Chapter 1: Meeting the new kid
X-x-X-x
A light knock could be heard tapping on the door to a decently large room with a sleeping teenager in it. Waiting a few moments for an answer, but receiving nothing, the person merely walked in caring very little, if none, how the sleeping teenager would react to there rood intrusion.
Walking quietly to the bedside she sat lightly on the bed, studding the still figure momentarily from the little light that reached her from the drawn blinds.
He sat with his back to her, wearing nothing but his silk red boxers. The sheets were tangled about his bed and intertwined with his feet and legs. His silver hair laid passively around him, framing his face and toned body with a glow like shine from the reflection of the sun, that had managed to peak its way into the dark room, on his silver strands, while his head made a slight indention into his pillow as he laid curled around it; his hand firmly tucked under it to ensure it stayed beneath his head while his other arm hung limply on the bed space in front of him.
All in all it was a very peaceful moment. Unfortunately he wasn't as peaceful as he appeared when he was awake. That, the person knew for a fact. At times like this, though, she enjoyed to just watching him sleep peacefully, fully enjoying the last few minutes of peace she would have until another day approached and she found herself doing this again.
Reaching out softly she gently shook the man before her, speaking to him in soft hush tones that only a mother would to her son.
“Inuyasha, sweetie its time to wake up. Time to face another day at life, time-”
“-to live life to its fullest.”
The said boy interrupted gently, finishing the verse she said to him every morning.
Rolling over Inuyasha looked up at his mother from his place on the bed returning the true bright smile he only gave to her, that she gave to him.
“Good morning sweetie.” The woman replied just as soft and gently as she always did.
It warmed his heart and gave him a reason to get out of bed. His mom was his life, she was the only woman he ever truly let into his heart. She understood him, and she cared for him.
Sitting up slowly Inuyasha stared at his mother as she gently rubbed his back, softly drawling him from his still hazy sleep deprived mind. He loved this. He loved waking up like this. The care she gave him was heart warming and the methods she used were persuading. Everything she did was from her heart. She was pure to every extent, perfect in his eyes.
“Good morning,” he responded.
Pushing himself up on his elbows with his pillow laying now forgotten on his bed while his sheets wrapped themselves more tightly around his legs , Inuyasha looked at his mother.
“Get up and dressed dear, school starts in an hour. I'll have Jaken drive you.” she said kindly.
Pulling up fully with little effort, Inuyasha slumped over himself, still tired from the previous night.
“No that's okay,” he replied sincerely, “I think I want to drive to school today.”
“And besides,” Inuyasha added, “I always drive.”
“And I always offer.” His mother finished.
Smiling to him still as sweetly as she had been since he woke up she nodded cheerfully.
“'Kay! But no getting out of it, you have to get up and ready. I want you to eat some breakfast before you leave.” she said cheerfully, but serious towards the end.
“Okay mom,” Inuyasha replied while smiling to the middle aged woman. Her moods always seemed to be contagious when he was with her in private. Inuyasha had learned long ago to enjoy the time he got spend with her alone, and he did.
“I mean it.” The woman set firmly.
“Okay! Okay!” Inuyasha laughed while swinging his legs over the side of the bed to better emphasize his point. The bed sheets tangled helplessly at his waist as his hair fell into his face, giving him what his mother would call `bed head'.
Glad that he got her point she tenderly reached out, brushing the strands of his unruly bangs out of his face while smiling at him. Her violet eyes clashed with his ember golden and he couldn't help but feel unworthy under her gaze that shown of her love in him so brightly in her eyes.
Pushing herself up off the bed, she headed toward his bedroom door. Expertly dodging obstacles that lied in her way effortlessly. Reaching his door she didn't spare him a second glance as she made her way out.
“Don't be too long dear,” was the last thing Inuyasha heard before his door emitted a soft click effectively telling him his mother was gone…well that and the sound of her foot steps fading down the hallway.
Jumping out of the bed Inuyasha quickly made his way over to his dresser, making a small-but much needed-mental note to clean his room along the way. After pulling open some drawers, shoving some close, and mentally debating against him self, Inuyasha could finally say he found the right outfit for the day. He was, surprisingly, in a good mood as he made his way out of his room and into the hallway bathroom to perform his morning rituals.
After finishing what needed to be done in the bathroom, Inuyasha made his way out into the open hallway filled with pictures lining the walls from him as a baby to his half-brother graduating Highschool.
