Back from the Brink
I was working with my new fang; my other had never been retrieved and I hoped that Vlad had stuck it up his posterior. Totosai had outdone himself and my new fang was sleeker. The blade was shining silver that had a slight curve. The handle had been inlaid with green jade and Totosai had a great sense of humor and intricate webs in silver ghosted the hilt. I had been practicing with it in the forest around the palace compound. I did not speak of what happened in Vlad's Castle and I was determined to master all my yoki; including my uppyr ones. My time in that wretched place had truly taught me how far I had yet to come. The bastard was right and I needed to stop fighting one half of myself in favor of the other. I refused to turn into a monster and I did push away the occasional cravings for blood that had been awakened in me. I took to hunting more often and I knew all were concerned. I could not tell them how having my will subjected to another's had changed me subtly. It was like every other day since I returned and I had my daughter and sons with me now. Naraku had needed some time to recover from his merging with the jewel. I had returned the detested thing to my mother and asked her to hide it away for all time.
“We may not have any trees left if you continue on Sister.” Osamu said coming out of the gate.
“I cannot be idle Osamu. I have to master my new fang; each one is different and responds differently.” I replied in a very serious tone.
“Are you gonna name this one?” he asked.
“I had not thought about it.” I answered.
“I mated Airi.” He blurted out.
I turned and looked at him and my mouth dropped. He seemed nervous and I smiled at him. He seemed discomfited and I laughed.
“Well I assume her scent had something to do with it?” I said amused.
“Kamis how did you know?” Osamu asked shocked.
“Tsuchigumo females release their pheromones when they are interested in a male; you were the male. It was not done on purpose but it had its desired effects.” I said smirking.
“I swear I could live in the crook of her neck for eternity. Her scent makes me crazy.” He said smirking.
“Well I am sure that the other palace bitches are not happy as their favorite pastime is now mated.” I said lightly.
“I have not heard. She had to go and check on her people, they are so wide spread.” He said looking away.
“Spiders are possessive Osamu. What they think is theirs they will guard jealously.” I said.
“Speak from experience?” he asked amused.
“Naraku is only part and so much more.” I said looking up.
“Do you wish to talk?” he asked.
“No.” I said flatly.
“You have spoken nothing of your trials there.” He prodded.
“Mother put you up to this I see. I am shielding because I want privacy. I do not want Jin or Naraku right now. I do not need sheltering and all I need is time to perfect my techniques.” I said in anger.
“Hai I will leave you to your peace. We are here.” He said standing.
“I am old enough to handle my emotions.” I said sighing.
“Well you are acting a lot like Father and that is what has us worried. You usually are more fiery.” He pointed out.
“He is wise. Feelings are for private.” I said standing and ending the conversation.
I pulled my new fang and wondered if I should name it. I decided to think on it. I still had a harder time channeling and wondered if I should see the old fire youki and have him train me. The thoughts of escaping sounded appealing. I decided to go to Totosai's forge and figure out how to unleash its full potential.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
“I know not how long I will be gone but unless I can master it what is the point in having it?” I stormed to Jin.
“You are shutting me out again.” He said in anger.
“Our pup is gone and I am sorrier than I can say. I need to do this. I need the twins with you for now.” I said evenly.
“I want to hunt him down as much as you do!” Jin snapped.
“Jin, this is not about you or me for that matter. I have to master this new fang because in case I do need it in a battle; I do not need a useless katana. I also need my privacy from all.” I said staying calm.
“I feel the rage coming from you and you will not allow me to touch you.” Jin said annoyed.
“I do not want anyone's pity; not yours, my family, or Naraku. I want to be left alone. I do not want to be touched. I am having a hard time with my own pups. I want to be left alone!” I thundered.
Jin watched me and I could tell that my wants went against every instinct he had. The pup had not survived my blood loss and other trauma. I refused to be weak and succumb to turmoil. I may have been Sorami at one time but Sorami was part of me now.
“I will give you a pup. I promise but I cannot do it until I can stay in one place and not battle and war.” I said touching his cheek.
He leaned his cheek further into my touch and I stared down at him. This was all I could give at the moment. I was not cowering; I was angry.
“I do not pity you.” He said looking at me.
“Good. Tend your lands and my sons.” I said standing.
“They are my sons now Asuna. Can you let the past go?” he asked softly.
“Please tend to our sons.” I replied.
“Thank you.” He said standing.
I knew he wished to embrace me but I stood there. He bowed as did I. Things needed to be prepared and I had to face my father. My sire had a hard time facing me right now and I did not understand. I was told that he and Naraku had quite a row and I had a feeling it would happen again. I intended to keep them apart forever if I could. Jin had departed and I went to the study and found him not there. I then went to the gardens and found him under a sakura tree and he seemed to be in meditation. I turned to leave when he looked at me and motioned for me to come over.
“My Lord, I intend to seek out Totosai and unleash my fang.” I said sitting by him.
“Kumosaiga.” He said.
“What?” I asked in surprise.
“Your fang is called the Kumosaiga. I knew you would need to see him. He is expecting you.” He said.
“My fang has a name, I have moved up in the ranks of taiyouki.” I said.
“Totosai forged it from my fang as well as someone else's.” He said.
“Naraku!” I said surprised.
“Your mother retrieved it.” He said morosely.
“To quote you my Lord; your issues with him are your own and have nothing to do with me.” I said standing.
“I hate him and I will always hate him. It does not mean that I will not take the opportunity to battle him!” he said savagely.
“Hai my Lord.” I said bowing.
“I am glad you are here. I was most concerned.” He said stiffly.
I looked at my sire and I bowed to him again. He had just said in his way that he had been terribly upset and terrified. I looked up at him and I knew of all the different ones in my life that he understood how I was acting.
“Your sons I expect are with Jin?” he asked.
“Hai and Mother said she will care for Mizuki.” I said
“Best to be on your way.” He said.
“Hai.” I said as I left his presence.
Totosai worked in a volcano; I had never been there but I knew where it was. I packed a small bag of clothing and I moved on foot out of the palace. I had a stop to make in the north and I intended to see how my beloved fared.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I walked straight through the barrier and went to the castle. I could feel his aura and he was moving around. I had masked mine and went in search of him. I found him in the back of the castle seemingly practicing his own yoki. We both had been shaken it seemed.
“You could put a little more miasma and it would kill the tree.” I remarked lightly.
He looked up and just a hint of a smile ghosted his lips.
“I have something to show you. You donated a fang so I hope you will be pleased.” I said coming down the steps and into an open garden.
“What is it that I had to loose a tooth for?” he asked amused.
I pulled my new fang from its sheath and his eyes seem to gleam as he eyed the beautiful peace of metal. I showed him the hilt and he looked at me in askance.
“My fang is called Kumosaiga.” I said smirking.
“This is what she needed my fang for?” he asked surprised.
“Why do you think it is called a fang? Apparently Totosai wished for your contribution to the blade as well.” I said lightly.
“You are leaving.” He stated with a scowl.
“Hai. I have been unable to unleash it yet. Totosai is the maker and therefore he can instruct me. He taught Uncle Yasha how to use the Tetsaiga. That was when you removed my grand sire's claw from Ryukotsusei.” I said.
He groaned at the mention of freeing the dragon.
“You were not aware; you were obsessed with the Shikon.” I stated firmly.
“I would have dispatched him myself if I had known. I truly wish that the damn ningen had never laid eyes on Kikoyo.” He snorted in anger.
“It is the past.” I said trying to calm him.
“I regret if it indirectly hurt you.” He sighed.
“I know that there have been things that I have done that could be construed as hurting you.” I said with a shrug.
“What happened was not your doing!” he said in a snarl.
“I cannot forgive my weakness. I have done nothing but be weak. No more!” I said in a fury.
“Asuna.” He said softly.
“I have to go.” I said standing.
He stood with me and pulled me to him. I fought him but he held onto me.
“You are not weak but you need the time to strengthen what you need to. I am here for all of us.” He said softly.
“You are too kind.” I said stiffly.
“You know damn well that I am a selfish creature.” He said with a soft growl.
“I will see you as soon as I am able. When you feel up to it; my mother can bring you our daughter.” I said.
“Oh I will take care of retrieving my own daughter.” He said darkly.
“Naraku, my father is ready to take you on at any moment.” I warned.
