InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ I My Me ❯ Animal House ( Chapter 4 )
"And One, and Two, and Three, and One.." A stern voice echoed through out the hallway of a lavished auditorium as a set of silhouetted bodies contorted themselves into delicate movements. The loud smacking of hand against palm sounded as Kikyo capriciously sauntered down the aisle towards the stage. Her face was lit up with unshed tears of élan surging beneath the edges of her evocative eyes.
The trip was relatively short, only consisting of a two hour flight, tops. After InuYasha had left her standing there in the terminal she'd given intense thought on their relationship. For the past three years, he'd been trying to talk her out of departing to take on auditions for her own dreams. Reconsidering, what they'd talked about on numerous occasions, the girl had determined that as soon as she returned home, that it would be over.
It has to be done. Kikyo sighed, as she clamped her ginger hands together to hand just over her womb; Resting lightly on the sleek fabric of her dress. A small smile tugged at her lips, that was downcast and proper. It wasn't often that she could truly be this reckless, but still the deliberation that filtered through her thoughts was strong and structured. You can do this, you know it Kikyo. Just don't think about it until the time comes. It'll hurt less if you drown it out. The youth's lips pouted in dejection, before shaking the pondering from her head. InuYasha..
"Excuse me, Miss?" The woman from earlier called from her perch of a small stool at the very end of the crimson curtain that hung in flowing rivulets of textile. A minute grin tugged at her lips as she pulled back her thin framed glasses slightly; Most likely to get a good look at her new student. "Do you need anything, dear?" She asked once more, still as lithe in her voice as in body.
Kikyo stood in wonder at the retreating dancers, all dressed in suited attire, before she averted her dark and nervous eyes upwards. Her facial features carved themselves into a graciously exultant temperament. " Yes, I'm Kikyo Higurashi." The raven headed beauty nodded, raising her head a bit higher to mask her slight fear. "I'm attending this course for the next week. Of all things, I just arrived here from my flight and I wanted to experience the surroundings I would be studying in first hand." She spoke charmingly, exhaling the breath that built so roughly in her lungs.
The woman on stage smiled inwardly, and brushed back a flutter of hair that fell from the bun that kept it pliant yet sturdy. "Do you find it satisfactory, my dear?" She inquired, crossing her legs to rest her arms upon them.
"Yes, I find it lovely, it's rather breathtaking." Kikyo took the opportunity to soak in her surroundings more so than before. Sealing her eyes closed, she drew in the fragrant scent of lilacs and musty boards, that tinged her senses. The ethereal atmosphere, most likely would be her undoing. So tranquil, placid. Reopening her charcoal eyes, she bowed her head gently towards the woman. "Well, I'll find my quarters and refrain from disturbing your rehearsal." She said respectively, her hair shimmering as it fell over her shoulders while retracting her head from the movement.
The woman's russet eyes sparkled in the bright lights, as she winked appropriately. "By the way, love, my name's Kaguya." She licked her cherry colored lips quickly, and bristled a finger through her mussed tresses. "If you need anything, you can talk to me, or my sister Kagura. Hm, nice name association for twins, ne?" Kaguya chuckled softly, and shifted her reclined body to her feet.
Kikyo nodded nonchalantly, and gave her thanks. Turning around, the regal girl shuttled off down the pathway in the midst of chairs and half empty duffle bags. An unadulterated smile misted her features, her heart was beating so heavily with adrenaline and excitement, the prospect on waiting seemed futile. Now, she somehow had to force herself to sleep for her earlier morning activities. Nyquil, here I come.
"You talked me into this, how?" Kagome spat, as she walked out of her bed room, placed to the left of the entrance room of her flat. Her hands were working around the straps of her dress, pulling and prodding at the thin things like it was a desecration against her nature. Her eyes lifted as she kicked the plastered door closed with her tennis shoe covered feet.
InuYasha hadn't been paying attention to anything around him other than the hockey game that was rerun on the sport's channel. "You needed to talk to the almighty, do gooder of all do gooder's, Taijiya. 'Member?" The boy replied absentmindedly, keeping his eyes trained on the television that might as well have owned his soul, at the moment.
