Chapter 8

Naraku appeared at the castle he took control of. He had a scowl on his face every since he left Kagome. He didn't really want to leave but had to and that was ruining his plan. He had to act fast because the war is closing in on him faster than he could comprehend. He looked around his room and laughed quietly to himself. Kanna has done what he said and that means he can trust her a little bit, but he can't trust her fully. It was something about her eyes that told him that she was a damned creation. Gruffly he called her forth. “Kanna come here!”

Kanna's shadow appeared behind the doors, it opened slowly, and she walked in carrying her baby brother with her. “Yes, Naraku?”

Naraku smiled evilly and said, “We will attack Inuyasha and his dead whore. When Kagome returns we will make sure they meet. She hates Kikyo too much to not kill her.”
“Yes and by the way Kagura is ready to be treated.” Kanna smiled which was a rare thing unless she's planning something evil or already did something evil.
Naraku scowled and said, “Bring her to me. Get Yoki here too.”

Kanna nodded and walked out the door quickly as she came. Soon after she left Yoki was there with an evil glint in his eyes. “Yoki I want you to find the monk and the demon slayer and bring them to me. I want to make sure they don't ruin my plans with Kagome and another thing, get that look out of your eyes or I'll make sure you never get it again by doing something devastating.” Naraku growled out in anger. Yoki glared at him and said, “Whatever Lord Darkness.” Yoki walked out the room and mumbled, “Fucking prick.”

Naraku ignored the comment waited for Kagura to come to him. After a few minutes he was pissed off. He wasn't that patient especially when it came to Kagura. He got up from his pillows and walked out the room having his tentacles abstract from his back. He stomped down the halls into the dungeon. Kagura was on the floor trying to get up with gritted teeth. Naraku frowned and said, “Didn't I tell you to come to me?”

Kagura's breath stopped and she looked down at the floor in shock. She didn't want to get punished again and she really didn't like Naraku's temper. Kanna just told her that Naraku wanted to see her and she was trying as hard as she could to get up off the floor. Tears then hit the cold stone floor and she choked of her air.
One of Naraku's tentacles brought her up and brought her to have his face just inches from hers. His breathing was coming out hard and he growled. “Kagura you really test my patience. I will feed you only if you obey me without complaining.”

Kagura nodded slowly and he put her on her feet. She collapsed to the ground and before her face can hit it Naraku grabbed her with a clawed hand. “You are useless.”
He carried her over his shoulders and headed towards her room. He was going to help her only because he was the only one that would. Everyone else would kick her up the stairs and make her condition worse. He only had ten servants for this dark castle. He left the other one to root in the other castle he owned. He kicked open her doors to her room and threw her on the bed. Then he went to her closet and got the few kimonos she owns and threw a green and dark pink one next to her. “Get dressed. Kanna will bring you something to eat afterwards.” Scowling he walked out her room and became more frustrated.

Kanna came into Kagura's room after about twenty minutes with a full plate of food. She smiled when Kagura glared at her. “Kanna you will pay for what you did to me! You cold hearted bitch!” Kanna smiled and said, “Don't worry about that. It will take more than your wind to kill me especially when part of my soul belongs to Naraku and that mirror. The only one who can kill me is Naraku and the miko from the future Kagome.”

Kanna sat her food on Kagura's lap and cupped her chin. “Besides it's no way Naraku would even kill me. I can give him anything he wants without putting a complaint about it.” Slapping her lightly she said while stepping away from the wind demoness, “I have to go now but I'll be back to give you a bath because apparently Nami doesn't want to.”

Kagome walked into Inuyasha's forest and smiled. She'll be able to see her family again and she's going to stay for a few days before coming back. She then sensed a demon coming at her with tremendous speed. It felt like Koga, the trees started blowing to the side as a small tornado stopped in front of her.
“Hey, Koga!”
Koga looked at Kagome with his famous grin. “Where's mutt face?”
Kagome looked at him with anger. “The so called mutt face choose that stinking clay pot over me! I and Kilala left the group because of her and everybody else didn't really keep to our needs.” Kagome calmed down at the last sentence. Koga looked at the demon cat in her arms that was fast asleep and snoring lightly.

Koga raised an eyebrow and then shrugged it off. “Kagome the war will be here in two weeks. Sesshoumaru and I are going to be fighting the northern bastard so please try to stay away from here as long as you can. Our battlefield is going to be all over the place. Nothing or no one will be spared unless they fight. Women and children stay at the landlords' castles so they can be well protected.”

Kagome looked worried for a second and asked, “Is Ayame going to be alright? You know I can help! My purifying powers grown and I can use them frequently.”
Koga smiled and said, “Ayame is going to be alright. She is heavily guarded by my best men so don't worry about her. You know I won't let my family get hurt or any of my friends for that matter. Kagome you are a weapon to us demons so if you do help you're going to have to limit your power and really I don't want you getting hurt on my war. Oh, Sesshoumaru found Shippo yesterday and now he's taking care of him.”

“How did Shippo get lost?” Kagome's eyes narrowed.

