The storm was well over due and the ranch needed the rain. Kagome surveyed the drenched mass of land and sighed hoping that it would help the crops. She let her mind drift back to the night before, when she and Inuyasha shared a blissful passion that she would remember all her life.

 

“Sis! Yo' Sis!” Kohaku galloped out of the blue truck that had just pulled up.

“That storm was wicked. I sure hope that Kikyo lady made it somewhere safe.” Souta nodded in agreement, as he popped up beside Kohaku.

 

Miroku, Sango's husband, hugged Kagome as he looked over the dampened ranch.

“Well, looks like we've got some work ahead of us.”

Kagome nodded as she began to feel guilty about Kikyo's state of unknowing when the storm hit.

Kagome fled inside the house to get on some work clothes and soon heard Inuyasha's voice on the telephone.

 

“She's in intensive care in what room?...Okay, room D708, thank you very much…Alright then goodbye.” Inuyasha hug up his cell with a weary sigh. He then looked up to see Kagome standing in the doorway.

“You're going to go see her.” Inuyasha nodded. Kagome ran a hand through her hair.

“I'll drive you down there. She'll be happy to know that you still love her…”
“Kagome…”

 

The blue eyed goddess went off to her room chatting about men and one-night stands.

Inuyasha looked longingly at the gold band that set around his ring finger. Tugging the offensive piece of jewelry off, he threw it into a bag and began packing.

“Oh darling it was ever so horrendous! I thought I was going to die! All I could think about was our unborn child…”

“Kikyo you had yourself admitted as a near death patient in a time like this and…child?”

Kikyo nodded as she threw her arms around Inuyasha's neck.

“We can be together again…”

“I haven't even touched you for 7 months! Dio! How in the world are you pregnant with my child?”

 

Kikyo smiled weakly and began to play with the hem of her hospital dress.

“I had myself artificially inseminated with your seed.”

Inuyasha had all the wind knocked from his lungs.

“The whole poison thing was to get the seed and it went wrong.”

Inuyasha picked up what was left of his pride and stood next to Kikyo.

“For the benefit of this child we shall stay together. Cross me and it shall be your undoing Kikyo.”

 

Leaving the room, Inuyasha noticed Kagome standing by the door.

“Kagome!”

“Don't be so shocked. This has happened to me more times than I can count…”

“I didn't want to do this, but my child…”

“Is with Kikyo. I know. I mean we slept together once and I expect you to come to me willingly. I was selfish and I apologize.”

 

Inuyasha reached out to Kagome and she pulled away. Blinking the tears out of her eyes, she managed a smile.

“It was nice meeting you Mr. Maffiano.” She held out her hand to shake his. He took it and shook.

“Nice to have met you Kagome.”

Maria Maffiano glared at Kikyo from across the table. She couldn't believe that the woman had coned her way back into her son's life. Inutashio, Inuyasha's father, watched his son pick around his food. His wife had made every dish that the boy had loved since childhood and he didn't want to eat it.

 

Inuyasha felt his family eyeing him down. It wasn't bad enough that he had lost the one woman he could ever truly love, but now he was stuck with Kikyo for the rest of his life. (Maybe he should commit suicide)

Sesshomaru was the first to stand, his wife Rin tried to quiet him.

“You are a pure and utter disgrace to this family! Every woman you love turns on you! Then you bring this whore back to our home?! What sense does that make?”

“Sesshy! SIT DOWN!” His mother barked from across the table. The white haired male sat with a grimace upon his face.

“He probably misses that little trollop that he met in Montana. Darling forget her she doesn't compare to me.”

Inuyasha turned to face Kikyo.

“You're right…”
Kikyo smirked

“She's not a lying deceiving bitch like you! She wouldn't lie to me and tell false notions! Dios Moi! I left her for you because you said you were pregnant with our child!”

 

Kikyo stood with a satisfied smirk on her face.

“Well too bad! You're stuck with me!”

Pulling a knife from the table, he poised it a Kikyo's throat.

“You evil demented bitch!”

 

“Brother! Put the knife down…”

“I'm not pregnant please don't kill me…”

Inuyasha stilled. His eyes were turning a blood red.

Inutashio was picking the plate form the table.

“Kill her outside please, I don't want blood on the floor.” The spoke crossly.

Inuyasha released Kikyo.

 

“Get out.” He growled.

“Inuyasha please darling…”

“I said get out!”

Kikyo fled the house and left Inuyasha.

Maria looked on hopelessly as her son clutched his head and fell to the floor.

Sesshomaru picked up his brother and took him to his room.

 

“He's fine mom. He just over exerted himself trying to not kill Kikyo.”

“I'm surprised he didn't have a stroke.” She scoffed leaving the man in his room.

“Kagome…”
