Era: This is going to be a short story, I promise.

Era: You need to keep typing because this chapter is long.

 

A/N: I know I can see that idiot.

 

Era: Start the story I want to jump in that hot tub your mom just bought.

 

A/N: Oh! Okay. Here we go.

 

 

Chapter 6

 

 

Kagome narrowed her eyes when she woke up to see Naraku choking Kilala. She was only sleep for four hours and Kilala still didn't come down now that Naraku was here. Kagome looked at Naraku smirking at the demon cat. “Put her down or your ass is going to be the one in the air Naraku.” Kagome said coldly.

Naraku glared at her for a bit then dropped Kilala hard on the ground. Kilala walked over to Kagome slowly and growled. “He's going to be here for only two days. Just be calm while he's here.” She said softly to Kilala. Kilala mewled when Kagome pat her between the ears. Kagome then glared at Naraku. “I'm surprised that you didn't take my jewel shards while I and Kilala were asleep. Why are you here anyway? I meant to ask you that before but I had a headache from all that air hitting my ears.”

Naraku frowned and said, “Why would I take jewel shards from a defenseless sleepy miko when I can take it easily when she's awake and has a weapon?”

Kagome grinned and said, “Maybe because you are sick and you do anything to get what you want.”

Kagome stood up and looked around. “Where was I going?” She stopped and looked around then looked at Naraku that was smiling evilly. “What?” he asked with amusement well in his voice. Kagome then went to her backpack and pulled out some tuna for Kilala. “I'm sorry Kilala but we are going to have to eat quickly this morning.” She said pulling out some crackers and cheese for herself. Eating quickly she put her backpack on her back and starting walking away with Kilala in her arms finishing off the tuna that was in her mouth. When she was done chewing she growled at Naraku that was following three feet away from them.

 

“Kagura.” Kanna stated calmly at her beaten sister. Her emotionless eyes far from being understood even when trying to have emotion showing. She walked downstairs to her fallen sister. Kagura looked up slowly and scowled. “You really shouldn't go against Naraku he knows more about you than you know Kagura. Make one wrong move and he can kill you on the spot making both of us look bad.” Kanna yanked Kagura's chin up so she can look her in the eyes.

“You are going to starve. I will make sure that wish is carried out but first torture.” Kanna said emotionless.

Kagura's eyes widened and Kanna chuckled low. “I run the shows around here and I'll make sure you are killed. All I have to do is come up with an illusion in my mirror and show you betraying Naraku and he'll kill you quicker than you think. I'm loyal only to gain trust and when all that trust is gained I will make sure that Naraku regrets ever trusting me. As we speak he's probably listening but I'm never going to get punished because I don't act. I'm waiting and I want you gone.” Kanna smacked Kagura hard in the face. Standing up from Kagura's naked weak body Kanna pulled her mirror out and faced it towards Kagura.

Kagura could feel her soul leaving her and her energy being drained from her body. Kanna was worse than Naraku to her. If you get on her bad side you better stay out of her way and most of the time she always looked the same so when she's angry you can only tell it if she speaks lowly. Kanna smiled evilly and it sent shivers down Kagura's spine. Kanna put her mirror away back in her kimono and walked over to Kagura.

“Naraku physically hurt you; I'm going to mentally hurt you.”

 

 

Kagome was quite annoyed. Naraku was walking three feet away from her and she really wanted to start a conversation. The silence was driving her crazy and even Kilala was bored but she was asleep already. Kagome wanted someone to talk to and all this quietness was driving her crazy so she finally snapped. “Naraku, why do you like tormenting others?” It was a stupid question yes but she had to start up a conversation or ask him something. She turned her head slightly so she can see him in the corner of her eye. She could see he was smiling.

“I don't like it; I enjoy it. It's just amusing to me to see how many faces you humans make when they know when you are about to die.” He said with a calm voice.

“How did you become so evil? Didn't you have any friends? Sango told me like a year ago that when she met you, you were like a teenager.” Kagome slowed her walk a bit.

“When I was growing up children stayed away from me. Apparently they felt some kind of wave that told them I was dangerous.” He answered back laughing thinking about it.

Kagome thought about it. He really was like a lonely person only having his offspring to talk to. No friends or anybody for that manner were willingly to follow or be ordered by him. Unless he brainwashed you like he did many times to Kagome.

“You could walk next to me now. I only trust you a little bit but still keep your distance. If you don't I and Kilala will be in a battle of our lives against you. Now come on I sense a jewel shard in the village coming up a few miles up ahead.”

Naraku smiled and speed his walk up so he can stand next to Kagome. She looked at him deep in his crimson eyes and looked forward about to ask some more questions.

 

“Miroku what have we done?” Sango asked for the fifth time. She was still in shock that Kagome up and left like that. Kilala was a surprise too and it made her depressed. She's the one that found Kilala the one that always fed her but now she was just a demon she knows. Sango looked up at Miroku's deep blue eyes and tears formed at her dark brown ones.

