The Kumo Past

I was immersed in the libraries of Shenyang reading all Tekeshi had gathered on oni youki. Myths surrounding them were profound and immense. Truth was what I was looking for and I intended to find it. I had said nothing to no one about the manifestation of my yoki and Ishin had a present in the form of Bihua at his castle. I was immersed in my scrolls when I sensed my kumo mate. He stood in the doorway and I looked up.

“How was Akane's shrine?” I asked without looking up.

“Good. Karu feels a little guilty that he calls you mother but he will get over it. Why is Bihua shackled at Sendai?” he asked.

“He showed up and it pissed me off.” I said looking up.

“He is still unconscious.” Ishin said raising a brow.

“So? He says the recluse will pay fealty to you and Naraku. That is all I wanted.” I replied.

“Aya says you showed your yoki in a very strange way.” He said softly.

I sighed as I stood up. I ported us into the fields outside of the Summer palace and I flung the wave from my hand as if I had my fang. Several nearby trees exploded and Ishin was stunned.

“I am guessing it is a combination of my two halves. I cannot otherwise explain it.” I said shaking my head.

“Kamis Asuna that is incredible!” he said finally speaking.

“Hai well I need to learn to control it better.” I said looking at the piles logs and leaves. Ishin pulled me into his arms and I knew he sensed my guilt.

“It is different do you understand? Better Nobu then that fucking recluse! Do you understand I am not angry or hurt?” he said lifting my chin.

“I am angry at myself! Enough I shall not dwell. I am going to meet with Chikara this very afternoon.” I said pulling away and moving back towards the palace.

“When did you become a spideress?” he asked.

He meant no disrespect in fact I was acting like a female kumo.

“When I quit fighting my destiny. You and Naraku; your lands are my destiny. Making us the most powerful is my mission. Making you and him the undisputed rulers of all the Asian arachnids. All the rest of the world will fear and respect you. That is what I am doing!” I said meeting his eyes.

“The legends of my grandmere are grand. They said she was unlike any onna that Japan had produced. You inu are greater then she.” Ishin said softly.

I blushed at his words and I bowed before him. He seemed amused at my antics.

“You Lord Ishin are a flirt. Come my love and sense your daughter.” I said smiling.

He grinned at me and picked me up. I kept my façade up and I was truly happy but I was fighting off all my feelings. He ported us back to Sendai and laid me on the futon. He pressed his ear to my belly and smiled wide. I closed my eyes and reveled. I felt my beloved Naraku enter and he chuckled. He too pressed his ear to my belly and I laughed aloud. Ishin sat up and so did Naraku.

“She has to show you something.” Ishin grinned.

“Indeed? What is it koi?” he asked.

“Baka! Can we not leave it alone?” I asked.

“No. You need to learn to harness that particular yoki my dear. It is truly the most devastating attack I have seen.” Ishin said getting up.

“Fine. Is Bihua awake?” I demanded.

“Hai and very angry. Why did you not tell me he harmed you?” Naraku asked.

“Because as Hisashi he was your good friend.” I said.

I had not said how he had attacked me and I would not if I could reason with the recluse lord. He pulled me and I went to my “guest”. He glared at me and also with pure lust.

“You were bested in a fair fight. You will submit the recluse and reunite this kingdom.” I said kneeling near him.

“You! I swear fealty to you only. My kind will only follow you.” He said bluntly.

“Pardon?” Ishin asked in sudden agitation.

“I knew the great Ayana. I would swear on my life that is her in this body! She has her yoki.” Bihua said.

Ishin and Naraku stared at me and I shook my head fiercely.

“No. I am uppyr and inu. I do not have a kumo past.” I said.

“Why does she have the supaida nami?” Bihua demanded.

“Is that what that is called?” I asked.

“Yes. Ayana wielded that yoki and I have never seen a kumo onna wield it since. You are Ayana.” Bihua said emphatically.

“No. I am not. That would be disgusting!” I hissed.

“Show Hisashi.” Bihua said smugly.

I sighed and released the energy from my hand. A retaining wall exploded outward. Ishin's face dropped as well as Naraku's. I was stunned and I stepped back.

“I am not her. I only have similar yoki.” I said fumbling.

“Whatever you wish to think Lady Asuna but you are my ruler and I will face down your enemies and theirs as long as they are your mates.” Bihua said.

Aya moved forward and unshackled Bihua at my behest.

“Aya is the commander of the Tsuchigumo armies. You will speak to her to answer to us. Go before I spank your ass all the way back to Siam.” I said.

“Promise?” he asked in a very low tone that my inu ears picked up.

“Leave!” I snapped.

He smirked and bowed low before me. Ishin and Naraku were still speechless and I grew annoyed.

“I am not her! I will not entertain the idea that I have committed incest!” I snarled at them.

They still said nothing and I stomped off. I went out into the valley below the castle and sat beneath a tree. Tamiko appeared and I sighed.

“I am not the great Ayana am I?” I asked.

“No. You are the three you have lived. You are manifesting a combination yoki like you think. It is your mixed heritage as when the recluse venom affected you different.” She shrugged.

“Thank the Kamis! I could not have handled it if I had bedded my grandsons! No thank you!” I said shuddering.

“Let the recluse think what he wants then he will stay loyal. I am off my girl for now. I shall retrieve you to send back in two weeks time.” She said standing.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because you will want to and I know you wish to be the one to kill Fusae. I would kill that whore too. Just as bad as Natsumi. Besides you need time to be with Quon.” She smiled.

“You like him!” I accused.

“Hai I do. He is a good soul with a wicked temper.” She smirked.

“Nobu?” I asked.

“My dearest I cannot tell you who to love and not. I am here for you whenever you need.” She said hugging me.

I nodded as she left. I now knew where Nobu would occasionally go when he was not at the Sendai castle or the various palaces. I ported to his childhood home near Gifu and I walked to the modest structure. I poked my head in and he was not there. I breathed deeply and masked my aura. I stepped around to his herb garden and he was weeding away. He had a tendency to wear his hair down and I came up behind him and pulled it back for him. I pressed my lips to the back of his neck and he released a soft gasp. He turned and I was captivated by his natural beauty. He started to say something but stopped short.

“My lady.” He murmured.

“Healer.” I replied.

We stared at each other and he moved first. He wrapped his arms around me and I gave into the embrace. He made no moves other than to hug me tightly.

“Nobu.” I muttered against his haori.

“What are you doing here?” he asked rather hoarsely.

I ported us both to a nearby spring. I undid his haori and his obi. I threw them from us and I was looking at his face the whole time. I splayed my hands across his chest and calmed my quickly beating heart.

“I shall be damned.” I whispered.

His eyes widened at my statement but I could not control myself. I intended to brand him to me forever. I tongued a male peak and bit it lightly. I heard his soft moans as I continued to flick my tongue against his flesh. His hands rested on the back of my head as I laved my tongue along his chest. I tasted his other flat nipple and tugged at it roughly. He hissed in pleasure as I sucked on it for a moment. I looked up and he continued to meet my eyes.

“Why do kumo normally not have pupils?” I asked softly.

“We do. It normally just matches our eye color.” He said in a shuddered tone.

“What are you feeling Nobu?” I asked as I lightly dragged my claws across his skin.

“You could be put to good use in a dungeon.” He groaned.

“Feels good to you I guess?” I asked in a deep voice.

“Hai.” He said in a whisper.

I jerked his hakama loose and pulled it down. He stepped out of them and his eyes roamed over me. I had on a heavy silk hanfu of gold with lilies embroidered all over. The bodice was embroidered with a zigzag pattern in many colors. My hair was done up and a gold diadem adorned my forehead.

“Your silks are too expensive to sully my lady.” He said as he began undressing me.

“I was in Shenyang and Ang Chi was entertaining nobles from Shandong province.” I said as he removed my outer robe.

He nodded and carefully laid the silks near his. He was repressing his true nature and his hands were trembling. Nobu removed the wide obi and sheath and I stood before him.

“I am no good with formal hair styles.” He said smiling softly.

“Allow me.” I said as I pulled combs out of my hair.

I tossed the gold onto my silks and pulled the diadem out and threw that too. He seemed amused and he moved to sink into the water. I followed him after I produced a barrier. I sat down next to him and laid my head on his shoulder. He lightly rested his head on mine and we just sat there.

“What are we doing Asuna?” he asked softly.

“Sitting in a hot spring.” I said teasingly.

“Funny. Very funny.” He said making a sweet laugh.

I sat up and guided him into the deeper part of the spring. I helped him lean his hair back and wet it.

“Wait but a moment.” I said porting to my private chambers in the West.

I grabbed bathing herbs and soaps and two yukata. I ported back to the spring and laid the yukata on the side of the spring.

“Close your eyes.” I said softly.

He did as I said and I used a small pitcher that I had brought and wet his hair again. I worked the honeysuckle and ginger soap through his hair. I rinsed the soap from his ebony tresses and Nobu just stayed still. I began to run the cake of soap over his skin and he sighed a little as I worked it into lather and all over.

“I have never had anyone bathe me before.” He whispered.

“You should have.” I said in a soft tone.

I began kissing along his shoulder and up his neck. I was standing behind him and splayed my hands across his wet chest. I closed my eyes as I took in his scent. I slipped my hands to his member and he sucked in his breath. I dragged my fangs across his skin as I watched his pulse become erratic. He was stiff as I gently stroked him.

“What am I Asuna?” he asked.

“A beautiful male. Your heart is so good.” I replied hoarsely.

I dipped into his soul and that sent him over the edge; I saw his claws dig into the ground as he jerked and he was spent. I was almost purring and I took his release greedily. I slowly lifted my head so I did not injure him and his chest was heaving as he tried in vain to catch his breath. I kissed him and he groaned into it. I slowly pulled back and stared at his reddened eyes too.

“You have never been pleasured as such I can see. Misconception about our fangs. We have to try harder.” I said in a passion laden voice.

“Intense.” He said with a shaky breath.

“Hai.” I said straddling his hips. He closed his eyes a moment and then opened them.

“Hai.” He gulped.

His eyes watched me as I began to rub the head of his member against my weeping entrance. His body reacted and Nobu was growling in need again. I suddenly sank on him and both of us snarled out. He was clutching and grasping me as our movements and yoki were colliding. He ripped his lips from mine and gasped harder and I felt it too. The frenzy of the moment had invoked a rather harsh pull on our telepathic minds. The building mass of energy was let loose and I did faint away. I came to and I roused Nobu. Our culmination had taken us both by surprise and he finally looked at me.

“I have lost feeling in my hips.” He said sheepishly.

“Must have been this way awhile.” I mumbled as I slowly crawled off of him.

I too was sore and I lay beside him on my back. He turned his head and stared at me and I did the same.

“I have to get back soon.” He murmured.

“I know. You have responsibilities and gardens to conquer.” I said smiling.

“Hai.” He stated with a soft smile.

I sat up and slipped back into the water. I washed my body and my hair and I caught him watching me. I quickly rinsed and crawled out of the hot spring and grabbed my yukata that I had brought.

“Remember to grab all the gold my lady. That is worth a fortune.” He stated as he wrapped the yukata around himself.

“Hai. They were gifts from Quon.” I said smiling.

“How is the Byakko Prince?” Nobu asked as he tied his hair back.

“Good. I need to see him.” I said wistfully.

He went to bow and I moved to him. I whispered all manner of lewd things in his ear and he blushed. I kissed him softly and stepped back and bowed. I ported first and I realized I would kill another onna who dared touch him. I was overly possessive of the healer and my thoughts shocked myself. I ported to Hunan to see my Byakko mate.

I was tidying up Quon's rooms as it was obvious that Zihao, Yuming, and Masami had all been playing and destroying. I picked up the many dolls and toys that would have been trampled under foot. Quon came in and looked surprised to see me. I was still in my yukata and my hair still damp.

“I have servants Asuna.” He said amused.

“Well the cubs should know to clean up Quon. You spoil them!” I said smirking.

“As if you do not spoil all your offspring. Let me see; you handed your oldest son almost all of Han China.” He said smiling.

“You look really good my darling. Your color has returned and you look magnificent.” I said perusing him.

“Thank you. My ba has asked something of me I do not think I can do.” He said sitting on his bed.

I heard his thoughts and scowled.

“He wants more cubs from you?” I asked.

“Hai. He just wants to make sure in the event of well you know.” He said blushing.

“You have stated that you will not allow me to give you anymore.” I said raising a brow.

“I know.” He said not meeting my eyes.

I growled at the idea but I had to be pragmatic and fair. Chen knew I was a level headed ruler and I nodded.

“You should. I have to approve the tigress though.” I said bluntly.

“How can you say that?” he demanded.

“Because your ba is right. I have other mates and you should too.” I said tightly.

“Asuna, how could I do that?” he demanded.

“Because Quon you are the heir to this large land and it is necessary to continue your family's dynasty.” I said bluntly.

“I hate this!” He snapped.

“Why dearest? I am still your wife and mate. I am the princess of Hunan another would only be your concubine.” I said softly.

“You will choose for I cannot. I would rather my cubs come from your body but I will not have you die!” He said in anger.

“When does your ba want this?” I asked.

“As soon as possible. You speak with him.” He said leaving in anger.

“Quon! My love please think reasonably my dear. You do this for the Byakko.” I said softly.

“I swore after we reconciled that I would touch no other nu zi. You already rule several lands and I cannot be angry about your mates. I am just the heir.” He said looking away.
”As reckless as your ba has been in the past you may end up the lord of Hunan.” I said bluntly.

“You have a way with words.” He said meeting my eyes.

“Well it is the truth. How often has Masami been here?” I asked.

“Your sire has allowed her to come every time Yoshiko comes. She is something already Asuna. She is showing similar abilities as yours.” He said.

“Well my mother's yoki is very powerful. I shall dress and meet with your ba.” I said.

He nodded and left in a fit. I was honored by his loyalty but Chen was right. I dressed myself in a haori and hakama and went to the den of the current lord. Masami was sitting in his lap and she was learning to write Chinese characters.

“Hello my darling sister.” I said sitting.

“Hi Suna.” She said shyly.

“Could you allow Lord Chen and I a moment my sweet?” I asked.

“Hai.” She said chewing on a claw.

Chen let her down and she hugged his legs. She looked up at him and smiled widely. Chen actually released a low yowl and she smiled wider. She took off and I sat down.

“What did you tell her?” I asked softly.

“That I love her. What may I do for you?” he asked.

“Quon will do as you ask but I have to choose the tigress.” I said bluntly.

“That is rather high handed.” He said raising a brow.

“He does not want to do it Chen.” I said bluntly.

“Fine. I was hoping to enter into negotiations with that snot Ming Li.” He said in a growl.

“He has two sisters as you know and the youngest is quite agreeable. I know Lord Ming Li well.” I said.

“I have heard that. How well did you know him Asuna?” Chen asked.

“That is not your business and I shall enter into the treaty if you like.” I said raising a brow.

“Will this tigress have claim to her cubs?” he asked.

“I have not decided that. I will speak with Ming Li this day.” I said flatly.

I stood and ported to Lhasa. I was given entrance immediately and I smiled widely at the soldiers I knew. Ming Li immediately came to me and hugged me tightly and spun me in a circle.

“Hello Li!” I said laughing.

“You have been on my mind and here you are.” He said laughing.

“Well I have matters of state to discuss.” I said softly.

“Then come to my chambers.” He said pulling me along.

I laughed and was dragged behind him. As soon as the door was shut I was up against it. He was kissing me silly and I knew he would go no further. Finally he let me go and I had to stand there for a few minutes.

“What urgent matter of state?” he asked tracing my jaw with his claw.

“Quon needs a concubine and Chen wants one of your sisters.” I said bluntly.

“Why would he think I would allow that?” he asked arching a brow.

“Because I am asking.” I said meeting his blue eyes.

“I see. He will not allow you to carry any more of his cubs.” He said nodding.

“No Byakko shoki does very bad things to me. He is afraid but Quon does not want to do it but I told him I would choose the tigress. I know your sister and I could trust her I think.” I said.

“You give me an heir and Quon can have my sister.” He said crossing his arms.

I choked and he was quite serious. I shook my head and he sat down to pour himself some wine.

“I see it as fair.” He said meeting my eyes.

“That would cause conflict and you know it!” I said in annoyance.

“I should like a cub from your body as I know it would be strong and quite powerful.” He said sipping his glass of white wine.

“Li you have become quite the manipulative cad!” I snapped.

“Think on it Asuna and I shall give Ruolan to Quon.” He said smirking.

“Quon will go through the roof!” I hissed.

“I imagine you could make the Gods themselves your slaves my beautiful lover.” He said standing.

I growled at him and I ported back to Hunan. I went into Chen's den and he looked up. He could see I was angry and he motioned for me to sit.

“What did he say?” he asked.

“He said he would give Ruolan to Quon as a concubine if I give him an heir.” I said through clenched teeth.

“That arrogant bastard!” Chen snapped.

I sat back and watched Chen. He sat down in anger and he yelled for a servant to get Quon. We waited several minutes and Quon made an appearance.

“That arrogant little bastard said he would give you his younger sister for an heir from Asuna.” Chen hissed.

Quon stared at me and his face grew furious. I put up my hand to calm him.

“Why would he even think that was a plausible scenario? You cannot give me cubs but you give them to him?” Quon snarled.

“Because she had an affair with him after you passed on.” Chen said in anger.

Quon stared at me and looked away. He turned his eyes back to me and he had a rather sly look on his face.

“Do it.” He said with malice.

“What?” I asked in disbelief.

“Give him his heir and tie Qinghai to Xizang. I shall adopt his cub here.” Quon said maliciously.

“You plan on subjugating the Bengals!” I accused.

“Why not? I cannot say a thing about your past liaison but I sure as hell can now!” Quon snapped.

I stood up in anger and he grabbed me. He held my jaw firmly but not to hurt me.

“You are mine Asuna. You have stood by me and reinstated our marriage and mating. That sorry bastard will give me a cub that I cannot provide you.” He said in a snarly tone.

“I will give another if you let me!” I hissed.

“And watch you suffer as you did when you bore Zihao? I would rather not loose you in such a horrendous manner. My sources tell me that your Western heir nearly killed you and that was an inu pup! You have issues with the spiderlings! Why would I subject you to that?” he asked shaking me.

“Because!” I said holding his face.

“No! Absolutely not!” he said in a fierce tone.

“Quon why not try son?” Chen asked.

“Because I love her! I love her and I would rather die again then loose her ba!” he yelled.

I looked away and I sighed. I moved to the window and looked out.

“I cannot give anyone anything right now because I carry Ishin's daughter.” I said softly.

“How many have you given him?” Quon asked shocked.

“Ayana, Iyo, and Jouichi. I took the babe that Teiran Huber bore and his name is Katsu.” I said sighing.

“You have had the twins and Jouichi. You now are pregnant again?” Quon asked in anger.

“Look it happened. You know I am mated so deal with it!” I said.

“I am not angry that you have other mates but I am angry that they are such morons as to not give you time to heal!” He snapped.

“I have been in the past for months at a time. I have been dealing with issues from with the Tsuchigumo.” I said tightly.

“What issues?” he asked.

“I am bringing all the kumo back together as they were before Ishin's mother betrayed his sire. Lord Gaku Jouichi was a great ruler and good man before Fusae destroyed him.” I said meeting his eyes.

“How many species?” Quon asked.

“The funnels, widows, recluse, ookami, and tarantulas.” I stated.

“That is a huge coalition.” Chen stated surprised.

“Hai. Ishin and Naraku's grandmere was named Ayana. She apparently had a very good flair for administration. She was a funnel female and a warrior. She was mated to two brothers of the funnel nobility and produced Lord Jouichi who in turn sired Hisashi and Ishin.” I explained.

“Very interesting.” Chen said sitting.