"Oh, Yasha don't say member like that it makes me all hot." Kagome rolled her eyes, as she straightened out the clumps that plagued her as "the crow flies" hair . She smirked crookedly, upon seeing the boy's reaction as he sat up with an enthralled stare. The way his cheeks lit up with a flush, made her stomach twist. In all of the time that she had known him, she faintly remembered when he looked at her like that. It hurts about as much as being stabbed with a rusted nail in the eye.
"Oh please, little girl.." InuYasha hid his face behind a coverlet of intertwined silver and raven as they battled for dominance in the fluorescent lighting. His dark eyes shifted, glancing at her through a rift in his tattered bangs. "It's not like you've ever had sex." He scoffed mockingly, only to see the stunning girl shed a weak smile that he knew was pressed. Deep down his stomach churned watching her, putting in the effort to make herself something that she wasn't .
"Like you have, either." Kagome countered, flashing a relentless stare at the youth, letting all of her emotion hang on the blade of her smoky depths. Marking the obviously unsettled shores that awaited for the storm to finally fall. Quickly, receiving nothing more than a silent gasp, she continued and primped herself to the best of her feeble ability. Dainty hands found the coarse cotton of the dress, driving over the fine stitching, until her fingers caught the subtle red ribbon of silk that dipped just below her less than ample breasts.
InuYasha glowered, as he brought a hand up to brush his hair back. The feel of smooth gossamer strands sifted through his fingers like sand that bathes the shores, until drowning in the murky depths of the unknown. With a sigh, he pushed himself off of the resident couch that smelled far too much like over priced perfume, and residual dust. Clenching his fist, the leggy boy strode casually over towards Kagome, bracing his bare elbow on the door frame above her. Towering over her insignificant stature with a dry smile.
Feeling his eyes boring into her exposed back, she flinched. There really wasn't much she could do to get away from him, after all that damned thing known as attraction kept her from doing so. Why, god? Why me? The obsidian haired girl sighed despondently, and leaned down on her bare legs, to buckle them as her arms, gathered a heap of books from the corner just beneath a small table. "So, need me to tell you how to get to Muso's?" Kagome muttered, seemingly anything for a distraction.
InuYasha tapered his sights, watching Kagome's spine arch in her back as she rose back up into a straightened line. He had to admit, she had grown into quite the dazzling young woman. All of her curves, though subtle, were placed naturally. Without the work of hours of continuous and time consuming exercise that Kikyo lived for.
Reaching towards his right ever so slightly, he extended his arm expectantly for Kagome to drop her books in the crook. "Just tell me when we get back to the car, all right?" He smiled weakly, stuffing down the itching feeling that pressed in his stomach as the girl raised those liquid silver eyes. It was amazing, really.
"All right." Kagome nodded, placing the heaping mound of heavy weight into his arms. Brushing past the feel of his bare flesh against her own. It made her shudder all of the times, that she had felt him. No less arousing than the last, but it was different. Calloused, perhaps, but still craving. Shaking the thought from her head, she headed for the door, being followed in tow by a confused man.
After arguing about which method of suicide was the best, InuYasha had finally stepped out of the car at Muso's dorm room; He'd been sullen that the girl's brilliant answers where far more clever than a gun to the head. Impatiently, Kagome was standing at the door with her head held low, and expectant of the verbal abuse that she was sure to receive when that damned thing opened. I'm going to regret this. The obsidian headed girl sighed, bringing a hesitant hand upwards towards the knocker.
InuYasha reached into his relatively form fitted black jeans pocket, and pulled out a mint that had most likely been given a few rounds in the washer. Popping it in his mouth, he rubbed his bare arms for warmth, considering that Kagome was now wearing his jacket, it was his only real means of comfort. As the wash of peppermint rolled over his taste buds, he clomped his worn down tennis shoes along the cement until he was promptly at Kagome's side. Towering over her beneath the balcony that was held over head.
"So, your not still bitter about earlier?" Kagome smirked, reveling in the smell that surrounded her callow body with all of the trappings of fresh rain and pine. She flashed him her best smile, as the door flew open letting the ripples of bursting music bombard her ears aswell as InuYasha's. Snapping back a step, her eyes fell on Sango; Hazed by a drunken stupor.
