The Calm Before the Storm

 

I was retching violently again that day. I was not keeping much food down and this reminded me of the oldest twins' pregnancy. Yasu had been right and it was rough going. Kaito did not appear and I was curious and apprehensive at the same time for his absence. My sire finally came to see me in Shanghai and Zhou was assisting me after having gotten sick again.

“You have been sheltering yourself.” He said bluntly.

“No my lord, I have been feeling horrid.” I sighed.

“Asuna, what is going on?” he asked.

“I am honoring my bargain with Kaito.” I said candidly.

“He still wanted you to honor his asinine request?” He asked coldly.

“I understand his request my lord and hai I am honoring it. You taught me to not follow my word was tantamount to a sin.” I said neutrally.

“I did not teach you to make bargains that put you at risk!” he snapped.

“Father, he kept his word and brought Sheng back. I knew what I was getting into.” I answered honestly.

“Kamis Asuna! Why now? Why all of a sudden?” he demanded.

“Because he risks much to have something so simple. Besides I like him.” I shrugged.

“You like him?” He asked in disbelief.

“Father please! I am grown and I can choose to have a pup if I wish. He is a Tomoshibi Wraith. They are not like the Shouten Wraiths at all. In fact there is only six of his kind left and he is related to them all.” I explained.

“You intend to give him this pup to raise?” he asked.

“I have not thought on it. I could not see myself giving up one of my offspring.” I said thoughtfully.

“Maybe you should think about it.” He growled.

“Why are you so angry my lord?” I asked bluntly.

“I worry about you. You are my pup if you like it or not! I do not care if you have lived a thousand times before. You were sired by me in this life and I would be remiss if I did not care!” he snarled softly.

“I am alright my lord. I am sick to my stomach but I am fine. You have Yoshiko, Katsurou, and Masami at home who require their chichi more than I.” I said smiling.

“Hn.” He growled.

“I am well!” I said putting up my hands.

“Come home more.” He stated.

“How did you get here?” I asked.

“Youshiro.” He said.

“I see. Shall I take you back?” I asked.

“He can. I would prefer he stay away from your city. He is a bigger male whore than Osamu was.” He said rolling his eyes.

“I did not realize.” I said raising a brow.

“Come home more often.” He retorted.

I laughed and he left my rooms. I thought about Osamu and I realized it had been forever since I had seen my twin. I looked at Zhou and she smiled.

“I shall pack you a bag.” She said bowing.

I nodded and I had to find a chamber pot again. I laid back on my futon and stared at the ceiling.

“Where are you Kaito?” I whispered.

I felt nothing and I was angry. I felt used and I stood up and growled. Zhou brought me the bag and I took it. I bowed to her and looked at myself in the mirror. I wore a blue hanfu that was made of silk and velvet; a gift from Kaito. I closed my eyes and I ported to Scotland. I made sure I appeared in the wilds around the castle. I moved along and came to the gate. The Scottish Kitsune guards waved and I nodded at them. My hair was blowing behind me in the Highlands wind. They let me in and I went to the dining hall. I found Osamu and Aileana eating and drinking their noon day meal.

“Sister!” Osamu said jumping up and hugging me tightly.

“Hello brother.” I said hugging him in return.

I saw Cawley wave enthusiastically and I laughed. I sat next to Aileana and hugged her as well.

“It tis good te see ye Asuna. What brings ye?” Aileana asked merrily.

I looked at her belly and smirked at Osamu. He smirked as well. I felt eyes on me and I saw Collum staring at me. Ahkmet flashed in my mind and I wondered. I picked up a goblet of water and sipped it. I looked at the food and I became sick to my stomach. I covered my mouth and fled the table. I barely made it outside of the kitchen door and I was retching again. I sensed my brother and Aileana behind me.

“Asuna, you are pupped?” Osamu asked.

“Hai. Kamis not again.” I said vomiting more.

“Let me get ye some medicine Asuna. I will be right back Osamu.” The little vixen said.

“Are ye alright Lady Asuna?” I heard Cawley ask.

“I shall be well soon. Thank you for your concern Lord Sutherland.” I said.

Osamu picked me and I felt exhausted. He carried me up a spiral stairway and settled me upon a bed. My head was on a pillow and I closed my eyes.

“Tell me.” He demanded softly.

“I am paying up Osamu.” I said in a whisper.

“Kaito. Sister he is a wraith!” he said gently.

“Not like the Jings Osamu. He is called a Tomoshibi Wraith.” I answered.

“A light wraith?” he asked.

“Hai. He is completely different and really quite charming.” I stated wanting to sleep.

“Get some rest.” He said standing.

“Hai. I will try and join you for dinner.” I said drifting.

I heard him leave the room and close the door. I rolled to my side and I felt an aura. I sat up and Kaito was in a chair.

“Where have you been?” I asked him.

“You really pissed off Kaimei. He ranted and raved of how disrespectful you are.” He said softly.

“Oh?” I asked smirking.

“An arrogant piece of ether?” he said laughing.

“First thing that came to my mind. He referred to me as mundane.” I smiled.

“He also said that you told him that he bored you?” he asked me and was trying to not laugh hard.

“Hai I did. He was being a self inflated egotist. A combination I do not handle well.” I shrugged.

I laid back and undid my hanfu and exposed my belly. Kaito came over almost in a trance and he pressed his lips to my belly. It thrilled me and he closed his eyes.

“Thank you.” He whispered.

“Do not thank me. This is my babe as well.” I said running my hands through his golden hair.

He kissed my stomach again and the emotion coming from him was phenomenal. Kaito splayed his hands across my stomach and I felt tears threaten to fall.

“Will you tell me about yourself?” I asked him softly.

“What do you want to know?” he asked me.

“You were born in Japan?” I asked.

“Hai. I was born in a physical body and hai I was male.” He replied.

“When did you develop your wraith abilities?” I questioned.

“I guess I was a couple of years. It must have been hell on my mother to stay corporeal all the time. It was so long ago.” He said closing his eyes.

“When did you start wanting your own?” I asked in a soft voice.

“I was fairly young. The Shouten were making moves against us at the time. They are insidious and horrid creatures. It was said that we used to be one race but when we settled on the islands we developed differently. I believe that but I hate their kind.” He stated.

“I do as well.” I shuddered.

“I am so sorry. I wanted to stay and I wanted to fight them but Kaimei was insistent that I uninvolve myself. He really does not like dealing with other beings. He sits back and just watches. I always wanted to join in. He said I drove our parents to near insanity. They found me often on this plane playing with the ningen children or youki young. I wanted to be corporeal but I cannot maintain it.” He sighed.

“You wished you were born another type of youki.” I said in understanding.

“Hai. When I was old enough I just wandered. I have been everywhere and hai I did play at being a Kami. I was bored.” He admitted.

“So you played as a female goddess?” I asked in amusement.

“Hai. It was fun really. I just had to do little things and it made the youki and ningen alike happy. It made me happy to be useful I guess.” He shrugged.

“What happened in Egypt?” I asked him gently.

“You were born to be trained as a priestess and your aura pulsed and was wild. It was not like a normal youki aura at all. You intrigued me and I watched. You were so different and feisty. I adored you immediately. When you were vexed; I would taunt those who bothered you. I was enamored with your whole being. I thought you beautiful but I can see your soul and it is beyond the most beautiful thing I had ever encountered. I have been smitten and I stayed. The jackal attack occurred when I was home in Japan. You never called upon me and I thought you would go back to Thebes and I was horrified when you had yourself killed. I was determined that you would live again.” He said in an almost inaudible tone.

“So there are times when you cannot hear a call or you do not see.” I commented.

“Of course. I failed you when I should not have. Each time you birthed Shezmu a pup I was thrilled and envied him. I was happy for you both of course but I wanted what he had. He deserved you and still does but I could never give you up.” He said shaking slightly.

“When I project?” I asked.