“Hai their history is long and very involved. I have meet Jouichi several times and I have been watching Fusae in the past. I have also found Magatushi in his original form. He is an oni.” I explained.

“So Lord Ishin cannot keep his hands off of you?” Quon asked in irritation.

“He is a telepath of great strength Quon. Kumo young are brought about quite differently then other youki. You know I do not control my yoki in such intense moments! You know that so why are you angry?” I asked.

“I wish to speak to Lord Ishin.” Quon said evenly.

“He does not interfere in my life here and he will see you talking to him about it as an affront.” I said.

“He will see me.” Quon snapped.

“Do not push it Quon! Leave it alone.” I said sighing.

“If you die bearing his young then I will kill him! Do you hear me? I will slay him most cruelly.” He said leaving the den.

I sighed and Chen looked at me frankly.

“I think we shall put the issue of more cubs off for now. He is not ready and he will get homicidal if something were to happen to you again.” He said bluntly.

“You tigers are out of your fucking minds!” I snapped.

Chen chuckled and I went to find Quon. He was pacing in the gardens and I came up behind him. He grabbed me and pressed me to an ornamental tree.

“You tell Ming Li he can have his heir but I will have his sister now! You will preside over everything and I will adopt the cub here. He will have to wait at least two years before you bear anything! You are my wife and chief mate and I will only have anything to do with her when I need to.” He growled in my ear.

“Quon.” I sighed.

“I understand the needs of the state Asuna. I understand my duties but the tigress will only be here for that reason. I will have to get drunk to even contemplate it.” He said.

“That would not be fair to her.” I said.

“She is a tigress and should understand our ways. My heart belongs to you and to you only.” He said running his fingers along my jaw.

I closed my eyes and he ran a finger over my lips. I kissed it and he growled intensely.

“My inu.” He said taking my lips.

We ended up back in his chambers and he made rather fierce love to me. I cried out as he had remarked me. The politics of the tigers were heating up again and again I was in the middle of it.

I was back in Sendai dealing with pups and mates. Ishin came into his study and pressed his hand to my belly and kissed my lips. I smiled up at him and he smiled in return.

“I received a rather surprising letter from your tiger.” He said.

“Quon!” I growled.

“Well he flatly demanded that I not get you pregnant again for a long while.” He said amused.

“He is taking a concubine to produce more cubs. He will not allow me to carry his young anymore.” I said bitterly.

“He has good sense.” Ishin said.

“I can give you as many babes as you wish but I cannot give my husband another cub?” I demanded.

“You are the consort of the Tsuchigumo. You are princess of Hunan inu. You status here is higher and we are your chief mates. Sorry.” He said stepping back.

I sighed and calmed down. He sat down on pillows and began reading his letters.

“I love you Ishin.” I said looking up.

“I know. So does Naraku.” He said without looking up.

I laughed a little and stood. I stretched and went to the window.

“Go see Nobu. You look a little thin.” He said looking up.

“Do I?” I asked stunned.

“Hai. You should be a little bigger by now.” He said.

I nodded and went in search of Nobu. I stopped by Aya's regiments and she was yelling at a warrior. She looked up and quickly stood and bowed.

“My lady?” she asked.

“Where is Nobu? Ishin wants him to check on her.” I said.

“He is in Vietnam. You know him; he does his rounds with his gardens.” She said softly.

“Thank you Aya. Is he at the Red Palace?” I asked.

“Hai.” She nodded.

I bowed and ported to Akane's old haunt. I went to the apothecary and Nobu was writing on a scroll and looked up.

“My lady?” he asked.

“Ishin thinks I look too thin.” I stated.

“Lay down.” He said pointing to the futon.

I did as he said and he opened my haori. He pulled down my hakama a little and pressed his ear to my belly. He looked up and then pressed it again.

“Asuna, I have to get Ishin.” He said softly.

“No Nobu! No do not tell me that!” I said in anguish.

“Asuna please calm down.” He said holding me down.

“Nobu please! She has to be okay! I felt her mind last evening!” I cried.

He pulled me up and held me. I began sobbing and he just held me tightly. I refused to let him go and he finally laid me back.

“I have to get Ishin okay? Stay here.” He said as he stood.

I nodded and turned to my side. I cried bitterly and hit the wall. I proceeded to keep pounding on the stone and I screamed in anger. I felt Ishin behind me and he pulled me up and held onto me. I saw Nobu's eyes and he was grieved for me. I cried and Nobu handed me a draught. I understood what it would do and I threw it.

“No!” I screamed.

“She is gone already Asuna.” Ishin said with tears in his eyes.

“No! No! No!” I shrieked.

I felt a claw at the base of my neck and sagged into unconsciousness.

I came to and both my kumo mates stood by the futon. I was bitterly angry and I stared up.

“Asuna?” Naraku asked.

“Hai?” I mumbled.

“There was nothing you did wrong beloved. Nobu said she was not healthy.” Ishin said softly.

“Do not do that to me again! Do you hear me? Do not dare force me to do such a thing again!” I shrieked.

“You could not carry a dead babe Asuna. That would kill any onna eventually!” Naraku said sitting by me.

“Get away from me!” I snarled.

He seemed surprised at me vehemence and I snarled at both of them.

“I do not kill my pups! Do you hear me?” I hissed.

“She was gone Asuna!” Ishin said in an angry tone.

I knew he was not angry with me but our loss. I threw off the coverlet and stood up. I went to the armoire and dressed. I pounded the door and shattered the looking glass. Naraku hissed as my hand began bleeding.

“Let me get Nobu.” Ishin said wiping at his eyes in irritation.

I saw Ishin leave and Naraku stood by my side and staunched the wound.

“I know you are reeling my love but it was not your fault. Your body still thinks you are pregnant. You need to try and think clearly.” He said softly.

“I know!” I yelled.

He sighed and just pressed the silk to my bloodied hand. Nobu followed Ishin into our chambers and led me to a low chair. He proceeded to release his silk and forced my skin closed with it. I said nothing and when he was done I stood up to port. Nobu recognized it seemed and he put his hands on my shoulders.

“Not right now my lady. Calm please.” He said.

“Let me go healer.” I growled.

“Asuna please lay down.” Ishin implored.

“ If you do not release me then you are along for the ride Nobu.” I threatened.

He said nothing and I carried out my threat. I ported to Shanghai and he was surprised. He released me and watched me pace like a caged animal.

“What was wrong with my daughter?” I demanded.

“She was too small and she was not growing Asuna. It happens my lady.” He said gently.

“Nobu!” I began crying.

He came to me and held onto me tightly. I reached up and pulled him into a kiss. He tried to hold back but I growled. He turned me away and just held onto me.

“Asuna. They will figure out where you ported. If you wish for privacy then take us to Gifu.” He said in my ear.

I ported us to his home and he still held onto me. Tears still fell and he led me to the futon. He laid me down and went about it seemed preparing tea.

“You have been coming here quite often lately.” I observed.

“Hai. It is quite peaceful.” He said as he built a fire in the pit.

“Nobu?” I asked.

“Hai my lady?” he asked looking up.

“Please come here.” I begged.

He stood and sat next to the futon. I looked up at him and my lips trembled. He did not make any moves except to comfort me.

“You are mine.” I said in a tired voice.

“Asuna.” He said sternly.

“What?” I demanded.

“Our encounters have been the most intense of my long life but they cannot continue!” he said softly.

“Says you?” I asked in sudden anger.

“Hai! I do have a say over my own body. I may not be royalty but I am free.” He said eyeing me.

“You take the pleasure I give you and you feel dirty for it later.” I said rolling over to my side.

“I will not speak anymore about it. You have suffered and I will not add to it.” He said gently.

“What did you want me to say when you asked me what you were?” I asked in a pained voice.

“Why did you mark me then?” I asked.

“Instinct.” He said sipping his tea.

He just stared at me and stood up. He left the dwelling and I followed him. He was upset as he paced.

“Why are we doing this? Why are we using each other for gratification?” he demanded of me.

“You are probably right and my hormones are out of control. I shall not dream of running my hands and lips over your body. I shall not think of feeling your soul within me.” I said in a neutral tone.

“I am not a whoremonger!” he snapped.

“No you are not. You are one to deny your own needs for others. Your anguish you channel into your patients and I will not be brushed aside as Juuna was. I have a much stronger persona and I warned you.” I said bluntly.

“Why not leave it alone?” he demanded grabbing my shoulders.

“Because this is one onna who will not leave.” I said and my eyes flashed.

He said nothing and knew I spoke the truth. I ported away and back to Sendai. I had to face my situation and I knew my babe would be enshrined. It took me forever to even find the tarantula leader and I met him in Shanghai. I was pacing and I was dressed in state. I had a light golden hanfu with silver edging and a silverish white inner robe. Yellow flowers adorned my hair and it was up in an intricate style of knots and loose pieces. I also had to meet with Ming Li at the end of the day and I was nervous. Shusin led the tarantula into my study and he eyed me.

“Lord Chikara!” I said bowing.

“You were in Korea!” he said stunned.

“Hai. I am Lady Asuna and I am mated to Lord Ishin and Lord Naraku. I am the mate consort of the Tsuchigumo.” I said sitting.

“You knew Jouichi though.” He said softly.

“Hai I did or rather I do. I have things I have to finish there but I am loyal to this family unto death.” I said bluntly.

“You wish us to return.” He said as bluntly.

“Fusae was a devil and she will rot in the deepest pits of hell for eternity. Her sons are good like their father before and deserve for their people and kingdom whole.” I said passionately.

“I will meet with Lord Ishin and Lord Naraku then. I hear you subdued Bihua.” He said curiously.

“Hai. I beat him fair and square in a spar. He pays fealty to us now.” I said.

“No he pays fealty to you. There is a difference Lady Asuna. Recluse will not answer to Ishin or this Naraku. You had better hope you do not go anywhere because the recluse will feel no loyalty to the state anymore. Funnels and tarantulas are very similar in the wilds and amongst youki. We are cousins if you will. I have no problems following the funnels at all.” He said honestly.

“I think you will like Ishin. He is just like Jouichi.” I said in a soft voice.

“I will like him then. Jouichi was one of my best friends and I mourn his loss.” He said looking down.

“Hisashi had no choice you know. He was mad after what Fusae had done.” I said biting my lip.

“His son was trying to save us all. Jouichi never got over her betrayals. I think he cared deeply for you though but he never said. He would say he had known a mitsukai.” Chikara stated.

“I was a close friend and nothing more Lord Chikara. I know the type of pain he suffered. Please let me take you to Sendai.” I said rising.

He nodded and I put a hand on his arm and ported us to Ishin's stronghold. I appeared in the midst of a fight it seemed. Mizuki was snarling and spitting at Karu; they were knocking into the walls as they fought.

“Stop it!” I yelled.

Karu glared at me then at her. I raised a brow and they both stopped and bowed.

“Sorry haha.” Mizuki said with clenched teeth.

“What the hell is going on and where are your sires?” I demanded.

“Uncle Ishin is in the valley eating and chichi is in the Northern castle dealing with Kenta. There are nest disputes.” She said.

“Karu?” I demanded.

“Ask her!” Karu snapped.

“I am asking you.” I snapped back.

“I am tired of it! I am tired of her sneaking out to see him!” Karu snarled.

“Mizuki are you still sneaking away to see the Yosei?” I asked stunned.

“I adore him haha. I know he adores me too. I know I am too young to mate but he is my best friend. Yuudai was yours growing up!” she snapped.

“I hate him! I hate him!” Karu screamed.

“Why?” she demanded.

“Your place is here. You are the co-heir and you are…” Karu started to say.

My eyes widened and I was floored. Chikara raised a brow and I looked down.

“Karu get your sire now. Mizuki port to your chichi now!” I stated.

“Hai haha.” She said bowing.

Karu produced his shoki cloud and disappeared. Chikara seemed shocked and I grew worried.

“They are not natural siblings are they?” he asked.

“No not in blood.” I said chewing my lip.

“I shall wait in say the dining hall? I have not had good sake in awhile.” He said bowing.

I inclined my head and showed him the banquet hall. Ishin came back looking annoyed and I pinned my eyes on Karu. He looked angry and would not meet my eyes.

“Karu go to your chambers and stay for now.” I commanded.

“No! I am sick of her seeing him. She belongs on this plane and she belongs to this family!” he said in anger.

“Go now!” I hissed.

He growled but did as I asked. Ishin looked thoroughly confused and I sighed.

“I think Karu has formed feelings for Mizuki.” I said.

“Of course he has. They are as siblings now.” Ishin said naively.

“No Ishin. I think he is falling in love with her.” I said.

“What? No. He would have told me.” Ishin said in disbelief.

“Ishin, he is so riddled with jealousy about her obvious devotion to the Yosei that he is willing to come to blows.” I said.

“Oh Kamis. He cannot have feelings for her Asuna! She is a child and he is still a youth.” Ishin said shaking his head.

“You and I both know that at this age is when younglings start forming intense bonds and deep feelings. You know damn well that youths experiment with everything. Tell me you did not.” I said raising a brow.

“I did of course. They are basically siblings Asuna.” He said sighing.

“They are not related by blood and was it not your intention before your reconciliation with Naraku to have them mated?” I asked.

“At one time. They have been growing up together as siblings though.” Ishin said starting to tap his foot.

“Speak with Karu and I will speak with her and Naraku. This needs to be resolved.” I said flatly.

“Hai. He said you have a tarantula here?” Ishin stated.

“Hai. His name is Lord Chikara. Do you know of him? He has been hard to find.” I said.

“I have heard the name. Where is he?” Ishin asked.

“He is in the banquet hall.” I said in a low voice.

“Are you alright? You were so angry.” He said pulling me into a hug.

“I am still dealing with my anger. I wanted her Ishin. I want all of our babes.” I said looking down.

“You can give us more later. We can fill this castle up.” He said hugging me tightly.

“Hai.” I said as a tear slipped out of my eye.

He held me for awhile and I saw Chikara in the hall. Ishin lifted his head and then lifted my chin.

He released me and I saw him introduce himself to Chikara. They began speaking and I slipped out. I went in search of Nobu and he was actually sleeping. He had fallen asleep at his desk and his head was on a scroll. My heart wrenched as I remembered his pain when Ine and Juuna had died. I went to him and gently roused him.

“Healer you need rest. Go to your futon.” I said softly.

“Cannot. I have been tracking experiments.” He said rubbing his eyes.

“How many days were you up?” I asked.

“Four or five.” He mumbled.

“Nobu that pushes the limit of any youki.” I said.

“I know. Thank you for waking me.” He said looking up.

“As you wish.” I said bowing.

I sighed and I left his apothecary. I went to my chambers and poured myself some sake. I sipped the rice wine and waited on Ishin to talk with Chikara. I felt Nobu at the door and I turned. He slowly moved to me and lowered his lips to my ear.

“I need to speak with you privately.” He said in a whisper.

I nodded and I put my hand on his elbow and ported us to Gifu. He lowered his lips to my mouth and I responded with savagery. Our growls and groans surrounded us and his hands went to my hanfu. I also busied my own with undoing his. We shed our silks and he lowered me to the futon. He said nothing but continued to consume me mentally and physically. He settled himself between my legs and joined us. I gasped softly as he moved in a smooth tempo. He was unhurried as my sighs and groans filled the chambers. Nobu plundered my mouth and I arched my body to his. He lifted his head and moaned out suddenly. I had been joining his mind and our bodies met. “Really inu?” he said smirking.

His fan blade appeared and he began cutting through the air and hit my fang harder. I growled and I had to block high and low several times to avoid getting struck. I whirled and stuck his leg and he hissed. He reached out his hand and it disappeared into his shoki. He pulled his fang again and began striking from the side and high then low. I back flipped to avoid his mighty blows. Naraku made appreciative noises as we moved. I held Kumosaiga in my left hand and I crouched. My right hand was drawn back and I thrust my fang. I watched in horror as my yoki let loose from my right hand and not my fang. Ishin hit the floor to avoid the destruction. Naraku and I both were thrown backwards as a hole appeared in the dojo wall. Ishin lifted his head and he had stone and bamboo all over his head. I looked horrified and scrambled up and pulled Naraku up as well.

“Kamis! I am so sorry!” I said shocked.

“Well I have been thinking of enlarging it anyway.” Ishin joked.

“I am truly sorry!” I said sheepishly.

“Why is your yoki out of control lately?” Naraku asked.

“I have no idea. Tamiko says it is a blending of the inu and uppyr yoki.” I said helping Ishin up.

“Inu you are bleeding.” Ishin said.

I had a piece of bamboo lodged in my arm. I growled in irritation and sighed.

“You too as well Ishin.” I said pouting.

“Brother should you like to face our mate?” Ishin teased.

“Not no but hell no. I am not stupid.” Naraku said pursing his lips.

“I am?” Ishin asked trying not to laugh.

“Hai. Come you two.” Naraku said and we followed him out.

I looked back at the devastation and I felt confused. Naraku led us to the apothecary and Nobu looked up from another warrior.

“What in the hell?” he asked shocked.

“Asuna blew up the dojo.” Ishin said proudly.

“Ishin!” I snapped.

“Well you did. Now we shall have to decide how to rebuild it.” He said grinning like an idiot.

“I leave the fools to you Nobu. I shall see to the upcoming summit plans.” Naraku said winking at me.

I smirked and Nobu gently pulled the bamboo out and applied a cotton compress. He did the same with Ishin and wrapped the wounds.

“What is wrong with Akito?” Ishin asked.

“Aya found him slacking. She fought him in a spar and worked him over. He was whining so I knocked him out.” Nobu replied.

Ishin snorted and stood up. He shook his head and Nobu was working on pulling out small stones I had not noticed.

“Kamis inu you are a mess. Meet you back in the meeting hall my love.” He said.

I sighed and nodded as Ishin chuckled then left. Nobu shook his head and I raised a brow.

“You are a mess.” He said as he cleaned the wounds.

-I love you. - I pathed.

“Hai.” He replied without looking.

I grunted as he pulled out a sharp stone. He looked up and met my eyes.

-I love you too. - He pathed back.

I kept my face neutral as he finished cleaning the small wounds.

“I am going to Hunan for a few days. Can you keep a close eye on Bihua?” I asked.

“Hai.” He nodded.

He leaned forward and barely touched his lips to mine. It was a ghostly touch and I stood up.

“Take care my lady.” He said inclining his head.

“You too healer.” I said bowing.

I went in search of Ishin and Naraku; I found them arguing about details and I shook my head.

“I have to go to Hunan. I shall be back in a few days.” I said aloud.

“Okay. Tell Prince Quon I said good luck!” Ishin said.

“Ass! You are being an impertinent ass!” I hissed.

“So? You can handle my young.” He said crossing his arms.

Naraku slapped Ishin on the arm rather hard and the funnel web looked annoyed.

“Tell him not to threaten again inu. I do not interfere in Byakko politics, see to it he does not interfere in mine.” Ishin said with fake sweetness.

I growled at him and he gave me a nauseating smile. Naraku shook his head and he would dress him down for me. I went to Naraku and tipped his head back and kissed him deeply. He made a moan as I stroked his mind. I pulled back slowly and I went to do the same to Ishin.

“Sorry. Make sure you wrap your hand around your girth tightly as you think of me. That is all you shall get from me for awhile.” I said sweetly.

I stepped back and Naraku snorted and Ishin scowled. I ported out and went to Hunan.

“I will give you another if you let me!” I said imploring him.

“No! No! And hell no! That snot Ming Li arrives tonight. I shall remind him whose wife you are.” Quon snarled.

“My love.” I said holding his face.

He pulled me to him and held me tightly as he began exploring my soul it seemed. I felt his claws through my hanfu as he kneaded my back and backside.

“Well Prince Quon Hu. Hopefully you shall be that amorous with my sister.” Ming Li said.

