"I hope I'll remember which way to go…' Sango thought. ` "Between the sun and the trees there is a hidden wonder land. Rocks are large and the white mist never clears" I think I remember… it's a water fall…'

"Sango??" Kagome looked around. "kikyou??" She shook her sleeping friend.

Kikyou groaned and swatted her hand away. "5 more minutes Kaede…"

Kagome rolled her eyes. `fine… do it the hard way…' "KIKYOU!!!!!"

"KkkYYAAAAA!!!!" Kikyou jumped up and fell out of the wagon. "oooff!"

"oops…. Sorry Kikyou…. Umm…. Are you okay?? ^__^;;" Kagome helped her fellow miko stand up.

**mumble mumble** Kikyou glared at Kagome and sighed. "I'm fine… so WHY did you wake me up?? it's still dark."

"Sango's gone" Kagome said in a worried tone. "Do you think she was kidnapped? I mean… this evil spider scar youkai is out to get the shikon no tama… and Sango has it…"

Kikyou rolled her eyes. "Kagome sometimes you're to paranoid, Do you feel any evil youkai arua??"

"No…. but still…." Kagome mumbled.

"I'm sure if Sango is in danger she would have Made a lot of noise to wake us up. Remember we have two youkais and a monk to protect us." Kikyou said with a bit of sarcasm.

Inuyasha hopped into their wagon. "Oi…. Why are you girls up??"

"Kagome wake me up because Sango's gone." Kikyou lanced at Kagome.

"oh… Sango went ahead with Kirara." Inuyasha informed them. "she left half an hour ago."

"oh…. I hope she's okay…" Kagome whispered.

~|~|~|~ Some where ahead with Sango ~|~|~|~

"Kirara… Do you see a water fall anywhere??" Sango whispered into her neko's ear.

"Reeow…" Kirara roared. She and Sango flew over a large canyon.

"Oh…. I can't remember which way it is to the fort… Do you remember Kirara?? After all you've been there with mom a lot more than me." Sango smiled at the memory of her mother, Midoriko, the most powerfully miko that ever lived. "Midoriko, my mother…. I can't believe that she's really dead… it's been ten years… Ooh… I miss her… father never told me how she died…"

"reeoow.." Kirara could feel Sango's sadness and she started feeling grief once again. Midoriko was her former master, the kindest miko alive why did she have to die that way?? Why with her soul trapped in a tama with hundreds of youkai?? Why did Midoriko have to turn into the Shikon no Tama??

"Kirara…. Lets turn back.." Sango whimpered. "I just want to sleep maybe I'll remember in a dream or something…"

"reow?" Kirara blinked and looked at a swarm of youkai bees that where coming closer and closer.

"Kirara??" Sango stared at the swarm and gasped. "ki…Kirara hurry lets go! They're heading toward our camp!" Sango griped her Hiraikotsu and threw it. "Hiraikotsu!!"

The swarm of bees was cut in half as Kirara breathed fire at them killing them all.

"Good job Kirara!" Sango petted the neko and smiled.

"yes good job, both of you… I will reward you by killing you once I get the Shikon no tama…" A man wearing white baboon skin remarked as poisonous miasma was sprayed into the air by a new swarm of bees.

"Kirara!" Sango screeched as Kirara turned back into her small form and fell out of the sky. "Kirara!!" `Kirara is highly allergic to miasma! She'll….. die…….'

The baboon skin wearing man grabbed Sango and knocked her out. "finally I will have my revenge… Dearest Midoriko you're crystallized soul will help me kill the last of the true taija-ya!"

"SANGO!!" Kohaku and Sota where riding on Buyo following his sister in a safe distance. "you stay way from my sister!"

"Yea! We're taija-ya!" Sota called out and threw a gas bomb at the swarm of bees killing them.

"Well it seems that She has siblings…." He smirked. "I, Naraku will destroy all of the taija-ya!" Naraku dropped Sango and vanished.