The hallway quickly filled with noises as the large house boomed to life was filling itself with commotion as maids and butlers alike quickly rushed passed him to begin there job for the day.
Inuyasha dismissed it all though. He was used to this, this is how he always grew up, with people surrounding him but never really being there. It no longer fazed him as it used to. At some point in his life it became normal, just like everything else that happened to him.
The wooden floors creaked every now and then as Inuyasha made his way towards the flight of stairs that would lead him to the kitchen. Aromas from different fumes reached his nose before he entered the kitchen quietly, knowing that something bad was going to happen any second.
To his great surprise nothing was there, no annoying half-brothers or persistent dads, just his mom and the kitchen staff. He quickly made his way over to the wooden table, found his spot and sat down while waiting patiently; knowing that if he moved his mother would be on him faster then a mother hen and her chicks.
He didn't have too wait long before his mother came over to him with a plate of steaming eggs, knowing that it would be all she could get him to eat so early in the morning. Inuyasha took the plate graciously making sure that he didn't eat savagely. Knowing his mother would be angry with him. After finishing his breakfast Inuyasha got up and placed his plate in the sink, realizing that someone would attend to it.
Grabbing his keys off of the key ring, Inuyasha made his way out of the house and towards the garage.
His ember eyes scanned over the numerous amounts of cars, before landing on his own.
Rushing he quickly slipped his concealment spell over his body, taking little to no notice of the drastic changes that took place on his body. His hair turned ravens black, streaks weaving into his silver hair before his whole head became consumed in the endless darkness. His eyes changed from their fiery ember to a dutiful violet, resembling his mother in every aspect. His dog-like ears slid from his head, coming to rest over the sides of his face, resembling human ears. His canines shrunk in his mouth to resemble human fangs, while his talons shrunk to regular human sized nails.
All in all the entire concealment spell seemed very real, only those with a high ability to scene auras and were trained in the art of the miko could see through the concealment spell he wore. Even the most powerful of mikos, though, would have trouble. His mother had gone through everything to get the best concealment spell for him, searching in the entire world, and so far he had not been let down.
He slipped his silver key into the aluminum door, watching in satisfaction as the car came to life, its engine purring to life. The doors unlocked and Inuyasha slipped in, put the car into reverse and made his way towards his first stop.

Black hair covered the flush white pillow in waves of silky hair. The teenager lay dormant, unconscious to the world around her as she slept her dreamless sleep.
A tentative knock tapped on the door, hesitancy evident in the un-rhythmic beats on the door. The person behind the door knowing that they could get fired for just doing this and angering the sleeping girl.
The said teenager cracked a weary eye open, not liking to be woken in the ass-crack of dawn.
“What?” She asked unpleasantly.
“Umm…” The person on the other side stuttered; suddenly forgetting what she was going to say, fear making her loose her mind from the malice lining the young girls tone.
The girl still laying passively in her bed grew aggravated, not at all liking how this person had so rudely woken her then only give her an `Umm'. It made her angry towards her father for hiring such bumbling idiots for maids.
“If that is all you have to say towards me then leave.” The girl lying in her bed replied, rolling over in her bed and pulling her black sheets and comforter closer to her body.
“No wait!” The maid exclaimed desperately. Not at all liking where this conversation was going.
Furrowing her eyebrows in anger the girl lying in her bed sat up suddenly, flinging the black covers off her body, watching in anger as they descended to the ground in a black heap.
“What do you want?” The girl sitting up in her bed asked slowly, trying not to rip the door from its hinges and purify the maid's ass.
“Umm…”The maid stuttered, further angering the teenager, “Umm-! You dad says that you need to go to school and that he signed you up at the Highschool down the street!” The maid hurried to finish.
There was a great pause in which the maid grew nervous.
The door suddenly swung open to reveal a distorted looking woman who had just woken up.
“What. Did. You. Just. Say.” The woman drew out, trying not to explode. Her face stood in an emotionless mask, not letting the terrified maid see her true anger.
“Umm…” The maid began to stutter again, feeling suddenly that she needed a raise. She wasn't this girl's mother, why should she tell the brat that she was no longer going to be home schooled and now being thrust into the cold world of public school?
“If you say `Umm' one more time, then I can assure you that you will be out of here so fast you'll get whip lash, am I clear?” The girl said slowly, her anger finally getting the better of her. She wasn't usually like this, only when she was being pushed to her limit, and damnit she felt like she was about to explode.