"Hey Ka-goh-may." Sango slurred, rocking gently back and forth on her bare feet. Her violet eyes were glazed by a sheet of glass that fell from the heavens waiting to shatter against concrete. Where as her cheeks were flustered and rounded by a plastic smile. Suddenly, the auburn haired girl shot a side ways glance at the boy standing at attention next to her friend. "Yasha, long time no see." She giggled, turning on her heels back towards the keg. "Have fun you two."
InuYasha chuckled, placing a palm against Kagome's back pressing her forward into the haze and smoke that couldn't be damaged by a knife even if tried. A slew of inebriated twenty somethings were guzzling down more than their fair share of liquor and cheap beer from the tap. "Rather pointless, huh?" The boy asked, skimming his hands over the girl's shoulders before resting them firmly on the collar of his jacket.
"Exactly." Kagome winked, shaking off the coat into his hands. Revealing far too much skin, than she was comfortable with. "Well, I'm getting drunk, so I guess you'll be driving, again." She pointed out as a swamp of horny college kids crushed their bodies to one another, making her gag inwardly at the sight. Dear god, they're like fucking animals. The raven haired girl blinked, finding it awkward to stand in front of people that she knew while they went at it like rabid rabbits.
"Chewin' the buttons off her blouse." InuYasha snorted, while he tossed the jacket on the musty couch that sat directly against the wall on the right. Surprisingly, it wasn't covered in bodily secretions or a body for that matter. "Hey, little girl, I'll be right here, all right?" He asked loud enough for her to hear over the blaring music, that burned his ears. Emphasis on what he meant was sealed as he plopped down in the midst of the cushions and discarded clothing.
"Like you to be chewing off my blouse buttons." Kagome muttered to herself, waving a hand behind her as she adjusted her top. Joining Sango in the kitchenette, watching her laugh and parade around like an idiot. Her facial features were beaten by streaked makeup, and sweat that clung to her brow.
"Kagome," Sango stuck out her tongue handing her a brilliant mixture of vodka and whisky in a plastic white rimmed cup. "So, we're going to have an outfit switch." She rolled the words off her tongue smoothly as possible, receiving a mortified glare from Kagome whom sipped the nauseating concoction. Grimacing in the process.
"What do you mean, Sango?" Kagome arched a apathetic brow, as she scraped her tongue with her teeth to cleanse the taste that wouldn't leave.
"Oh," The girl chortled, shaking her head back and forth as she placed a dazed spring in her step as she bounced. Her hair waved about, showering her shoulders in a fresh bath of alcohol and that same familiar jasmine scent. "Well, Miroku and I were talking to Hiten and Satsuki about something that we could do..or something." Sango pondered, kicking Muso as he strutted by in a stagger with a smirk laced over his lips.
"Who's your friend, Sango?" The boy grinned, wobbling back and forth on quivering legs. His dark eyes studied Kagome from head to toe, dragging his tongue out along the curve of his lip. "She looks familiar." Muso pondered, while he leaned against the counter top that was littered with empty bottles of stagnant beer. Looping his tuxedo covered legs together, the look in his eyes drew into Kagome's form, sifting through his incoherent memory.
"Maybe, I look familiar because you spent the majority of last semester calling me, No Knolls." Kagome hissed, tipping up the synthetic cup. Guzzling down the burning liquid, she gasped for oxygen to quell the itch. Her silver eyes were taut with a newly found glaze. A hand was placed flat against the wall, clawing at the painted surface as she narrowed her eyes at Sango, whom stood with a wide smile.
"Well," Sango clapped her hands, now covered in a film of perspiration. "I'll be taking Kagome, now." She chirped, cracking her knuckles quickly as she jutted a hand forwards to jerk the girl from the wall. "I'll see you later, Muso." She winked her fluttery lashes, pulling Kagome roughly out of the kitchen heading towards a group of people near the window.
Kagome glowered, feeling Sango's nails dig carelessly into her flesh; Near the point of lacerating the porcelain surface. Holding her head low, she hid futilely behind a blanket of flowing hair as she neared the window where the music was filtered from. The stereo to the right was churning thunderously causing her head to beat the sides of her skull in relent. At some point on her small trek, one of her shoes had fallen off in the vast sea of heads that floated on the tides of smoke and beer.
