Rin completed another bouquet of bright yellow flowers and set them aside next with the others. She got up to get some more, but she ran into her surrogate taiyoukai. He simply stared at her, his lips thin.

"Gomen nasai, Sesshoumaru-sama! I made some flowers for you!"

"Rin, what do you think I would do with these flowers?"

"You would wear them, Sesshoumaru-sama!"

He cringed. Of course the girl would want him to wear those; how could he politely refuse?

"Stupid girl! The great Sesshoumaru does not wear flowers!" Jaken had entered the clearing.

Ignoring the toad's reprimand, she continued: "Will you tell me a story, Sesshoumaru-sama?"

He paused for a moment. Of course this girl had needs, but he had forgotten about her emotional ones. He was her father, after all. He reflected on the stories he was told as a child by his father. Of course he could do this… He sat down at the base of a large tree. "Come."

"Thank you Sesshoumaru-sama!"

"Centuries ago, there was an ookami demon lord who lived near a village. Although he was very kind, the villagers were intimidated by him. One day he stumbled upon a local village girl and they… they… Rin?" He sniffed… She was bleeding! Had he hurt her somehow? No… No, this was different… She smelled… Oh, god.

"Yes Sesshoumaru-sama?" She said, oblivious.

"Would you like to take a bath?" His senses told him an onsen was a moment's walk away.

"Hai!" She lept off his lap, but noticed that her kimono's fabric clung to her lord's. Sticky blood held the fabric together.

"Sesshoumaru-sama? Are you hurt, Sesshoumaru-sama?"

He looked at her. The ever slightest twitch came about his eye. "Yes, Rin. We must bathe now." He knew the lie would not last long.

"Okay!"

They came to the onsen. What an odd couple they made: a taiyoukai and a young ningen girl. He stayed quiet while she sang happily.

Rin slipped off her kimono and gasped, blood streaming down from between her legs. Her eyes widened in panic for a moment, she looked at Sesshoumaru, "Sesshoumaru-sama! I… Don't feel pain… But I'm bleeding! Why!?" She started crying, "My lord, please help me..." Rin ran to him, ignoring the fact that she was naked, and clung to his leg, brushing her cheek against the silken cloth as she cried.

He sighed and put his hand on her shoulder, "Calm down, Rin." His voice was emotionless as usual, his eyes fixed on her young face. He was reluctant to say this, as he was not an expert in the matters, but he had noticed the sexual nature from her scent. "You're fine. You're bleeding because you are a woman now."

Rin sniffled and wiped at her eyes, "I am?" she asked, letting go of his leg.

He simply nodded, his eyes never leaving her face.

She whimpered and touched her lower abdomen, "It hurts," she rubbed her legs together awkwardly. "This is disgusting!"

"A bath will make you feel better," the smell of her blood made his nose crinkle. He coaxed her into the warm water, reassuring the young girl--or was it woman now?-- that she would be alright within a few days.

Rin nodded and wiped her eyes again, she looked at the water then jumped in. It felt good against her skin. She went under the water and swam around, soon forgetting about the yucky blood. "Sesshoumaru-sama, won't you come in? The water feels really good."

Sesshoumaru sniffed, her flow had slowed from the water. Ii ja nai… His clothes were bloody anyway. He nodded, "Alright."

She smiled and turned around. Rin waited until she heard clothes drop to the ground and him step into the water before she turned around again.

He sat with his back against the side, his arms were on the side, his hands dangling in the water. He leaned his head back, closing his eyes. She was right, the water did feel good. His long silver hair floated in the water, strands of it clung to the solid muscles of his well defined chest. A century of fighting youkai will give a person such features.

He was beautiful, Rin couldn't deny that. She sat on the opposite side of the onsen, eying every inch of his body.

"Rin. It is not polite to stare." He could sense her eyes on him.

Rin nearly gasped, but stifled it. To save face, she quickly changed the subject. "I realized you lied to me. You weren't injured."

"Youkai heal quickly."

"I still know you're lying," she said with a coy smile.