Quon jerked away from me and hissed at Li. The Bengal looked amused and walked into the dining hall.

“I really hate him! I wish you had never invited him to Shanghai. I wish you had not sought comfort from him after I passed!” he growled.

“I am sorry!” I said sighing.

“I know. Come Asuna. I intend to get very drunk.” He said in a low snarl.

I sighed and followed him into the hall. I saw Li's sister Ruolan. She was beyond lovely; she was a white Bengal and her hair was snowy white with very pale stripes in it. Her face was free of the stripes but she shared Li's blue eyes. I really liked the soft spoken onna and she was a good match in my opinion. She moved before me and bowed very low before me.

“Princess Asuna.” She said in a glorious voice.

“Princess Ruolan.” I said softly.

“May I speak with you my lady?” she asked as she bowed again.

“Hai.” I said rubbing the bridge of my nose.

I bid her follow me and I went to Chen's den and closed the door. I sank to my backside and bid her sit.

“Should you like some sake?” I asked.

“No my lady.” She said demurely.

“You have to survive this court Ruolan. You need to toughen up a little.” I said sighing.

“I am a tigress my lady. I admire you greatly but I follow my brother's will.” She said with downcast eyes.

“I know for a fact your grandmere ruled Xizang. I also know that you are more spirited in Lhasa. Li does not subjugate you.” I said frankly.

“I am to be a brood mare if you will my lady. Li adores you and so does our whole court. Li wished a cub from you so badly that he begged me to do this.” She answered.

“Thank you for the honesty then. Quon does not really want this but he and I both understand the need for more cubs. Zihao nearly killed me and my yoki had to be bound to even survive and he still broke through that. Quon will not allow me to carry anymore.” I said bitterly.

“I am so sorry my lady.” She said bowing her head.

“Quon has stated that you answer to me. I do not require your presence here unless there is need. I have no wish for your life to be tied down to Hunan.” I said gently.

“I want to be a mother.” She said softly.

“I will not take your cubs from you.” I stated.

“I can do this then. It is nothing.” She said raising her head.

I nodded and she stood and bowed. She slipped out of the den and tears slipped down my face. I went to the gardens and watched the sky. I felt Li's presence and I turned.

“Are you proud of yourself Ming Li?” I demanded.

“I love you Asuna. I have loved you for several years. Quon was revived and Zihao ripped from my life. I am sorry you find this offensive but I do love you. I know you cannot be my mate but I can tie you to me through a cub. You do not hate me.” He said turning me.

“No of course I do not hate you. I have told you my feelings! We agreed we would be good friends and occasional lovers!” I hissed softly.

“Yes and I adopted Zihao as my son. I miss him horribly!” he said with tremendous emotion.

“I am sorry Li. I cannot abandon Quon as I did give him Zihao!” I said wiping my eyes.

“My sister knows this is totally political. I have assured her of your goodness.” He said in his glorious voice.

He reached up and held my face. I looked anguished and I pulled back.

“I cannot do this right now. I miscarried a couple of weeks ago.” I said with a shaking voice.

“Asuna?” Quon asked from the door.

I knew he had just arrived and had heard the last statement.

“Hai you heard right beloved. She died within my womb. I had to enshrine her.” I said meeting his eyes.

“Inu.” He said looking sad for me.

“No! I will not have your pity Quon! You will not allow me to try and give you anymore! Fuck!” I cursed as I wiped my eyes.

I stormed past both male tigers and pressed my forehead against a pillar and cried quietly. Li wisely held back and Quon came to me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

“I told you. You are my heart! You are my soul and you most certainly are my only love. I will not give my love or soul to another. I am not ba!” he said in my ear and very softly.

“Hai.” I said.

He pulled away and stormed away. Li touched my shoulder and I looked back at him.

“I know he loves you but I cannot stop. I cannot stop breathing either.” He said bowing and leaving.

I was overwhelmed and I went to the dining hall and grabbed a glass of mulled wine. I downed it and grabbed another. I nursed the second one and Li signed the treaty with Chen. I watched the Byakko lord and he looked grieved for me. I bowed my head and intended to get very drunk as Quon took his second mate. I was bitter and cursed my body. I downed another drink and I noticed Quon was drinking as liberally. I took myself into the family wing and went to visit Meifen who was recently cubbed herself.

“Lady Meifen may I sit and talk?” I asked.

“Yes. I can send for more if you wish.” She said gently.

“Hai. I have never participated in anything like this.” I said.

“I am used to it and for me normal. You had your life before you met my son and you had your mates. I know this is a different sort of thing.” She said nothing.

“I am getting drunk.” I said laughing.

“Lord Ming Li is very cunning I think. He acts more like his mother than Chao. She was a great friend but very sly. Ruolan is good and will know her place.” Meifen said.

I drank my wine and listened as she spoke. Chen eventually made an appearance and kissed Meifen on her cheek.

“Hello my dear. I know this is hard for you but I am grateful you saw the need.” He said.

“Of course Lord Chen. I am a ruler. I know the needs of the state.” I said slurring.

“Asuna maybe you should port to Shanghai or Hong Kong.” Chen said softly.

“No. I will know when he has finished and I whored out my husband. I know I am a hypocrite. That is what is the biggest joke in this is. No I shall wait till he makes her his concubine.” I said standing.

I quit the royal couple's chambers and walked through the palace. I sighed and went to the forest around the Byakko palace.

“You really should not be here alone.” I heard.

“Whoever you are you can leave me alone!” I snarled.

I watched as a Panda youki stepped out. He was in his true form and I dropped my jaw. He was a massive creature. I scrambled backwards as I had never seen the mythic beast.

“Do I frighten you?” he asked amused.

“I do not know many youki who speak so well in their true forms.” I said with mouth agape.

“Well I shall change for you then.” He chuckled.

He changed to his humanoid form and he was unreal it seemed. His features were very pale and his eyes were very dark and his markings around them made them intense. I could see his rounded ears and they were touched with very light black fur. His hair was black and white and I stared at him.

“I am Bingwen and you are in my forest.” He said.

“Do the Byakko know about you?” I asked.

“Why would I care what a tiger thinks? These are my ancestral lands and I eat in my forest.” He shrugged.

“What do you eat?” I asked.

“Silly girl! I eat bamboo.” He chuckled.

He walked forward and shut my mouth and laughed merrily and I liked him. He came and flopped next to me and I laughed.

“That's my girl! Now what has you drinking that vile stuff?” he asked.
”Politics! You must be a lone bear.” I said sitting.

“Yes. Pandas are solitary. That is why I could care less about the glacial cats.” He shrugged.

“Have you seen Lord Chen or Prince Quon?” I asked.

“Nope but I have seen the younger one; the one that really likes nu zi.” He said smirking.

“Cheung.” I said laughing.

“Yes. He is rather loud.” The panda joked.

“You are a riot.” I laughed harder.

“Awe well cannot be so serious all the time. I am around a lot little nu zi. You are pretty for a dog.” He said jumping up.

I smirked as he left and I walked back into the palace. I went to the throne room and Chen was there with his cubs. Ling looked bored without Yoshiko around and I smiled at him. He smiled back and I went over to him.

“If you are very quiet there is a secret tunnel that opens right by Shiko's rooms in the palace. She would love to see you I know.” I said.

“She is still too young for that.” He sighed.

“You need to relieve your obvious frustration Ling.” I said bluntly.

He blushed and I stood. I smirked at Chen and sat by him.

“Cheung my brother! It seems you have been heard in your recent trysts.” I said smiling.

“Excuse me?” he asked.

“Hai. It seems you pray when you take a tigress?” I said laughing.

Chen snorted and began laughing hard. Cheung turned bright red and I covered my mouth.

“You have a panda in your forest.” I said.

“Truly?” Chen asked surprised.

“Hai and he is huge! He is also hysterical.” I stated.

“They are lone creatures I have heard. They do not even eat meat.” Chen said sitting back.

“Hai that is what he said.” I replied.

“Fascinating! I have always wished to see one but they are elusive.” He said and shrugged.

“His name is Bingwen.” I said.

“Incredible.” Chen stated.

I felt Quon's aura in the doorway and he looked more than inebriated and quite sorrowed. I sighed and stood up. I went to him and bowed.

“Will you come to bed? I cannot stand.” He said slurring.

“Quon!” I said hissing.

“Sorry beloved but the deed is done. I did not defile our bed though.” He said holding me to him.

“Thank you.” I said burying my nose in his neck.

I ported us to his chambers and he was anguished by the actions. He lifted my jaw and began kissing me passionately. I too kissed him in return and he ripped my hanfu from me. He took me slow and passionately. It seemed he was making sure the whole of the palace heard me call out.

I had gathered a whole bushel of bamboo and I was searching the forest for the panda. I scowled and I heard singing. He was sitting in the middle of a small grove of bamboo peeling and eating the trees.

“Bingwen?” I asked.

“Yes?” he said turning his massive bear head.

“I brought you a gift.” I said laying the shoots of bamboo before him.

“Sweet nu zi!” He said laughing.

He grabbed me and hugged me. I laughed and he attacked the young shoots and made growls and sighs of pleasure as he ate.

“My mate wished to meet you.” I said.

“Sure.” He said as he munched on the succulent sprouts.

“Quon!” I called.

He came out and he stood amazed at the gentle being that was just eating with abandon. Bingwen waved a massive paw and bid us sit. Quon did and I joined him.

“Thank you! I shall have less work to do.” He said as he shoved more into his mouth.

“How old are you?” Quon asked.

“Unsure. I quit counting.” He said as he munched.

“By the Gods you are amazing.” Quon said softly.

“Why?” he asked.

“You speak in your true form!” the Byakko prince said amazed.

“No biggie.” He said then fell to his back and sighed.

“Is this all you do?” I asked him.

“Yes. Why not? I do not worry about wars or stupid things. If I find a pretty female then we mate. I find more bamboo and I enjoy myself.” He said.

“You are an amazing being.” I said smiling

“Thank you pretty dog. You know tiger she is pretty.” Bingwen said with a light tone.

“Thank you. I know she is.” Quon said smiling at me.

“Congratulations pretty dog.” Bingwen said.

“Why?” I asked surprised.

He rolled to his side and began cleaning his face with his paws.

“You have tiger in your belly.” He said poking me.

“What?” Quon said suddenly furious.

“Yes. Cannot you not see the aura?” the panda asked.

“That is not one of our abilities.” Quon said.

“Awe well. I am full and I am gonna nap right now. She is quite snug.” He said and began to snore.

Quon was shaking with fury and dragged me behind him.

“I did not know I was in heat!” I said.

“You will rid yourself now!” He growled.

“No!” I yelled.

“Asuna! You will rid yourself of that cub. You will not be able to handle it!” he said actually tearing up.

“Quon how can you say that!” I asked screaming.

“No! I went through this joke so that you would not have to. You will not leave me!” he said shaking me.

“You will not make me end her life! How dare you!” I raged.

He yelled in frustration and stormed away from me. I saw Chen and Meifen run to the courtyard and I was crying. Meifen came to me and hugged me tightly.

“I will not allow it!” I yelled.

“What me dear?” she asked.

“I am pregnant.” I said wiping my eyes.

“By the Gods.” She said covering her mouth.

I watched Chen's worried expression and I pulled from Meifen.

“You can tell him to kiss my ass! I will make sure she is safe! I will make sure I do not die!” I said with vehemence.

I ported away and back to Sendai. I threw myself on my futon and cried my heart out. I did not wait long and Naraku came to me. He held me as I cried. I refused to say and finally calmed myself down.

“Quon and I had a huge fight is all. He now has a concubine.” I said standing.

Naraku nodded and I walked away. He caught up with me and turned me.

“The recluse are being difficult. Can you spare some time this evening to hammer out the details of the kingdom?” he asked lifting my chin.

“Hai.” I said.

“Okay. When are you due?” he asked softly.

“How is it you sense it?” I demanded.

“I do not know. I just do. You have to be carefully watched and I will bind your yoki myself.” He said firmly.

“Gee thanks.” I snapped.

He patted my backside and smiled. I went in search of Nobu and I closed my eyes. The bond that had been forming had become more intense and I could sense him if I concentrated enough. I ported to Korea and he stood up from his garden immediately. He stepped forward and our lips were together instantly. I was dizzy in my feelings and in a deep spin. He held my jaw softly and pulled back from my mouth.

“I did something that all are going to admonish me for.” I said sighing.

“What?” he asked gently.

“Byakko.” I said trying to look away.

“I will make sure you are safe as you carry.” He said massaging the base of my skull.

My tension melted and I bit back my groans. My eyes closed as he held the back of my head as he did so.

“This very day I shall meet with the Byakko healer. We will do better this time.” He said kissing my neck.

“Nobu.” I said in a whisper.

“Shhhh. It will be alright. Lay down my lover.” He said gently.

I nodded and he lowered me to the futon. I felt Ishin and Nobu was examining me when he rushed in. His face held not only fury but worry.

“My lord, I will go to Hunan this day.” He said looking at Ishin.

“Whatever you have to do to insure her safety and I mean anything Nobu.” Ishin said coldly.

“Do not dare lecture me!” I hissed.

“Well I get dressed down for our lovemaking and the tiger gets you pregnant after daring to threaten me? We just lost our daughter two weeks ago!” he snarled.

“I did not know!” I yelled.

“If you fall into a coma like last time then that cub shall be ripped from your womb! You will not die giving that fucking Byakko anything!” Ishin hissed right in my face.

“He does not want me carrying either!” I snarled back.

“Then why?” he asked.

“Should I have murdered Jouichi? How about Ayana or Iyo?” I hissed.

“I am gonna strangle you inu! I am going to make you mind someone!” he snarled.

“My lord!” Nobu said fiercely.

“Lay one hand on me to hurt me or this cub and I will be the one strangling you kumo!” I hissed sitting up.

Ishin was furious not because of jealously but of concern. He put a fist through the wall and pulled it back bloodied.

“I will not loose you! Do you hear me? I will say the same damn thing that Naraku said. I will not loose you to birthing. I will not loose you period!” He said grabbing my shoulders.

“Ishin! I know what I need to do! The same as I know what I need to do with a kumo babe. Now please you have the summit. You need to calm yourself and I need to do the same.” I said in a low tone.

“Swear to me Nobu.” Ishin said.

“She will live and not fall to this my lord. I swear.” Nobu said bowing.

Ishin backed away and sighed fiercely.

“Ishin, I am young and I can have more babes. I wanted her and you know that. I am sorry I failed.” I said looking down.

“You did not fail Asuna. I was reckless and I know that. I have never loved an onna as I do you. I loose my good sense.” He said in the doorway.

“I love you very much Ishin.” I said softly.

“I know inu. Take care of her Nobu.” He said.

“I shall my lord. We all adore our lady.” Nobu said with head bowed.

“That we do. You have managed to fulfill my dreams Asuna. You have restored my peoples.” Ishin said meeting my eyes.

I smiled at him and he ported out. I laid back and Nobu came over to me again. He undid my hanfu and exposed my belly. He lowered his lips to my stomach and kissed it gently.

“Have you ever done that before?” I asked with my eyes closed.

“No.” he murmured.

“You made it so wonderful.” I said resting my hand on his head.

“You have experienced it before?” he asked.

“Hai. Lei Jing.” I said tightly.

“Why did you not say anything?” he asked holding my face.

“Because I knew you would not hurt me. I knew you would make it amazing.” I said softly.

He pressed his forehead to mine and Nobu softly kissed my cheek.

“I have fallen into your web too. I am feeling too deeply.” He stated.

“I will not give you up!” I said fiercely.

“Why Asuna?” he said meeting my eyes.

“I do not know. I have no idea why I feel so violently toward you. I called you from Siam and you heard me.” I said gripping his haori.

“You bind those with psi yoki to you deeply. You have done it to me.” He said closing his eyes as he pressed his cheek to mine.

He lifted his head and lowered his lips to mine. He plundered me and I began moaning mindlessly as he slowly and madly kissed me. He pulled himself back and panted softly.

“My lady.” He breathed hard.

“Nobu.” I groaned.

“I should go to Hunan now. Kamis I have dreams of you! I have dreams of such magnitude!” he said closing his eyes.

“I do too.” I remarked.

“I loved Ine and Juuna. I really did.” He mumbled.

“You still do.” I said cupping his cheek.

“Hai.” He said taking my hand and kissing the palm.

Our feelings were being communicated in touch and he pressed his palm to mine. I felt his yoki and I pressed mine against his.

“I think you were her too! You have kumo yoki.” He said breathing roughly.

“I do not understand.” I said.

“Neither do I. You feel like a funnel onna to me. I realize that is what it is. You feel like a powerful kumo onna.” He said then kissed my fingers and sucked on them.

He began growling and ripped open my hanfu fully. He lowered his lips to my breasts and he was becoming wild. I slid my hands through his hair and he pulled back.

“I am loosing my cohesion. I need to go Asuna.” He said clenching his jaw.

I nodded and I sat up. I leaned forward and began kissing him again. He growled fiercely and I was suddenly in his lap. I gasped as he moved in me urgently. My eyes rolled back and I truly did not know why I could not get enough of this gentle kumo. He brought me over first then followed me quickly as he released his held breath. He kissed my throat and gently released me. He made a low growl and shook his head. He held himself steady at his door and finally opened it. I decided to sleep a little and I fell into peaceful slumber.

He had to find out more about the legendary kumo goddess that was Ayana. He would bet his life that she was her. There was so much legend built up around her memory. Her shrine was at this very palace and he went to it. He noticed offerings and he shook his head. His kind always were here and always they prayed to the ancestors and the great funnel leaders of the past. He read the kanji at her shrine and Lord Jouichi had revered his mother. He contemplated things and went in search of Aya. She was again yelling at a group of widows and she snorted in annoyance.

“Hai little brother?” she asked.

“I need some information and you are the warrior.” He said thoughtfully.

“You are happy! How is it you are happy?” she demanded.

“Shut up and listen!” he snapped.

“Hai. What do you want?” she snapped back.

“The Lady Ayana. What do you know of her?” he asked.

“Scary as hell yoki. Lovers upon lovers and ruled the lands with skill and flair, why?” she asked.

“More Aya! I need to know more. Lady Asuna is showing kumo yoki.” He said seriously.

“You are not seriously thinking she is reborn from the great Ayana?” Aya asked.

“I do not know. She blew a hole in the dojo at Sendai. Lord Ishin thinks it's hilarious but I can see how it is affecting her. She is terrified of herself.” He said honestly.

“What killed her babe?” Aya asked.

“Lady Asuna channels so much yoki that I think she ended up channeling Sakina. That babe was tiny and frail. Her other three daughters have huge amounts of yoki like she does; they in fact channeled her whilst she was pregnant.” He said thinking.

“She accidentally killed her babe?” Aya said with jaw dropping.

“Hai I think so. I could not tell her that as she would fall to pieces more than she did. Her babes have to be strong to survive her. Unfortunately this time the babe was not.” He said in a low tone.

“Son of a bitch!” Aya said shaking her head.

“Look into the legends for me and see what truths you can glean. What type of funnel was Ayana? Was she a native funnel or imports like us black funnel webs.” He asked.

“Hai. Our poor lady.” Aya said shaking her head.

“It was not like she did it on purpose Aya. She has been loosing control of her yoki.” Nobu said.

“That is the scary part. I saw the dojo at Sendai and it is wrecked.” She stated.

“Hai well she is still so young.” He said stepping back.

He bowed to his sister and produced his shoki cloud and went to Hunan. He bowed low before Byakko soldiers and he stood straight.

“My name is Nobu and I am a healer for the Tsuchigumo. Your princess is my lady and I need to see your Guang.” He said in Min.

“This way spider.” The Byakko said.

Nobu walked behind the tiger and was brought to a room that held many herbs and medicines he recognized. He bowed low and the ancient tiger looked at him.

