bar when I very rarely let alcohol into my system, right?” Draining the rest of his drink, Tommy raised it as he said, “Nothing gets by you my friend.” Taking a deep breath, Seiya began to think of a possible explanation for his reason of being at the bar. He couldn’t just blurt out that he was mated to a demon and that he was going to have a child with Sesshomaru. Tommy was still sober, so he’d think it was just some sort of sick joke, or if he thought Seiya was serious he’d begin questioning him. Seiya also knew that if his friend got drunk that night he’d start shouting out all the private information Sei had divulged.

Deciding it best to keep certain aspects a secret, Seiya scratched his chin as he said, “Remember that rich guy I told you about?” Setting his head on the table, Tommy remained silent, but gave a clearly visible nod as a sign showing he remembered. Putting his feet on the seat he was on, Sei said, “Well he wasn’t really a rich guy who needed to be shown around. Truth is that the month I went missing, I was at his house.” Looking at his friend, Sei saw a look of concern flash on across his face, as if asking, “Don’t tell me you were there as a boy toy?” Smirking, Seiya said, “Don’t worry about my safety. I was struck in the head by something, and rolled down a cliff, and fractured a few ribs. And the guy just took care of me. Truth was he rarely came near me, save for when we played the occasional game of Go, or if he just wanted to talk.”

Staring up at his friend from his position on the table, the older guy asked, “So what does he have to do with you being here?” Giving his friend “the look,” Tommy groaned as he said, “You mean you’re with this guy now?” Nodding with a small smile, Sei said, “Yeah, but don’t worry he’s not some old perv. He’s actually just a few years older than me.” Or at least looks it, thought Seiya. Getting ready to say something, a waitress approached the table saying, “Sorry for the wait guys. Now, what’s your poison for the evening.”

“I’ll have...,” but the words never finished leaving Tommy’s mouth as Sei asked, “You got any Wild Turkey?” The waitress and Tommy both stared at Seis question of one of the strongest, legal alcoholic beverages on the market. Jotting it down the lady asked, “Can I see some I.D. really quick?” Throwing down his wallet, Seiya watched as the lady read his license, looked up at him, then back at the license before saying, “Are you who I think you are?”

Reaching out for his wallet, Seiya had to wait for a moment before she gave it back to him. When it was back in his pocket he said, “That all depends on who you think I am.” Shrugging the comment away the lady said, “It’s probably just a coincidence. But, do you want one bottle or....” Looking at his friend, Sei smirked as he said, “Three bottles, and it’ll all be cash. In fact this right here should cover it in case I get a little too inebriated.” Handing her cool twenty thousand yen, Sei couldn’t help but chuckle as she walked off to fill their order.

More than shocked at the order just placed, Tommy sat up in his chair asking, “Since when the hell have you drunk shit that strong?” Glancing around the room, Seiya let out a small sneeze before saying, “I don’t, but I’m in a rather uncharacteristically pissed off mood for drinking.” Unsure of what to make of the comment, Tommy asked, “What’s gotten you so mad that you need to drink shit like that. Hell, I’ve taken three shots of it before falling to the ground on my ass. ‘Course those were during my extremely hard core binging days.”

Rolling his cane around in his hands, Seiya looked to his friend saying, “I got into a fight with my partner earlier, which is why I’m in a drinking mood, even though it’s a cliched reason to start doing something as pointless as this.” Silently agreeing with the guy, Tommy waited until the waitress was gone before opening a bottle and pouring them each a shot. Raising his glass in toast, Seiya downed the burning liquid, coughed a bit from the strength of the liquid before finally saying, “If you’re wondering what it was about. I’m not going to tell you cuz it’s a bit too personal, but I will tell you that he lied to me for a long time about something, until I found out about it today.”

Pouring another shot, Tommy downed his as he said, “Well I can see you’re reasoning but don’t you think it’s a bit childish to be mad about having a secret kept from you? Seriously, the reason most relationships last is because the people keep things from one another.” Stopping half way through his third shot, Sei said, “I never thought of it that way. But trust me, nobody I know has ever had something like this kept from them.”