He grinned and I shook my head. I sheathed my fang and he pressed two fingers to my lips. My heart did a leap but I forced myself to leave. I went to where I knew I could exorcise my own inner youki.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
“I swear to the Kamis old man that I would love to make you carry me!” I seethed as I carried Totosai up the side of a mountain.
“Quit complaining young Lady! Your Uncle Inuyasha did this, I think!” Totosai said a little confused.
“Good Kami old man it is a wonder you have survived this long!” I snarled under my breath.
“The Great Inu no Taisho listened to me!” he said puffing up his chest.
“Please do not speak to me of my grand sire or grand mere ever!” I snapped.
“They are part of who you are young Lady! Do not dismiss the great Taisho!” he said.
I rolled my eyes and continued up the trail. I was burning up and had to modify my haori and hakamas. My haori had no sleeves and had been bared at my midriff. My hakamas I had shortened to above my knees. Totosai refused to tell me what the Kumosaiga could do and bid me figure it out for myself.
“There is no Ryukotsusei for me to slay this time.” I mumbled.
“What was that?” he said straining to hear.
“There are no dragons for me to slay.” I said loudly.
“No there is no Ryukotsusei. Do you wish to slay a dragon?” he asked surprised.
“Hai I do not much like dragons.” I said smirking.
“The Taisho killed most of them.” He said with a far away look.
“Hai I know. Did you know Sorami?” I asked all of a sudden.
“Hai I knew of her. The Taisho used to sit with me and drink sake. He would lament of her demise. He blamed himself and hated Ryukotsusei with such intensity.” He answered.
“He had abandoned her Totosai. He was all she had left of her family and he left her!” I snapped.
“He made mistakes young Lady. He was great because he learned from those mistakes.” He said.
I continued to trudge up the hill and pondered his words. I sighed and he indicated that he wished to sit. I lowered myself and he climbed off my back.
“You are angry at your grand sire for why?” he asked looking at me squarely.
“It matters not.” I said looking away.
“Hai it does if it matters to you.” He said wisely.
“I have reincarnated. I WAS Sorami. I know what she felt and it disgusts me that all these youki hold him in veneration!” I snarled.
“You died before he could mature. He changed.” Totosai said.
“Tell that to my restless soul; if I saw him I would tell him what a son of whore he really was!” I said furiously.
“What are you angrier at young Lady? Her tragedies or you unable to prevent history from repeating?” he stated.
“I have to live with my failures Totosai but it is hard when I remember too much. I should never have recovered them.” I said looking away.
“You wish to talk with the Taisho?” he asked.
“That is impossible. He has been dead for almost four hundred years.” I said shaking my head.
“It should also be impossible to go back and save a previously dead hanyou.” He said arching a brow.
“Touché. Speaking of the hanyou; why did you need his fang?” I asked.
“You will see.” He smirked.
“Hn.” I grumbled.
“Just like your father. Do you wish to speak with your grandsire?” he asked.
“Actually hai.” I said crossing my arms.
“Natsumi can help you.” He said.
I groaned at the idea of meeting my grand mere. It was speculated if she drove Touga away or she became the harpy she was because of him.
“Something to do with the MeidÅ-Seki?” I asked.
“Not sure. I do know she can help you on this.” He said standing.
“I take it we are going back up the mountain?” I said with hands on my hips.
“Hai young Lady.” He said climbing on my back.
“What is my lesson?” I asked irritated.
“Patience and forgiveness.” He mumbled.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I stood at the entrance to a castle that had been built for my grand mere. It was off the main island and a little ways out in the Sea of Japan. I lifted my chin and there was a grey inu soldier. I looked at him and he recognized my crest.
“My Lady!” he said bowing.
“Inform Lady Natsumi that the Heir to the West is here.” I said very informally.
“Hai my Lady!” he said.
He was gone for a few minutes and I was allowed to enter the castle. She was the former Lady of the West and had to be treated with a modicum of decorum. I followed the grey and we went up a large flight of steps and came into an inner court yard.
“My Lady.” He said bowing.
I stared at the inu female and saw a striking resembalance to my father. Her hair was more white than silver and she had the crescent moon. She bore one stripe on each cheek and had large gold eyes. She had bangs and her hair was pulled back and up. She wore the most current finery and I wanted to roll my eyes; she was the perfect definition of a palace bitch.
“I am Asuna.” I said with a stiff bow.
She looked over me to see if I resembled my mother I supposed. It was no great secret she had opposed my father's mating.
“Thank the Kamis you look like Sesshomaru.” She said staring at me.
“My Lady I will not beat around the bush; Totosai sent me to you. I have a need to possibly speak with your former mate.” I said tonelessly.
“You will tell me of yourself first. It is quite odd that Sesshomaru would make a female his heir.” She said haughtily.
I flared my yoki and pressed it down upon her. She looked at me surprised and I smirked.
“So you are the most powerful. How many brats has my ungrateful son produced?” she said narrowing her magnificent eyes.
“I am one of four.” I said.
“Been busy has he not? Goodness why in Kamis name would you wish to speak with the Taisho?” she asked annoyed.
“Sorami.” I said flatly.
“Well, well, well. This is interesting. I can open a window but you have to return yourself.” She said giggling.
“Window to where?” I said.
“The past. The MeidÅ-Seki has already been used.” She said shrugging.
“I have no wish to change the past.” I said.
“Touga is not stupid. He knew this thing he gave me would possibly be used. I expected Sesshomaru, not a pup of his.” She said looking at me.
“Who drove who away?” I asked.
“It was never about love. I was to give him an heir was all. We lusted for a little while.” She said looking up.
“How sad for you.” I said staring at her.
“You mated for love? My you are a stupid girl.” She said haughtily.
I slapped her and she stared at me in absolute hatred.
“Watch how you speak to me, I am your better.” I said pointing a claw at her nose.
“You would not exist if I were not around.” She snarled.
“Everyone would be thrilled if you were not. You are an added expense to the West's accounts that we could do without!” I said in a very nasty tone.
“You are just like my hateful son!” she snapped.
“I am my father's daughter. You care only what your pup could do for you and your prestige. We are a close family and Inuyasha actually stays within the Palace walls!” I sneered.
“Do you wish to go or not?” she snapped.
“Hai.” I snapped back.
“Remember I cannot bring you back.” She said harpishly.
“Wonderful! I will not have to see you again!” I said sarcasticlly.
There was an octagon shaped amulet on her neck and she removed it. She threw it against the floor and it shattered; a barely visible ripple was visible.
“How far does it go back?” I asked.
“I truly do not know. I assume you can mask your scent and aura?” she asked
“Hai, exceptionally well. Will he believe me?” I asked.
“Let him scent you, that is all he will need.” She answered.
I lifted my chin and walked through the ripple.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I was an area truly not far from the Western Lands. I recognized several landmarks but the trees were smaller. I masked myself and moved along. I needed to grasp the time frame and find my grandsire. I heard a great deal of noise and stomping around and I jumped up into a tree. I scented the air and I scented inu; it seemed familiar but I could not place it. I looked down and there was a black inu hunting an elk.
“Tekeshi!” I murmured.
The great black inu looked around hearing his name and I cursed under my breath. He could not scent me and he started growling. The rate he was going he was going to tear down the tree.
“Back off!” I yelled.
The emerald eyed inu looked up into the tree and tried to locate me exactly. I barked at him in inu telling him the same thing. He changed form and I saw Katashi's father in the flesh. He favored his son but his jaw was not as square and his eyes were more slanted.
“How come I cannot sense you?” he asked up into the tree.
“Go away!” I snarled.
“I can and will come up there.” He threatened.
“Damn! Damn! Damn!” I cursed.
He looked up into the thick foliage and heard me curse. He smirked and I pretty much knew he figured out I was an inu bitch.
“Why do you hide?” he asked.
“I swear to the Kamis, I said go away!” I snapped.
I heard nothing and I mentally calculated that this had to be within a hundred years of Sorami's death. Tekeshi had moved on to Manchuria very soon. A hand grabbed my neck and I went wild. I thrashed and gouged flesh with my claws.
“Damn you!” I heard him curse.
I jumped down and moved fast into the forest. He was on my heels and I cursed the damn Kamis again for their lack of finesse. He grabbed an ankle and pulled me roughly and I hit the ground squarely. The wind was knocked out of me and he looked amused. There was too strong of a family resembalance for him not to know that I belonged to the Taisho's house. I rolled over and stared at him with my gold-brown eyes. He looked in utter shock and stared down at me; he had been straddling my waist and I raised my claws and they glowed green with my Dakkasou.