"Sango!" Buyo roared and flew down to Kohaku and Sota caught her and they both sighed in relief. "Pheew! That was close…. How is Kirara??"

Kohaku smiled. "she'll be fine… what bout Sango do you think that monkey guy hurt her??"

Sota shook his head. "nope he just knocked her out."

Sango opened her eyes and sat up. "huh? Where… am I??" She looked around to see Sota sleeping next to Kirara and Kohaku was sitting by Buyo's head telling him the land once he sees the camp. "Kohaku??"

"Sango… are you alright??" Kohaku asked.

"I'm fine… but Kohaku how did you two get here… where you following me?!" Sango growled.

"umm… yes…" Kohaku stuttered. "and we saved you from this monkey guy called Naraku."

"you shouldn't have followed me! It's dangerous!" Sango scowled and Kohaku let his shoulders slump.

"Gomen Sango.." Kohaku sighed.

Sango smiled and hugged her brother. "but…. I guess I was lucky you guys followed me… or I would probably be dead… or kidnapped." Sango narrowed her eyes. "DON'T EVER DO IT AGAIN!!"

Kohaku winced at the volume of her voice and nodded.

"Lets go and get some sleep now.." Sango yawned as Buyo landed next the boys wagon where Shippo was sleeping soundly. "night Kohaku, Sota and Buyo." She kissed Kohaku's forehead and carried Sota into the wagon Kohaku followed.

As Sango walked to her wagon she was tackled by a very worried Kagome. "SANGO! You okay!! Kouga said he smelt your blood!! WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"umm… a youkai attacked me his name was Naraku…" Sango informed her friend and assured Kagome that she was fine. Although she left out the part where Kohaku and Sota followed her, if kagome knew… those two where as good as dead. After all when it came to being a good big sister Kagome would always OVER DO it and the boys probably would whined up grounded……. Or worse!

"Good o see you alive Sango." Inuyasha said.

"eh?? Why is that? Naraku wasn't all that strong." Sango pouted. "and I'm not all that weak!"

"Well actually Sango, Naraku was the leader of the youkai group when they went into battle." Miroku said. "Once he killed the Taija-ya miko Midoriko ten years ago he lead the youkais into war."

"Midoriko….." Sango whispered. "Then… that would mean…. That Naraku …. He… murdered my mother!!"

"eh?? Sango-chan! Your mother was Midoriko?? That greatest miko alive?!" Kagome screamed excitedly. "why didn't you ever tell me before?!"

"because….. I didn't want to I never really knew how she died and I knew if i told people my mother was Midoriko they would ask questions…. That I couldn't answer…" Sango murmured.

"oh…." Kagome replied. "sorry'

"it's okay… I'm going to sleep." Sango muttered and went into the wagon.

"errr… do you think Sango's okay??" Kouga asked.

"keh, She's strong. She'll be fine." Inuyasha smirked. "can I go to sleep now?!"

"yea… we all can sleep now." Miroku answered. "now that Sango is back and safe."

A white figure near by crackled evilly. "ooh… foolish Miroku do you think Sango will truly be safe while I'm around? I swore years ago I will kill EVERY Taija-ya, and I will, with the help of the Shikon no tama every Taija-ya will tremble in fear and the world will be ride of Taija-ya and demons will rule the land once more!! Kukukukukukukukukukukukukuukukukuuuu!!"

Kirara watched Naraku in hatred. `Why didn't Midoriko kill him ten years ago?? Keh! I guess even the greatest Taija-ya and miko have pity on youkai… perhaps that is why Midoriko and Sango keep me around. **sighs** I just hope I can protect Sango, I don't want to loose another master and friend…. If only I had a humanoid form… like Kouga and Shippo. Then I could warn her and tell her all about her mother….'

