Sorry for the wait everyone I have been really busy lately! A lot of you have been clamoring for a lemon well … this chapter doesn't have one lol! Sorry guys I already have the whole plot down in my head, this is a fair length story for me, and in my world `later chapters' translates to `you're gonna be waiting a while'!
Don't worry I'll keep my promise and give you one eventually!
For now enjoy this chapter I have been working on it bit by bit for a while now!

The week went by agonizingly slow for both InuYasha and Kagome. At every available moment Kouga would try and get close to Kagome, he would hold her hand, take her everywhere, act possessive, and snap at anyone who would have otherwise made fun of her. It was particularly driving InuYasha insane because he would do these things particularly when InuYasha was looking knowing how it would get to him deep down inside. For Kagome Kouga was simply overwhelming and made her feel more uncomfortable every minute he spent fussing over her and he had tried multiple times to get closer than necessary to her. The only reason he had failed so many times was because Myou, who she still kept nicely hidden in her room, would always jump between them and ruin every possible moment. Kagome didn't care if Myou was a demon dog, all she knew was that the puppy was Kouga repellent, so she had that dog with her at every possible moment. Meanwhile InuYasha continued breaking pens.
Time would continue to drag on in the same old manner, home, sleep, bruising, Kouga, school, Myou, and repeat. Over the course of about two weeks Myou got bigger and bigger, at about three weeks old he had already grown past Kagome's knee, and he continued to grow. Myou was smart, loyal, and seemed to understand everything Kagome said, but if he got much bigger he would be impossible to hide.
The last bell rang and Kagome walked quickly to her locker to gather her things and get home as quickly as possible, if she was lucky she could start walking home before he caught up, but when had Kagome actually had luck any way shape or form?
“Hey Kags you're in a bit of a hurry,” Kouga almost seemed to appear out of nowhere making Kagome jump, he used that freakish speed to freak he rout quite often, he probably got some form of enjoyment out of it.
“I have to go walk Myou he'll be waiting for me,” she replied and continued to speed walk to her locker as though she thought she would loose him.
Sighing Kouga continued to keep perfect pace with Kagome as she walked down the hall, “You know Kags you're always tired because you always have to hide that dog, I thought you said looking after it would be temporary, Myou is an adult by any standard he would be fine if you let him get adopted.”
“I know,” there really was no avoiding Kouga when he had his mind set, but I don't want to.
His eyes darting around Kouga made sure no one was around in the hallway to see him as he finally began to make his move, there were no teachers, no other students, and no stupid white boulder of a dog, “Kags we've been hanging out for a long time and you know I think you're pretty…”
That line was another one of many Kouga had used before Myou came to her rescue and she really didn't think much of it but she failed to notice that this time there was no one around to interject. Since Kouga was so swift he had snaked his hand around her waist and pinned her against the nearest locker without a sound, Kagome hadn't even had time to refuse, she couldn't move or get away from him since his bigger and stronger body had completely pinned her against the cold metal. He looked down at her with hungry eyes and a satisfied toothy grin.
“…and I have waited so long I really can't wait any longer Kagome,” he whispered leaning down to her so his hot breath heated her skin.
Kagome squirmed letting out a small helpless whimper, “Kouga please don't!”
Chuckling softly Kouga just said, “Don't worry Kagome I'll be gentle.”
The platinum haired hanyou teacher InuYasha Taisho was heading to the office at a very well timed moment, he had almost just walked past that very hallway when his ears picked up the pathetically soft protest from Kagome, and he immediately skidded to a halt. His mind seemed to literally snap at that moment, he had never liked Kouga, and having him try and force himself on Kagome was all he could take. InuYasha didn't even have to think twice.
His body moved almost robotically down the hallway with a snarl pent up in his chest, he had to restrain himself, he couldn't cause a scene, but it was hard as hell for him. InuYasha placed a harsh hand on Kouga's shoulder prying him off with no more force than necessary, “Stop. This. Right. Now.”
“Mr. Taisho,” Kagome murmured under her breath gluing her eyes to the floor with a tomato re blush, this is all I need. He must think I am such a slut now, I'm so pathetic, I couldn't even get Kouga to stop on my own.
“Watch it,” growled Kouga who began babying his shoulder slightly.
InuYasha had absolutely no patience left, “This is a school Mr. Wolfe and you will not do something so inappropriate here. Now leave. Miss Higurashi I want you to come with me please.”
Her heart pounded sending more blood to her face and deepening her blush if it was at all possible, “Y-yes Mr. Taisho.”
Even though he wasn't facing that direction InuYasha could practically feel Kouga's venomous glare on his back, that kid was really pushing his luck, if InuYasha hadn't been his teacher then he wouldn't have had a problem hitting him upside the head to teach him a lesson he would actually pay attention to. The only good thing that really came with the power of being a teacher was that he was able to rescue Kagome without any backtalk from the brat wolf. What could he say anyway? `My teacher told me to stop making out with a girl against a locker' InuYasha snickered just trying to picture how that would look.