“You have the ability but I pull it out in you. It was latent and I was dying to see you in that form. I pushed you. You received that yoki from your mother's side and I have gleefully exploited it. I am sorry for that.” He said looking away.

“You allowed me to save Quon. I saw you that day.” I said.

“You did?” he asked surprised.

“You did not know?” I asked him.

“No.” He said looking very shocked.

“Why does that surprise you?” I questioned.

“You should not have been able to see me. I was in my true form.” Kaito replied.

“You look like you do now. I swear I saw you. You were on the battlefield and I only saw you for a mere second.” I stated as I laid back.

“I know not how you could have.” He said shaking his head.

“If I project then perhaps I can see your realm?” I asked him with a raised brow.

“You cannot come where I dwell.” He said flatly as he stood.

“Why not? If I saw you in your true form then why not?” I demanded.

“Asuna that is insanity. Besides you are a fully corporeal being. I think we have carried this as far as it needs to be.” He said bluntly.

“Oh you get to dictate again?” I snapped.

“I am over five thousand summers inu! I think I can dictate what I wish.” He said crossing his arms over his chest.

“So you get what you want and to hell with what I wish?” I asked in a dangerous tone.

“Is that not the deal we made?” He asked me.

“You are not such a bastard that you say this. Why have you changed all of a sudden?” I asked in a snippy tone.

“Let us be realistic okay? This cannot go anywhere and we risk feelings that we need not have.” He said turning away.

“I see. You are a coward. Go ahead and abandon us. Go crawl and beg your brothers for your sin of wishing. I shall figure this out myself.” I said in an angry tone.

“I have no intentions of abandoning my child.” He said flatly.

“Just its mother. Whatever Kaito, I do not have time for the likes of a coward. I must be dirty like the Lady Izayoi was dirty for my grandsire. You slummed amongst us lowly normal youki, why not go back to your lofty perch and watch our lives go by. Do not think for a moment that I will not keep my pup. Go away.” I hissed.

I rolled away from him and my old reliable self hatred consumed me. I choked back my feelings and my stomach churned. I began dry heaving and I felt Kaito lye beside me and hold onto me. I tried to push him away but he held on.

“I am sorry. I am so sorry.” He whispered in my ear.

I continued to heave until it finally stopped. I laid there exhausted and tears streamed down my face from the exertion and my anger.

“I grow nervous at so much opposition to this, whatever it is we are doing.” He stated.

“It was alright as long as you just played right?” I asked angrily.

“Hai.” He mumbled.

“Screw you elder youki. You have lived so long that you forget what it is to live. We are lovers, you can say it.” I snapped.

“I have never cowered away from anything.” He said growling.

“Yet you grow nervous because big brother is mad? Perhaps Kaimei needs to rut and have an orgasm and he will let up on you.” I said sarcastically.

Kaito shook with laughter and I could not help but smirk. He rolled me till I was on my back and he touched the silk of my hanfu; it dissolved under his touch and I stared at him surprised. He smiled softly and I undid the stays to his haori and then his hakama. He derived pleasure from the simple act of undressing.

“Tell me what I can do to ease this for you.” He asked as his fingers skimmed my chest and stomach.

“I am unsure Kaito. I was this sick when I was pregnant with the older twins.” I said softly.

“I am selfish.” He muttered.

“Tell me what it is you wish.” I said urging him gently.

“I want to be joined with you. I feel so much when I am with you and in you.” He sighed.

“What do you feel Kaito?” I prompted him.

“Joy.” He said almost trembling.

He pulled me up and he held my head as one hand was tangled in my hair. He cut his own neck and leaned forward eagerly and lapped up the blood. He muttered softly as I did and then my fangs pierced his throat and he held onto the back of my head. His blood was so different and I groaned loudly. I could not help myself and I drank deeply. It calmed my ravaged stomach and I growled loudly in my hunger and he made no moves to stop me. I continued to take in his blood and he moaned again softly. I did not let up and he laid me back and slowly slid in my center. I shook against him and had to release his throat.

“Kaito!” I cried out.

We drowned in the sensations and I distantly heard knocking on the door. Kaito looked annoyed but slowly withdrew from me. I shut my eyes at the feeling and then loss of it. His used his spectacular yoki and I was dressed again and so was he. He sat in the arm chair and Osamu walked in with Aileana.

“Who are you?” my twin demanded.

“I am Kaito young prince.” The wraith replied.

“I wish for him to be here.” I said glaring at Osamu.

“Yeah well he needs to be seeing as you carry his progeny.” Osamu muttered.

I rolled my eyes and Aileana handed me a brew that had just a bit of whiskey.

“It will sort of numb yer stomach fer ye. It will also calm it too. Lord Kimbrace wants to see ye.” She said making sure I was better.

The draught helped tremendously and I wondered what Collum wanted. I nodded yes and Kaito looked really annoyed.

“Her visitor can wait just a bit Lady Sutherland. I have a need to finish conversing with Lady Asuna and my issue takes precedent at the moment.” He said flatly.

“As ye say sir. I will say though that Lord Kimbrace is a vera important noble here.” She said in her Scottish burr.

“And I am a five thousand year old demi god. Now please excuse Lady Asuna and I.” he snapped.

I blanched at the dismissal of my brother and sister in law and gave Kaito a glare. He kept his gaze even and they left. He stood and came back over to me.

“I am sorry but I cannot stay much longer. I intend to finish what was started.” He said firmly.

“Aroused?” I asked smirking.

“Very.” He growled.

He did not bother to use his yoki and he stripped me of my hanfu. His lips were on mine and I became a mess of pure feeling.

I attended the evening meal and I kept Aileana's draught handy. I was able to keep down a little beef and water. I was talking very little and Collum came and sat next to me.

“Hello Lord Kimbrace it has been several years.” I nodded.

“Aye lass it has.” He said.

“You had wanted to see me earlier?” I asked.

“I was jest wanting te know ye were okay is all. The last I saw ye, ye were pretty upset.” He commented.

“That issue has become more entangled and I bore the cub. His name is Zihao and his sire died in battle.” I replied closing my eyes to the pain.

“I am sorry te hear that. It seemed ye loved the feline.” He commented gently.

“You still want to spar!” I exclaimed.

“Yes. I canna have a woman best me. Are ye better?” he asked amused.

“Well enough to beat you.” I said smirking.

“Good. I shall see ye in the morning and bring yer sword.” He stated as he stood.

“Are we friendly sparring?” I asked.

“We shall see. Ye have a nasty temper though.” He said snidely.

“Ah well you have seen nothing.” I laughed.

“Oh I am sure I have seen nothing yet but I promise it willna be something ye forget either.” He said smiling.

I marveled at how confident he seemed these days and I listened to Lord Cawley snorting in laughter and the Scottish youki amused me endlessly. Osamu sat next to me and felt my head.

“Your temperature is higher. Not a fever really but I am worried.” He said softly.

“Osamu quit being a mother hen, it is not you. I have missed you keenly.” I said laying my head on his shoulder.

“Me too. I should come home more often. Youshiro has been here.” He said seriously.

“What has he done now?” I asked in a groan.

“Well let us say that he makes me look quite tame in my youth.” He said seriously.

“I have given up trying to rein him in. He is wild and I think will get himself killed.” I said shaking my head.

“Well I am going to deal with him. Father is so busy with the war and all.” Osamu commented.

“War? What war?” I asked.

“He did not tell you?” he said surprised.

“No!” I said in sudden anger.

“Well Chen declared war on the West.” He shrugged.

“I know why he said nothing. He did not want to put me in the middle of it with Zihao!” I said furiously.

“It is said that you are fostering Zihao in Xizang?” Osamu asked.

“Hai I am. He was inconsolable when Quon died. You should see Mingli with him.” I said softly.

“I respect your decision but the Byakko are furious. I am sure Mother has been keeping Masami from Chen and there is that as well.” He said sipping wine.