“I am Nobu.” He said.

“I know of you spider. You are well known for your talents and your compassion.” Guang said standing up and bowing.

Nobu inclined his head and Guang bid him sit. He did and he was offered tea which he accepted.

“Princess Asuna carries another Byakko cub.” Guang said bluntly.

“Hai. My lord has begged me to make sure she does not fall ill as she did with young Zihao. Lord Ishin and Lord Naraku have no wish to loose their consort.” Nobu said.

“You have no wish to loose your lady?” he asked bluntly again.

“I honor her greatly. She has brought my kind back together healer. I am grateful always.” He said bowing his head.

“Princess Asuna is beloved here is as well. It has amazed me that this family of inu has affected this family of Byakko so much. Prince Quon wishes me to abort the cub but I know the princess would rather die then do that.” Guang said,

Nobu nodded and they spent the afternoon plotting her care very carefully and methodically. Nobu watched as the Byakko prince entered the ancient tiger's rooms.

“Prince Quon this is the famed spider healer Nobu. He is here on your princess's behalf.” Guang said.

Quon looked at him and his face was set in angry lines.

“I do not want her bearing my cub. I love my son more than I can say but he damn near killed her before.” Quon said suppressing horrendous guilt.

“She will not abort it Prince Quon. She and Lord Ishin nearly came to blows over it. He is terrified for her but she has stated she will and I quote, gut the bastard that lays a hand on her.” Nobu said.

“That is her alright. Damn inu bitch! Why will she not see reason?” Quon demanded.

“Because she loves you prince; I was there the day you were buried and had to give your son a draught so that he could sleep as he would not stop crying. I saw her leave and she told me later that she raged against the Bengal. She also blamed your sire for awhile.” Nobu shrugged.

“Damnit!” Quon said as he wiped an angry tear away.

“My prince?” Guang asked.

“I have loved her since she took Sapporo. Stupid inu could not handle boundaries and still will not. Please do not let my cub kill her both of you?” Quon begged.

Both males inclined their heads and Quon clenched his fists.

“Did you check on Lady Ruolan?” Quon asked.

“Yes my lord. She is cubbed as your princess wished.” Guang said.

Quon growled and left in a fury. Nobu shook his head and felt for the tiger.

“He will love the cub from the tigress but that boy will always favor Zihao and this cub.” Guang said.

“Both my lords love her as fiercely.” Nobu said.

“As do you.” Guang chuckled.

“I adore her hai.” Nobu said looking confused.

“I have lived nearly two millennium healer Nobu. I recognize above normal devotion.” Guang said smiling.

“What you see is my devotion. I have delivered several of her babes and I do adore her very much but she was there for me when my mate died.” He said looking away.

“I see. She is a particular friend and confident.” Guang said nodding.

“Hai.” Nobu nodded.

“I shall set about getting plenty of the draught ready. Your idea of creating an anti-shoki is rather intriguing an idea.” Guang said standing.

“I intend to experiment if you do not mind getting me plenty of your shoki to work with.” Nobu said.

“I shall milk the prince's claws myself.” Guang said.

Nobu bowed and wondered how Asuna would take the news of the tiger's concubine cubbed. He produced his shoki cloud and ported out. He was back in his Korean apothecary and his heart stopped for a moment. She wore only the coverlet he used to cover his patients and she was on her side. The silk barely covered a thing. He shook his head and wondered when and why he had quit being able to control himself. He understood now why Ishin went so damn crazy. This onna produced kumo pheramones and pulled out his very basic and primal self every which way she turned. He sat down and growled in self hatred as his mind went to her. He moved over to her and produced his shoki cloud and pulled them in to Gifu. She did not wake up and he leaned down and lightly kissed her. He let his senses go and she was indeed releasing scents. Male kumo did not stand a chance he realized. Nobu scrambled back and thought deeply on her current condition and covered her with a heavier quilt. He took her back to Sendai and her shared chambers. He went to where Ishin was and saw his lord bored out of his mind. He motioned for Ishin to come and scowled at Bihua.

“When is your consort going to be here Lord Ishin? When do we see your grandmere reborn?” Bihua demanded.

“You are demented recluse and my mate is sleeping at the moment. Naraku take over.” Ishin said standing.

He followed Nobu outside and he waited impatiently for his healer.

“Follow me my lord. The Byakko healer and I are working on a very good plan of action but I want you to scent your mate.” Nobu said.

“Okay. She normally smells good enough to eat.” Ishin shrugged.

“I guess.” Nobu said turning red.

“You really need to not be a hermit my friend. I know you mourn.” Ishin said sighing.

“Just come!” Nobu snapped.

Ishin went in and leaned over her form and growled as he scrambled back.

“See what I mean?” Nobu stated.

“Nobu! You could have warned me! Kamis if she sits in a room with a bunch of males…” Ishin said shaking his head.

“She is loosing control of her yoki and she is releasing scents like this. I think she has unleashed a past life. I would stake my life on it. I think you were right when you said she was at one time a spideress.” Nobu said.

“She has taken you.” Ishin said bluntly.

“My lord?” Nobu said confused.

“Better you then a damn other species. Keep her home as much as possible Nobu.” Ishin commanded.

“She did a few times in her delirium my lord.” Nobu said turning every shade of red.

“You know the insanity she can invoke then. Naraku and I feel it constantly.” Ishin stated looking at her fondly.

“She is your mate my lord. I am sorry that I gave in.” he said ashamed.

“I see the way Bihua has looked at her. I imagine that is why he made his ridiculous treaty at first. What exactly did he do to her Nobu?” Ishin demanded.

“My lord does it matter? All that matters is that she fought back and came home. She loves your family and our people.” Nobu said uncomfortable.

“I am not the same as I was when I hated Hisashi. Everything has changed and our peoples are on the verge of reuniting. I wish for you to be her lover if she wishes.” Ishin said looking at his longtime friend.

“My lord I am your healer and you are my closest friend. How can you say these things?” Nobu asked wringing his hands.

“Because you are like my brother. You have always been here since the fall.” Ishin answered.

Naraku walked in and saw his mate sleeping heavily and eyed Ishin. He moved over to her and he growled as he backed up.

“You smell it too.” Ishin said amused.

“What is that?” Naraku said as his eyes bled red.

“That dear brother is what a kumo onna scents like.” Ishin said.

Naraku moved closer and scented her. He bit back groans as he scented along her neck and sternum.

“She cannot sit in a room full of male kumo right now! She scents like she does when she is pregnant with one of ours!” Naraku hissed softly.

“Hai.” Ishin nodded.

Nobu slipped from the room and was rather horrified at Ishin's words and ashamed of himself for doing exactly what he wanted from him behind his back. He went to his rooms and poured himself a very liberal amount of sake.

Naraku stared at his mate and his mind was bent towards taking her. He pulled himself back and stared at Ishin.

“Want to bury your nose in her neck and make love to her right?” Ishin asked.

“Hai. What the hell is going on?” Naraku asked.

“Changing again I think. This time it is more like us.” Ishin shrugged.

“Go talk to them Ishin.” Naraku said in a growl.

“Sure brother.” Ishin snickered as he stood up and left.

Naraku pulled her cover down and bathed in her scent. He had taken for granted when Mizuki had been conceived and Nori. He groaned and kissed her madly.

I came to and Naraku was kissing me and I groaned into it. He settled between thighs still clothed and devoured me. He ripped himself away and his eyes were crimson.

“Dearest what is wrong?” I asked.

“So good. You smell so good Asuna.” He growled.

“Okay thank you but do we not have a summit?” I asked.

“Mask your scent.” He growled.

I started to and he settled behind me and began nipping roughly at my neck. I cried out and his hands cupped my breasts as he growled louder.

“Mask please my love.” He said in my ear.

I masked the scent and he was breathing harder. He pulled himself up and growled softly. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and he pulled me up.

“Sorry my love. I can control myself but you smell so damn delicious right now.” He said in a husky tone.

“Okay.” I said pulling away and moving to my clothes.

Naraku moved ahead of me and pulled out a stunning hanfu of burgundy and red silk. The neck line was plunging and I looked at him as if he had lost his mind.

“I told you that I enjoy your beautiful body.” He said smirking.

“You wish for others to stare?” I said.

“Hai.” He said as he helped me into it.

The bodice was split into a deep `v' shape and clasps of silver connected it. I turned red as he tied the stays and handed me the outer robe. I stepped into some silver slippers and I followed him out of the chambers. I went into the meeting room. There was Tsuchigumo nobility that I never saw. I turned my head and growled in Naraku's ear. I sat next to Ishin and his gaze was neutral but his thoughts were not. Naraku sat next to me. I saw funnels that were brown and I was surprised.

“Lady Asuna.” A brown funnel said.

“Hello.” I said bowing me head.

“I am Ukita my lady. I am the head councilman for Lord Ishin and Lord Naraku.” He said.

I looked at Ishin and Naraku and realized that I had no true idea what they did. I kept myself so busy that I realized the kumo were in fact more like other courts.

“I had not realized.” I said bowing my head.

“We all do not live in our webs or nests my lady. Some of us are refined.” Ukita said glaring at Bihua and Kenta.

I saw Airi's grandson snort and Bihua was gazing steadily at me. I was uncomfortable and Naraku took my hand.

“The demands of the recluse have been many my lady and they have refused to deal reasonably until you were here.” Ukita said.

“Bihua why are you making demands at all?” I asked.

“We are asking for rights back into our homelands! You wish for this to work then speak for us my lady! You all should know she is the Ayana!” Bihua said glaring.

“Stop it! No I am not. I am inu and I mated to the Lords!” I said standing.

“She wields the supaida nami! She births kumo young. I demand entrance and lands within Japan. We are the elite guard of this nation and we will not be treated as trash or as the ookami kumo!” Bihua hissed.

Kenta hissed and Ishin was rather furious. He stood up and stood within Bihua's line of sight.

“I am the overlord here Bihua. You ultimately answer to me as I carry the blood of my grandmere! Do you understand?” Ishin snarled.

“Yet you do not carry her power. You are a pretty pet Lord Ishin.” Bihua sneered.

Naraku stood up and he was fixing to loose his temper.

“Bihua! The lands in the south will be retaken.” I said standing.

“What?” Ishin said stunned.

“The dragons are related to me now and the neko will give up our old lands. I will give the recluse back our lands there.” I said firmly.

Bihua moved and bowed to Ishin and Naraku. The rest of the kumo council was stunned and Kenta stood up and sneered.

“The ookami will not take anymore insults! I am not that harlot Fusae and my grandmere died…” Kenta started to say.

“Your grandmere was a traitor and liar. You may not be but do not espouse her virtue Kenta!” Ishin snarled.

“Oh hai Lord Ishin. Hail the funnels. I answer to Lord Naraku and not you.” Kenta hissed.

“Kenta!” Naraku snapped.

“Hai my lord.” Kenta said bowing to my first mate.

I realized what I had said and I bowed and fled suddenly. I was in the hall and my chest was heaving. Ishin came out followed hotly by Naraku.

“I am sorry. I did not think.” I said meeting their eyes.

“Well you did take Sapporo.” Naraku pointed out.

“You crushed the Ming.” Ishin said.

“I am still supposed to be hunting Magatushi and I am pregnant with a Byakko.” I said shaking my head.

“You made your appearance. Go to the West and visit your family.” Ishin suggested.

“Hai good idea.” I said nodding.

“Asuna keep your masking up.” Naraku stated.

“Hai.” I nodded.

They went back in and I walked to Nobu's chambers. He was there and his hair was wet and he wore only a yukata.

“Come with me.” I said softly.

“My lady I have things.” He started to say and I ported us out.

We were in my chambers in the West and I threw up a barrier. Nobu looked around and he seemed a little out of sorts.

“I need your wisdom my friend.” I said.

“What are you wearing?” he asked stunned.

“Naraku has been stocking my closets in Sendai. His tastes are a little risqué.” I said blushing.

“What do you need?” he asked.

“I am me right? I mean I am an inu-uppyr hybrid right?” I asked.

“Of course.” Nobu said.

“Why am I changing again?” I asked.

“I do not know my lady.” He said softly.

“They are insisting that I was Ayana and I know that I am not right?” I asked.

“I do not know that either.” Nobu said honestly.

“Why are you embarrassed?” I asked.

“Ishin asked me to become your lover.” He said turning red.

“Okay.” I said blinking.

He said nothing and I flushed myself. I felt my sire's aura coming and I sighed.

“I will be in Gifu tonight. If you wish come to me. I have new herbs to sew and experiments to conduct.” He said bowing and producing his shoki and stepping in. I let down my barrier and my sire knocked loudly on the shoji. I went and opened it and he raised a brow.

“Masami has returned from Hunan. Masami says that her big sister has a cub within her belly.” He said crossing his arms.

“Hai it is true and it happened purely by accident my lord.” I sighed.

“Rumors are flying that the Tsuchigumo are now bigger then the West and only rival Manchuria.” He said raising a brow.

“I have been making treaties and such.” I said meeting his eyes.

“What have you been doing? Do you forget you are my heir? You do have a council seat and you have not sat upon in it in months!!” he snapped.

“I am sorry! I gave Ishin a son. I have been protecting my family my lord!” I said.

“Make time for this family Asuna! You do have inu in you.” He said crossing his arms.

“I said I am sorry my lord. I shall endeavor to do as you request.” I said bowing.

“What about Yuudai?” he asked.

“What about him?” I asked in return.

“He is your mate consort here!” my father hissed.

“If that is your wish then so be it my lord but I do not have time for things here right now. I may military incursions to plan.” I said.

“What now?” he demanded.

“Not now my lord. I shall sit down with Yuudai and discuss things.” I said clenching my jaw.

He stormed from my chambers and I sighed. I lifted my head and walked along till I made it to the barracks. My soldiers were gawking at me and I lifted my head higher. I walked into the study and Yuudai looked up.

“Chuusin?” he asked stunned.

“It seems I have been dressed down by Lord Sesshomaru. I have neglected my duties in the West and I am sorry.” I said sitting.

“You look stunning.” He said softly.

“Thank you. Come let me show you something.” I said.

He stood up and followed me out of the study and into the field. I snapped my wrist and released my yoki. The resulting explosion was tremendous as we stepped back. He looked at me shocked and I met his eyes.

“Give me time.” I said bowing my head.

“I can do that. I will do that. I want my sister Asuna.” He said looking at me.

“Yuzuna is Yuuta and my daughter Yuudai. I will not discuss it further.” I said clenching my jaw.

“Then give me a son. Give me what was ripped from us!” he said in anguish.

“I will consider it later Yuudai.” I said bowing.

“Where are you going?” he demanded.

“I am seeing my healer.” I said.

“Yasu is here Asuna.” Yuudai said in a growl.

“Nobu is my healer on a regular basis. I have some issues right now.” I said softly.

“Masami is really beautiful but has said you are to bear that thing another cub!” he snarled.

“This does not endear me to you Yuudai.” I snarled back.

“Of course not. He was dead too and you rush back to him the second he awakens and you deny me! You know what? You can rot and act like a kumo or a tigress. Act whatever way but what you are! I will have my sister!” he said slapping me.

“She is my daughter and you will not touch her! Yuuta is an excellent father!” I said drawing back my claws.

“Right! Such a good father. Taking my mate to his bed! He is disgusting and you a fool.” Yuudai said storming away.

I sighed and it did not hurt me that much. I shrugged and ported to Gifu. Nobu was reading as he sipped his tea and sat it down upon a low table. I noticed he reclined against a za-isu and went over to him.

“Hello.” I stated.

“Hello my lady.” He said looking up.

I sat next to him and he met my eyes. He smiled and handed me his tea. I sipped it and proceeded to lay my head in his lap.

“Nobu, you make me feel safe. You make me feel normal.” I said closing my eyes.

“You are a very powerful ruler and you are fixing to be more so. You need to time to be yourself.” He said softly as his claws went through my hair.

“I stated that I was taken back the old borders in the south.” I said.

“What? That land is now dragon and neko territories!” he said in shock.

“I remember you Nobu. You were Mizuki's age and you made yourself try and disappear into the shadows.” I said with my eyes closed.

“Hai.” He said softly.

“Hisashi pushed us out of the palace and you went with the guards. You were so frightened. You were going to try and help me but I nodded for you to hide.” I said drifting.

“Hai.” He said in a barely audible tone.

“Such a sweet boy you were. You would sit in the gardens and Aya was training.” I said remembering.

“Hai.” He said choking up.

“You said Sadaharu executed your sire?” I asked.

“Hai. Aya and I kept our mouths shut and went along with Hisashi. My father tried to get to Jouichi after Hisashi fought him. I do know that Hisashi was bleeding horribly but it was not clear why. My father was loyal to Jouichi and Sadaharu went in and decapitated him. I had gone with him for my safety and ended up an orphan. Our mother was killed in the ensuing battle. Aya kept me sheltered; she is twenty years my senior.” He said shaking.

“Nobu.” I whispered.

“Old memories my lady. You were so pretty as Sorami. I used to like to watch you practice your blade with Airi; as much as I hated that bitch! You would come by and ruffle my hair. I closed your eyes after you died.” He said beginning to sob.

I sat up and I pulled him into my arms. He looked up and I had never seen him so emotional. He held my face and I did the same.

“I am having violent emotions my lady. Please let me up.” He said softly.

“Are you angry with me Nobu?” I asked.

“No. I am not angry with you. I cannot be Asuna. I am going to hunt I think.” He said in a small voice.

“Truly?” I asked.

“Hai. I have not taken in meat in over six months.” He said running a hand through his hair.

“You will not allow me to see you?” I asked.

“Why?” he asked surprised.

“I will find you later.” I said lying down.

He nodded and I sighed. I waited nearly an hour and then changed form and stood on my hind legs and scented the wind. I moved with stealth and caught sight of his funnel. I changed and I sensed to see if I felt any animals. I changed form and I moved to his funnel. I saw the trip lines and smiled.

“Nobu?” I called out.

He said nothing but I knew he heard.

“I hope you have eaten.” I said.

He still did not come out and I decided to see if he was there. I climbed up the web and looked down. He was at the bottom.

“Nobu?” I called.

He shifted but did not say anything. I grew concerned and I lifted my nose.

“You are bleeding! Nobu can you not change back?” I asked.

I heard the high pitched sound and I kept calm. I let my Dakkasou seep to my claws and I slid down the web and split it open. He was trembling and I went to his side and I felt it and he was bleeding.

“Okay. I am pushing my yoki through you. Pull on it and change okay?” I said.

He made a noise and he settled down. I touched him and forced my yoki through him. He did as I instructed and he changed form. He had a huge gash in his side and he was breathing hard.

“Tell me what to do.” I said with a shaky voice.

“Use your toxin and slowly drip it in.” he said grimacing.

“Alright.” I said and did what he said.

He growled softly and I ported us back to his dwelling. He was sweating and I moved to his medicines.

“Echinacea right there. Boil some water and bring that poultice here.” He said wincing.

“What got you Nobu?” I asked softly as I did as he asked.

“Serpent. Nihon-Mamushi I believe. It was a youki and it bit into me.” He said breathing hard.

“Did he inject you with venom?” I asked concerned.

“Hai. That is what the poultice is for.” He said closing his eyes.

I brought the medicines and I kneeled next to him. I saw the angry streaks coming from the wound.

“Are silver inu immune? I have never faced it.” I said.

“Hai.” He nodded.

I lowered my head and sank my fangs above the wound. He groaned loudly as I made sure it felt pleasant. I drank the putrid blood and drew back quite a bit of the toxin. I put the Echinacea in some boiling water in a pot over the fire. I applied the poultice to the wound and he closed his eyes as the foul smelling medicine seemed to burn. I went and picked up bandages and wrapped it around his abdomen and laid him back. I made the tea and brought it to him. He drank it slowly and set it down. He lay on his good side and picked up a simple wooden brush and ran it through his hair. I plaited it off and settled next to him.

