CHAPTER 5

"The truth finally revealed"

"Do you really think this is nessessary?"

"Of course Inuyasha, if ye do not want her to kill ye."

"Feh, fine. Just hurry up with it."

As Hayden lay unconscious on the floor of the hut, she could hear voices. One of the belonged to InuYasha and the other she did not know. She could also smell that there were other people in the room.

Kaede had come back to find Inuyasha and his group in her hut as well as a knocked out hanyou. She looked familiar. When Inuyasha had told her who it was, Kaede remained silent. She couldn't believe she was still alive after all this time. Inuyasha broke her out of her daze to ask her to puts some rosary beads on Hayden so he could control her till he asked her a few questions.

Kagome spoke up, trying to mask the hurt in her voice, "But she is your daughter. You don't want to subdue her, do you?"

InuYasha said, slightly annoyed " Of course I don't, but it's the only way to keep her from trying to kill me until I ask her a few questions."

Kagome understood and watched as Kaede placed the same spell on Hayden as she had placed on InuYasha. She couldn't help feeling hurt on the inside. `Why didn't you ever tell us Inuyasha? Didn't you trust me? I can't believe you kept this huge secret from me all this time.' She sat back and continued to watch, hoping and not hoping that Inuyasha could see the hurt and sadness she was trying to badly hide. But lucky for her, he was too busy watching his daughter.

" Ok now. Just say the word of subjection and the spell is complete." said Kaede. Not about to be pleased with himself InuYasha said "sit" and since Hayden was already on the ground the beads just glowed and the spell was over. "Maybe I should have waited until she was awake first." Said Inuyasha, secretly happy yet guilty at subduing his own daughter. Apparently, Hayden wasn't going to wake up anytime soon now and so they all just sat in silence. Then, Inuyasha realized something and turned to Kaede.

"Hey Kaede, why didn't you tell Hayden about Naraku and what happened 50 years ago and why didn't you tell me she was even still alive?" Kaede looks to InuYasha and says " I have not see her since for nearly 42 years, Inuyasha and I did not tell ye about her for you did not ask and I did not think she was still alive."

Out of all the noise Hayden awakens to the feel of someone's hand stroking her exposed legs and wakes up and slaps Miroku with an angry growl. "Aahhh! Hentai priest! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" shouts Hayden and slaps him sending flying across the room and into the wall. Kagome and Sango looked at each other and smirked both wearing a look that said `I like her' InuYasha goes over to the crumpled form and starts pounding on Miroku's head and yells "Don't you ever touch Hayden again, you sick monk!"

Hayden looks to InuYasha and says "You! Die!" InuYasha closes his eyes and says "sit" and the beads around Hayden's neck glow and she hits the floor and InuYasha winces not enjoying having done that. Hayden sits up and says "What the hell was that and why does my head hurt so damn much?"

InuYasha says, " See this necklace around my neck? You have one now and you can't remove it. I had to do this to you so you wouldn't kill me until we straighten a few things out."

"Feh, like you'd care what you do to me after what you did to my mother, you asshole." (Hayden's quite the cusser) "Why am I here anyway?"

"Because you need to understand what happen. It may have seemed like I killed your mom, but that was a lie. I would never hurt her. It was actually a trap set up by the demon, Naraku." Inuyasha said the name like it was a bitter taste in his mouth. He then went into detail about what Naraku had done to them to cause them to hate each other. He also explained about Kagome being her reincarnation and how Naraku was again after the jewel. The only part he left out was the fact that Kikyo was resurrected.

"Do you really expect me to believe that?! The villagers told me what happen and so did my Aunt Kaede and she never lied."

Kaede tapped Hayden on the shoulder and said calmly, " Hello dear niece."

Hayden spun around and saw her. " Oh. It's you. How you've been all these years, Auntie Kaede? I'm pretty sure you've taken good care of the village without me." Hayden was talking as if Kaede had been just an old lady she had never met but enjoyed picking on her. "So tell me, as you do only speak the truth," she said with some bitterness in her voice, " Is this hanyou speaking the truth about what happen 50 years ago?" She was positive that Kaede would tell her the same thing she had told her when she was young.

Kaede seemed to not want to look her in the eye and says simply, "Yes."

Hayden looks at her with wide eyes and says, " What? But….. but…." She looked on the verge of tears "How could you lie to me like that?"

" Because I did not know all the facts. All I knew was that my sister had died and it was Inuyasha she pinned to the tree. But now I know he is not the one who killed Kikyo, your father and mother were set against each other by the demon Naraku."

"It's true Hayden," said Kagome. Hayden looked around at her, forgetting there were others in the room.

" Yes, we all want to kill Naraku for what he has done to all of us," said Sango. " He killed my fellow villagers and family. Now he is manipulating my little brother Kohaku. Miroku, the one you slapped, is after him to put an end to the curse he put on his grandfather causing the windtunnel in his right hand that will one day kill him, and your father is after him to avenge your mother," she added. Hayden then looks like her heart was about to explode as she was trying to kill her own father for something he did not do. She did not know what to think now.

" Oh well then I guess I am so sorry. I did not know," cried Hayden.

" It's ok Hayden. You did not know," said InuYasha. Hayden sat a few moments in silence, thinking. Then, she said to everyone, " I wish to join your group to help you kill Naraku. I wish to help avenge my mother."

" I don't know if that's a good idea Hayden. Miroku is kind of a womanizer and your outfit is a little too tempting for him. What if I'm not around and he tries to seduce you?" whispered InuYasha.

Hayden smirked and whispered back " It's ok. If the lecher tries anything I'll just pummel him and make sure he can't have children if he wants to get rid of his curse."
