“YOU BASTARD!”

Sango was stomping her way down the long white hospital hall, not even caring about the other patients or the strange looks she was receiving from the personnel. Miroku was not that far behind, trying all his might to hold back the shouting girl.

“Please Sango, not here! You're going to get us kicked out!” he insisted, reaching for her wrist. The girl glowered at him and wretched her hand back, pulling herself from her friends grip. She might be petite, but she definitely had fierceness to her. Miroku knew that with all her kicking and punching from trying to hold her off, he was definitely going to be feeling it in the morning.

“Now Sango…” he tried again, attempting to calm the beauty down a little.

But the girl was in no mood to just give up, she wanted blood.

Miroku looked across the hall at the hanyou that sat leisurely against a wall. He wasn't responding to Sango's shouts, which wasn't really helping the situation any, but he did look slightly annoyed.

“SHUT UP MIROKU!” She hissed back at him, her words dripping with poison.

Sango shoved past the monk, and stomped over to where other boy stood.

“What is your problem, demon?!” she shouted, standing directly in front of him. The boy with silver hair clenched his jaw, and turned the cold shoulder to her. Furious and insulted, Sango reached up to pull him back to face her. She noticed that he had received several stitches across from his forehead. She choose to ignore it, since it was nothing compared to Kagome's injuries.

“What the HELL is YOUR problem, wench?!” he growled lowly, baring his fanged teeth at her. Sango's fingers itched for her katana, but knew it wasn't there. “You don't even know what happened!” he hissed.

Sango's brown eyes focused on his. “I know my friend is in the ICU and her little brother keeps screaming out for her!” she all but shouted, forcing him back into the wall with her arms. The hanyou pushed against her, actually surprised by how strong the human woman had been. Sango instantly drew back her fist, aiming straight for the demons perfect face.

And to Sango's great surprise, her fist couldn't even make a connection. Her hand was caught in one swift motion. The dark haired girl couldn't even hide her shock, and was taken back by the boy's speed. Whoa…

Sango's and even Miroku's (who thought it was wise to remain out of the little squabble) eyes widened. They starred wide-eyed at the guy before them.

The silver haired boy rolled his eyes at the two, and tossed Sango's fist out of his path.

“Look bitch, it was an accident.” He said, standing. Astonished at his arrogance, Sango seethed with a new found anger. Almost as a challenge, she moved her feet quickly and stepped right back in the boys path, and got right into his face.

The boy's aura flared, with what, she wasn't sure.

“Sang—”

“I said, SHUT UP Miroku!” Sango spat at the boy behind her, still staring the hanyou down. “Now listen to me, you bastard! You could have killed Kagome and Shippo!”

The hanyou just rolled his eyes, and scoffed. “Don't you think I know that?!” he spat at her, his cheeks reddening from the heated conversation.

“Don't you think that torments me…?!” he growled to her, then to Miroku. “I NEVER wanted this…”

“Do you honestly think that is enough?!” Sango spat her words at him, crossing her arms over her chest. Neither of them was paying any mind to the hospital cliental, who were all but gawking at the arguing duo. Miroku bow his head slightly and raised his hand to disguise his eyes; he didn't want to be a part of this little shindig, all though he would wait till he could get the hanyou alone before he let his opinions go.

Sango was much more up front when she was angry.

“What am I supposed to say to that, bitch?” The silver haired man growled, trying to walk forcefully passed Sango. Miroku watched another angry expression cross her face, and rolled his eyes. `It's so hard to get through to that girl…' he thought, shaking his head.

“YOU'RE AN A IGNORANT FOOL!” Sango boomed, launching another fist in the boys direction. He caught it…again.

“…and I care why?”

“HAVE YOU EVEN APOLOGIZED YET?!!”

The demon stopped, biting his lip. His eyes darkened slightly, and finally broke eye contact between the two of them. Was it regret on his face? Sango's stature faulted momentarily, and looked as if she almost felt sorry for him. In that split second, he honestly looked a little sorry. Her sympathy passed, and continued giving him the glare of death. Now she had no intention of giving up, but pulled her fist out of his grasp anyways... He growled loudly, and turned on his heal.

