InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Hidden Powers ❯ The mysterious girl on the Hogwarts Express ( Chapter 1 )

[ A - All Readers ]

Author's note: Fine! Fine! I know that all of you have been reading so many Harry Potter crossovers but I wanted to do one for so long and I simply have to get this idea out. But don't worry. This isn't just the average HP/IY crossover. I assure you that this will be quite different. Harry & the others are in the 5th year now.

This is all happening halfway in the Inuyasha series. And no! No such things like Kagome suddenly receiving a letter about going to Hogwarts to train her Miko powers and stuff! I told you I'm going to make this special! You have to read on to know exactly what is happening! Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or Harry Potter or I won't be here. Is there any other fanfic writer out there who own whatever series or books they write about? I'm sure not! So I don't either!

Chapter 1

The Mysterious Girl on the Hogwarts Express

"Hey! Hurry up! The train is going to depart any time now!" A red-haired boy shouted to his companions. He was rushing along the platform, followed by another boy and a girl. Each of them was pushing a trolley, two of which had large birdcages, containing owls of all birds, on them while the other had a large cat resting peacefully on the baggage.

The trio, however, were not the only ones on the platform with that strange an assortment of luggage. Everywhere, people were bustling around with strange sticks protruding out of their pockets. Some were wearing strange cloaks and owls can be seen almost everywhere.

If this had been any normal platform, these people would have received odd looks from innocent passersby. If not, the stationmaster would have been perplexed by their strange behavior. However, this did not happen as this is no normal platform. This is Platform 9¾ and the back-haired boy rushing along just now with the snowy white owl was no normal boy. He was Harry Potter, the boy who lived.

"Phew! Made it!" Harry panted as they staggered onto the Hogwarts Express. Once again, he had went to stay at the Weasley's and after being caught in a traffic jam (Mrs. Weasley had refused to let Mr. Weasley install a single strange gadget on their new car), they had arrived at the station right before the train went off.

"Come on! Let's find some seats. Though I don't think that there will be any more empty compartments." The bushy-haired girl (who is obviously Hermione) said, already dragging her luggage down the walkway.

"Don't bother looking that way! It's full for sure! I think the one right at the back should be okay!" Ron grumbled, heaving up his suitcase with one hand and the birdcage with the other. "Nobody ever bother to go there!"

Unfortunately, his prediction was wrong. When they reached there, there was already a girl seated there by herself. She seemed to be engrossed in watching the scenery outside the window. Either that, or she was thinking of something.

"Is she a student? She seems to be in the fifth year too!" Ron muttered.

"If she is, I've never seen her before." Hermione replied before opening the door.

The girl, hearing the noise, turned towards them immediately.

"Hi! May we come in? All the other compartments are full." Hermione asked politely. The girl just gave a smile and a quick nod and turned back to the window while the trio piled in.

"Are you in new here?" Hermione asked abruptly after all the luggage was put safely away. "I'm not trying to be nosy but I've never seen you before."

"That is called nosy…" Ron whispered to Harry. Unfortunately, Hermione heard that too and cast him a glare before turning her attention back to the girl. She was looking at them amusedly and smiled. Just when she was about to answer, she was interrupted by what has already became a routine visit to Harry and the rest. A visit from Draco Malfoy.

"So I see that you haven't been killed yet, Potter. What a pity." He started with the normal insult. Nothing new. Then he shifted his attention to the girl. "Hey! Who have you got there, Potter? Another one of your pitiful cronies?"

The girl looked up Harry with a raised eyebrow, as if asking 'who is he? An acquaintance of yours?'. Harry murmured a quick explanation before turning back to Malfoy.

"Hey! Crabbe! Goyle! Seen her before? What house is she from?" Malfoy turned to the two, only to see that they are as clueless as to the girl's identity as he is.

Malfoy frowned.

"Get out, Malfoy. You know very well how much hexes I know. Would you like to have tentacles growing out of your face again like last time?" Harry threatened, remembering the incident on the ride away form Hogwarts.

Before an answer could come from Malfoy, the girl spoke.

"You know, those aren't allowed in here and I would rather that no fight break out. Now if you can go back peacefully, then everyone can enjoy the ride." She said softly, but firmly. There seemed to be a tone in her voice that warned them not to disobey. Even Malfoy seemed a bit reluctant when he opened his mouth again. Again, he was interrupted, this time by the girl's firm stare.

"Fine. Come on. They're not worth our time." Malfoy muttered uncertainly, seeming a bit too glad to get away. Harry, Ron and Hermione were now gaping at the girl. Few had influenced Malfoy that much by a simple sentence, much less a girl.

"No need to say anything. Not yet. I think that your brothers are coming this way. At least, I think they are your brothers, by their looks." The girl said, looking at Ron. Right then, the door was pushed open again by two seemingly identical people. (Whom everyone can guess is Fred and George)

"Who did that? We just saw Malfoy run out of here as is he saw a ghost. Was it Harry using that whatever Patronum spell again, or were we just mistaken?" Fred shouted excitedly.

"No. You weren't mistaken but it wasn't me. It was her." Harry replied, nodding towards the girl.

"Yah! You won't believe it. She just looked at him and he got so frightened. Boy! You really should have seen that! The ever so great Draco Malfoy, chickening out because of a girl! Oh boy! Too bad you didn't see that." Ron went on excitedly. Meanwhile, the girl had moved back to her seat, just like nothing had ever happened.

During the rest of the ride, the girl remained quiet while the Harry and the rest chatted away. She only spoke when the castle was visible in the far distance.

"If I'm not wrong, we are going to approach Hogwarts soon. I think you should change into your robes and get ready. I'm sure you're hungry after missing the food while dealing with the, what's his name? Malfoy, right?" The girl said, now smiling warmly. She, herself, was not dressed in a proper uniform but she did not seem bothered. In fact, she didn't act as if she was going to change at all. The trio, however, was much too busy preparing to notice that. They just nodded, mumble a quick thanks and rushed to change.

"By the way, what's your name?" Hermione asked before she went.

The girl blinked, then suddenly realized that she had not told them the answer yet.

"Kagome. I am Higurashi Kagome. Pleased to meet you."

I'm sure quite a lot of people knew that way before hand! So…who is Kagome going to be? (Or rather, what role is she going to play?) If anyone felt that they know the answer, or would like to guess, feel free to do so! Just tell me through reviews or e-mail. Talking of reviews, please review!

Of course, Inuyasha is going to be in this! How could he not? I love it when the couple gets together! Ohohohoho! He is probably going to be in the next chapter! I think that the rest of the gang will appear later too! Depends on my mood and requests. So…please review!
