A\N: Hey! Sorry I took so long but I'm moving and I've been busy. Well I'm here with my new story I Loved Him First. Now, you might think it's not much of a title but the fact that it's so simple makes it genius! But it really is a great story. Plus this is the first story I'm writing in first person. It's mostly from Kagome's point of view but Inuyasha has his point of view in some cases. This is probably my favorite story because I've come up with so much for it. I hope you wuv it as much as I do! CHARGE!!!!!
Chapter 1: Back to School
Stupid alarm clock, I thought as I hit the snooze button. The noise stopped and before I had the chance to rest my head back down…the door swung open, and I felt a heavy weight pounce on me.
“Get up!” it exclaimed as it started to jump up and down on my bed. I pulled my blanket over my head.
“Souta, get off my bed,” I grumbled into my pillow.
“Not until you wake up. Mom told me to wake you up.”
“Well, mission accomplished now get off!”
“You can't make me! You can't make me!” he taunted. I lifted my blanket and spotted his ankle about three inches away. So, I scooted closer opened my mouth and bit down.
“Ow!” he yelped and jumped off my bed. “That's disgusting!”
“Ugh, you're telling me? There's a new invention called soap and water. Try it.”
He stuck his tongue out at me. I did the same, “Now get out. I have to get dressed.”
He ran out of my room. Finally, some privacy.
“Kagome! Sango's here!” Never mind.
I heard someone come up the stairs then suddenly, the door opened. “Hola!” She greeted.
I gave her a hug; “It's great to see you again Sango!”
“Likewise,” she punched me in the arm.
“Hey! What was that for?”
“Um how about, no calls, e-mail, texts, nothing! God, I was starting to wonder if you were still alive!”
I had been in America the entire summer. I had only gotten back about a day ago. I guess I kinda lost touch with my friends. And if I know my friends, I'm never going to hear the end of it.
I headed towards my closet to look for something to wear. “Sorry Sango. I was really busy in America,” I lied.
“Did you do any sight seeing?”
“Well we went to the Grand Canyon, Mount—,”
“Yeah, yeah, big hole, dead presidents' heads on a mountain. I was talking about the boys!”
Sango was totally boy crazy. But I've learned to deal with it. I continued to look through my closet throwing blouses, skirts, jeans behind me, “I have nothing to wear!”
“I'll help with that!” Sango went into my closet and threw me a bunch a clothes and told me to put them on. I had on a white skirt with a black top that had Royal Pain written in gold on it with black flip-flops. Cute! I thought. I looked back down at the writing, and appropriate.
“Ta da!”
“Sango…you're a genius! I knew there was a reason why I keep you around!”
“Um, thank you?”
“No, thank you!” I looked at my alarm clock, “Shit! We gotta go!” I grabbed her wrist and my backpack and ran down the stairs. I was just about to head out the door when…
“Kagome!” My mom called.
I turned slowly, “Yes, mother dearest?”
“Take Kikyo with you.”
No, not her. “But mom!”
“No buts Kagome. It's her first day at a new school. You can't leave her.”
“I can try,” I mumbled.
“What was that?”
“Nothing!”
“Please Kagome just take her with you. It'll be a great time for you two to bond.”
“We bonded all summer.” I moaned.
“Kagome Higurashi!”
“Okay. She can come with us.”
“Thank you. Now I'll go get her.”
“Please, take all the time you need.” My mother shot me a glare before heading up the stairs.
“Whose Kikyo?” Sango questioned.
“Remember how I told you about that guy my mom was seeing?”
“Yeah.”
“Well mom fell head over heels for him and they got married in America. And now I'm stuck with her,” I pointed at Kikyo coming down the stairs. She was wearing a white mini skirt with a pink halter, pink high heels, and sunglasses on her head. Of course. Kikyo was probably the girliest person I have ever and will ever meet. Her favorite color is pink, she spends half the morning doing her make-up, which there is point in doing because she does it again half an hour later, and she threw a tantrum because she broke a nail. She a self-absorbed, self-centered, spoiled brat!
“That's her?” Sango asked.
“Unfortunately,” I answered.
“Well she doesn't look that bad.”
“Looks can be deceiving.”
“Maybe you're just not being patient enough with her.”
“Sango, she took my mom's gold necklace so she could wear it to some party, lost it, and told my mom I did it.”
“Then maybe she's a bitch and we need to avoid her at all costs.” Sango said, I could tell she was just saying that.