Keeping his gaze fixed on his friend, Tommy asked, “If he’s getting a sex change it’s not that odd to have something like that kept from you.” Almost choking on his drink, Seiya laughed a bit before saying, “He ain’t turning into a woman, that I could handle. This is way more awkward than a sex change.” Not sure if he wanted to know, Tommy sucked down some of the water that was left on the table, along with some of the pretzels that were left there as well, he stayed silent as Seiya said, “I just don’t know what to do man. I said a whole bunch of nasty things, but for some reason I feel it was justifiable. He even had the audacity to compare his secret to keeping it hidden from my dad that I’m gay.”

Taking down a bit more of the drink, Tommy shook his head a little to wipe part of the buzz away as he said, “Well the only similarity is that you both kept a huge secret from people you love. I’m sure the intentions the two of you had were pure, yet I can see where he’s coming from by comparing the secrets.” Scoffing a bit, Seiya drained his glass as he said, “Maybe he was right in the comparison, however a life wasn’t on the line with my secret.” Finishing the first bottle by drinking from it, Tommy set it down before saying a bit lazily, “What do you mean there was a life on the line? You involved in something illegal?”

Taking one of the bottles he handed it to his friend before grabbing his own, opening it, and sucking down a few gulps before saying, “No I’m not in anything illegal. I...well....I need to get drunk before I can tell you. HIC!! Looks like it’s already affecting me. Oh yeah the Japanese bloods strong in me.” Snickering, Tommy said, “Yeah, you can’t hold your liquor. I on the other hand have learned the finer aspects of this noble art so it takes a lot longer for me to get drunk.” Rolling his head a bit, Seiya noticed a few poured glasses of ice water, accompanied by some bar snacks, the shifty Nippon male scarfed down some pretzels, and drowned some water before asking, “I think it’s too late for these to be of any real help, huh?”

Nodding with the, “Oh yeah,” smirk on his face, Tommy put his bottle aside as he said, “You sure you should be drinking like this since you don’t have a driver?” Sucking down some more water and Turkey, Seiya got out of his seat to head to the bathroom, but didn’t make it really far before Tommy grabbed him and said, “All right I’ll help ya to the John.” Leading his friend to a stall, Tommy said, “Can you at least get it into the toilet.” Snickering, Seiya nodded as he stumbled into the stall. Shutting the door, Tommy heard all the necessary noises as he heard Seiyas goal get accomplished.
Once back at their table, Seiya grabbed a bottle and swigged a few drops before saying, “Sorry about this dude. I should be happy about becoming a dad.” Staring at the table, Seiya wasn’t the least bit surprised to hear the sound of glass hitting the table. Looking up he saw Tommy contort into one of complete and utter disbelief. Sipping at his drink, Seiya asked, “What’s so surprising?”

Picking up his glass, Tommy leaned forward as he asked in a low voice, “What the fuck do you mean you’re gonna be a dad? You’re gay, dude which means you don’t like sleeping with women!” Giggling loudly, Seiya fell to his side as he held a stitch in his side. Leaning over the table, Tommy said, “What’s so funny? I know you slept with that one chick as an experiment, but unless you got drunk and banged some girl or donated at a sperm bank I don’t see how you’re a dad, unless your partner got somebody pregnant.”

Still clutching his side from the fit of giggles, Seiya said, “I...haha..didn’t get anybody pregnant....well actually I did but it wasn’t a chick!” Seeing that his friend was really, REALLY, drunk, Tommy asked, “What you mean you did something like in that movie Junior?” Sipping a good portion of whiskey, Seiya set the bottle down as he said, “No not like in Shunior. The guy that I’m wiff ish not even human. Heessh a demon, whissh meanssss that if he gess in a rewahsionsip with a dude, he can have babies.”