“I-I'm sorry Higurashi-sama!! I'm just relaying the message your father told me to give to you!” The maid cried out in distress, wondering all the while why she of all people had to be the one person to wake this girl up.
It was quite clear that this teenager was not a morning person.
The girl just glared at the maid, her silver-blue eyes boring into the girl's very soul.
“What dose that man have any say in what I do with my life?” The upset girl asked testily.
“I-I don't know!” The maid shouted the stress and pressure finally getting to her.
Bowing to the girl profusely the woman near tears said rushed, “I'm sorry Higurashi-sama! I'm only doing as I was told!” And with that the frightened maid ran down the corridor to the multi-layered home, never once looking back at the bemused girl.
Raising a delicate eyes brow the girl stared where the maid had just ran from.
Was she truly that frightening in the morning?
Shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly she walked back into her room, getting ready to go, and slamming the door in her frustration.
Today would not be a good first day.
X-X-X-X
`Today's going to be another great day' Inuyasha thought happily as he saw his friend's house come into view just over the horizon.
Everything was just pointing to this day being great, now if his friends would just hurry their lazy asses up then his day would be perfect.
Seeing Miroku's house come into view he raised his speed a bit before slowing to a complete halt and honking his horn.
His spirits instantly flared as he saw that his friends had taken it upon themselves to be at the same house, which just made his day a shit load easier.
Pushing the unlock button on the drivers side door, Inuyasha unlocked the doors as his friends approached the car. The car door swung open and Inuyasha heard a, “Hey man what's up?” discreetly as the passenger seat was pushed forward and a female teenager slid into the back seat mumbling a brief, “Touch me and die Houshie,” before the seat was pushed back to its original position and a man with dark brown hair and a rat tail hanging from the nape of his neck slid into the passenger seat, closing the door delicately, knowing how bent out of shape his friend could get.
“Hey what up man?” That man known as Miroku, asked his hanyou friend.
“Not much,” Inuyasha replied, not being able to wipe the shit eating grin from his face.
Miroku looked at his friend suspiciously.
“So…Yash, what's with the look?” Miroku asked his friend.
Inuyasha's grin-if possible-became wider.
“Not much,” he replied, “I just have a feeling that today will be a great day.”
Miroku still looked at his friend with suspicion, not convinced by his bull shit excuse.
Deciding to drop the subject the violet eye boy turned in his seat, straining a little from the resistance from the seat belt.
Violet eyes clashed with honey brow eyes and Miroku felt a sly grin come to his face.
“Sango, my love, do tell me how exquisite was your night last night.” looking up and down her body for the briefest of seconds he then continued, “I see that you got your beauty sleep last night. Yours curves are still looking as voluptuous as ever.”
The girl felt her pulse begin to rise as she felt her anger increase in a ten fold in just seconds. She felt the beginning twitch in her eye brow coming on, signaling to Miroku and all that knew her that her anger was boiling.
“Tossing her chocolate color pony tail over her shoulder the girl growled-well as close as a human could growl-at the man with the cocky grin plastered on his face.
Raising her fist in furry she quickly struck the teenage boy upside the head, which caused three things to happen stimulatingly-he fell slightly forward, his face landing unceremoniously in Sango's lap as the seat belt, strained from the excess weight, locked in place thus cutting off the mans air supply. The girl-Sango-then grew even more repulsed and angry, her face flaming in embarrassment from the whole situation before she hit the man in her lap with all her might, affectively knocking him unconscious.
With an angry roar she pushed the man back towards his seat, finding it slightly difficult from the dead weight, but none the less determination lit her eyes as she affectively pushed the man back to his original position.
Away from her.
All the while Inuyasha smirked in satisfaction.
Yes this day would truly be a good day.
X-X-X-X
Black hair swung behind the very aggravated girl.
She was late.
For her first day of her new school.
`What a perfect freaken way to leave your mark.' She thought grimly as she walked down the halls towards the main office. It just so happened that the freaken school had three not one, not two, but three! Who the hell in there right mind has three bloody offices in one school.
It was bull.
All of it was, her father doing this to her, her being late on her first day of school because the stupid maid was afraid to knock on her door and she later comes to find out that the idiot was standing there debating on whether to knock or not. Now that's all fine and dandy…but waiting thirty minutes is just ridiculous. And then this bloody school has three offices. And yep, you guessed it, she had just conveniently gone to every office but the right office, it wouldn't be so bad if she didn't have to walk halfway around the school just to go to one of the offices.