“You have been injured enough to know what to do.” He mumbled.

“Hai.” I said gently.

“Thank you for coming to find me.” He stated.

“My pleasure. Your true form is handsome.” I said in his ear.

“Please! I am an eight legged arachnid. I do not find my true form useful at all except for the occasional hunt.” He said chuckling.

“As you wish healer Nobu. Shall I retrieve Aya?” I asked.

“Would you?” he asked.

“Hai.” I said as I stood.

I ported to Sendai and I moved through the halls. I was grabbed and whirled around. Bihua was holding me tightly and growled fiercely.

“Healer Nobu is injured. I suggest you let me go!” I snarled.

“Fine. I will see you soon!” he growled in my ear.

He released me and I made my way to Aya. She was actually in a kimono and her hair was down.

“Aya!” I yelled.

“My lady?” she asked.

“Nobu was injured by a serpent. He is at your childhood home.” I said quickly.

“Gifu?” she asked shocked.

“Hai.” I nodded.

I saved her the energy and ported us there myself. She came to Nobu's side and gently shook him awake.

“Now why did you go and deal with a snake? Were you trying to get its venom?” she asked.

She looked at him tenderly and she was obviously protective of him. I ported out to give them privacy and closed my eyes as I sank to knees in my rooms in the West. I wiped away tears and went to my futon and lay down. He had preferred her there instead of me and it stung. I sighed and did not even bother to change.

I made sure to spend the next several days very busy and amongst my mainland mates. I spent a few days in Buda and enjoyed time with Eyal. I masked my condition and he seemed non plussed. Rina ran through the castle terrorizing Jarek who obviously adored his baby sister. I was nursing Asher as I read my magistrates reports. Judafre was on a blanket on the floor gurgling.

“You are morose.” Eyal stated.

“Too much going on.” I muttered.

“You always have a lot going on, care to share?” he asked.

“Reuniting the Tsuchigumo and it has been taxing. You owe me by the way.” I said.

“I do? Oh da I do. Your surprise visit to the past. Oh I will pay you.” He grinned.

I smiled at him and went back to my reading. I saw Jarek come in and he looked shocked.

“Son?” Eyal asked.

“There is tiger daemon in the parlor and he demands to see you.” Jarek said.

“Did he give his name?” I asked.

“Quon Hu.” Jarek replied.

I closed my eyes and began growling. Eyal stood up and followed me to the parlor. Quon's tail was thrashing about and his arms were crossed. He was dressed in state with a royal top knot and I walked forward. I was only wearing a dressing gown and Asher was on my hip.

“You should at least be checking in at Changsha Asuna!” he growled.

“I am sorry but I feel fine.” I said softly.

“Yes but you did at first with Zihao!” he yelled.

“Do not yell at her in my home tiger.” Eyal said calmly.

“I do not know you but I am assuming you are one of her mates. I also am mated to this nu zi and she carries my cub within her. Now if you wish to interfere then go ahead but the consequences would not be good.” Quon said in a civil tone.

“Deal with feline and send him packing my dear. You are on my time and not his.” Eyal said sarcastically.

“Quon no!” I yelled.

Rina ran in and she stared at Quon. My Byakko mate looked at her and Asher and then sighed.

“Kiang shi young. You had no issue with them did you?” he asked softly.

“No. My body handles uppyr babes very well.” I said.

“Lucky you kiang shi.” Quon said bitterly.

“Why would that be tiger?” Eyal asked.

“My son nearly killed her.” Quon said and ported via his shoki mist.

Eyal was on the stair case and looked at me. I did not meet his eyes and he came to my level.

“What does he mean?” he demanded.

“Byakko shoki is deadly. Zihao was leeching it into my blood. I had fevers and coma with him. They had to bind my yoki.” I said sighing.

“You carry another of his young? Are you wishing for death?” Eyal demanded.

“Stop! I had to consent to a concubine and it happened. Blame the uppyr blood that my heat is irregular!” I snapped.

“Uppyr women are highly fertile Asuna. You should have asked.” He said sighing.

“I do not have time for temper tantrums right now. Do not even dare suggest I rid myself of her!” I growled.

“You would take the chance of dying?” he snapped.

“I can think of no better reason.” I said in anger.

“Go to the tiger's home! I will bring the boys to the Egyptian.” He commanded.

“Do not order me around Eyal! You are not my master.” I snapped.

“No just one of your mates.” He growled.

“Fine I shall go. Bring Rina to Qinghai tomorrow?” I asked.

“Da.” He nodded.

He took Asher from my arms and I kissed him and Rina. I moved back into the library and picked up Judafre and kissed him. Eyal took him as well and I bowed. I ported to Hunan and went in search of Quon. He was in his sire's den and he looked upset.

“I am here and as you can see I am well.” I said.

“I cannot handle this Asuna. I am having nightmares.” Quon said in a defeated voice.

“Divorce me then. Leave me but you will not force me to kill our daughter. You do not have to see her but she will be born and be safe.” I said firmly.

His face became wrathful and Chen exited the den. Quon clenched his fist and roared his anger.

“You will not listen to me! Why is having my cub that important to you? We have Zihao and I love our son with everything in me. I love his mother with my soul and she will leave me! How can I handle that?” he hissed.

“Because Quon. A wraith brought back Yuudai and I barely speak to him. Kaito did this thing and you are here and I am here. I am where I wish to be. It was no thought to be with you again and my childhood best friend is at the Western Palace furious that I choose you. Think on that my prince and ask that question again. I have wanted to give Zihao a sibling of both our blood. You have no idea what it was to carry him. It was one of the most incredible feelings because it was your babe. I am sorry you do not see that as worth it.” I said softly.

He moved to me and lifted my chin. His lips claimed mine and he wrapped his arms around me protectively.

“I love you.” He said passionately.

He was kissing me again and I was loosing my mind to him. I distantly heard Chen come back in and he cleared his throat.

“Sorry ba.” Quon said holding my face.

“So glad you two are not arguing. Can I have my den back now?” he asked.

“Hai.” I nodded.

I ported Quon and me to his chambers and he pulled me to the bed and curled his feline body around mine. I felt safe and I felt profound love that I had with my kumo mates.

“Promise me you will not leave me. Promise me that she will be okay.” He said in my ear.

“As much as I can. I love you Quon Hu. I attended your tomb every week. Zihao and I said prayers for you together. I prostrated myself before your shrine and prayed to the Gods that you were happy.” I said sleepily.

“Asuna.” He said in an emotional voice.

“When I scented you when you were given back; I could only think that the Gods answered my prayers. I know not what I shall give Kaito for this but I will do his will. I will probably not see him for several years.” I said with closed eyes.

“So you did give him his babe.” He said softly.

“Hai. Her name is Hikari. I feel her quite a bit but she is a wraith. She was close to a year when she began to be unable to stay on this plane.” I explained.

“I would be honored to meet her.” He said purring.

“She is a prankster. She would play games on you.” I said sweetly.

“You would give him another?” he asked.

“Much later if he wished.” I yawned.

I had been speaking of her and she was on the bed and began jumping up and down. Quon sprung up and stared at my wraith daughter. She was laughing merrily and Quon smirked.

“Pretty kitty.” She said continuing to jump.

“Hello.” Quon said.

“Hello. Haha!” she said jumping on me.

“Hikari.” I murmured softly.

“Chichi always tired and Uncle Kaimei has been spanked.” She giggled.

“How?” I asked shocked.

“Uncle Yasu.” She said laughing harder.

She crawled over to Quon and kissed his nose.

“Chichi say you sweet kitty.” She said petting him.

Quon began laughing hard and Zihao came into the bedroom.

“Hikari!” he said happily.

“Hello brother kitty!” she said jumping into his arms.

“Chichi say he hear you and he say you come to him. He want to talk to you. He say he give you something.” She said laughing.

“Give me something?” I asked.

“Hai. He say you worried and you no worry. He say pretty kitty no worry.” She said playing with Quon's tail.

“Did chichi say how long he has to stay away?” I asked softly.

“He say he cannot come to Fuji for years. He say you happy though.” She said wrapping her arms around me.

“Okay I go now. I see you soon haha!” she said suddenly phasing out.

I began sobbing as I did every time she left. Quon held me as I let me grief out.

“I was hunted after she was born, that was right after Hiroto, Hana, Nori, and Kenji were killed.” I said wiping away my tears.

“I do not know all that happened Asuna.” He stated.

“I have no wish to dwell. My love I need to check on Nobu as he was attacked by a serpent. He and Guang are the ones that shall help me through this.” I said touching his cheek.

“Come to me soon my love.” He said.

“Hai.” I said bowing.

Zihao hugged me and I actually ported to Qinghai. I was in the palace and I went in search of my Chief Magistrate. I walked into his office and I was shocked to see Junsaku.

“By the Kamis! Junsaku?” I asked in a happy tone.

“My lady!” he said hugging me tightly.

“How are you my friend?” I asked.

“Good! I am very good. I am to be mated soon.” He said.

“Finally! I am very happy for you. How is your estate?” I asked sitting.

“Flourishing. I was here asking for some assistance with weasels.” He said.

“Changming?” I asked.

“Pests at best. Whatever you need Sir Junsaku.” Changming said.

My old lover bowed and winked at me and I smiled at him. He left the office and I turned to Changming.

“I am tired my friend. I am planning a big event and I should like to show off the splendors of my lands to all. The Tsuchigumo Kingdom is in the process of being restored.” I said leaning on a chaise.

“That can be arranged. How obnoxious do you wish to be?” he asked smirking.

“None will doubt who rules.” I said flatly.

“Such an onna! Trust me my lady and you will have the most ostentatious display of power since the days of the unveiling of the Forbidden City.” He said smiling.

“More taste please.” I laughed.

“When shall this take place?” he asked.

“Two weeks. Enough time?” I asked.

“Hai.” He said bowing his head.

“I am for bed then.” I said yawning.

“Good evening mistress.” He said bowing.

I looked at him and smiled. I left and went to my chambers and lay down upon the bed. Thoughts drifted to Nobu but I shut my mind down. I was more then sleepy but I did not rest. I sighed and gave up; I ported myself to Gifu and Aya was serving Nobu tea. I bowed and kept myself formal even though I wore a dressing gown.

“Please inform Ishin and Naraku that I am having preparations made for a meeting of the dragons and neko at my Qinghai palace. I shall be staying on the mainland sometime as I have issues within MY own lands that require my attention. Get well healer.” I said bowing.

“My lady! It is not a good idea to remove yourself from the talks just yet.” Aya said.

“I am inu and I am uppyr General Aya. I am Ishin and Naraku's consort and no more. I have lands that have thousands of inu who need my attention instead of the kumo. I have been remiss in my duties; all of them. My own mate consort is rather put out at the moment and I think needs my attention.” I said bowing.

“My lady?” Nobu asked.

“Hai healer?” I asked raising a brow.

“Aya can you go hunt something for a few minutes?” Nobu asked.

“Hai.” She said bowing.

I watched her as she left and I stared at Nobu.

“Why are you being hateful all of a sudden?” he growled.

“I am not. I have been reminded of where my responsibilities lie is all. You look much better.” I said moving away.

“Be a bitch.” He said calmly.

“I am a bitch! I am inu and I certainly am not a legendary kumo onna. I have no wish to further embarrass or make you uncomfortable.” I said flatly.

He started to say something but I ported back to Qinghai. He would tell Ishin and Naraku; I was angry at myself for allowing deep feelings to enter in. I fell into a deep trance and decided to try and see Kaito. I projected myself and I sensed him but did not see him yet.

“You did a wonderful thing for me my sweet and I shall always be grateful. I hope I will at least be able to see you in this realm soon.” I stated aloud.

I felt warmth flood me and I was being shaken roughly. I came to and sucked in my breath, Nobu was the one shaking me and he looked scared.

“What happened? You did not respond at all.” He said feeling my head.

“I was projecting healer. I fall into a deep trance. Why have you risen?” I asked.

“To understand your actions; why are you pulling from me?” he asked.

“You do not want this. You crave it but do not want it. You and I are a lot alike in that self hatred is our main theme. You are a good person and I am not but an autocratic ruler with too much time and lust.” I said evenly.

He stood up and I could see I had hit a nerve. I still had on my dressing gown and I sat up. I went to my armoire and pulled out a sleep shift and it was made of see through silk. I stepped behind the screen and put it on. I moved back to my bed and covered myself with a quilt.

“Nobu, there are rooms off of this one that have their own beds. If you should like then stay here. I know you still are recovering. I am very tired and need rest.” I said closing my eyes.

“Ishin has always said you have a way with words that would act as a whip to skin. I shall stay the night as my yoki is taxed. Good evening my lady.” He said bowing.

“Good evening healer.” I said rolling to my side.

I heard him leave my bedroom and I finally fell asleep. I woke up in the morning to a glorious day and stretched. I heard a knock on the door and I called enter.

“Mistress! Good morning my lady. Here is your breakfast and the plans for the meeting. Let me know what you think.” Changming said setting down a tray.

“Thank you Chang!” I said smiling.

He chuckled and left me. He had brought me rice balls with a sweet broth and watered down wine. I sipped the liquid and stabbed at the rice balls with my chopsticks. I read his plans and I smirked at his witty writing. Nobu came in and bowed before me.

“Are you hungry?” I asked.

“No. I need to check your cub my lady.” He said stiffly.

I set aside my tray and he pulled up my shift. He pressed his ear to my stomach and then lifted his head.

“She grows well. I believe it prudent if you come to Sendai later.” He said in a formal way.

“No. I shall go to Guang from now on healer. I have pressed my wants upon you too much.” I said picking up the parchment.

“Stop it now! I have cared for you for several years now Asuna. I know your anatomy better then even your Yasu. If you wish to act indifferent then so be it. I am no stranger to discomfort but do not act as if anyone else could care for this babe better.” He said coldly.

“You may go.” I said without looking up.

“What did I do that made you cold?” he demanded.

“Nothing.” I said without looking at him.

He was angry and he stood up. He looked back at me and growled. He jerked the parchment away and made me look at him.

“I have said you can go. You have other things that need doing I imagine.” I said meeting his eyes.

“Ishin does not dismiss me!” he snapped.

“I am not Ishin. I am me.” I said.

“No you are not.” He said in a distant tone.

“Goodbye healer.” I said crossing my arms.

“I am not in the habit of rutting for the hell of it.” He said in a frigid tone.

“Apparently I do.” I said blinking at him.

He jerked me to him roughly and held me so that I had to look him directly in the eye.

“You wanted to be the one to care for me. It hurt you that I wanted Aya there.” He said.

“No. She is your family and I am not but just a patient.” I said tonelessly.

“Why did you ask if I wanted Aya there?” he demanded loudly.

“Trying to be thoughtful.” I shrugged.

“You wished to keep Gifu as a secluded place and I opened it up.” He said lightly shaking me.

“No matter really Nobu.” I said again shrugging.

“Liar!” he hissed.

“As you wish.” I shrugged.

“Do not do this Asuna! I do not give my heart and feelings easily and right now I am feeling rather betrayed.” Nobu said in anger.

“You did not wish to continue Nobu. You have been questioning your motives so I have taken the decision from you.” I said softly.

He pressed his lips to mine softly but insistently and I was surprised. He demanded entrance to my mouth and thrust his tongue to explore me. He suddenly pulled back and lifted my shift up and over my head. He threw it and angrily threw the tray. It crashed and my eyes held surprise at his actions. He spread my thighs wide and settled his weight in such a way I was pinned. He pressed my breasts together and aggressively lowered his head and began licking and tugging at them with his teeth. My face contorted and I clenched my teeth then groaned. He lifted his mouth and licked and kissed at my lips. Nobu continued to suck and kiss at my lips then my tits. I had to lift my hand and hold the door shut and Changming growled. Nobu was beyond caring it seemed and he pressed in his claw and it stung as he went deeper. He released small amounts of his wonderful toxin and my head came off the bed. I released groan after groan as he still plunged and pulled back his fingers and he suckled my breasts. He lifted his head and again kissed at my lips. Changming had apparently given up and I was trying to take in enough air. “Nobu?” I croaked.

“Hai.” He whispered.

“The door.” I said exhausted.

“They can rot.” He replied in my ear.

“Persistent.” I groaned.

“Do not care.” He said holding me tightly.

I felt a tremendous aura and Changming appeared suddenly. I barely lifted my head and I turned red when he turned red. Nobu blinked at my lord magistrate.

“Sorry! I am so sorry!” he cried beating a hasty retreat.

“Ass.” Nobu muttered.

“They are loyal to me.” I said shaking.

“You need sleep. Somehow we always manage to drain the other during the act.” He murmured.

“Amplifying our yoki against each other.” I mumbled.

“That would explain it.” He yawned.

“Were you like this with Ine or Juuna?” I asked.

“No. I become immodest around you.” He said cupping my breasts.

He continued running his hands over my body and he finally passed out. I extracted myself and put on a hanfu of black. I slipped from my chambers and I went to Changming's study. Geming and Chang looked sheepish and I sat down.

“Your cries were numerous.” Chang said with a red face.

“I am sorry. Path next time Chang!” I said mortified.

“So the kumo makes you scream hmmm?” Geming asked in a cocky tone.

“I shall not discuss my partners.” I said as my cheeks blush.

“Which kumo is it my lady?” Geming asked.

“None of your business General. Now if you do not mind I have to return to Honshu. Please see to the meeting details Chang.” I said rising.

“Hai mistress. I am sorry but please understand that your safety is the utmost importance.” He said.

“Thank you both.” I said bowing.

I went back to my chambers and Nobu was sprawled across the bed. The urge to attack him hit me and I proceeded to rouse him in pleasurable ways.

I had returned to Sendai and Nobu was acting differently towards me. I had been walking to my chambers when he pulled me into the shadows. He held my jaw and my eyes watched him. He lightly licked at my lips then nipped at them. He released me and slid down my body to listen to the cub. I heard others nearby and he seemed very no nonsense but a hand was cupping my backside as he squeezed the pliant flesh.

“She is good.” He said stepping back.

He stepped back and bowed to me and went on about his business. I just stood there and then got my wits about me. The summit continued and I made appearances here and there. I had all my offspring under one roof at the moment and it was a ruckus. The siblings were tearing up the nursery but it made me happy. I went in and Kazuo sat by the window and just stared out. I came and put my hand on his shoulder and he did not acknowledge me.

“You will come my son.” I said.

“Hai.” He said.

He was nearing sixteen summers and he still was not himself. I led him through the halls and into the valley. I fingered the pendent that I never took off and thought of my ga. I had not seen in him in quite a while but I knew he was facing issues within the Mongolian border. I would aid him if he asked but he never did.

“Kazuo, I have spent several years trying to reach you and beg you to come back. I cannot imagine the anguish you feel but your sire tells me that you have not been eating.” I said softly.

“What is the point Mother?” he said staring out.

“I would have you be honest with me and say whatever is in your heart without fear of reprisal.” I said.

“Anything?” he asked.

“Hai.” I nodded.

“Where were you? Where were you as my brother and my sister lost their heads? Where were you as my father nearly died again? I can answer mother; you were with your good pups. You could not tear yourself from his young. We were from your old life and not worth the great Lady Asuna.” He said with tears slipping down his cheeks.

I felt Naraku and he was angry. I put up my hand up to silence my mate.

“I cannot make you believe me but I have never favored my younger pups over you. If hating me makes you want to live again then so be it. Hate me and I shall free you of having to ever see me again my son.” I said trying to remain stoic.

“You would quit forcing me to endure your presence?” He asked.

“Return to your sire and Ang Chi. You need never see me again.” I said softly.

He lifted his head and I saw hatred in his eyes. He ported out and I slid down a tree and stared into the forest.