“I suggest you get off of me or I will melt your male parts right off of you!” I growled.
He stood up and continued to stare. I sat up and glared at him.
“Close your mouth and quit bulging you eyes; you look like a fool.” I said standing.
I dusted off my red haori and hakamas. I looked at him and he did seem to have problems speaking. I shrugged and moved in the direction of the Western Palace.
“Who are you?” he finally asked.
“That is really none of your concern. Your dinner got away.” I said arrogantly.
He moved closer as if he was seeing a ghost. I realized he must have had some feelings for Sorami, but I was not here to indulge him. I could not fault him too much because I did favor her.
“I am a friend and guest of the Western Lord. You bear a resembalance to someone I knew.” Tekeshi said.
“Lord Tekeshi, I do not have time nor the inclination to satisfy your curiosity. Where is the Inu no Taisho?” I asked.
I noticed Tekeshi was very open and very friendly; he had passed that trait onto his son. I decided to be cold as possible and put him off as I had done to Katashi originally.
“Last I saw Touga was in the palace.” He said.
“Thank you. I am sorry to have disturbed your dinner.” I said bowing stiffly.
“Who in Kamis name are you? You are like no female I have met and you are masking your scent as if you are a taiyouki.” He said astonished.
“I am a taiyouki. I could best you in an instant! Never underestimate me.” I said nastily.
“You need a way in. Touga's soldiers will not exactly allow a stranger in.” he offered.
“Nosey bugger.” I mumbled.
He looked at me and I nodded. I kept a tight lip and followed him up the familiar trek to my ancestral home. When we reached the top of the hill I saw a mostly built palace. The wing where my chambers were had not been finished. My grandsire must have driven the dragons back some. We entered the compound and many inu males were obviously gawking. Females did not run around in battle wear. I lifted my chin and followed Tekeshi and he brought me straight to Touga. The Inu no Taisho was in full armor and his long silver hair was pulled back. He wore a white haori and hakamas that were edged in blue. In the flesh he rivaled my father in stature and power. He looked up and nearly dropped the scroll he was holding. Everyone in the courtyard stared at me and I waited for him to speak.
“What the?” he asked in surprised.
“Lord Touga. I seek a private audience with you.” I said tonelessly.
“Who are you? I know all the silver inu.” He said narrowing his eyes.
“My name is unimportant at the moment.” I said trying to stay calm.
“It is if you want to speak with me. Why can I not scent you?” he asked.
“Lord Touga does the name Sorami mean anything to you?” I asked very softly.
He grabbed my arm roughly and dragged me into what I recognized as the study.
“Who are you?” he demanded angrily.
“I know you are not the most open minded male out there but try and follow along.” I said coldly.
He stared at me as if I had lost my mind and growled.
“Down boy.” I said narrowing my eyes.
“Who are you and by the Kamis you had better answer me.” He demanded.
“Hn.” I muttered.
He reached over to his obi and grabbed his katana. He swung it down and I had pulled my fang and blocked his attack. He saw the spider web motif on the hilt and dropped his blade.
“Are you a phantom?” he asked.
I lifted my mask and allowed him to scent me. He moved closer as if not believing his nose and scented my juncture. He stepped back and stared angrily.
“What manner of sorcery is this? You scent as a relative.” He demanded.
“I am a relative. I want to know what you have done to avenge Sorami.” I said in a sudden fury.
“I do not speak that name.” he said furiously.
My feelings were clouded and I went into a rage. My spirit was not settled at all like I thought it was. Naraku had at least been honest about his. I slapped his handsome face as hard as I could.
“If I remember correctly; it was I who told you to banish me BROTHER!” I snarled.
“Sorami?” he asked in a state of total surprise.
“In a manner of speaking. You abandoned me to complete strangers and now Ryukotsusei still lives. You still seek power Touga?” I asked.
“Sorami your dead!” he said emphatically.
“I have reincarnated; I am Asuna now.” I said sitting.
“Why do you torment me?” he asked in a strange tone.
“Because you had the strength to save me. You have not avenged me and you told my chosen mate that he dishonored me and himself when it was you who had done the dishonoring!” I snarled.
“I am sorry! I was wrong Sister. I cannot change what happened but I have prayed everyday for your forgiveness!” He stated softly.
“Well I thought I could but it seems I still have issues.” I snorted.
Touga actually laughed at my impertinent statement and stared at me. He truly felt bad and I was having a hard time staying angry.
“Why have I not seen you before? Where are you from.” He asked.
“You really want to know?” I asked.
“Hai.” He answered.
“Are you mated yet?” I asked.
“Just.” He answered.
Oh fate truly did love her jokes. I rolled my eyes and then looked at him.
“Your pup she carries is my father.” I said flatly.
His eyes widened and he sat back. His face betrayed his emotions and I kept mine neutral as my own sire had taught me.
“So I am to have a son.” He said smiling.
“I would not smile too much; I end up being a pain in his back side.” I said smirking.
“You are my grand pup now but you were my sister.” He said
“Hai.” I said genuinely smiling.
“I will hunt down Ryukotsusei for murdering you and Lord Hisashi. He has gained much power.” He said looking away.
“I just wanted to know even though I had said to forget me, I was angry and felt betrayed. I loved Hisashi and he loved me. We were cheated.” I said closing my eyes.
“I thought that I had to rebuild the West and you would understand. I never meant to leave you for so long.” He said looking at me.
“I am not weak in this life. I have yoki and I will further my own abilities.” I said softly.
“Forgive me but why would my son allow you to run around dressed as such?” he asked.
“Because he trained me himself. I know you have already picked his name. My father Sesshomaru is wise and knows that the one who has the power has the mantle.” I said smugly.
“I must be dead if you speak as such.” He said softly.
“I am sorry I should not have come.” I said standing.
“Sorami, Asuna I mean please stay a little while longer. What of Hisashi?” he asked.
“He and I are together again.” I said sitting.
“Then it is as it should be.” He said sitting back.
“Hai.” I said.
“Can you tell me just a little of yourself?” he asked.
“You have to understand that I can change things if I have already not done so.” I said carefully.
“I am not unintelligent.” He snapped.
I glanced at him as if to say that I knew better than that and he snapped.
“Alright what do you want to know?” I asked.
“You are the heir?” he asked intrigued.
“Hai.” I said.
“Is the West prosperous?” he asked.
“Very. What you started my father had consolidated.” I answered.
“Are you an only pup?” he inquired.
“No. I am one of four.” I replied.
“I see. I am happy. Is my son happy?” he asked concerned.
I smirked and nodded yes.
“Tell me just a little.” He said intrigued.
“He mated my mother for love.” I said smiling.
“Well at least someone will.” He answered absently.
“You and Natsumi are a political match?” I asked.
“Hai. She is pleasant to look at but I promise she is manipulative bitch.” He snorted.
“I have met her.” I said grimacing.
“She is still that bad?” he asked with a laugh.
“Hai. Father hates to be around her.” I smirked.
“Most of the time so do I.” he laughed.
“I have missed you Touga.” I said in a strange voice.
“I miss you every day Sorami.” He said sadly.
I stood up and walked to the window and looked out at the construction. It was familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. I closed my eyes and felt calm. The memories of Vlad and other events seemed so very far away.
“You are pained, why?” he asked coming to stand next to me.
“Many things. I almost wish I could stay here, but I miss my own pups.” I said.
“How many?” he asked putting a hand on my shoulder.
“Three. I have identical twin boys and a daughter. They are named Hiroto, Kazuo, and Mizuki.” I said.
“Tell me what pains you.” He demanded softly.
“Touga there is too much. I am sorry I cannot call you my grandsire…I see you as my brother.” I said.
“I cannot see you as a grand pup either. You are a handsome onna Asuna. Tell me of your mate?” he asked.
“Mates.” I said smirking.
“More than one? How do you manage?” he asked intrigued.
“I am mated to Hisashi's reincarnate and another inu lord.” I said sheepishly.
“Very interesting. Inu from where?” he asked.
“Touga!” I said warning him.
“I will not say a word. I have my sister back sort of.” He said shaking his head.
“Panyu.” I said.
I looked at the Taisho and he seemed surprised.
