[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

In life some things aren't the way there meant to be, sometimes destiny just takes hold of your life and you have no say in the matter. From time to time you're so alone that even the saviour of your life has no hold on you anymore, and sometimes fate just hands you the bad news on a silver platter.

Kagome Higurashi was about to find this out first hand and even then she was born with a curse a blood line that could never be destroyed, she would be torn between two lives and two people that are the most influential people in her life. She would have to pick between to loves and there's no escape from it all.

To love somebody with all your might can be the bravest and courageous thing you could achieve in your life and in doing so you put your heart, your soul and body on the line. But the worst thing for such a brave person to give up so much is when they can never feel that the love they so willingly gave away is not returned, yet they watch as another receives what they should have earned or even more deserved.

Dark clouds symbolize the feeling of that loss. But on the other side of that dark grey cloud is a bright blazing sun fighting for its way to re-enter their cold clouded world. To once again claim their carefree heart. Killing takes a toll on any human being sometimes it's not always the way people assume killing means but more on the lines of a broken lost soul.

14 years of age her raven hair ending just above her backside, her small figure enduring the weight of a heavy book filled bag. Kagome Higurashi raced down the shrine steps as she ran to school, Her light chocolate coloured eyes shone with happiness and life the true sign of a innocent, naive youngster, her sister not far behind her long dark brown hair cascading down her back ending just below her back side, her deep brown eyes sparkling with hidden mystery and mischief Sango smiled at her baby sister with love, sister's that didn't resemble each other one slight bit they both owned their own share of beauty that went beyond looks alone.

While Sango had the demeanour of a strong, confident, outgoing warm hearted person, Kagome was shy, timid and quiet, yet her heart was so big it made up for her shy ways, both Higurashi daughter's were Kind, loving and naturally very talented what they also had in common was their thirst for life and knowledge that was unexpected of such young youth.

Kagome slowed into a easy pace waiting for her older sister to catch up with her she couldn't wait for school to start she would be attending middle school she was a year younger than most of the students that had started but Kagome was so excited on her first day that she hadn't gotten any sleep the night before. “Sango Hurry up I want to check everything out” Sango grinned at her sister “oh shut up geek I'm coming, god you and your damn love of school I don't know what Mamma did but she certainly carried a weird child” Kagome was used to the playful insults from her older sister.

Truth be told Kagome and Sango were only 11 months apart what made their situation even more interesting was they were only half sister's, both having different father's Their mother was married to Sango's father but when Kagome's father appeared their mother had a fling with him causing the birth of Kagome, Their mother thought Akira Sango's father would disown the child but he treated Kagome with just as much love and support he did to Sango. Kagome even carried the name Higurashi that was his, but the love he once shared with Kagome's mother was long gone and diminished along with his heart and her betrayal.

“Sango do you think Daifu will be proud of me” Sango smiled brightly “uh huh He's gunna be very proud of you “Kagome smiled softly “I hope Dad will be to” Sango frowned to herself she never really understood Kagome's connection to her biological father it was none of her business but he never raised her as his own and she would always be Akira Higurashi's daughter.

Kagome could sense Sango's worry Kagome's real father was a sensitive subject when it came to Sango “Sango even though he was hardly there for me I still love him” Sango smiled sadly “I know it's just your not his and Daifu always panic's that you'll decide to move to America every time you speak to him” Kagome sighed “well it's not like I haven't lived with him before, I mean it wasn't all that bad” Sango stiffened “yeah I guess it's your choice not mine” Kagome flinched at her sister's bitter words, silence surrounded her in the most depressing way, her father would always have a place in Kagome's heart but she knew that Akira Higurashi was her true father but sometimes some secrets were better left hidden then resurfaced.

Kagome grinned her spirit's once again rising tugging on Sango's uniform she smiled “Sango is this it?” Sango grinned “yup sis this is High school” Kaogme giggled “I cant wait to meet my friends” Sango glanced at Kagome before drawing her into a hug “you go off and find your friends sis if you cant find them I'll be under the sakura tree with mine” Kagome smiled pulling away from her sister she raced off to go explore the school, she looked everywhere but couldn't find her friends anywhere “hmm mustn't be at school yet” she made her way back out to the side of the school where she had left Sango as she looked around she saw a group of teenagers sitting under the tree.

Sango was currently leaning up against Miroku her boyfriend Kagome stood and watched her sister was so happy laughing and talking to her friends she felt like an intruder, standing there she contemplated on wether or not to join her sister and her friends or roam around alone. But before she could think Sango yelled out for her “Hey sis come here I want you to meet some people” Kagome bowed her head and made her way over to her very popular sister “uh huh what?” Kagome asked shyly Sango smiled happily “you already know Miroku but do you remember a certain hanyou?” Kagome frowned “Nani Sango” Her face was still down cast “You serious god I thought that you would remember bathing with him when you were little, not to mention being best friends as well” Kagome turned beet red and played with the dirt under her shoe “I don't think it's appropriate to talk about that in front of everyone Sango” Sango laughed out loud “come off it Kagome stop being so shy” Kagome sighed and sat down “yeah at least I didn't eat dirt and bugs when I was younger” Sango grinned “Hey at the time I found them really tasty” Kagome nearly thew up “a tarantula is not tasty it's plain disgusting” the group snickered at the new found information “Hey that was sister to sister information no fair” Kagome pocked her tongue out at Sango “hah does it look like I care?” just as Kagome looked up to take in every bodies faces her eyes fell on those familiar beautiful eyes she thought she would never see them again, Kagome froze her air way was cut off, those eyes flashed something all to familiar to her and she panicked “Sakura?” the voice asked softly hurt and relief laced through those words, Kagome went pale before getting to her feet stumbling backwards she ran for her life not looking back at the hurt look in those eyes.

`Her Eyes'

Yasuo stared at his desk; a folder was laid out in front of him flipping through it when his phone rang “Yasuo here” The man grinned “Yasuo I need you to do me another job, but this time I don't want set ups, or suicide scenes I need this one to be perfect, clean and cut. This person needs to be off the face of the planet without any evidence left behind” Yasuo shook his head “I'll let my girls know tonight” the voice seemed to harden and dangerously reply “No you're not getting my drift Yasuo I need your little baby again, Sakura will do the job and no other do I have myself clear?” Yasuo snarled “what do you want with her?” The man chuckled “she's more talented then her father at executing a crime actually I think she's Yasuo Hitogoroshi himself yet more appealing” Yasuo slammed his fist on his desk “you cant have her, this will be her last mission and that's it leave her be” The man sneered “I know the rules, don't worry not a hair on her head will be touched after you dismiss her. I just have to wonder how much you love that child more then the rest, I mean your willing to set her free yet not the other's” “Disobedience is unacceptable no one not even my own daughter can break that rule” Yasuo was sick of the conversation and wanted out “well Yasuo how do you think she's going to cope without this life, you have after all brought her up with it since she was 3 years old. The youngest assassin in history I presume” Yasuo gripped his arm rest “it was my mistake, but after all this no one will have her, Sakura the Mayonaka Maiden will be a myth” a loud chuckle was heard over the line “be careful at what you say Yasuo, after all you may be surprised at what you find” “who is it you want killed?” The man smiled “Akira Higurashi” Yasuo went numb his hands shaking “A-Akira” Naraku smirked “yes