The sound of Sango's voice drowned itself out by the lithe musings coming from her own mind. Kagome flashed her eyes upwards, seeing Miroku waving them down with a cheeky grin; He too obviously drunk. The boy's shaggy hair was matted up, in a rat's nest, near the base of his neck as he tried pulling what he could into a loose ponytail.
Rocking back and forth, he shoved his hands in his jean pockets. "Hey my dear, and lovely Kagome." His sapphire eyes glinted in the soft light of the room, drawing Kagome into the ever lasting pools of her friend. It had been so long since she'd seen him. As if on instinct, she shook from Sango's grasp only to fling her arms around Miroku tightly. Burying her face within the soft fabric of his shirt, if nothing else to smother away her forming headache.
Miroku chuckled, wrapping an arm lazily around her shoulders. Sango rolled her eyes playfully, lavishing a kiss on the side of his cheek as she strode by and plopped down on a plush chair. "You know, Roku," His majestic girlfriend smirked, tilting her face back upwards towards him. "InuYasha's here." Her amusement danced within her indigo eyes.
Impetuous laughter rang from Miroku as he felt Kagome shift from beneath his hold, shooting him a defiant stare. "He is here." Flinging a bare arm towards the other side of the room, she huffed with a flush rising on her cheeks. "Look for yourself, Miroku!" The raven headed girl growled, stomping her foot as though she were a child being denied of a favored toy.
"Calm down, Kagome." The composed youth sighed, bringing his palms down against the air in order to pacify her fiery mood. Partially, he was amazed by the fact that she'd forgotten to bitch and mock Sango for choosing him as a love interest, but with that thought easily stomped down. He shot a glance towards the couch where the subjected boy sat conversing with what appeared to be Hakkaku.
Kagome closed her eyes exhaling her tension, and leaned down grabbing a half empty bottle of vodka that someone casually left on the end table next to Sango. "Do you see him now?" She perked her brows with a snide tone, bringing the pungent liquor to her swollen lips, and pouring it down as it singed her throat uncomfortably.
"Yes, my dear, I see the punk." Miroku laughed slightly, brushing his nails down his arm to kill an itch. "I take it that you and our beloved Yasha have reconciled?" He asked absentmindedly as Sango placed her head against his fabric covered thigh, closing her eyes.
Kagome ignored the question, and kept bringing the bottle to her lips. Her body trembled slightly with the warmth that scorched beneath her skin. She was restless, and languid at the same time. She peeled her liquid silver eyes open, and clunked the bottle back down against the table with a loud racket. The comment that Miroku had made bit her in the ass, only fueling the drive to run and leave this place behind. Nonetheless, she clapped her hands loudly enough for a few people to turn their heads.
Staggering, the girl trailed her hands down towards the ends of her dress, playing with the frilly fabric before smirking wildly. A Long since forgotten flame sparked from the embers. With a snap of her head, she yanked a toggle from her wrist and slapped her hair up loosely, letting it fall in rivers of obsidian around her as it sprang loose. Still holding a mask, from her bangs.
Miroku and Sango watched with furrowed brows as she walked away from the both of them, in awe the auburn headed girl gaped her lips as Kagome shoved sweaty and oversized jocks off of her as they hung over her pleading for sex and favors. A rush of cool air hit the girl's heated flesh as she stared through molten orbs at InuYasha. Just sitting in the corner of the couch, alone. A smile quirked in the corner of her lips, vivaciously.
The muscles in her small body tingled with a balmy need, that in some, way begged to be quenched. Her breath smelled of liquor and mint, nonetheless, she giggled in an attempt to make a straight face as she saw the feral glare beaming from InuYasha's stormy eyes.
The boys thin cheeks lifted as he watched Kagome sway with the motions of her dress, still hobbling with one shoed foot. He sighed to himself, in some sort of pseudo content that she hated been molested by a mire of hungry men. A thousand thoughts raced through his head, each of them consisting of memories he had at one time with that specific girl, in surrounding much like this.
Smiling lightly, he blew a puff of air into his bangs. Tearing his eyes away, he crossed his arms over his head, resting them against the crown of his skull. His legs were tossed around lackadaisically, awaiting for Kagome to sit down in his lap as she always had done when she was in her drunken stupor.