“I thought they were just a rumor.” He commented.
“No very much a reality. Their lord is how I shall say; domineering.” I replied.
“Why are you mated to him then?” he asked.
“I do love him. Are you telepathic?” I asked him.
“Not that I know of.” He said staring into my eyes.
“Close your eyes.” I commanded.
I touched his face and I brushed his mind. His eyes flew open and I knew he was perceptive to it.
-Close your eyes dolt. - I commanded in thought.
He closed his eyes and I showed him very brief images of different events. I remembered just thoughts mostly but I shared some of my pain; he saw Sheng's death and I withdrew. His eyes opened and he lifted my chin.
“I am sorry.” He whispered.
“I have moved on I think. I am only half inu.” I replied.
“You look full inu, how can this be?” he asked of me.
“I mean that I am half inu. My father mated a different kind of youki.” I stated.
“I would not have known. You look like a silver inu.” He replied.
“Touga I have a need to train and try and unleash my fang. You are a superior swordsman.” I said looking at him.
“Of course!” he responded.
“May I stay here until I find my way home?” I asked him.
“You will need to stay outside of the palace. I have a small residence set up at the old castle sight.” He said.
“Just out of curiosity, Natsumi would be jealous of me would she not?” I asked.
“Hai. Ever since she was pupped she has become worse!” he snapped.
“Do you think that maybe she loves you?” I asked.
“Hell no! She loves the prestige and I require her to behave.” He said growling.
“I am sorry you do not love her.” I said sadly.
“Sister, I have that taken care of. Do not worry on that account.” He said smiling.
“You mean you have many lovers?” I asked.
“I have one. I care for her.” He said uncomfortably.
“Love Sesshomaru. He is exceptional.” I said.
“I will love my own pup!” he snapped.
“I understand.” I said looking away.
There was a knock on the shoji door. The Taisho called for whomever to enter and there stood Tekeshi.
“Touga is everything alright?” he asked.
“Hai it is very well. Tekeshi this is Asuna.” He said introducing me.
I stiffened but I bowed formally. Tekeshi continued to stare and I narrowed my eyes.
“Lord Tekeshi if you cannot quit staring I can remove your magnificent eyes.” I said with a growl.
“Tekeshi could you please escort the Lady Asuna to my hunting lodge?” he asked.
“Hai my friend.” He said bowing.
Touga kissed my hand and he bowed. I bowed back and winked at him. He genuinely smiled and I left with Tekeshi.
“How do you know Touga?” he demanded.
“I do not have to answer to you!” I snapped.
“You look like her! You mentioned her name.” Tekeshi said accusingly.
“I know not of what you speak!” I said narrowing my eyes.
“I know not where you are from but by the Kamis I would know Sorami!” he said accusingly.
“Stop it!” I said to him.
“I loved her. I loved her more than my life; I wanted to see her happy after what the dragons did. I died that day.” He said stopping.
“Lord Tekeshi, my name is Asuna and not this Sorami. I am sorry for your loss.” I said stiffly again.
“I am not a fool onna. You are not her physically but you bear her soul. You are Sorami and she is you.” He said stepping back.
“You forget yourself.” I said dangerously.
He glared at me and I went in the direction of the old castle site. He followed after me and I heard his breathing increase slightly. I had not really seen all of Sorami's memories from her whole life but I was sure they could be jogged. There was obviously a history that I had no intention of rekindling. It took all of ten minutes to reach his hunting lodge as Touga called it. I could imagine that he had meetings here with his lover.
I knew of a spring nearby and I saw spare yukatas. I stripped my armor and laid my fang down on a low table. I stood there and waited for Tekeshi to leave.
“You have escorted me and now you can leave.” I said frigidly.
“Answer me.” He asked in a pained voice.
“I cannot help you Lord Tekeshi.” I said flatly.
His eyes were filled with pain and I felt for him. My fate seemed to be connected to a couple of families and I did not need to complicate it any further. I looked at him and my features softened a little.
“I can deduce the truth. I know you are masking your scent and aura but I have not seen Touga that happy in nearly a century.” He said coming closer.
“Lord Tekeshi I cannot help you. I am sorry for your pain but I am here for meditation and training from the Taisho. Again I am sorry that I am not who you wish me to be.” I said bowing.
“You lie.” He said stiffly.
I moved to a dividing screen and removed my clothes and put on a yukata. I stepped out and went to the door.
“I have to keep things quiet Lord Tekeshi but I am not who you think I am.” I said as I left for the spring.
“You lie. Why have you come to this place? Why do you torment us?” he asked of me.
I grew angry and turned on him and grabbed his throat. My eyes had bled red and looked at him furiously.
“Do not presume anything with me. I am me and no one else and my actions have nothing to do with you.” I said with a growl.
“You are a very strong bitch. Why do you deny the truth?” he asked.
I let go of his throat and went on my way. I was working my silver hair out of its braid and it fell in waves down my back. I was tired and I needed to figure out how to get back. I had a few options but some rest would do me good. I heard him and I whirled on him.
“I am going to bathe and I do not need company.” I snapped.
“You are a bitch alone and should not be out here alone.” He snapped back.
I grew my whip and decimated a tree behind him. He looked unimpressed and I glared at him.
“You are a taiyouki big deal.” He said crossing his arms over his chest.
“Lord Tekeshi I do not need your presence. I am over a century old and quite capable of giving myself a bath.” I said sarcasticlly.
“Unmask your scent.” He demanded.
“You do not know me.” I said firmly.
“Then unmask it.” He dared me.
I sighed and unmasked my scent and he drew closer. He too scented the juncture of my neck and almost buried his nose into my hair.
“I am not her.” I said trying to stay very stoic.
“You belong to Touga's line.” He said looking at me.
Forbidden memories assaulted me of Katashi and actually of Sorami and Tekeshi in passionate kisses. I was confused and it must have shown on my face.
“I do not need you to guard me as you now know I am of his family.” I said looking away.
“You were Sorami. I knew her most of her life and I know her aura. You share some of that same one.” He said.
“Fine! I was the Lady Sorami but I barely remember you. I remember her death and the time right before when she mated Hisashi.” I said flatly.
“You remember the end but there was a beginning. I was happy for her when she found happiness with the Tsuchigumo Lord Hisashi but I never stopped loving her.” He said looking down.
“I cannot do this.” I said backing away.
“Why are you here?” he asked again in that pained voice.
“Because my own life is paralleling hers and I need some kind of closure. I am tired and I am tired of being hunted.” I said sinking down in front of a tree.
“How can you find closure for your life from hers?” he asked.
“I cannot explain that. It is enough that Touga knows. I really must insist you leave.” I said shaking my head.
“I have hurt every day since she died. Now you are here and I am at a loss.” He said staring at me.
“You will love again. You will be happy.” I said looking away.
“You know of me then.” He stated.
“Hai. I know that you are a kind and benevolent lord. I know those you rule love and admire you.” I said closing my eyes.
“How do you know all this?” he demanded.
“I have been to your lands; I have seen the results of your rule.” I said.
“Why can you not look at me.” He demanded again.
“Because you too remind me of someone.” I lamented.
“You do not know me personally.” He stated in understanding.
“No. I have never met you before this day.” I stated.
“You know a relative; a pup of mine?” he asked.
“Do not ask any more. I will not betray more information.” I said firmly as I stood.
“I am having a hard time reconciling who you are.” He stated.
“I am Sorami and myself Lord Tekeshi.” I said heading back to the spring.
He again came up behind me and turned me around. He lifted my chin and again memories assaulted me.
“Do not be so familiar.” I said weakly.
“Who is it that you know.” He asked softly.
“Your son.” I said in a whisper.
“I am to have a son.” He said in surprise.
“I have said too much.” I said harshly.
“I need to feel your lips.” He demanded lightly.
“Tekeshi no” I said again harshly.
“Grant me this and allow me to move on.” He said softly.
I nodded numbly and he lowered his lips to mine. It was a gentle pressure at first and turned more passionate and desperate. His lips were like liquid fire and I opened my lips and his tongue massaged mine. I groaned into the kiss; one hand held the back of my head gently and the other fisted in my silver hair. My own reached up and held the sides of his face. I let a single digit massage an ear. It was becoming heated too quickly and I pulled away. My chest was heaving with feelings not my own; I shut my eyes to try and stop the floodgate.