Kagome meanwhile couldn't stand waiting for exactly what her hanyou teacher was going to say or do to her since her experience with punishment was her drunken bastard of a father. Something like that branded into a girl's brain can really tare at her nerves especially since InuYasha was continued staying completely silent as he lead her further away from Kouga. She wished he would just get it over with.
“Mr. Taisho,” she said quietly when she found she really wait anymore.
“Hm?” There was no real emotion in his response, no real interest, making it impossible to tell exactly what he was thinking.
Swallowing hard she decided to just say what she had to say and be done with it, “What is my punishment?”
One fuzzy white ear perked slightly, “What?”
Is he just trying to drag it out of me on purpose or something like a mind game, she thought for a moment. Kagome had bad experience with mind tricks before; sometimes they were almost as harsh as physical torcher, “For um … well … you know…”
InuYasha glanced at Kagome for a moment, “I'm not sure what you're talking about, if you're talking about what happened back there, then you're not being punished you were being rescued. My hearing much keener than a humans so don't think I didn't hear you protest, the best way to deal with it was to get you away from him, and believe me I won't be going easy on him during class tomorrow.”
“But,” Kagome paused for a moment to bite her lip, “I didn't really do anything to stop him, I could have struggled, and I could have done something more…”
“Miss Higurashi he's a wolf demon if he had been determined to anything to you against your will do you really think struggling would have done anything,” he asked.
“Maybe not-”
“-Miss Higurashi-”
“But still I should have-”
“Kagome,” InuYasha interrupted quickly before Kagome could continue with her side of a going nowhere argument, he took a short pause to collect himself after his last attempts to get a word in. He smiled at her and placed one of his hands on Kagome's head, “its not your fault no matter what you say so just don't worry about it ok?”
The raven haired teen halted in mid step; that was the first time he had called her by her first name, and it had caught her quite off guard, as had him suddenly being so close to her.
InuYasha's one year twitched again, he could hear his heart pounding in them, he was so close to her and it would be so easy to…
She's a student, InuYasha reminded himself, but by the time he actually had he had gotten his face much closer to Kagome's steadily reddening face. The hanyou withdrew quickly and began moving down the hall again, this is the type of thing Naraku would more than gladly fire me for! Damn it learn a little self control … and stop those stupid thoughts!
She noticed with him being close, it was something easy to notice since they weren't in a crowded gym like last time, that InuYasha had a natural scent to him instead of the heavy cologne or aftershave most adult males wore. It was probably because of his sensitive nose, and even though she was only human she still thought he smelled nice. The thought made her cheeks turn crimson.
“Come on Miss Higurashi,” InuYasha called once he noticed he was quite a bit ahead of Kagome, “I'll drive you home.”
“Alright,” after some time Kagome had learned not to keep protesting against InuYasha, he was as stubborn as a mule, and she listened to him even though it did make her feel a little uncomfortable that he was being so nice to her.
0000000000000000000000000000000000
There was little talking on the drive to Kagome's home, if there was any it was InuYasha attempting to start a conversation, but it was a short trip so it didn't make any real difference.
Kagome enjoyed the silence as much as hearing InuYasha talk, maybe she enjoyed it a little more than she should, he was after all her English teacher. But she couldn't help the thoughts that sometimes crossed her mind when she watched him sitting behind of the wheel of his car sitting so relaxed with his silver hair falling down his back, and those little dog ears perched on top of his head. More than once Kagome had been almost tempted to reach out and stroke those ears of his to see if they were as soft as they looked.
Give it a rest Kagome, she scolded fixing her eyes ahead of her so she wouldn't be staring at him, stop thinking like that.
InuYasha's car pulled into Kagome's driveway and even though she kept telling herself not to she couldn't help but feel a slight edge of disappointment in the back of her mind. It was driven away fairly quickly though when she noticed there were two cars parked in the driveway, and leaning on the hoods of the cars were Kagome's father and Mr. Wolfe discussing yet more business and sharing a few beer. Standing faithfully beside his father was Kouga, she had forgotten how unbelievably fast he was, and of course he just had to be one of the last people she wanted to see.
The ebony haired teen shrunk down in the leather seat hoping that maybe if she became smaller her father wouldn't see her, but it was much to late for that. Her father, Mr. Wolfe, and Kouga were already staring at her through the front window of the car.
Oh god, Kagome couldn't help it but she started shivering just thinking of what her father was going to say about her being driven home by her teacher, “Thanks for the ride home Mr. Taisho but I think I have to go.”
