InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Ikemasen no ai ❯ Lost Love, A New Hope ( Chapter 6 )
Chapter 6, revision 1.0.1 A/N: Ah, yes, the OOC daemon is poking it's devilish routine over my shoulder. One must remember: Inuyasha is a very sensitive person (under his gruff exterior) and he was practically rejected by his brother. Shippou acts like a brat, but he is adept at understanding social situations and is quite intelligent for his apparent age.
Inuyasha sighed. His brother was lost to him now. Their past meant nothing to his brother anymore. He headed back to Kagome.
"Inuyasha! Where have you been? You've been gone for two hours! We were worried!" Kagome yelled at him.
Inuyasha simply stared at her, his eyes full of hurt.
"Oh, Inuyasha… I'm so sorry." She threw her hands around him, giving him a gentle squeeze. The hanyou attempted to wriggle out of her grasp, to no avail.
"Get the fuck off me…" …Stupid Fucking Bitch! He thought inwardly as to not be push her.
Sango and Miroku simply looked at the two. Kagome began to cry into his chest as she clung to his red haori. "I was so worried about you, Inuyasha. I can't let you go." Inuyasha scowled.
Shippou had crawled up and was sniffing the air nervously. He traced it to Inuyasha. He looked up with a grin. "Inuyasha, what have you been doing?"
Oh, shit. "Shut the hell up, brat! Nothing!"
"Then why do I smell-" He barely got the words out before having having a surprisingly gentle hand clamped tightly over his mouth.
The gumi looked on with surprise.
"We two need to have a talk…" Inuyasha said with a serious face as he dragged the kitsune well beyond hearing range.
As soon as he unclamped his mouth Shippou looked at Inuyasha straight in the eyes.
"You two had… you had sex, didn't you? You and Sesshoumaru."
Inuyasha looked on in horror. He couldn't deny this truth.
"So what if I did?" he challenged.
Shippou glared at him in fury.
"You sick hanyou! You know what you did? You had sex with your brother, you damn sick bastard. Kami-sama! I don't know what the hell…"
Inuyasha then did a very odd thing. He broke down in tears.
"I love him! And he used to love me! Gah!" He grabbed Shippou for comfort, squeezing him against his chest. "I love him, I love him…" Shippou just held onto Inuyasha, afraid to protest for fear of his life in the hands of this unstable, but dangerous, hanyou.
It then struck the young one: It's one sided love! That's why he's so broken up.
"Inuyasha, calm down, calm…" he whsipered into the faded hakama.
"Oh, Shippou, I knew you'd understand…" He let him go, said kitsune now straightening his fur vest and leaf-print clothing.
"No, Inuyasha. What you did was wrong. I don't know how long you've been doing this, but there's no forgiving you if Kagome finds out that you've been… What you've done. You know that she loves you, don't you?"
"What!?" Inuyasha jumped up, his hands in the air. "You're lying! She's a human! How can she love me, a hanyou?"
Shippou sighed. "You really are oblivious aren't you? I can't even count how many times she blushes around you, stares at you and sighs, gets angry because you don't understand woman's feelings…"
A thought struck Shippou. Years of loving his brother must have tought Inuyasha different things about love than he himself knew. He put a hand on his chin in a thinking pose. He knew Sesshoumaru was a very selfish and arrogant youkai, who never missed a chance to insult his `half-brother…' If Sesshoumaru acted like that when they loved each other, Inuyasha must have been very conflicted. He wondered if it was always one-sided love, or if Sesshoumaru harbored feelings for him.
"Inuyasha, he doesn't love you back, does he? But he did love you at one time…"
He simply looked down, tears welling up in his eyes. Shippou then added another variable to this love equation. What happened with Kikyou? The answer already apparent. Sesshoumaru began to hate the hanyou, and Inuyasha, being of a fragile state, looked to someone for love. He was, after all, a dog at heart.
"I think you need to let go of your feelings for him. What about Kikyou? You tried to with her, didn't you?"
Inuyasha's sniffled, streams of tears running down his face, and fell to his knees, then to the ground in dejection, his face buried in dirt.
"Inuyasha, would Sesshoumaru be happy if he saw you like this?"
His body lay still. At last, an answer came.
"No, he'd be angry, he would say I put shame to my father."
"What if he would be angry because he can't have someone bawling like a baby as his mate? He wants someone who's collected and intelligent."
He looked up, dirt caked around his eyes. "You really think so?"
"Inuyasha, I'm reluctant to say this, but yes, I think that may be so. Now lets get back to camp. You can't see him after this."
The distant look on Inuyasha's face told the kitsune that he was thinking about that.
"Shippou, you better not say a single word of this to anyone, or I'll fucking beat the crap out of you."
He was not surprised, in fact, the red-haired boy half-expected this. He raised his hands in submission and smiled sincerely as he led Inuyasha towards Kagome. There had to be a way of getting the hanyou from the sickly grasp of his brother. If there was anyone who could get him back, it was Kagome.