“She was promised to you and Mizuchi came. Touga needed you to help him restore his lands and she ended up falling in love with Hisashi.” I said in horror.
“Hai.” He said softly.
“Your own lands have been broken apart.” I continued.
“Hai.” Came his response.
I put my hands to my temples and rubbed them. I moved away again and went in the direction of the spring. He still followed me and I wanted to scream.
“Tekeshi what now?” I asked.
“I told you; you cannot bathe unguarded.” He said stubbornly.
“I swear what is it with the Kamis damned males of this era?” I snapped.
“Bitches are unguarded in your era?” he asked surprised.
“We can even pick up a katana and protect ourselves!” I said in sarcasm.
“Still it is uncommon here and Ryukotsusei is still alive.” He said absently.
“Fine but you will keep your back to me.” I demanded.
“Hai.” He responded.
I made it to the spring and I looked over my shoulder. He kept his face forward and I slipped the yukata off. The water was warm and I held back my sigh.
“You can turn around if you wish. I am covered by the water.” I said softly.
My neck was covered in small scars and some were very recent ones from Vlad. My face scowled remembering what happened and I gripped a rock that crushed under the pressure. He would be alive in this time but there was no reason why he would think anything about Japan.
“Something is bothering you.” He commented.
“It is of no consequence.” I said in a dark tone.
“You are not full inu.” He remarked.
“I am half inu and half uppyr.” I said sighing.
“That is a mystical creature!” he said surprised
“Oh I assure they are quite real.” I said laughing bitterly.
“That is what is bothering you.” He observed.
“You have an uncanny ability of reading me.” I said annoyed.
“I knew Sorami most of her life.” He retorted.
“Well the uppyr feed from ningen and youki alike. I was food for one particular uppyr who had more strength than I.” I said surprising myself at talking about it.
“I am sorry.” He remarked.
“No matter.” I said dismissing it.
“It has shaken you.” He remarked.
“Are you an empath?” I demanded.
He grinned at me and I realized that he indeed was one. I narrowed my eyes and knew that Katashi was a blank on all psi abilities.
“Must be quite the boon in the rutting department.” I snapped.
“I am not promiscuous.” He snapped back.
I snorted and laughed in bitterness. Katashi had not learned that lesson. I could have handled anything except him having rutted with Jing and producing a pup.
“My pup has hurt you badly.” He remarked.
“You can shield so do it. My feelings are mine.” I snarled.
“How am I supposed to shield?” he asked annoyed.
I rolled my eyes and turned so that my back faced him. He saw more bite marks and the impalement scar in my lower back,
“What in the seven hells do you do with your time?” he demanded.
“I am a warrior Tekeshi. Battles have scars; I have just seen quite a few battles the last few years.” I remarked.
“You are a strange onna.” He retorted.
“Hand me the yukata.” I commanded
“You are used to commanding anyone.” He commented as he handed me the yukata.
“Hai I am! I have led small armies and my people know and respect me!” I replied.
“Well it shall be a pleasure to see your prowess.” He said smirking.
“You are challenging me?” I asked in surprise.
“Why not?” he asked back.
I stepped out of the spring with damp skin and the cotton clung but it could not be helped. I moved back to the lodge with haste. He followed again and I smirked back at him.
“Alright. I will get dressed and I will join you.” I said.
He seemed pleased at the prospect and I made it to the lodge and found my haori and hakamas. I went behind the screen and dressed. I stepped out and went to my armor and slipped it on. It was made of youki bone and leather. I tied it in place and I grabbed my fang. It occurred to me what Totosai had said about patience and forgiveness. I wondered if that is why he suggested I come back. I met Tekeshi outside and I fell into a battle stance. Even though I still had yet to see the extent of my fang's abilities; I was still very good with a blade.
“That is a beautiful weapon.” He remarked.
“It is called the Kumosaiga.” I said proudly.
“It radiates of a tsuchigumo and inu.” He said in a sour tone.
“Hai it does. My sire had it commissioned for me.”
“It looks like one of Totosai's.” he commented.
“It is.” I replied.
He drew his own fang and I recognized it. I recognized the gold and onyx handle and I grinned.
“You know my blade?” he said surprised.
“Hai I know it.” I smirked.
He moved against me and I blocked with mine and the metal clang that was heard was quite loud. I shoved him off and back flipped to get away from him. He whirled on me and I had to block it to the side that put me at an awkward angle. I pushed up and that forced him back. I jumped up and came down hard and he had to block. I jumped back and rushed him and blades clashed with a loud clang. I smirked at him and he shoved me back. I fell back into a battle stance and watched him carefully. He moved quickly and swiped low. I had to block it by angling my fang low and he shoved me backwards and I landed on my rear. I rolled and jumped up quickly. I brought my weapon and with tremendous strength and I struck his blade and it fell from his hands. He had to move back and he caught it. I was impressed but he went on the offensive and aggressively struck blow after blow. He was a magnificent fighter but I blocked every single one. I could tell he was determined to best me. We circled each other and he struck low and actually nicked me. I looked up annoyed and struck forcefully and he was blocking with a lot of strength and threw me off and I missed my footing and fell flat on my back. I was fixing to move but he pounced and straddled my hips.
“I win.” He said smirking smugly.
“I suppose you did.” I said narrowing my eyes.
He pulled my haori up and I glared at him and gave him a warning growl. He exposed the nick in my skin. He moved off my hips and lowered his tongue to the small wound and licked it. I suppressed a groan and he looked at me with clouded eyes.
“You are a direct blood relative of Touga's.” he said as his lips hovered over the almost healed wound.
“Tekeshi…” I warned.
He licked my skin again and my eyes fluttered shut. He looked like Katashi but he was so different from his son. I could only assume that centuries would change him. He placed an open mouth kiss over the newly healed skin and I had to moan. He pulled away and sat back.
“Who are you?” he asked softly.
“Tekeshi!” I said again in warning.
“Answer the damn question!” he growled softly.
“I am Touga's grand pup. I am his sister in spirit.” I murmured.
He perused my form and he was on me in an instant. He laid me back and plundered my mouth. I moaned against him and his hands fisted in my silver mane. His lips feverishly placed kisses along my jaw and throat.
“Tekeshi what are you doing?” I asked hoarsely.
“I do not know.” He managed.
“I am mated.” I whispered.
His lips were nipping at mine and I suppressed another groan. I arched my neck and he lips were caressing and licking along it. I could not stop the flood of feelings and memories. I cried out as his lips scorched my skin.
“Tekeshi please.” I asked trying to calm the passions coursing through us both.
He pulled away and stared at me with not just lust. I was surprised and grabbed my fang and stood up. He had honored my request and stood himself.
“Tekeshi.” I said softly.
“I understand.” He said grabbing his own fang and sheathing it.
“Do not be cross.” I begged.
“I apologize for my behavior; I am not a lecher.” He said as he started to walk away.
“I did not accuse you of that! You remember Sorami and loved her. I am not truly her! I have become someone else. She cared for you too; I know she did but tragedy took place.” I said following him.
“You are more like her then you want to admit. It is killing me; you scent like her too.” He said in a strained voice.
“The dragons took much from you.” I commented.
“I allowed it. I let hatred consume me when they stormed through my lands. I left my betrothed just like Touga did. I allowed her to fall in love with someone else thinking that she would someday come to her senses. When I saw her with the tsuchigumo lord after their deaths I knew she had truly loved him. I cannot be like Touga and mate for land and power.” He said looking past me.
“You will love again; I know that you will.” I said.
“Hai I am sure.” He said walking further away.
“You let your sister mate an ookami did you not?” I asked.
“Hai. She loved him and it will keep some of our lands within our family.” He replied.
“I am sorry I cannot be her. I am sorry that you lost so much because of Mizuchi and Ryukotsusei.” I said coming closer.
“I do not need pity. I was stupid and deserve my fate.” He said walking on further.
The way we were headed was in the direction of the palace. I grabbed his arm and he turned to me. My heart felt heavy and depressed. He was one of the most honorable inu that I had met. I was thinking like an onna again and not with common sense.
“I wish you would not feel so my Lady. I feel your anguish for me and it truly is not necessary. I am usually not so forceful. I again apologize for my deplorable behavior.” He said bowing.