“Well he told Sesshoumaru that Sango yelled at him and made him cry. He basically ran away because he thought that she was going to hurt him.” Koga stopped smiling. “What's going on with your group anyway?”
“Kikyo ruined the group. She ruined everybody's lives just because she walks this planet. I don't think anybody could have a normal life around her. Basically she drove me away and with me away there is no group and I created the group so that's it.” Kagome said with sadness in her voice. She wasn't going to tell him that she befriended Naraku not yet anyway.

“So what are you going to do?” Koga asked.
“First I got to go home and since that war is going to happen faster than I thought I can only stay for one day and continue to look for the jewel shards. There's only three left to go and that's in the southern lands so I'll be going there tomorrow. Then I'm going to find Sango and teach her a lesson. I told her to take care of Shippo and she couldn't even do that!” she said anger building up.

“Well hurry Kagome I don't think this war is going to be short after all. It can last for days, months; even years so don't get caught up in it.” Koga said walking up to her. He still loved her but Ayame was his first love that responded to him. He gave Kagome a light hug careful not to crush Kilala in her hands and kissed her on the forehead. “Remember Kagome if you're in any trouble at all use the necklace or the bracelet I gave you.” He said touching both of the jewelry in his hands.
Kagome smiled warmly at him and said, “I don't want to cause you too much trouble, but if I do need help I will call upon you.”
Kagome kissed him on the cheek and his famous grin returned. “Now go! I don't want your family getting worried about you. Tell Ayame I said hi for me while you're at it.”
Koga petted Kilala a little and said, “Sure, and I'll make sure Shippo gets your message about Sango.”

Kagome smiled and jumped down the well before he could run off. Kagome felt a familiar light substance take her back into her time. Seeing the latter and the top of the well house she smiled big. She climbed it carefully so not to hurt Kilala in anyway. When she got up to the top she wiped her head with her free hand and smiled down at Kilala. She was clinging to her with her claws inside her shirt. Kagome smiled and said, “There are a lot of people you didn't meet yet Kilala. My grandfather died but I heard that my mom is having another child.”

Kilala mewled and Kagome detached her from her black shirt. She still had the black kimono in her book bag. Opening the doors to the well house she ran to the door in a fluid motion. She banged on it until she heard a familiar voice yelling, “Coming! Mom sit down you need your rest!”

A teenaged boy answered the door and his eyes widened with tears. Kagome set Kilala down gently on the ground while Sota looked her over. She has grown over the last three months into a simple ordinary woman. From within Kagome can hear her mom ask, “Who is it Sota?”
Sota jumped into Kagome making her fall backward hard onto the ground. His tears immediately soaking her shirt. “Kagome! Kagome I thought you were dead! Why didn't you come see us?! Kagome I missed you so much!” Sota cried into her shirt harder.
Kagome rubbed his back and played in his hair while crying with him. Yes should would have thought he was dead if she didn't see him in three whole months. She would think something would be terribly wrong.
“It's alright Sota I'm back and after awhile I thought I was dead too.” Kagome rested her chin on his head.
“Are you going to stay long?” he tried holding back the other tears that were threatening to come out. He hasn't seen his sister and now he sees her looking completely safe and happy.

“No but I promise you this I'll go where ever you want me to go tomorrow. Today I just want to relax and be happy about being here again.” Kagome wiped the tears from his cheeks and smiled warmly at him. “Now please get off me. I want to see Mom.”
Sota nodded and brought himself up. He had no companions at home. Buyo died two years ago and he refused to get another cat. He had friends but they never came over due to his stories about his sister's illness. Wiping the rest of his tears off his face he looking down at Kilala. He then helped Kagome up because her book bag was still on.
“What's that?” he asked with a worried look in his eyes. Kilala had bandages on her two back paws and a bandage around her ribcage.
“That's Kilala. She's been traveling with me for a long time and just yesterday she got injured.” Kagome picked her up and said, “She's a fire cat demon. When she heals in a few days I'll come back and let you ride her.”

“She's too small to be ridden on.” Sota had a puzzled look on his face.

“You'll see in a few days. I need three more jewel shards and I'll be back for good.” Kagome winked at him and ruffled his hair. She walked into the house to see her mother on the couch with a huge stomach. She was eating some chips and watching her soap operas. Kagome took off her book bag and walked up stairs to put Kilala in her bed. She made Kilala a bed when she brought her through the well the first time.

Kagome then went back downstairs to see her mother in the same position. Smiling she walked to the 20'by 25' TV standing in front of it then she turned it off. She turned towards her mother and said, “Don't you know eating junk food can make you fat?”

Her mother dropped her bag of potato chips and tears of joy came down her cheeks. It's been a long time since they saw each other. The last time they saw each other they had an argument about the baby's father. He was younger than her mother and her mother was old enough to be his mother. Her mother was 43 and that's kind of weird to have a baby at that age. Kagome walked over to her mother and embraced her. Their actions said more than words can ever say.

Miroku looked up at the darkening sky. He wondered where Kagome is right now. He was becoming agitated with Sango. They stopped at the village he grew up in so he can talk to his master. Sango right now was sleeping somewhere in the temple. It took him hours for him to let her off his back. His master stepped out though so he had to wait. A sweet voice brought him out of his thoughts. “Miroku is that really you?”