“Father did not want you to fight?” I asked.

“No. He wanted me to stay with Aileana till she gives birth. Have you not wondered why you have not seen Baku?” Osamu asked.

“Osamu open your mind.” I sighed.

He did as I asked and I connected with him and showed him everything. My gut twisted and guilt assaulted me. His eyes widened and he sat back stunned. He reached for his wine and drained it and motioned for more.

“Suna is Kaito playing you?” he demanded.

“No. He is just lonely in his existence and I fascinate him is all. Believe me I have met one of his brothers. He is as sour as they come.” I said shaking my head.

“Dear Kamis another life? Shezmu-sama's mate?” he asked surprised.

“Makes sense though. Give Lord Kimbrace my regrets but I am returning home. I intend to see the end of the Byakko situation once and for all.” I snapped.

“Sister you are pregnant and if you should fall again, I do not think Kaito would be so forgiving.” He said seriously.

“Who says I shall fall?” I asked annoyed.

“Asuna please stay.” He said pulling on my hand.

“Osamu you chided me when I fell in love with Quon. I loved him dearly but you were right. I have to own up to my behavior. Youshiro needs to be with me right now.” I said gently pulling my hand away.

“Sister this is not about you anymore. This is about our sire's honor and our mother's stupidity.” He said softly.

“Osamu you are showing your inu self more and more. I on the other hand show my uppyr self quite often. Mother gave into her instincts when she should not have but she cannot be held responsible anymore.” I said sighing.

“I know and I am glad my other side is not rearing its head.” He acknowledged.

I kissed his hand and bowed. I left the banqueting hall and ported away to the West. I went in search of younger brother and found him flirting shamelessly with a noble bitch. I growled at her and she scurried away. Youshiro looked at me annoyed. He was getting more handsome as he got older. He was a cad of the most epic proportions and it annoyed me. He was the most like me and I sighed.

“Come brother we are needed in China.” I said firmly so that he would not argue.

“Father said to stay here.” He said.

“I am the commander of the army and I tell you that we are going to China. Get your armor and your fang now!” I snapped.

He jumped up and went to his chambers. I went to mine and put on my armor and slipped my fang back in my obi. Youshiro met me outside and he was eager to fight.

“You need to slow down just a little Youshiro.” I said.

“What and let my big sister outdo me?” he said smirking.

“You shame us all!” I snapped.

“Do not get morally superior on me Asuna. Kamis you have mates and your lovers. I get the whole idea you are a lord and all but how dare you judge me!” he snapped in return.

“Use more discretion is all I am saying!” I hissed.

“I give you that. Father caught Baku and I both not using discretion.” He said turning pink.

“Excuse me?” I asked stunned.

“Hai I thought you knew! Father dissolved your union with General Baku.” He said.

“No wonder I have not seen him. Father has kept much from me.” I said in an angry tone.

“Sister I am sorry. I know Baku did not intend for it, it just happened but Father was horrified and terribly angry.” He said gently.

“Well I guess our chichi has been handling my affairs again.” I snapped.

“Hai.” He said embarrassed.

“Use more discretion from now on!” I hissed.

I dipped into his mind and I ascertained my sire's whereabouts in China. He was in Zhejiang and I stormed up to him. He ascertained me coolly and I kept my demeanor cool and I bowed.

“I would like to speak with you my lord.” I said through clenched teeth.

“Now?” He asked raising a brow.

“Hai my lord.” I said bowing my head keeping myself calm.

He nodded and went to his tent and sat down upon a cushion. I sat across from him and I was shaking.

“Forgive me but I am quite angry father. Why did you not tell me about Baku?” I asked in a low growl.

“He dishonored you openly. I will not have it!” He growled in return.

“Should that not have been my decision?” I asked.

“You have been occupied.” He said thinly.

“I would have made time. This war, why did you keep this from me?” I asked.

“Yasu demanded that I do. He said you cannot handle extra stress right now and that babe could kill you.” He said flatly.

“Father I resent this. I resent my life being controlled. I am Lord of Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Hong Kong! My word is law here and you treat as if I am just a pup.” I snapped.

“I understand all this but Yasu has told me quite bluntly what can happen to you.” He said narrowing his amber eyes.

“What? What can happen?” I demanded.

“You can rupture your womb and the blood loss is quick and horrendous. There is not much he can do if that happens. I resent this creature for putting you in this position.” He said in an awful tone.

“I made an arrangement and I will honor it. Yasu needs to stick his nose out!” I snarled.

“He says you are an ox and will not listen. You will listen to me. I will have you confined if need be and your yoki bound!” He growled.

“How dare you!” I howled in anger.

He stood up and moved to me quickly. I realized too late what my father was doing. The next thing I saw was nothing.

I woke up in Shanghai and truly the worst headache of my life. I felt horrid and weak as a newborn. My father had carried through with his threat and I was livid. I saw Yasu and Nobu standing over me and I rolled and through vases at both of them.

“How dare you both! You make me defenseless and weak. Get out! Get out!” I shrieked.

Nobu looked surprised and Yasu glared at me as I went for another vase. This one was heavier and I managed to hit the ancient inu in the head.

“Owe!” he snapped.

“Get out now.” I commanded in a furious tone.

They both got out of my path. I held my head and it ached horribly. I felt like a useless ningen and snarled. I could barely feel auras but I felt Ishin and Naraku. They edged into the room and I glared at them.

“Did you help my sire?” I yelled.

“No not really. Nobu is the one who told us what happened. Kaito?” Naraku asked.

“I owed him!” I hissed.

“Damnit Asuna. Your sire felt it necessary to bind your yoki to save you then this must be serious. Your damn mutt father would think anything to death.” Naraku said disrespectfully.

“I swear I will knock both of your heads together if you vex me!” I snarled.

“She is seriously pissed brother.” Ishin remarked.

“Really? I had not noticed.” Naraku said sarcastically.

“Get out! Both of you get the hell out now!” I demanded.

I went to pick up something else that was heavy and they both ported out. My sire had taught me to throw objects and hit my targets. He had used Jaken as a target many times when the Kappa annoyed him. I could not port and I could barely use my uppyr yoki. I walked into my study and wrecked it in my tantrum. I heard someone at the door and there was Geming.

“What?” I hissed.

“My lady I heard your study being sacked and I thought I would check on you.” He said reasonably.

“It is me. Where is my sire?” I demanded.

“In the field my lady. He has requested that I guard you and keep you from the battles.” He said leaning in the doorway.

“I am going to claw my sire to shreds!” I snapped.

“No you will not. You will be obedient to your sire my lady. I honor you and I believe your father correct. You have put yourself in tremendous danger this time.” Geming said.

I blinked at Geming and I was incensed again. I walked past him and I could not call upon Eyal or Kaito for that matter. I screamed in rage and walked right out of my palace. I knew these lands better than most and I went into the forest. I was screaming in my head for someone to hear me. I just wandered and I literally walked right into Li. He looked surprised and shocked. I knew he could barely discern any yoki and I watched him.

“What the hell?” he asked shocked.

“My yoki has been bound. I am a virtual prisoner in my own body.” I said in anger.

“Who did this to you?” he asked horrified.

“My sire.” I snapped.

“Why?” he asked me.

“Do you know the stories of our Kamis?” I asked.

“Yes.” He replied.

“You know of Kaito?” I asked.

“He is of the Netherworld right?” Li asked.

“Hai. He is actually a very old and powerful creature called a Tomoshibi Wraith. He brought back Lord Sheng from Manchuria on a condition.” I explained.

“What was that?” he asked.

“He wanted a babe of his own. All the females of his kind have died off. I am part uppyr; wraiths and uppyr derive originally from the same youki and we are compatible.” I said.

“You are pregnant with his offspring and your sire has sealed your yoki?” Li asked confused.