When he straightened I moved to him and pulled him down and brushed my lips against his. He moaned and wrapped his arms around me and started returning the gentle caress with passionate ardor. My chest felt heavy and we were going to end up rutting if I did not stop. I ran my hands through his black hair. Again he started kissing my neck; I could not stop the light growling that escaped my mouth. I closed my eyes and gathered up my common sense.
“Let me make love to you.” He whispered in my ear.
“Tekeshi, I cannot. “ I whispered back.
“Your mate does not exist yet. Technically you are not bound.” He said smoothly.
“I would know. There are other reasons and I cannot explain.” I said pulling away.
I went in the direction of the hunting lodge and I heard him hit a tree. I felt terrible but I could not lead him on. He stormed off and I went into the lodge and sat down. I felt Touga's aura within a half hour. He came into the small dwelling and I looked at him.
“Tekeshi came back in a fury. Care to explain?” he asked.
“There is nothing to explain. He bested me in a spar and I was cross.” I said flippantly.
“I might believe that if I did not know how he felt about Sorami.” He answered as he sat across from me.
“Touga spare me, ok?” I said in anger.
“Why do you not explain?” he asked calmly.
“I was mated to his son! He betrayed me and I see Tekeshi?” I snarled.
“How did he betray you?” he asked curiously.
“He had a son from a fuck he had. I am the heir to the Western Lands and I have the exact status as any Lord. I was pupped and my pup would not have inherited his lands.” I said bitterly.
“What happened to that pup?” he asked gently.
I stood and pulled up my haori a little and revealed the circular scar on my lower abdomen. He saw it and grimaced. I sat down and looked miserable.
“My father was furious as was I. Like I told his son; you can deny the mother but not the pup.” I said looking at a point over his head.
“I understand. His son sounds nothing like Tekeshi at all.” Touga observed.
“He is but he is not. He is powerful and he knows he is highly desirable.” I said blushing.
“He is a cad.” Touga smirked.
“Hai.” I replied.
“He is nothing like Tekeshi. My friend and ally has not rutted in the century since her demise.” He said sadly.
I looked shocked and understood his actions from earlier. Again I felt for him but I was not here to form an attachment with someone I would never see again.
“I cannot replace her for him Touga. I cannot be the same onna I was. I have a past so to speak. I have wrought myself and my family so many problems and I need the time to gather my bearings.” I explained.
“What happened so recently that has you so torn asunder?” he demanded.
“My mother's people have a leader who is very powerful and very old. Right now he is about a thousand. These creatures are endowed with an amazing array of psi abilities. I have most of them as well as all of my father's yoki. I killed my own grandsire on Mother's side and the leader came after me. He is a blood drinker and he has power over those who are under him so to speak. I fought as long as I could; he made me drink the blood of a ningen.” I explained closing my eyes.
“Go on.” He growled.
“He violated me and pathiclly had my mate watch.” I said ashamed.
“Monstrous!” he snapped.
“I have not even let my own mates touch me since it happened. I did not kill him; I tried but he had drained me quite a bit. Jin's pup did not survive the trauma.” I said with a single tear sliding down my face.
“Asuna.” He said putting a clawed hand on mine.
“Jin is the Panyu lord. Naraku is Hisashi in his current guise.” I said looking away.
“Why did you kill your grandsire?” he asked.
“Because he sent an associate after my mother who ended up killing Sheng. Jin is Sheng's older brother; they have traditions of taking in widowed mates so please no judgments.” I said feeling the same pain in my gut as I had felt before.
“Some clans here have the same tradition Sister.” He said softly.
“Oh.” I remarked.
“You avenged your mate as you should have and it brought about horrible consequences.” He remarked.
I nodded numbly and he pulled me to him in a hug. I did not cry as I have done before I just could not summon the will to. I pulled back and straightened; I willed my fang into my hand and Touga watched in interest.
“That is impressive!” he exclaimed.
“Come you said you would train me and try and unleash my fang.” I said loosing my gloomy tone.
“I will in about an hour or so. Tekeshi is very upset and I think I should speak with him.” He said moving to leave.
“The timeline had been polluted already Touga.” I sighed.
“Who sent you here?” he asked.
“You left the way with Natsumi. Totosai is the one that told me to come.” I said confused.
“Do you not think I would have planned for all the contingencies in advance?” he smiled.
“Maybe. I guess. Okay I suppose so.” I said even more confused.
“I know several witches.” He said.
“I see.” I remarked.
“Do not worry so much. You are meant to be here or you would not be. I believe in fate.” He said firmly.
“Okay then.” I said feeling better.
“I do need to speak with Tekeshi.” He said flatly.
“I wish to speak to him in your stead.” I protested.
“He suffers Sister. That is why my father betrothed Tekeshi to Sorami. Tekeshi was a strong and young lord and in love with her.” He replied.
“I do not remember all the nuances Touga but I can reach him.” I replied.
“He is in the palace. I do not want Natsumi seeing you much because you bear her crest.” He said.
“This becomes the symbol of the Western House.” I replied with pride.
“Natsumi passes on something worthwhile, that is shocking!” he said sarcasticlly.
“Why do you dislike her so?” I asked him.
“She is a harpy and has conspired with other bitches against other nobles. I dislike that very strongly.” He replied darkly.
“Father hates it also. My mother is well liked by all the nobles. She has a certain charm.” I said smiling.
“I am glad for my pup. Someone deserves to love in this family. I cannot undo my mating; her family is still influential.” He remarked.
“So are you going to take me in the tunnel below the palace?” I asked mischievously.
“Hai that was my thought.” He said taking my hand.
We left the lodge and proceeded to find the tunnel entrance and enter into it. I had not been in it since I was a small pup following after my father. My father may have been formal and stoic but I realized now that he did shower me with affection. I always followed him around as Rin had done. I used to sit in his lap and twirl his hair in my little fingers as he would handle the correspondence. He taught me and Osamu how to hunt in our true forms. He was an excellent father and I at times was a very spoiled brat.
“You are thinking.” Touga commented.
“I was thinking about my chichi.” I said smiling.
“He sounds as if he is honorable and good.” He smiled.
“He can be quite lethal. I do not know why you name him the `Killing Perfection' but it fits him perfectly.” I said in awe.
“If he had been female I was going to name the pup after Sorami; If I had a son I wanted all to fear his name so that he would have no issues with managing the lands I will give him.” He said looking down at me.
“How upset was Tekeshi?” I asked changing the subject.
“He was as angry as he was when he came upon Sorami's body.” He replied in a serious tone.
We made it to a door and he pushed it open. It came into a hall that I recognized later would be Osamu and Youshiro's group of chambers.
“Brothers.” I muttered softly.
“You have brothers?” he asked softly.
“Hai. Osamu and Youshiro. Osamu is my twin and Youshiro is over sixty summers younger. I also have a newborn sister named Yoshiko.” I replied.
“He has a full house!” he murmured happily.
“My parents wanted a larger family.” I said gently.
“No doubt. Here we are. I will be close if he starts shouting.” He said bowing.
“Does he drink sake?” I asked all of a sudden.
“Very rarely.” He replied.
“I have a hunch he might.” I said sighing.
“That is not typical of him.” He stated back.
“I will shout if I need you.” I said sighing again and braced myself.
I knocked on his shoji door and got no answer. I knocked louder and he came to it and yanked it open. He looked down at me and his face was not exactly angry but anguished.
“Can I speak with you?” I asked softly.
“Not here.” He said unemotionally.
“It will afford privacy.” I said irritated.
“I have no wish to be tempted beyond my endure.” He said flatly.
“Lord Tekeshi, there is a sitting room in your chambers. We can sit and converse like two civilized adult youki.” I said calmly.
“I do not wish to be civilized nor adult at the moment.” He said staring at me with cold eyes.
“You are being obtuse!” I snapped.
“You are highly educated.” He remarked.
I lost my head and shoved him back. He was not expecting it and he landed flat on his rear. I slammed the shoji door shut and stood over him.
“I am not weak anymore Tekeshi. You may have bested me but I promise it was luck.” I said arrogantly.
“What do you want?” he asked standing.
“I hurt you and I had no wish to do so.” I said.
“I told you that it is my emotions and not to worry on them. I find my resolve weak around you so I think it better if you would leave me alone and I shall not seek your presence.” He espoused.
“That is not what you want. Why can you not know me as I am now and realize that I am not her? You have no idea of what I have lived or done. You have no idea who I know or my interactions.” I said.