Nuzzling her head into the crook of his neck, Kagome made herself comfortable. She'd been indolently lounging on her friend for nearly an hour. Lanky and pallid legs buckled around his hips, arms tossed around his neck, massaging his gossamer hair. "InuYasha?" The girl in his lap murmured, raising her face to peer at him.
"What little girl?" He asked as usual, shifting slightly, so he could sit up a bit straighter while everyone passed them by. His arms linked around her, pulling her up a bit further aswell, dragging her hips against his in a rough buck. Silently, he gasped, swallowing down what wanted to be a moan.
"Do you know how hard it is," Kagome bit her lip, grinding down with her hips once more against his, letting her eyes flutter closed as the thick fabric of his jeans tugged against her panties. "For me.." Her voice bellowed through his ears, as he dug his nails into the small of her back. "Not to have you?" She slurred, bringing her lips into a sultry pout as she reopened her eyes.
InuYasha wrinkled his nose at the stench of alcohol pouring from her, though, he couldn't deny her a damn thing. The way she looked at the particular moment, was untamed and sweltering. The straps of her small dress had fallen over her shoulders, to hang about her upper arms. Absentmindedly, his calloused fingers brushed up and down the arch of her spine, keeping his dark eyes matched to hers. "Kagome," He breathed jaggedly. "You know, that we can't do this. I'm with Kik-"
Kagome smirked, as her hand crept up his shirt. The moist feel of her lower body throbbed, a heat swelling in the lower pit of her stomach. "Please?" She muttered breathlessly against his skin, sending small shivers along his flesh; That flushed where ever she touched.
Flinching, he let his eyes sink into a half lidded state as a restrained groan emitted from his throat. He shook his head, feeling the refreshing cool of his hair against his skin. "No, Kagome." He hissed, reluctantly. Drawing her hands back with his, he stared at her hurt facial features. It pierced his heart to see her beg for him, coyly ask for him to have her. I can't let myself do that to her, even if I want to.
"What's wrong with me, then?" Kagome asked bitterly, burying the last shards of her pride deep within her drunken veins. "You never told me why we had to stop." She muttered so quietly that over the music and chatting people near by that the sound was nothing more than a zephyr of breath. "How long do you think we can keep this up, InuYasha? She flashed him a quick glance. "It really never ended, did it?"
Just by looking into her remorseful eyes that had long since lost their fire, he lowered his head into his hands. Simply watching her lips form a longing pout as she stared out, with hands crossed over her lap, peering out over the heads of people. "Kagome," He sighed, cupping his thin face within the palms of his hands. " It just didn't work." His voice tensed, as if he was hiding something from her. Even hearing that lie, it pained the girl more to know that he couldn't bring himself to be honest.
What's going on with me?! Kagome growled at herself, the look in her eyes was still timid, and more callow than she could ever remember. Pressing herself from the couch, she stood up and shot InuYasha the best smile that she could deliver with such a sour façade backing the action. "Will you atleast dance with me?" Her eyes pleaded against his briefly, before he nodded weakly.
InuYasha drew his arms around Kagome's shoulders, pressing her back into his chest as they stumbled over towards Sango, whom was slumped over Miroku. The chair was tilting slightly as the boy rocked it back and forth with his foot as his girlfriend dripped a puddle of drool onto the floor. A smirk quirked in his lips, as he locked his arms tighter around the fragile girl in his arms, resting his chin a top her head.
Kagome closed her eyes, pondering over what she did wrong. It was moments like this that killed her, she needed him, and she knew he needed her. That's why so many times he nearly found the strength to kiss her, and love her again. It was hopeless, she thought, leaning into the sway of body that she easily fell into, linking her petite fingers with his. All the while, letting the heart tugging song jerk at her emotions.
Life from my breath, I'm drowning in my dread. The wind is getting strong, the wind is getting stronger.
There's no second chance, No more devils made you dance. The sky is getting dark, the sky is getting dark.
Can't you see, Can't you see, we were never meant to be, It's no secret that I'm your china girl. Don't you know, Don't you know, that' it's time for me to go. It's no secret that I'm your China girl.