“Yasu is a very old healer and so much more. I am of a mind to spill his secrets.” I snapped.

“Would you like me to take you away so to speak.” He asked.

“Hai! That would be great.” I said.

“Where?” he asked.

“First I want to see Yasu! He should be in the field with my sire. Stay close.” I said.

He wrapped his arms around me and he ported us to the battlefield. I saw Yasu and I picked up a rock and chucked it at him. It hit him squarely in the head and Li snorted softly.

“Hey Yasu!” I yelled.

“Pushy bitch!” he yelled back.

“Since you see fit to control me then you explain to the current lord who you really are and what you are!” I hissed.

“Shut your damn mouth!” he growled at me.

“Why not shut yours?” I retorted.

I saw my sire and he looked angry. I glared at him and growled.

“Ask him who he really is Father. Ask him about the West so many years ago. Ask him how he knows all things.” I said in a flippant way.

My sire looked at Yasu and the old inu was growling at me.

“Have fun Yasu.” I said taking Li's arm and he ported us away to Lhasa.

We were in his chambers and I sank onto his bed. I looked up and he smiled.

“Zihao sleeps in the next room. He is the sweetest cub I have ever seen. The whole court loves him.” Li said sitting by me.

“What are you wanting Li?” I asked.

“Let me adopt him. I will be a good father to him. You and I get along very well. You are one of my closest friends and allies.” He said in his deeply seductive voice.

“He is my son!” I said standing.

“I do not want to take him away from you but to just be a father to him.” He said calming me.

“I do not know Li. I need to think on it.” I said.

“I understand. I am glad I can assist you.” He said standing.

I looked at him and sighed. I could not even hear his thoughts well. He meant to lead me to some chambers and I touched his arm.

“Thank you for what you have done for Zihao.” I said softly.

“I really have come to care for him.” He said.

“I am sorry for fleeing from you when you were in the West. I was overwhelmed.” I admitted.

“I bared my soul and I was rebuffed. I am not a simpleton princess. I bear you no ill will. You said we were a liaison and I pushed.” He replied evenly.

“Li please do not act like this.” I said gritting my teeth.

“I am not angry and I am fine. Please follow me.” He said in a calm tone.

I turned him to face me and I was going on natural instinct.

“Li, I do not want it this way.” I said running my knuckles along his cheek.

“Please you have been so kind this past year and we are friends. You gave me what I needed to deal with ba's death. This is enough.” He replied softly.

I touched his lips with my thumbs and he remained quite calm. I sighed softly and kissed his lips barely. I made no moves to make it more and neither did he. I pressed his lips again and shut my eyes. I had hurt him and I could not deal with it. I felt tension in him and I again lightly pressed the sensitive flesh with my own.

He still said nothing and I had shocked Li almost out of his stripes. I pulled on my hanfu and looked over my shoulder at him. He still said nothing and it was apparent he was thinking. I left him to his musings and I went to Zihao's room. I lay next to him and he rolled over and looked surprised.

“Haha?” he asked.

“Hai.” I murmured.

“I no feel you.” He said touching my face.

“Haha's yoki is drained baby, haha is fine.” I said kissing him on his head.

“Li ask haha if I be his cub?” he asked me sweetly.

I looked up and saw Li in the doorway. Zihao jumped up and ran to him and Li picked him up. He hugged Li's neck and I felt gratitude and sadness fill me.

“Haha say hai!” Zihao cried.

Zihao blushed and he snuggled up to Mingli.

“Thank you.” He whispered to me.

“It is best. Zihao, haha is sleepy. Would you like me to stay in here with you?” I asked him.

I nodded and stood. I took him from Li's arms and kissed him several times all over his cheeks and he giggled. I put him down and he scurried back to his bed. He gave us both such an endearing smile that my heart melted. He closed his eyes and we slipped out. I followed him down a short hall and he pulled me to him and pressed me against the wall.

“I do this then I do it because I love you not because it is a good political move. I still want to go through your council in the West and yes it will piss Chen off horribly.” He said gently but firmly.

“There will be no returning from this Li. You must be sure.” I said holding his face.

“Do you love me?” he asked.

“Hai.” I replied.

“Then I shall count myself as one of your mates then.” He said leaning in and kissing me.

“Can we put this off until I have had this babe?” I asked softly.

“Yes that seems prudent.” He said.

“I shall feel free to come to you in the middle of the night and ravish your rather lovely body.” I said with a licentious grin.

“Can you help me find Kaito?” I asked.

“Yes. Do you think he can find a way to restore your yoki?” he asked.

“There is your answer. Come let us restore your yoki and I did not help you.” He said.

“A lie?” I asked surprised.

“An omission.” He said.

“Correct. Now where do we find Kaito?” he asked.

“Mount Fuji.” I stated.

“I shall take you there now.” He said.

I nodded and he went to a servant to make sure Zihao was watched by a servant and he held me in his arms. He ported us in his flourish of wind and we appeared on Fuji. I was shocked to see Kaito there already. Li bowed and backed away. He ported and Kaito looked furious.

“Where have you been? I cannot sense you at all!” he said in anger.

“Tell that to Yasu who had my sire bind my yoki.” I said in a temper.

“He goes too far. You are vulnerable without your yoki. Son of a whore!” he snapped.

“Can you restore it?” I asked.

“Oh hai I can and I shall. Your sire will learn his place.” He said furiously.

“Do not hurt him!” I demanded.

“I need not hurt him.” He snapped.

He held me gently and he fazed us out to where the soldiers were. He was containing his fury and my sire came over a hill as well as Yasu.

“Well Hanori you bastard!” Kaito growled.

“Shut up Kaito! You know damn well you have put my girl at risk!” Yasu snarled.

“Yours? When did she become yours?” Kaito said flatly.

My sire was inching closer and Kaito turned to him and looked furious.

“How dare you put her and my babe in danger! You are a fool to listen to him. I expected more from you inu.” He snapped at my father.

“Unhand my pup.” My sire demanded.

“Watch inu.” Kaito snapped.

Kaito leaned down and whispered for me to trust him and I nodded. He held my hands and he flooded me with his own yoki and I gasped loudly. It felt so incredible that I wanted to moan. I felt his hand pressed to my abdomen and he lovingly stroked my belly. I heard Yasu yell in a fury at the undoing of his binding. Kaito released me and I felt my aura flare. I smirked at my wraith lover and I felt my Dakkasou seep into my claws.

“Do not think to put your pup in danger again Lord Sesshomaru. You listen to an old and very prejudiced source. I would not have asked her if she did not have the power to carry this child. You truly have no idea how powerful this onna is.” Kaito said as his eyes flashed crimson.

“She is my pup wraith. Yasu has served this Sesshomaru well these past eight centuries.” He growled.

“Well now Hanori you admonish me but you cannot leave your family behind.” Kaito snapped at Yasu.

“That is my business Kaito. You are a wraith and not an inu.” Yasu said stepping closer.

“If you touch Lady Asuna again old man and I will bring the weight of the council down on you! You may not agree with what I am doing but it does not give you the right to make her an object of attack!” Kaito hissed.

“I am trying to protect her as that babe could kill her! You forget Kaito; I have taken care of her all her life. Your babe will put undue stress on her already taxed body you idiot.” Yasu snapped.

“You also underestimate me as you always do. Has Kaimei been talking to you again?” Kaito demanded.

Yasu snorted and Kaito had hit a nerve. My sire was very confused and I barely followed the conversation. It felt wonderful to be normal again and I stayed by Kaito's side.

“Your eldest brother is wise.” Yasu commented.

“He also thinks that the younger youki are idiots. He is so self involved he never thinks to look on this plane and the world he came from. I am not so closed off and I dare to have the one thing that my kind had not had in a very long time. You will face me Hanori if you try and bind her again, you as well Lord Sesshomaru. She may be your pup but she is grown.” Kaito stated in a fierce growl.