Sango tossed and turned in her sleep. She was dreaming of her mother. Suddenly Sango jumped up with wide eyes. "Ohh… my god!" She took out her diary and started scribbling stuff down. [Sango's diary- I had a horrible dream! It seemed more like and old black and white movie though. My mother was standing in front of me yelling something, but I couldn't hear what she was saying. Mother seemed to be yelling `run!' but I'm not sure there was no sound at all. A dark shadow was approaching us, i…..i think it was Naraku! He had an army of youkais with him! Mother pushed me aside as the hundreds of youkais attacked. Naraku however only watched laughing evilly. Mother…. She was killed in the battle her body was eaten by those horrible monsters…. but then they started to glow and mother's heart… it blasted out of the youkais body… killing them all in one blow. Her heart was fading away as the… the Shikon no tama appeared. Naraku looked horrified and super happy at the same time. What… does this mean?? Was it a distant memory?? Or… maybe… just a nightmare… Darn! I was hoping my dreams would show me the way to the fort! Ooh well…] Sango put down her pen and took the Shikon no tama out. "Did this really come out of Mother's heart??" Sango fingered the pinkish jewel and sighed. `I wish I could remember what happened that night. Father told me that the war between youkais and humans broke out once the demons knew that the most powerful human, Midoriko was dead. They attacked the human villages. Father said that… Midoriko, my mother …. Was killed… right in front of my little 4 year old eyes. I was in a coma for weeks because of the shock. Now…. Ten years later the war ended, Humans won…. Why is Naraku still after the Taija-ya village?? Father said that when he and mother where children they were part of a powerful village of humans living in a hidden fort, they where the Taija-ya. The best demon exterminators in the world, But after most of the taija-ya villagers where killed by a fire the few survives, my father and mother with others split up and went to other villages. They taught others the secrets of the taija-ya to the villages and that's why my village now… is so good at killing youkais… but… why did Naraku say the TRUE Taija-ya?? Is my family somehow…. Different than normal humans??' Sango groaned. "great! I think too much! My head hurts!!" Sango growled and laid back down. "Got to try to sleep!"

Kirara, who was curled up by Sango opened one of her red eyes. `poor Sango' She meowed in shock as the Shikon no tama started to glow. Out came I transparent Midoriko.

"Hello Kirara… it's been a long time." Midoriko smiled.

`Midoriko-sama!' Kirara bowed down. `it's good to see you… but how did you get here??'

The Taija-ya miko smiled. "my soul is part of the Shikon no tama remember??"

Kirara nodded. `hai… how could I ever forget?'

"Kirara I heard your wish of getting a humanoid body. I think I can help you… I may be only a soul but I stil have my powers. I will grain your wish." Midoriko said and started muttering a spell.

`wait! If you grant me a wish… won't the Shikon no tama…. Vanish??' Kirara asked.

"no, I am not using the power of the Shikon, but my powers." Midoriko answered. "Must be leaving now…. Kirara I trust you will take good care of my daughter and her brother. Right?"

Kirara nodded as her little neko from started to blur and grow into a humanoid form. "you can count on me Midoriko-sama!'

"good… Ja!" Midoriko waved and faded back into the tama.

Sango sat up and looked at Kirara. "Kirara….. oooooh my god!! Was that real!?"

A humanoid Kirara just smiled. "as real as I am! Sango-chan! I knew you weren't asleep yet!"

Sango slapped her face a few times. "wow… I'm not dreaming…. This is real!… I've been carrying my mother's soul around all this time!" Sango suddenly look drained and fell into her bed. She raised her head and said. "Kirara you can wear some of my clothes Since you have none…" She then fainted.

Kirara looked at herself and sighed. "I forgot I'm naked… darn! I don't know how to where clothes! I've been covered on fur all my life! Sango!! Teach me how to get dressed!!"

However Sango was out cold. Kirara just sighed and let her shoulders slump.

Miroku was walking past the girls wagon when she was and angel. Or so he thought. He looked into the wagon to see a youkai girl with sand colored hair and two tails ……. NAKED!! Miroku grinned and cleared his throat to get the girl's attention. "**AHEM!** Well…. Hello Miss…."