“We will find Kagome and apologize. That's the only thing we can do now that we have done something.” Miroku said wisely. His fiancé was being torn apart just being separated by Kagome a sister to both of them. He kept his emotions locked up inside of him and inside he was weeping as much as Sango was on the outside. Inuyasha ran off to find Kagome by himself last night. Sango and Shippo wanted to rest but Inuyasha feh'd and walked away. They never saw him since and now Shippo was gone. Sango yelled at him and he ran away with tears in his eyes. The group really did fall apart and it chilled him to the bone.

Sango had an emotional break down and he wasn't sure if he loved her anymore. He only loved her because of her strong ability to succeed and keep a cool head during battle. Now he's looking at her and thinking he really made a mistake asking her to marry him. Miroku shook his head at his thoughts and frowned at the hysterical Sango.

 

 

“Another jewel shard for me!” Kagome shouted as loud as she could which was loud. When they went to the village they found out that the whole village was under a spell by a demon and the demon had the jewel shard which was in a cave south of the village. It was a snake youkai that hypnotized everybody in the village. Naraku just sat back and watched Kagome work. Throughout the day she was talking to him like they were friends already. She even told him about her home and where she really came from because he asked her why she dressed like that. Kagome laughed and said I come from a different time period. My time is the future and your time is the past and I can't wait until this journey is over.

“Are we done or are you going to praise about a single jewel shard?” Naraku asked coldly.

“Just because you don't have another shard doesn't mean you have to be cold to me and no I'm not sharing.” Kagome said running up to him.

“You don't have to share.” Naraku said with a smirk. “You can just give them to me.”

Kagome walked away and smirked, “That will only happen in your dreams and you know that. It's no way I'm giving you the jewel shards so you can destroy the world. Why do you want to destroy the world anyway?” she said becoming serious once again.

“I don't want to destroy the world I want to rule it and besides I changed my mind about that. I really don't know why I want it now but I do want it to become a full youkai and kill anybody that comes in my way.” He said loud.

“Why?” Kagome eyes widened.

“Onigumo that's why.” He answered with a glare.

“That's right. Don't you have that spider thing on your back?” Kagome pulled out some tuna for Kilala.

“Yes and everyday I try to remove it.” He said coldly and narrowing his eyes in the process.

“Oh.” Kagome said with widened eyes.

Thinking about how bad Naraku has been in the past says a lot of things about him. He was lonely ever since he was born so he might still feel depressed about them things. Naraku never showed that much emotion anyway and no one could read his thoughts unless they can telepathic. He was a strong half demon. He beat many full demons and that was proof enough to be called the best. Inuyasha was the only other half demon. Just thinking about it Inuyasha and Naraku are the same. They both are shunned away from society.

Kagome looked at Naraku and smiled. She thought maybe I can be his only friend but isn't he the enemy of all my friends? Thinking she said, “They'll never know.” Out loud.

Naraku looked over at her and she blushed slightly.

“I'm sorry I was thinking out loud.” She said giving Kilala tuna for dinner. The sun was setting and that day was long and she is glad that it is over. Naraku raised an eyebrow at her.

“We'll be staying a mile above the village. Then I will take a bath while you and Kilala get to know each other.” Kagome said walking in front of him. “Oh, I want you to be more open to me. I don't like people that talk a little and just listen to my conversations instead of talking back.”

Naraku smirked and said, “You want me to talk now? A few hours ago you said that I couldn't talk.”

“I was on a mission. I couldn't talk to any one so I could concentrate.” Kagome looked back at him and then stopped when they were a few feet away from a boulder. “This is good enough.”

“How old is your brother?” Naraku asked.

“He's almost 13 and I can't wait to see him. I haven't seen him in three months. Inuyasha has been pressing me that Kikyo join the group and eventually he got her to join. I wasn't able to visit my family because he was so determined to find more jewel shards or find you.” She said putting her backpack on the ground. Kilala was walking behind them still kind of tired of the fight.

Taking her bathing materials out of her backpack Kagome walked away and said, “No peaking.” Walking a few feet off the road she found a stream where she can wash up at. Naraku looked at her retreating form and smiled at Kilala. Kilala walked closer over to him and made a small growl at him.

“Relax little one. I will not harm Kagome. She is more important to me than you really know.” He said with a small smile.

Kilala eyes widened just a bit and she yawned. Naraku then walked over to the cat demon and picked her up only to have her mewl at him. Kilala was warming up to him too and soon Kagome will be more than warm up to him. He patted Kilala between the ears and she purred eventually falling asleep. Naraku smiled and then looked towards where Kagome was coming back with the kimono he sent Kagura to give her. She looked more beautiful in it than he could even imagine. Kagome blushed and said, “How you like it?”

Naraku grinned, “I like it or maybe even love it.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Snowysess: That was longer chapter than I thought.

 

Era: Me too. I only wrote seven pages in my journal. I thought it was going to be only four pages.

 

Snowysess: At least they didn't start getting freaky yet.

 

Era: Don't worry next chapter it will be more romantic and Inuyasha will have a problem.

 

Snowysess: Don't talk about the chapter while I'm typing you know I type anything you say right?

 

Era: Be quiet. At least this is the sixth chapter.
