The wind mourned softly into the mid-day. A figure of a demon's shadow was seen lurking inside the forest. It sat against an old tree waiting.

“Lord Sesshomaru! I found a very pretty flower! May I put it in your hair?” asked a girl's voice.

“You pathetic little girl! Master Sesshomaru will not allow it!”

The demon soon spoke. “Jaken, let Rin stick those flowers in your mouth and be quiet.”

… Meanwhile, Inuyasha and the gang were eating lunch in a field nearby.

 

“Wow Kagome! This food is delicious!” said Shippo.

“Thanks! I'm glad you like it!” said Kagome.

“I like these thin, crispy thingies better!” said Inuyasha.

Everyone pitied Inuyasha for making that remark and kept eating.

“WHAT?!! I can't believe you! I slave over a stove and you'd rather eat junk!? Plus those were for Kouga!!”

“Well maybe you don't cook as good as you think you do!”

“Oh boy… he's in for it… That idiot.”

“GGGGrRrrrr… Inuyasha! SIT! SIT! SIT!”

“OWww!! AHHHh! NO MOre!!!!!!!”

... Back to Sesshomaru

 

Sesshomaru was a bit angered at how their noisiness was so disturbing. He got up and calmly walked over to them. He saw Inuyasha's face buried in the ground and how everyone else was surprised to see him. They got up, except Inuyasha, and was ready for a battle. “Sesshomaru, what are you doing here?”

“Relax yourselves, I am present because this pitiful excuse of a half brother is disturbing MY PEACE.” Inuyasha was unconscious.

“Oh! Well, he'll be quiet for now on. Hee hee.” He growled in his throat and turned to walk off, but stopped in his tracks to sniff the air. At the same time, Kagome had sensed the jewel shard. “What is it, Kagome?” asked Miroku.

“It's the jewel shard.” Sesshomaru interrupted, “It's Naraku…” He snarled and turned back around searching the forest behind them. Naraku was sitting on a tree branch under his baboon pelt. “I want the girl.”

Sesshomaru glanced at Kagome from the corner of his eyes. “But I still have a score to settle with you. Is the infamous Naraku avoiding me?” Naraku jumped to his feet.

“I WANT THE GIRL!” he charged for Kagome, but Sesshomaru had already snatched her and disappeared into the forest. “Come back here!!!”

“Come find me!” Naraku followed him into the forest.

“Oh no! They took Kagome! Inuyasha, wake up!” Sango tried to shake him awake.

“Do you think we can catch up with them Sango?” asked Miroku.

“No. They're way too fast.” She laid Inuyasha's head on Kirara.

Sesshomaru had Naraku off his trail so he settled near a stream where Rin and Jaken waited and put Kagome down gently. “Why did you take me?! Now how are Inuyasha and the others suppose to know I am safe?” He only glared at her. Soon Rin and Jaken came running. “Lord Sesshomaru! Where did you go? Who is that woman you have brung back?”

“Silence you stupid girl! Master Sesshomaru doesn't need to explain himself!” As the two kept rambling, Sesshomaru and Kagome kept silent.

She stared at Sesshomaru and waited, not knowing what he will do to her. He watched her, looking her over from head to toe. He noticed she was timid and insecure. He walked away towards a waterfall and punched a hole in the wall behind it. He walked out and told her, “This is where you will stay. Do you understand?” She glared at him and he glared back a cold look. “Jaken! Rin! Catch some fish to eat tonight… and build a fire in the cave.” He disappeared into the forest as they went to work for him. Kagome was disgusted at how he treated them.

`I want to go home! This can't be happening! I wonder how Inuyasha and the others are doing? Do they miss me? Are they going to come find me? Why did Sesshomaru take me? And why did Naraku want me? Ahhhh! All these questions going through my head! Okay, just calm down Kagome. Nothing bad will happen… I hope.' She made her way into the cave and cleaned it out. It was very roomy inside and took a few hours to clean out. By the time she had finished, Jaken and Rin were roasting fish over the fire. She sat beside Rin and smiled at her youthful innocence. “Hello lady! Would you like some fish?” Kagome accepted the fish and thanked her before she ate it. “It's taking Sesshomaru quite some time… When do think he will come back?” Kagome asked Rin. Jaken minded his business and grubbed on his fish.

“Oh don't worry, Lord Sesshomaru always returns to us.”

… Back to Inuyasha and the gang.

 

Inuyasha was still unconscious and had his head on Kirara. The others sat around a fire in the night and worried about Kagome. “What do you think happened? Do you think Naraku caught up and took Kagome away? Shippo asked.

“I don't know, but Sesshomaru wouldn't have given her up without a good fight. Even if he doesn't care about her.” Said Miroku.

“So what should we do?” asked Shippo.

“Until Inuyasha wakes up, I think it's best to wait here.” said Sango.

“No way!” Miroku protested. “I am not going to just sit here and not do anything while Kagome is out there in danger! We can't trust either of them… And I can't believe you would even think about doing that to Kagome. You know she would come to your rescue if you were in trouble.” Tears were running from Sango's eyes.

“Do you think I would just let her die out there?! We don't even know where she is! She could already be dead for all we know!” Inuyasha's body stirred but he was still unconscious.

“But we don't know for sure, Sango.” He held her in his arms and she cried into his kimono. “You're right. We should wait until Inuyasha wakes before moving on. I'm sorry.”