“Keh, whatever wench. I'll do what I want. I'll pay for anything her and her family needs, and whatever that other man in his car needs as well.” He looked down at Sango, and she met her own definite eyes with his. “…it's the least I can do.”

Sango opened her mouth for a reply, but couldn't find the words. The hanyou took that moment as an opening to leave, and with that he was gone. He treaded down the hospital hallway, nearly running into a nurse holding a clip board. Sango stood there, looking a bit dumbfounded until Miroku finally felt that it was safe enough to stand by her side.

“Hmm, I think you actually got to him…” He stated bluntly, hand stroking his chin in thought. The stubborn girl glanced up at him.

“Yeah… I sort' a think I did too…” She said slowly, brown eyes blinking as she uncrossed her arms. “I think I saw sadness cross over his face...” Sango paused, thinking.

Shaking her head, the angry flame was lit again. “Whatever, he's just a stupid demon.”

Miroku corked his brow at her, and shrugged. But his face immediately became serious.

“Come on, let's go try and wake that girl up.” He said, tilting his head in the direction of their friends hospital room. Sango nodded immediately, an unreadable expression masked her true emotions.

“…Kagome?”
A small, soft and velveteen voice was calling to her…but she didn't want to come. This place, wherever it was, was nice. It was quiet, and peaceful. But most of all, it was warm.
It was like she was in bath water, her skin was hot and her eyes were heavy. But it wasn't the bad kind, it was the pleasant kind. `Like,' she thought happily to herself, `taking a bath on a warm summer's day.'
“…Kagome?” The voice called to her again, louder this time.
Kagome's brow furrowed in displeasure; who was trying to wake her? Couldn't they see how happy she was? Frustrated, she opened her mouth to give them a peace of her mind.
“No.” she mumbled, turning away from the voice.
“Come on Kagome, wake up…” it urged, sounded more pained. Kagome's eyes fluttered. She knew that voice! It was so familiar, so welcoming…. she loved that voice.
“S-Sango…” she whispered, something washing over her whole body. No matter how much she loved this black abyss, no matter how much she loved it's warmth…she loved this voice more.
All at once, her body began to wake. Her mind was pulled from its dark haven, and her entire being felt pained. When her eyes began to flutter open, it was like she was passing through a wave of razorblades.
Light filtered through the dark; bright, outstanding light. It blinded her at first. It hurt her eyes. But she wanted it. She wanted it to engulf her, and allowed it to.
“KAGOME!” Sango gasped out, practically jumping on the hospital bed to hug her friend.
Kagome gasped, eyes widening in surprise when she felt her friends arms around her. Where was she? She blinked back some tears, even though she had no idea where they came from. There was so much white around her, and the sunlight of early morning was reflecting brightly off of the color.
“Sango…can you…please…” she stumbled, her body aching from the weight of her friend.
Sango's eyes widened slightly, and she quickly removed herself. “I-I'm so sorry!” she mumbled, tucking a stray hair behind her ear. “How do you feel?”
“You've been unconscious for over 3 days now… we were really worried.” Miroku announced, causing Kagome to turn her head in his direction. She hadn't even known he was here…
“I feel…like crap.” Kagome said, lifting her hand to rub her eyes. She was stopped but a small pain in her wrist, and was quite surprised to see a IV stick out of it. `Stupid thing' she thought, sighing and letting her hand fall to the bed.
“Tell me what happened.” She whispered since her voice was still hoarse, probably from not talking in 3 days. Sango and Miroku looked at each other.
“Well, from what InuYasha's statement said… it was entirely his fault.” Sango started, choosing her words carefully.

Kagome's mind flashed her back to the incident. “Damn right!” she hissed, eyes closed.

“-and, he took responsibility for everything. He's paying all the damage and hospital bills.” Miroku chimed in, folding his arms across his chest. Kagome noticed he was in his black shirt with the purple Buddha. She rolled her eyes, `Does that boy ever change his clothes?'

But then her friend's words finally registered in her mind. “He's paying for everything??” she asked, repeating what Miroku had just said to her. The monk nodded.