Giving his friend a look of disbelief, Tommy asked, “Are you sure you aren’t sleeping with some weirdo.” Slamming his bottle down, Seiya stood up drunkingly as he said, “I ish noff lingin. He’s a demon and I love him. But he hidded what I juss told ya froom me for a ‘ear and he hurt me, cuz I always though I coulssn’t have kids.” Seeing the tears pouring down his friends face, Tommy went over to sit his friend back down when out of nowhere Seiyas legs gave out from under him. Landing on his butt Seiya giggled as he said, “I shouldn’t be walking should I?”

Laughing, Tommy said, “No you shouldn’t be walking. I think you’ve had enough already.” Smirking stupidly, Seiya said, “Well then I have no way of getting home because I’m too drunk to drive!!” Grinning nervously at his friends outburst, Tom began to get extremely worried for his friends predicament. He couldn’t drive because he’d had nearly as much to drink as Seiya. Maya couldn’t do it because she was working. Looking around, Tommy grew afraid that Seiya wouldn’t be able to get back until he heard a soft voice speak.

“What the hell happened to him?” Averting his gaze from Seiya, who was now looking through a bottle in drunken awe, the American asked, “Who are you?” Bowing slightly before sticking out her hand the girl said, “I’m Mia, I used to work with Seiya.” Shaking her hand and bowing a bit himself, Tommy taking the bottle away from his friend saying, “Oy! You know this chick?”

Rubbing the light from his eyes, Seiya stared at her for a moment, until he was focused enough to make out the familiar face of his ex coworker. Sitting up he shouted, “Mia!!! So nice of you to join us! Care for a drink?” Taking the bottle away from her friends hand, Mia shook her head before saying, “I’ve already had enough tonight thanks.” Tilting his head Seiya asked, “Can ya drive a car?” Thinking for a moment, Mia counted how many drinks she’d had, along with what kind, before saying, “Yeah I think I’m good to drive. I only had a few and it always takes over an hour for them to affect me.”

Getting up, Tommy said, “Well then if you have a bit of time before you’re affected, then I’d say take him home.....wait a minute...where do you live?” Bonking the guy on the head for his blunt attitude the girl said, “I’m only five minutes from here. Ask the bartender, I’m in here almost every Friday.” Looking up at the bar, Tommy mouthed the words, “You know her?” Looking away from her customer, Maya looked at the girl, smiled and mouthed, “Let her take him home she’s only a few minutes away.”

Nodding, Tommy looked back to Mia and said, “Well you gotta take him in his car.” Nodding, Mia went to ask Seiya for his keys only to find the guy fast asleep. Smacking his friend on the head, the two watchers laughed as he said, “What the hell did ya do that for? I’m trying to sleep.” Tapping his friend on the head Tommy pointed at the bulge in the drunks pocket. Looking down, Seiya got the drift of the motion and handed his keys over. Giving them to the girl, Tommy grabbed his friend by the arm to help him outside.

Setting him in the car, Tommy shut the door, and wrapped twice on the top. Giving him the thumbs up, Mia backed out and started the way back to her apartment. Which took only even less time than it did walking because it was only three blocks away. When she stopped in a spare parking space, Sei jerked awake muttering, “Wass happening?” Giggling, Mia waved at her friend. Scratching his head, Seiya said in an embarrassed tone, “Oh, right we’re at your place.” He tried to get out himself, but opening the door when you’re drunk without a seat belt on doesn’t really help your ability to stay in the seat so you can get out.

Shutting her door, before rushing to the other side, Mia was surprised to see Seiya laying the ground laughing at his own stupidity. Pulling his legs from the door, Mia locked the doors, before slamming the door shut and looking down at the drunken fool. Grinning stupidly Seiya said, “I see London, I see France..” Kicking his rib, Mia pulled him to his feet as he asked, “How come you’re being so mean? I was only kidding, sheesh you’re more sensitive than Kagome when she’s drunk.” Feeling a tug on his arm, Sei followed the girl to the stairwell of her building.

Looking up, Sei felt like he was going to be sick as he muttered something about not being able to climb stairs. Holding him a bit closer, Mia said in an annoyed tone, “I’m on this floor so don’t worry about falling down them.” Sighing heavily, Seiya allowed himself to be led towards a door with the number 758 on it. Placing him in one of the seats near her door, Mia unlocked it before saying, “This is my place.”