Miroku looked towards the source to see his childhood demon friend Tiera standing before him. “It really is you! I haven't seen you in seven years! How have you been?” she asked.

Miroku looked into her blue eyes much lighter than his violet blue eyes. He smiled and said, “Same.”

“You still are the same. Who's that woman sleeping in one of the servants' room?” she asked with curiosity.

“That's my fiancé but I don't love her. She really gets on my nerves now. It's like she's a whole new person because I asked her to marry me. Can you help me tell her it's off?” Miroku said with a pleading look.
Tiera smiled and said, “What are friends for anyway?”
Miroku laughed and said, “You're the same Tiera I remember.”
“Did you kill that guy Naraku yet? Do you still have the wind tunnel?” She asked sitting down next to him.
“No but I can feel it expanding. Soon I will die if this thing doesn't go away. I will have lived my life to its fullest.” Miroku said lowering his voice.

“Miroku there's something I need to tell you.” Tiera touched his shoulders.
“What is it?” he asked with a little excitement.
“Do you still go around asking women to bare your child?” she asked with a small blush.
“Sometimes when Sango isn't around. Why?”
“Ask me the question. Ever since I was a child and ever since we were teenagers I hoped that me and you could be a couple but you went on that quest before I could even tell you any of my feelings.” Tiera looked straight dead in his eyes. All that was there was deep love showing in her eyes and Miroku didn't know what to do.
“Please ask the question.” She said laying her head on his shoulder.
Miroku took a deep sigh and said, “I can't not when I have to deal with so many problems.”

Tiera sighed and said, “Don't worry I can wait and until that day you'll be seeing me a lot. I'll make sure your fiancé knows you don't want to be committed to her. Oh and I figured out my powers after you left.”

“Huh?”

Tiera touched his wind tunnel hand and held it in her clawed one. “After you left I was mad that you didn't say goodbye to me so I went training on Mt.Rikuyo and my master said I was a tiger demon. I can lengthen my claws five inches and when I growl it stuns my opponents. I also carry a staff to protect myself. After I was done training which took like two years after you left I started to search for you. Then five years later I see you with a woman at the temple we used to play at.” She said narrowing her eyes into slits.
Since Miroku remembered her temper he realized that the only thing that can stop her is what she wants you to do or comforting her in a fashionable manner. So he did the only thing that came to his mind, he kissed her. When he backed away Tiera was touching her lips like something wasn't supposed to happen.

“Tiera I'm not ready yet to settle down. I would like to rid this curse, have my own house, and be able to travel where ever I choose. Please you must understand this I think I'm not ready to be married at all. When the time is right I will choose a wife but not right now. I have too many things on my mind.” Miroku said hugging her close. They didn't notice the green eyes that stared at them behind the corner though. When Miroku let go he grabbed his staff and said, “I sense an evil presence around here.”
Tiera's eyes brightened to glow blue and her fangs lengthened about and inch, and her nails lengthened five inches. Bright blue strips covering her cheeks and her white hair glistening in the moonlight air. When she was talking to Miroku she lost track of time. Sniffing the air she growled towards the corner of the house and you can actually see the silver almost invisible sound waves. Her white short kimono allowed her to move faster so she ran to the side of the house carrying in her claws a demon man with dark green hair and bright green eyes. He was growling ferociously and trying to kick her down. She growled loudly in his ear while Miroku just walked up to him and put a talisman on him. Causing the demon to fall to the ground. Tiera went back to normal with her white tail disappearing too. “What you do to him?” she asked amazed by the talisman.

“The talisman makes him sink into the ground and disappears for eternity after an hour of it on him.” Miroku explained to her.
Tiera sat down by the sinking demon and asked, “Who are you?”
The demon growled out, “Yoki!”
Miroku looked Yoki and noticed his clothing was torn. He quickly discovered he was serving someone. “Who sent you?”
“Why do you care?” He yelled out with anguish.
“We want to know why you attacked us.” Tiera stated.
“Naraku sent me. He wanted me to get this one called Miroku and Sango because he didn't want you interfering with his plans.” He said in a rush.
Miroku narrowed his eyes and asked, “Plans? What plans?”
Yoki growled and said, “He wants a mate bad so he's going after the only person that can give him a full demon offspring as an heir, but theirs a catch he has to win her heart before doing so. He just wanted me to bring you so you didn't get in the way.”
Miroku closed his eyes in thought of it. Who could possibly give him an heir of a full demon? Who would he have to win the heart of? Why did it involve him? Then he came to the conclusion of the only person possible of doing so. “Kagome.”
Yoki smiled, “Correct monk! Now release me!”

Tiera stood up and awaited Miroku command. “Take the talisman off. We must find Lady Kagome before it's too late.” Tiera took the talisman off and ran off with Miroku into the night. Yoki stood up thankful that the pressure was off his back he growled. Then he realized that demon wasn't Sango the demon slayer. He looked around the temple and then looked in all its room until he came upon a woman on the cold wood floor. Smiling he picked her up and disappeared in a dark cloud of smoke.