“That's the spirit!”
“You girls better get going or you'll be late!” My mom warned.
“Going!” I exclaimed as I walked out the door. We could've driven to school but none of us had a car. So we all walked down the sidewalk. It wasn't that bad I mean I only lived a couple blocks away from school but it would be nice to have a car to show off. Oh well.
“Look Kikyo, I'll show you around just for today but then you're on your own,” I told her as we walked.
She stopped me, “Look Kagome, I know we didn't exactly hit it off during the summer, but I'd really like it if we could be friends. I mean, whether we like it or not, we're sisters. So, why don't we just make the best of it? Okay?”
I stood there, completely in shock. Who was this and what did it do to Kikyo? Not that I wanted her back. “Um, okay.” She smiled and continued to walk.
“You know Kagome, I think you're right. Based on that, she could be Satin's daughter,” Sango said sarcastically.
“I don't believe her for a second.”
“C'mon Kagome. Maybe she really does want to get along with you. Are you sure you're not just being paranoid?”
“Positive.”
“Okay if you're sure,” she shrugged. We rounded the corner and there it was.
Shikon High. So many memories made at this school. And thank god one more year and I could get the hell out of here. We walked up the front stairs of the school and entered the two big front doors.
“Sango, what's your locker number?”
“302.”
“Yes! 301!” We gave each other a high five. Sango and my locker were usually in two different hallways. Now we finally next to each other. We walked to the long line of green lockers.
“I guess my locker's is across the hall,” Kikyo pointed to the other side of the hall.
“Okay go put your stuff in and I'll help you to your first class.”
“Okay.” She hopped off merrily to her locker.
“You know, I think I might actually enjoy my—OW!” Something yanked my hair from behind. I turned around, “What the hell?!”
“Well, gosh hi to you too.” The girl said. She had red hair, green eyes and was wearing jeans and green t-shirt with green flip-flops.
“Ayame!” I gave her a hug, “I missed you!”
“What about me?” A voice said from behind. I turned again to see a girl with black hair like mine who had on a jean skirt with a deep pink tank top with a black skinny strap under.
“Yes, Rin. I missed you too.” I gave her a hug.
“I find that hard to believe.”
“What?”
“We didn't hear from you all summer! You know it wouldn't kill you to send an e-mail.”
But apparently it would kill me to NOT send one. “I'm sorry you guys. But hey, it's great to see everyone again.”
“Speaking of,” Rin looked over my shoulder, “I'm going to say high to Sesshomaru's biceps. Bye!” She raced off to Sesshomaru.
I sighed, “Rin, Rin, I really did miss her.”
“Kagome?” Another voice said from behind me. Yay. One more person to nag me about not keeping in contact. I turned around. And then I screamed. I ran towards him and threw my arms around him.
Inuyasha. I've known him since the first grade. And we've been best friends ever since. I remember how we met. Some kids were making fun of me by the monkey bars because my dad left us. He walked out on us when I was little. Then Inuyasha came and beat them up because of it.
Yes, he was still violent back then too. But he also had a few good qualities. But anyway, I realized in the seventh grade that I had developed a crush on him. Then by high school I realized that I was in love with him.
Of course, I've never told him that. I couldn't tell him. It could ruin our friendship. And, I didn't want that to happen. So, for the last five years I've kept my feelings to myself.
“Oh my god I'm so happy to see you!” I said.
“It's good to see you too.”
“How was your summer?”
“Horrible.”
“What?”
“With you gone I was stuck with Sesshomaru, Miroku, and Kouga.” He shuddered.
“How did you deal?”
“I took care of it.”
I took a step back, “They are still alive aren't they?”
He rolled his eyes, “Unfortunatley.”
“Ahem.” I heard from behind.
“Sorry. Inuyasha this is my new step-sister, Kikyo.”
She did a small wave, “Hi.”
“H-h-hey.” I could see that look in his eye.
“Um, Kagome where's the room 512?”
“Oh it's—”
“Down the hall take a left and it's the second door on your right.” Inuyasha interrupted.
“Thanks.” She smiled and walked down the hall. Inuyasha's eyes followed her.
I tapped him on the shoulder, “Okay, one, she was talking to me. And two, that's not where room 512 is.”
“It isn't?”
“No. It's down the other hallway, take a right and it's the third door on your left.”
“Oh. Where did I lead her?”
I thought for a moment, mapping it out. I laughed, “The janitor's closet.”