“Vermin!” Sesshomaru growled.

“Really? Well I shall help then. The Byakko are encamped less then ten miles from here. I am sure they plan to surround you.” Kaito said bluntly.

“Where are you going?” my father demanded from Kaito.

“I am intending to undo all the damage you have wrought to my lover.” He said raising a golden brow.

My father hissed in fury and Kaito held me to him gently.

“Father I shall be well. I would not put myself in such danger as when Jing got to me.” I replied.

Kaito's grip tightened just a little when I mentioned Jing. He really hated the Shouten and I felt it.

“Kaito! Do not dare take her!” Yasu yelled.

Kaito looked angry and fazed us out. We appeared in his place that was lavish and filled with silks. He tipped my chin up and his mouth hovered over mine.

“I want to see if you can see me when you project.” He whispered.

“Why you were most adamant that I should not.” I said confused.

“Humor me.” He replied.

I nodded and I turned. He was gone and I sighed. I laid down on the futon and began drifting into a deep trance like sleep. I was aware and I looked around. I ventured from the room that my body was in and I wandered the beautiful halls of this castle. Things were silent and I came upon a serene room where many plants grew. I saw him and he was beautiful. He was more of shadow and he knew I saw him. I sat up suddenly in my body and he was beside me. I looked at him and he seemed in awe.

“You should not be able to do that.” He stated.

“Is that your true form?” I asked.

“How it appears to another spirit form hai.” He said softly.

He was feeling something deep and he lowered his mouth to mine. I whined as he kissed me and it occurred to me that I was a fool. He pulled back and looked down at me.

“Why do you think yourself a fool?” he asked holding my face between his hands.

“I am not supposed to like you this much.” I whispered.

“Do not think. Do not give your thoughts credence.” He commanded softly.

“How are you feeling Kaito? How do you feel about the mother of your babe?” I asked as softly.

“Too much but I always have. Do you have any idea what I see when you are non corporeal?” he asked.

“No.” I answered.

“You said you felt joy when you are joined with me.” I stated.

“Kaito?” I asked.

“It is nothing.” He said looking into my eyes.

“Let us leave it as it is.” He said softly.

He laid me back and pressed his clothed body to mine. He closed his eyes and I knew he was weakening on his hold of his physical body. I bit my own wrist and presented it to him. He groaned softly and took the proffered limb and held on as he drank it in. He wanted to stay here and the drain on my yoki was tremendous but it felt sublime as well. I looked between us and our silks were gone. He released my wrist and smiled down at me.

“It is simply a manipulation of the physical.” He answered my unvoiced question.

I rolled over and Kaito was still asleep and I smiled. I cut my wrist with my claw and lightly pressed it to his mouth. He groaned in his sleep and opened his mouth. I actually squeezed my blood into his mouth. I saw his throat move and he was so exhausted that he really was not waking up. I actually fed him until I felt myself get dizzy. I laid my head against his chest and he still slept. I sensed another aura in this dwelling and I slowly got up and dressed in a gray kimono. I retreated from Kaito's room and followed the aura. There stood another blond haired wraith. I watched him and he turned and appraised me.

“So you are the onna that has captured my baby brother.” He said amused.

“You are?” I asked.

“Kaita. Hai my parents lacked originality.” He smirked

“Why are you here?” I asked.

“I could ask you that. This is our home when we are corporeal.” He smiled widely.

“All six of you?” I asked.

“You know much about my family I see. Hai all six of us but Kaimei barely ever comes here.” He laughed.

“Thank the Kamis.” I muttered.

“You do not care for my elder brother. Well I am next to the youngest.” He explained.

“That is fascinating but I have a question.” I said crossing my arms.

“Hai?” he asked.

“Why are you and your other brothers allowing your kind to be extinct?” I demanded.

“Who would we mate with?” he asked.

“Uppyr.” I said flatly.

“So you know a lot about us. I guess we could but I have been leading a busy life. Kaito is the one who has desired a family. He managed to pick the most powerful onna he could find.” He laughed.

“I intend to lay waste to the Shouten.” I said flatly.

“You are insane.” He said furrowing his brow.

“The Tomoshibi should not have been wiped out. You need to do your duty and find a strong uppyr female.” I said flatly.

“Your mother is quite lovely I hear.” He said sarcastically.

“That side of the family houses much power. Stay away from my mother, Chen has already started a war.” I sighed.

“You really are opinionated.” He said laughing.

I sensed Kaito and he was just rousing. I ported to his room and he actually looked up bleary eyed.

“Did you feed me?” he asked.

“Hai.” I smiled.

“I do not like you being my only source of nourishment. It cannot be good for our babe.” He said gently.

“Kaita is here.” I said smirking.

“Damn.” He snapped.

He stood up and his clothes appeared. That particular feat would always amaze me. Kaito walked towards the atrium and he saw his elder brother.

“Hello Kaito. Hanori is in a fit. Kaimei wants to see you.” Kaita said.

“No! I have a right to have a lover.” He said in a fury.

“You happened to pick the one onna that everyone but you agrees is off limits.” Kaita said raising a brow.

“Why am I such a topic of discussion? Surely you elders have better things to do than try and interfere or not interfere in my lives.” I snapped.

“Well little brother here is in love with a future elder that is why.” Kaita said in a snippy tone,

“Excuse me?” I asked surprised.

“You have the ability and the power inu. You have to follow your own path.” Kaita snapped.

“Listen. You two can gripe at each other and you can tell your council to go fuck themselves. You and your brothers really need to rut others and everyone leave me alone!” I snarled.

“Asuna wait.” Kaito said following me.

“You leave out things Kaito. Your damn elders are getting on my last nerve. Guess what? I love you. Tell them to chew on that. I am not an object! I am an individual who has a mind of her own. Now I have wraiths to kill.” I said in an angry voice.

“Wait! You cannot just say you love me and just walk away.” He snapped.

“Oh hai I can. You walk away so to speak all the time. Now if you will excuse me.” I bowed and prepared to port.

“I have always loved you. You know that though and what is this about killing wraiths?” he demanded.

“I did not stutter and you will probably need to return to your true state soon correct?” I asked.

“Hai.” He sighed.

“I know I will see you soon.” I said and then ported.

I was in Buda and I was annoyed. I went to Eyal's room and I shook him awake. He turned and looked at me.

“I want to find out who possessed you and end their miserable line.” I said softly.

“In the middle of the night?” he asked irritated.

“I prefer my bed in the night and I want to go back to sleep.” He said rolling away from me.

“Eyal!!!” I hissed.

“What?” he hissed back.

“I said I want to figure out who tortured you. Get up.” I demanded.

“Woman I have had a long day. I have been dealing with the dukedoms and principalities and they are Slavic! They enjoy arguing. Now come to bed and get some sleep.” He growled.

“I want to kill the Shouten, the Steppe Wraiths.” I snapped getting in next to him.

“Well you see they will probably be there in the morning. I have no wish to think about the vile creatures.” He said closing his eyes.

I grew annoyed and I latched onto his throat and bit in. He groaned loudly and I made sure he experienced a rather huge rush of lust. I kept drinking and he cried out. “It translates as light. Where the Shouten are black haired and typically black eyed; the Tomoshibi are blond and light eyed. They have no shoki and have amazing abilities to manipulate matter.” I explained.

“You know one of these wraiths?” he asked curiously.

“I do. There are only six Tomoshibi left and it is because of the Shouten.” I said.

“My God.” He said stunned.

“They are a good youki. They are absolutely nothing like the Shouten.” I said scrubbing his hair with a sweet smelling soap.

“I had fought a group of the Steppes in Russia. It was a terrible battle and I flew into a fury. The Byzantine were also involved. Syna was killed and come to find out later she conspired with the Steppes to have me killed. It was not long after that I do not remember as clearly.” He said softly.

“Why did she betray you?” I asked.