“I want you to tell me my son has done to you and I intend to get very drunk and forget our conversations.” He said moving to a side board.
“That is just like him! Use that vile drink not to handle an issue!” I snapped.
“You keep telling me that you are not Sorami but I am not this unborn pup.” He said snappishly.
“Where you are not promiscuous; he was before we were mated.” I said evenly.
“Okay.” He said astonished.
“I know of you through him. He is kind hearted and loyal but I could not stay with him.” I said looking out to the balcony.
“Finish.” He commanded.
“He had a pup before he met me. Do you understand that by youki tradition and law, I am a future lord and not just a consort? My pups should have precedent over anyone but by your lands law mine would be forfeit. He still will not receive his son.” I explained.
“He is an idiot!” he snarled.
“I removed his mark from me and I have a sort of friendship with him but I cannot be second nor will I expect my own offspring to be either.” I said sitting on a low chair.
“You did not want to tell me that my own flesh and blood is an idiot of epic proportions.” He snapped.
“Hai.” I replied.
“Sake is in order.” He said pouring two small cups.
“I do not drink that vile stuff.” I said wrinkling my nose.
“Well I wish for you to join me this once. Touga keeps an excellent vintage and it is not as burning as some.” He said handing me the cup.
I frowned and he raised his small cup in a toast of sorts.
“To your soul and my stupid pup.” He said and then downed it.
I smirked at his toast and decided to go with it and I downed it. It burned a little but warmed my stomach and the taste was not too bad. I held the cup out for more and thought what could it hurt? No one I truly knew would know.
“You are right and it is excellent.” I said as he poured another small cupful.
He did the same with his and we saluted each other again. I downed it and it went down smoother this time. I looked at him and grinned.
“You wish for more?” he asked chuckling.
“Hai. To the hells with it. Let us finish the bottle.” I smirked.
I felt warm and he smiled at my playfulness. He poured us both another cupful and we downed again. I looked at him conspiringly.
“Tell Touga he can go. He is pacing the hall and it is most annoying.” I said winking at him.
Tekeshi laughed and stood and went to the shoji door and stepped outside.
“Are you calm my friend?” Touga asked.
“Hai. I think she has us getting quite inebriated. She has asked for you to go on because you are annoying her.” He said smirking.
“Mind yourself of her my friend. She is hurting from her current life as you suffer from our past.” He remarked.
“Touga you are an idiot. I would never force a bitch to do anything.” He said annoyed.
“Guard yourself my friend because this female is bewitching.” He said then left.
Tekeshi returned to his chambers and sat down. I looked up at him and I could not stop grinning.
“I am bewitching? I have never heard that term used to describe me. Whore has been used and vermin but never bewitching.” I laughed.
“You are feeling the sake.” He said seriously.
“So?” I snapped.
“You have had enough as have I.” he murmured.
“You afraid Lord Tekeshi that I may best you at this?” I said leaning forward.
“I have never been afraid of any challenge.” He said eyeing me.
“Fine.” I said picking up bottle and pouring two more cups.
“Shall we toast this time?” he asked.
“Hai. Let us toast to the eventual death of Vlad.” I said grinning.
“Who is that?” he asked as he drained the tiny cup.
“Who made me a whore. More…I wish for you to toast.” I said pouring another round.
“You are drinking too fast.” He advised.
“You are not?” I asked poking his chest.
“Hai I am but I am male and larger than you.” He remarked.
“Well we are lamenting are we not?” I asked leaning against the wall.
“Hai I guess we are.” He said lying on his side.
“You toast to something.” I demanded.
“I wish to quit remembering.” He said.
I poured another cupful and wondered how inebriated I really was. I felt like a hypocrite but I figured what the hell. I watched his green eyes and they were clouded with pain again. I felt for him and he growled at me. I raised a silver brow and eyed him.
“I told you not to pity me.” He snapped.
“It was not pity; I know how it feels to have someone ripped from you.” I said leaning forward.
“Please try and reign your emotions in for I feel them as few can.” He replied.
“More?” I asked him softly.
“Hai.” He answered holding out the tiny cup.
I filled them both and we both downed them. I could still see and speak just fine but I felt freer. I crawled over to him and lay beside him, face to face. I brushed my lips against his and he shut his eyes and stayed silent. I traced the outline of his mouth with a claw and his breathing increased slightly. I ghosted my lips along a blue stripe on his face and his eyes flew open.
“Stay still.” I whispered.
He did nothing and I brushed my lips along his nose and his eyelids. I moved to an ear and breathed lightly into it and he suppressed a moan. My hands moved to the ties of his haori and I undid them. I opened the black silk and splayed my hands across his chest. I ghosted my lips along his neck and clavicle. His eyes were tinged pink and I continued to assault his skin with my torture. I leaned down and barely flicked my tongue across his flat nipple and he groaned. I flicked the other with the tip of my tongue and I growled and sucked it into my hot mouth. His skin was like silk and his taste was salty and sweet.
“What are you doing.” He said in a gravelly voice.
I did not speak and let go of his nipple and ran my lips lightly down his chest. I started placing open mouth kisses down to taut stomach and dipped my tongue into his belly button and he cried out. He was waiting to see what I was doing and I admired his honor. I continued down his abdomen over his tight muscles. My hands went to the stays the kept his hakamas up and undid them.
“You do not need to do this.” He cried as I pulled down his hakamas.
I was beyond much reason and I saw his hips and I growled softly.
“What am I feeling?” I asked him.
“Desire. I do not need your pity.” He snapped.
I pulled his grey hakamas down further. I lowered my lips and kissed the base of his erection and he growled fiercely.
“Onna I want you so badly right now but I will not when you have told me no.” he said sitting up.
“Do you even know who I am?” I asked softly.
“You are Asuna. I know who you are.” He retorted.
“Hmmm.” I murmured as I ghosted my lips against his again.
“We have both drank too much sake.” He replied against my mouth.
My hand grasped his staff and I stroked him and he growled roughly and took possession of my mouth. I pulled away and lowered my mouth and licked his staff on the underside of it and ran my tongue over the tip.
“Kamis.” He cried.
I took him into my mouth and swirled my tongue around it and then sucked on him. I wrapped my hand around the base and I licked and sucked on him trying to please him. His hips arched and he tried to hold back from thrusting.
-Do as you wish. - I said in his mind.
He stared at me and he thrust into my mouth and groaned loudly. I watched him through my silver fringe of lashes; his face was beautiful in its intensity. He pulled me up and laid me on my back.
“I want you.” He breathed into my ear.
“Hai.” I murmured.
“We have drank too much sake.” He murmured into my neck.
“I intend to drink more later.” I said smiling.
“I should not do this.” He sighed.
“Probably not but I have tasted your skin and I need more.” I said softly.
“You are such a passionate creature.” He said kissing my lips softly.
“Shall we have one more cup?” I asked in a sultry tone.
“Hai I suppose so.” He said quietly.
I reached over and grabbed the bottle and got the small cups. He had sat back and pulled his hakamas back up. I growled very low and he looked at me thoughtfully. I poured more for each of us and I set mine down. I undid the knots that held my haori closed and slid it off. He was watching me and I eyed his responses. I picked up the cup and slowly downed it again. I was reveling in my total freedom and this slow seduction. I wanted us to both lose our heads and consume each other. I untied my hakamas and slipped them off. I put them next to my haori and the red silk was starting to match my eyes. He still watched me but his I could see the subtle change in his body language. I sat back against the wall with my knees bent and closed. I licked my dry lips and reached again for the sake. I did not bother with the small cup and poured a little down between my breasts. It ran down my stomach and into the apex of my thighs. I opened my knees and he was on me in an instant. He started licking my sternum feverishly and laved his tongue over one nipple then another. I gasped in pleasure as he pulled on the nipple with his teeth then rolled the other one. He cupped the breast he was suckling and I was fidgeting as warmth spread from my stomach to my groin. I decided to take advantage of his empathic abilities. I let my body totally relax and broadcast quite loudly my arousal and need. He moaned and started kissing my neck.
“You are a powerful telepath?” he groaned.
“Hai amongst other things.” I purred into his ear.
I grasped his back side through the silk and used my telekinetic ability to touch him along his shaft. He moaned my name and his hand went to my center and felt along my slit. I was more than ready and he growled softly. I grasped his hand and brought his fingers to my lips; I took them into my mouth and licked them clean.