“Crap. I guess I was nervous.”
“About what?” I stared at him, “You don't…like her do you?”
He shook his head, “I just met her,” he walked to his locker which was three down from mine.
“Yeah, but I saw the way you looked at her,” not to mention I hated it.
“What do you mean?”
I leaned on the locker next to his, “With the hearts in your eyes,” I joked.
“Whatever.”
“What's your first class?”
His eyes rolled to the ceiling in confusion. He searched his backpack for his schedule. “Holy crap where'd I put it?” I eyed a piece of paper in his back pocket. I carefully slipped it out without him noticing and unfolded it. I refolded it and put behind me.
“English.”
“What?”
“English is your first class.”
“How did you—?”
I shrugged, “What can I say? I'm psychic,” I walked past him and went dramatic, “I see beyond present,” I turned back to him and struck a pose, “and into the future.” I returned to normal, “Not to mention help from my lovely assistant,” I pulled out the slip of paper from behind me.
He snatched it from my hand and smiled, “You truly don't know how cruel you are.”
“Ah, but you love it anyway.”
He shrugged, “I guess I do.” I gave him a look, “Okay so I do. I can never tell a lie,” he put one hand over his heart, that is if he has one anyway.
Just kidding.
“Since when?!”
“Since you gave me that look. That stare. Ugh gives me the creeps”
“Whatever. Well I have to go to Drama first period.”
“Kagome? Drama? No!” he said sarcastically.
I slapped him in the arm, “Shut it asshole. But first, I have to direct my step-sister to her real first class.”
“Wait,” he grabbed her arm, “She's your step-sister?”
I raised an eyebrow, “Were you listening when I introduced you two?”
“Well I-I uh…”
“Was lost in her eyes,” I batted my eyelashes.
He pointed a finger at me, “I'm gonna remember that.” He turned started walking.
“Is that a threat?”
“You could say that.” He shouted, still walking.
“What's that supposed to mean?”
“I would consider it more as a death sentence.”
“Oh really?”
“Yup.”
“Well think of it this way,” he stopped. I walk towards him, “Kill me and you're stuck with Sesshomaru, Miroku, and Kouga for the rest of your life!”
“You know, a knife can kill more than one person.”
“You're using a knife? How unoriginal! Be a little creative!”
He crossed his arms, “What do you want me to do?”
I deepened my voice and made it slightly scratchy, “I want to play a game.” I said imitating the voice of Saw, our favorite movie.
“Okay, I'll hang you in a freezer room and spray you with water until you freeze to death.”
I made a disgusted face, “Ugh, freezing to death,” I shuddered, “gives me the chills. No pun intended. NO! WAIT I GOT IT! Tie me and Sesshomaru up and stick the iron rods through us like in the fourth one, that way when I pull the rods out I kill him.”
“Perfect! You're a genius!”
I bowed, “Thank you.” I frowned, “Oh god.”
“What?”
“Have we really gotten so pathetic that we're thinking of creative ways for me to die?”
We looked at each other, “Nope,” we said in unison. We both laughed and went our separate ways. We were probably the weirdest people ever. But we didn't have a problem with it. I sighed and walked through the halls of Shikon High.
Today was going to be a long day.

A\N: Holy crap! That was long. Look that's not the best I could've done for that chapter and I'll explain a lot more throughout the story. But we've got some of the basics covered. And I'm sorry for anyone who didn't understand the Saw traps. I'll explain it now. Saw is (my favorite movie) but it's about a mastermind murder named Jigsaw who sets people in traps he calls “games.” That's where the line “I want to play game” comes from. Anyway he puts people in situations they can get out of but they must do it themselves. What I mean is, usually there is a key involved and they have to do something drastic but not always. And some traps are timed. If they cannot get out before their time runs out they pay the ultimate price. Death. But it's too much to explain here so if you want to know more I would suggest looking it up. Or you could see the movies, but it is rated R so I don't know if you can. If you do though it is a horror movie and is gory. There are four in all. And fifth one is coming out this October. You were warned. And if maybe you get in trouble for seeing it DON'T BLAME IT ON ME! I didn't order you to do it. I merely suggested it. In other news, Shikon high. Always used I know but that's because it's hard coming up with a name for a Japanese high school. But minor detail…sort of. But I hope you wuved it and come back for more! Speaking of the sixth chapter of Zinc, for anyone whose reading that also, will be on its way! Remember LunaStar* wuvs you all!