Kagome rubbed her temples again. “Ugh, so I guess you should just explain EVERYTHING to me…” she grumbled, lifting her head from her pillow. Sango pulled one of the seats from the wall, and moved closer to her friend.

“Okay, so this is what we know…” Sango began her story, explaining to Kagome what the police had told them, what Mrs. Higurashi had said, and Sango's little run in with InuYasha Taisho, the boy that hit her, at the hospital.

Kagome sat patiently, absorbing as much information as she possibly could. Even now and again, something her friends would say to her would stick, and she would have a small flash back of the past events. She could remember the car accident, but it was sort of a blur for her.

But what she didn't remember was what Sango had said that the police wrote in the report.

“Apparently you collapsed, and Dog-Breath carried you half way down the road until the ambulance came.” She tapped her chin in thought. “You know, it's still so strange to me how fast Demons are. I guess the hanyou put up a pretty good fight to just get you to the hospital.”

Miroku cut in, “He would have been able to get you there faster than the ambulance would have been able to get you loaded up.” The monk shrugged. “But the police won.”

Kagome blinked. “Wow.”

Sango stubbornly stuck her nose in the air. “Well I don't care what he did,” she said, tucking her hair behind her right ear. “I still gave him a piece of my mind.”

Kagome shook her head, rubbing some sore spots on her neck. “Wow.” She said, her eyes taking her somewhere else. “That was not what I was expecting.

`This would be a lot easier if he was heartless…'

“How's Shippo, and my mother? How about Souta??!” she asked immediately, suddenly reminded about them.

Miroku gave her a crooked smile. “You're barrier saved Shippo, Kagome.” He said, his words calm and smooth, almost praising her abilities. Kagome blushed, but couldn't hide the smile on her face.

“Good.” Was all she said.

“Your mom and little brother are doing well, but your mother was a little freaked at first.” Sango told her, emphasizing her points. She pointed to the phone, “You really should give her a call, she'll be ecstatic.”

Kagome beamed. “I will!”

Kagome was laughing so hard that she practically fell off her bed. Sango was grinning ear to ear, crossed legged at the end of the soft hospital mattress. She had just finished filling Kag in on the day's events at school.

“I can't believe you!” she giggled, clutching her pillow. The girl could see her friend now; stalking the boy they now re-named “Dog-Breath”. Apparently, no matter how many times he said he was sorry, Sango was relentless. According to Miroku, he had given up on fighting her and InuYasha gave up trying to argue. He just stood there and took it.

She burst out into a fit of laughter again, imaging the Perv trying to hold her feisty friend back all those times. “Now don't be too hard on him!” Kagome warned, feeling a little sorry for the guy…even though she probably shouldn't.

Sango's sly grin deepened even further. “It was a sight to be seen, that much I can say.”

Kagome's fell back into her bed, giggling. The raven-haired girl hadn't really suffered that bad of injuries… maybe it was because of her weird miko heritage? Sango looked at her from the corner of her eye. She couldn't help but smile when she was with her bubbly friend; there was just something about her presence.

Then a thought struck her; the look on that guys face—what was his name again? InuYasha? Well what ever his name was… she still couldn't shake that stare that had glazed over his eyes every time she screamed at him. It made her feel a little guilty, because she honestly could tell by the look on his face that what he did was torturing him. The dark haired girl paused her thoughts to roll her eyes at the rambling girl next to her.

“--And oh, I could have killed him!” Kagome finished, her hands clutching her pillow.

“Kagome… about Dog-Breath…” Sango started, sitting up slightly in her seat. Kagome huffed and threw her arms into the air.

“Were you even listening? I was JUST talking about him!”

“Oh…ah, sorry!” Sango insisted, sweat-dropping. She scratched her head nervously, and began to explain herself. “Look, its just the last couple times I was screaming at the guy…” the girl paused, making sure she had friends attention. Kagome quirked an eyebrow and nodded, urging her on.

“Well like I said, when I was screaming at him… something made me feel like he was sort of miserable about the whole situation.”

Kagome stared blankly at her.

“Sango, he didn't even send flowers.”

So I decided to make this into a shorter chapter, and make it one whole thing about the hospital.

^.^ All done!