“She claimed she loved me. I did not believe her; I was fond of her as she gave me Jarek but I did not want to be mated.” He said with an ironic grin.

“Sounds familiar.” I laughed.

“It was never that amazing and soul consuming with her. If we shared what we do then I would have gladly took her to mate but when I am with you it is such a beautiful thing.” He murmured.

“You like how we end up in an exhausted heap and cannot see straight?” I asked teasing.

“Da and you really know me. She thought she did. It matters not as that was then and this is now.” He said closing his eyes.

“What the hell?” he asked me.

“I owed one of the lower Kamis. He brought Sheng back from the Netherworld and he wanted a babe. That was more than five years ago and he said he would give me five years.” I explained.

“You carry this creature's child?” he asked.

“I keep my word Eyal. He kept his and restored Sheng to life.” I said with pleading.

“You and that damn honor shit! Of course you would keep your word. You would rather die then have no honor am I correct?” he asked in anger.

“Hai.” I said raising my chin.

“I have no right to be jealous and I am not but this is bad. You cannot even hold down blood? Where are you supposed to gain nourishment from?” he asked sitting by him.

I leaned forward and began retching again. I was able to keep down a little food with a draught and Kaito's own blood. I laid my head down upon the stone floor and felt immense exhaustion come over me.

“This creature is one of these Tomoshibi wraiths?” he asked.

“Hai.” I murmured.

He picked me up and brought us into our room and laid me upon the bed. I rolled to my side and my eyes were heavy.

“Sleep my darling. I shall be back soon.” He said.

I had no energy to talk and I felt him port out.

“What is wrong?” she asked him.

“Your daughter cannot keep even blood down, my blood she cannot even hold it down.” He said concerned.

“She made a deal with Kaito who brought back Sheng. She felt that she had betrayed Sheng when he died and Kaito somehow restored him. He made her swear she would have his child. His is over five thousand years old and he is immensely powerful. She agreed to his terms and she recently carried through.” She explained.

“Elizaveta she will die if she cannot feed herself. Since she is not full uppyr she has to have food! Tell this Kaito that! What is it about this damn honor code?” he demanded.

“Sesshomaru is the same way. He will get pissy if he thinks his honor will be or has been tarnished.” She sighed.

“Is this just a dog daemon thing or what?” he asked.

“No it is a big deal all over the islands and amongst some of the Chinese as well. It is just how things are done here.” She shrugged.

Youshiro came into the study to ask his mother a question and he saw the creature that had raped his sister.

“What the hell?” he hissed.

“Youshiro! Calm down. This is not who you think it is.” His mother stated.

“Who do I think it is Mother?” he snapped.

“Do not dare take that tone with me boy. I will whip your ass so hard you will not sit down for two months!” she snapped in return.

“Sorry Mother.” He said bowing his head.

“I am Eyal young inu.” The uppyr leader said.

“Where is my sister? Father is going out of his mind ever since the wraith took off with her.” Youshiro said narrowing his eyes.

“Your sister is in my castle in Buda. She is sick and I am trying to find out how to help her.” The uppyr said.

Eyal felt the young inu actually dip into his mind and see an image of his castle. He was shocked at the strength of one so young. This male rivaled his older sister in power. Youshiro ported out and Eyal looked at Augusta.

“He is just like his sister. I mean he is almost exactly like his sister. They have butted heads so many times it is awful. He looks up to her and is jealous at the same time.” She explained.

“I was shielding and he just entered my mind.” Eyal said.

“Well that was rude!” she said standing.

“How far have you developed with your own powers?” he asked bluntly.

“I can kill with a mere thought.” She admitted.

“Elizaveta you have birthed two more powerful then me.” He said stunned.

“I doubt that.” She said.

“I assure you that is the truth. Where do I find this Tomoshibi?” he asked raising a brow.

“Mount Fuji seems the easiest.” She said.

“Take me there?” I asked.

“Da.” She said coming and taking his arm.

She ported him and herself to the top of Mount Fuji. Augusta looked around and took a deep breath.

“Kaito! I need to speak to you! Show yourself please.” She said loudly.

“I think they heard you on Shikoku.” Kaito said from behind the two uppyr.

“Do you not sense Asuna?” Augusta asked sweetly.

“You know damn well I do not watch her all the time.” He snapped.

“You know who this is?” she asked him.

“Hai it is Eyal of the Asher tribe also known as Vlad Tepest. I have been around along time uppyr. I watched over Akana.” He said sitting upon a boulder.

“You allowed her to commit suicide.” Eyal said narrowing his eyes.

“I had duties here in Japan that called me home at that time. I was more than horrified at what happened.” He said his eyes clouding over in remembrance.

“Well she carries your babe as you asked her to and she cannot hold down the basics. She will die and so will the creature she carries.” Eyal said in anger.

“I understand your disdain for wraiths but I am not a Shouten uppyr. I am completely different and my babe is not a creature! It is a wraith and uppyr mix.” He snapped.

“Well then you need to help her! You really think that her mates will stand by as she wastes away because of you?” Eyal growled.

Kaito looked furious and he fazed out. Eyal turned to Augusta and he sighed.

“You think he went to her?” he asked.

“I need to go back to Buda.” He said then ported away.

Augusta sighed and followed after Vlad. She appeared in Buda and she saw Youshiro holding his sister and she was sick. Eyal looked helpless and Youshiro actually looked furious.

“Mother I am taking her home.” He said firmly.

“I think that is best. Yasu can maybe help her.” She said softly.

“Hai but Father and Yasu are both furious with Suna. They bound her yoki.” He commented.

“They did what?” Eyal looked horrified.

“Hai. Yasu said it was for her own good and Father went along with it. Maybe they were right.” Youshiro commented.

“No that is the last thing she needs. Bring her home and I will be there shortly.” She commanded.

Youshiro ported out with his big sister and Augusta looked at Eyal.

“Will Rina be alright without her?” she asked.

“I can manage. I would prefer she stay here.” He said straightening his back.

“Vlad you have to share Rina with her siblings. You shelter her here so much.” Augusta pointed out.

“Elizaveta she is mine. She is my baby girl and I will share her with no one save her mother. Now help her as I obviously cannot right now. I intend to learn more about wraith physiology.” He said bowing.

Augusta sighed and ported back to the West. Ever since Quon had died and Asuna had been fostering Zihao with the Bengal, Chen had about lost his head completely. He was bent on revenge and barely ever saw Masami and she actually let it stay that way. She walked into Asuna's chambers and she was shocked to see Kaito holding her and his wrist pressed to her mouth. Youshiro stood by with a hateful look on his face.

“You waited till she was here?” Augusta asked.

“Uppyr and wraiths are natural enemies. It would not have been wise to walk into their stronghold.” He said looking up.

Kaito's eyes actually were changing and the Western Lady was shocked.

“You are sharing your yoki with her?” she asked surprised.
”She gives me hers all the time.” He said looking down at her lovingly.

“This is not about your babe anymore! You love her!” Augusta accused.

“I have always loved her.” Kaito commented.

“Yeah so much that you are killing her.” Youshiro smarted off.

“You should speak Prince Youshiro. Leave me alone!” Kaito said growling.

I heard a ruckus and actually came to. My stomach was calmed and I saw Kaito over me. I turned my eyes to Youshiro and his own met mine. His eyes mirrored our sire and he was actually worried about me. I wondered when Youshiro gave a damn about anyone but himself.

“That is not fair sister!” he snapped.

“Oh?” I asked him.

“No it is not. I worry over you all the time. It is difficult when you are everywhere and then nowhere. You are the most like me and you never make time for your siblings ever anymore!” he snapped.

“I have things that need my attention!” I hissed.

“Youshiro perhaps now is not the time.” Mother stated.

“Now is the time! Everyone fawns and simpers around her and I will not. She is just like me are you not sister?” he demanded.

