Kagome awoke the next morning with butterflies already fluttering in her stomach. She was meeting Sesshomaru and the other lords in the dining hall in fifteen minutes. Remembering Sesshomaru's order about dressing properly she stalked across the room to the wardrobe and started searching for something to wear.

After throwing out about twenty different possibilities, Kagome finally decided on a blood red kimono with a black dragon curling around her body from her left thigh to her right shoulder. A black sash with red trim was tied around her waist.

After she was dressed she got started on her hair. She left most of it down with a maze of tiny braids pulled back from her face forming an intricate headband effect. The whole thing was secured by dozens of small ruby colored, flower shaped pins. She added a touch of eye shadow and some clear lip-gloss before taking one last look in the mirror and heading down to the dining hall.

When she got there she took a few seconds to gather her courage before pushing open the massive doors and steeping inside. Once the doors were shut behind her she turned to face the other people in the room. Sesshomaru was sitting at the head of the table with the chair at his right empty; she assumed that was where she was to sit.

To Sesshomaru's left were two kistune youkai. The male had dark red hair and almost gray eyes. The only markings he had was a brownish green leaf on his forehead. The female beside him, who Kagome assumed was his mate, had dark brown hair and blue eyes. She also had the same brownish green leaf on her forehead.

Sitting to Sesshomaru's left were two bear youkai. The male had light brown hair and green eyes; on his forehead was a black paw print. (A bear's not a dog's) The woman beside him had black hair and brown eyes and had the same marking on her forehead along with one black stripe on either cheek.

And finally at the end of the table opposite Sesshomaru were two snake youkai. The male had forest green hair and yellow orange eyes. On his forehead was a lime green sunburst. The female had green hair as well but a couple shades lighter. Her eyes were a dark blue almost black, and she had the same sunburst on her forehead only in a lighter pea green.

Clearing his throat to get her attention Sesshomaru motioned for Kagome to sit in the vacant seat to his right. Straightening her shoulders and trying not to let her nervousness show Kagome crossed the room and took her seat. Folding her hands in her lap she waited for Sesshomaru to speak.

" Kagome let me introduce you to the other lords and their ladies," Sesshomaru said. (A/N sorry if I use names that have been used tons of times before.) " This is Lord Mamoru of the Northern lands and his mate Lady Midori." He said in reference to the two kistunes. " This is Lord Kane of the Eastern land and his mate Lady Mika." Indicating the two bear youkai. " And finally," Sesshomaru said gesturing to the two snake youkai. " Lord Ronin of the Southern Lands and his mate Lady Takara."

" May I present Lady kagome." Sesshomaru said formally before returning to his seat. Kagome bowed politely to the lords and ladies as they greeted her. After all the pleasantries were out of the way, the meeting got down to business. (A/N I'm not going to write what all was said because it would get really boring so I'm just going to give you the gist of it.)

The discussions and arguments went on for a couple hours until finally the all came to a decision. " It's agreed then," Lord Kane announced. " We will use the gathering at my home as a war summit to plan our course of action." " Very well," Sesshomaru said to lord Kane, then addressed the rest of the group. . " Have your armies ready to be called upon at any time, a we will include the other lesser lords in are plans for war. The summit will be held in one month." After receiving no protest he continued. " I thank you all for coming."

The other lords and ladies each expressed their thanks for the hospitality before leaving for there homes. With a huge sigh Sesshomaru dropped back down into his chair and began rubbing his temples to try to alleviate the headache pounding behind his eyes. After the pain ebbed slightly he turned to look at Kagome who was still in her chair, sitting quietly.

With out a word Sesshomaru stood pulling Kagome up with him and started walking towards her room. ` Why hasn't he said anything?' ` Did I do something wrong?' Kagome was becoming more nervous with each passing minute. Deciding not to temp fate Kagome didn't ask questions, and passively followed behind Sesshomaru as he continues to her room.

Once they got there Sesshomaru turned to face kagome, she could tell there was something nagging at him. So she kept her mouth shut and waited for whatever was on his mind to be unleashed. Sesshomaru, not knowing what to stay just stood there with Kagome in silence, while he tried to gather his thoughts. Neither of them noticing that Sesshomaru still held her hand firmly in his own.

Dum, Dum, Dum! Oh no what did Kagome do to make Sess act so strange tune in next time to find out!!!!