“Ya me too,” InuYasha stated, “Looks like this is about to get slightly awkward.”
Kagome scrambled out of the car as fast as she could and walked toward the house with her eyes glued to the ground so she wouldn't be able to see the three sets of eyes boring into her. All she could do was slip into the house and watch from her living room window as InuYasha's car pull out of her driveway and leave her alone and defenseless. Inside she prayed for him to just come back, but it was something that wasn't about to happen for Kagome.
Mr. Wolfe and his son left after Kagome's father had a quick word with them, then he came storming up to the house looking quite red in the face from anger and from the fact that he was likely already drunk.
Feeling so scared she was almost sick to her stomach Kagome decided it best to run and hide somewhere while her father settled down … if that would ever happen. The lock on most of the doors had previously been damaged by her father in past fits of rage so she ran to the first door with a lock she could find. It happened to be the spare room where a lot of their old stuff was kept, it was the only surviving locked door, and it had plenty of boxes inside to barricade it with.
“Kagome get your ass out here right now,” the pounding of Kagome's father's fists on the door was so deafening it was like thunder; the wood even started giving cracking sounds under the pressure, “You little slut! Don't think I don't know that you've been fooling around with that bastard hanyou teacher of yours! Get out here and get what is coming to you! KAGOME!”
An enraged Mr. Higurashi was almost as scary as an angry demon so there was no way on god's green acre that Kagome was going to move from her little safe room. At least there she would have a few moments of relief before he sobered up enough to find something to break the door down with. It was basically only a way to stall what her father had in store for her.
Awaiting her fate Kagome sat curled up on the floor whimpering and shivering as she was faced with every single relic of her past that had been tucked away in the tiny room by her father. All the old cloths, photographs, craft, and old movie every collected by the Higurashi family before Souta and Mrs. Higurashi died in a car accident. It was certainly not helping Kagome's state as she waited in fear remembering the older beatings her father had given her over the years.
“It's all your fault,” her father's angry voice echoed in her mind, “You were the reason they were in the van! They were looking for YOU! If it weren't for you then Souta and your mother would still be alive today! It's your fault! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!
The door finally gave way leaving Kagome's father standing in the empty doorway with the brass lamp from the living room he had used to knock it down with making Kagome scrambled to the back of the room.
“You disrespect me and embarrass me time and time again you little whore,” Mr. Higurashi seethed holding the lamp like a club, “Now its time to pay!”
“Daddy please I'm sorry,” cried Kagome.
It didn't matter, the exact same events had played out the same before, and she knew no amount of pleading was going to save her. But then again she never had a demon dog around her house in those past events so when Myou came storming out of her room snapping and snarling it was a surprise for both Kagome and her father.
“What the hell is that thing,” Kagome's father snapped.
Myou just snarled baring his big white teeth as he lunged at her father and knocking him to the ground. Myou's massive weight - that had possibly increased more since Kagome left him for school - all rested on the man's chest with the dog's large black nose and row of razor teeth hesitated inches in front of Mr. Higurashi's nose. The Myou Kagome had raised had never shown that side before, he had always been gentle and playful, but now he seemed vicious.
Go, a voice instructed strictly inside Kagome's mind, I've stood by long enough. You're leaving this place right now.
Kagome swallowed hard trying to calm her voice, “M-Myou.”
Run now Kagome, go to the school and find that hanyou, the baka is supposed to be the one that is protecting you, Myou's voice snapped as the dog gave another snarl.
Without even thinking Kagome got to her feet and ran to the door, she wasn't about to refuse an order from an angry demon, at that moment when she was frightened as hell she would have tried running anyway if the opportunity had been there.
“Oh no you don't,” Mr. Higurashi wasn't about to give up and let a dog beat him. With all the strength he could muster he shoved the dog off to the side and into a pile of boxes where Myou struggled to regain his balance. It gave Mr. Higurashi enough time to run to the door and jam it with the small table at the end of the hall before taking off after Kagome who had not yet made it to the door.
Her fingertips had barely even grazed the brass knob before she was tackled to the floor by her father's heavy body pinning her stomach down. Kagome clawed at the carpet trying to get away but it didn't do her any good because Mr. Higurashi still had that brass lamp of his and he was wielding it without mercy on his daughter.
The first blow hit Kagome's back completely stunning her long enough for her father to get a clean shot at her head which made her see stars and begin to teeter in and out on consciousness.
He's going to kill me this time, Kagome realize as another blow landed her collar bone, he is really going to kill me, I'm going to die here alone, and no one will help me…
Myou had finally been able to break through the door and once again came bounding in to knock Kagome's father off her. That time Kagome did not hesitate to run no matter how disoriented she was, and she didn't stop running until she reached the small park where she always slept and collapsed beneath the tree.
Bleeding and exhausted Kagome black out.