“What in the hell do you mean?” I asked sitting up fully.

“I mean that you cannot control one half or the other. You lose your mind in yourself trying to suppress it all.” He stated.

I realized suddenly why Youshiro acted the way he did. I pushed myself to standing and moved over to him.

“You have been having surges in your uppyr yoki?” I asked him softly.

“Hai. You could help me but you are never here!” he snapped.

“I am sorry. I have been remiss.” I said taking his hand.

He was angry that I was gone so much and his visits to Shanghai suddenly made sense. Osamu was ending up more inu and Youshiro and I were more uppyr like. It seemed strange I wondered how this had happened.

“Kaito thank you for helping. I may need to stay close.” I commented.

“Hai I think that wise. You do not need your yoki bound but you do need a Tomoshibi close by.” He said softly.

“Do not hang on right now. I am fine and you need your rest.” I said nodding to him.

He nodded and I felt him caress my inner self and I blushed hotly. He fazed out and my younger brother and mother stared at me. My mother nodded and left me and Youshiro to talk.

“When did all this start brother?” I asked.

“I do not know. I just know that I feel alone. I hate how I feel yet I cannot help myself. You are the only one who truly gets it.” He sighed looking out onto my balcony.

“I feel the most normal amongst the uppyr Youshiro. Maybe you should go and spend some time in Novgorod.” I suggested.

“How is anything different amongst them?” he asked.

“I hate that I am suggesting this but join with a pure uppyr female then tell me how you feel. It makes a difference. I also feel quite at home amongst the Tsuchigumo as they are highly telepathic. It makes it easier.” I shrugged.

“Should I mate?” he asked perplexed.

“Kamis no! You are too young for that.” I laughed.

“Then what?” he asked.

“Youshiro, you need to come with me for awhile.” I said shaking my head.

“For what?” he questioned.

“Mongolia. I am killing some wraiths.” I smiled wider.

“Where is your fang?” he asked.

“Buda. You need to meet the rest of the uppyr.” I said taking his hand.

I ported us to the uppyr strong hold and Youshiro looked around bored. He looked so much like our sire it was unnerving. I did as well but obviously female. I went to Eyal's room and retrieved my fang and Youshiro brought up the rear. I slipped in and watched my uppyr mate rocking Rina. Youshiro saw her and actually smiled. Rina had begun to smile and she grinned at her uncle.

“She is beautiful but why is she never in the West?” Youshiro asked.

“Because she is my daughter and she shall stay with her mother or me.” Eyal snapped.

“Touchy.” My brother said.

“Da I am touchy. Asuna why is he here?” Eyal asked.

“Because he needs to be and I needed my fang.” I said and I kissed Rina.

“Where are you going now?” he asked in irritation.

“Wherever I wish. I love you.” I said smiling.

He tried to keep his face neutral but I could tell he was beginning to perspire from my mental torture. Youshiro had no clue and I blinked my eyes at Eyal. He breathed roughly and he stayed seated.

“Youshiro would you like to hold Rina?” I asked softly.

“Hai.” He replied and I took Rina from Eyal.

I passed her to Youshiro and he talked to her in Japanese and Eyal glared at me.

“Shall you finish?” I asked in his ear.

“Release me.” He moaned softly in my ear.

“Why would I do that?” I asked him sweetly.

He grabbed me and ported us away. He was maddened and his fangs sank into my throat. I groaned and he ended up pulling back.

“You tease me endlessly my darling but after you deliver that babe I am going to take you and you will not stand for a week.” He growled in my ear.

“Asuna, you need to be more careful. I want you here to raise our daughter.” He said gently.

I knocked on the door and Anya answered. She sneered at me and Youshiro and I raised my brow to her.

“Sorry majesty.” She muttered.

“Majesty?” Youshiro asked.

“I am mated to Vlad.” I shrugged.

Youshiro shook his head and Viktor came down the stairs. He smiled at me and I bowed.

“Uncle Viktor have you met Youshiro?” I asked.

“Once and briefly.” Viktor said bowing.

“Hello.” Youshiro said bowing.

“What brings you here niece?” he asked.

“Well it seems that Youshiro is having surges of his uppyr yoki as well. I figured he would learn things here that we could not teach him in Japan.” I replied.

“Cousin Viktor?” I heard a voice say.

“Isidora, just a moment my dear.” Viktor said as a young woman came out from the upstairs.

She saw me and went to her knee. I looked confused and Viktor smirked.

“Word has gotten around of who you are and who you mated.” He said bluntly,

“You did not know that Vlad has a likeness of you in Buda?” he asked raising a brow.

“No, I did not.” I said blushing.

Youshiro smirked and looked at the woman named Isidora. She looked up and had very light brown eyes and the blackest hair. She looked some like our mother and I looked at Viktor.

“She is related to Danika and Ileska.” He explained softly.

“Hello.” I said in Russian.

“My lady.” She bowed low.

“What is your name?” I asked

“Isidora Lesya Shakirova.” She said.

“I am glad to meet you.” I said softly.

“I shall go Cousin Viktor. It is so good to meet you majesty. Good to meet you sir.” She bowed before Youshiro.

“This is my brother Prince Youshiro Samul Vadik Orlovich.” I said introducing my brother.

Youshiro bowed and Isidora did as well. My brother kept his eyes hooded and I kicked him with my foot. Viktor looked amused and Isidora's eyes lingered for a moment and she slipped past us and out the door. Viktor led us down some stairs and he poured some wine but I nodded no. Youshiro took it and sipped on it. I could see where his mind was and I growled low. He stared at me and nodded.

“So nephew you are having surges or urges?” Viktor asked bluntly.

“Surges uncle. I have been able to project like my sister here. I have been able to much with my mind.” He shrugged.

“Well then you are in a good place then.” Viktor said sipping his wine.

I bowed out and went to the outside. I leaned against a fairly short tree and watched the Russian night. I heard chuckling and I looked over to see Teiran Huber.

“A little out of your lands do you not think?” I asked raising a brow.

“So are you.” She snapped.

“No, I am pretty sure I am in my family's duchy.” I said snapping.

Her words were rather brazen and my eyes widened.

I heard nothing and I pathed to Ishin and I still heard nothing.

I was more than furious and wondered how in the hell she had got to them.

Naraku woke up and he had the worst headache and his stomach was growling from hunger. He was in a very opulent room with gaudy furnishings and lace everywhere. He had no idea what had happened. He and Ishin had been in Vietnam dealing with some rather obstinate widows when he had blacked out. He did not see Ishin anywhere. He noticed a woman standing in the doorway and she had dark hair and olive colored skin.

“You are awake.” She said in Russian.

“Who in the Kamis name are you?” he demanded.

“Adelina Huber. You are Naraku.” She said coming closer.

“I am. Why have I been brought here?” he demanded.

“My sister is obsessed with your brother. He is quite striking as are you.” She said whispering softly.

“Do not come near me!” he hissed.

“You have no real power here. We had to bind you quite tightly as you are incredibly powerful.” She purred.

“How did you manage to even capture us?” he said narrowing his mahogany eyes.

“Oh that is our secret. You have been rumored to be the most powerful daemon that your islands produced.” She said settling on the bed next to him.

“Your presence offends me. Leave me alone.” He snapped.

“Well now. I am sure Teiran has your brother up and around by now.” She laughed.

He tried to change his form and he could not. He tried anything and he was stuck in his humanoid body. He snarled in rage and went to strike the onna named Adelina and she caught his hand. She smirked at him and actually pushed him back.

“You will be mine to enjoy. I hope you know that.” She smirked.

He growled loudly and she laughed. She sat up and brazenly reached into his hakama. He froze when her claws were near his groin.

“Just feel then maybe you will not be so cross.” She said as she sank her claws rather close to his male parts.

His eyes widened when her venom reacted in his blood. He squeezed his eyes shut and heat and pressure coursed through him.