Seeing the office label hanging horizontally from the ceiling in front of her, the girl turned to the door, royally pissed and hoping to all gods that this was the last of the offices that she had to go to.
One thought entered the distraught youths mind as she entered the enclosure.
This was turning out to be a very bad day.
Walking up to what she supposed was the main desk the girl cleared her throat to catch the attention of the secretary.
“Yes, can I help you?” The lady asked kindly. Keeping an emotionless face the teen replied coldly.
“I am here to get my schedule, I have been to two other offices and if I have to go to any other offices then I am just going to say screw it and go home. Do I make my self clear?”
The secretary looked slightly offended by the girls comment, but could tell by the harsh bitterness of her words that she was telling the truth.
“Umm, yes right away. Principal Kaede will be with you momentarily.”
Staring at the lady with utter hatred reflected in her eyes the teen replied, “Make it fast,” with authority in her voice that left no room for argument. Turning on her heal she made her way to the office chairs lined up on the far wall of the office and sat stiffly down, glaring at anyone who tried to make eye contact with her.
Bearing her head in her hands the girl droned out all the excess noise.
Waiting only a few moments the girls heard a door open and the shuffling of feet before she felt a presence-no matter however short it may be-before her. Looking up she came face to face with an old woman easily in her fifties and almost the legal height to be a midget.
“You must be Kagome Higurashi?” The old lady asked. Kagome merely grunted her answer her energy to drained to respond any other day.
“Well I'm principal Kaede and I will be the one that you are looking for to get your new schedule.”
Pulling a manila folder out from beneath one of her arms, that Kagome had not noticed until just now, she opened it flipped through various things and made a sound of satisfaction in the back of her throat when she had found what she was looking for. Pulling out a piece of paper she handed it to Kagome.
“This is your schedule dear, if you need any help then just ask one of the offices for assistance.” And with that the little old principal wobbled away leaving Kagome feeling more than a little pissed.
All that walking for what? A piece of paper that only took a second to give to her.
What a complete waste of her time.
Standing stiffly, Kagome made her way swiftly to her new first period class.
X-X-X-X
Finally finding the room she was looking for Kagome sighed in satisfaction.
Her day was bad, sure, but Damnit she was just wondering around and it was finally about time that she found her first period class. She just wanted to get off her feet.
Sighing in defeat she knocked on the door, hearing the muffled lecture the teacher was droning on about come to a stop before the door was swung open and an old man with problems of balding stood before her.
“What do you want?” The teacher asked gruffly only serving in making Kagome a little offended and more pissed.
“Trust me its not what I want, if I got what I wanted then I would be at home right now, getting my Highschool degree on the internet, but you know what my bastered father wants me to go to school, so hi I'm Kagome Hi-” Kagome suddenly stopped as she thought of something ingenious.
“I'm Kagome Hime and I'm officially in you class. Congratulations.”
Smiling to herself one thing went through her mind at that exact moment.
This was her chance. This was her chance to make something out of her life and not have people worship her because of her last name.
She was going to do this till the end.
After all by the time they figured out who she was, she would already be gone.
The teacher nodded as he led the girl into the room.
Hushed tones erupted and Kagome knew that they were talking about how she looked.
She wasn't stupid, she knew that she was different then everyone else, but she considered it her curse. Her perfect black hair and silver-blue eyes with her pail skin complexion-due to staying indoors half her life-was a look that everyone died for. But Kagome would kill to be rid of it.
“Class, settle down, settle down! This is are new student, Kagome Hime, please make her feel welcomed.”
More whispers erupted and Kagome fought hard to keep a scowl off her face.
She hated to be talked about.
“Kagome why don't you go and sit behind Inuyasha?” The teacher rather demanded then asked.
Kagome looked at the man as if her were truly an idiot.
How the hell was she supposed to know who Inuyana-yaha-yaba…whatever… was? It was her first day of school.
A look of understanding suddenly crossed the teachers face and he quickly blushed and said with authority, “Inuyasha raise your hand.”
Kagome saw a hand raise and she made her way to her new seat, faltering a bit when she and the boy made eye contact.
This was no boy.
This was a hanyou.
No concealment spell could hide that from her and she felt her stomach knot.
The last time that she had encountered a hanyou it wasn't a very pretty sighting, but one thing nagged at Kagome's mind.
Golden eyes.