“How could you let him speak like that to you?” Naraku asked.

“I would rather he try and live. If he already hates me then maybe by allowing him to say it then he will feel again. I lost him the day they died beloved. I have now only made it official.” I said suppressing my sobbing.

“Asuna.” He said softly.

“Maybe I do favor my kumo babes. Maybe they see that and I do not. I mean I have Yuzuna who is the only inu pup I truly have anymore. I have separated from my inu roots and the thing is that Yuuta understands. Yuudai will not but I cannot continue to fracture that house.” I said inspecting my claws.

I stood up and walked away. He knew me too well and knew I was trying to seek privacy and fall apart.

Naraku moved through the Winter Palace halls and finally found Sheng amongst Manchu inu. He was directing a building project it seemed and he saw him.

“Thank you. I shall be back directly.” Sheng said to the workers.

They nodded and he neared Naraku. They were not enemies but they were not fast friends. Mutual respect was there and Sheng neared the shape shifting youki.

“Lord Naraku. What can I do for you?” he asked.

“Your son has returned I assume?” Naraku asked.

“Hai. He is with Ang Chi hunting.” Sheng said.

“How long has he hated his mother?” Naraku asked.

“He did not hate her. What would make you think such a thing?” Sheng asked.

“Asuna had him tell her his heart. He thinks she abandoned you all here and he thinks she favors my children.” Naraku said angrily.

“I know not what to say. He does not speak of it and I have implored him. I shall speak to him.” Sheng said looking away.

“Why did it not work with her?” Naraku demanded.

“She always chose you. She will always choose you even above the kumo. Does he know that?” Sheng asked.

“It is not like that anymore. Our ways are different from inu.” Naraku said.

“Right! Now that you remember who you are. Maybe Kazuo saw the truth and realized his mother never loved his father. Maybe he realized that you and the kumo are her world. I am supposing here.” Sheng said softly.

“I see. She would have been here sooner but both of my sons lay dead as well as Ayana. You have one of your sons left Lord Sheng. I lost both of mine.” Naraku said bitterly.

“I am truly grieved at that Naraku. You won my friend. You won her over many years ago and I never stood a chance. Jin never stood a chance either. Pardon me Lord Naraku as I am busy as well.” He said bowing.

“He said he hated her. He was thrilled that he would never have to endure her presence again.” Naraku said in anger.

“Does not your eldest have her feelings? She is almost fifteen summers?” Sheng asked.

“Hai. She knows her mother and would never abandon her.” Naraku hissed.

“That is the rub; Kazuo quit knowing his along time ago. Good day!” Sheng said.

Naraku stood in a fury and ported back to Sendai. This was apart of his old world and it infuriated him. The mutt made him see red. He spied his mate upon their futon crying silently. Ishin came up and looked concerned. Naraku motioned and he followed his brother.

“What is wrong? The council wants to her.” Ishin said.

“She told Sheng's son to be frank with her and he said he hated her. She dismissed him and said he never had to see her again. The boy thinks she favors our young over her inu.” Naraku explained.

“She does though.” Ishin said softly.

“She has Yuzuna and that is all! What does she have left of her inu pups? Nothing!” Naraku hissed.

“What are you suggesting?” Ishin demanded.

“Not a damn thing. I just know what she has given up for us. I have realized she has given us almost everything she is.” Naraku stated in guilt.

“I am sorry you think that. I feel like we have something great here. We have a great family Naraku. We have a large family. We did not have that as younglings and we know that is what we wanted. Why should we feel bad for that?” Ishin asked.

“We should not but I feel for her. She will give up her son because she thinks it will make him happy. The only thing that will help that boy is having his twin back.” Naraku said bitterly.

Ishin sighed and went back to the bickering kumo council. He had not realized but his people had fallen in love with his mate too. He watched his brother and he sighed. He motioned for some wine and he thought.

I was working with Changming on the meeting as I called it and I sensed Sheng. Chang also sensed him and we looked up.

“He raised me and I never knew he had this place.” Sheng said from the doorway.

“Sheng? What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Naraku came to admonish me about our son.” Sheng said.

“He told me about it after the fact Sheng. I did not ask him to. Changming could you give us a moment?” I asked.

“Hai my lady.” Chang said eyeing his brother.

Sheng nodded his head and came to sit across from me. He was shielding tightly and I sighed.

“Look I did not ask him to. You need not consult me about Kazuo but not that you really did. You are a wonderful father Sheng.” I said standing.

I went to the window and stared out at the city below.

“You are planning something big.” Sheng commented.

“Hai.” I nodded.

I looked at my hands and they were dusky. I sighed as I saw the beginnings of the cub's shoki.

“Sheng, I have to go my friend.” I said softly.

“Why? Why do always run?” he asked.

“Sheng please not right now.” I said in a tired voice.

“Why not right now? Why is it like that between us? You command and I am supposed to cower before the great Asuna.” He said.

“I said NOT RIGHT NOW!” I yelled.

“No, you will face this Asuna. For once while I know you; you will face your issues!” Sheng growled.

My breathing was quickened and my hands felt colder. The cub was telepathic and was reacting to my emotions. I saw Shusin and she looked horrified.

“Shusin, get Zihao now. I cannot right now Sheng…Nobu?” I said as I fell to the floor.

His eyes widened as her maidservant ran calling for the young Byakko prince. Her eyes were open and she was murmuring. He saw a shoki cloud and a kumo appeared.

“Kamis! Asuna, my lady! It is Nobu…this is too soon.” Nobu said.

“What is wrong?” Sheng asked concerned.

Nobu pressed his ear to her belly and his obsidian eyes widened.

“I am sorry inu. The questions have to wait.” Nobu said.

Zihao ran in and he fell to his mother's side.

“Tell me if I heard correctly prince.” Nobu said.

The young Byakko boy pressed his ear to her belly and his amber eyes widened. He looked up and nodded.

“Ba! We have to take her to ba.” Zihao said.

“What is wrong?” Sheng demanded.

“I said not now inu.” Nobu said picking her up and Zihao put his hand on his elbow and made his shoki cloud appear and he stepped through.

Zihao ran like the wind into the Hunan palace yelling for his sire the whole time. His uncle Ling stopped him first and calmed him down.

“Zihao, what is wrong?” Ling asked.

“Ba? Where is ba? I need Guang too.” Zihao said out of breath.

“Your ba is in council right now. Is it your mother?” Ling asked.

“Hai. The kumo healer has her and we need Guang.” Zihao said running to council room.

Zihao pushed open the doors and his ba and jii-chan looked at him in admonishment.

“Son! You are supposed to be with your mother.” Quon said sternly.

“Ba! It is about haha! She collapsed.” Zihao said emphatically.

Quon jumped up and ran towards his chambers. Zihao followed and the Byakko heir saw Guang and the kumo healer talking.

“My prince you need to sit down.” Guang said.

“It is too soon! She did not do this with Zihao!!” he said in a frightened tone.

“Prince Quon sit down now cub!” Guang commanded.

Quon sat and he growled. Zihao slipped in and he watched the scene unfold.

“Quon my boy she is having twins. Not just any type of twins but identical. They are now just starting to have distinct minds.” Guang said calmly.

Quon mouthed twins and shook his head.

“What are you saying? I am having twin daughters?” Quon asked stunned.

“Hai Byakko. There are now two tiny minds and they are powerful little telepaths already.” Nobu said.

“She will die! She could barely handle one let alone two!” Quon lamented.

“We already have a plan. This brilliant healer has been developing an anti-shoki as we are calling it. He has been working on it for weeks. That is what you have been providing your shoki for.” Guang explained.

“What do you mean?” Quon asked.

“It means Prince Quon that we are forcing her body to become immune to Byakko shoki. If this works a Byakko's shoki will never harm her again.” Nobu explained.

“Can you do that?” he asked.

“Ningen have an easier time with it then a youki but I have been already giving it to her. It will take time and she may collapse from your daughters' shoki but it will only make her bed ridden. She is only fainting and her extremities are cold but it is working.” Nobu said.

Quon actually broke down and Guang patted his back. Zihao began purring to try and calm his sire and the healers stepped back.

“You are brilliant kumo.” Guang said in Korean.

“Thank you.” Nobu said inclining his head.

“How long have you loved her as well?” Guang asked.

“All my people love her. They are convinced she is the reincarnation of our greatest ruler, Ayana. I am not convinced that she is not.” Nobu stated.

“Right.” Guang chuckled.

Quon looked up gratefully and Chen entered. Nobu ported out to give them time. The Byakko lord sat down and looked concerned.

“She is going to be fine ba. Guang and the kumo have come up with a way to help her. She is giving me twin girls.” Quon said brushing hair off of her face.

“She is alright?” Chen asked gratefully.

“Yes. Ba they said she will eventually become immune to our shoki. If she desires she can have as many of my cubs as she wishes.” Quon said in an emotional tone.

Zihao climbed up on the bed and curled his body around his mother. He began purring louder and he connected with his baby sisters.

“Ba! I sense them! They are purring too!” Zihao said excited.

“Thank the Gods!” Quon said softly.

“I will tell the council that their princess is giving us two more Byakko cubs.” Chen said happily.

He nodded and looked down at the love of his life and kissed her softly. She continued to sleep and he decided to have heavier hanfu made for her. Her hands were freezing but she had no fever.

I could not warm up my hands but I continued to take in the anti-shoki as Nobu called it. I took to wearing heavier hanfu and I had never been one to feel the cold too much. The hot spring became my favorite place to be. The meeting was a week away and Ryuu had confirmed attendance and Li had made sure Lord Hikaru would attend. Nobu came in and handed me the foul drink but I drained it.

“I love you.” He whispered in my ear.

“I love you.” I murmured under my breath.

He stood straight and looked around. He leaned over and took my lips in a devastatingly gentle kiss. It lasted a moment and he backed away.

“I shall return with another dose this evening my lady.” He said.

“Thank you healer.” I nodded.

-I have not felt you in a few days. - He pathed.

-You have been busy! - I laughed in his mind.

-Gifu? - He pathed.

I barely nodded and he bowed. He left and my cheeks burned. He managed to do things to me that no other had or would. He pushed me to what I thought were my limits and brought me to heights of ecstasy. I was reading when Sheng was admitted by Zhou. She still head up my household but she chose my maid servants and she had them on a schedule. She managed my huge family to perfection and I adored her still.

“Thank you Zhou!” I called.

“I shall be back in the morrow my lady. Your brother and I are spending the evening in Akita.” She said bowing.

“Have fun. Remember no pups!” I said smiling.

“Hai my lady.” She laughed.

“You look much better.” Sheng said.

“I am sorry that I ran away so to speak. There has been concern for my health. Please say whatever it is you need.” I said sitting back.

“You are having another Byakko?” he asked.

“Hai.” I nodded.

“Well Prince Quon should be thrilled.” He said meeting my eyes.

“He is. What do you wish Sheng? I have relinquished any custody on our son. I am hoping that by focusing his anger he will find a way to be happy even a little. You made your feelings quite clear to Naraku. Kazuo quit knowing me long ago? Please say your peace and leave me alone forever.” I said standing.

“Kazuo has not healed and I know not what to do. He feels you abandoned him to me.” Sheng said.

“I did. I have done what you accuse me of because I knew not what to do either. He pulled away from me so far that he would not even speak to me. I saw him only speak to you and I felt that maybe he was better off. I failed him Sheng. I agree that I failed him so let him hate me.” I said calmly.

“You do not believe this shit you are dribbling!” he snarled.

“I do. Do you not believe it as well? Naraku won as you put it. You never stood a chance.” I said in anger.

“So did he tell you or did you take it from his memories?” he demanded.

“He told me. Why would he not? Leave now!” I yelled.

“He is still your son and he still needs his mother even if he thinks he does not! Maybe he is right and the kumo are more important! Maybe when Hiroto and Hana died the last vestiges of your inu self died too. Maybe you cannot face him because you did put Naraku and Ishin's pups above him.” Sheng hissed.

“Stop! Stop it! It was a kumo that murdered them! How dare you.” I snarled.

“Coward! You are a fucking coward.” He snapped.

Ishin walked in and his face held fury. Sheng growled and I tried to calm down.

“I suggest you leave inu.” Ishin said in a deadly voice.

“You think I fear you kumo? You at least had your daughter returned to you. My son and daughter are dead and they have stayed dead. My other son still is not right and do not dare threaten me! It was your fault my pups are dead!” Sheng snarled in fury.

“Leave now inu.” Ishin said in a growl.

“Have you ever said you were sorry to her? Did you say sorry for having her pups die?” Sheng growled.

“What I have said to my mate is not your business. She and I have come to terms with the tragedy and I owe you nothing!” He hissed.

“Damn evil beast! Kumo are evil unnatural creatures.” Sheng said stepping past Ishin.

I turned my head and began crying rather hard. He came closer to me and I shrieked in his hold.

“Asuna! My love I am sorry. I am so sorry beloved.” He said holding me tightly.

“I will never have peace from what that whore did. I have to go.” I said jerking away from him.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“To kill something!” I snapped.

Sheng had developed the ability to port with Jin's help. I pulled on the old bond; I ported to him and I saw we were in Panyu.

“I am tired of your judgments and your anger Sheng! I am tired of having to try and make up for my actions. I am trying to do right by Kazuo.” I said in a fury.

“Leave me alone koi. I am done with even giving a fig about you. I cannot even be your friend anymore.” He said coldly.

“Fine but do not show up in my home and say what you did to my mate!” I said in blinding tears.

Sheng grabbed me by the back of the neck and I heard Jin hiss.

“Unhand her brother.” Jin said calmly.

“Shut up Jin. You wish to fight koi?” he asked in fury.

“Name the time and place Sheng.” I growled.

Fury consumed me and I released the supaida nami from my hand and a retaining wall blew up. Jin's eyes were wide and Sheng actually released me.

“Do not threaten me Sheng, you will not win.” I said coldly.

“I did not mean like that. You now owe Jin for the repairs. You are good at destruction Asuna; why not actually face down your emotions like an adult. Why not actually act like the supposed grown up onna you are supposed to be. You have too much yoki for such a little girl.” Sheng said condescendingly.

Jin shook his head and left; I slapped Sheng and he stood there. I slapped him again and he growled. I went to hit him and he grabbed my wrist. He ported us to He Gang and pushed me down right by Tekeshi's shrine. I snarled at him and he fought me.

“You wish for it to be like this koi?” he hissed.

We were hissing and growling like the inu we were. I dragged my claws across his face and grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until I shrieked. I slapped him with my free hand and he grabbed that one too. I felt the barrier and I started kicking and spitting at him. He grabbed me roughly and forced me over and I snapped in inu. I felt his member teasing my entrance and I snarled in fury at him.

“You will act like the bitch you are for once. You will know what it is to feel like an inu again.” He growled.

It took me seconds to realize my hanfu was hiked up. He pushed into me and I became breathless. He was pulling on the nearly sixteen year old bond we had. He filled me in every way but he did not hurt me. His presence was unlike my mates as it was fuller and more heated. My breath caught and he threw me over the abyss immediately and I was crying out. He would not let me come down from one as he pulled another one as he stroked within me. My body spasmed as well as my mind. I clawed at the ground and he refused to release me from the mental rapture or the physical. I could cry out no more as my voice became raw. My eyes fluttered open and my body was covered by several quilts. I turned my head and Ang Chi sat by my bed.

“Paying respects.” I mumbled.

“Sheng left this for you. He went to Guangzhou.” He said.

I nodded and he left. I opened the letter and he demanded I show myself in Panyu. I stood up and I had been carefully dressed. I ported to Sendai first and went to Nobu's rooms. He looked up and relief flooded him.

“Where have you been? It has been two days!” He cried.

“I passed out. I went to Tekeshi's shrine.” I said softly.

“Take this.” He said handing me the anti-shoki.

I drank it and he was checking the cubs.

“Asuna? What is this?” he asked.

“What is what?” I asked softly.

“There is a greenish mark on your neck.” He said handing me a small looking glass.

“I have to go.” I said suddenly.

“My lady! Talk to me!” he said following me.

“He is up to something. Kamis damn it, he is pulling something.” I growled.

“Who?” Nobu asked.

“Sheng!” I snapped.

I ported out and I was in Guangzhou. I moved through the Panyu palace and Sheng was eating with Jin and Jun. Kazuo was there and he immediately left.

“What is this?” I said pointing to my neck.

“My mark.” Sheng said looking up.

Jin's eyes widened and I was furious.

“How dare you! How dare you!” I yelled.

“I am a prince of Panyu and I am your son's advisor. I am not without power koi. I doubt your kumo could throw you into orgasmic bliss quite the same way. I have been studying with my brother and have unleashed my full yoki. Our bond is so basic I could reach you right now. I see your lovers in your mind's eye. I know your secrets lover.” Sheng said narrowing his eyes.

“Brother!” Jin snapped.

“You never got over her did you Jin? Well neither did I. Go on about your life koi but I can and will insert myself whenever I wish. You are the one that bound us you realize. You are the one that make it so powerful. I am just taking advantage of it.” He said smugly.

“You go too far Sheng.” I growled.

“Not far enough!” he yelled.

I grew furious and ported out. I went to talk with Naraku and Ishin and I was suddenly struck with unbidden passion and heat. I leaned against a wall and I knew that I had no idea of what a Panyu inu could do. I began gasping as the quivering in my belly started and I screamed. Naraku and Ishin ran into the hall and I was panting trying to ride through the mental barrage.

“Asuna?” Naraku asked.

“Kamis. Oh Kamis.” I groaned.

My body arched and my center was throbbing.

“I need him. I need him.” I said thrashing.

“Who?” Ishin asked.

“Me you dumb ass kumo.” Sheng said cruelly.

“What the hell are you doing?” Naraku hissed.

“Taking back what you and your fucking brother stole you worm.” He said picking me up.

“Are you insane?” Naraku snarled.

“My brother is the Lord of Panyu and I its prince. Go fuck yourselves.” He snarled.

Sheng ported us and I was again in Guangzhou. I was gasping and he bunched my hanfu around my hips and lowered his lips to my sex. I cried out as he made me scream for him. He leaned over me and kissed me slowly. I was crying out and groaning. He slowly pulled back.

“We are going to war. You are no longer of them but of us.” He said standing.

“No!” I snarled.

“I should have done this awhile ago. That bastard was the reason my baby girl and son are dead. I know you blamed him. He got her pregnant! Retribution shall be had. Your offspring is being recovered and you will stay here. You are an inu bitch and not a fucking kumo cunt!” He said in anger.

“Sheng…” I growled out.

“The Byakko can kiss my ass too. I shall do as your sire did with your sister. Those girls will be mine. Fair do you not think?” he asked.

“Why are you doing this?” I snarled.

“Because. I have played nice for too long. I have given up half my soul for too long. You gave a demi-god a pup to restore me! It seems I need to live up to my obligations as well!” he snapped.

“Sheng no! Do not do this!” I yelled.

“It is already done!” He said leaving me.

I was in shock and sat back and wondered what the hell had just happened.

The Changsha palace was under attack and Quon was running to get his family to safety. He was ushering his mother and the others out. He saw a Panyu inu and he hissed. He pulled his fang and began striking the soldier's katana. He heard screaming and his blood froze.

“Ba! Ba!” Zihao screamed.

“Zihao!” He said running towards his son.

An inu suddenly knocked him over and he recognized the Lord of Panyu. They began growling and snarling and he watched in horror as the inu who had his son port out.

“No!” He snarled as he shoved his claws into Lord Jin.

“You sorry bastard! You should have stayed dead!” Jin snarled as he grappled with the Byakko prince.