No turning back, no questions left to ask, the tide high, tide is getting higher
I'm not afraid. I silenced all these things, time to face the storm, time to face the storm…
Kagome pulled away abruptly, drowning in the scent that surrounded her, and made her way to the to leaving InuYasha standing alone, until he waved his farewells and spoke a few words to Miroku and the near dead Sango. Every word that he had just heard while grasping that insatiable girl to his chest, burned. He knew that she felt it too, and knew damned well that that was the reason she left… She needed to go.
Kagome's eyes stung with a shield of unyielding tears that fell in rivers to washout the gully that formed along the soft curvatures of her face. Her eyes were bloodshot and stained with glass, her lips were swollen into a rubious shade that matched her mood.
All in all, she wanted to crawl into a ball and die miserably.
The sounds of the inside reverberated in her head, as she leaned against the beat up car that she knew so well. Her body was shuddering from the scepter of frost. However, she gave in the urge to glance over towards the door watching InuYasha stride out with a somber expression burdening his features. Tugging at her insides more than it needed to.
The raven haired boy, dragged along with him her missing shoes, and his jacket all thrown in a heap over his lanky shoulder. Approaching her softly, he shed a weak smile that hung so short of reaching his eyes, that the molten orbs where shallow. "Kagome.." He muttered quietly, coming to a stop leaned to her left on the car. "Don't cry."
"Don't tell me what to fucking do, Yasha!" Kagome hissed, turning her bare back him as she shivered obviously. Small ripples of skin wavering in the frosted air, that contrasted greatly from the interior. "I'm not a fucking little girl anymore!" The girl yelled, averting her stormy eyes over her shoulder to shoot him a menacing look through her tattered bangs that were now matted to her head from sweat.
"Kagome, listen, if I could have-" InuYasha raised an arm, after shoving an angry cigarette in his mouth to relieve the tension that was far too built. His face was flushed as his temper seared through his veins, causing him to chuck the items on his shoulder to the wet concrete. Never loosing harsh eye contact with the girl that stood short against his stature.
"If you could have what, InuYasha?" Kagome growled, slapping her palms to her face to remove the residual eyeliner that caked on through running streams of black. "If you could have just stayed away from me when we were younger, we wouldn't have to deal with this shit now!"
InuYasha ripped the cigarette from his lips, baring it between his index finger and thumb, he pointed it at her, shaking his head in disbelief. That incredulous comment made him scoff in mock surprise, "You know, you can't just turn this shit on me, bitch." He hissed, "You're just as responsible as I am!" He glowered, sucking back a drag off his stick.
Kagome glared as though he had just struck her across the face. With a bitter sigh she turned on her bare feet and stabbed a finger into his chest, beaming all of the melancholy and spite she possessed through her clouded eyes. Her voice was tight and strained as she bit back the urge to cry again, "You are such a fucking asshole, I spent years defending you and then you chase the first beautiful girl that you can find! She's not a fucking trophy you know!" Kagome fumed, reaching her hands into her long ebony tresses just to grip onto something before she killed him.
"God fucking dammit!" InuYasha yelled, narrowing his eyes on her. "You left me, you know Kagome," He tightened his jaw, making it obvious at how ragged his breathing really was. "No way in hell you'll pin this on me, You are the one that left me for whatever his name was , in high school. Fuck, Kags, just get over it."He sighed, turning around to kick the hub cap on his car as rigorously as possible.
"That was a fucking mistake, and I even came back to tell you that I was sorry for doing that to you , then the next fucking then I know you were with my sister!" Kagome furrowed her brows, running her hands up her arms as her teeth chattered. Her stomach knotted, as she let her eyes gaze down to the ground. "You can't keep acting like you don't want this ether, InuYasha! We've played this fucking game long enough, I don't think I can stand loosing you again." Her voice tapered off briefly, be found it's force again. "Do you really think you'll be happy with someone that is never around?!" Kagome solemnly glared in defiance.
InuYasha flicked his cigarette across the parking lot, and ground his teeth together, as he stared maliciously at her. Watching her pull her head back up from their interest in the ground. His right hand jutted out, gripping her face so tightly that the imprint of his fingers would be there for another day or so, and pulled her into a possessive and abusive kiss.
