Kagome sniffed as she wiped a watery eye. For the last three months, she'd been trying to get over Inuyasha. His eyes, his smile, the way he held her. Nothing seemed to help.

A quick rap on the door dent her flying to see who it was. With a face of hopeful cheer she opened the door and gasped.

 

“Hello Kags. Been a while and I'm here to collect.”

Hojo smirked criminally as he let himself in the house. Kagome reached for the phone only to have it knocked for her grasp.

“Hey baby, I heard that you'd been creeping with one of my collogues.” He grasped her hand and she tried to free herself.

 

“It's none of your business!”

Hojo laughed and pushed her up against the wall.

“It is my business when he does my girl. Inuyasha is not me! I am the only who loves you!"

Kagome turned her head away from his.

“He does love me…”

“Then why did he leave with Kikyo?”

 

“Because she's having his baby.”

Hojo laughed again and this time he reached for a knife and split down the front of Kagome's shirt.

“She isn't, but you are.” He drew a line with the tip of the blade down her pudgy stomach.

“If you do what I say the kid'll live. If not junior here is gonna meet the floor.”

Kagome nodded waiting to save her child.

 

“Where's the money Kagome?”

Inuyasha held on for dear life as the plane jerked hitting the ground. He was here to commit to his one true love. Kagome. Looking out the window of the small jet he hurriedly exited and left the pilot.

“Yasha, you want me to stay here and wait or what?” Shippo called from the plane.

“I'll call you when I need you.”

 

The orange haired man nodded and led the plane to the Huckbye hangar. A chill ran up his spine as he called up Sango. Something wasn't right here.

Kagome slung the hammer down on the brick wall. She stopped wiping the sweat from her brow. Pieces of what used to be her bedroom wall lay strung about the place.

“Hojo, there is nothing here but brick…I can't possibly break through this.”

“Maybe you need to lose weight.” He put the blade to Kagome's belly.

 

“Okay! Please! I'll go find somethin…”

“No! I can't risk you leaving. You break through that wall with that hammer or the baby dies.”

Kagome went back to hammering.

“I hope you know how much trouble you've caused. Kagome doesn't even look the same. I think she's letting herself go. She's getting kinda fat.” Sango griped as Inuyasha sat looking out the window. Something in Sango's head snapped.

 

“Did you sleep with her?” Inuyasha turned his head slowly to look at Sango.

“My god! You did! She's not fat, she's pregnant! Oh, she didn't tell me!” Inuyasha pressed a hand to his heart and sighed.

“Dio cara, I really feel like an ass.”

Sango turned to look at Inuyasha.

“Well you should…I mean who was the one who left her?”

 

Inuyasha nodded in agreement. He would marry Kagome even if he had to do it with her kicking and screaming. A Maffiano always got what they wanted.

Kagome's fingers were scraped and bloody from toiling. She pulled the last brick from the wall as night fell over the ranch. She stared in awe at the cavern of stairs that lay inside her bedroom wall.

 

The wall was in front of a large blocked of part of the house. She said that one day she'd knock down the wall and find out what was behind it. She just never got to it.

 

Hojo basically drooled as he tugged Kagome down the stairwell.

“I ripped down the wall! Lemme go you two-bit yellow bellied snake!” Hojo slashed a small cut over Kagome's belly. She gasped in horror as she watched the blood flow.

 

“That cut wasn't deep but with the added drafty winds of this cavern it could become infected and hazordous to the baby. I suggest you shut up and come on or that kid of yours could die.” Kagome held back tears as she went down into the darkness with a flashlight and her killer.

Inuyasha bounded the porch steps to met Kagome.

“Slow down Casanova.” He nearly found himself howling “Honey I'm home!” as he rushed through the door.

Hearing Sango's car leave, he stuck out his chest and headed for Kagome's bedroom.

Inuyasha stood deathly still as he looked around the room. No matter how he looked at it the scene didn't change.

 

There was a gaping hole in one wall and blood and rubble on the ground.

“Kagome! Cara can you hear me?” He yelled into the hole before stepping in.

Hojo cursed as he heard Inuyasha's fast approach. He put the blade to Kagome's neck and put his lips to her ear.

“You could have told me that he hadn't left. Now you'll have to die too.”

“Please Hojo, please don't kill me. I want my baby to live…please don't do this.”

Hojo put the blade to her stomach.

 

“I could kill it you know. Which one? You or the kid? Medical science will pay to keep the child alive. Especially with all the money your lover makes. He's just cuckoo for a family. You, however, have to chose which lives. Your or your child.”

 

Kagome looked up just in time to see Inuyasha pad down the corridor.

“The baby.”

Hojo smirked.

“Damn women.”

He slit her throat and fled into the cavern.

 

“Kagome!”

Inuyasha held her in his arms. The face of Juniper looked back at him from his love's eyes.

“I'm sorry.” He cried into her still body.

“I love you, please…”