“Asuna you are a vixen.” He said breathing hard.
“You are honorable. Something I have not felt like in so damn long.” I said looking at him.
“You are hurting.” He whispered as he searched my face.
“It truly matters not. I am not shielding right now so you can feel with me.” I said tracing his lips with my thumb.
He closed his eyes and his face contorted again in passion and I was struck at his male beauty. He lowered his lips to mine and slowly brought me to a fevered pitch. I was starting to ache but he was taking his time. His thumbs were grazing my nipples and I groaned under him.
“Tekeshi do not torture me so.” I cried.
“I am not torturing you. I am making love to you.” He replied.
I squirmed more and growled and he picked me up and brought me into the other room and laid me on his futon. He spread my knees and exposed my center. He leaned down and scented me and he in turn started growling some. He lightly tongued my nub and my hips arched off the futon.
“Be still.” He said lightly.
“I cannot.” I cried.
“Hai you can.” He whispered.
My eyes had bled red and I watched him thrust his tongue inside of me and I about came undone. My flesh was so sensitive I could not think and all I could do was feel. He moaned against my flesh and I tried to arch my hips again but he held firmly. He continued to move his smooth organ in and out of me and he pressed his thumb against my nub and I let out a strangled cry. I was spiraling quickly to a wonderful abyss. He continued to touch and thrust his tongue inside of me until I cried out and I tightened up and released.
“Kamis Tekeshi.” I cried out loudly.
He shut his blazing red eyes and I knew he felt my orgasm. I was admiring his ability when he moved up my body. His thick and very hard erection was pressed against my thigh through the silk of his hakamas.
“Please join with me.” I said nipping at his lips.
He smiled down at me and I was going insane again. I undid his ties and shredded them with my claws so he could not pull them up again. He pushed them down past his narrow hips and powerful thighs. I used my feet and pulled them past his ankles. I was shaking with need and widened my legs a little more. He lowered his lips to my breasts again and kissed each globe feverishly. I growled like a wounded beast and pulled his head up to sear him with my lips. He chose that moment to slide into me. I arched my hips again and moaned his name. He hooked a leg in the crook of his elbow; he moved within me and I arched my whole upper body.
“Oh please Tekeshi take me harder!” I cried in a husky voice.
“I am not denying you I just want to savor you. You feel like heaven do you know that?” he asked me in a deeper tone.
My beast was pawing at my subconscious and I cried out louder when he angled himself differently and stroked my sheath and my chest was heaving. I looked at him and his beast too was clawing but he kept it under control. I latched onto his backside and my claws were digging in. He moved a little faster and I continued to match his thrusts. I took it upon myself to reach between us and I rub my clit in a rhythm that matched our joining.
“Insatiable.” He cried as I watched the passion dance across his features.
“My beast is trying to break free.” I cried.
“Let it. I can control it.” He murmured.
I would try and take his blood I knew. This was an inu joining and I reveled in it. My ancestral marks grew jagged and my claws lengthened as well as my fangs.
“So beautiful.” He mumbled.
He kissed me again and I lost my breath. I ran my claws up his back and gouged his skin. He cried out and he was trying to maintain his control of his own primal self.
“Let it go.” I growled lightly.
His concentration slipped and I saw the change in him too. He thrust into me harder and I continued touching myself. He let loose to pound into me hard and fast. I was itching to taste his blood and I thrashed under him. He watched me and gave me his wrist. I used my free hand to grasp his arm and bit into it and I spread the euphoria. He stiffened and let loose a guttural groan. He pulled me with him and I shouted out myself. He bit into my wrist and I climaxed again. A warmth spread over me unlike I had ever felt and it seemed to electrify my skin and I passed out.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I woke up and the sky had darkened. Tekeshi was beside me and he too was stirring. I growled in contentment. I heard him inhale my scent and I rolled over and looked at him.
“How in Kamis name do you have spiritual powers?” I asked lightly.
“A miko as a great grandmere. It is very diluted now.” He responded.
“I want you so badly.” I said staring past him.
His black brows drew together in confusion. I had wanted to mark him so damn badly but he had given me an out when he offered me his wrist.
“How do you want me?” he said searching my face.
“I want you in my life.” I said turning away.
“I want that too. I know it cannot happen though.” He said nuzzling my neck.
“I should not have allowed us to join.” I said morosely.
“Please do not regret this.” He said turning me over.
“I have a bad habit of falling in love. I have Sorami's care of you and my own desire fueling me.” I lamented.
“I have been in a pit of hell for almost a century. I know that she has moved on and I got the opportunity to see it and feel you against my skin. I can deal with the fall out.” He said reassuring me.
“I need air. I am suffocating with feelings right now. I need to meditate to center myself.” I said rolling away.
I slowly put on my haori and hakamas and tied my obi around my waist. He watched me and I looked at him. He could sense my tumult of emotion and sat up.
“You are so different from him. He is kind of course but he could never convince me to give up everything; I am so tempted to do so with you. You should have shown her how much you loved her. Kamis I am so tired of feeling pain because of her.” I said and I fled his chambers.
I went to the tunnel and sat down and cried. I was a fool and I needed to leave to save my sanity. Touga and I had come to the truth and forgiveness and I had led myself down a painful path. I stood up and made my way to the lodge. I grabbed my fang and went outside. I started to channel my pain through the blade. I saw swirling yoki energy and I let out an anguished yell. It was barely discernable but there was a rippling effect in the air and a loud boom was heard when it hit a grove of trees; they shattered and fell into a heap of leaves and wood. I stared with my mouth hanging open. The reason for Naraku's fang finally made sense. I channeled him and his yoki and I had produced a similar effect at Mount Fuji when Sheng had died. The devastation was amazing and my hands trembled in excitement. The wave of yoki had spread out like a tsuchigumo web. Touga had come and stared at the heap I had left and he whistled.
“Damn!” he cursed.
“I am in shock.” I said beside him.
“You rival my skill.” He said staring down at me.
“You have the Tetsaiga and Tensaiga?” I asked.
“Just.” He remarked.
“Hand me Tensaiga.” I said.
He pulled out the Fang of Heaven and handed it to me. I grabbed its hilt and it pulsed in my hand. His face was shocked and I handed it back. I saw Tekeshi over the hill and he came by our sides.
“Did the whole palace hear it?” I asked sheepishly.
“Hai.” Touga answered.
“Shit!” I cursed.
Touga and Tekeshi both looked at me. I smirked at them and my grandsire-brother shook his head.
“We need to move you so you can practice and not be disturbed.” Touga said.
“The ookami dens up north are isolated and I know my sister would be glad for company.” Tekeshi offered.
“Actually I think that will do. Ryukotsusei is in the south.” Touga said thoughtfully.
“Ookami?” I said wrinkling my nose.
“What is wrong with the ookami? They are canine.” Touga said amused.
“They are wild inu want to be!” I snapped.
Touga and Tekeshi both broke into laughter and I glared at them both. Tekeshi was actually laughing the hardest and Touga's eyes almost watered.
“The ookami are allies.” He remarked.
“Yeah and they are mangy.” I said annoyed.
Touga turned away and barked more laughter.
“I am so glad I could amuse you two.” I snapped.
“It should take several says to reach the North.” Touga said.
“Why that long? Why not transform?' I asked.
“To our true forms?” Tekeshi asked.
“No. Transform into an energy sphere or teleport there.” I said.
“I cannot do that.” Touga said.
“Well my chichi can.” I remarked.
“Natsumi must be able to.” Touga growled.
“Oh.” I said smirking.
“I am not reliable in teleporting yet. It is a skill that I have yet to fully realize.” Tekeshi remarked blushing.
“I can get us there in two days at most; there is also my yoki cloud.” I said.
Touga looked down at me and seemed more and more impressed.
“I know you have a yoki cloud.” I said poking him in the chest.
“Hai but that is an exhausting way to use yoki.” He said.
“Hai it is.” agreed.
“I will meet you in the dens in a week. I must oversee the new wing of the palace.” Touga said.
“Alright but can I stop and get some clothes?” I asked.
“Hai I can have them sent north.” He said.
“That is excellent.” I replied.
“Well show me this energy form.” Touga commanded.
I looked at Tekeshi and saw he had his fang and armor on. I took his arm and transformed us both. I heard Touga in a distant way and I took off in the direction of the north.