“You let that work through your system and then we shall see how you are.” She said standing.

Adelina smiled and slipped from the room. Naraku fought back a groan and wondered where the hell Ishin was.

Ishin's face contorted but he still moved in her and fought off the exquisite feeling of her walls squeezing his member. She felt as if her bones were gone and she was pulled into another release. She felt his tongue and mouth roughly suckling her and she arched her body. He moved his lips to the other and nipped at her peak and then lightly bit it. She coaxed his lips to her own and he delved his tongue into her waiting mouth. He moaned as she slowly released her power. He hungrily took her and her lips. His mind was lost completely and the beast began dominating her totally. She gasped over and over as he slowed how fast he thrust but he increased how hard he pummeled her. Teiran lost all thought as she felt him completely. She had forgotten how it could be and she could not breathe as their combined power bore down on her. She distantly felt herself tighten and spasm but she felt his. She actually screamed and he muffled it with a kiss. She rode out his own release and he pulled back and fell beside her. She wanted to sleep but she saw him roll away from her.

“You regret that?” she demanded.

“Absolutely!” he hissed.

“Is your dog that amazing?” she said in a sudden fury.

“More.” He growled.

“I like your beast better.” She said snapping.

“You got what you wanted now release me.” He growled.

“What would you do if I killed the silver haired canine?” she asked as she stood.

“You could not. She would kill you first!” he said glaring at her.

“You are sorry!” she snapped as she put on her dressing gown.

“You are a good fuck but I suppose half the leaders of Europe would know that.” He said snidely.

“Well I shall have to tell your mate how you so happily took me and tried to get me pregnant.” She said smirking.

He came up and grabbed her throat.

“I held back on that whore. Only my mate will bear my younglings.” He snarled.

“So sure? You lie!” she laughed.

She actually broke his grip and walked out of the room. He sat upon the bed and wondered what in the Kamis name he had just done.

Naraku actually could sense Ishin and his brother was feeling terrible guilt. He sighed and the ache was coursing through him too. These female kumo were dangerous in his mind and memories of Jing coursed through him. Disgust overwhelmed him and he wanted to vomit. He only ever rutted on his terms and no one else. He had news for the dark haired kumo and he would tear her apart. He knew Asuna would have figured out she did not sense them by now and he had to bide his time. He was pressed against a wall and looking for a weakness in the barrier in the room. He found a small window and the barrier was weaker but still there. He wrapped his hand in a cloth and actually punched through the glass. He looked out and he was rather high up. He sighed and slipped an arm out. He was a master of escape having done it for years escaping the mutts and their tachi's. He felt his yoki surge and he punched through the rest of the window. He changed into a cloud of his miasma and reached the outside. He sensed Ishin and managed to shatter the glass of his room as well. He appeared back in his humanoid form and Ishin jumped up.

“Quit feeling and looking guilty. Asuna would never say a word. Do not worry on it!” he commanded.

“You did not sense it did you?” Ishin asked.

“No brother I have problems of my own.” He said grimacing.

“The sister?” he asked.

“Hai the sister.” He growled.

Ishin felt terrible but he pulled himself together and got up into the window sill. He felt Teiran's aura and he turned.

“Very clever really but there is no escape. You Lord Ishin are way to easy to feel in your poor guilt.” She sneered.

“Shut up whore!” he hissed.

“Ye,s I tire of your insults. You Naraku I am surprised my sister did not claim you.” She said crossing her arms.

“I am not a plaything. I assure I have a much deadlier past than my brother does.” He said narrowing his eyes.

“Oh yes I have heard. You are a master strategist they say but you have never faced me or Adelina. You will find your power quite snuffed out by now. You might as well get down Ishin. I do like the view of your backside, it is quite delicious.” She said laughing.

Naraku sensed the other kumo female but she was not readily seen. He looked around carefully and he could not see her. He was getting agitated and wanted to lash out fiercely. He suddenly felt pincers grasp him tightly and he snarled. She was in her true form and if he moved too much she would tear him up. He watched Teiran seal the window with her silk and he actually fought harder. Ishin came at Teiran and they fell to the floor in a growling snarling mess. He snarled furiously but he felt his side pierced with a sharp point. It caused him to go limp and he was barely conscious. Adelina changed back and held him in her arms. She laid him on the floor and jumped on Ishin who was snarling in a fury and managed to bloody her sister. Adelina sank her claws in the base of his neck and he collapsed.

“Damn! He is so strong!” Teiran cried.

“I had to inject them both heavily. They are more than powerful. How odd that the males are so strong!” Adelina stated.

“Oh yes. Make sure you take that male and show him who rules here!” Teiran commanded.

“Oh that will be my pleasure.” Adelina smirked.

“He will be mine.” Teiran said looking at Ishin.

“He looks like he would be easier then his brother.” Adelina said.

“Yes.” She said.

“Lift the barrier so I can port him back to my room.” Her sister asked.

“Done.” Teiran remarked.

Adelina pulled Naraku into her cloud and disappeared.

Naraku came to slowly and he watched the female kumo with anger in his eyes. She looked to be in a foul mood and he said nothing.

“Who hurt you in such a disgusting manner?” she demanded.

“The scar on my back is from my creation.” He snapped.

“I do not mean that scar. I mean the ones on your thighs and back.” She said raising a brow.

“That is none of your Kamis damn business!” he yelled.

“Did someone rape you?” she asked raising a black brow.

“Leave me alone whore.” He hissed.

“Tell me who did this!” she said forcefully coming closer to him.

“I said it was none of your business. I will kill you if you touch me again. I am not my brother and I have a horrid temper.” He warned her.

“Oh he has a pretty bad one as well. Who would dare touch you?” she asked in a softer tone.

“You apparently must be deaf and it is no business of yours!” he said narrowing his eyes.

She actually felt anger at whoever had hurt him in such a way. Adelina grabbed his hand and pinned it to her head board with silk. She repeated the actions quickly with his other one as well. He glared at her and she pulled the blanket off of him and inspected the old scars. Hatred welled up in him at the memories of the wraith. His lip curled in disdain and she did not touch him licentiously but in concern.

“Wraith?” she asked.

“Stay out of my thoughts! They are my own.” He growled.

“A male wraith did this to you?” she demanded.

“So what if it did? He died a horrible death.” He growled again.

“I should hope he did.” She said in a sweet tone.

“Let me go and I will not kill you.” He snapped.

“You would let me live? How considerate of you. We have been spying on you and your brother. Your mate is a stupid and demented fool.” She said softly.

“I do not believe I was asking for your opinion.” He sneered.

“You are magnificent you know. I have rarely seen a man so beautiful.” She said in a very low tone.

“I am glad you think so but your opinion really does not matter now does it?” he said sneering again.

“Actually it does. I will have you know we are moving against your mate. We are going to crush her and eventually kill her. She has made enemies everywhere she goes.” She said standing.

“Why are you daring to do this?” he snarled.

“Because we can. We take what we want the same as she and we want your clans.” She said bluntly.

“She is the mother to my young!” he said in a rage.

“There is no room for your brood. Your younglings will die.” She said sadly.

Fear possessed him and he went for her throat. She slashed his face and neck with sharp claws and he fell back. He realized that her venom was as potent as or more so than Ishin's. She stood and sighed.

“You will learn to adapt. It is what you do after all right?” she asked.

“I hate you. I will free myself and my brother and you will die!” he said as his eyes glowed a fierce crimson.

“Your daughter is Mizuki right? Ishin's is Ayana?” she asked innocently.

A cold sweat broke out on Naraku's skin and he knew real and terrible dread. He refused to answer and Adelina looked at him sadly.

“Mizuki will be dead already. I dispatched the baby myself.” She said with a cruel smile.

He fought back bile but failed and he vomited. Ishin would go mad and he prayed his little girl was alright. Adelina laughed and left him to his paralyzing fear.