Kirara turned and saw Miroku. "eh?? Miroku! Hello! It's me Kirara, I'll explain things to you later but right now….could you show me how to wear human clothes??"

Miroku sweat dropped. "you don't now how to get dressed??"

"What do you expect?? I've been covered in fur all my life!" Kirara started to feel stupid. "whatever…. I don't need your help…" Kirara pulled out a kimono and put it on. "ha! I did it!" ^__^

"goods for you Kirara-san.. now… could you explain to me how you got that body??" Miroku asked. "I thought element Nekos didn't have humanoid forms."

~|~|~|~ In the morning ~|~|~|~

Kikyou opened her eyes and yawned. "uuughh! I think I slept on a few hundred pebbles… my body aches all over.." Kikyou blinked as she saw Kirara. "umm…. Who are you??"

Kirara sighed. `Am I going to have to explain this ten times today??' "**sigh** I'm Kirara… blah blah…"

Kouga and Inuyasha growled at each other as Miroku just shook his head in misery. "can't you guys stop arguing for ten minutes??"

"keh! HE started it!" Inuyasha growled.

"Ooh! Blame it on the Ookami! YOU stated it you baka hanyou!" Kouga gritted. "I will hurt you!!"

"Down!" Kagome yelled as she got out of the wagon with Kikyou and Kirara.

**wham**

"Kagome! Why'd you do that?!" Kouga shot her a hurt look.

"Gomen Kouga… but you deserved it." Kagome frowned. " you shouldn't pick fights with friends."

Miroku snorted. "Friends? Inuyasha and Kouga are hardly friends… more like mortal enemies…"

"Did you guys know each other before you came here??" Kagome asked.

"Sadly yes." Inuyasha muttered and glared at Kouga. "we all lived in the same area, Kouga's father and my father where… **gags** BEST friends."

Kouga nodded. "I still can't believe father made friends with a lowly Inu. **wham!**"

Inuyasha threw a rock at Kouga and growled. "Keh! It's not like I wanted my father to make friends with wimpy Ookami!"

Kouga and Inuyasha growled at each other.

Sango took out a tray of food and sighed. `are they fighting… AGAIN!?' "kikyou…. Can't you stop them??"

Kikyou walked over to her friend and shock her head. "nope… it's not really any of my business…. Although…. Kagome is doing a good job at trying to stop the fight… in my opinion…. It is impossible…"

Sango nodded. "it IS impossible to break up their fight… but still… HEY ARE GIVING ME A HEAD ACH!!" Sango grabbed her Hiraikotsu and ran to the two fighting demons. "WILL YOU GUYS SHUT UP ALREADY!!!" **wham!!** **twack** **crack** **thud** Sango huffed and glared at the two twitching youkais on the ground.

Inuyasha sat up and glared at sango and then, "Keh!"

"Good job Sango, I thought they would NEVER shut up!" Miroku grinned and gloped her. ((wait…. Is it gloped or groped… anyways… on with the story!))

Sango twitched and clobbered him with the Hiraikotsu. "time for breakfast." She gritted through her teeth.

"is it just me or is Sango in a bad mood??" Shippo asked.

Everyone gave him a blank look and walked to the kitchen wagon.

Kirara was sitting on a rock eating eggs and toast. "You know Sango it isn't their fault that they fight a lot, Inuyasha and Kouga are just opposite magnets they agree on nothing. You didn't need to pound them into the ground."

Sango nodded. "I know…. It's just…. So many things happened, half my family is dead… my mother is a crystallized jewel hanging around my neck…. And now this, you're a humanoid Kirara… I'm just drained I guess…" Sango let her shoulders slump and yawned.

Kirara put a hand on her master's shoulder and meowed. Slowly she turned back into her original little neko form and snuggled into Sango's lap purring.

Sango smiled and started petting her little pet. "I don't think I'll ever get used to you turning into a humanoid Kirara, you're just too cute when your in this form."