They were rolling and Quon looked over as Princess Yoshiko was being dragged away. Ling was snarling and Yoshiko threw the inu with her mind. Quon watched in horror as his brother's betrothed threw herself in front of a katana for his brother. He grew furious and shoved his blade through Jin's gut and released his freezing shoki. The Panyu lord groaned as he staggered back and Quon raced over to his brother and Yoshiko.

“It hurts! Kamis it hurts.” Yoshiko cried as blood poured from a wound in her gut.

“Take her to the West and get Lord Sesshomaru now!” he commanded Ling.

“Yes brother.” Ling said shaking as he grabbed Yoshiko and produced his mist; he stepped through.

He was shaking and he felt tears fall down his face. He began screaming for help and he saw Lady Augusta and Lord Sesshomaru appear.

“Changsha was attacked. The Panyu attacked us!” Ling cried.

“What?” Sesshomaru snarled.

“Chichi! Haha!” Yoshiko said crying as her life ebbed away.

“Yoshiko!” Augusta screamed as she fell to her daughter's side.

Sesshomaru went to his knees and he screamed for Yasu.

“Augusta get Yasu now!” he yelled.

She nodded and ported to the infirmary. She looked around and began screaming for Yasu. Pain unlike anything she had ever felt ripped through her very soul. She began screaming in agony and fell to the floor.

“Lady Augusta!” Yasu said running in.

“Shiko!” she barely said through the pain.

Yasu picked her up and ran to the main hall of the palace. He went to the princess's side but she was already dead. Lord Sesshomaru and was covered in blood as well as the younger Byakko prince. Both males were seeing red and Augusta lost it totally. She crawled over to the body of her daughter and sobbed brokenly. Sesshomaru could say nothing and Prince Ling stood up and he was shaking furiously. Augusta jerked and screamed louder.

“Mate. Look at me! Augusta!” Sesshomaru said grabbing her.

“Prince Ling go!” she snarled.

He nodded and ported out. The Western Lady sobbed over her second daughter and could not stop.

“Augusta! I need you to port me to Hunan.” Sesshomaru said in a broken tone.

“No. My baby! Sesshomaru? My baby!” She screamed and tore at her hair.

“Jaken!” Sesshomaru yelled.

The little kappa ran to the Western Lord and he stopped dead when he saw the blood and his lord's dead pup.

“Get Prince Youshiro here now!” Sesshomaru snapped.

The kappa ran as fast as he could and went to the barracks.

“Prince Youshiro! Prince Youshiro! General Yuudai!” Jaken screamed.

Youshiro came forward as well as Yuudai. Youshiro blanched as he saw the images in Jaken's mind.

“No! NO!” he yelled.

He grabbed Yuudai and ported to the main hallway. Lady Augusta was inconsolable and Lord Sesshomaru fighting not to change.

“I need you to port us to Hunan now! General Yuudai, mobilize the army now!” Sesshomaru said in a deadly calm voice.

Yuudai bowed and looked stricken. He ran back to the barracks and Youshiro felt hatred fill his veins. He took his sire's arm and ported them to Changsha, Hunan. The blood bath was terrible and Prince Quon was shouting orders. Sesshomaru came to his side and Quon looked at his father in law.

“Who killed my daughter?” Sesshomaru growled.

“Ling skewered him and saved him for you.” Quon said in a low tone.

“Why did Jin do this?” Sesshomaru growled.

“Zihao was taken and they were going to take Yoshiko but she saved Ling's life.” Quon said tightly.

“Where is your sire in all this?” The Western Lord growled.

“Ba is dead.” Quon said shaking.

Sesshomaru turned to Prince Quon and his eyes did not betray his disbelief.

“A Panyu was moving to take Masami and my sire killed him but not before he was wounded. Masami was taken with my mother to Mongolia. I will make sure she is brought home to you and Lady Augusta.” Quon said clenching his jaw.

“Lord Quon. The vermin will pay with their lives.” Sesshomaru promised.

“Thank you my lord.” Quon bowed.

Sesshomaru moved to where Ling stood over a chocolate inu with a katana through his chest. Sesshomaru drew Bakusaiga and plunged the blade into the wounded inu and he shrieked as his flesh was slowly eaten away. He was crushed underneath the Western lord's boot as he stepped away and sheathed Bakusaiga. Ling was shaking terribly as his elder brother came near and put his arm around the younger Byakko.

“Lord Sesshomaru?” Quon called.

“Hai?” Sesshomaru said looking up.

“Asuna needs to know that Zihao was taken. Where is she?” Quon asked.

“She was in Sendai.” Sesshomaru said.

Quon bowed and he sent his brother on with Cheung. He could not think too hard or he would loose his mind. Jin had been injured badly and Quon grinned at the idea. He produced a shoki mist to port and went to the kumo stronghold. He stepped into mayhem and inu were everywhere. Quon snarled when he realized what was happening. He saw a female kumo and he had his fang drawn and began killing the Panyu inu.

“Spideress!” Quon snapped.

“What the hell?” she hissed.

“Where are your lords?” he demanded.

“Fighting off all these fucking inu!” She snarled.

“Hunan was hit as well. Where is Lady Asuna?” Quon asked.

“She was taken.” Aya said.

Quon lost his mind and shoved his claws through inu and began freezing their innards. Aya had him follow her and they moved to another part of the castle. Kumo warriors fought everywhere and Quon snarled in hatred at the Panyu.

“Lord Ishin! Lord Naraku! Move your warriors!” he yelled.

Both males called out and Quon shoved his fang into the ground and released his shoki through the ground. Those that did not move fell; their lips were blue and they were dead. Ishin moved forward and so did Naraku.

“Changsha was attacked as well. My son was kidnapped and Princess Yoshiko was killed as well as my father.” Quon said tightly.

“Zihao?” Naraku asked.

Ishin got a panicked look on his face and ran to the nursery. Quon and Naraku followed him. Asuna's personal lady laid dead and all of her younglings were gone.

“They are taking her pups.” Naraku said shaking.

“Chichi?” Mizuki called.

“Mizuki!” he cried.

She stepped out and she had Kenji. She was bleeding badly and Karu came out with her. She was in severe pain and handed Kenji to her sire.

“Father. Nobu took the others to a secret place. He said you would know. We moved as fast as we could but they got Etsuko and Katsu.” Karu said softly.

“If they attacked here and Changsha, would they go after the uppyr?” Quon asked.

“Hai, I am sure of it.” Ishin growled.

“I am taking them to the nest in the north. Call on Bihua and Aya. Get the soldiers out!” Naraku hissed.

Ishin went back to Aya and Quon was pacing. Ishin returned with armor on and he grabbed the Byakko. He pulled him into his shoki cloud and they walked into madness. Uppyr were fighting everywhere and Ishin produced his fan blade and began killing inu left and right.

“I am done with this now spider!” Quon snarled.

The Byakko lord changed form in a flourish of yoki and began roaring. His freezing shoki was released from his claws and he swiped at the inu left and right. Vlad ran down the steps and saw the spider daemon wielding a huge blade and a tiger daemon killing the dog daemons. He had a sword in hand and was taking heads off and running the dog daemons through. Jarek was in his rooms gathering up his siblings. He heard shrieking from Rina and his veins ran cold. The tiger changed back and he ran to his side.

“I am Quon. Where are your children?” he asked.

“Rina was shrieking.” He said running up the stone stair case.

Vlad watched in horror as Jarek fought to hang on to Rina. Jin ran Jarek through the heart and sliced open his throat. Rina screamed over and over and Vlad rushed the inu. Quon followed and he heard two babes screaming in the background.

“Jarek!” Vlad screamed.

“Papa! Papa!” she screamed.

“Let her go filth!” Quon snarled.

“I do not think so Byakko. Should have kept your hands off of her. Do not try your mind tricks or your baby dies!” Jin threatened.

Vlad watched as not only Asher but Judafre were taken by two dog warriors. Rina was struggling and Vlad snarled in fury and surged up. Jin ported away as well as the other two dog daemons. Vlad sat and cut his wrist and poured blood into Jarek's wounds. The younger uppyr was struggling and Vlad bit into his wrist viciously and blood continued to flood the chest wound and throat.

“Get Luca!” Vlad snarled.

Two uppyr males scrambled to do as he asked. Quon kneeled and tore his pein-fu and pressed it to the chest wound. Vlad looked at the tiger daemon and down at his eldest son.

“What is going on?” He asked calmer then he felt.

“That was Lord Jin of Panyu. He was mated to Asuna at one time. Changsha was attacked as well as Sendai in Japan. Asuna was kidnapped from the spiders. It seems the inu are gathering her offspring and they have no intention of releasing her.” Quon said in a frigid tone.

“Please open your mind to me.” Vlad said in a hoarse tone.

Quon did as the ancient uppyr male asked and Vlad began snarling worse. Another uppyr approached the fallen male and Vlad stood.

“Luca, make sure he gets better. Lord Quon please follow me.” Vlad commanded.

Quon followed and the uppyr ruler went down the stairs quickly. He saw the spider named Ishin killing off the last few dog daemons with his venom and he turned.

“We need to go to her birthplace. I feel Elizaveta as well.” Vlad said calmly.

“Lord Sesshomaru is ready to start an all out war.” Quon stated.

“Then we shall assist him.” Vlad said.

Ishin said nothing and he bowed.

“I am assuming Judafre was here?” Ishin asked.

“Da.” Vlad said.

Ishin stepped into his shoki cloud and ported to Jining. He saw Shezmu in the distance and he approached quickly.

“Shezmu-sama you need to come with me now.” Ishin said softly.

“What is wrong my friend?” Shezmu asked.

“Judafre was taken along with Asher and Rina. Asuna was taken by Lord Jin of Panyu.” Ishin said quickly.

“What?” he said stunned.

“There have been some heavy losses; we are meeting with Asuna's sire and working on retrieving them.” Ishin stated.

Shezmu ported to the Western Palace and the sight that greeted him made him almost loose his stomach. Lady Augusta was sprawled across her daughter's body sobbing. Lord Sesshomaru was trying to get her up but she was snarling and spitting at them all.

“Augusta please.” Sesshomaru said softly.

“No! Stay away from her! You will not burn my baby! I will kill you!” She said in a terrible voice.

Vlad appeared and moved to Augusta directly. He hauled her off of Yoshiko and she screamed and raged as he did so.

“No! No! Do not let them bury her please Vlad please! No, please not my baby.” She said sobbing harder.

“Elizaveta, God is calling her home. Do not deny her.” He said softly.

“No!!!” She wailed.

Sesshomaru looked away as he could not hold back the tears. Hatred filled his veins and he moved to his mate. He took her and crushed her to him and she kept crying harder. The Western lord nodded to two silver soldiers and he had to bury his nose into Augusta's hair. Youshiro and Osamu stood by silently as their baby sister was taken so she could be prepared. Ishin moved forward and pressed a claw into the base of Augusta's skull. She sagged in Sesshomaru's arms and he looked grateful.

“She is only stunned Lord Sesshomaru-sama. I am most grieved for you.” Ishin said bowing.

“Thank you.” He said with a haunted look.

“What of the North?” Ishin asked.

“Yuzuna!” Shezmu said suddenly.

Ishin ported to Sapporo and the devastation was widespread. He ran through the halls and he came upon a scene of horror. Yuuta lay dead in and Yuzuna was screaming from the center of the room.

“Baby girl. You know me. Come here.” Ishin commanded.

“Chichi! Chichi!” she kept repeating.

He scooped her up and noticed her covered in her sire's blood. Hatred filled him and he had to stifle tears. He ported back to the West and he handed Yuzuna to Shezmu and began throwing up. Shezmu began a low growl and she still wailed. Sesshomaru came into the hall and he took Yuzuna from the ancient inu.

“Chichi! Chichi!” she kept screaming.

“Get General Yuudai. Lord Ishin?” Sesshomaru asked.

“Sorry. He did not make it.” Ishin said in a low growl.

Yuudai came in and saw his sister wailing.

“My lord?” he asked.

“See to your sister. Your sire is dead.” Sesshomaru said in a lifeless tone.

“What?” Yuudai asked in disbelief.

“Hai.” Sesshomaru nodded.

Yuzuna reached for the male that so resembled her father. She began sobbing harder and crying out for her chichi.

“Now. We convene now.” Sesshomaru said in a terrible fury.

Zihao had told me of the carnage and I was shaking terribly. I could not understand the actions of Sheng and Jin. Rina had finally fallen asleep and I was in a stupor. Sheng stood in the doorway and he looked grieved.

“Why all the bloodshed?” I demanded.

“I did not ask for that. Jin has gone overboard.” He said softly.

“What do you know?” I asked terrified.

“There have been several deaths. Jin dispatched the Byakko lord himself and Yoshiko as well.” Sheng said looking guilty.

“My sister? My baby sister?” I asked tearing up.

“Hai. This is not what I wanted. I did not want this.” He said looking grieved.

“You started a war and for what? To prove a point? What point did you prove Sheng except that Panyu is evil?” I said in anguish.

“I am sorry.” He said looking away.

“Why would Jin do this?” I asked.

“The Byakko are his direct enemy and I do not know the rest.” He said looking down.

“You set loose a monster!” I said crying.

He said nothing else and left. Zihao came to me and held on tightly. I looked over at the twins, Etsuko, Katsu, and Rina. Etsuko picked up Asher and Zihao moved to pick up Judafre. They came around me and I cried quietly. Yuzuna, Mizuki, Iyo, Ayana, and Kenji had gotten away apparently. I held onto them and I wondered at the cost.

Quon's head was aching terribly and he listened to the plans of the other male youki. The heavy weight in his heart was threatening to overwhelm him. He had to return and bury his sire and he realized he was now the Lord of Hunan. He was worried over Asuna and his twins within her womb. He had Cheung retrieve Masami and his brother came to the Western Palace.

“Chichi!” she cried running in.

Lord Sesshomaru held onto her tightly and he was wrathful. He held onto her as she cried.

“Shiko bleed? Where Shiko?” she asked.

“Shush little one.” He said and he called on Ai to come get her.

Masami curled up into his lap and Yuudai walked in. Yuzuna was sleeping curled up in his arms.

“She will not allow me to put her down my lord. She starts screaming. I had Baku retrieve my sire and he was gutted terribly.” Yuudai stated with a haunted look.

“This was more than just taking Asuna. This was a move to show that Panyu has military strength. Jin does nothing he has not thought out.” Quon said suddenly.

“Then we fight back with a untied coalition. Jin will not think that we all will work together.” Ishin stated.

“Jin is crafty Lord Ishin. That I do know.” Sesshomaru stated.

He motioned for sake and all of the males partook except for Shezmu. The ancient inu was brewing and this smacked of Thebes. Old anger and hatred consumed him.

“Pardon me Lord Sesshomaru.” Shezmu said bowing.

“Hai.” The silver lord said.

Shezmu left the study and walked into the hall. He saw Lady Augusta and she was simmering in hatred.

“My lady what I can do for you?” he said softly.

“Take me to Hunan.” She said softly.

“Yes.” He said and gently took her.

They appeared in the Byakko palace and Augusta moved to Chen's room. Cheung saw her and he let her pass. She saw him lifeless and she fell upon his body and beat his chest.

“Chen!” she wailed as she grabbed at his lifeless body.

Shezmu let her cry and Cheung had to look away. His own mother had to be sedated and Meifen was not speaking at all.

“Who killed him?” Augusta snarled with crimson eyes.

“Lord Jin.” Cheung said.

Augusta looked frightful in her fury and she ported suddenly. She came upon Guangzhou and an encampment outside the city. Several inu moved forward but she moved faster then the eye could see. She snapped the neck of one inu and ripped the throat out of another. There was a shout and she looked up from her victim. She had drained a third brown inu and strangled another. Lord Jin exited a tent and he saw the Western Lady covered in blood and her mouth was covered in it as well.

“You bastard! You killed my daughter and Chen!” She snarled.

“Go home Lady Augusta!” Jin hissed.

She did not move and her eyes burned as red as the blood that stained her lips and chin. Jin moved forward intent upon subduing and he fell to the ground holding his head.

“You really think you can fuck with a pure kiang shi? You stupid fool!” she said.

She did the one thing she had not done in hundreds of years; she lifted her hand and Jin all of a sudden became immersed in flames. He screamed terribly and she began burning the encampment. She was grabbed and turned suddenly. She stared up into the eyes of Vlad and he shook her gently.

“Elizaveta! Come now!” He commanded.

“They will burn!” she snarled.

“No Elizaveta! Asuna is here somewhere. Come!” he said porting them out.

She became a wild woman; she kicked and shrieked as Vlad held her. Sesshomaru came forward and he was shocked to see her covered in blood.

“Augusta!” he said softly.

“Let me go! Let me go!” she snarled.

Ishin again moved and paralyzed her. She fell limp and Sesshomaru held onto her.

“You felt her?” Sesshomaru asked.

“She invoked her most powerful powers. I can feel it.” He sighed.

“What is that?” Ishin asked.

“She is a fire starter. Elizaveta lost her mind once before and burned Novgorod to the ground.” He said looking around.

Everyone looked shocked and the Western lady was taken back to her chambers. Sesshomaru looked at her and his heart was broken. The troops had been moved to Niigata and the kumo were advancing from Siam and Korea. He left and went back to his study.

“First we retrieve this Sesshomaru's heir then lay waste to Panyu.” He said decisively.

“I shall join you on the mainland very soon Lord Sesshomaru. I have to bury my ba.” Quon said standing.

“I am sorry for your loss Lord Quon.” Sesshomaru said with a bowed head.

Quon ported to Hunan and put his head to a pillar and was wracked by sobs. He quickly recovered himself and went to his sire's room. His mother was by his side and she stared out into nothingness.

“Mama, we have to bury him.” Quon said.

“I know.” She said in a whisper.

“Mama, come please.” Quon asked.

“Yes my lord.” She said standing.

His mother kept her head down and he was worried that she would take her life. It was not unheard of and he intended to guard her. Cheung followed him and fell in step beside him.

“Lady Augusta was here.” He said under his breath.

“She set the Panyu encampment burning. Where is Ling?” he asked softly.

“He is in his rooms. He will not come out.” Cheung said.

“He loved her.” Quon said bluntly.

“Yes. He said he would wait till she came of age and touch no other.” Cheung said sadly.

“Jin will die by my hand.” Quon said in a growl.

“Yes my lord.” Cheung said bowing.

Quon was getting angrier and angrier as the time passed. He did his duty to his sire and waited for the mates of his beloved.

Naraku was in the Guangzhou palace and he was closing in on Asuna. The rumors were that Jin had been burned terribly and Augusta had to be kept sedated. He saw his mate and he saw the pups. He moved with stealth and grabbed her.

I turned and saw Naraku and my eyes widened.

“Take us out of here!” I cried.

“Pups! Now.” He commanded.

My little ones gathered and we were pulled into the miasma. I felt huge relief and I grabbed Naraku tightly as I hugged him.

“Asuna the toll has been heavy my love.” He said softly.

“What are you telling me my love?” I asked.

“Yuuta is dead Asuna.” He said calmly.

He had to hold me up and I nodded no. Guilt wracked me and I fled from Naraku. I ported to the West and the house Yuu family shrine. I saw his name on a marker and I began beating at the kanji. I went in search of Yuudai and found him in the family castle. He looked up at me and Yuzuna cried when she saw me. I grabbed her and began sobbing. Yuudai wrapped his arms around us both and I finally calmed myself.

“When I have mourned my sister and your sire; we crush Panyu.” I said with a hate filled voice.

“As you command chuusin. Yuzuna my love come with me.” Yuudai said softly.

“Kay.” She mumbled.

“Haha loves you my dearest.” I said in a low tone.

“Shiko dead.” She said wiping her eyes.

I nodded and looked away. I ported to my sire's study and I went to my knee. He came out from his desk and pulled me up into a hug.

“I am so sorry. Father, I am so sorry!” I said crying.