Grunting tiredly, Seiya shakily got to his knees and went into the apartment. Breathing heavily, Mia followed suit and clicked on a lamp before locking the door behind her. Turning to the living room she saw Seiya laying face down moaning into the couch. Walking over to her friend, she rubbed his back while asking, “Do you want to go into my room and lay down for the night?” Turning his face, Seiya nodded slightly before letting out a loud belch right into his friends face. Apologizing immediately afterwards, Seiya allowed himself to be nearly carried into the room while Mia said, “That’s what you get for drinking a bottle of Wild Turkey.”

Falling onto the bed with his face turned to the ceiling, Sei held up a finger while declaring, “I drank a bottle and a half in only....” glancing around for a clock, he soon spotted one before yelling, “an hour!” Hiccuping loudly, Seiya felt a slight rush of bile enter his mouth. Closing it immediately he was somehow able to run into the bathroom that was connected to the room and spat it into the sink before making his way back to the bed. Mia was surprised to see him walk so well without his cane, she guessed it was do to all the alcohol in his system blocking his ability to feel the pain caused by the lack of support to his hip.

Collapsing onto the bed Seiya said, “Mia, why aren’t you able to feel alcohol?” Giggling, the girl pulled off her jacket as she said, “I dunno, but I can tell you that right now it’s starting to get to me.” Laughing loudly, Sei watched as his friend uneasily took off her socks before falling down next to him. Reaching out he said, “If I were straight, I’d probably have ended up with you.” Blushing, Mia said nothing as Seiya stared at her.

Feeling a bit uncomfortable with her friend staring at her in a drunken haze, Mia bit her lip before asking, “Why were you out drinking tonight?” Rolling onto his back Seiya stared at the ceiling before letting out a huge sigh. He didn’t want to explain it all again, he could barely remember what he’d told Thomas back at the bar, but if he’d let anything about Sesshomaru slip, he was fairly certain his friend would pass it off as him being stupid, because he was drunk.

Patting his stomach, while humming Seiya thought about what he would say when out of nowhere, Mia threw herself on top of im and pressed her lips to his. There was nothing he could do due to the fact that he was paralyzed with pure shock. It was all he could do to just lay there while she slid her tongue in his mouth. Pulling her away he said, “Don’t do this Mia all right, we’re both not in a good frame of mind for this.”

Chuckling Mia said, “So, what. You said you’d be with me if you weren’t with your boyfriend. And, besides I heard part of your conversation with that friend of yours, so why don’t you just relax and enjoy it, huh? Tomorrow we’ll be hung over and probably think this was a dream so by those relationship rules it won’t count, right?”A bit confused by his friends actions, Seiya couldn’t help but be a bit interested in the thought of bedding her, that was until she pulled up his shirt and began kissing his chest, and licking her way down it.

Shivering a bit, Seiyas mind drifted to the night before when Sessh had that to him before taking Seiya in his mouth. Mia could feel Seiyas excitement growing and boy was she proud of it. Taking away the fact that she was acting on drunken impulse, she couldn’t believe that she was actually about to do it with a guy she’d had a crush on since Freshman year of College.

As she made her way down his stomach, Mia felt like she was about to explode with the excitement of what was about to happen. Opening his pants, Mia found her dream guy to be standing at full mast. Getting a bit nervous, Mia slowly inched her way towards the member, and placed a small kiss right above where Seiyas pubic hair began. Once that was done she proceeded to take him in her mouth when she heard Seiya sob, “I’m sorry.”

Looking up she saw that her friends eyes were closed with tears pouring down them. From what she could tell he had fallen asleep while she attempted to pleasure him, and ended up reliving the argument he’d had with his lover. Feeling disgusted with herself, Mia fixed up his pants and shirt before climbing up the bed to cradle her friends head in her arms while he cried out for his lovers forgiveness.

Now you may be wondering why she didn’t comment on his scars. Well remember about 14 chapters ago, Mia was shown the scars and given a messed up version of how he got his injuries so that’s that.