“Panyu will be crushed and soon. Our little diversion worked I see.” He said with a cruel look on his face.

“Diversion?” I asked.

“Hunan has been destroying their posts in Wu.” He said in a growl.

I nodded and I had to wipe away my tears.

“Your mother is not herself.” He commented.

“She was loyal unto you since Masami but Chen had binded them my lord. The void is horrid to feel and Yoshiko.” I said fighting back complete fury.

“Your uppyr tried to explain. I know not how to help her.” He said looking away.

“Time my lord.” I said shaking.

“Lord Quon is near the fronts. The tiger is an extraordinary individual.” He stated.

“Hai.” I said softly.

I turned and walked out. I opened my mind to Ishin and Naraku; the relief and love washed through me and I pathed my intentions. I ported to Quon and the Byakko soldiers went to their knees. Quon grabbed me and hugged me tightly. My eyes were flooded and he felt my hands.

“You need to go to the healer. You need to start taking in the draughts again.” He said brushing my hair off my forehead.

“I am sorry about your ba.” I said in a low tone.

“He died with honor and saving our sister.” He said with pride in his voice.

I pressed my forehead to his and he reached up to hold my face.

“Zihao is well. He is with his brothers and sisters right now.” I said softly.

“Good.” He said closing his eyes.

“Do not leave me.” I said hoarsely.

“I will not beloved. Go to the healer and visit with your mates. They are a unique and honorable.” He said softly.

“I will be back my beloved.” I said sadly.

“I know.” He said meeting my eyes.

He kissed me deeply and I stepped back. I ported to Gifu trying to find Nobu. I hit a wall with my fist and laid my head against my arm as I sobbed. I felt comforting hands on my shoulders and I turned. Nobu held my face with his hands in sympathy and then wrapped his arms around me tightly. I cried into his navy haori as he stroked my hair.

“My lady.” He whispered softly.

“Nobu.” I cried.

He tipped my head back and made me look at him. He was just a bit taller then I and he searched my face.

“You are safe.” He said gently.

“You kept them safe.” I said in an emotional tone.

“I did my best. Mizuki was injured when she killed several inu but she is fine now.” He said running his thumbs along my cheeks.

I closed my eyes as he reached his hand and cradled my head. He began massaging the base of my neck and I moaned softly.

“You did not cause this. Stop thinking that; the Lord of Panyu took advantage of Lord Sheng's desires.” Nobu said.

“Tell that to my sister, Yuuta, and Lord Chen!” I cried.

“Lord Yuuta died protecting your daughter from being kidnapped. Lord Chen saved you sister and your sister saved Prince Ling. There was much bravery going on.” He said softly.

“Dead is dead Nobu. Even as talented as you are there is no changing that.” I said in anger.

“My lady.” He stated as he pressed his forehead to mine.

I sighed and he wrapped his arms around me tightly. Anguish was tearing me up and I let loose a torrent of tears as my heart felt heavy. Nobu led me to the futon and handed me the anti-shoki so that I would continue to be inoculated against the Byakko shoki. I drained the vial and handed it back. I met his eyes but he was staying in his healer mode at the moment. He was moving around making mint tea and I watched him. He brought over the tea and I accepted it. I sipped at it but set it aside. I moved over to him and pulled him into a kiss. I was hurting and I needed to feel something besides the anger and hate. He lost his healer persona quickly and became Nobu, my lover. I squeezed my eyes shut as our lips melded against the other in the passionate dance. I undid his ebony tresses and accepted all he offered.

Meifen was full of awful hatred; it was twisting in her gut and making her normally sweet disposition wrathful. She had to stop herself as she had lashed out at a servant. The rumors were that the Western Lady had decimated the Panyu encampment. She stepped through her shoki mist and was in the Western Lands of Honshu. There were inu everywhere and she bowed low.

“Can we help you?” A golden inu asked.

“Your lady, I must see your lady.” Meifen said in a toneless voice.

“She has been kept sedated but we can take you to her.” The golden said.

Meifen nodded and the inu lead her through the massive halls of the Western palace. She was lead into a huge spacious private sleeping chamber and saw the Western Lady sprawled across the futon.

“Please leave us.” Meifen begged.

“Hai.” The golden said.

Meifen sank to her knees and leaned over the kiang shi female.

“Augusta! Wake up! I need you.” She cried softly in her ear.

Augusta's eyes fluttered open and she saw Meifen over her. The pain was horrid and her eyes bled red.

“Meifen?” Augusta asked.

“Yes. Let me take you from here so that we may speak.” The tigress begged.

“Hai.” Augusta nodded.

Meifen looked around and she produced a shoki mist and pulled the Western lady with her. They were in a peaceful countryside by a small river. Augusta looked around and then at the tigress. Meifen did not think and pulled the uppyr into a hug. The Western lady broke down and sobbed into the tigress's hanfu.

“Help me avenge our mate and your daughter. Those bastards took from us both. Ling tried to kill himself; he is completely withdrawn and our Chen.” Meifen said shaking.

“Hai.” Augusta sobbed.

Meifen made Augusta look up at her and both of their faces were drenched in tears.

“He loved you so much. You gave me back my boy and I will take what was his.” Meifen said fiercely.

“Meifen what do you mean?” Augusta asked confused.

The Lady of Hunan pressed her lips softly to Augusta's in a soft caress. It was only meant as comfort but Augusta growled fiercely. Her anger and hatred fueled her and she boldly explored Meifen's mouth with her own. The clutched at the other for a moment and Augusta pulled back.

“Let me take in your blood.” Augusta asked.

Meifen turned her head and Augusta hungrily sank her fangs into the tigress's flawless neck. She crushed Meifen to her as she took in her life essence. She made the experience pure bliss and the feline female shook against her and began crying out. Augusta did not stop but continued her assault of her senses. Meifen began moaning out incoherently. Augusta pulled back from her neck but did not let up on the sensations.

“You wish to be my lover Meifen?” Augusta asked hoarsely.

“Yes.” She cried.

Augusta ripped at the back of her hanfu and found the base of her tail. The tigress lost it completely as the kiang shi began massaging her tender spot and made her walls stretched and full. Augusta held her jaw with her free hand and brutally kissed the tigress. Meifen's screams of release were swallowed by Augusta's possession. Slowly Augusta pulled back and sat on her backside.

“Is that what you did to Chen?” Meifen asked catching her breath.

“Hai.” She nodded.

“Help me.” Meifen begged.

“Hai.” Augusta said simply.

The Western Lady grabbed the Hunan lady's hand and ported them to Panyu. There was more than Jin at this point but the movement would suffer a blow. Augusta moved quickly and pulled along her apparent lover. They came upon Jin in his rooms recovering from his burns. He was sleeping and the kiang shi female had masked herself and Meifen. Augusta moved so quickly that she grabbed Jin's throat. He woke up with a start and his eyes widened. She was cutting off his breathing and he could not cry out.

“You really pissed off the wrong onna you self involved son of whore!” she hissed.

Meifen came over and shoved her curved feline claw s into the Panyu lord and released a huge amount of Byakko shoki. Augusta ported all three to Hunan and in the middle of the court.

“Lord Quon Hu!” Augusta yelled as he saw his mother and mother in law standing with the Panyu lord.

“All of you watch as Chen's killer is punished. Watch as this bastard dies a bastard's death!” Augusta snarled.

Meifen watched with a gleam in her eyes and her son ran from his den. He watched as Augusta shoved her claws into Jin's chest and his mother held him firmly with her own claws digging into his neck.

“You will see yourself die bastard. It takes almost a half minute before you fully die after I rip out your heart. This is for killing my baby girl and Chen!” Augusta hissed.

Augusta hesitated for a moment and wrapped her claws around his beating heart. Jin looked defiant and she sneered. She ripped the organ from his chest and shoved him back. The mighty Panyu lord fell to his knees and then down. Quon looked astonished at the cruelty displayed by his mother in law. She held his heart in her hand and she watched it intensely and it burned up in her hand. Meifen looked hatefully at the body and pulled Augusta along.

“Send it back to Panyu.” Meifen hissed.

Soldiers came forward and Quon followed after the two females. He turned his mother around and she looked frightful in her hatred.

“We have been trying to get in for weeks!” He said in shock.

“He is dead now finish them off my son.” Meifen said coldly.

“Lady Augusta?” Quon asked softly.

“Yoshiko's killer as well as Chen's killer has been brought to justice. I imagine there will be all out war now Quon. I am tired as well as your mother. I am going home now. Meifen do you wish to join me?” Augusta asked.

“Yes. I shall return soon Quon. See to Lihua and the others. I will see to it that they are mated off to your uncles.” Meifen said softly.

“As you wish mama.” Quon said nodding.

Augusta ported Meifen and herself to the West. She was filthy and covered in gore. Sesshomaru came out of their chambers and he looked astonished.

“Lady Meifen?” he asked surprised.

“Hai Sesshomaru. Jin is dead.” Augusta stated.

“How?” he asked shocked.

“I ripped his heart out and set it afire. Meifen injected him with her freezing shoki. Now I wish for the hot spring and you inside of me.” Augusta said bluntly.

“Augusta!” he said scandalized.

“I was mated to Chen Lord Sesshomaru. Things that went on in our life would shock your poor inu senses.” Meifen said smiling gently.

Augusta dragged her mate along and he was in shock at her behavior. Meifen followed and she was satisfied at the moment.

“Augusta what are you planning?” he asked in a low voice.

“To wear out the great Lord Sesshomaru.” She said bluntly.

Augusta looked over at the tigress and racy thoughts went through her mind. Sesshomaru would be resistant but she would get her way. She needed to feel at the moment and she would experience her greatest love. She reached up and pulled him down in a searing kiss and he was again shocked. He ripped his lips from hers and he lifted her chin.

“Augusta what are you doing?” he asked.

“Making you moan. You have never had two onna at once have you?” She asked in his ear.

“What?” he said with widened eyes.

“Hai.” She said undoing his haori.

“Mate this is irregular.” He said hoarsely as she began working his member.

“I hurt Sesshomaru. I hurt so badly right now.” She said as tears began to fall.

His mind could not fathom what she was suggesting but her eyes held such anguish and he could not deny her after their loss. He turned and Meifen was leaning against the wall saying nothing.

“Meifen, my mate is a most incredible lover.” Augusta said as her eyes flashed.

“I imagine. His prowess on the battle field is renowned. I can only think that he uses his skill in other ways as well.” She said softly.

“Again this is irregular.” He said in a hoarser tone as Augusta began applying her kinetic yoki.

“You are the lord here Sesshomaru. You are like our eldest daughter and can do whatever you like. I want to see you wither under us and beg for us to take you. Meifen?” Augusta called.

The tigress slunk closer with the grace of her feline nature and appeared next to the Western lady. Meifen gently turned Augusta's head and began to kiss her deeply. Sesshomaru could not believe the sight made his blood boil with desire. The tigress brushed his member through his hakama as she possessed his mate. His eyes were slowly changing and his rational mind shut down. Meifen released Augusta and his mate pulled him backwards towards their futon. Augusta stripped herself and him rather quickly and she pushed him down. Meifen waited and her body was humming with raging lust. She had not done anything like this in a long while. She missed Chen terribly but she intended to live. Augusta began kissing him and she motioned for Meifen. The tigress had become well versed in what the kiang shi female had done to her mate. She looked at his toned and lithe body and purred in appreciation. She proceeded to plunge his member into her mouth and he about came off the futon. The forbidden passion consumed them all.

I was reading the letter that Quon had sent and I was shocked. I ported to the Western palace and went in search of my mother. I went to my sire's study and he looked up.

“Mother killed Jin?” I asked.

“Hai apparently Lady Meifen and her snuck into Panyu. Sheng it seems is beyond incensed and Panyu has been given to him. Complete war is on the horizon.” He said sipping some tea.

“Well then we shall crush him.” I said unemotionally.

He nodded and I turned to leave.

“Quon said Meifen was here.” I said softly.

My sire blushed a little and I narrowed my eyes. He said nothing and I did not press it. I went into my mother's study and she smiled a little. Meifen was on a chaise reading some literature. She looked up and smiled.

“Hello Asuna.” She said softly.

“I am glad you killed him but I wish you waited for me.” I said.

“I am sorry for that. I did rip his heart from his chest.” She said meeting my eyes.

“Good!” I said in a fierce tone.

I bowed before both and Meifen cleared her throat.

“You are now the first lady of Hunan Asuna.” She said.

“No Meifen that is your distinction.” I said bowing low.

She smiled and I slipped away. I walked down the halls and regret washed through me. This was so far from what I wanted and I wished to escape for a little while.

“You still have issues in the past.” Tamiko said from my side.

“Jouichi.” I breathed.

“Hai. Go on my girl.” She said pointing to the portal.

I lifted my head and walked through. I hoped for peace but I knew it probably would not happen.

I was in the forests surrounding the Southern Tsuchigumo kingdom and it was quiet. I moved towards the palace and I stiffened when I felt a distinct aura but he was too far from home. I turned and saw a giant silver inu. I masked myself quickly and pressed myself against a tree. I watched him scent the air as he had scented me then did not. He moved closer and I darted away from the tree and he ran after me. He grabbed me with his jaws and I dangled much undignified from his mouth. I felt like a wayward pup and I began growling.

“Let me down!” I snarled.

He growled back and I growled louder. He gently put me down and began snorting as he scented me all over. I grew irritated and swiped at his nose with my claws.

“Stop it!” I snapped.

He slowly changed form and my grandsire stood before me as a very young male. He walked around me and I growled at him.

“What is an inu female doing in kumo territory?” he asked.

“What is the Prince of the West doing in kumo lands?” I retorted.

“Touché onna. Who are you?” he asked.

“None of your business.” I said raising a brow.

“You carry a blade and you are pregnant. Where is your mate?” he demanded.

“That too is none of your business.” I said looking him straight in the eyes.

I sensed Jouichi and I turned to see him emerge from the trees.

“Jouichi!” I stated elated.

“What is wrong? Why are you feeling that way?” he asked as he neared.

“Onna!” Touga snapped.

“Oh shut up Touga. Go back to hunting and look me up in a couple of centuries.” I snapped.

“How dare you speak to me as such!” He snapped back.

“Inu you have wandered into my lands. You may leave now.” Jouichi snapped.

Touga left but eyed me the whole time.

“Jouichi, I lost our daughter.” I said looking down.

“What happened?” he asked in a pained voice.

“Nobu says she quit growing but my yoki has been changing and I think that maybe I took from her.” I said as tears slipped from my eyes.

“You cannot blame yourself. How is your yoki changing?” he asked softly nearing me.

“Watch.” I said.

I flung my arm and the supaida nami was released the trees and shrubs did not fare well. Jouichi's eyes widened in shock and I looked at him.

“There are those within the kingdom that swear it is your mother's yoki.” I said meeting his eyes.

“Yours does mimic hers.” He admitted.

“I see.” I said looking down.

“Our girl?” he asked softly lifting my chin.

“I named her Sakina. She is near her ancestors and I begged your forgiveness.” I stated sadly.

“Lovely name. Your body was not ready to have her.” He said breathing deeply.

I felt dreadful anguish rip through me and I began sobbing. He pulled me into his arms and held on tightly. He lifted my chin and pressed his lips to my forehead.

“Jouichi, it has gone all wrong!” I said grabbing at his haori.

“What do you mean?” he asked gently.

I held his head and pressed my forehead to his and I showed him in ghostly images of all that had gone on. His eyes widened as he absorbed my memories. I turned and I saw Mizuki. She was crying and torn up.

“Zuki what are you doing here?” I asked shocked.

“Tamiko sent me. You have to do something about Karu! Haha I will kill him!” She snarled.

Jouichi's eyes were following Mizuki as she paced. She was fifteen and stunning. She was almost as tall as she would be as an adult.

“What happened?” I asked sighing.

“Who are you?” she asked Jouichi.

“I am Lord Jouichi and who are you?” he asked amused.

“I am Lady Mizuki.” She said lifting her chin.

“You were speaking to me Zuki! You do realize that you are in a past era.” I stated firmly.

“Hai haha. Karu and I were injured in the attack but he will not leave me alone. He will not give my time to me. He is making me furious and Uncle Ishin will not do anything!” she snapped.

“Ishin has been a little busy fighting Panyu.” I said looking down.

“Haha Kazuo has not been there for awhile now.” She said sadly.

“He is still my son and your brother!” I hissed.

“Kenji, Zihao, Jouichi, Katsu, Judafre, Asher, and Ang Chi are my brothers! Kazuo is a bully and self involved ass!” she said with narrowed mahogany eyes.

“Enough! I will hear no more!” I snapped.

“Sorry haha but he tells you that he hates you then his chichi takes you away and Aunt Yoshiko is dead and so is Sir Yuuta.” She said wiping tears.

“Enough now! I know the situation.” I said wiping tears away.

“Young lady perhaps you should go home?” Jouichi asked.

“Who the hell are you?” she demanded.

“Mizuki!” I snapped.

“I am Lord Gaku Jouichi.” He answered.

“Okay so your Uncle Ishin's sire and my chichi's sire in his previous life.” She said thoughtfully.

“Hai I think.” Jouichi said smirking.

There were a few guards coming forward and they stared openly at Mizuki. I began growling and they looked away. She pouted and I wanted to hit her at the moment.

“I will deal with him when I get back do you understand?” I said angrily.

“Okay.” She sighed. She followed me and had no intentions of leaving it seemed.

“My daughter is a little annoying.” I said growling.

“I heard that haha!” She snapped.

“I intended you to.” I said glaring at her.

“She is charming!” Jouichi said smiling.

She kept her mouth shut and I wanted to throttle her. Apparently things with Karu were not better and in fact worse. I spent some time speaking with Jouichi in general. I promised to be back as I had many questions about his mother. Mizuki and I returned to the present; I sent her back to her rooms and I went to find my step son.

“Karu! Come with me!” I commanded.

“Hai.” He said sighing.

I brought him with me to the great hall and made him sit. I noticed new tatami mats had been placed down and the scent was a comforting one. Karu stared at me as if I had grown two or three extra heads.

“You cannot keep acting the way you are around Mizuki. She is as your sister and I know you know what I mean.” I said in a frigid tone.

“She was my intended at one time.” He said in anger.

“That was many years ago now and your sire and I are mated.” I said flatly.

“She and I are not blood. It would not be wrong and you are right; I love her. I have loved the hard headed bitch most of her life!” He snapped.

“Karu! She is meant to be at your side as your sister!” I said in irritation.

“I call you mother because you in a way are but you are not my blood and neither is she!” He said crossing his arms.

“Karu, your sire will not support this!” I said in exasperation.

“You are mated to the tiger and you two share a sister! How is that any weirder?” He demanded.

“Quon and I were together before his sire and my mother had a love affair. They are the ones that made the situation odd.” I explained.

“Then why can I not have her as my mate? We are not blood related! It is odd I know but I love her and I swear I will kill the Yosei!” he growled.

“You are not old enough to be mated and you will not kill the Yosei. Mizuki I am sure thinks of you as a sibling.” I said.

“I am done talking. She is a kumo wench! I am a funnel and I should have the strongest female by my side!” He said as he stormed out.

I was struck at how much Karu was like Ishin. My mate walked and raised a brow at me concerning his son. I sighed and sat down.

“He is insisting that Mizuki and he can be mated when they are older.” I said sighing.

“They are not blood Asuna.” He said sitting.

“Naraku would go insane and you know it!” I said meeting his eyes.

“I know that. He was always drawn to her; even when I took her. She was such an adorable thing and followed him around as if he was a little kami. She is growing up and I think he cannot handle it.” Ishin stated.

“What are we going to do Ishin?” I asked.

“Fight your old mate.” He said standing.

I nodded and he took my arm. He put his hand to my belly and smiled. I too smiled and we walked through the castle.
